So now that we’re super close to the end of Third Beat (and in particular have passed balcony which I was always going to have Thoughts about the adaptation of), I’m putting to text some thoughts I’ve had (positive and some a little negative) about Third Beat’s adaptation choices with both 28-29 and overall with Momo and a little bit with Yuki over the course of the season. There’s some stuff that had to be missed/skipped out on due to time constraints, which I do understand, but I do think some of it is really good to know so you could also consider this a bit of a shorthand crash course on stuff that’s a bit different for anime-onlies who are curious how things went down in the game. That said, I always rec reading the game story if you have time because a lot of Re:vale’s shenanigans have to get cut for time in the anime; Part 2 to Part 3 Chapter 10 and the rest of Part 3 were both done by translators on Tumblr. Dodge Part 3 Chapter 20 until next week if you don’t want spoilers and you’re all good. With that said, on to the ~meta~
Episode 28-29 -The anime has Yuki realise who Momo went to talk to exclusively because he overheard it on the phone. In the game, Yuki overhears the conversation and discusses with Momo that it might be a trap. This is actually where Yuki’s “Some people are irredeemable” speech initially happens - the anime intercut it with the slap scene, which I actually really enjoyed as a time-preserving choice, since it is relevant to that conversation as well, but also comes at the cost of some of the lines that were originally in the slap scene. Overall, the changes made sense but the cut elements do make it more obvious that Momo knows meeting Touma is risky even if Touma himself means him no harm. -This second point is probably the single biggest change from the game - there’s an entire cut interaction between Momo and Ryou before Ryou leaves Momo’s apartment, where Ryou has watched Momo have the first few drinks forced on him but decided it’s time to leave before he gets caught at the scene of the crime. Probably best known among the fandom for Momo basically telling Ryou to get fucked in a drunk candid moment before backtracking and fake sucking up to him instead, it makes one thing very clear that the anime doesn’t: that Momo ultimately stops Ryou from outing the twins by tricking him into thinking he and Yuki have a retaliation in place already. The anime does not touch on this at all, and while Ryuu’s intervention spares Momo and Yuki, there’s minimal explanation of why Ryou wouldn’t go after the twins regardless after that encounter, especially since he’s so pissed off with Ryuu. This is the explanation for it - that Momo manages to seamlessly lie to him that they’ve got insurance for if it happens despite him literally only finding out about it a few minutes before Ryou showed up to crash his and Touma’s meeting. Given time constraints I can see why they cut this scene, but it is a real shame considering it’s one last moment of Momo getting one over on Ryou even under threat of imminent death. -Another fairly major change but one I think was handled pretty well was that in the hostage scene after Yuki’s arrival, Yuki was the hostage, not Momo. The initial part proceeds similarly - Momo hits one of the suits and tells Yuki to run, but then is hit back - however, in the game what happens while Momo is incapacitated for those few seconds is that one of them grabs Yuki and then smashes the bottle to hold him hostage with. I can kind of understand why they changed this for visual reasons: there’s a certain level of comedy to Momo’s reactions to Yuki’s bluff, and I think the animators realised that if Momo was reacting That Obviously confused about Yuki’s claims of being strong enough to hospitalise 30 people within line of sight of the suits, it’d be rather easy to tell Yuki was bullshitting. Having him facing Yuki allows those reactions in a position where the suits can’t see his face and makes the comedy/tension interplay more effective. My one reservation here is that it’s made abundantly clear in just about every I7 media that Momo is extremely strong - the game implies that there’s a third suit involved in Momo’s capture and they’re still struggling with him when he’s at such a severe disadvantage, which Yuki even points out in the game as part of his bluff (implying that Yuki’s mention at the door that Momo wouldn’t dare hit him means he’s stronger than the already very strong Momo). Given the anime switched the alcohol used for this scene from cheap sake or at least cheap generic alcohol to spirits, I can buy that Momo’s lack of effective resistance as a hostage here is because the sheer amount of alcohol in his system is catching up to him, but it does kind of stand out when by all rights of what we’ve seen