are there any rvb fics you still think about all the time? like i dont think a week goes by without thinking abt qed and how it def changed me on a molecular level, do you have any fics like that?
oooh good question. the most important fic is at the bottom of this post so just scroll to the final paragraph if you only want one, true recommendation of the only rvb fic that really matters.
QED is fantastic though its more of @shotgunslap's thing than mine. the partner to that is also obviously QoQ, the only rvb fic ive been able to make almost all my friends read. i think about the south/north characterization every day of my life. caboose and carolina mean so much to me, etc etc. thats a pretty easy pick though so im cracking into my ao3 bookmarks to look for more niche picks.
i know there was actually a lot of rvb fic that was just posted to tumblr that i think ive gone back and tried to reblog at some points but i never organized it, i should have archived it, people who wrote good femslash and rvb women liked to just post it under a readmore on their tumblrlog and you have to go digging through decades old tags to find it now
okay. the big one i actually do still think about all the time forever and ever is saltsanford's stuff about epsilon/wash's relationship. this is the big one i still think about that centers on their backstory, but also, put my guns in the ground, which is one of the Big fandom tuckington longfics, also has such good washpilon stuff in it and they're so fucking juicy. when tucker asks wash how many times he's broken his ribs and he says four and epsilon says "actually it was five" before realizing How Bad of a Move that would be. Hello? Hello?????? i want them to be forced to reimplant and have weird mind brain trauma sex SO BAD sorry im normal. this is another one that takes place during/after the chorus era
on the spectrum of fics that i actually dont yet feel ashamed reccomending, primtheamazing, who wrote QoQ, also wrote some other good stuff. i am a HUGE fan of this fusion fic, the punchline to the tucker/caboose fusion is HYSTERICAL. this one where grif forgets who simmons is due to temple shennanigans and flirts with him is also very like. trope-y but i like that shit so this goes here too
ok. now onto the stuff that it is actively embarrassing for me to be recommending. but. prim's logrimmons fic is hysterical and was the stepping stone to creating the lolixgrimmons mind palaces with my friends so its worth it just for that. but also its really fucking funny. so is the one where locus has to listen to them have sex and gets himself caught
the truly embarrassing one for me to have here is the piece of softboy grimmons content i participate in. sadly i do enjoy s15 content sometimes for the softboy grif sensitive emotions exploration i will admit to being a hypocrite there and i really liked that one and reread it frequently (just realized this is written by the QED person so! you might already know of it)
and then finally. the most important red vs blue fanfiction of all time, guns are for shooting. it has it all. sarge. washington. sarge again. kismesisitude. grif and simmons acting like rosencrantz and guildenstern (are dead). locus being invisible and getting caught by lopez with a bag of flour. it's written by the person who wrote QED. You want to read it right now. Read it right now. READ IT RIGHT N
wait no the cute bit about sarge declaring war on gravity and upending a bag of flour onto lopez isnt in guns for shooting. what fic is that from
#its mainly mx qed relationshipcrimes and mx qoq primtheamazing who are my favorite writers it seems#so anything there is pretty good#oh on the cute grimmons level i also like 'What kind of trash dragon'#which.. might be written by prim? i know they have a few orphan fics floating around out there#including uh. green is a shade of red which i havent read but know is a good red team locus fic that they wrote and then orphaned

“Treat me like a joke and I’ll leave you like it’s funny.”
Yoo what’s good! The name is Milo, Milo Sancour. Uhh you may of heard of me on the news about me and Jigsaw and all that shit but I’m here so, next topic. (FUCK that freak.)
I go by any pronouns because I don’t really care what you refer to me as.
Uh I’m straight..
Don’t take it to heart if I’m bitchy or anything. Personally I just tell it like it is. If you don’t like my honesty, then leave.
I’m pretty awkward and don’t always reach out first due to that.. but feel free to reach out to me. Or don’t, I don’t mind what you do, I’m not needy.
I’m in college, again.. for marine biology. Uh it’s really embarrassing of how much I like it..
Anyway, thanks for your time. Hopefully I’ll see you around…
(Admin ^^)
ALR I DID IT ^^
My name is Lexi but you can call me Lex.
My other acc: @ll3xx
I was really scared making this because it’s my first time, so I apologize in advance if I do something wrong. Feel free to let me know what I did wrong😭!
I AM actually super awkward with interacting with people because I really don’t know exactly HOW to.
I am okay with NSFW asks.
But just know I’m on the really young side.. so I probably don’t know what some stuff may be😭
Errr I go by she/ her and I am straight. I support LBGTQ tho obviously <33.
However.. Milo is probably isn’t straight. I really need a girl to just BLOW her away.
Milo’s trap was actually a fan favorite.. RVB (reverse bear trap).
Instead of Amanda’s trap, she hand to slide her hand into spinning blades to get the key, in 1 minutes 30 seconds. Which also brings me to her always acting quick. She always tries to help others once she hears about a situation, she can either help or make it worse. Either way she tries.
Again sorry if I mess up!
So that’s about it, hopefully some of you will consider interacting!!!

23. carrying the other one in their arms; for burke/vicki?
absolutely! technically this is from the rvb universe, just ... before Roger shows up again.
Vicki must have fallen asleep, because she was waking up now – Burke taking Hamilton’s Mythology out of her hands and setting it on the side-table, the noise of the fire-irons as he put out the fire in the grate. She couldn’t remember anything from what she’d been reading; the hour was late and she ought to have been getting to bed – thinking that, Vicki closed her eyes again, and started drifting –
only to find herself picked up, and carried through the warm darkness towards the stairs.
“I’m awake,” she murmured, not particularly feeling it. More that she ought to be making the effort, after a week of being laid up with a turned ankle that really wasn’t even turned – a quarter-turned, she’d told her doctor, making a weak joke of it. “I can walk. It’s been a week.”
“And two weeks since you tripped while you were out with David.”
Vicki said she was fine, and the one hadn’t led to the other. Burke scoffed, not unkindly. “That’s not what the doctor said.”
“And I didn’t need to go to the doctor.”
“You were hurt.”
“It’s not even a real sprain,” she said.
But Burke only nodded, saying he was glad for it, then: “I blame myself, you know. If you hadn’t been in such a rush to get me to bed, well –”
Vicki turned her head into his shoulder. “You’re embarrassing me.”
“But you blush so prettily.” She could hear the wicked look in his voice, reminding her of where his hands were on her back, her knees. “And besides, you weren’t lying when you said you’d missed a step on the stairs. The whole truth’s between you, me, and the banister.”
She said his name, reproachingly, and he let it go, climbing the last few steps in silence.
On the landing, Vicki looked up – the fourth floor, the places in the house she scarcely ever went. A part of her still felt it was a waste, having a home with space no one used – something that was all right for the Collinses of the world, with their disused dining rooms and sitting rooms and ballrooms and bedrooms, adding up into whole empty wings – but not for her. Graduates of the Hammond Foundling Home didn’t have spare rooms.
“Burke,” she said, quietly, and waited until he hummed in acknowledgment to continue, “Burke, when do you ever get used to all of this?”
“A decent roof over your head?” He put her down on the bed and kissed her temple, before heading into the bathroom. She heard the sounds of the sink and the toothbrush.
“We could have had a decent roof over our heads for a quarter of the price of this place.”
“I guess the other three-quarters went to the garden and four floors,” he replied – mostly, around the toothpaste. There was relative quiet, and then she heard the sink again. Burke returned, and sat beside her. “Something’s on your mind.”
“Nothing, really. Just –” she gestured at the room, with an inventory that would have seemed impossible to her a few months before: full shelves, full closets, full of things. The too-large bed against the wall. The vanity mirror that she had begun to stick ticket stubs in, like the main character of some teen movie: she’d been all these places. It was all real.
She just – hadn’t thought about it so much, when she was darting in and out of it all day – but being trapped in here for a week? With only her thoughts for company between breakfast and dinner? She’d written a self-pitying letter to Mrs. Stoddard about being stuck in her own house, then torn it up, remembering her audience. The next letter had been a much more cheerful one.
She couldn’t really complain of feeling like a prisoner in the house to Burke, either. Vicki wondered how to get out of mentioning it, but he seemed to realize what she’d meant. “How about the movies tomorrow, then?”

Stumpy, my dear friend Stumpy, I am wishing you strength in this trying winter weather. Do you perhaps have a favorite fictional ai and maybe some thoughts on them? Also, gotta get you back and ask about your favorite caffeine fix?
Hi hiiiii oh my god hii hello!
Speaking of caffeine, I have coffee right now. Coffee forever. Espresso as a treat. Beans as fuel to make it through work.
Now onto your question. Do I have a favorite fictional ai? Me? with the ai tag? with the ai fusion/possession stuff ? and the brain problems? and the fanfic?
anyways I will embarrass myself below the readmore.
AI favs from like 2003 to Now are Cortana, Some versions of Church RVB, Glados, Nick Valentine, Roland, BT-7274, Murderbot if it counts, basically anyone who isn't Wheatley or Guilty Spark (but I still appreciate them and their roles in the games they appear in.) Transhumanism dude, othering...metaphors...waves hand.
Anyways the current brain problems are latched onto Roland. Just answering this ask makes me want to play SpOps again. He’s my favorite guy but to find his content you have to Dig.
Roland falls into the halo trope of sassy ai but he's also got some really fun aspects we should explore more. He's got a strict moral code but it really depends on him, in a way? Halo 5 he’s not included in the Cortana conversation and is rightfully upset that they’re “throwing her out the airlock” because she lived too long? In SpOps, he goes to confront Halsey about her betraying Captain Lasky's trust and then is strong enough to fight and win an override code which is then never addressed again. But then he gets bored, crashes Spartan Ops, and doesn't even warn them about his plans when the planet is breaking apart around them. Cortana at least tells Chief when he isn't going to like something.
SpOps is a bit of a slog but the dialogue drives me insane and the actors are obviously having fun with it. The AI that is running your ship and constantly keeping you alive is bullying you because he’s bored. Miller and Roland make each other worse and I am going to make them even worse.
I feel like I need to credit and praise Katwylder and Iron and Gold in here because her work has inspired many many ideas and basically her writing and parts from Fall of Reach are how I describe AI stuff. If you like my stuff you will love hers.
^He’s making ex-girlfriend jokes to the fleet admiral. Halo Ron Perlman. The closest thing Master Chief has to a dad.
I’ve gotten very attached to this funny little hologram and written way too many words about him. AI and Roland are very interesting to me and I wish we could see more. He’s so young compared to the others and he’s stuck on the ship with the worst luck. He’s definitely going to have an atypical service record and also maybe be kind of weird/ fucked up from integrating with the forerunner engines they bolted onto the Infinity.
A...I.... I’m going insane on tumblr instead of the privacy of discord dms but I’ve done a lot of noodling on them during quarantine and being enabled to try writing. No matter the media, the idea of an inhuman being that operates on another timescale than us, but is duty-bound to make sure humans come to no harm and the interactions that follow are wonderful. Yes we will packbond to the voice in the computer while we hurdle through space. Yes human behavior is a mystery, you could read all of the theory and have access to all of recorded history but it still won’t explain why the humans act the way they do.
AI! you call their name to get their attention and they rewatch the last few minutes of video, take note of your vitals, expression, and body language, review your recent conversations for clues and details about your mood, look at your calendar to know your schedule, and know when you last ate, slept, etc and how well. they know everything, or as much as possible, but they still cannot predict human behavior, because it isn't really a science, but they can try. It’s a sentient being on an entirely different scale and so far from human but also not a cold unfeeling machine.
I’ve been entirely too open in this post. Do not perceive me. I’m still close to burning the house down over Infinite.
#asks#hi hii i am not tagging this its all insane rambling#ai tag#crab text#biohazarddisposalprocedure#flynn friend tag#hi Doomy my friend doomy#im cringe but im free#this is the tip of the iceberg#I'm usually worse#Roland

