Liveblog: Wakfu Season 2 (episode 17)

I find myself liking Eva a lot, during this rewatch, because I really am realizing that Eva&Joris is a very interesting and insane duo to consider.

If Ankama was wiser, they'd make them friends explicitly. Oh well.

Joris watching Adamai say this (Adamai is living through his worst nightmare of the person who loved him dying and coming back without memories, this time for real): 😬💀🚶‍♂️

This seems like some sort of waiting room for the meeting, judging from the fact that all the participants (as well as Grougal, but, to be fair, he's like a baby, it's logical that he'd be present with him until the very last possible moment, before being passed on to babysitters.)

I think it's interesting that Joris is sitting quite neutrally, looking exactly at Adamai and Armand, while Qilby is turned fully towards him.

...Studying him, perhaps?

Judging from the fact that Qilby was appealing to Sadida royalty by having studied their texts, and claiming to have met their god, he seems interested in learning more about people — maybe to manipulate, maybe simply curious.

Considering Qilby's connection with dragons and millions of years worth of memory, I could wager that he can feel/see that Joris is a bit weird.

(I know I am reading way too much into this, but let me have this lmaoo.)

This is why I find it quite fascinating that Qilby (interested in studying people around him, maybe seeking an advantage) is telling Joris (an old, dragonized Bontarian deligate) about a dragon that razed Bonta before Joris was born (Arty (Goultard's Dead Dragon Husband)).

Trying to gauge if Joris is secretly a dragon? If he knows that dragon? Trying to gauge his age? His opinions? Hmm???

This is one of the most short and uninformative Joris one-liners in the whole franchise. He's so epic for the way he dodges saying anything here.

Considering the fact that Joris is 1. pretty gullable, actually, 2. generally distrustful of people he doesn't know, especially royalty, 3. sounds pretty happy about this interaction here, I think Joris's opinion of Qilby is "this is a foreign leader, and the whole thing is going to cause a lot of issues. Eliatropes' happiness is worth it, though, and also he seems nice enough. But we are not friends."

Basically, I think Qilby has Joris on his side hook, line, and sinker. Lmaoo.

I love this so much. He's been dealing with politics for centuries, and he's so fucking angry that he allowed himself to slip up and say something antagonizing.

While I have issues with season 4, I do like that there was some moral ambiguity to the world leaders: with hindsight, I think we can say pretty easily that Brakmar's concerns are quite valid, even if false this time.

As I've said — Joris, like Yugo and Adamai, thinks pretty simply that everyone should always do good things, and that it's so so simple to be good — you just give people what they need! :) It's literally so so simple.

I was extremely disappointed in the merch. there were literally 3 (three) shirts to choose from. That was it. Plus you could buy a CD if u wanted. They also weren't taking card. Fuck that. I bought a double vodka cranberry instead.

don't want to spoil too much (but maybe that's a spoiler in and of itself) but reading it makes you wonder why ellis has to make the stylistic choices he does… it's just short stories, but it's obvious he put care into it

speaking of stylistic choices, he once again begins us in a talking stage (reminiscent of AP and glam), aka confusing dialogue that makes it hard to care

it picks up around the 4th story (in the islands) which also has tim!!! i love the depiction of the relationship he has with his father and how different he is here vs american psycho

it's Very Real to me tbh how tim would retract even further everytime his father handled his son's embarrassment poorly. also enjoyed the fish facts and the callback to the "chances are looking good" line

5 and 6 were eh to me

7 (discovering japan).. oh wow. here it stands out that the best short stories are probably going to be the ones with interesting relationship dynamics (as with 4). the tension between roger and bryan is craaaazy good. the long sleeves line … the "rearrange my dreams for me" … the way they're so intertwined together is good and i hope the movie did them justice

8 (letters from LA) was sad and honestly the most horrifying for me. this was one immediately interesting because the letters' recipient is sean! anyway, not much to say other than that it kept reminding me of this image except reversed

9 is okay. great dialogue and enjoyed the descriptions of the narrator meandering around

10 (the secrets of summer) is my favorite lmaoo. i checked the wikipedia summaries of the stories and for some reason they think the narrator is lying when he says he's a vampire? idk it confused me considering the implications from the 2nd story and also the freaky shit that he does in this story

really funny, really fucked up. he makes this shitty racist joke and laughs at himself everytime. idk what to say about the story itself (still digesting) but the ending..? ??? <- that's what i'm saying about it (i liked it but oh okay!)