him do (particularly when Yuki is endangered), they should not be having such an easy time holding him back. -Due to the switch in hostage, the anime skips Yuki almost collapsing out of the fear he had to hide once he’s released and the suits leave, and Momo coming to fuss over and compliment him before Yuki slaps him. If anyone felt that Yuki slapping Momo a new one Literally Immediately felt a bit abrupt, that’s why. I assume Yuki did check on Momo prior to this because when Momo’s dropped in the anime he’s closer to the bookshelf, whereas the argument happens in front of his window, it was just another sacrifice to the accursed 24 minute episode length gods. There were also some extra comedic lines to this scene after Momo’s “Wow, you’re really pissing me off”, including Yuki explicitly suggesting they settle the argument with their fists and Momo saying he’ll still K.O. Yuki despite being so drunk he can barely stand up. why are u both like this yuki you know momo could win a fight against you just by sitting on you or picking you up Third Beat overall -There’s one factor in the adaptation in regards to Momo that I really have to talk about because I’ve seen it have bearing on how people interpreted certain events or Momo himself - the anime cut a lot of Momo’s more savage, dry, or biting lines to people during Third Beat. Momo’s actually quite wry and sharp-tongued, particularly when he’s losing patience with someone but also just when he’s poking fun - he joins in on a few of Banri’s roasts on Yuki during the game version of the bar scene (which was also several chapters earlier in the game). However, the bigger impact I’ve seen with this was with the framing of Ryou and  Momo’s interactions in the first cour. While the dynamic is still highly toxic and demonstrates Ryou having a massive level of entitlement towards Momo, who by that point is mainly appeasing him because he’s a useful contact with information he needs, Momo gives back as good as he gets in pretty much every one of their scenes in ways that the anime largely tones down or removes. One particular example that can definitely affect the reading of their dynamic is Momo’s departure after disclosing Re:vale’s backstory in an attempt to tap into what little empathy Ryou might have - in the anime, he mostly seems sad and resigned, which I’ve seen at least a few people read as Momo being some sort of naive uwu who never realised what kind of person Ryou was. In the game, Ryou suggests that Momo stay over because he’s had a few to drink, and Momo (cw: emeto reference) drops by far one of my favourite of his bitter, wry roasts in the game: “I’m gonna puke at the entrance and leave. Thanks for having me over.” Momo is much more jaded about the number of untrustworthy people in the industry and how he has to handle his industry interactions than the anime tends to get into, and by the end of things with Ryou, there is a bitterness and irritation with him that comes across abundantly clearly even before Momo lets it all out on him during balcony. While Momo is willing to give people a chance in many situations where it may not feel deserved, he is not naive and he is not unaware that Ryou is a dangerous, twisted person even when he reveals Re:vale’s story. It’s a last-ditch effort to demonstrate how flawed the image Ryou has of idols is and stop his behaviour from escalating, because he knows if he’s going to draw any emotion out of the man then he has to dig as deep as possible - and he has to make it something personal, because as twisted as it is, Ryou’s consideration of Momo as a “friend” provides that tiny, tiny chance that he might respond to his feelings. Unfortunately, at that point Momo is unaware that Ryou considers the Yamato incident Momo’s second betrayal of him, and a lesser one than the first “betrayal” that’s revealed during the balcony scene, so it comes to nothing. As you can probably tell, I have a lot of thoughts about this particular adaptation choice, but tl;dr I highly recommend you read the game if you’re a Momo fan, because he’s actually kind of a fuckin savage on the regular and the game tends to make it clearer that he’s quite possibly the most dangerous person in the main cast if he has reason to be. Even people who are prepared to make an enemy of Ryou hesitate at the idea of making an enemy of Momo. -This isn’t really just a Third Beat thing but public service announcement for yukimomo enjoyers: you think they act romantic in the anime? The anime cuts a substantial amount of their flirting for time, since it’s essentially characterisation fluff and that’s always first on the chopping block. Want to see Momo talk about spicing up the relationship by wearing underwear with Yuki’s face on it, grumble about how Yuki’s handsome even when he’s mouthing