ok i know im not creative when it comes to aus but i thought itd be interesting to tell the story of MH through EMH’s story? IF YOU GUYS HAVE THOUGHTS OR QUESTIONS PLS LEAVE SOME IN MY INBOX!!! :-]( or even questions for the MH!EMH characters heh)1

Basically its just marble hornets told through EMH, for example instead of “tapes i found” story telling theyd open a youtube channel for tips and tricks on making your own movie while they make their own called Marble Hornets! EMH/MLA spoilersish up ahead

Since Mlanderson and EMH are in the same universe i thought id make Brian the Michael/Patrick of this story, except more involved. Instead of their being a shaun i think id like Brian to just go to MH crew, if ykwim. I did this cause the only other character i thought could fit Brian was Alex!EMH and I didnt like that.

My take on Masky is that hes just a more aware Tim, not a separate being (tho i do like to think of it that way for fun sometimes ha ha). Masky in my mind was in a battle against the operators control and was ultimately trying to help Jay. I think Masky would br Habit in this series cause of the theory that Habit is one of the first few iterations of Evan, thats why theyre similar and so compatible etc if you know the theory you know. That does mean that Tim isnt gonna act all ha ity, just more erratic i think, i havent gone tooooooo far into a characterization(or even a name) for Emh!MH Habit yet

I think the rest of the correspondences make sense if you think about it a bit. Jay as Vinnie makes sense to me because of boths compulsive need for answers even though its destructive to those around them. Jay wouldnt be as much as a villain in this like vinnie is (or maybe i havent decided muahaha). I also thought they fit cause they both do that weird thing where they constatly have to document everything.

I thought tim eould fit Evan just cause of the whole habit arc.

Alex as Jeff was more of a fill a role thing that eventually made sense to me. I did think of making him Evan and Tim Jeff, and im still thinking of doing this, but i thought the whole finding the gf arc would fit alex more. Alex would still be one of the villains i think. Like i said this would be marble hornets told through EMH lol. I might even switch it up and assign a habit type role to Alex instead and there be two patrick characters who knows!

A/n: I made this jealous/protective Xaden with a hint of anger in there and of course it ends in fluff

Warnings: angst

Xaden wouldn’t describe himself as jealous or insecure when it came to his relationship with you. But he couldn’t help his emotions when he saw you with another boy in your year, Bryson.

He never wanted to step on your toes or be controlling. You’re your own person and he didn’t want to be the crazy boyfriend. But, his gut was telling him that Bryson wasn’t truly your friend.

As Xaden walked down the hall he saw you, Rhi, Liam, and Bryson on your way to lunch. You were all laughing and he smiled. Your laugh is infectious and it made him unbelievably happy.

His smile quickly turned into a frown as Bryson caressed your shoulder. He noticed the uncomfortable expression that flashed on your face as your eyes watched his hand. You shrug him off and the four of you go back to your conversation. Why didn’t you say something? He though to himself.

Sgaeyl clears her throat in his mind, “Don’t leave her with him Riorson. Go to her.” At her command Xaden’s pace quickens.

He shoves in next to you, pushing Bryson to walk behind the group. Xaden drapes his arm around you, “Hi sweetheart.” His the corner of his lip curves upward as you look up at him, relief washing over you. “Hi babe.” You wrap your arms around his middle and he kisses the top of your head.

Xaden throws Bryson a glare while your face is buried in his chest. It promises a painful death if he ever touches you again.

A little over a week later Xaden had some free time, so he set out to find you. You were in one of the study halls with Rhi and Liam, books spread out on the table in front of you. You were all relaxed in the worn leather armchairs until Liam sat up, spotting Bryson making his way over.

He sat on the arm of your chair. You clearly didn’t want him there as he made himself comfortable. Liam’s eyes lock with Xaden’s. Liam could tell Xaden was furious. He started beckoning Xaden over with slight head movements and his eyes, begging him to make Bryson leave.

Xaden had brought him up to Liam a few nights ago, asking why he wouldn’t leave you alone. Usually Liam keeps an eye on you for Xaden, protecting you when he couldn’t. “I tell him she’s with you all the time and to back off but he won’t listen to me.” Liam had said. Xaden didn’t like that answer. He made sure to try and be around more to scare Bryson off, but clearly his presence wasn’t enough for this asshole.

You notice Liam looking over your shoulder and turn to see who was behind you. As soon as you spot Xaden you smile. Thank Gods! You kept meaning to tell him about Bryson bothering you. You were fed up with being and nice and by the look on Xaden’s face you knew he was done too. Xaden gives you a tight nod as his eyes narrow on the back of Bryson’s head.

