Well dang, I took a whole evening break from Artfight and this happened XD

So thanks to @idwsonicshowdown I was reminded of this wonderful character from the Fleetway Sonic comics, and now I have a WHOLE new appreciation for her. It’s criminal that this classic, charming canary doesn’t have more art and love.

I didn’t change too much about her design other than nailing down the beak shape (a Duck beak? Really Fleetway? XD) and giving her a few more accessories like a spiked belt and some appropriately punky skirt pins. There is no way someone wearing a Minnie the Minx jersey isn’t punk.

Tekno is best girl. Amy certainly thinks so 😉 🏳️‍🌈

WELCOME TO SONIC SHIP BATTLES

One thing most people have strong opinions about in the Sonic fandom, whether they love or hate it, is shipping. Over here at Sonic Ship Battles, we love ships! And we love respectfully mashing our ships together to see which is the most popular. But we have one little problem…

…There are too damn many ships in this port!

So, instead of having one tournament, we're going to have a bunch of tournaments where we decide the best ship for each character. These are the initial tournaments we are going to run (based on the order the character first appeared):

Dr. Eggman

Tails

Amy Rose

Knuckles

Once these initial 5 tournaments have been completed, if there is enough interest, we will carry on and make more. We definitely hope to also do tournaments for the Chaotix (including Mighty and Ray), robots in general (Metal Sonic, etc.), Shadow, Rouge, the IDW Comics and hopefully other characters and spin-off series. But we'll figure that out closer to the time

Welcome to the Sonic Poor Little Meow Meow Showdown!

You know that Sonic character? The one that's done terrible things but you can't help but want to put them in your pocket and carry them around like a purse dog? Well then, welcome to the Sonic Poor Little Meow Meow Showdown!

Inspired by the likes of @bestsonicshowdown @bestactualsonicshowdown @bestsonichuman @sonicgirlsmackdown @idwsonicshowdown @sonicmalematchup @sonic-palooza @themurderofsonic-knockout @amyroseshowdown @tailsshowdown @knucklesshowdown and many, many more, we here are going to take those poor little meow meows that you know and love and send them to the gladiator pit to see which comes out of this victorious!

What makes a Poor Little Meow Meow, you may be asking?

Qualifications:

Must have mostly villainous qualities, not necessarily a complete bad guy, but can't be doing the "right thing" most of the time.

At least a bit pathetic

THE SONIC STAIRS SMACKDOWN OF 2023!!!!

Hello and welcome, one and all!! We all love stairs, don’t we? Invented by Abraham Lincoln himself, we’ve used them to elevate ourselves for centuries. 

And now, it is time we decide which of these magnificent constructions pulled it off best in Sonic the hedgehog.

Now, before we start, i want to make a few things clear:

So, uh, fully honest, i kind of have no idea how this stuff works. So please be patient with me when i inevitably fuck something up 💀

Also, while i will try my best to hold a schedule, i absolutely cannot promise anything. This is just something i wanna do for fun, and i dont want it to be something i stress out over. Last thing: Please, PLEASE don’t take this too seriously. There’s been some intense discourse in other tournaments, and i specifically made this one as dumb as possible to avoid that. Friendly competition and stuff is encouraged, but if you genuinely start getting mad because your favourite sonic stairs lost the tournament, you’re a real loser.

Oh, and i almost forgot! This is inspired by all of the wonderful other sonic-related polls on this site, such as @best-sonic-soundtracks , @idwsonicshowdown , @sonic-transmasc-swag-tourney , and many more.

Happy Halloween! I've started a Sonic Sideblog!

...These two statements are unrelated, but I've been setting up this sideblog for a while and just happened to finish it today. My name is SamCyberCat and you might know me from... uhhh the patron list at the end of Bumblekast for a long time. Alternatively, I've been running some Sonic poll blogs since about march, most notably @idwsonicshowdown @sonicshipbattles and @sonicuniversesmackdown I've been kinda using these blogs as Sonic sideblogs for a while, but it wasn't really the right place to do that, so I finally put some time into moving all of my reblogs and art over to a dedicated sideblog: Sam Observes Sonic The reason for the name is because I hope to start rereading and rewatching old Sonic comics and cartoons that I love and blogging about them on this blog. In all likelihood, I'll be starting with Fleetway's Sonic the Comic, as this was my introduction to Sonic I also might do some drawing requests on some days, because I like doodling Sonic characters If you've been following @idwsonicshowdown then I also intend to move the following over to @samobservessonic: IDW Sonic Stuff, Other Sonic Stuff and Sonic Tournament Boosts. So if you want to keep seeing those posts, follow this new blog instead. Hello! We've had a very strong start to this blog, which I'm pleased with. As of yesterday, the amount of submitted blorbos surpassed 400, so I think that we've got a good amount now for me to close the form for a while to work through some of the backlog The other reason is that I'll be starting a small bracket over at @idwsonicshowdown next week, so while I'll most-likely still keep updating this blog during that time, I can't promise to give this blog my full focus So, today is the last day if you want to get your blorbos submitted before the form closes for at least a few weeks. It'll close around this time tomorrow, to give everyone a chance to see this and submit any last-minute blorbos

from the referee of @sonic-nonbinary-knockout comes a brand new tournament set to decide once and for all the absolute best macguffin from the sonic the hedgehog franchise.

now, our definition of a macguffin differs slightly from the traditional definition. to qualify for the tournament, the item...

must be something people want

must be unique or scarce

must play a role in the story

must have some kind of power

bonus points if it's something rouge would steal

so for example, the chaos emeralds would qualify, but the colored shoe gems from '06 would not.

as this isn't based off headcanon, we will not be taking submissions at this time. instead, we will be posting a list of what we can find off the wiki, and you can suggest what to remove or add from it.

we do, however, have google form if you want to give feedback on how to run the poll, found here. the form includes a question you can use for peer review of the lineup.

What Comes Next?

This blog is going on a hiatus, but the reason for that is so that I can run another Sonic tournament: @sonicuniversesmackdown We now have the 64 contestants needed to start that tournament, so I'll be turning my attention to that next. After that tourname is over, I'll be running a small bracket over at @idwsonicshowdown and then, once both of them have concluded, I'll come back here The next tournaments will be the Tails and Knuckles tournaments that I promised in the original intro post. I'm not sure yet which order they'll happen in, but they will both happen. After that, if I have enough steam, I might run tournaments for other characters, but I can't promise that yet, since it'll be a while before we get to that stage Take care and see you all soon!