off, call him a high class gentleman and a sexy icon that no other man in the world could hold a candle to? Want to see Yuki talk about how Momo begging steered the course of his life and the general implication surrounding the Re:vale backstory drop that Yuki, in a sense, also considers Momo a god or at least a gift from the gods to keep him going with his love for his music? Read the game. Also read the rabbitchats if you have time - these are the stories/conversations that come with cards in the game and the Re:vale ones always have at least one moment of pure, concentrated homosexual agenda per chat, but usually more. The Silver Sky bonus chats in particular, which take place post-Part 2/Second Beat, are foundational yukimomo content where you can learn such magical secrets as how Momo used to just kinda kidnap Yuki places while he was sleeping (feat. Momo’s fantasies about capturing and brainwashing Yuki that are discussed in multiple rabbitchats because momo why are you broadcasting this in groupchats you degenerate /affectionate), the fact that Yuki actually pierced Momo’s and his own ears to help get over his fear of sharp objects enough to cook again, and Banri’s thoughts on current Re:vale feat. him describing them both as feral. anyway if you read this far i appreciate you i just had to get these words out somewhere

Okay Note here. CHARACTER ASK. i7 Torao, Haruka, and Nagi. Ouran High School Haruhi. Batman Jason. Anyone in persona you must talk about (I don't know anyone there). Did I miss someone? (You don't have to do all. I am mereky curious)
THANK YOU NOTE!!! I'm gonna put all of these beneath a cut just so I don't clog up people's dashes <3
Torao Mido: (IDOLiSH7)
Tumblr media
Torao is the kind of character where you're like "literally why is he in the main cast when everyone else is a banger" and then you realize that his arc is just 4-5/6ths of the way into the story and you go Oh. Oh. I get it now. That's him. That said, I want to blast him with a fire hose.
Haruka Isumi: (IDOLiSH7)
Tumblr media
Haruka was my discord pfp for several months and I think that says a lot already. I love him so much, he's like. so bulliable and he should be bullied. Dramatic ass teenager baby that dresses like an e-boy. I love him so much and every time he bleps (:P) in official art I want to Die. Prime blorbo material.
Nagi Rokuya: (IDOLiSH7)
Tumblr media
I'll admit outright that, as someone who had Ouran High School Host Club change my brain chemistry forever when I was a child, and with i7 having a main character named Tamaki, I CONSTANTLY called Nagi "Tamaki" during the first season just because he was the silly blond weeb guy!! I was like holy shit there's two of them. And then I got to parts 3 and 4 and I was like Oh Holy Shit they're even more similar than I thought :'). Nagi is a BELOVED character of mine but it took a moment for me to grow into loving his character. I wish I saw more fan content of him because he fucking rocks, but he's also just on a different plane from a lot of the more popular characters and I get it. I love how everyone respects him as they should though. My king forever and ever.
Haruhi Fujioka: (Ouran High School Host Club)
Tumblr media
SPEAKING OF OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB. Haruhi's arc in the anime and manga is a little different, and obviously the anime wasn't supposed to end where it did, but with the changes the director and writers made, I truly believe that it would be impossible for the animeverse to end the same way the mangaverse did. Anyways Haruhi is a really funny character because she's supposed to be the straightman in a lot of the jokes, but she's just as dramatic and silly as everyone else. And it's great. 10/10 protagonist, every time I think of her I think of that tumblr post about her with the big brown eyes and I go Yeah. yeah.
Jason Todd: (DC Comics; Batman)
Tumblr media
(If you can't read that square, it says "SCOTT LOBDELL")
Jason was NOT my favorite DC character or even Robin for a long, long time. I only really got into his character when I started working on my fic, Beyond Imagination, and had to start analyzing what a younger Jason was like and how he would interact with the world in a modern day and age. All of the Batman characters get flanderized and mischaracterized by fanon and canon a lot, so it's hard to figure out what was generally agreed upon as canon unless you read yourself, but Jason's got a strong story and personality that really shined with his resurrection. I'd say it's one of the best uses of reviving a character thought to be dead, and every time I think about his death and like. both the in-universe and real life events that lead up to it, I get emotional. Great character that makes me deeply ill to think of from a meta-perspective.