Bryson moves his hand from his lap to play with the ends of your ponytail. You freeze at the unwanted touch. Rhi let’s out a sigh through her teeth, “You better let go of her dude.” Before he can process what Rhi said to him Xaden grabbed him by the shoulder, ripping him off your armchair.

“I never. Want to see you around her again.” His scowl looked like a menacing dragons. If you didn’t know he was human, you’d expect him to start spitting fire at any moment. He pulled Bryson roughly by the front of his shirt, “Do you understand me? You ever bother her again you’re dead.”

Bryson looked like he was about to wet himself, finally being met with Xaden’s anger was terrifying. He nods like his head is about to fall off. He stumbles over his words and Xaden pushes him away. Bryson trips over his feet as he rushes out of the study hall.

You stand up, flinging your arms around Xaden. “Thank you.” He wraps an arm around your waist, bringing his other hand up to cradle the back of your head. “Are you ok?” “Yeah, I’m good.” Xaden sits in your chair, pulling you into his lap.

You rest your head on his shoulder, leaving a few pecks on the side of his neck. With Bryson gone everyone let’s out a sigh of relief. Your little group falls into easy conversation and you relax against Xaden. Happy he’s holding you, safe in his arms.

Onyx storm spoilers thoughts don’t read to not be spoiled!!!

VIOLET FUCKING FORGOT THEIR WEDDING? Can imogen give memories back because holy shit I can’t imagine why except if she knew where Xaden was going and didn’t want to have that info but still the whole fucking wedding? Or maybe it was too painful after Xaden left.

I wonder who stole the dragon eggs. I don’t think it was Xaden… maybe pancheck stole them as part of his betrayal but would his dragon allow that? Was it Bernwyn? Was it the new forces from the isle that worship Zinhal?

Also did Garrick fucking turn too? Like dude. I guess it could’ve been Bodhi or someone else who knew that Xaden had turned? But whoever it was had seen him fighting it for 5 months and with Garrick among the missing it seems like it would be him. But maybe a red herring. We don’t know why Bodhi was wretching the last time we saw him. Also do we know what Bodhi’s second signet is? Most of the other marked ones have revealed (Xaden, Imogen, Garrick, Liam in the past). Sloane hasn’t but she’s a first year (although Violet seemed surprised there wasn’t a mark on Brennan or Dain when she transferred power so maybe she has some sort of healing thing?)

Xaden seems to have some sort of hope or something that he worked out with Sgaeyl. They let Violet decide their fates but I’m not sure what choice exactly (whether Xaden lives or dies seems obvious? And maybe by extension whether Sgaeyl lives/dies?).

Really really enjoyed getting the new perspectives of Imogen and Rhi. God I felt for imogen so hard. In less than a page Yarros had me in tears “we made it a good one” and then the flashback to Quinn’s first words to her? It’s clear Pancheck set them up and told the venin what they were doing in the tower so I’m glad he died. Not sure what his dragon was thinking betraying the Empyrean like that.

I kinda don’t like that there’s another shadow wielder. I don’t remember much about Lynx either. I guess to show that magic knows but it makes me wonder if he’ll have a bigger part to play and I feel like she’ll either have to off him or have him turn into a “villain” (meaning go against Xaden/Violet). Also what makes Lynx the one to wield shadows? Does he have need of secrecy like Xaden? And is his dragon especially powerful like Sgaeyl?

Also I know violet is very smart and also has to discover things at the right moment for proper suspense, and also doesn’t have the benefit of knowing she’s in a story, but AARIC HAVING PRECOGNITION WAS SO OBVIOUS GIRL! Why would the reasonable prince randomly tell you to protect a temple without reason? Why do you hesitate to open packages delivered at great risk to you on the battlefield, like they’re spam mail that can be forgotten about till later. Maybe this is me but I open packages as soon as I get them because a) I love stuff, and b) I love opening things. But for real I get it’s supposed to be so super rare that it doesn’t happen.

I wonder what the 6 most powerful signets are that are going to walk the earth at the same time? We’ve got shadows and lightning. Precognition also seems really powerful. The distance walker thing as well maybe. Leaving two more. The storms seem to be powerful but Violet’s mom is gone already and idk that another first year will randomly get it.

I also hope Violet’s dad had a different reason for trying to dedicate her to Dunne than to “fix” her.

Ok those are my immediate thoughts.

“shua” you said happily, taking the seat in the library next to him. when you sat you noticed the work and textbooks splayed out in front of him “what’re we working on here?”