this blog going to be ten years old this year (what the fuck) and i was thinking about old art so i decided i might as well go through my archive and pick the one piece per year that i either remember being most proud of or that looks the least embarrassing now in the year 2022
2012 was the year i started to kinda... think about getting back into art, where i started trying again. lots of supernatural art here obviously. had no idea what i was doing. shaded with black. yep. (original post)
2013... more spn, lol. this was the year i did the big bang! i still feel pretty ok about this. i like the nebula. (original post)
2014 is the year that i REALLY kicked my ass into drawing nonstop all the time. ALL the time. this is also the year that i really truly solidified my wash design, and also the year i started caring about rvb a lot again. and the year i started working on S11 au. (original post)
2015 was... weird? idk, i looked back through 2015 stuff and it all felt so disconnected, idk how to feel about it. i guess it was kind of a transitional year or something. (original post)
2016. ah! this art. this is still my icon on my main blog, even though there’s art i’ve done that i like way more. this felt like such a huge accomplishment to me at the time, i was SO proud of it, and i’m still proud of it even though it gives me the “agh old art” emotion. (original post)
2017 was a year where i feel like i made a lot of leaps and bounds. this art is something i’m still pretty proud of too, and possibly the thing i have the most notes on? idk, i work pretty hard to not pay attention to notes. in any case, Socks™ is eternal. (original post)
2018! dnd art! this year was SO fucking hard to choose from, i drew so much cool stuff that i’m still very, very proud of. dear 2018!me, 2022!me is proud of you. (original post)
2019 was another weird “transitional” kind of year, i think. i still love this, though. there’s not even that much i’d change if i felt like going back to nitpick. (original post)
i actually, shockingly, drew a lot in 2020. lots of dnd sketches i really loved. this was one of the last things i drew that year, and i still love it so much - i really captured my ‘sona well here (even though... whoops, this has an updated version with a marking i’m missing, and also swearwolf’s glasses). (original post)
and i said it in my 2021 art summary post, but i’m really proud of this one. ‘nuff said. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
looking back at all of this in one place, i personally feel like my biggest jump in skill is between 2016 and 2017, but i could not even begin to formulate a guess as to why. 2016 was an absolutely awful year for me beginning to end with zero reprieve, and 2017 also sucked hard for other reasons, so... idk?? but like, whatever. anyways, looking at this makes me feel like i really have improved over time, lol. even though it doesn’t always feel like it.

Here I come sliding into home base on my ass as per usual. This one is different from my usual list of fics and not only because it's not even Star Wars. This one was written for the RvB Valentine's Exchange hosted by @rvbgiftexchange My exchange partner requested something with not only a less popular character but their OC too which is something I've never done before. I'm a stickler for getting everything "right" so having to ask questions and occasionally just go with my gut was hard. But it was a really nice challenge and I really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone to get this one done. Hope it's what you were looking for @nyx-the-dreamer
Fandom: Red vs. Blue
Rated: T
He sits quietly, dangling his legs off the side of roof. The sun is warm, he can feel it's heat even through the exposed bits of his bodyglove. He's on watch. What for he doesn't really know but it's loads better than being stuck in the basement listening to Sarge yell at Griff and Simmons. Or in the main room listening to Tucker walk Caboose through the rules for go fish again. Or in the control room listening to Donut spew worse entendres than Cronut ever had. Of the two, Donut is definitely the worst.
He still can't believe he's living under the same roof with these idiots. The time machine ordeal had been... messy. A few confusing months of distorted timelines, all spent in a dark prison cell somewhere on Chorus. Eventually things smoothed out and news that the Reds and Blues and saved the day once again trickled down to his personal hell. Then the bastards had showed up out of nowhere, Carson in tow demanding he be remanded to their care. He still doesn't know why. And frankly he still doesn't like any of them but Carson seems to get along with them and the food is a thousand times better so he followed along and puts up with his new "team".
"Hey."
Speaking of...
He turns to see the familiar form of his actual teammate crawling up onto the roof. Carson has always been a bit of an enigma too him. Kind, smart, and loyal to a fault. At first he had been just another teammate. Another means to the ultimate end of revenge against the freelancers and the UNSC. Now? Now he's a friend. The first he's had since... well, the first in a very long time.
"Hey." He answers. Carson sits next him, back propped against the wall and one knee cocked up while his other leg swings loose. He squints slightly, the afternoon sun shines directly against his face, casting shadows over his scarred eye. He's not sure what the scar is from. Carson doesn't talk much about his past, nor where he came from. He suspects it is the result of some childhood fight with an unfortunately armed opponent, or perhaps an animal attack. The eye itself works. Advanced cybernetics can be thanked for that but the scar is too old and too deep to be repaired. The skin would have to be dug out, replaced and grafted completely to get rid of the gouges and that simply takes too much time and money for the UNSC to afford. And at this point, the scar is a part of him. For better or for worse.
"Watcha doing?" He asks. Temple shrugs.
"Avoiding Sarge." He says. That much is the truth. He's not really keeping watch. Nothing to watch for anyway. Unless one wants to know where Tucker sneaks off too when he thinks no one is watching.
"Better stay out of the basement then. He's got Simmons and Caboose scrubbing the floor." Carson says. He snorts. Sometimes he wonders how these idiots have ever managed to survive much less actually save the whole of humanity.
"What're you up too?" He asks. He's trying. Griff and Tucker had, unfortunately made a good point months ago when they asked him what friends he actually had. At the time the answer had been none. Now, he's trying his best to be able to say he has at least one.
"Just got off Wash duty." Carson says, picking casually at his armor.
"How's he?" He asks. He doesn't really care. Agent Washington is still a freelancer. Still the enemy. He and Carolina both. But Washington is rather... different since they last met. Brain damage caused by cerebral hypoxia has made him almost childish in nature. Someone has to watch him at all times or else he'll get himself into rather avoidable situations. Temple is not allowed too watch him. Tucker and Carolina nearly shot him point blank when someone suggested it so he's been taken off the rotation. And while he's found he's no longer happy to see the freelancer's hurt, at the same time he doesn't particularly care. But everyone else does. And he's gotten good at pretending. Maybe someday he'll be able to trick himself into caring.
"He's managing to stay on one subject." Carson says. "Talks about cats. A lot. Like, fixates on cats. Which is good. That means he can string together thoughts but the fixation can be weird sometimes."
Carson is rambling now. He didn't really want to know all of this but it matters to him so he's trying to listen. Trying to care. It's not going so well. He doesn't really know what to say so he tries for something in between caring and not interested.
"Yeah?" Apparently it's the right thing to say. Carson nods enthusiastically and waves his arms around wildly.
"Yeah. Yesterday it was bullets. He's more confused when when its things like that. I think they remind him too much of the injury." He says. Temple shrugs. Bullets. Brain damage. Washington. He's alive. He should be grateful he and Carolina managed to escape his decidedly genius trap months ago. But no. That's not right. He was in the wrong. Or at least he knows he should think that. He's not sure what he thinks anymore. Thoughts about the freelancers give him a headache and he can't make himself manage more than a shrug.
"But enough about Wash. Let's talk about something else." Carson says. Temple bites back a chuckle.
"Am I that obvious?" He asks. Carson grins. It's a nice smile. Not something he gets to see everyday and he really does enjoy the times he does get to see it.
"You're allowed to not like people. You're just not allowed to try and kill them." He warns. It was meant to be funny. He knows that much but he can't bring himself to do more than smile at it. Carson frowns.
"You ok?" He asks. Temple shrugs.
"I just- I don't know. We live on a base with our enemies. These guys tried to kill us and now we're all baking cookies together and babysitting their pet freelancer like one big happy family. How are you not fucking terrified right now?" He hadn't really meant to say all of that. Carson didn't need to know or deal with his insecurities but now that its out he's curious what his teammate thinks about their situation. Carson snorts and shifts. His forest green armor catches the sunlight.
"Well, compared to the twice a year family get-togethers I've been dodging, living with these guys is pretty damn tame." He says. He shifts again and scratches at his forearm. He does that sometimes, seemingly without thought. Possibly he has an old injury that just aches sometimes. Or possibly tennis elbow from constantly pushing Donut away from the oven before he burns the entire base down.
"Besides. I'm here. So it's not all bad. Right?" He says. Temple shrugs. Yeah. He would still be in a jail cell if not for him, and at least with him around there is a familiar and kind face. At least he has a friend.
"Yeah. Not so bad I guess." He teases. Carson laughs.
"Oh is that all." He says. Temple turns to snap back but halts at the sight. Carson's face is red, an embarrassed flush standing out against his normally pale face. It not was He was expecting and suddenly he wonders if he's missed something. The smiles, undeserved loyalty, and never-ending kindness.
"Are you...? Are you making a pass at me?" He asks. The realization is sudden and jarring. How long has that been happening? Was this recent? Or had this always been the norm? Carson smiles. From below comes an annoyed snort. Temple looks down, unsurprised to see Tucker standing below them. He's leaning against the wall, either getting a breather from being inside with the others or deliberately eavesdropping. Likely both.
"Mind your buisness Tucker." He snaps. The cyan soldier looks up. His helmet is on but Temple can imagine the smirk.
"No way dude. I'm invested. He's only been doing it since for-freaking-ever ago." He snaps. Ok. Ok. So its been happening for a while than. A loose piece of debris flies across his field of vision, smacking against the Blue's head and bouncing to the ground.
"Shut up Tucker." Carson shouts. Tucker grumbles something, too quiet to hear but he turns and steps inside, the door shutting behind him. It's quiet again, the late afternoon sun shines brightly on its way down. Temple doesn't really know what to say at this point so he heaves a deep breath and peers at his companion.
"So...?" He asks. Technically Carson never replied. Never confirmed nor denied so technically he's the one that is supposed to speak next. Instead, his teammate stands, brushes himself off and shoots him a grin.
"Think about it. We'll get there." He says. He doesn't wait for a reply, turning and walking off to the doorway. It shuts behind him and Temple is left by himself.
He sits quietly, dangling his legs off the side of the roof. The sun is sinking low, it's warm touch fading, he can feel the cool air of evening even as his bodyglove's temperature regulation kicks in. He's on watch though he probably should have traded out long ago. What he's watching for he doesn't really know but it doesn't really matter either. It's loads better than being stuck in the main room listening to Tucker tease him about his years of blindness. Or in the basement listening to Griff and Simmons snigger at him. Or, worst of all, in the control room listening to Donut spew horrible entendres than he'll never be able to forget.
No. It's better out here. Out here he can think. He can watch. He can wait.
And out here, he can smile.