Maya Amano: (Persona 2 Innocent Sin & Persona 2 Eternal Punishment)
Tumblr media
Okay so. You may have noticed I tagged two Persona games for her and that's because, spoilers for Persona 2, the first Persona 2 (Innocent Sin) is a timeline that fails. The game with you resetting the timeline because you fucked up that badly, and the second Persona 2 (Eternal Punishment) is your second shot and doing things over. HOWEVER. Maya changes with the timelines because she was doomed to die with how things were set up in Innocent Sin, and fixing that to give the timeline a shot in Eternal Punishment changes her as a character. This bingo is more about Innocent Sin Maya, who is a 23 year old girlfailure reporter that makes me Deeply Deeply Ill. If you're ever curious, you can send me an ask and I'll talk about her more in depth because Persona 2 isn't the easiest game to play
Thank you for the ask!!!

#6. IDOLiSH7💕

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11dies
SO THE FIRST PART LET'S START THERE (im going to scream and cry about the whole episode right now so cut)
kaoru anesagi i fucking love you with all my heart she deserves so so much for giving nothing but her all and working her fucking ass off for these boys her crying alone is enough to break my heart and the way not a SINGLE ONE OF HER FUCKING TEARS IS JOYFUL. IT'S ALL BECAUSE HER BOYS HAVE LOST IT ALL!!!!! SHE CAN ONLY FEEL GRIEF RIGHT NOW ARGHH STARTS BITING
and then the trigger live in the rain... the way it goes through all our idols stopping what they're doing to watch the broadcast on their phone is heartwarming and Well, you know me, always very excited when we get a live performance in this anime and i looooooove love secret night, i have the choreography bits from their anime debut with it memorized so, to the girls who were mouthing the words during the performance, me fucking too i was doing the dance and singing along even for the whole segment with yamamitsunagi (of course except for the brief moment where i had to go "Don't even say that right now dude. don't even go there There is no sakura haruki that bitch is dead and gone i swear don't even with me right now")
.....which leads us to TENN FUCKING CRYING ON STAGE AFTER THE SONG..........AAAUUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHFUCKKKKKKKK DUUUDE an d and riku monologuing about it this is such deep ass shit for an idol show it's ridiculous Tenn Kujo is a strange strange little guy and i want to punch him for it and cradle himin my arms because everything is okay but also he needs to get his shit together but also life isnt fair to him but but :((((
(plus those girls who ran all the way from fuck knows where to get to trigger in the rain oouughhh my heart these in universe fans are so wonderful and passionate it's so relieving whenever they show their undying support)
so im reeling over that right. only half way through. and i play the idolish7 video game so i have a vague memory of the plot outline, right? we get to the scene where iori is rewinding clips of riku and i pause to hold my face. LET MEOUT WE CAN'T DO THIS NOT HERE NOT NOW I DONT WANT TO WATCH THIS ANYMORE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NO this meta arc is so incredible and interesting from a writer's point of view and from an anime consumer point of view even but for Fucking Sake dude they are IDOLS just HAPPY LITTLE POSITIVE IDOLS CAN YOU LEAVE ME ALONE AND MAYBE SAVE THIS TOPIC FOR LIKE..A REGULAR SHONEN JUMP OR SOME SHIT come on (the way iori is the only one who didnt watch the trigger live because he was too busy being weird and breaking my heart. whatever)
then that WHOLE ASS SCENE where the environmental symbolism ISNT SUBTLE AT ALLL with riku sitting in the dark half of the room while iori is in the light AND I DONT EVEN NEED TO SAY IT DO I. HEARTBREAKING, VOMMITING MY GUTS OUT, MAD AT IORI, MAD AT THE WRITERS, MAD AT THE WORLD
Tumblr media
the way he full on WHISPERED with ALL THE DESPERATION OF THE EARTH AND HEAVEN AND HELL IN HIS VOICE didn't i promise to make you a superstar? don't go anywhere without me
if i7 was just a smidge more popular iori nation would be fighting for their fucking lives on twitter right now. im telling you i can see it and im getting a headache imagining it
and then we went there again with the live! i love perfection gimmick :)! i have every bit of choreography they gave us memorized from the iori center arc (normal well adjusted behavior) and the lyrics are particularly easy to sing for japanese learning beginners! so when i tell you i started kicking and punching the air when riku didn't do his fucking part with me. and then he goes and starts CRYING. I AM SICK I AM SOOOO SO SICK