“yn hey!” joshua said with a smile, already clearing space for you to join him more comfortably. “i was just finishing off that assignment we had for chem, it’s so tiring i’m starting to lose my mind i think” he laughed easily.

you looked at his work for a second and nodded at his words, you were still only halfway through yours. “i get you, i tried working on some of it last night and contemplated dropping out at least five times”

joshua smiled when you laughed, taking notice of the pretty ways your eyes crinkled in joy causing a warmth to creep up on his face.

for the next thirty minutes a steady atmosphere settled over the both of you, both focused on your work and occasionally asking the other for help.

joshua wouldn’t like to admit it but he looked over at you enough times to make it embarrassing and plain desperate.

“did you hear about that movie playing this weekend? apparently it’s super scary some people even passed out” you said with excitement lacing your tone.

truth be told, joshua couldn’t handle scary movies well. sure when he went to a haunted house or an escape room he could handle it but the movies were different. the way they make it just makes it overly eerie!

that would not hold him back if you asked him to go with you though.

“really? you .. go?” idiot, what the hell was that?

You ever notice how Violet barely interacts with the regular citizens of Navarre? She goes to Rhiannon’s house twice and never talks to Raegan despite having more conversations with Rhiannon’s on-and-off girlfriend.

Idk if there’s a scene I skipped in Iron Flame where she goes around talking to people, but it kinda reads like Violet doesn’t actually care as much as she should about their plight (which makes sense considering she’s a military nepobaby). I think this is one of the reasons why the world feels so empty to me.

Yess!!! I've commented about this with a friend and thank goodness someone else noticed it too. I have issues with how the Tara/Rhi situation was done but that's for another day.

Sorry in advance for the essay, I have a lot to say about this and am very happy someone asked.

I can't remember any interaction with a non-military on the page, which is weird considering there's a little village in Aretia, but RY never bothers to show it to us, just like she never showed us Shantara (the little village near Basgiath) and instead opted to include Xaden and Violet having the same fight for the fifth time. (the romance in IF took too much off the plot for my taste)

It's weird that Violet never interacts with civilians, (who are probably the ones keeping things clean/cooking/sewing/etc) but again, including civilians would require RY to develop the world beyond surface-level and I don't think she's too worried about Navarre's culture/currency/lifestyle beyond war, death, and dragons so why include a character who's not involved in either.

Now, on a character level, Violet is often used as a self-insert (unfortunately, because my girl deserves better) so we can say that, just like RY, she understands the value of civilian life abstractly since she was raised in the military. Civilians are numbers, casualties, workforce and must be protected on principle but she doesn't interact with or consider them on a personal level. That has nothing to do with her own morality, it's simply the way she was raised and could be an interesting arc for her character (there's already a moment during Resson that it really hits her that those numbers are people) and I hope it happens but I doubt it.

Another thing that drives me insane is that we never see a child in any of the outposts (even tho Violet says very clearly that she grew up going from outpost to outpost) in fact the only time besides Rhi's nephew that children were included in the story was in Resson, and they were only used as cannon fodder to show how horrible the war was.

That itself wouldn't have bothered me so much if we had seen a couple children playing in Montserrat to at least show us that the officers have lives and aren't just soldier-shaped cardboard cutouts, BUT when we take the way children were written in addition to RY's Instagram post about the "conflict" in Palestine it gets weird with the whole idea of "a perfect victim" she sprinkles here and there in her books (I can elaborate if someone wants to)

You obviously love the things about her that the average person crossing her on the street would notice about her too,, But there's just something about being so close to her, knowing things about her that no one else does. Being able to notice things about her that no one else does. Being able to notice things about her, without her even telling you things. You love knowing that you will always know her more than anyone, no matter what.

She's so cute. the way her eyes and cheeks puff slightly when she laughs or smiles real hard, the way she side eyes you when she sees you hanging out with Chan or berry over her, the sarcasm that you guys share, even if over the smallest of things. and while she claims to be the mean sibling, she swears she's the nicest girlfriend. You could confirm both of those. However, it then makes you sound like you're a mean girlfriend. It's not that you're mean per say, you just aren't good with your feelings and Hannah's always been better at expressing them to you then you are to her, or anyone, for that matter. If anything, Hannah's the easiest person for you to express your feelings to.

You're also insanely proud of her. Proud of her for everything. She dyes her hair? "oh my god, it looks so good baby!! Good job." she makes food? "oh my god, this is so good. Good job, for real"

You were especially proud of her music skills.

At first you were kinda upset that she won't let you hear it, but you respect her boundaries. Plus, knowing that Chan hasn't even heard it yet either made you feel better.

