So with production for Good Omens Season 3 officially halted, it does look like cancellation may be on the horizon. Because yeah, I really don't think Amazon would 'pause' production on a show this lucrative if there wasn't serious discussions currently going on about 'if' and 'how' it should continue. A production shuffle-up - ie. Neil Gaiman getting booted and new staff being put in charge - is certainly a possibility. But it is important to remember that this will still be a show that is written by him and very intrinsically linked to his brand. And whether fans or studios will still have an appetite for it considering this fact is something that has to be seriously considered.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that as disappointing as it would be, cancelling Good Omens season 3 may be the hard but right decision. And, frankly, if season 2 is anything to go by, we may not be missing out on too much to be honest.
But on a serious note, I do want to use this news as an opportunity to share my own thoughts on the situation, which I will do under the cut (and as is probably obvious, there are trigger warnings for references to SA).
Despite Neil Gaiman's works being a massive part of my content here on this tumblr - and yes, that is something I am very aware of- I've not posted about the sexual assault allegations up until now for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I'm a working adult in my 30s; tumblr is very much a place I come to chill, I'm far too old (and frankly, tired) to get involved in discourse or heated fandom debates (not that those are the correct terms to use to refer to rape allegations but you catch my drift). But the other reason is that these revelations have honestly devasted me, in a way that I'm still processing and doesn't feel like an exaggeration to describe as grief, a feeling I'm sure is echoed by many other people.
Neil Gaiman's works have been a massive part of my adult life, and while I know it sounds like a cliche, they have gotten me through some incredibly difficult times. Coming to terms with the fact that such beautiful, thoughtful, empathetic novels and series have been written by a rapist has been incredibly difficult.
What has also been incredibly difficult to come to terms with is the fact that the incredible queer representation that has drawn so many of us to his television works in recent years was, in hindsight, indisputably a grooming tactic. And yes, grooming is the right word.
The grooming of communities is not something that is often discussed but is absolutely a thing. Predators groom victims to gain access to them, and they groom the people around both the victim and themselves to make it seem unbelievable when the victim later comes forward. And this can happen parasocially too. In the case of Neil Gaiman, he groomed his fanbase by constructing a calculated image as vocal a LGBT ally, drawing in queer fans and creating a smokescreen of apparent empathy and kindness to cast doubt on the future allegations he likely knew would inevitably catch up with him.
I really want to stress - particularly for younger fans - that no one is stupid or somehow culpable for having been fooled by Gaiman, for having supported his works previously, and for continuing to support his works now. I myself have no intention to leave the fandoms I am already a part of, and I genuinely do not believe anyone is under any sort of pressure or obligation to do so. The separation of the art from the artist is a very tricky subject and not something that can ever be done entirely. And if I'm honest I'm not really sure how to navigate this myself, or what this is going to mean for me in the future.
But to get back to the subject of my blog, yes I am planning to continue reposting content related to Good Omens and Dead Boy Detectives. However the latter differs drastically in that the series was not actually written by Neil Gaiman and is effectively an author-approved spin-off of one of his works. Good Omens on the other hand I have more complicated feelings towards, and at this point I am not sure how I feel about future series being made, with or without Gaiman's involvement.
I'm sorry if this post is a rambling mess, it has taken me a lot of time to build up to being able to share my thoughts, and while there is a lot more I could say I will stop here. But on a closing note, let's just be kind to each other. This situation is awful, lets not make it any worse. Give space for the victims, give space for the fans, and give space to people to continue to enjoy fandom spaces without making assumptions about where they stand on these allegations. It is a hard time, but things will get better, and these fandom spaces will continue to be a positive place for people to exist online. Lets keep it that way.