Writer tag game
I was tagged by @novantinuum !
Author Name: I’m Infriga on tumblr but I go by Ppleater on AO3 because it’s a username I liked to use in the past lol.
Fandom(s) you write for: Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, and in the past I’ve also written one or two things for Red vs Blue, Gintama, Chuck, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, and SGA. Most of my older stuff is on FFN, where it will stay because it’s old and embarrassing lol. I want to write a One Piece fic some day but christ is it a hard fandom to write for. There are so many puzzle pieces and moving parts and layers to everything in the OP world that anything bigger than a oneshot is daunting. Also Luffy’s mind is an enigma so I can only imagine how difficult he’d be to write.
Where you post: AO3. I used to post on FFN years ago, but not anymore because let’s be honest, ffn kinda sucks in comparison.
Most popular one-shot: My RvB fic I guess. The long cliched title is Five Times Tucker Knew Church Was a Robot, And One Time He Forgot That Church Was Still Human. It’s not all that popular, but it got more attention than any of my older oneshots on FFN haha.
Most popular multi-chapter: My Gravity Falls fic about kid Stan and paranoid Ford, 1 Step Forward, 20 Years Back. It was my first multichapter fic, and boy was I floored by the response it got!
Favorite story you wrote: I’m really bad at picking favourites! I like both my GF fic 1 Step Forward, 20 Years Back, and my Steven Universe fic Aid to Navigation at the moment. They’re both more recent fics and I feel like I’ve shown the most improvement in writing both of them, which is part of why i like them more, but I like them both for different reasons so I can’t really choose between them.
Story you were nervous to post: Man I’m nervous posting everything I write lol. I guess I tend to be more nervous about my hurt/comfort stuff for some reason? Especially the hurt parts. Like the chapter where Stan gets thrown down the stairs by Bill in my GF fic, or the upcoming chapter 5 in my SU fic. I really enjoy writing that sort of stuff, and I love reading it even more, so I’m always a little like >:3c but I can be a wee bit sensitive about stuff I get really into writing because I’m invested in it so I’m also a little like <:3c every time, you know? Still, if there’s one thing I’ve learned by getting more involved in fandoms is that it can be worth it to just put stuff out there and own it even when I’m nervous about it, so I usually just force myself to press the post button before I can chicken out. It’s worked out pretty well for me so far.
How do you choose your titles? I’ve developed 2 main methods which, funnily enough, I used for my two recent multichapter fics.
Method 1 involves word play, such as using a pun or a saying that fits one of the themes of my fic, and I adjust it as needed it to match the story. I felt like the saying “1 step forward, 2 steps back” fit the whole portal confrontation in general, and Stan getting turned into a kid involves taking some pretty literal steps backwards, so I changed it to 20 years back to give it a de-aging spin and make it even more of a play on words. That one admittedly came pretty easy to me. I also came up with more puns, wordplay, and jokes for the chapter names to match.
Method 2 involves using symbolism. I like to figure out something I feel would be symbolic of my fic and I look for interesting and relevant terminology or topics related to whatever that symbol is. In Aid to Navigation I settled on lighthouses as the symbolic element because I felt it suited Steven’s character, since he lives on a beach, helps guide people, and literally glows. An aid to navigation is basically any structure that helps ships navigate on the ocean, which includes lighthouses in particular, and it felt really suitable for Steven’s character and the themes of the fic. Other terminology that popped up and caught my interest while looking into stuff related to lighthouses ended up serving as inspiration for the chapter names and some of the story progression.
Of course, sometimes a title just pops into my head automatically and I end up liking it right away, but that’s pretty rare lol.
How many of your stories are complete? 2 on AO3, my RvB oneshot and my GF fic, and an extra 7 oldy moldy ones on FFN which are all oneshots. I technically write more now than I used to, but while my word count has rised drastically the number of individual fics I’ve written isn’t too high yet. I just found I enjoy writing longer multichapter fics a lot.
In progress: Just Aid to Navigation at the moment. I’m the kind of person who usually likes to finish a writing project before moving to a new one.
Coming soon:
I’ve tried coming up with future projects but honestly it seems like I tend to just be sort of... Gripped with a sudden idea that just feels right. I always have tons of concepts I like, but most never actually become anything. Only a few strike me as something that I really want to turn into a story right away. I might make a series of connected oneshots for Aid to Navigation involving interactions and scenes that I couldn’t fit in due to there not being enough time to explore every character the way I wanted (like I wanted to write a scene with Lars and Steven for example, but it didn’t seem to fit anywhere), but beyond that I have no idea what I’ll end up writing.
Upcoming story you’re most excited to write: Do upcoming chapters of a current fic count? The chapters I felt most excited to write for Aid to Navigation are the next one which is already finished and awaiting the accompanying picture, titled “Red Sector”, and the following one after that, which will be titled “Leading Lights”. All I’ll say about them is that both types of lights serve as warnings.
Top five favorite authors:
I like so many damnit, it’s hard to choose!
I’ve loved everything I’ve read by @novantinuum
I’ve bookmarked a lot of GF fics by @impishnature
Same with @fanfoolishness and their SU fics
One Piece fics by @taizi are my favourites in the fandom
There’s probably more people I’m forgetting and if that’s the case I’m sorry and I love you all, but if anyone wants to see more authors I’ve read stuff by I have fic rec/fic recs/fanfic rec/fanfic recs tags (wish I could remember which one I use at a given time so I wasn’t so inconsistent about it otl. Someday when xkit is working again I’ll try to organise them better). Also I have like, 400+ bookmarks on AO3 that you can look through as well.
Tagging: Uh, I tag all the writers I mentioned above I guess, if they want to do it and if they haven’t done it already!
#tag meme#fic recs#writing#Steven Universe#Gravity Falls#I'm only gonna tag those two cause I aint tagging the rest of the stuff i've written for lol

Zombie on the Doorstep
Requested by anon, from an ask meme! Fandom is rvb and it’s tuckington, since you let me choose and i am trash lol. Sort of a modern au, Wash showing up on Tucker’s doorstep with a broken leg and covered in little cuts. Thanks so much for sending in a prompt, I really appreciate it! So sorry it’s taken so long to get out, I’ve had a very busy time having to move out of my dorm because of these coronavirus precautions. If anyone else would like to send in a prompt, feel free!
Length: 1623 words
There’s absolutely nothing on TV.
Tucker sighs, face half smushed into a couch cushion, arm extended to point the remote, and flicks through the channels one last time. Infomercials, the news, a documentary about gazelles or something, and a dumb zombie movie he’s seen about a thousand times. He settles on the zombies and ambles to the fridge for another beer.
Spending Friday night by yourself, he decides, is the fucking worst. Ever since moving to this godawful town, leaving his friends behind and working a dumb nine to five office job, he’s felt like all the life is sucked out of the world. But he didn’t do this for him. This neighborhood is safer, schools here are way better, more expensive, but better, and Junior has made new friends and is happier than he’s ever been.
Okay, so maybe not all the life has been sucked out, Tucker thinks, smiling at the family photos hung on the wall. Junior isn’t here tonight, though, he’s having a sleepover at his new friend’s house, and so Tucker is all alone, with nothing but a shitty beer and a shitty zombie movie to keep him company. He sighs again and turns the volume up, bright screen flashing around the dark living room.
About halfway through the movie, Tucker is bored out of his mind and also debating whether or not to leave the comfort of the couch for a snack. Before he can choose, there’s a knock at the door, or at least something that sounds like a knock. It’s faint and uneven and makes Tucker wonder if it was just the wind, but no, there’s definitely a shadow swaying in the window.
He slowly makes his way to door, a little voice in the back of his skull telling him to grab something to use as a weapon in case it’s a zombie.
What the hell? he asks himself. Get ahold of yourself, man, it’s a movie.
Still. He picks up his empty beer bottle. Grips the neck firmly. Just in case. He is a grown ass man and he is not afraid of zombies, he’s just. Being prepared, is all. He can’t believe he’s letting the dumb zombie movie get into his head.
The man behind the door, though he could be mistaken for someone doing his best impression of one, is not a zombie. Tucker blinks in surprise. “Wash?”
Wash is the only person in this town who hasn’t treated Tucker like a shitty outsider since moving here. It may have something to do with people treating Wash like he is also a shitty outsider. Either way, Wash is about the only person even coming close to the friend territory for Tucker. He is also the last person Tucker expected to find on his doorstep.
Wash staggers forward and makes a strained sort of moaning sound, and Tucker momentarily reconsiders the zombie theory until he gets a good look at Wash, leaning heavily against the doorframe, breathing hard, and bleeding from a gash on his forehead. He’s not the risen undead, he’s just hurt. Pretty badly.
“Jesus, Wash,” Tucker moves to support him and gently lead him inside, out of the cold. “What the hell happened, man? Are you okay?”
He’s obviously very much not okay, but after Tucker gets him seated on the couch and he takes a few deep breaths, some of the colour returns to his face.
“I kind of, um…crashed my car.” Wash rubs a hand sheepishly along the back of his neck, a nervous habit Tucker’s noticed in just the short time they’ve known each other. With the other hand, he gestures outside, though the still-open door.
Tucker looks, and, sure enough, sees Wash’s little grey sedan a little farther down the road, rendered useless with its hood bent around a tree. There is a nasty curve in the road right there, and with the strong wind that makes it hard to even pull the door closed, it isn’t difficult to imagine what happened.
Wash is apologizing, talking too fast and moving his hands, embarrassed, saying, “I just knew that you lived here from that one time I dropped you off and I’m really sorry to bother you but I was just hoping that maybe I could borrow your phone because mine sort of got broken and I just need to call a tow truck and then I’ll be out of your hair—”
“Tow truck?” Tucker stares at Wash incredulously, who is still bleeding from a thousand tiny cuts on his face and is avoiding putting any weight on his visibly swollen left leg. “Tow truck?” he repeats, “are you out of your mind? Wash, you need an ambulance.”
“No!” Wash jumps up to put himself between Tucker and his cell phone sitting on the coffee table. He lands on his bad leg and nearly crumples to the floor.
Even as Tucker helps him back onto the couch, Wash is adamant. “No ambulances. I’m not going to the hospital.”
“Well you’re sure as hell not leaving this house, then, because I know for a fact you aren’t going to look after yourself.”
Wash sighs and crosses his arms. Then he winces and uncrosses them
“You can stay here tonight,” Tucker offers, because he is just a nice person like that and definitely not because of the strange feeling in his gut that says he doesn’t want Wash to leave. For sure, it’s because he’s nice, and not that feeling, at all whatsoever. “Don’t worry about the car, we can deal with that tomorrow.”
Wash looks up at him, dumbfounded. “A-Are you sure? You don’t have to do that, Tucker, really, I’m okay. I don’t want to impose.”
I’m okay is possibly the most blatant lie Tucker’s ever heard in his entire life, but he doesn’t call Wash out on it. Instead, he says, “Dude, don’t use big words, I don’t know what they mean.”
Wash opens his mouth, probably to argue that impose is actually a relatively small word, but Tucker is leaving the room. He returns moments later with a first aid kit and a couple ice packs.
Wash tries to protest at that, too, insisting he’s fine.
“Shut up,” Tucker tells him, “I’m a doctor.”
Tucker is most definitely not a doctor, and Wash knows this, but it amuses him enough to listen and shut his mouth. He audibly holds back a groan as Tucker lifts his leg to prop it up on a throw pillow.
“I know, I know,” Tucker says, surprising even himself with how gentle that sounded. He quickly changes tone to, “But you’re supposed to elevate it so it doesn’t get all, like, swollen and shit.”
“You don’t sound like a doctor,” Wash informs him.
“Well, I don’t normally do broken bones. I specialize in love,” Tucker says, waggling his eyebrows exaggeratedly. That earns an eyeroll and a soft smile from Wash, so he counts it as a win.
He pulls out some band-aids and little antiseptic wipe thingies (okay, yeah, he’s really not a doctor), and gets to work tending the cuts on Wash’s face. The car window must have been smashed. He tries his damnedest not to make awkward eye contact with Wash while staring at his face. Wash does his part by focusing on a very interesting thread coming loose from the couch.
“There.” Tucker leans back and admires his handiwork, and gives Wash the ice packs to distribute them as he pleases. One goes to his leg, and the other, his ribs. “How’re you feeling?”
“Better,” Wash says sincerely. “Thank you Tucker.”
Tucker feels a lot more flustered than he thinks he should feel, and nods, speechless, before retreating to the kitchen.
He roots around the refrigerator for some leftover pizza. He doesn’t have a whole lot of food in the house right now, but it’s better than nothing. He can guess with a fair amount of certainty that Wash hasn’t eaten yet today. Plus, it will be a lot harder for Wash to say things to fluster him when his mouth his pull of pizza.
He snags some pain killers, too. Wash will be too proud to ask for them, but he’ll appreciate them, Tucker is sure.
It occurs to Tucker that maybe Wash is a little farther into friend territory than he thought, since Tucker knows all these things about him. He decides not to dwell on that idea right this second. Or any future seconds.
He returns, hands out the snacks and medicine, and makes himself comfortable next to Wash on the couch. Wash is lying down, tips of his hair brushing against Tucker’s thigh. It tickles, but he doesn’t mind. He reaches over the back of the couch and snags a blanket, pulling it over Wash. Wash freezes, mid-bite of pizza, but doesn’t say anything. Tucker grabs his own slice and turns his attention back to the TV, to the stupid movie.
Wash nitpicks, highlighting details that are left out, and unrealistic stunts the characters are pulling off, tentatively at first, and more enthusiastically when Tucker doesn’t discourage it. Tucker jumps at the jump scare, it is indeed called that for a reason, and he feels Wash chuckle. It’s a nice feeling, even though it’s at his expense, and he thinks maybe the movie isn’t so dumb after all.
By the time it’s over, Tucker doesn’t feel so lonely anymore. He looks down at Wash.
“That,” Wash blinks at the TV as the credits roll past, “that was the worst ending, ever. Of all time.”
Tucker smiles. Wash smiles back. Tucker has seen the movie a thousand times before and hated it, but this time, he thinks the ending seemed pretty good.