She's told you that it's nothing personal, especially with you. she just doesn't want anyone to hear it until it's put out. And anyone just so happened to include you and her brother. Plus, she valued yours and chans opinion greatly. She figured that if either you or Chan didn't like her song somehow or something, that she wouldn't go through with releasing it. Which she really didn't want to do, considering how long she's spent on making just this one song.

Once she knew when it was going to be released, she told you when right away. You and Chan were the first to know that, along with her parents. Or maybe she would make you wait, let you see the timer she posted on her Instagram story, and watch you go insane. Until then though, you would be the most impatient little fucker ever.

It's was now around the time you and Hannah usually end up falling asleep during a move or something, but tonight you just would not leave Hannah alone.

"I'm actually so exited. I'm not even trying to be funny, but I don't think I can wait like a month." you said, laying next to Hannah on her bed.

She was laying on her side, facing away from you, and you were laying next to her on your back. The two of you originally started out with spooning, but you soon got relentless and started moving, which ended up changing your original position.

You sat up so you were now leaning back on the headboard and looked over Hannah's shoulder. You can see a slight smirk on her face, but you can also tell she was slightly annoyed.

"yeah but like what if I CAN'T."

"you will. You'll be with me for the whole time, and we're going to a concert soon. Time will go by fast." she tries to convince you.

You bring your finger up motioning as you speak. "yeah, OK, but you see-you say that, but really-"

"oh my god" Hannah groans, knowing that you would just keeps going on and on in continuous circles. you frown and her words and tone of voice, upset at yourself for making her annoyed, especially when she's trying to sleep, and you feel bad for your obnoxious behavior.

she turns her body around so she’s facing you and leans up so she can kiss your lips. “Shut up” another kiss. “and go to sleep” another kiss.

Your mood quickly goes up again just from feeling the touch of her soft lips against yours, and the fact that her voice has softened again. Her voice is teasing and you can tell she's slightly annoyed still, but she's more in awe of you then annoyed.

Hannah scoots back down into the bed and clings onto your leg and your waist/hips.

Hannah looks up at you and says “Goodnight. I love you” with a smile on her face, teeth showing slightly and the underneath of her eyes get slightly puffy as she smiles at you. Because of you.

you look down to her and reciprocate her smile and words back to her. “Goodnight. I love you, and I’m beyond proud of you.”

Although it's dim in her bedroom, you can see from the slight light that Hannah blushes at your words. “I try my best to make you proud.”

“hannah, you don’t even have to try.” “I’m beyond proud to be able to call you mine too”

Hannah’s blush gets more intense in response to your statement. “Always love.”

LET'S TALK GENSHIN AND REMURIA AND ARLECCHINO BEFORE I FORGET AND WE'RE ALREADY IN SECOND HALF OF THE PATCH WHY DOES TIME FLY WHEN YOU'RE AN ADULT

I'm gonna start the post with a few paragraphs I wrote just a few days after the patch went live:

So I finished the first Remuria world quest - it was beautiful. And really not as long as I first expected it to be. I probably could have finished it on the first day if I wouldn't have been as tired as I was

First of all the new map is beautiful. You'd think after 3? patches of map expansions where we already got underwater stuff it would feel repetetive but somehow it looks and feels different and refreshing. Maybe because majority of the map are caves where you can walk normally or they're ruins... idk.

I couldn't help but draw parallels between Remuria and HSR's Penacony tho, especially look-wise, the talk of a dreamscape and the theme of music. Especially now after finishing Penacony 2.2 I can't help but feel the two are very similar in certain aspects... the motive of Harmony and Song and Peace and saving a people and Gods? Also the way Remuria looks is so similar to certain things in Penacony? I already said rhis in my post on HSR, this is absolutely no hate whatsoever. I reckon there's only so much you can do with these motives? It's interesting how differently it looks in both games tho.

So yeah, Remuria is beautiful. The music is an out of body experience and encapsulates the whole thing perfectly. I haven't explored all of the map yet, but I like the new mechanisms a lot. The floating books look so cool and just generally the significance of music through it all... *sigh* it's so enjoyable.

So far for Remuria... i definitely missed a few things I wanted to say but it's been like 2 weeks since I played this and I definitely forgot something haha

First of all she's broken omg. It is kind lf annoying that it'll take weeks to max out her talents, rn for me she's sitting at crowned NA and skill and burst are level 7 each. But she still hits for like over 50k with each normal attack when she has a bond of life. Don't even get me started on her with Yelan MY GOD.