PINNED POST. READ IT. BITCH. [In process of updating!!!!]
[Minors. Ageless blogs, blank blogs, and anyone discovered to be doing predator shit will be blocked (and reported, in a few of those cases]
Don't worry, I'm not gonna do that early tumblr thing where I type in all caps and call you a motherfucker every other sentence.
Hello, all! I'm Avie, a 31 year old nonbinary, switch, polyamorous, futchy dyke with raging AuDHD and Problematic Kinks ™️. This is a hard kink blog. Some of the contents *will* make you uncomfortable. And that's okay! If it's too much you can block me, I'm not worried about it. That being said, what you're not going to do is send me asks telling me that I'm a danger to "real lesbians' and you hope I get raped for real. Yeah, it's happened, and if you're someone who thinks that's okay to do, you need to take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself what the fuck is wrong with you. Kink is kink. Kinks between enthusiastically consenting adults are fine. If you can't handle that, don't call yourself kink positive, and don't enter kinky spaces because you're clearly not mature enough to be there.
Now that I've said that, let's jump into some of the kinks you'll find on this blog. Some of these I'd like to explore in a kink setting some day, others are strictly fantasy. Which is my business, don't assume:
Orientation play - Could be anything from being gay and trans to being ace, though I'm not into the "being fixed" flavor. Not into misgendering/detransition kinks.
CNC - soft and hard
Rape play
Ageplay
Age gaps (I like older people. Reminder that I'm *31* so like, 40+ is very hot to me)
Incest play (older brother, father, uncle, grandpa? Maybe?)
Forced to cheat (this is new and I'm still figuring it out)
Being made to enjoy forced stuff
Piss!!!
Breeding and creampies
Gentle, affectionate degradation/pet names
Public sex, especially on public transit and in nature
Intox play
Monsterfucking - werewolves, tentacles, and ghosts being the big ones, but not the only ones.
Size different/size queen shit
Fucked while on the phone
Fucked by customers (long-suffering retail worker), doctors, older friends/bosses, anyone who has some authority over me.
Autism-friendly play (see * on Hard No list)
As you can see, some decently hard shit. Again, if you don't like, just block me. Despite these kinks, I'm a pretty soft person. I like it when forcing me to feel pleasure and enjoyment in things I shouldn't is at the root of these kinks, not hate or degradation. So here is my list of shit I'm *not* into:
Harsh/mean degradation
Being called worthless, stupid, etc. Lovingly saying I'm going dumb from pleasure is okay.
Misogyny, patriarchy, white supremacy.
Cutting, bruising, face slapping, beating, choking, suffocation via head until water, burning/branding, knives or guns, genital mutilation...you get the picture. The only pain I'm into is the pain of an initial, too-big stretch, but even that needs to end in pleasure. I live with chronic pain, I don't want to deal with pain in kink, too.
Scat, vomit, spit, swallowing semen
Total loss of autonomy
* anything like being forced to look you in the eyes, sensory overstimulation, taking advantage of me during meltdowns, removing comfort items, making me eat/taste things I'm averse to.
Weight/food/ED stuff
Pregnancy! Pregnancy risk is hot, breeding is hot, but actual pregnancy kink toward me is a Hard No
Bloggers beware: pro-ana/pro-ed/fatphobic blogs will be blocked immediately
Basically, I like hard kinks coming from soft places. Is that a contradiction? I don't really think so.
I welcome and LOVE talking to others! I like being a slut! That being said:
I prefer asks over dms. I repeat, I PREFER ASKS OVER DMS.
Asks can be about anything! Scenarios, fantasies, questions, anything. Again, I like openly being a slut lol
If you dm me "hey," if we're talking and I'm doing all the work to maintain the convo, if you ask me for pics (I'll give them out if I feel like it, not on request), if you're younger than 25, if you violate my boundaries - depending on the situation I'll ignore/delete it or possibly block you.
You're allowed to send pics and vids at any point, no need to ask! Also in looove with piss gifs/videos, but if you're going to send me one (yes please) I'm begging you to drink water first. Hydrate, babes!
...okay, I think that's everything. Sorry for the long as fuck post! Once more, if it's clear you haven't read my pinned I'm gonna block you. You need to learn how to respect boundaries if you're going to do, well, anything in life, but especially being in kinky communities. If you can't even read one post, you don't belong here.
Have fun, send me naughty shit!!
~ Avie

Sitp Essentials - Fandomversary Edition: Writcraft
June marks the 12th (!!!) fandomversary of this incredibly talented and generous author, whose work has brought me so much joy and healing over the years. What an accomplishment, my friend! I know I’m not only speaking for myself when I say that we are so very grateful for your presence and immense contributions to the HP fandom. I’m a bit wary of taking on long-term projects these days but I really wanted to do something to celebrate this milestone so I’ve decided that, during the month of June (and there was no better month to celebrate in! 🏳️🌈) I’ll be posting single recs for 12 of my favourite fics by @writcraft. Some are older recs, written in the blog’s early days, some are brand new, highlighting rare pairs, hidden gems and recent works. I won’t have a rigid schedule because I don’t wanna set myself up for failure so the rec posts will be a surprise even for me 🤣 I hope you guys enjoy them just as much!
Anyone who knows me well is aware that I’m very shy around my fandom heroes and will rarely initiate any kind of conversation with them. I was so anxious about being perceived that I wouldn't even tag them when I created the blog. Writ holds even more power in my imaginary fandom altar because they’ve written one of my all-time favorite fics. I found Little Compton Street aka the “Life on Mars Love Story Told in 3 Acts” at a difficult time of my life when I was almost leaving fandom for good. But getting to read LCS and to fall in love with those magical London spots and captivating characters was a beautiful transformative experience that altered me completely. This fic not only had a profound impact on my ever changing self-awareness as a queer person, it checked my many fic reading boxes, and pulled at my heartstrings in all the right ways. I've learned so much from LCS; it is an ode to queer history, a love letter to all of those who came and fought before us, and to all of those who were killed, erased and forgotten in the process. It is is a story filled with hope and a compassionate reminder urging us to always resist, and never forget.
*at a loss of words*
(…)
As you can see, I always get immersed in my feels when I think about LCS and I know it will always have a special place in my heart. This feeling of profound gratitude and joy for Writ’s formative works is what inspired me to do this humble homage. Am I a bit nervous about not having enough fuel to see this through? Hell yes. But I’m opening myself to the possibility of failure because I know this is for someone who’s unfailingly kind and compassionate. Writ, I admire you deeply as a writer and even more so as a person. Your contributions to the HP fandom through fics, fests and meta over the years have been immense, and I know your RL contributions to the queer community and its memory have been just as impactful. Happy 12th Fandomversary, my friend! For someone who’s been reading your words since 2012, it feels incredibly special to finally get to share this space with you. 🏳️🌈💜