and iori's. speech his revelational speech to tsumu. i was screaming and eating my entire fist i was really trying to get as much of my hand into my mouth as i possibly could that was the most painful thing to listen to i think we all need to never watch an episode of idolish7 again and we will all be okay. im not even going to get into picking apart his points and why i feel so strongly about them being brought to light we'd be here for 6 more hours But but the way he DOUBLES DOWN when tsumu tries to take him off of it and just like i mean like iori, girl, so true, so insightful, but this road will only lead us straight into hell. Please
i dont want to give stupid ass kujo whom i punch through my screen (physically, for real i start hitting my screen when he shows up on instinct) the time of day but when he says that tenn is just doing what riku does... sapping empathy out of the fans to regain trigger's bearings.........fuuuuuuuck let me ooooout
and of course. finishing off the shitshow with the zool ed that fucks severely. by that point all of the life has been drained from my body but i must dance because it still goes hard. a lovely way to end evey mental breakdown this forsaken show bestows upon me
[nyas weakly and collapses onto the floor with you]

I guess I’m into idol shows now?
A quick note to mention that *some* people have worn me down enough to watch Idolish7 and it is shameless shlock that uses every trope in the book and you can see them coming from a mile away and I’m very into it and also mildly in love with Yamato’s arms.

Could you please explain why Kujo said that Riku is a monster? I didn't quite understand that part ... >﹏
Hello! In part 3, Kujou said 3 things about Riku and I think they’re related to your question:1. Riku is a monster2. Tenn is better than Riku3. Riku resembles Zero more than Tenn
1. Kujou said that Riku is a monster. It’s because Riku can influence people’s feelings. Just like looking at a child or animal, looking at Riku makes you want to give him whatever he wants. In good and bad ways.
Kujou thinks that Riku is a monster that can make the fans do anything for him. As long as Riku is happy, they’re happy. And sooner or later, they’ll stop caring about anything else.
2. Kujou chose Tenn instead of Riku, even though he said that Riku resembled Zero more. Because Tenn gives happiness to the fans, while Riku gets it from the fans.
Tenn sings to make the fans happy, to see their smiles. Riku wants to make the fans happy too, but what he really wants is to sing with everyone. Riku is a selfish monster that keeps singing because he is happy, because everyone makes him happy.
In part 3, Anesagi said that a perfect idol is an idol who lasts forever.Tenn is a perfect idol. When Ryuu stood on the stage alone, Tenn’s fans still shouted Tenn’s names, but they also cheered for Ryuu. When TRIGGER announced that they left Yaotome Production, Tenn promised to come back, and the fans believed in him. Because they knew that Kujou Tenn would never betray his fans.
But when Iori replaced Riku’s center position, some of Riku’s fans couldn't accept it. There was even a fight between Iori fans & Riku fans. Because Riku’s fans wanted Riku to be happy, and they would do anything for it.
Plus, Riku doesn’t think he will sing forever. In wishing upon shooting star, it’s implied that Nanase Riku is a shooting star, that shines brightly even for a second. In part 3 when Yamato and Mitsuki left the dorms, Riku realized that there will be an end to idolish7 someday. But his fans want the dream to last forever…
We know Riku’s fans’ reactions were like that when Riku wasn’t the center anymore,… What if Riku stopped being an idol? His fans that had given everything they had, done anything for him, what would happen to them?
3. Riku resembles Zero. Why? because they have the same power: to influence people’s feelings.
What happens after Zero’s gone?Zero’s manager, Kujou Takamasa, desperately ‘produces’ idols that will surpass Zero. He also wrote “Give back my song” on walls when Re:vale tried to sing Zero’s song Dis one.Zero’s song composer, Sakura Haruki traveled the world looking for Zero.Zero’s fan, Mitsuki, got angry when he heard that Zero had been broken, that he had run away from his job. He refused to accept that Zero was not like what he thought.