Okay with that out of the way let me talk about her story quest. First of all I find it very intriguing that hyv gave up on the usual pattern of having the second weekly boss for a nation be tied to the Archon and their respective second story quest (besides Mond ig)... i mean yeah Fontaine's archon situatipn is very peculiar but technically Neuvilette has taken over the role for now, right? Neither him nor Furina getting a second story quest makes me think Neuvi's probably gonna get his way later because it'll be HUGE. Again I wanna say that lore wise Neuvi is my fav character... HES JUST SO FNDNDBDN. And Furina is probably gonna get a pretty "random" one at one point kinda like Yoimiya did or Cyno... like its gonna be a good quest but it'a gonna be random. ANYWAY

I wonder how much different I would habe perceived the quest if I hadn't watched the Animated Short about Arlecchino that they put on Youtube... like it's her whole backstory? I could see where the quest was going right from the beginning because of it... that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, tho

Childe's little surprise cameo made me so happy c: MY BOY. He's alive snd well AND IN FONTAINE. Let me remind ypu we last officially saw him in the last Atchon quest gwtting yeeted into a black hole by Skirk. Then it was mentioned at the end that he was being treated and sent gome to Snezhnaya. Well...

The whole cryptic talk between Arle and Childe was quite interesting... so this project by the Fatui, right? (Forgot the name rn bc it's been a few days since I played the quest) Is it fonna be significant for Natlans story? What does it entail?? THE TEASE NNNNGNNGHH

I wonder if at some point in the game we're actually gonna see Lyney become the new head of House of the Hearth. Like... it's mentioned quite a lot in his story as well as in everything that has tp do with the House and Sröecchino herself... I wonder 🤔

Throughout the story I was reminded that one of the first things we heard about her (Childes voiceline that came out in like??? 3.0 or so???). It was that she would turn her back on and betray the Harbingers (AND THE TSARISTA) without second thought. She even says this herself in her voicelines. I just wonder what her ultimate goal is? To free herself from the curse? Which btw they tell us nothing about in the story. Story is all about the House and its inner workings and Arle's feelings about it and plans for the future (which I love btw but still not quite understand)... we also casually get told that Arle is not even that old??? Like the whole thing with Crucabena is so recent that Freminet remembers her???? Amd Arle was maybe a Teenager when she killed her so like??? She's only around 10 years older than the kids????

So how come she's a descendant from Khaenri'ah? I don't know if I read somewhere abput it or if its a rumor but not confirmed or if its said in her personal story which I haven't read yet but... she'a from the crimson moon dynasty? Or has some ties to it? And her curse is definitely related to it BUT WHAT IS HER CURSE EXACTLY. WHY DOES SHE HAVE IT. If she's only in maybe her late 20s she couldn't have been an actual Khaenriahn citizen (same as Kaeya and he still gives me the same headache thinking about this) so how does it all tie together in the end?? Does it have to do with the God of time maybe??? (Nevermind if this is talked about in her personal story in her profile I haven't read that yet)

So yeah... the fight woth her was so cool. The animation??? I saw people get upset about the fact that Traveler couldn't beat her but I actually love that?? Like... She'a #4 of the Harbingers and has some curse probably tied to Khaenriah and she KILLED A HARBINGER WHEN SHE WAS A TEENAGER??? Traveler nlt being this almighty MC makes them so much mlre likeable like yeah... they are obv far from having their actual power back? It took us ... how many times to fight Shuki No Kami before we could defeat it in the final try to learn all the patterns? The game wants to tell us that there's much more powerful enemies in Teyvat and rhis is only the beginning. Let me tell you yeah we beat Signora but it was Raiden who killed her... it was Zhongli who subdued Azhdaha. We only healed Apep with Nahidas help. Traveler has never been able to easily defeat these big enemies, they always had help. Yeah they have been getting stronger, they've been getting access to more elements but the bis enemies are just getting stronger and bigger too... I wonder where that will lead. Maybe the twins are only gonna get their true power bavk once they're united... ANYWAY

Her weekly boss fight is cool too. Using different mechanisms again, with the whole Bond of Life thing and all. She does this one attack in her second phase that I just... can't get behind tho. Someone always has to be the victim, THE SACRIFICE, to get me through haha. Idk how to dodge or avoid that attack. The one where she floats above the arena and then these bombs? Idk? Come down and basically crash down on the whole arena and I haven't found a spot where you can aboid getting hit and therefore killed immediately idk.

So yeah that's all for now. Very excited to play Cyno's second story quest. Heard only good things so far about it, which is good because I really didn't like his first one 💀 probably gonna get around to play it one of these days. Same as with the rest of Remuria exploration, gonna need mlre Clorinde funds :3