Answer the Questions and Tag 5 Fanfic Authors
@mosylufanfic tagged me!
1. How did you get into writing fanfiction?
When we were teens, my two best friends and I co-wrote a self-insert epic based on a terrible 80s fantasy series. Much later, being a part of online fan communities (first for Buffy and then for the LOTR movies) gave me the confidence boost to start writing again.
2. How many fandoms have you written in?
This is tough to answer because (like @mosylufanfic) I've posted on many, many defunct archives & blogging sites and have lost track of a lot of fic over the years. On AO3 alone, if you include my other pseud which mainly writes tiny, obscure and/or old fandoms for Yuletide, it's over 40.
3. How many years have you been writing fanfiction?
I started posting it online in 2000, so 24 years.
4. Do you read or write more fanfiction?
I'm a fast reader and a slow writer, so I definitely read more.
5. What is one way you’ve improved as a writer?
My plotting has improved, in the sense that now my stories sometimes have an actual (if very basic) plot.
6. What’s the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
Not that weird, but I did a lot of fascinating research for Tolkien fic, from pre-industrial weaving to Anglo-Saxon riddles and wedding rites.
7. What’s your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
Other than "absolutely any"? I love it when people comment that they're re-reading! A lot of fic is pretty ephemeral (not a diss, it's just the nature of the genre), so it's really thrilling to hear a story stuck with someone enough that they came back.
8. What’s the most fringe trope/topic you write about?
It's anonymous for a reason 😉
9. What is the hardest type of story for you to write?
Long stories. As in "I have yet to write anything longer than 30k, so I honestly don't even know if I can."
10. What is the easiest type?
Character studies via smut, aka PWP. I enjoy writing them and they don't require a lot of research (just endless editing to make sure I haven't given anyone three hands).
11. Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?
At the moment, my writing practice consists of 20-minute bursts during my morning bus ride to work or on the weekend in between chores. I feel inadequate because I can't sit down and write for a solid hour but I'm trying to convince myself that it's okay - even short spells of time add up to a decent amount of work as long as they're consistent.
Google is evil, but I still use Gdocs because I need to write online & offline on multiple devices including my phone and not worry about manually saving/collating drafts. When I'm brainstorming or writing a first draft, though, I often write by hand in a notebook.
12. What is something you’ve been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?
An AU mystery that would require not only complicated plotting but historical research, and the drawerfic sequel to a BNF's story.
13. What made you choose your username?
It was a brand new pseud for a fandom I'd never written in before, so I was literally a "no name fan."
I tag: @glorious-spoon @unstable-reality @mnemehoshiko @luciechat and @englishable!

Welcome to my Cartoon Blog!
Torra | she/her | 1992 | Autistic | Fan Artist & Author
Hello! If you’re reading this it means you’ve found my blog! Just a few things before we get started that you should know about me and what I do here.
I post about whatever cartoon is tickling my brain at the moment, and I flit between hyperfixations like I’m playing duck-duck-goose. Ed Edd n Eddy is the only fandom I have major projects in, but I partake in a lot of other fandoms too. So just know, if you follow me for one fandom, it’s bound to change.
I ramble a lot. I tend to voice my thoughts out loud randomly into the void that is tumblr just because I like to talk to whoever may be listening. If that’s not your thing, you may want to block the #torra rambles tag! Don’t worry, it won’t hurt my feelings. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and I want to do my best to make this blog enjoyable for all kinds of people.
My askbox is open, but I no longer take requests or answer head-canon related questions, but I’m happy to say hi. No Anons anymore, sorry.
If you’re just here for my art, I suggest looking for #torrasart. For any art I posted before February of 2024, I used #my art, #my doodles just FYI, but mass post editor was too confusing to change it, so I left it as is.
I try to be generally sfw, but I might still post/reblog suggestive text posts occasionally, tagged #suggestive, so minors beware...
I don’t want to have to block anybody but I will if I have to...
Please keep in mind that I have a full-time job that takes up a majority of my time and energy, but in spite of that I’m working as hard as I can to bring these projects to life. I also have pretty bad ADHD, which effects my ability to stay focused, but I’m trying. All I ask is for your patience and understanding. 💖
Ed Edd n Eddy Stuff
At the moment I have a few serious projects that I’m working on: My fan-comic, “In the Ed,” my fanfiction, “In the Sky of a Million Stars” and my most recent venture is just my unnamed Torra AU where I unleash my weird furry self-insert/OC into the cul-de-sac like a lunatic because I can’t make normal human OC’s.
IN THE ED
Horror AU, Supernatural Themes, Trigger Warning for blood and possible gore, Content Warning for language and violence.
"Nobody knew it existed. In fact this was the first time anyone had set eyes upon this hilltop manor for quite some time..." Four years after the events of the Big Picture Show, the Eds and friends find themselves in a brand new, death-defying adventure that's sure to shift the genres.

Eddy has always been a man of many fears, but above all else, his greatest fear has always been the inevitability of growing up. Now, with adulthood staring him in the face, he just can’t take it. Why couldn’t things have stayed the way they were? AU where the BPS never happened, and Eddy struggles with the changes happening around and within him. Loosely based on the song "One More Light," by Linkin Park.