Valentine’s Day Dance
Okay, so I’m a couple hours late on this, but I made it through all the distractions to finally bring you my first completed fic in over a year! This is my gift to @mlm-benvolio for the RvB Valentine’s Day gift exchange and first time posting one of my works to Tumblr. Enjoy. (will fix formatting if needed) @rvbgiftexchange Ship(s): Grimmons w/background Docnut and Locoboose and mentioned Tuckington 1,800+ words "Dude, if you don't ask him out, I'm not talking to you ever again." The lanky red-head gave out a sharp, fake gasp at those words, closing his locker and holding the non-robotic hand to his chest and faking a hurt expression. "You wouldn't. Who else would I talk to?" "Wouldn't I?" This led to a full two minute stare-down between them both before a taller boy came by and picked up his older brother, squeezing him tight. "Tucker! I just asked Loco to the Valentine's dance!" "Okay, if Caboose can ask Loco, you can totally ask Dex," Lavernius gasped out, struggling to get out of his adopted brother's tight grasp. "Seriously, though, what's taking you so long? We all know you like him. Well, except maybe Dex himself."
Slinging his bag onto his shoulder, Richard just thought this over a bit as the three headed for the student parking lot. Passing through the commons, they noticed Franklin hugging Frank tight, but not nearly as tight as Michael had done to his brother. The blond noticed them and quickly broke the hug, dragging his boyfriend over to them. Before he could even say a word, Richard stopped him. "He just asked you out to the dance?" "Yes!! Has Dex asked you yet? Cause then we could go suit shopping together!" As usual, his younger brother was way too excited about these things than anyone had a right to be, but Franklin had always loved dressing up and going to parties. "Dude, you don't need to go out and buy a whole suit for this. Not like it's prom," Lavernius told the junior. "Just pick something nice you already have. And can someone please tell Rich here that there's no way Dex would turn him down?" Franklin's head perked up at that, looking his older brother dead in the eyes. "Rich, if he doesn't say yes, he's an idiot and in denial. He's been over for dinner more this year than the last three combined." "I rest my case. Now c'mon, I've got a baby who's probably driving my dad up the walls." Once out in the parking lot, Richard looked around for Dexter's old beater that was in this horrible, bright orange with the doors painted an even brighter yellow. Apparently having sensed his rising anxiety, F.I.L.S.S. started playing music from his relaxation playlist through the headphones around his neck that were connected to his prosthetic arm. "Thanks," he muttered to the AI before speaking up to get his younger brother's attention, giving the keys an underhand toss. "I'm gonna go find Dex. I'll be home in time to make dinner, promise." All of the other teens smiled at him as he jogged off, going up and down the rows to hopefully beat Dexter to his own car. Thankfully he'd made it just a couple minutes before the shorter senior came over, drinking a soda that he'd gotten from one of the vending machines. "Oh, hey, man. Not goin' home yet?" "Told Franklin I'd be back to start dinner. Wanted to hang out with you a bit." Dex raised an eyebrow at this but just shrugged, unlocking the car and getting in. It didn't take long for Richard to realize they weren't going to the middle school to pick up Kai. "Uhh. . . ." "Relax, she's spending the weekend with some friends at a sleepover since our parents are out of town." "So you're staying home alone? All weekend?" "Yep." Somehow this felt like the perfect opportunity to finally suck it up and ask him. No Kai around to spy on them, and nothing embarrassing to try explaining to their adopted parents. So far, so good. When they got to the Grifs' house, both teens kicked off their shoes and put their backpacks by the door, Richard setting up Halo 12 while Dexter went to the kitchen to grab some drinks and some chips. He made sure the red head was getting a thing of carrot juice, while he grabbed another soda for himself. "So, what's up? Normally you give me a heads up before showing up at my car." "Eh, just didn't wanna hear Franklin talk my ear off about matching suits with Frank or whatever. Also hoping to avoid having Tucker call me to complain how stupid it is that he can't invite Wash to the dance. Pretty likely he'd also complain about Caboose not shutting up about asking Loco out." "Are those two actually dating or . . . . ?" "Dunno. But they're definitely going to the dance together." They sat in silence for a few minutes, trying to play a couple practice games of capture the flag before deciding whether or not they wanted to do an online match. "So, uh, are you going with anyone? If at all?" "Maybe? No one's asked yet, and I'm not sure anyone would really wanna go with me. You going?" Richard just shrugged before recoiling a bit at a sudden, sharp pain in his arm. "Ow! F.I.L.S.S.!" "My apologies. I must have hit a wrong nerve trying to move the fingers." The taller teen glared down at his metallic arm for a second, going back to their game and attempting to continue the conversation. "Been thinking about it. Had sort of an idea who to ask. Besides, Sarge'd want me to go to keep an eye on Franklin anyway." "Good ol' Sarge." Feeling the AI in control of his arm in the back of his head and ready to send more shocks up his arm, Richard took a deep breath. "Do you wanna go to the dance? With . . . . me? Maybe? You don't have to, y'know, but if you want, it'd be nice. But you don't have to!" "Dick?" "Yeah?" "Course, dumbass. Who else would I go with?" About an hour later, the lanky teen found himself back home and in-between on steps in cooking dinner, Franklin bouncing in place as he sat on the counter, watching impatiently. "So?" "So what?" "Did you ask him?" "Did Rich ask who what?" Sarge asked, coming into the kitchen to see what his boys were talking about. "Richard asked Dexter to the dance this Valentine's Day," F.I.L.S.S. spoke up for the boy, knowing he was too nervous from earlier still to hold any sort of conversation. "Bout dang time, son. You been fawnin' over him for the last four years now. How late's the dance s'posed ta go?" "11:30 the latest," the blond teen answered back, their dad just nodding, knowing he could trust them both to not stay out too late. Later that night, Franklin had texted Lavernius the good news, and the two proceeded to gush over this new development together, the older of the two saying he was afraid they wouldn't ask each other out until well after they graduated in a few months. The next few days were then spent with both of them trying to pick out a classy outfit to the dance, Lavernius saying he'd probably have to take Dexter shopping if the man had any hope of looking decent. So by the time the dance was there, their entire group showed up dressed in black slacks(minus Franklin who was in white with Frank), and they all had their own solid-color button-ups. Loco and Michael tried splitting their time between the dance floor and eating snacks, while Franklin couldn't sit down from sheer excitement. Richard was too awkward to even attempt dancing, so he was glad to hang back and have some snacks with Dexter, making sure the shorter male didn't get the shirt or pants Lavernius had bought too messy. Speaking of which, he hadn't seen the darker skinned teen since getting into the main hall. This wasn't going to end well. . . . "So, probably brought this up sooner, but why did you ask me here? I mean, we're not dating or whatever Loco and Caboose are." "And you call me the dumbass. . . . I kinda thought it'd be obvious? I asked you out to the Valentine's Day dance. Should be pretty self-explanatory." Dexter nodded a bit, eating a few more bites of his snacks. "True. But I wanna hear you say it." Now Richard's face was starting to turn a similar shade of red as his hair, if just a shade darker. It wasn't a nearly full-body blush like Wash was known to get from time-to-time, but it did make his freckles blend together a bit. Just as she had last week, F.I.L.S.S. threatened to shock him again if he didn't speak up soon. Her personality had been really weird since Thanksgiving, he'd have to talk to Dr. Church about that. "I- I like you, okay? I missed you a lot after you had to leave, and then you came back and I thought things'd be like when we were kids again, but it wasn't, and it still isn't, which I think is okay, y'know? We still bicker a lot sometimes, but it's not like when we were little. And you're always there for me when I need it, and you didn't hate me when you found out about me being a boy. Still can't believe you outed me in bio, though. I know, it was an accident. But you're my best friend, and I don't think I would've wanted to ask anyone else to come with me." Taking a deep breath, he started calming down a bit. "Honestly, it was probably a good thing you had to leave cause I think even when we were kids I had a crush on you. And I don't think I could've sorted that out on my own if you were still living with us." "Huh. Good to know. I like you a lot, too. Thought about you the whole time I was gone. I mean, hard not to, considering you're why I was able to get my skin grafts. So even though you weren't around, you kinda were?" Side-eyeing the other, Dexter noticed the blush had gotten darker "So . . . are we dating now?" "I think so? If you want to, anyway." "Cool, guess I can finally do this," the heavier teen said, more of to himself, before leaning over and kissing his now-boyfriend, able to feel the heat radiate off his face from how flushed he was. It was at that moment that a bright flash got their attention, making them look up and see the overhead balcony where one Lavernius Tucker Church stood with his phone out, cheering in triumph. "Finally! I've waited four years for this!" he cheered before running off to find his younger brother for safety. "Wha- Tucker, no, I wanna dance with Loco more!" the younger boy tried telling him, as he tried climbing up his back and onto his shoulders. Lavernius just reassured him it'd just be for a little bit, to protect him from Dexter. "Okay, Tucker's officially the group dumbass now."