Kujou thinks that sooner or later, those around Riku will be like that, if Riku stops being an idol. Kujou is afraid that Riku will be the next Zero, bringing unfortunes to his own fans.
That’s why he said Riku is a monster.
That’s why he said that it’s Tenn that will surpass Zero, not Riku. An angel, Kujou Tenn can surpass Zero. Because even if he disappeared, his fans would still believe in him.
Nanase Riku can be the next Zero, but he can’t surpass him.Because if he disappears, what remains is not happiness, but complete disorder, a chaos..
Just like what happened to those around Zero in the past.

his wardrobe would center, first and foremost, around comfort. low maintenance ops, fully shirred jsks to hide his growing beer gut, you name it. he’d also sneak some of meta’s wa-lolita pieces in there, as well as pieces from aatp’s wine-themed releases!

2021 is off to a good damn start for me, because I began this year with some wonderful stimulation — I finally got to see Road To Infinity!!
It really was something absolutely stellar from start to finish and even behind the scenes. RTI was such a wonderful idea for a series about what it takes to be an idol in the industry, all the ups and downs and challenges with watching their lives... and then they not only gave us one to watch for real, for the full experience of seeing our favorite characters live — minus Riku, holy crap, if he ran like his voice actor did he’d be dead — but then turned right back around and let us see behind the curtain as well. It’s just nice and meta to think about like that and I love it, haha.
RTI will always mean something special. It truly was a wonderful experience that connected everyone; fans and performers alike. IDOLiSH7 really is something special. ❤️
Also, I’m so glad that Saito Soma declared himself as Tenn on such a special day — before celebrating early with Riku, on my birthday.
Thanks, Iori, for that. 💙 Go, go, on your dream!!

On Yamato’s Vacuum Cleaning Robot: Musashi
Tumblr media
This will be an analysis on why Yamato’s cleaning robot is called “Musashi.”
(under break)
“Musashi” is a historically significant name in Japan. Most Japanese people are familiar with this name, normally referring to one of the following:
Miyamoto Musashi - famous samurai and poet/writer
Battleship Musashi - a famous WWII battleship, sister ship to the Battleship Yamato.
Musashi Province - former province in the area of present-day Tokyo. There is still a city called “Musashino” inside Tokyo.
The name is popular as a place name as well as a name for numerous characters in various forms of media.
Battleship Musashi
I will begin with the name of the battleship, as it is the first association I naturally made with the cleaning robot. Musashi, the vacuum, traverses a room, much like a battleship at sea.
Tumblr media
The Battleship Musashi, named after the aforementioned Musashi Province, is described as a Yamato-class battleship, as it is the sister ship to the Battleship Yamato (same kanji spelling as the character). These ships were specially designed to fend off air attacks. Yamato and Musashi are the only two Yamato-class battleships produced (although a third, Shinano, was converted to an aircraft carrier). It would makes sense that Yamato would have a little Musashi sailing around his room.
Both battleships gained cultural significance in the aftermath of WWII, as they represent Japan’s naval strength and dedication to engineering. Battleship Yamato, likewise, was named after the Yamato Province (present-day Nara Prefecture), which was the governmental center of Japan during the Yamato Period (250–710 CE). The name “Yamato” is also assigned as a historical name of Japan, due to this period.
Battleship Yamato furthermore is a significant reference for anime fans, because in the anime Space Battleship Yamato (1974), the historical battleship is reformed into a space ship. Many otaku and those working in anime-related fields will know about the Space Battleship Yamato, due to its significance in paving the way for sci-fi anime like Gundam, Evangelion, and Macross, as well as being successfully dubbed and released in the US in the 70′s.
Miyamoto Musashi
I first came across this reference, as an acquaintance of mine is a bit of a samurai otaku. In a group, we were talking about Skytree, and the question, “How tall is Skytree?” came up. He answered immediately, “634 meters.”