Hi Steph, how do I get people to care about my fic? I know it isn’t about hits and kudos but I can’t help but feel demotivated to write more and see it as a reflection on me that I don’t get that many. I have even stopped writing for a few years and every time I have an idea I think it isn’t worth it to write it. I feel embarrassed to tag people in my fic posts also
Hey Nonny *HUGS*
I get this question often, and it hurts my heart that my lovelies think that they aren't worth peoples' time!
Honestly Nonny, there's no "magic formula", and it is part luck, part self promotion and part tagging a lot of people. Never feel embarrassed about that at all! There are plenty of people who are always on the lookout for new stories, so they love being tagged! And adding your fic to other people's lists! I mean, I don't know about other people, but my blog encourages interactivity and I WANT people to self-promo on a list if they see it relates to their fic. I go back and add notes to the main post so they're seen! Send me you new fic as an ask, and I'll promote it. Seriously, Nonny, it is mostly about self promo.
When I first started in this fandom, my meta took traction because I added it on reblogs of post. That's really it. My blog evolved to a fic rec blog because there was a gap at the time, and people kept suggesting fics, or asking what I personally read, and then word of mouth spread to my blog being one of the main places to go for Johnlock fic recs because my approach to recs was unique at the time (I used to ONLY rec fics I personally read). And yeah, I feel a bit braggadocios when I refer to myself as a top fic rec blog, but my understanding comes from other people, that's all. It's my brand at this point, honestly, LOL.
So yeah, Self Promo, Nonny <3
Here's some past asks similar to yours that may also help:
Do You have advice for people just starting out writing fanfics?
I’m writing a long fic but I’m worried no one will read it. Am I writing the characters wrong?

Should I Continue Writing or Delete my Stories?
I Want To Write a Story… What If Someone Already Wrote it?
English Isn’t My Native Language; Would Anyone Read My Fics
My Writing Advice for Focusing on the Work (Goals)
Failure Nonny; I’m not feeling better about my writing
How can I stop feeling like a failure as both an artist and a writer
I’m mediocre and worried that other people will think I am a mediocre writer
Any Advice for fic writers who post their work and immediately begin to equate their self worth to the response?
How do fic authors deal with negative comments?
I deleted my fic because people were trolling. Should have I left it up? (A talk about haters)
Any advice for new authors? (With a big bunch of advice from author JBaillier)
I’m new at writing but not good at criticism. What should I do?
How Do I get People to Comment on my Fics?
Am I the only Writer who is concerned when commenters stop commenting?
REPLY: As a commenter who used to do this
And when you finish your story (or start the WIP), Nonny, PLEASE let me know! I would love to promote it my usual way (6 times minimum on viewership posts) and help you get some eyes on your writing :) EVEN if it's not Johnlock! I have a lot of multishippers who follow me here, and they're always looking for new stuff! <3