Misc WIP Folder
So I’m going through my WIPs folder’s subfolders.
One is labelled Misc, so that’s the one I’m going through now. Everything will be below the cut because this will probably be a long post, there are sixteen files in this folder.
Most of them are from different fandoms, so I’ll put what fandom it’s in + what title I have for it in my folder in bold before I talk about it. I’ll be going from oldest to newest. Technically not because I can’t sort Google docs like that, but rather “last modified by me” so, longest abandoned to newly abandoned I guess?
Also Spoilers for any of the fandoms, maybe? Probably.
If you have any questions about any of the fandoms, message me or send me an ask. I’m open to talking about any and all of them.
Fandoms Involved (Ordered by appearance):
Murdered: Soul Suspect (Video Game)
Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia (TV Show)
Gravity Falls (TV Show)
Until Dawn (Video Game)
Avatar: The Last Airbender (TV Show)
The Mummy (2017) & (1999) (Movies)
Assassination Classroom (TV Show/Anime)
Red vs. Blue (Online Show- Rooster Teeth)
Camp Camp (Online Show - Rooster Teeth)
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency (TV Show)
Devil May Cry (Video Game + Anime)
Aladdin (2019) (Movie)
Castlevania (TV Show)
Murdered: Soul Suspect - MSS
So there isn’t much in this one, just a bullet pointed outline. Murdered Soul Suspect is a video game, if you don’t know it and are curious you can google it or message me.
Anywho. This is just a little part I thought was funny.
It’s essentially a Ronan survives AU of the game, pretty standard and I thought it would be fun. Honestly this part about Ronan and his cracked spine just reminded me of Obi-wan and how I write him in ignoring his injuries (and how most people write him) so it made me laugh a bit.
There’s really not much here, I didn’t even finish the outline.
Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia - trollhunters au
I am very creative with my titles. Clearly. This is another bullet point outline. but this one is longer and irrc I actually started writing this, and that file would also be in this folder so if I did write it’ll also be featured on this post.
This is an au where Claire is the trollhunter rather than Jim.
The top bit is literally just for context on the next star point. Anywho Writing AAARRRGGGHH/ seeing it spelled out is funny to me. Also I’m pretty sure I rewatched bits with AAARRRGGGHH with subtitles on to see how it was spelt and then replicated that.
The second star point is funny to me because I describe annoyance/anger (rightful, both of them) as pissy. And that’s funny.
There’s more but if I’m write and I wrote it out, then that’ll be featured later.
Gravity Falls - Gravity Falls
... Okay I’m not creative with titles until I have to be. Once more, bullet point outline. So this is an after-canon AU where Bill left a remanent of himself in Dipper and it’s become apparent when they’re in Piedmont.
I just like the rules I had Dipper give Bill. I thought they were neat. Also, I like Mabel convincing Dipper to let Bill live because he’s pathetic. This is a demon who has tormented them for an entire summer, but nows he’s pathetic so lets help him.
Not much of interest in this. I probably didn’t write it because it’d be a long and day-in-the-life type fic. It’d just be Dipper and Bill coexisting and going through life and IDK how well I’d of written that. So I didn’t write it.
Until Dawn- Until DAwn AU
FYI I’m keeping the titles case-sensitive. Another bullet outline. So this is a Josh survives/exorcised AU, also an Everybody Live AU. I’m pretty sure I wrote this when I was heavily invested in Until Dawn and Josh (because I like him.) And I was reading Until Dawn fanfic in which Josh is blamed for what happened on the mountain. And I think I was getting pissy which lead to this:
So in this AU the Until Dawn Group splintered into Sam, Josh & Chris, and Mike, Emily, Jess, Matt & Ashley. So this conversation/fight is between Chris and the second group. So Chris is the 1st,3rd and 5th talking bullet point. I don’t know who’s talking in the 2nd &4th bullet point but it’s one of the second group. Probably Emily, Mike or Jess maybe. Not Ashley.
Im 90% sure that I wrote out this entire outline just for this little interaction.
It just tickles my id. I still kind of like it, but I honestly don’t know what else I’d write for this AU.
Avatar: The Last Airbender - Zuko is the avatar
Title is self-explanatory. Also, I really like bullet outlines. So. Anywho.
Aang is still a 12 year old in this, he used up all his “avatar energy” (that’s literally what I wrote) to keep himself alive so he’s just an airbender now.
I just love Iroh. And this is just funny to me.
If I ever wrote this, it’d be a lot of hijinks of Katara and Aaang (and eventually Toph) covering for Zuko whenever he bends anything other than fire. More cracky than serious.
“The Mummy (2017)” and “The Mummy (1999)” - Mummy x Mummy
I watched the 2017 version of the mummy (got it from the library for 2 bucks) and since there are some throwbacks to the 1999 movie I decided to try to combine them. This also became an AU where Evie and Rick save Imhotep in Mummy 2, and due to Evie being revived meant she was functionally immortal (doesn’t age, but can still be killed). And due to everything, by the Mummy 2017 rolls around it’s just her and Imhotep hanging around, investigating ancient egypt and whatnot.
Honestly this is just part of the outline. None of this is really amusing to me, just, if I ever tried to write it, a lot of work. Although, the fact that I can’t remember the blonde lady friend from the Mummy 2017 is kind of amusing and I literally call her ‘BLF’ throughout this entire outline. I think her name was Lisa. Or Sara.
i’ll google it.
Assassination Classroom - AC AU
At this point, I might as well tell you when it isn’t a bullet outline than saying when it is.
This was really just a Reaper/Koro-sensei raises Nagisa rather than his mom.
People panicking around children is amusing to me. Again, long AU. And this was probably an excuse to write some baby assassin Nagisa and whatnot. Honestly whenever I read this I do remember more details on this, that I have never written down.
Murdered: Soul Suspect - Murdered: Soul Suspect
...
Okay I think this is just a repeat of the one I posted earlier???
I- I don’t know what this was? Like this is newer than the other one?
?????
Uh, brain weirdness?
Let’s move on.
Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia - TRollhunters
Ok! So this is the written out of the bullet point earlier. I did not write out much. But I’ll talk about it a bit more? So this AU is also a Bular survives and Jim finds him and helps AU.
This is literally all I have written. So, right after this, Jim would find an injured Bular and helps him. There isn’t much to add, but I will add what I had written as Barbara’s reaction from the outline:
Large AU, but it would be fun to write. I would most likely end up writing Claire’s journey of Trollhunting along with Jim’s adventures with Bular.
Red vs Blue - Meta, no, that wasn’t, he wasn’t
Okay, that’s not the full title but also the full title is literally the first sentence. Which is a long one so you get part of it. This is actually a written au, it’s about Agent Maine/ The Meta surviving and meeting up with Siris. This is just the first couple paragraphs:
Nothing I read was particularly funny to me, so just the first two paragraphs. Essentially what would’ve happened is Siris would help Maine find Washington (on Chorus) go to Chorus. Find Felix and Locus. Drama Ensues.
I might actually write this. Maybe. There’s potential, if the drive hits me.
I havent watched RvB in a couple of years, but I did like the series. It was interesting.
Camp Camp- Camp Camp
Y’know since this is ‘misc’ I get just having fandom names. Lot easier to identifiy.
So, this file is currently loading still, but I remember this. It wasn’t that long ago. This wasn’t so much a fic as a comic I would of like to have done. I definitely would’ve needed to brush up on my art skills (I am mediocre at best) but it’s just a small little comic I would’ve done on Camp Camp.
First little bit. I actually wrote out most of this rather than just bullet pointing it.
There is a little bit I’d have to polish up, but I could probably post this entire thing. But I kind of want to actually do the comic first. But boy that’s a lot of work.
I love how most of the reason I’m not writing these is that they’re a lot of work.
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency (TV Show) - Project Cheron
This is an AU where Priest is one of the projects of Blackwing. Specifically Cheron and I think my reasoning is that he makes people go where they need to be. IDK. I actually wrote a couple of these. But this one is essentially Priest getting a bunch of projects together to help something. Idk.
This entire thing is weird and would probably be labelled crack if I ever finished it.
Okay. This entire scene is funny to me. Just, this girl rushing out in front of the car waving happily with a decapitated head in her hand. I like it. So, Aine and Herodias are OCs. Both are projects Priest is collecting.
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency (TV Show) - “Dirk
Another Priest is a Blackwing Project AU but that’s not really the focus of this story. This story is about a project (Project Carman- OC) who can trap people in their certain significant memories of her choosing. Carman gets annoyed at Bart, Dirk and the Rowdy 3 so she traps them in memories signifcant to their stay in Blackwing and Priest.
I’ve only written 2 of the six memories, so that’d be fun to complete. These are also just sad. They’re not happy memories. So, random moment that’s somewhat amusing:
Also, title is the first sentence in the fic.
Devil May Cry - “Should I
I- why did I decide to do this from oldest to newest? Part of me is embarrassed, the other part is reminding me I have no reason to be? It’s a video game fic. But also this is a game of my childhood. It’s about Nero looking for his dad and finding Dante instead. Canonically Dante’s twin brother, Vergil, is Nero’s dad.
Just a random moment because I didn’t write that much of it. Also I thought it was kind of cute. Patty shows up in the Devil May Cry anime. Which I watched before I played the games.
Aladdin (2019) - Aladdin AU
A mix of bullet outline and written. I don’t actually have much of this AU, but essentially before Aladdin wishes to become a prince, he notices some mercenaries kidnapping a little girl and decides to rescue her.
This girl is the princess of Shiroba, Aladdin takes her back to Shiroba. The Queen/ Sultana appreciates Aladdin going out of his way to help her so she invites him to stay in the palace.
Eventually word gets to Shiroba that Agrabah is planning to attack so Aladdin and the two twin princes of Shiroba (that I made up, OCs) make a plan to infiltrate and see what they’re planning. They’re not planing espionage, but as Shiroba is a peaceful nation, they want to see if they should start evacuating people and whatnot.
So you get the Prince Ali stuff with the Genie and yada yada.
I have none of that written. I just know that’s what I intended to do with it.
So, first little bit. Long AU that would take a lot of work. Also, I know this isn’t super popular but I liked the 2019 version of Aladdin. I really like the changes they made.
Castlevania (TV Show) - Waking up in Jail wasn’t a new experience
Again, title is first sentence. Not writing that out. Anywho, this is a kind of complete canon AU to Castlevania. Essentially we haven’t reached Lisa getting burnt at the stake yet. So, loving Dracula fam. Trevor and Sypha meet earlier due to circumstance. Alucard gets attacked by something and gets rescued by Trevor and Sypha. They travel together for a while. And then Sypha and Trevor get to meet Alucard’s parents.
That’s where this AU will go if I ever write it. To be fair, last time I wrote in this file was March, so I guess that’s technically possible. Don’t hold out hope.
First couple of paragraphs.
Also, that’s it! Misc WIP folder done!
Oh, if you’ve made it this far, a)thank you and b) if you want to continue/write any of these, go ahead, but tag me or send me a link. I will be very happy to see/read what you create if you like any of this in an inspo way.
Also. This is long, so, IDK if Imma go through the other folders rn. Maybe tomorrow.

Top 5 Things That I Disliked ABout RvB: Singularity
(Top 5 Likes Post Link)
Well, it’s been about four months since RvB17 concluded. The shortest season in the series thus far, RvB17 has had overall very positive reception with good humor, compelling drama, and nice character development. I enjoyed it… but I would be lying if I said I loved it unconditionally. And I’d be lying even more if I said that it was better than the sadly often derided S16. The season has its pros and it has its cons, as every season of the show does. The cons this time probably annoy me more than some due to what I like and dislike, so that’s important to know before going further into this post.
So, it’s time for another Top 5 Likes/Dislikes about the recent RvB season! Now normally I do this shortly before the upcoming season, so why am I doing this now and not when RvB18 starts? Well, I’ve had a lot of these on my mind for a while, and after completing a recent rewatch, I want to go ahead and get it all out. To compensate, when RvB18 does roll around I’ll likely do a post about the past three seasons, and maybe some other stuff like what I’d like to see. And of course, as always, this is just my opinion and I will be as fair as possible, so take everything that I say with a grain of salt.
Anyways, let's get the part that I always hate doing done first: the Top 5 Dislikes.
_______________________________
I hate being negative. I really, really do. Overall, S17 was a very enjoyable season and I liked it in spite of its flaws, as I do with most media that I get into. But I do have issues, more so than I did 15 and 16, and I do want to talk about them. Most of you who’s followed my blog probably already know them, but I’m gonna try to be more detailed about why I disliked it. So we’ll start with something nit-picky, and work our way up. So let's get started with...
#5. Execution of the time travel/The Everwhen
This one is probably the most minor, but the whole thing just… confuses me. So for those unaware, the Everwhen is essentially a giant time portal that allows you to possess your past self at any point in time. This is… not a bad concept at all. It’s a really cool one and they use it to great effect by going to various points in the show’s history. Then using the past variations of Halo also makes us more invested since we recognize those periods. And while I wish we got to see more moments in those periods that we didn’t see, the few that we got in Episode 5 with Wash and Carolina was very well done. I only have two real issues with the Everwhen. First being an excuse for the mass amount of nostalgia banking, but at least it served a purpose… well, the Freelancers did. The Mercs were totally unnecessary. But that can easily just be a me thing and I get that it made a lot of fans happy, so I won’t harp on it. The other reason though is the reason why it made this list.
The execution is confusing as Hell when you really think about it.
First, how does this exist? I guess we’re supposed to believe that Chrovos made it, which I guess that I can buy. But aside from a line in Episode 1 about how the Reds and Blues time period was the backswing that caused the paradox, there isn’t really anything about how this gateway suddenly exists. Which presents another problem, the Reds and Blues inside it. Okay, so the paradox happened and it messed their memories up. That I understand… but why are they having deja vu in the past?! Shouldn’t they have been like Wash was? In some period where they did and didn’t break time? I get that they were in the middle of the paradox while Wash had been in the present, but in that case, how did they get knocked back to the past? At first, I assumed that Chrovos put them there, which would have made sense in order to keep them out of the way. But that’s never said. The implication is that they just got put there randomly, but because of Wash’s state, it really doesn't make any sense for them to be there.
But I think I get why it was like this. On The SHizno Podcast, Jason explained how the original pitch was that the Reds and Blues were going to be in a simulation of Blood Gulch that Chrovos put them in. Think S9 when Epsilon was in the Memory Unit… which it being too similar is one of the reasons why that plan got rejected. It probably explains why they used Halo 2 Anniversary in the S16 finale if the simulation plan was still in effect when Joe wrote it. But that would explain why they were in the past and having memory issues while Wash wasn’t. And it being a simulation is what I thought it was... until Huggins was able to move through it without going through the portal, which made everything even more confusing. As much as I get being too similar to S9, I can’t but feel that it would have been the better move and not given me a headache over how this stupid Everwhen worked. Because it being a simulation and not the actual timeline made a heck of a lot more sense.
Ultimately, this is Number 5 because as I said, it’s nitpicky. Time travel is a mess no matter how it’s utilized, so I’m pretty lenient on it because thinking about it too hard is painful and not worth it. Plus it may just be my own stupidity confusing me. Still, it DID bother me and it made Episodes 7 and 8 especially a pain in the ass to watch through. But since again it’s overall more nitpicky, I’ll leave it at Number 5.

