I am actually going to see both of them on Friday, this is not just a meme. Back to back. I could not miss the Opp-ortunity for such an absurd double feature.

Seeing Oppy in Imax and then Barbie in regular digital. I planned this out to try and maximize the vibes at the end of the experience but I didn't account for the fact that I may end up with my retinas seared off by the first showing so I may be blinded for the second showing. I'll return here with my thoughts on both movies, as I see them, if I can see them, because this is a blog site and I'm going to use it.

once i imagined my mother in a world where she never had her children

she was a writer. she was happy.

A part me was born when I held you

My heart grew that I can't deny

Before you I didn't think it was true

But a part of me died when I held you

The dreams I thought I would know

The places I imagined I'd get to

The thing I still wanted to show

You see I never wanted to be a mother

I didn't ever think I would be

And when I brought you into the world

I had to bury all I'd thought I could be

It isn't your fault that it's difficult

I don't blame you for all I let go

My heart it grew just to love you

But there was pain I tried not to show

I grieved for the life that I wanted

And I cried alone where nobody could hear

I loved you from the moment I met you

But I also was consumed by the fear

That I no longer existed

That I no longer had a name

My life was made up of you entirely

And I was never the same.

I've tried to explain to people

This sentiment you'll never know

But I buried my dreams when I had you

I pushed hope and desire below

Part of myself became separate