please talk more about neurodivergent mav bc it’s my reason to live n breathe fr
I'm so glad you sent me this ask, because I was asking myself, "Should I make a real post about this?" and then you came and answered the question for me.
Maverick Mitchell is Neurodivergent
Very briefly, for anyone who has questions: The term "neurodivergent" refers to someone whose brain works differently than the majority of people ("neurotypicals.") While neurodiversity is by definition diverse, there are hallmarks of neurodivergence that are common in the majority of neurodivergent people. I'm not here to make definitive statements about neurodiversity; I'm speaking about my read on one, particular character. This is an opinion post. I will also be referring to my own experience as neurodivergent, because this is not a scholarly article and it's my blog, so I'm kind of thinking of it as a 30-some-year longitudinal study.
mav·er·ick /ˈmav(ə)rik/ noun
The definition of "maverick" is, "an unorthodox or independent-minded person," which I fucking love when we're talking about Maverick Mitchell as neurodivergent, because that's literally how he got his name: By thinking differently. That is the definition of neurodivergence, and one of its hallmarks is thinking creatively.
"I'll hit the brakes; he'll fly right by."
Maverick approaches flying creatively. It serves him well, but he's censured for it more than once by authority figures who don't understand the way he thinks. "Aircraft one performs a split S? That's the last thing you should do.... What were you thinking at this point?"
Charlie doesn't understand Maverick's thought process, because it's dissimilar from her own. Neurotypicals often have difficulty understanding or anticipating the thoughts of neurodivergents, and vice versa. (Though both groups can read and predict the thought processes of members of their own group with the same level of accuracy.) Maverick has difficulty explaining his own thought process to her, which is a common neurodivergent experience, because it's loud and busy in there, and my brain just makes connections that I can't always express. A reminded me of B which reminded me of C which reminded me of D and now we're on X and it happened in a split second, and no, I'm not sure how we got here. But that's not what he tells her. What he says is: "There's no time to think up there. If you think, you're dead."
Which leads me to my next point: Neurodivergence can also account for Maverick's motto: "Don't think; just do." Many neurodivergents have strong intuitions, and they often believe their intuition first. Additionally, given the right circumstances, neurodivergents are capable of intense and sustained focus, to the point where the world outside the target just kind of fades away. Neurodivergent thinking is also characterized by being observant, detail-focused, and a good problem solver. If you're intensely focused, and that's how your brain works naturally, then you just take in all these details and the pieces of the problem, and your brain sorts it for you automatically, and you do whatever you're doing like muscle memory. Show the math. Well, I can't, but I got to the right answer, didn't I?
Impulse Control and Emotional Regulation
"Time to buzz the tower, Goose."
Neurodivergence is often characterized by poor impulse control and emotional regulation. We know Maverick has poor impulse control. There are multiple instances across the films where someone lists his many impulsive actions that felt good in the moment but resulted in negative consequences large and small. It's not that Maverick does not know that, for example, buzzing the tower will result in immediate negative consequences. This is not brand new information. He knows. It's just that the impulse to do it is stronger than the voice of logic telling him not to, and he has never learned to control his impulses. Honestly, I have no idea what this feels like for neurotypical people. I feel a difference between a want or a desire and an impulse. Like, "I want a vanilla coke right now. That sounds amazing." I feel desire, and maybe I'm disappointed if I cannot acquire the object of my desire, but it's a relatively small and manageable feeling. An impulse is not. An impulse is a huge feeling, and it's not just emotional; I feel it physically in my body, both this emotional and physical desperate discomfort that I cannot extinguish without Doing the Thing. In many instances, I know I should not Do the Thing. My brain provides all sorts of reasons why I should not Do the Thing. But that doesn't diminish the impulse at all. I cannot feel better until I Do the Thing. Often, once the high of Doing the Thing is over, I have regrets. Those regrets create kind of an impulse hangover, but this feeling (and even the knowledge that I will have this feeling in the immediate future) does not in any way dissuade me from Doing the Thing. You can learn impulse control. It is a skill you can acquire. Maverick has not acquired this skill. And neither have I.
Poor emotional regulation is another hallmark of neurodivergence. It is more difficult to begin with because neurodivergents tend to emotional extremes, so the emotions are much bigger than the ones felt day-to-day by neurotypicals.
"I will fire when I am goddamn good and ready, you got that?"
(Emotional regulation is not just about controlling your anger, but this is the example that I have at hand.) Some people have emotions. My emotions have me. They pilot this craft. I am years into actively working on emotional regulation, and a lot of the time I find myself completely controlled by my feelings, and not the other way around. Maverick has this problem, too. Was his reaction to Sundown above appropriate and proportional to the situation? Probably not. Was it necessary to jump in Ice's face in the locker room after a brief argument? Probably not. But if you don't run your emotions, they run you.
He also has the correlating problem, which is numbing yourself out. Your emotions are too big and you can't control them, so you swallow them, push them down so far that all you feel is numb. Empty. Hollow. It can be like a seesaw: Emotions get too big, cause you distress, so you suppress them; now you feel numb. The other long-term problem with poor emotional regulation is that if you don't deal with your emotions, you can't get rid of them. The treatment for PTSD is processing your trauma. Unpacking it, dealing with every detail, feeling every bit of emotion that's attached. (I just did this last year. It's called prolonged exposure therapy, and it is absolutely the hardest thing I have ever done on purpose.) In the first film, Maverick is still carrying the trauma of his parents' death; in the second, he's still carrying the trauma of Goose's death and losing Bradley. If you don't process your trauma, you have to keep it. That's what PTSD is.
Differences in Social Skills and Awareness
This is where I started the discussion of Mav being neurodivergent the other day. A lot of Maverick's problems with the establishment of the Navy can be attributed to neurotypicals not understanding his creative thinking, or to problems caused by his poor impulse control and emotional regulation, but I think most of it is probably attributable to this. Neurodivergents socialize differently than neurotypicals, and they often have difficulty reading the nuances and unspoken cues of neurotypical social situations. Cain asks Maverick why he hasn't been promoted above captain, and Maverick tells him that he's, "where he belongs" (meaning he doesn't want to stop flying full-time), but in truth ranks above captain require a lot of diplomacy, tact, and social sensitivity, and these are not skills Maverick has. (Which is not a bad thing, unless he's trying to do Ice's job. They have different skill sets; that's not where Maverick belongs.)
Navigating the social minefield of the Navy is more of a large picture issue, so I think that the best examples of Maverick's differences in social skills and awareness are small moments.
"I believe the admiral is asking a rhetorical question."
Maverick does not pick that up. He knows what a rhetorical question is, and he adjusts his behavior when Warlock clues him in, but Maverick cannot pick up the small, unspoken cues that Cyclone is giving to indicate it is a rhetorical question. Maverick takes Cyclone's speech in a very straight-forward manner: He asked a question, so I'm going to answer the question. Neurodivergents often take speech at face value, having difficulty with figures of speech such as metaphor and colloquialisms, because they expect people to say what they mean and mean what they say. There are other cues that neurodivergents pay attention to when communicating, but they're emotional and intuitive, not social or situational. Neurodivergents tend to express themselves honestly and so expect honesty in return. Euphemisms and pussyfooting for the sake of niceties or any other reason is not a natural instinct in neurodivergent communication. "Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass." Sussex Fall Mid-term Grade: As Expected "F" for Failure by u/Cultural_Ad4935
Sussex Fall Mid-term Grade: As Expected, "F" for Failure It’s an American Riviera Failure, arf! Is anyone else relishing the PR fallout from Harry’s latest Worldwide Privacy Tour and Meghan’s LoCal-ized Privacy Tour? You’d think Harry clocking in 20,000 miles and embarking on a three-week meet-and-greet would generate some positive publicity for a low-level celeb. In theory, it should…But not for the Dumbartons. Nope, Harry’s travel plans were so ill-conceived and poorly executed that no regular person will remember where he was and why he was there. That’s because his “mission,” if we can call it that, is both scattered and purposeless. People have no clue why he’s showing up and who he’s supposed to be representing. Is it Archewell? Is it Sussex? Is it just call me ol’ Harry? And for the completely uninitiated, is he representing the Crown? After all, he is still using his title and producing a pretentious “public schedule.” It’s unclear why this destructive fool would be given any time to speak about partnerships and collaboration when he’s done the exact opposite. And instead of calling attention to a singular important cause while on tour that could have some impact, he makes the trip just a sad, one-man vaudeville act. A farce, a means by which to sell his snake oil “brand” and continue to grift. It’s who he is and nothing more. And rather than working tirelessly for the cause after his tour, he goes AWOL while abroad for over a week and counting.Meanwhile, Meghan was forced to stay back and was left to her own devices (yes, shivering at the very thought). It was a disaster in a red dress. With no big event to attend, she crashed a couple of local fundraisers for publicity. It didn’t work. Not invited on Harry’s trip. Not invited to Reese Witherspoon’s Shineaway Conference (Reese had proper security). Meghan is back home licking her wounds.Their latest PR stunt is an October surprise because even we didn’t think it could go so badly. After a thorough assessment of their efforts and results, Harry and Meghan get an “F” grade. It’s now anyone’s guess what they’ll attempt to do to upstage the King’s Australian tour. But if their track record is any indication, their next stunt will be quite a doozy that is sure to boomerang back to them. Welcome!
hi, you can call me mayor or delia, formerly known as mayordoi. i'm an aroace artist who really likes kagamine rin and robin fire emblem. this account is where i post art i make :) while i wanna keep it focused on that, i will still answer any asks that come my way!
things of note
art tag -> #mayor doidles
my carrd (contains all my main important links in one place)
my "main" blog (which appears in notifs when i like a post or follow someone) is @mayordeas-clone. that account is where i just reblog things.
reposting my art is permitted as long as you fully credit me 🙏🏻 you can reblog and all that ofc
personal use is okay!! :D for things like pfps, just credit me somewhere
some more detailed things about me below the cut :]
what i draw
i draw a lot of fanart of whatever interests me! so please don't follow me if you only want to see fanart from one thing lol. all pieces considered fanart can be found in the #fanart tag.
the most consistent subjects i draw is vocaloid (mainly the mascot characters and how they appear in different songs) and fe awakening (mainly robin, of either gender).
i also have ocs that i might occasionally subject you to. you can read detailed info about them on my toyhouse (linked in my carrd). by the way, all art of my oc can be found in the #mayors ocs tag~
supplies and brushes!
in case you're curious about the things i use to make my art, here it is. i like making both traditional art and digital art depending on how i feel.
traditional supplies
paper - i almost always draw in sketchbooks. for full colored pieces, i'm fond of strathmore's visual journal sketchbooks (the ones i'm using atm are mixed media). for on-the-go sketches and doodles, i use a notebook with dotted paper, nothing fancy. sketching - i like using a red grading pencil (essentially a waxy colored pencil with an eraser) for sketching since markers and paint blend into it which means less erasing. i also use a regular mechanical pencil or gel pen for concept sketches or doodles. inking - there's a lot of inking tools i like! i like using staedtler pigment liners for simple lines and hatching, as well as tombow brush pens for quick line weight. markers - my primary coloring tool. while they're not perfect, i primarily use ohuhus; they're great if you're starting out since they're quite cheap! i also use a grab-bag of other marker brands like tombow or copics, but those are my mains. colored pencils - prismacolors, baybee!! i mainly use these for lineart and additional shading and texture. paint - also far from perfect, but i use the himi jelly gouache for paintings even though i'm kinda ass at it. i also used to use a very crusty windsor & newton watercolor kit. as for brushes, idk i inherited most of mine and they work fine.
digital stuff
program - i use procreate on an ipad to draw digitally. i know it's basic but it gets the job done for me default brushes i like - among the brushes that come with procreate, the ones i like are: HB pencil (sketching), 6B pencil (sketching), technical pen (inking), gel pen (inking), honeyeater (vintage), and campagnia (vintage). would like to make a detailed brush list eventually TwT brush packs i like - i download a lot of brushes, but these packs are ones i absolutely swear by. all are free! jingsketch basics is a must-get for anyone that likes digital painting. i use "soft chalk" to render. rusty rakes is a set of textured line brushes i love to use to add extra hatched textures to my paintings. mainly rely on rr dark. i also use a halftone brush to add texture to my art, but unfortunately i cannot find it or the author! will update when i do~
anyway
thank you for reading. this post might get updated in the future when i think of more stuff to add or change. i would add a new and improved meet the artist, but to be honest i don’t really have a “sona” anymore 😅 maybe yall don’t get to meet me…
bye bye!!