#4: The Simmons Labyrinth
Yeah, we all knew that this was going to be on here. What’s left to be said that I haven’t talked about already? I think we all know why this was hated. First, it isn’t funny. I mean don’t get me wrong, the delivery of the joke was fine, but the joke itself sucked and made no sense for Simmons’ character. Say what you want about Grif’s Labyrinth, whether you saw it as good or terrible, but at least it made sense for his character. Simmons… is afraid of aliens cutting off his private parts. I’m…. fairly sure that RvB has done a joke like that before, and it was likely better there. Plus it didn't fit the tone. All the Labyrinths, even Grif’s, were portrayed as either serious or at least uncomfortable for the victim. I guess they wanted something to lighten the mood, but… it failed. Badly. It just took me out of it until we got back to Carolina’s. Even knowing Jason’s original plan of the alien being Simmons dad, while that would have been more impactful, still would have been treated as the final cut was and still would have taken me out of it.
What could have been done instead? IDK. Could have had Simmons relive one of his many embarrassments in high school. Could have been focused on the test anxiety that made him fail and get shipped off to Red Boot Camp. It could have been one of the many traumas that his dad inflicted on him, like being forced on the women’s volleyball team or something. All of those are still lighter than some of the other Labyrinths and could have had a comedic edge, but it still tells us something about Simmons and would make sense for him. I… am still trying to figure out how what we got fits Simmons at all or tells us anything about him. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
The reason that this is Number 4 is because the scene was ultimately brief and Simmons didn’t exactly have a major role up to that point. It was incredibly stupid and not funny, but IDT it ruined his character or anything. Plus at this point, I and many others have gone on about it and there is really nothing left to say until we see what happens in the future. Jason seems to be aware of the critiques, and I imagine that others behind the show would also be aware by now. Maybe it'll be taken into account in future seasons and they’ll finally give Simmons the attention that he deserves.

#3. Huggins
Ho boy, I’ve been waiting to let this out since the season ended. So for those who were reading my blog when S16 was airing, you know that Huggins was one of my favorite parts of said season. She was likable and fun, her friendship with Grif was adorable and helped his character massively, and she was just a bundle of joy who made me smile every time that we saw her. Her death, while I knew even then it was likely a fakeout, was a huge shock and had me praying that it being a fakeout was correct. Which it was! I was so happy… until we saw how she was actually handled this season.
Personality-wise, Huggins was fine. Her being able to go through time made sense and was even referenced in S16. But… well, she’s used to discovering that Black Holes lead to the beginning of time, goes through time to find the paradoxes that Genkins made, and… that’s it. In other words, Huggins was nothing but a damn plot device. I have a problem with character shafting, but this one was just unfair. Maybe Jason couldn’t think of anything else to do with her? Maybe her VA wasn't available for much? Maybe they didn’t have the budget to animate since Miles did say that they had a slightly smaller budget at RTX? IDK. There’s any number of reasons why, but it was annoying nevertheless. I mean Huggins only appeared in THREE EPISODES, and the first was only at the very end. After Episode 8, she just… disappeared.
There’s a lot of reasons why I hated this. First, just dropping a character like that despite her clearly being important and prominent is an insult to the character. I have issues with how the Reds and Blues were shafted aside from Donut, Wash, and Carolina, but at least they were still around. Huggins leaves to go find paradoxes in Episode 8 and then is gone. Last we hear of her is in the finale from Donut. But the bigger issue is that, if you remember, she was understandably angry at Grif for deciding to go with the plan to save Wash, even though he knew what would happen. It happened and… there’s zero reconciliation. None. Yes, Grif was happy to see her. Yes, he clearly felt remorseful. Yes, he did apologize. But Huggins never really forgave him, saying that she can't be mad at him at the moment because of the larger picture. But it was pretty clear that, while not enraged, she was still unhappy with him… and they don’t allow the two to talk? At all?! After everything in S16, we couldn’t get closure on that?! Really?!
That was what pissed me off. It pissed me off for Grif’s character, but trust me I’ll be going more into that shortly. But for Huggins, it pretty much just says ‘yeah, we are only bringing this character back for exposition and nothing more’. I know many hated S16, but Huggins was easily one of the factors that people enjoyed. I enjoyed it. As I said, her and Grif’s relationship was easily my favorite part of it and I still enjoy rewatching all of their interactions. IDK if she’ll be back in later seasons. I really hope so because, at the very least, she and Grif should reconcile. But even so, she deserved better than what she got. She was a good character, and she deserved better than what she got. I shouldn't be wondering if her remaining dead would have been a better alternative afterwards. I really shouldn’t. So… hopefully future seasons can maybe fix things, but for now, this remains a major problem for me.

#2. Grif Character Shafting
In general, Season 17 had a BAD case of character shafting. Now it’s a huge ensemble cast, so not everyone is going to be able to get attention. I wasn’t that upset that characters like Sarge, Caboose, and Simmons (even if that doesn’t excuse his Labyrinth) not getting much attention because they had already been more lowkey in this story arc. I didn’t mind it with Tucker wither since he got PLENTY of attention with Chorus. Hell, I honestly wish that they kept Wash and Carolina more lowkey because they ALWAYS get the majority of the focus, but for S17’s story it’s understandable why they would so I can forgive it. But you should probably NOT shaft a character who has been one of the central focuses in an ongoing story arc and still had a ton of character development that had to be wrapped up.
You know… like Grif.
Yeah, I won’t lie. While I thought that Grif acted IC and everything… they really dropped the ball with him. I wouldn’t mind that much had S15 and 16 not happened. Those are two seasons that gave Grif a ton of character development. He was essentially the main protagonist in S16, the one most involved in the plot despite how much he tried not to, and began resolving his issues. He went from doing everything in his power to avoid the plot, to openly confronting it and even rejecting the pizza that he had wanted so bad. He was the only one who knew what was about to happen after openly being mocked by Genkins, and despite his best efforts, he failed to stop it…
...and this got aBSOLUTELY NO FOLLOW UP? WHAT THE HELL?! THat’s like if, after Season 11, Tucker acted like none of the events during S11 affected him and didn’t grow as a leader and a soldier. It would come off as super weird since 12 followed the aftermath of S11 and would have been a huge disservice to the character and his development. That’s how it felt here with Grif. At first, it looked like they may show stuff since Grif DID believe Donut at first. But he had to ignore it since Donut isn’t allowed to be listened to. When he got his memory back, everything should have been hitting him then and there. There should have been more anger and probably some guilt about how even when he tried, he still failed and now they have even more bullshit to deal with. But they just… bizarrely ignore it.
I wouldn’t say that Grif regressed, but the fact that there is NO follow-up to his development in a storyline that allowed said development to begin with is a disservice. I get it, they only had 12 episodes and Donut and Wash were the more important. I understand that. And hey, S18 could follow up on it. But there still should have been something. Maybe the reveal about him lying about the enlistment was supposed to be that. Which I did like that… but that was not enough imo. He didn’t reconcile with Huggins. There’s no follow-up about how he failed to stop the paradox. Even for someone as lazy as Grif, we should still be seeing some emotions there. His Labyrinth, while I ultimately don’t hate it and I do see how it can apply to his character, probably should have been something stronger like being stuck back on Iris with the volleyballs mocking him or something.
Character shafting does have to happen in an ensemble cast. But Grif should NOT have been one of them. IDK how they could have incorporated him better while still keeping everything intact, but it’s still frustrating. Again, maybe S18 can provide something. I hope that at least Grif is allowed to reconcile with Huggins and realize that he should actually talk about his issues because I do think that his scene with Kai was an important moment for him. Whether you like to hate the retcon, it makes sense for his character to run away and he’s actually offering to talk about it. Okay, it’s more for Kai’s sake than his own, but he’s still willing to talk about his feelings, which is not something that I could have seen him done without his S15 and 16 development. Hence why I think that is S18 has him be more willing to talk to say Kai or Simmons and about how much S15 and 16 really did affect him instead of trying to brush it aside by calling himself hateglue, he can have a complete character arc. But as far as S17 goes, there’s no excuse for it and was a big problem for me.

Honorable Mentions
Aka, the things that annoyed me, but not by much or I didn’t feel were bad enough to add onto the list.
Tucker not taking responsibility/talking to Wash: It was his idea to go and save Wash despite knowing the consequences, so he’s as guilty as Carolina imo. There should have been more focus on that, and about him reconciling with Wash and accepting what had to happen. The fact that they had zero interaction was bizarre tbh. But it isn’t as big of a deal as other things, so I kept it off. Consider this Number 6.
Character shafting: I hated it, and everyone outside Donut, Wash, and Carolina felt wasted. But it’s already a huge cast, so it was bound to happen and Grif’s was the one that manly pissed me off. So I spared it.
Nostalgia banking: That’s a me thing, so I didn’t feel it was fair to add it, especially since it overall did serve a purpose.
Carolina guilt trips need to die: I forgive it here because it worked for the story and was well executed. But... writers, you’ve done Carolina guilt trips since at least S10. It’s lazy and boring now. Come up with something new for her. Let it die.
Donut being ignored: Mainly, I think they played it up too much. DOnut displayed no noteworthy flaws in this season, and pretty much everything revolved around him. On rewatch, this was annoying and made him seem better and more important than everyone else. That’s unfair. But after all the years where he got shit treatment, he earned it honestly, so I forgave it.
And that’s it! So onto Number One!
_______________________________
I thought long and hard about what Number One could be. Grif Shafting almost made it, but again the finale scene did actually make me happy. As such, I had only one real option left…
#1. The 12 Episode Count
Imo, this is I think the cause of many of the problems with S17 that I have. This should not have been a 12 episode season. 15 maybe, like last time. But not 12. Now there’s any number of reasons that they decided to go with that. Miles did say at RTX that they had a slightly smaller budget, so maybe they just simply couldn’t afford to do more than what they were able to do. Maybe they just thought that 12 episodes wrapped up the story and that there was no need to exceed that number or try to avoid stressing themselves and others out more. Production is hard and not cheap and you’re not going to be able to do everything that you want or even need to be able to do. As such, I’m not angry at them for deciding this since most likely, they had to work with what they had available.
That being said, it is still a problem. A 12 episode season has both its pros and its cons. With the pros, they were able to keep an overall steady pace and focus on what needed to be focused on without having to extend it or cram in filler. But the cons are you have to cram in as much as possible with limited time and put aside the things that aren’t as important. Grif wasn't as important as the other things. Huggins wasn't as important as the other things. They didn’t have time to elaborate on all the time travel, so they did as much as they could and then focus on the story. And Simmons Labyrinth was just a bad idea and would have still sucked even with a longer episode total, so nothing to say there.
My point is, while I do think that 12 episode seasons could work for RvB, they probably shouldn't have done it in the middle of a story arc. Again, they might not have had a choice, but it’s still an annoyance. The first half was fine and the best of the season. But the second half felt much more rushed and overstuffed. Episodes 7 and 8 shoved in exposition and it came across as more confusing than informing. Donut forgave everyone FAR too easily and it didn’t feel like they genuinely felt sorry after being called out. Which made the moment where he did call them out feel slightly less impactful. Only slightly, Then we rush through fixing the paradoxes and The Labyrinth within like four episodes, which when watching all the episodes together really makes it and the ending feel really anti-climactic. It’s like they shoved a ton of character stuff within like ten minutes, but we don’t get to explore it naturally. A problem that I think 15 episodes would have helped solve, but 12… it just… was not enough.
If they do go with 12 episodes again, I think it’ll work better since they’ll have a new story arc that they cal plan properly for. They didn’t have that luxury here. That, on top of Joe having to leave and Jason having to take over writing duties. Which is another annoyance. IDK the circumstances obviously and not to diminish Jason, but Joe should have been allowed to finish his own damn story, the fans' opinion on if he was good or not be damned. But again for all I know he chose to walk out, so I’m not going to go any further than that. Considering what they did have, the fact that they did make a good product is to be admired. But there’s still a lot of problems imo. Ones that I think that the episode count ultimately caused most of. As such, it is the thing that I dislike about RvB17 the most.
______________________________
Again, this is only my opinion. There was a lot that I did like about RvB17, and when I write the Likes post I’ll gladly talk about them. That being said, I do think that this wasn't as good as 16 and IDC how many people think I’m insane for saying that. It had story issues, character issues, and the second half was ultimately just a mess. A fun mess, but still a mess. No, IDK how any of these could have been done better and IDT it’s so bad that it can’t be amended in later seasons. But overall, these issues did damper my enjoyment and things that I hope to see improved in the future.
Okay! Dislikes are done! Thank God! Now I can do the happy stuff! Hopefully, the Likes post will be ready in a few days. But thank you all for reading, and I hope that you enjoyed~

