Wow, that's a whole other repost to the one I thought it was going to be, lol. It's been reposted to TikTok once before, and I'm also not surprised this person got it from Reddit, where I doubt I was credited either.

At the end of the day I appreciate the heads up but there's nothing I can really do about it. The most helpful thing anyone can do is to leave comments on the reposts to provide credit,* because if artists ever try and comment then we pretty invariably get attacked. Don't be mean or aggressive, that just builds their animosity towards the artists, but I do think people respond positively to outside pressure to do the right thing 🤷

*Remember to make sure there's enough context - eg. something like "art by @ landegart on Twitter" is more searchable/useful than "artist is Landeg" to someone on TikTok who has no idea who I am haha

leaked emails from last year's hugo awards organizers show they actively tried to single out authors and their submissions from being considered for the awards because of Chinese censorship laws. As in, it wasn't the censors who did it, they just were so scared of running into the law that they essentially did the censor's work for them in anticipation and talked among themselves which candidates shouldn't be nominated. One notable email singled out author Neseem Jamnia for being "queer, nonbinary, trans" and frequently writing about gender and being nonbinary as being potentially problematic for censorship.

I was thinking it might make sense to actually describe this blog's purpose for once. I do a few things for fun on here that like minded people may find interesting resonate with. what to expect:

sourced mcr content and sometimes transcriptions/translations for mcr scans (all done by google and scans mainly from old websites). sometimes I find cool ones. I have all the ones from mcrhollywood on my website (earlycuntsets.org) and that's hundreds of scans. or go to mcrhollywood. I will always have it linked.

I like to find old websites/aol icons/graphics that about/related to mcr from the old web. I make gifs of old mcr sites because I have an unhealthy fascination with them. this is just a place for me to share the things I think are cool, if others find it cool that is even kooler.

like any mcr account, I try to find a mcr pics/content that are not as common. I do think maybe 40% of my posts are of lesser known mcr moments but "rare" is so subjective in the mcr online community. what's rare to someone isn't rare to another etc. and I don't think it's not a matter of "knowing mcr" or not. there truly is sooo much out there.

I try to make gifs of moments I think are worth watching over and over. some are from ancient crunche yt videos and some are from my mcr dvds and I try to find hq videos to gif.

I am always open to asks about any mcr mysteries or challenges are really fun to me. I've received some seriously cool ones in the past and it's always an honor to be considered someone worth asking. I have found mostlyy everything requested so far.

I am super interested in seeing what my friends/mutual acquaintances on here think is worth talking about. asks like that are more than welcomed!

Well, she's read this one! She hasn't ever read any other fanfiction before either but I've explained the concept to her. It's also the only piece of fiction writing she's read by me since I was probably in 7th grade or so. She knew I could write based on the essays and articles I've written. Like, I've had her help me edit my college papers before and she went with me in high school when I competed at state for timed essay writing. But she had ZERO exposure to whether I could write fiction or not!

I left her some notes at the beginning of the story to explain a few things, like how yes the names are weird but she'll get used to them. (I pointed out that she loved Cold Storage by David Koepp, which has a character who is called "Teacake" the entire time.) She is also reading it slower than she probably would've read other books, because I recommended she open up the document on her laptop. At 218 pages, the google doc lags HARD on your phone.

She told me that once I used the word "rack" to describe Grian hanging up the phone in its place, and that wasn't what it was called, but she blanked on the correct word to describe it. (Cradle? Just 'holder'?)

She already knows the end of the story, but she still thinks it's very irrational for Grian to assume Mumbo is alive. She too has a lot of experience going hiking and doing outdoor activites, as well as a big true crime obsession, so she's well versed with the odds of missing people being alive after such a long time. So she think it's Painfully obvious that Grian is wrong, but she also understands the way I've set up his grief and is very sympathetic to it.

She's delighted with the part where Scar desribes Jellie to calm Grian down. She also highlighted several descriptions I've done and said that she loved the way I described the mountains and nature. She said it was very beautiful. She has learned a lot about fire lookouts and finds all my details interesting. She likes Scar best because she knows a lot more about him from me talking about him over the years—I guess I tend to talk about Scar more than Grian because I watch his streams more and showed her pictures of Jellie.

She's also calling it "my book" :D

She hid her face in a pillow saying "oh my goddddd" and screaming right after. Face all flushed and everything, it's cute as hell.

Paintbrush - A good solid... I'd say 65, 70. Good for getting between her lil toes, under them and just trailing them up and down her feet, it's real fun watching her scrunch em up and try and kick the paintbrush away.

Makeup brush - Good for a startup, or for some lighter tickles to help her calm down from being wrecked. Maybe, 45? 50 if you trail it along the bridge of her foot.

Toothbrush - A fan of once again, getting right under her toes. Not quite as good as a hairbrush, have to be a 60?

Hairbrush - She loses her damn mind with this one, her absolute favourite, if it's not a 100 I don't know what is

Spiky rubber roller (idk it's name) - Once again good for warm up, has her giggling her head off and practically relaxing in my arms. Ain't anything quite like a little lee who's just putty in your hands. I'd say maybe a 40?

Feather - Top tier for soft tickles. 55-60, plus dragging the tip from her heel to her toes, then dragging the feathery side through her toes? Absolutely amazing.

Nails - Personal favourite of mine, namely cause I like having my nails done ironically enough. Even just wiggling them at her has her giggling already, so easy 75 minimum!! Can get into all the little crevices and wrinkles and folds of her skin, light and ghosting them over her feet, or raking them from top to bottom, it makes her scream.

Pen - Lil secret, my angel loves it when I draw on her feet, can't sit still long enough though which really sucks. I just wanna do some lil doodles yknow? Draw some cute things like suns and rabbits and maybe even write words down on them before making her try and guess what I wrote. Another nice 50

Loofah - Only really effective with oil or water, without it I'd say maybe 20 or 30? She's a walking tickle spot so everything is ticklish to her. With oil or a lotion, it bumps all the others up a solid 10, and a loofah comes up to a sweet 60