Couple of thoughts on the changing social media landscape etc...
This blog is, and always has been, a public/mostly professional space. The nature of Tumblr means I can have sideblogs for personal venting and off-topic posts, as many of them as I want, and this blog is fairly carefully curated to be a public-facing page. My mum looks at it sometimes, after all, so anything I post has to be something I'm willing for her to see.
(Note: I think sideblogs and stuff are very important. Everybody needs a space on the internet where they're not being observed by colleagues, supervisors, managers, readers, anyone to whom they owe professional responsibility. A place to be Weird and know that it's not going to impact on their job the next day. If you don't yet have those spaces and you're someone who uses the internet in a professional capacity, I recommend creating them; it's freeing. If you think you've found somebody else's sideblog and they haven't indicated that they want to share it with you, it's polite to pretend you don't know and let them have their Weird Place Space in peace.)
This is a LESS professional space than, say, my website, and I have different rules for myself than I did on other social media. My Twitter policy has long been not to swear on there, and to keep my account reasonably suitable to be read by teenage readers, current/future employers, and other authors alike. Here, I tend to keep my own swearing to a minimum but I'm more relaxed about sharing others' sweary content, and I'll reblog slightly more risqué things (usually relating to the vampire novel).
I've been happy with that balance. It's a place people can follow me as an author, as an academic, and as a person, and get a reasonable mix of my research, my thoughts, and updates on my books, without being unduly formal and without me ever feeling like I couldn't be myself here. And it's a place where I both create my own material and share that of others, tending towards sharing things that are educational or that relate to my own work, but also just vibing.
I've always known, though, that this was not a space for publicity per se. While I do share links to my books here and I know that a few people have bought TBA, I've never been under any illusions about the possibility of Tumblr as a place to advertise myself. Nor do I WANT to do that. Honestly, I've come to resent the pressure to use Twitter as a "brand", as a "promotion" opportunity, when for years it was just a place I hung out as a person. But I'd rather do that there than here, partly because it actually worked there.
If this truly is the decline of Twitter, I don't mind my online socialising becoming more Tumblr-focused. I'm sad about the loss, because I think I'll lose a lot of academic community and opportunities to learn that I previously found on Tumblr, and it's going to be a lot harder to connect with other authors, but it won't be impossible; I have both academic and author friends here. But what I DON'T want is for Tumblr to have to become my Professional Space to the detriment of the fun, low-key vibe I've had going here for the last 11 years.
I'm worried that, if all of my professional contacts migrate here, I will have to start putting a mask on here as well, and I'll feel more pressure to self promote. It'll start to feel like the chore that other social media has become ever since I got published and have had to start using the internet As An Author and not just as a person who also writes books. I am very happy for more people to join this site, but I don't want the side effect of that to be that suddenly all my colleagues are here and I'm in Work Mode all the time.
One of the things I've found hardest about the internet in recent years is the switch from what it was in my teens (place to be weird and unique and unselfconscious) to what it is now (place where I'm expected to be professional and might be observed by my boss, academic colleagues, publisher, readers etc at any time). And Tumblr was for a long time the last bastion against that, even if my mum looks at it. I'll be sad if that goes, because all the sideblogs in the world won't help if actually being here starts to feel like something I do for work.
Crucially, I think the problem is that for career reasons, I need something that does for me what Twitter was doing, but also I was not enjoying that aspect of Twitter and it was not feeling like a fun place to do that, so what I REALLY need is for my career not to rely on me managing to virtually hand-sell my book to people on the internet while I'm just trying to live my life...
Anyway. Just something I'm thinking about as I face down the possibility of this being the main place where I as an author can communicate with potential readers. I don't really want it to be... that, but it might have to be that, and I'm going to be thinking hard about how I navigate that.