11 (the fifth wheel) is strange even though it has Normal People (as opposed to 10), but that's what makes it stranger imo. probably has my favorite flow and diction choices. the narrator is just so done with all the bs and it's great

12 (on the beach) has the same mysterious vibes as 11, though i couldn't get into it as much. if i think about the description of the girlfriend it might scare me i think. very much the horror convention of only letting you see a peek of the scary thing and getting the imagination to run wild

13 (at the zoo with bruce) is the last story. yet another ??? one for me. i did like spending the day at the zoo with the characters (though it sucks the animals were mistreated) it had a quaint feeling i could relate to

gemma is the true antagonist called it bc she literally lets so much shit slide past her for the sake of keeping her family together and it kinda makes her seem like an magnet for destruction but when it’s actually bc she’s incredibly selfish and manipulative and honestly...good for her lmao even when everything is falling apart around her she somehow manages to keep everything together for the most part but not for the reasons people believe

Alright, so idk if any of you have actually been to NYC, so I played it safe on that end. But I have been (just once), and if you haven't ever heard of Ellen's Stardust Diner, I highly recommend you run (not walk) to Youtube or TikTok or something and search it up. Those folks are amazing, and I had to give the place a nod. Because come on, Aziraphale would LOVE to be served by singing waitstaff.

You had all gone downstairs for dinner that night (you were not dressed fancily enough, but no one noticed so you pretended you weren’t feeling inadequate the whole time). Aziraphale ate, Crowley watched, you watched them while you ate, Anathema just ate because she’s the only rational one in the group here, let’s be honest. The second you got back into the room apartment suite, you crashed and were dead to the world until morning.

And so, you wake up, yawning and needing coffee, but otherwise alright. You make your way out of your bedroom, and find Anathema sitting at the large dining room table surrounded by papers, tarot cards, rune stones, crystals, a pendulum, and books. She’s frantically writing on a piece of paper.

“Good morning!” You say as you approach her. She looks up from her work.

“Oh, good morning. How are you feeling?”

“I’m alright thanks. What time is it?”

“Um...about 12:30.”

“Gosh, I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. A lot happened yesterday and you needed to recoup,” she replies with a shrug. You are so grateful for her understanding, but decide to put the effort into not dwelling on it.

“How’s it been?” You ask, nodding at her papers. Anathema sighs.

“Well, I haven’t made any headway yet.”

“Anything I can do?”

The doorbell rings. There’s a doorbell?? Of course there is.

“Oh!” You hear Aziraphale call from one of the living rooms. “That will be the crepes! ENTAAH!” You snort a laugh through your nose. From here you can’t tell if there’s a feather boa, but you can practically hear a feather boa in his voice – you don’t need to see one. Anathema sighs.

“I need...I NEED for you to get one of them out of my hair for a bit. If one isn’t ordering room service, the other one is prank calling the front desk. There’s a mountain of toiletries in the living room, and the doorbell won’t stop ringing. It’s driving me crazy.”

As if on cue, you hear Aziraphale calling from the door: “Crowley! We have enough shampoo!”

Well, babysitting supernatural entities wasn’t exactly the way you thought this would be going, but who are you to argue with Anathema? You nod.

“Any preference which one?”

“No. Just...one of them.”

“Yeah, okay. Give me five minutes.”

“Thank you.” She puts her head in her hands for a moment while you go to get yourself ready.

You and Aziraphale walk down the sidewalk towards Times Square, sipping on frappucinos. Aziraphale had been skeptical about the drink until he saw the mountain of whipped cream and the caramel drizzled on top.

“Have you been here before?” He asks you casually. You shake your head.

“No, but I spend a lot of time on the internet. So I’ve heard things. You can learn a lot just by lurking.” You swirl your straw around the frozen coffee to mix in the last of the whipped cream. “Have you? I mean you and Crowley have been practically everywhere, right?”

“I’ve been once. But it was a very long time ago now. I came for the World’s Fair in 1939. Marvelous, really, the technology at the time. Not nearly as fascinating as how technology ended up evolving of course.”

“Technology isn’t your thing, though,” You say, raising an eyebrow.

“I prefer to admire it from a distance, but I can appreciate it all the same.”

You think about how he has a driver’s license, and the ancient computer in his bookshop. Besides, how would he make tea without a kettle. It makes sense.

“So,” Aziraphale begins, “What is this venture that you need me to accompany you for?”

“Oh I think you’ll like it,” You say with a smile. Aziraphale raises his eyebrows quizzically.

“Oh?” He asks, intrigued, as he takes another sip of his drink.

“Broadway,” You say. Aziraphale’s face lights up.

“Oh!”

“I figure,” You say, “What a shame it would be to spend time in New York City without seeing a show on Broadway. And I’m not sure I trust Crowley’s theatre manners.”

