Thinking about Bruce and the piles of shoes by the door to Wayne Manor.

How before Martha and Thomas were murdered there were loads of pairs. Thomas' work shoes and his golf shoes and his tennis shoes. Martha's party shoes and her comfy shoes and her slippers. Bruce's school shoes and his wellies and his crocs.

And then... then there are only Alfred and Bruce's funeral shoes. (And eventually Bruce's shoes are gone too.)

Except one day Dick comes along and there are lots again. School shoes and sneakers and wellies and little boots, next to Bruce's giant versions.

Until Dick goes...

But then Jason arrives and Dick comes back every so often and there are more shoes than there have ever been.

Only, then Jason dies. And Bruce is stood at the door of his home and all of Jason's shoes are there but nobody will ever wear them again.

But over the years there are more and more until one day Bruce is stood there and there's a giant pile of shoes by the door. Bruce's own shoes and Alfred's shoes. Dick's and Babs and Jason's. Cass's shoes and her ballet shoe bag. Steph's high tops and Tim's Jordans. Duke's sneaks and Damian's school shoes.

Haphazardly strewn by the door, scuff marks against the wall. And Bruce realises it's just about the best sight to he could possibly come home to.

thinking about silver shyly asking deuce to take a picture of him in his festival costume so he can show his father when they get back, but he's never been able to force a smile, and he can't figure out how to break out of his usual stone-faced stiffness. epel suggests he try and imagine something that’d make him smile, and ortho chimes in saying he should think about how happy his father will be when he gives him the picture. and then the biggest, brightest smile unfurls across silver's face, gentler and purer than anything deuce, epel, and ortho have ever seen, and they're all so wonderstruck that deuce forgets to even take the photo _(:з」∠)_

random question: what is the path of Solitude for Phione? Imagine Akari overcoming a challenge like that and Ingo just whips out Akaris Pokedex and puts his stamp on the incomplete page for Phione!

(probably more of a joke comic than anything but I wanted to share this idea!)

Phione’s path of solitude is against a Chatot! (And bulbapedia mentions that this is a reference to the film Manaphy and the Temple of the Sea, as chatot and parasect (the Pokémon you fight in Manaphy’s path of solitude) are two of the antagonist’s pokemon. It also says shaymin’s path of solitude pokemon is Magnezone to reference giratina and the sky warrior, which I love!!!!)

It seems I’ve set Bird Pokémon up to be the bane of Akari’s existence as a Phione, but if she ever gets used to using pokemon moves and practices battling, I’m sure she could take the chatot down!! If she does, I’m could see Ingo going either way with stamping the page and passing her, based on how strict his rules are about completing the path of solitude. But that would require him to be ok with sending out a level 60 chatot against her in the first place!!