Internet Archive Link
Hey everyone! I'm updating this blog once again to let everyone I've made the novelization available in its entirety on the Internet Archive, so anyone can read it whenever they want. After all, if this really is the only copy of the book in the entire world, it belongs somewhere it can be preserved forever, so that future scholars may one day ruminate on the life and times of the Brand X Mashed Potato Man.
Thank you to anyone who's read even a single post of this blog- I really wanted to catalogue ALL the differences between the movie and the novelization, so there's a definitive comparison online somewhere of just how different the two are. Besides that, I've always wanted to write a blog about an obscure movie novelization- and what better to do than the novelization of Foodfight!, one so obscure nobody had EVER written about it before (and will probably never write about again)? This was a lot of fun for me, but now we've analyzed every chapter and I've compared it to the finished film, I think we're done with it. We put together a lot of pieces of the Foodfight! puzzle with the novelization, the storyboards and everything else- and sure that puzzle isn't completely solved yet, but maybe it will be someday. Who can say what the future holds? For now, I'm satisfied with having found and documented a far superior version of Foodfight! for everyone to enjoy.
Unless something crazy happens in the future, like I get an interview with a cast member, or I find some other long-lost piece of media relating to the movie (like the tie-in videogame; now THAT seems to be truly lost), I think this marks the end of our journey. I hope this blog answers all your questions, and I sincerely hope you loved accompanying me as we solved the mystery of this long-lost novelization together. So from me, Tiffany Amber, this is goodbye...for now. Maybe this cookie crumb trail isn't completely dry yet?

I love Ryouichi Ikegami’s style a whole damn lot because you could pick any panel of his and it’d make for a perfect reaction picture because he draws characters like this:

I think it's neat when characters, regardless of gender, age or anything else, are pathetic but less in a "spineless harem isekai self-insert" and more in a "couple (literal or metaphorical) years away from a middle age crisis, dark circles around the eyes that contribute to making them look like a raccoon too tired to sift through the trash, which they can't even afford anyway" kind of way, you feel me