[RvB 17.09] Succession
FIRST Spoilers
BOY HOWDY we've got a lot to unpack here!
This was a very dense episode.
I kinda wish more of an effort had been made to show Tucker having to hide what he's doing to keep the timeline straight, instead of doing very obviously strange and out of character things right out in the open—as though Wash and everyone else are going to see Tucker deliberately sabotaging his own team in a serious battle where they very nearly all die and just be like "Huh, weird" and never bring it up again. I know I'm asking too much of this fix-it plot, but for me it really detracts from what is otherwise a serious plot point where a lot is at stake, both narratively and emotionally for Tucker.
Tucker talking to himself right out loud in front of Felix is written off as a concussion, sure, but it still gave me unbearable secondhand embarrassment.
But here's what I loved: Tucker's moment of self-reflection. It was pretty much perfect. I won't say it erases the mess that was season 16—I don't think that's possible—but it's about as good a reframing of it as we could possibly get, and I think I love it.
So much happens in that moment!
This was one of the worst moments of my life. But it reminded me of something. I became a leader on Chorus. And since we left it, I've been trying to act how I thought a leader should: cool, macho, totally self-confident. But somehow I forgot that I wasn't any of those things while I was actually leading. I was scared all the time, constantly second-guessing myself. But when shit got bad, I was the one to step up and make a decision. That's all it is! And right now, Donut's doing a better job of that than anyone. So yeah, I've got faith. What have you got?
Tucker remembers what made him a leader on Chorus: not boundless self-confidence or self-inflated posturing, but simply the will to act when necessary, even when he was scared and filled with self-doubt. And not only does this bring back our more thoughtful and less impulsive Tucker (thank the gods), it also drives him to a deeper respect for Donut.
It's really good, and a relief on multiple levels.
I also love that Sarge fucked up his timeline fix the first time, and had to go back and fix it. And Donut having to get up close and personal with the Meta in Valhalla was pretty funny too.
Then we come to Wash and Carolina. I have mostly positive feelings about this bit, again with one big complaint, so I'll get that out of the way first.
The "I see you more as a brother" line felt kind of... look, I get why it's in there. It's in there so that the fans who hate Washlina as a romantic ship don't lose their minds when they say they love each other a few lines later. It's so they can show Carolina and Wash as unambiguously close without getting the kind of backlash season 15 got. And while I don't want the ship to be canon (I like it in fanworks; I don't trust the show itself with portrayals of m/f ships that aren't meant to be total dumpster fires), there is... sort of a history of a certain subset of non-shippers in the fandom using "they're SIBLINGS" very aggressively as a bludgeon against shippers, and canon fueling that, especially if it's a response to the season 15 backlash, feels Not Great, and I'll leave it at that. I also have complicated feelings about the fact that a relationship between a male and female character has to be stated to be sibling-like just to pre-empt it being read as romantic? Wash has already used the word "friend" at least twice this season, once in this very episode, and friendships actually aren't necessarily analogous to sibling relationships, so having Carolina interject with "more like a brother" after Wash specifically calls her a friend is kind of a weird note in-universe and out of universe it feels like it's trying to telegraph something else to the audience and I'm not wild about all the subtext going on there.
But to get out from under that subtext, the rest of their conversation is pretty great. I knew this was coming—in the euphoria of good character writing over the last few episodes, it was easy to forget that to fix the timeline completely, Wash had to go and get re-shot. But Wash has known that all along. And he took a moment specifically to talk to Carolina about it, to make sure she was prepared for what had to happen.
This is the most emotional we've ever seen Carolina get in canon. Carolina has never cried, not once, and for some of us, I think it's actually pretty hard to hear. I think I understand now why Jen Brown said she had to dig deep for this season. Historically, this is not how Carolina's tended to express strong emotions. I've written before about how Carolina has tended to express negative emotions as anger, because it's a way to mask her vulnerability. That she is able to be so vulnerable with Wash here speaks to her individual character growth as well as the growth of their relationship.
In short: Carolina crying here is good actually.
I think she's pretty clearly still struggling to come to terms with the idea that Wash's brain damage doesn't mean he's gone. Wash is more at peace with it; he knows he'll still be himself, that the condition will change things but can be managed. For Carolina... I think she's still remembering how alone and scared she felt during the months she spent with Wash on Chorus, watching him struggle with his recovery, seeing his memory lapses and hoping they would eventually get better. She hasn't yet realized, maybe, that's it's because she never talked to Wash about it that she felt so disconnected from him. When they both know what's going on and can be open about it, I think she's going to feel a lot less alone and scared, and will realize that the Wash she always knew is still there.
That's if Wash does get re-shot.
I have a theory I think it is about 50% likely to happen that he's not going to.
First, I get the feeling somebody doesn't want to deal with having to write Wash that way in the future, whether it's Jason or Miles or both of them thinking about whoever comes after. They did have him revert very early in the season, and with so much happening and so many characters to juggle, it's kind of understandable. I will not be at all surprised if they decide to keep him un-injured going forward for that reason.
And from an in-universe perspective, I can see exactly how it could happen. We've already established that the danger of paradoxes is specifically freeing Chrovos from the cage, not, you know, collapsing spacetime as we might have thought. And we've just learned through this episode's mandatory exposition dump scene that Genkins, unsurprisingly, really just wants power for himself and is perfectly willing to double-cross Chrovos to get it.
So the answer's simple: Genkins kills Chrovos. With her dead, the cracks in the timeline no longer matter, and the Reds and Blues' objective becomes killing Genkins. They then have the option of resetting the timeline where they choose.
I mean, sure, there are holes in it, but this season's plot is already swiss cheese, so... I just think they might do it. But we'll see what happens next time.

The morning sun reflected perfectly off Carolina’s red hair, highlighting each strand. Her face was buried into the plush pillows, with a blanket draped across her back, a light peaceful smile etched across her lips. A calloused hand reached forward, brushing the stray strands of hair from her cheeks. Carolina buried her face into the pillow for a moment, before opening
This was the sight Washington had woken up to every morning since they retired back to Iris after fixing the paradoxes, fixing his accident, things were finally going back to the way they used to be. Though his memory was foggy from those events, this was a sight he had grown quite fond of. A sight of a peaceful Carolina.
Carefully he leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss against her temple, before slipping from the bed to get dressed. His gaze shifted to her once more as she shifted to roll onto her side, thankful that he didn’t wake her. He reached forward to the desk at the side of their bed, pulling open a drawer to reveal a small box, carefully he placed it in his back pocket and exited the room.
The thought had crossed his mind time and time again as he headed for the base’s mess hall. Perhaps he could ask her the one question he had been wanting to ask for quite some time.
‘Will you marry me?’
The question, however, sent shivers down his spine. It was what Washington needed, it was what he wanted. He only hoped that she too wanted this. That she wanted a life with him.
He seemed to be dragged from his thoughts next once he entered the mess hall. Tucker was seated at a table with Caboose and Donut, finishing off their breakfast.
“Morning, Wash!” Donut called towards him. Caboose nibbled at a piece of bacon, waving his arm in greeting.
“Whatcha up to this morning, Wash?” Tucker then chimed in, raising a brow towards the pseudo-leader of the Blue team.
“In search of breakfast. You and the Red’s didn’t eat everything did ya?” He said with a soft chuckle.
“Not yet!” Caboose exclaimed as he finished off his piece of Bacon.
Washington grabbed a plate of food, before sitting down beside Tucker, as he did Sarge moved into the room with Simmons and Grif in tow. He sat in silence for a moment listening to the familiar bickering and banter of the men he had grown to view as some of his closest friends. He imagined for a brief moment raising a family with Carolina here. Raising a family that was extended from that of the teams they had grown so fond of.
Tucker nudged Washington for a moment, dragging him from his thoughts. Washington shook his head for a moment, lifting his gaze up towards Tucker.
“Alright Wash, what's on your mind?” Tucker asked, raising a brow towards him as the Red’s took a seat at the table next to them. Washington’s face seemed to flush red for a brief moment as Tucker nudged him once more.
“It’s nothing…” Washington muttered under his breath, running his hand along the back of his neck.
“Oh, it’s something!” Sarge chimed as he scarfed down his pancake.
“He has that look in his eye! The look when he’s thinking about Carolina.”
“Hey! I do not…!” His voice trailed off for a moment before he looked down. A sigh escaping him before he nodded, feeling their eyes on him. “Yeah, it’s about Carolina.”
“You two fighting? She can be scary!” Caboose said with a squeak.
“No no! It’s not that! We’re fine.” Washington added, he reached into his back pocket, placing the box on the table. “I’m uh… I want to propose to her.” He removed the top of the box and revealed that of a beautiful silver knot, the emerald diamond almost mirroring the color of her eyes.
“I picked it out a few months ago, just having issues finding the right time to do it,” Washington muttered.
“What the hell are you waiting for dude!?” Grif exclaimed standing to his feet. “Do it now!”
“Yeah I’m with Grif, it’s now or never!” Simmons said tugging on Washington.
“Yeah, I agree with the red’s, You should do it.” Tucker grinned, patting Washington on the shoulder.
Washington looked on anxiously towards the rest of the gang. Each of them having a reassuring expression across their face. Their reassurance seemed to be enough for
It really was now or never.
---
Carolina rolled onto her back, hand reaching out to the space where Washington had slept, half expecting Washington to be there, so she could pull herself close to his lean frame, and sleep for another hour. But all she felt was empty space.
“Wash…?” She whispered softly, as she sat up, realizing soon that he had already gone off to get breakfast. Carolina didn’t pay much mind to it as she stood up from her spot, stretching slightly before heading off to the showers and getting ready.
She returned to the room her and Washington shared a short while later, feeling refreshed. It was rare for her to sleep in, and on rare days that she did she was usually one of the last ones up.
Her gaze shifted towards her desk as she glanced over the arrange of pictures she had, including the one she had taken from Agent Illinois base. The lasting remaining picture she had of herself and York. Beside it, however, was that of a picture of her new found family. Washington standing beside her, the two of them looking like commanding officers of a bunch of rookies. Those rookies being the Reds and Blues. She picked up the picture tracing her hand over the image with a faint smile.
Her head turned at the sound of a knock on the door.
“Hey, Carolina!” Called the voice of Tucker. Setting down the picture she turned towards the door, opening it up with a sigh.
“What is it, Tucker?” She asked softly, tilting her head towards him. Tucker then reached forward dragging her forward from her door without another word, and pushing her forward.
“Tucker I swear to god! What are you doing!?” She exclaimed before regaining her footing, her head lifting up to see Washington. His expression seemed that of embarrassment. He seemed to fumble with something in his pocket, gaze shifting from Carolina then back to the guys.
Caboose and Tucker were behind him, motioning for him to proceed with whatever plan he had in mind.
“Wash…? What’s going on?” Carolina asked.
“C-Carolina! I… you look beautiful today! I mean, you look beautiful every day!” Washington exclaimed, eyes darting once more towards the others, only for him to receive a facepalm from Grif and typical laugh from Sarge.
“Just say it already!” Simmons shouted. Carolina raised her brow, as Washington took a deep breath and nodded.
“Now or never.” He muttered softly. “Carolina, will you marry me?” He exclaimed softly, crouching down on one knee, though he seemed to nearly trip as he kneeled down in front of her. He opened up the box, revealing the beautiful silver ring with a shiny emerald. Her emerald green eyes widened and she stood jaw agape. This moment had been something they spoke very briefly of moons ago when they shared a quiet moment together. Part of her for a moment thought he had forgotten it. But it was clear he had not.
“David… I...” Her voice trailed off for a moment, looking from the ring and then back to him. He stood up as she spoke his name, his face still flushed red. A smile tugged at her lips before she threw her arms around his neck, and pulled herself close to him. Words catching in her throat preventing her from speaking, as her lips brushed against his own. She felt his arms move around her waist as he looked into her green gaze.
“I-is that a yes?” Washington asked, glancing once more towards their teams.
“Of course that’s a yes!!” Donut then shouted towards. Carolina let out a soft laugh, nodding in agreement.
“Yes.” She whispered softly towards him. The expression across Washington’s face as she spoke that 3 letter word, and the cheer from the Reds and Blues, was enough to cause her heart to race. Grif was leaning against Simmons, holding back tears. Sarge seemed to salute for a moment, muttering something about a happy ending. And Tucker was trying desperately hard to keep Caboose from bouncing off the walls with excitement.
“I love you, Carolina.” He whispered softly to her, as he slipped the ring onto her finger. A perfect fit.
“I love you too,” Carolina replied as she pulled him in for another kiss.

