Scott Summers speaks to me on a personal autistic level in Marvel Snapshots and I want to talk about it a little bit

Trying to be helpful bc you know something and being told you're weird for it

Obsessed with the Fantastic Four/superheroes (same) and being especially drawn to them bc they're different like him (I mean his favourite is Reed who's also autistic/heavily autistic coded in most comics, and again SAME, Scott)

Thinking you just need to figure out one thing and suddenly all the strange things about you will make sense

Being obsessive about his interests (HARD RELATE I GET LIKE THIS A LOT)

Ignoring real life things/responsibilities bc he's so focused on something he's obsessed with (in this case seeing a member of the Fantastic Four)

Thinking that other autistic people who seem to have it all 'together' have figured out how to almost be allistic/completely understand the world like an allistic person when really you never will and that's fine!! (idk how to word this bit right for iykyk I guess?? Basically I will never fully 'get it' with some things that make sense to allistics but that's fine)

When ppl say they struggle with people pleasing (esp when the ppl around them would NOT agree) what I hear is "I have ignored my personal limits for years and let my boundaries erode and now every little thing that's asked of me feels like too much because my nervous system is fried and I have to rebuild trust within myself"

This is absolutely not meant as an insult, it's just a pattern I've seen, esp in people with autism maybe? Because you might have unconventional limits or lower limits compared to others and you try to mask those needs

I feel like ppl joke abt it, "oh when someone says they struggle with people pleasing but have never pleased a person in their life", but... Yeah idk I think more often than not it's this right here. There's probably exceptions, but still.

I had this thought the other night but wouldn't it be really funny to have a wizard character/mage that is insanely talented at casting high level magic but they are the kinda "born with this talent" talented and can only cast max level spells but doesn't actually understand how they work or are completely fucking useless like

"Hey man can you summon a light orb?"

Summons a ball of light so powerful the guy goes blind

"Hey we need to light a fire"

Sets half the country on fire

"Dude I miss my cat"

Literally summons a million cats

Like this guy is insanely good at magic but just. cant use it normally and can not learn low level magic it's basically all or nothing with the added bonus of not even understanding the magic itself like imagine just this guy is waving their hand around stimming and suddenly you're under 100 feet of water from a tsunami like you don't wanna get rid of him from fear of them destroying the world and they also can be helpful at times like exploding world destroying bosses but they should never be asked to help when the stove is broken