can u explain why AI art is bad without fearmongering, moralizing or bootlicking lol
I'm going to answer in good faith, even though the tone you're using sounds like you're harboring anything but. The issue with AI art isn't specifically inherent to the tools used to produce it, because, ultimately, a tool is merely that: something devoid of will which, in the hands of a human, can produce a specific outcome. It's the human element that taints what we could otherwise enjoy for the unquestioningly fascinating topic that is AI art and, by extension, AI software as a whole.
Now, the problem isn't people, period, but the kind of people that are responsible for giving AI the bad rep it's been getting, along with the intent that goes into both the development of AI tools and the things produced by dint of said tools. I'm talking about the tech bros happily rubbing their hands, waiting to provide business moguls with a brand new means to commodify and mass-produce what artists stake their entire livelihoods upon, because when you have enough zeroes lined up in your bank account, your eyes are utterly blinded to the soul and personality that human beings put into their handiwork, and which a machine won't ever be able to reproduce no matter how much stolen art you feed it. Oh yeah, by the way, that's how AI art tools have been making the rounds: by chewing on thousands upon thousands of stolen pictures made by actual people so that they may learn how to ape someone's style and spit out absolutely soulless derivatives, while the original authors don't see a lick of recognition or monetary retribution for any of it. Do I need to tell you why stealing and parading someone else's art as your own is a terrible, vile thing to do?
But sure, you did ask me to refrain from "fearmongering, moralizing or bootlicking", which I guess I've already done. So since you'd rather I skipped straight to the point in a concise manner, lemme offer some quick examples of why the culture surrounding AI art has already developed into one of the most abysmally disappointing displays of how greed and an utter lack of human decency can ruin something objectively brimming with possibilities:
Less than a week after the sudden death of Korean artist Kim Jung-gi, someone trained an AI model to mimic his artstyle, having the audacity of asking for credits if anyone wished to use it. I sincerely hope I don't have to explain to you why this is a ghoulish example of the kind of tone-deafness sported by tech bros who buy wholesale into the AI art craze.
A piece of AI art was submitted to an art contest and won. The "artist"'s work amounted to little more than picking a series of prompts and letting the machine do the work. It's as much art as googling a smattering of terms and making a collage of pictures taken from Pinterest (and even then, you would have put more work into it than this person did). That they won at all says a whole damn lot about how abysmal the respect given to artists - real artists - nowadays is.
There are a multitude of people out there already selling prints of AI-generated art. I could link some of them here, but honestly, type "ai art prints" on a search engine and you'll get inundated by them. I've seen and personally know artists who have had to undersell their works because commissions were the only thin, frayed string they could hang on in hopes of making it through the week without fucking starving themselves, but here we are: any random asshole can now yell "MASSIVE BREASTS, THIN WAIST, COCKTAIL DRESS, HUGE BADONGAS" at a computer, let it mash together a trillion of other people's hard work, and print it for easy bucks that the actual authors of the basic ingredients of their insipid soup will never, ever see a dime of.
It really bothers me that you mentioned "no bootlicking". Whose fucking boots is this side of the debate supposedly tasting? That of the artists who post every day about how angry, sad and terrified they are by the prospects of what the development of AI art will entail for their livelihood and passion? What kind of gall did your mother birth you with that you have the spiteful spunk to type that word, when you've got shit like an artist who had their sketch stolen while they were drawing it on stream, then fed to an AI and posted by someone passing it off as their own art? How does that not ignite your indignation? "Bootlicking". Like anyone's tongues have been tasting leather but those of the same tech bro chodes who kept trying oh so hard to convince us NFTs were the future while ruining the environment to make the absolute stupidest point ever made in the history of humanity.

Since Tumblr wants to be a bitch, here’s a timestamped link to the jugglers doing working their magic in front of the Pope while Megalovania plays in the background. No this wasn’t edited. It’s a livestream

Why Podcasting is the Secret Weapon for SEO and Personal Branding
Hey Tumblr fam! 💫 If you’re in the game of growing your brand, you’ve probably tried everything—ads, blogs, social posts. But have you ever thought about podcasting? It’s not just for entertainment; it’s a powerful tool that can transform your SEO and elevate your personal brand.
You see, podcasting is like having a long, deep conversation with your audience. It builds trust, something that’s nearly impossible to achieve with a 30-second ad. And trust? That’s what converts followers into loyal customers.
The SEO Magic of Podcasting
Let’s dive into the SEO side of things. We all want to rank high on Google, right? But SEO can be a tough nut to crack. The good news? Podcasting can give you a major boost. Every time you appear on a podcast, you’re getting a backlink to your site. That’s like SEO gold! 🌟
Here’s how it works: Imagine you guest on 100 podcasts. Each one of those episodes links back to your website. Google sees all those backlinks and thinks, “Hey, this person must be important!” Your site starts to rank higher, and suddenly, you’re getting more traffic than ever before.
And it gets better. You can take the transcript from each podcast episode, turn it into a blog post, and boom—now you’ve got even more content that’s searchable. Your SEO goes through the roof, and all you had to do was talk about what you love.
From Podcasts to the Big Screen
But podcasting isn’t just about SEO. It’s about sharing your story and building your authority. I’ve seen it happen firsthand. During the pandemic, I wrote a book and started guesting on podcasts to promote it. Little did I know that this would lead to something big—like Hollywood big 🎬.
After being on hundreds of podcasts, my story caught the attention of a major motion picture studio. That’s right, a movie deal, all from sharing my journey on podcasts.
And it’s not just me. We helped Fred Joyle, the creator of 1-800-DENTIST, get on over 75 podcasts in just one month. The result? His book became a bestseller, and his speaking gigs took off like never before.
Don’t Go It Alone: The Importance of Professional Podcast PR
Now, a word of advice: If you’re serious about your brand, don’t try to handle your podcast PR on your own. It’s like trying to sell your house without a realtor—not a good idea. Podcasting is all about relationships, and that’s where a good PR agency comes in.
At Podcast Cola, we’ve spent years building relationships with top podcasts. We know how to get you on the best shows and make sure you shine. We even guarantee placements—something you won’t find with most PR firms.
Affordable, Guaranteed Results
So, how much does it cost to get started? Traditional PR can cost a fortune, with no guarantees. But we offer full-service podcast PR for just $1,497 a month, with unlimited pitches and placements. It’s an incredible deal for anyone looking to grow their brand 🎉.
If you’re ready to see what podcasting can do for you, let’s chat. We offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if podcasting is right for you. Head over to PodcastCola.com to book your call and start making waves in the podcasting world.