Unfinished RvB Drafts
So I have a buttload of unfinished fanfics that I may or may not ever get around to writing. So I thought I would just compile them all here for fun!
The Doppleganger
(Based off a post I saw about how Chase & Nemisis from Gen:Lock we’re kinda like what would have happened if the Alpha had lived) This was probably gonna be a very long fanfic, but I got bored super fast and never finished it.
Chorus was a very large planet with plenty of hidden technology; some of which wasn't even from the aliens who had lived there hundreds of years prior to the present date. The Reds and Blues had to learn this the hard way.
Dexter Grif let out a loud groan to display his disapproval of walking through several miles of dense forest, " How much farther is this stupid base anyway?"
"Quit yer whinin', Grif," Sarge commanded, "or you'll be dealing with the business end of my shotgun! Besides, can't be much farther out now, right agent?" Agent Carolina nodded before responding with , "Shouldn't be more than maybe half a mile out from here. At least that's what Epsilon's been saying for the last hour.." She added, slightly annoyed at her A.I. companion for his continued insistence that the UNSC base was 'only a bit farther ahead'.
"Hey, don't blame me! It's hard to get a good signal out here with all this jungle messing up my scanners." Epsilon, more commonly known as Church, retorted. " And besides, I'm positive its true this time. "
At this point in the journey, it seemed that Grif wasn't the only one getting tired. Donut fanned himself dramatically with his hand, "I haven't been this sore in ages" Everyone groaned loudly, and silently agreed to ignore Donut for the rest journey. All except Simmons, who felt it was worth commenting, "Donut, do you ever think before you say something?"
Donut merely responded with an overly cheery, "Nope!" before silence fell over the reds and blues once again. It took no less than 10 seconds for said silence to be broken.
"Tucker," Caboose bellowed loudly for his aqua teammate near the front of the pack to hear. "I need to go to the bathroom again.."
"Didn't you go like, fifteen minutes ago? Just hold it, we'll be there soon anyways." Tucker didn't much feel like dealing with Caboose at the moment. The group had already had to stop approximately 6 times in the past 2 hours for his bathroom breaks.
"But I really gotta go..."
"Just.. go in a bush or something, Caboose. You can catch up to us when you're done." Agent Washington responded calmly. At this point, he was use to playing 'team dad' for the blues, though even now his nerves was beginning to run thin. "Okay. I'll just go over there, and catch up with you guys in a minute!" Caboose repeated back reluctantly as he stared off into the vast wilderness.
_____________
It was official, they were absolutely lost.
"Church, I thought you said you knew where we were going!" Tucker yelled; they were in a huge jungle, it's not like anyone was going to hear him anyways.
"I did." Church retorted, "But then we went through that really thick patch of forest and I guess I got turned around." He was starting to get sick of being blamed every time something went wrong on this journey.
"Team, now's not the time to argue. Let's just get going back in the right direction." Even Carolina had to admit things were getting a bit frustrating on this mission. "Epsilon, any chance you can reset your scanners and get us moving towards the base again?"
Church took a moment to respond, as he presumably was following Carolina's instructions, then said, "Yep, alright we've got things back in order (at least I hope), this should be the right way now. Turn left up at this big tree here."
_____________
Caboose had found himself wandering aimlessly around the endless jungle. It wasn't as bad as it seemed, after all there were plenty of cool critters to look at. And it's not like his friends would just abandon him out here anyways, they were probably just over the next fallen tree or giant rock.
Pretty soon Caboose began to notice weird cameras tucked between the branches on the trees; this had to be the right way to his friends. He followed the path of camera until he found himself face to face with a big metal building thing reminded him of the blue base back in Blood Gulch. It also appeared to be empty, at least from the outside where no one made their presence immediately known. Caboose figured that it was a fine place to sit and wait for his friends while they were surely searching for him.
Of course, however, it didn't take more than a few minutes for Caboose to get bored of waiting. He began to look around inside the base and, surely enough, it too was comepletely void of any life. Occasionally, Caboose would call out just to see if anyone would respond, but after several minutes of searching and yelling, he concluded that he was alone.
That is, until he found him.
_____________
"Hello? Hello? Is my radio working?" A static-filled, but familiar voice called in over the reds and blues radio network. Tucker and Washington immediately recognized it as the voice of Caboose and responded. It was also at this moment that they realized Caboose had never come back from his bathroom trip.
"Caboose? 'That you buddy? Are you alright?" Washington inquired, growing slightly concerned for his comrade in blue. It wasn't exactly uncommon for them to lose Caboose like this, but there was always the chance he had gotten himself into a dangerous situation.
"Yes, I am perfectly fine. And I made a new friend! Well, he's not really a new friend—" Cabooses radio cut out at what seemed to be incredibly inconvenient timing. There was a long stream of static.
Tucker made another attempt at contact, "Caboose? We lost you there for a second. Can you tell us where you are by any chance?" He knew he was being incredibly hopeful by asking, but it was worth a shot.
"Oh, I just followed the cameras hidden in the trees. Yeah, they took me to this place that kinda reminds me of our base. I'll introduce you to my friend when you get here. Maybe we can all be best friends!" Tucker looked at the trees and suddenly noticed that, yeah there were definitely cameras hidden in them.
Mourning the Artificial Man
This one’s actually finished, but I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not so it’s just kinda sat in with my drafts for a while, collecting dust. Basically: My thoughts on how the characters reacted to Epsilon’s death. (And, of course, Spoilers)
As the last shots of the Chorus Civil War were fired, the reds and blues breathed a collective sigh of relief. It was over. It was really, truly over.
"We did it." Simmons quietly repeated to himself in disbelief, getting a little louder with each reiteration. He pulled his orange companion, Grif, into a tight embrace, before promptly letting go in a state of embarrassment, the two proceeding to laugh it off. Tucker, still wearing the Meta's armor, smiled brightly, the effects of victory still very present within him.
"You hear that Church? We won!" He waited for a moment, expecting to hear his overly-cynical friend reply with a, "Good job team!" Or even a, "Finally, I was starting to get bored." But alas, no response came.
Tucker began to check all the stats displayed in his helmet. Most of it appeared to be pure gibberish to him. But displayed quite plainly in the top right hand corner was a power bar, which was getting dangerously low. Perhaps Church just needed to rest for a while. He couldn't blame him for that; the battle that had ensued only minutes prior was one the most intense they'd ever fought, second only to their fight against the Meta.
The others began to chatter happily, recounting the fight almost as if it were a fond memory from the distant past. All except Tucker, who had only just noticed a small notification that had popped up in the middle of his helmet. It seemed to be an audio recording made a split second before the battle had begun.
"Hey guys," the reds and blues immediately dropped their conversations to look at Tucker. "I think Church left us a message.."
"Why's he leaving messages? Why not just tell us in person?" Inquired Grif. "Dunno.. he's not responding at all either." There was a moment of tense silence. "Maybe he's just sleeping?" Caboose suggested in his hopeful, naivety. No one wanted to try and explain the truth to him. Tucker began the message.
Hey guys. If you're hearing this, that means you did it. You kicked the s*** out of Hargrove's forces. I knew you could.
A long silence filled the room as the reds and blues listened intently to Churches message. Looking to one another for comfort, for some sign that this was all just a big joke. But the punchline never came. There was no "Sike! I fooled you!" moment. Just a sad silence.
But this is my last stop..
Caboose wrapped his arms around Tucker as they silently mourned for their fallen friend. It was the only time they'd ever hugged, and would probably be the last as the two had never been very close, but it helped nurse the new wounds and feelings of emptyness that had been left behind.
See, when I came into this world, I was really just a collection of somebody else's memories. But with your help, these memories, they began to take form. They became my voice, my personality. And after a while, I began to make brand new memories of my own.
Tucker played the audio recording for Carolina and Washington. Carolina slowly found herself in Washington's warm embrace as they were faced with the harsh reality that Church wasn't coming back. It was a reality both had wished they would never have to face, but sometimes reality doesn't care how much you wish for something. Instead it will push through and leave you behind to crumble.
They were now the last remnants of Project Freelancer. One less living relic to a time now forgotten by the rest of the universe. One less friend to cope through their pasts with. The world seemed just a little bit lonelier now.
All of these things are what make me who I am. But they're also holding me back....
The message echoed loudly over the speakers for all the soldiers to hear; both from the Federal Army, and the New Republic. The soldiers all removed their helmets in a moment of quiet respect for their fallen ally. The one who sacrificed his life for the sake of not only his friends, but the entirety of Chorus as well.
I can't run this suit as Epsilon.. but if I erase my memories, if I deconstruct myself, the fragments I leave behind will have the strength to get you through this. I believe that.
The reds and blues didn't try to meet the eyes of their lieutenants who were clutching to one another in an act of comfort from the front of the crowd. They simply listened to the message and felt their hearts shatter to pieces once again.
'If we would have been there for them, maybe Church could have still been alive' Palomo told himself. He had only ever seen him a few times before in passing, but he know how much Church meant to the reds and blues. He'd heard so many tales of the cobalt AI, how many times he had cheated death, but now it seemed Church had truly passed on. There was no escaping death this time. (Ran out of space, will continue this in a reblog)

Holiday Flash Fics!
I decided to go all out again and do holiday flash fics much like I did last year. Once again I will only do each prompt one time and I will only write for each person once (though FAHC Michael and Michael can both be requested as with the rest of the crew and any of the other fake crews). I will also not be doing any of RWBY, RVB, Camp Camp or any other animated characters with the exception of David from Camp Camp (sorry I have a soft spot for him).
Once a prompt is taken I’ll put a name of who next to it. And if you need a list of who I write check here!
Now, I’m still doing my number prompts I reblogged from the other day so please if you make a request please put in the request either the full prompt or that it's for the holiday flash fics! Thank you!