The reason being that there is a restaurant on the viewing deck of Skytree called Musashi, and due to the pronunciation, it became an easy mnemonic device to remember the height of Skytree.
Mu - 6
Sa - 3
Shi - 4
Upon thinking about this, I am immediately reminded of this scene, because it is the duty of an IDOLiSH7 fan to be sensitive to numbers.  (It doesn’t help that Skytree showed up in a Vibrato episode and reminded me of this fact again.)
Tumblr media
Of course, my acquaintance remembered both the restaurant name and the mnemonic because it shares a name with a famous samurai, Musashi, so here are some fun connections between Nikaido Yamato and the samurai Musashi.
Musashi was known for creating a two-sword technique called “Niten Ichi-ryuu ( 二天一流 ),” which is “two heavens as one” technique, two as in Nikaido, #2. (Yes, “heaven” is the same kanji in Tenn’s name.)
Musashi had two adopted sons who were also samurai, first Mikinosuke (三木之助), and then a second adopted son named Iori (伊織). The kanji for 3 is the same in both Mitsuki’s and Mikinosuke’s names. The character for “ori” is the same in both the son Iori and the i7 member. Take that as you will.
The next few connections are spoilers. Please only read beyond this point if you don’t mind spoilers for the game story Part 3, and the Re:member novels/manga for Yuki’s chapters.
Musashi’s father, Munisai, was also a famous samurai at the time. Although this is a debated topic, it is believed that Musashi’s mother was not the woman who was married to his father during most of Musashi’s life. This somewhat parallels Yamato as an illegitimate son of Chiba Shizuo. And then, Yamato ended up following in his father’s footsteps and became an actor.
Musashi lived with his uncle from the age of 7, so he lived most of his childhood and adolescence away from his father, until later returning to him to learn his sword technique at the age of 23, the same age at which Yamato would be attempting to reconnect with his father in Part 3. (I wonder where this will lead in Part 4...)
Tumblr media
Chiba Shizuo is famous for his many samurai roles, and is shown acting as a swordsman in Re:member, in which Chiba is thinking about Yamato a lot and shares his family history with Yuki. It would be a small treat if it ends up he portrays either Musashi or Munisai at any point in his career.
I’m not sure how meta you want to take this, but if “Musashi” carries the same historical, anime-relevant, and samurai-historical weight in both real life and IDOLiSH7′s world, then what does that mean for Yamato, who named his own vacuum cleaner this?  💚

3.14.2: MOP
Tumblr media
Ryuu: Gracias por esperar. ¿Cómo han estado? Tenn: Bien. Se te nota contento, Ryuu. Me alegra.
Ryuu: ¿No resaltará demasiado...? ¿Ok? Empezaré por el final. Kaoru: Nuestra meta es el MOP. Tenn: MOP… Music of People. Kaoru: Hasta llegar a esa meta, vamos a ir amontonando lives. Gaku: Aunque los llamemos lives, no podemos rentar lugares grandes aún, ¿no? Kaoru: Cierto. Mujer: Me alegro tanto... Gaku: ... Mujer: Hemos estado tan preocupados por ustedes... Pero, si tienen una reunión, significa que... Significa que continuarán, ¿cierto? Mujer: ¿Volverán a presentarse? Gaku: ...Por supuesto. Mujer: ¡¿P-puedo?! Muchas gracias... Gaku: Está bien, no me molesta... Nunca volveremos a hacerte llorar así. Sé paciente y confía en nosotros, ¿sí? Mujer: ¡Por supuesto!
Kaoru: Bien, suban al auto y... Mujer: ¡Kyaaa!

Idolish7 Obey Me
Twisted-wonderland cap 2
Scary Monsters
Ghost Marriage
Happy Beans 2
Vargas Camp

Tumblr media
Mitsuki: ¡Estamos en Holanda!
Iori: Hemos llegado a salvo.
Mitsuki: ¡Mira, lori!
Tsumugi: Oh...!
Iori: Aunque si fuera posible, me gustaría ir.
Mitsuki: La tengo, vayamos a verla juntos.
¡No puedo esperar!