“I understand why you would have that opinion. He can be rather a handful,” Aziraphale says thoughtfully, as though he hadn’t been driving Anathema to insanity himself. “But I assure you, I’ve seen nothing less than exceptional behaviour from him when the two of us have gone together.”

“Well yeah, but that’s with you. There’s a difference,” You tilt your drink towards the angel to emphasize your point. He hums thoughtfully. “So,” You continue, “I figure you and I go see a couple shows. I think we have time for two of them so how about I pick one, then you pick one?”

“I think that sounds like a rather splendid day, in fact,” he says, finishing off his drink and disposing of it in the nearest recycling can.

“Great,” You say, “My pick first.” You dispose of your empty drink container as well, and pause to let the suspense build. “And I choose The Lion King.”

Aziraphale’s face scrunches up.

“Is it bebop?”

“It really was, wasn’t it?” You say with a sigh. In your hand you hold a bag full of merchandise from the show’s gift shop. Aziraphale bought an artbook. “Do you have a choice lined up?”

“I do indeed,” Aziraphale smiles and waves his hands in a rainbow-motion, “The Phantom of the Opera.” His face has so much joy in it.

Watching Aziraphale experience things is mesmerizing. The ways his face moves, the way his voice shifts around when he gets all excited, the way he gasps so audibly when the performance surprises him. It’s an incredible thing to behold, and you absolutely understand why Crowley spends so much time doing it.

“Well before we go see Phantom, I need some food.”

“Oh! Do you have any ideas where to go?” He leans towards you conspiratorially. “Any secrets you heard while Lurking?”

“Well,” You reply, playing into his game, “I have heard stories of a place called Ellen’s Stardust Diner, and I think you’ll like it.”

“And what makes you think that?” His eyes are sparkling with intrigue. Damn. You have to try and keep your knees from buckling, it’s so intense.

“Two words,” You say, “Singing. Waitstaff.” You hadn’t thought Aziraphale’s face could get brighter, but it does, and so you add the cherry on top, the trump card, the finishing blow: “And they take requests.”

Dinner was great, dessert was fabulous, Aziraphale was willing to put up with the bebop. Especially after you suggested he request a ballad, and they not only took it, but did a wonderful job of it. Phantom was long, but you both enjoyed yourselves.

When the both of you finally return to the hotel, it’s late. Anathema is still hard at work and you notice a definite...lack of Toiletry Mountain. Crowley is sat demurely at the kitchen table with a glass of whiskey.

“Are you okay?” You ask him carefully.

“I don’t wanna talk about it,” Crowley replies. You look at Aziraphale and shrug. The angel shrugs back before going to grab himself a drink, and you go see Anathema.

“Hey,” You say, “How’s it going?”

“Oh, much better!” She says, looking up at you brightly, “I managed to get things under control, and I got some very promising readings from the top of the Empire State Building.”

“I’m sorry, you went where? How??”

Anathema smirks and glances over at Crowley, then back at you.

“A witch has her ways.”

“And what happened to all the shampoo?”

“I made him give it back and apologize.”

“I...what….” You sputter. It takes all you have to sit down in a chair instead of just fall over. “How do you do this?” You ask, impressed.

“What do you mean?”

“In every fanfiction, in every alternate universe, how do you do this?” You gesture at the kitchen where you know Crowley is still quietly sat, listening to Aziraphale recount your day. Anathema smiles broadly and slides her glasses back up her nose.

“You can’t expect me to give away all my secrets, now.”

Arcane Characters and their musical history + music taste

is this in the canon universe or an au? idk. maybe a bit of both <3

this is my first hc post, so have mercy on me! i have no idea if i’m formatting this correctly. this feels like a thought dump. you can also tell that i was an orchestra kid middle-high school and that i’m extremely partial to jazz :P

Caitlyn

• definitely had the classic piano + violin upbringing combo

• teen Caitlyn going ham at the violin? yeah. she was definitely first chair and everything

• her musical history is partly why Caitlyn’s posture is impeccable

• but truth be told…. our favorite enforcer has an affinity to the bass guitar

• which is HOT. (especially to a certain pink-haired someone)

• can sight read complicated bass lines and practices up in her room a lot, the amp blasting

• isn’t picky with her music taste but is nostalgic for pieces she learned growing up and a bit of jazz

• if she’s feeling particularly pine-y over a certain pinkette she’d pull out the yearning indie pop i’d feel

• i want to say she went through the dodie in her primary years -> hozier in her secondary years-adulthood pipeline but maybe that’s me projecting a little LMAOO

Jinx

• learns music very easily, could play any instrument she wanted to tbh

• but is surprisingly kin to the piano and violin, and silco has her playing music in The Last Drop occasionally

• i love the idea of Jinx practicing piano, brows knitted in concentration, and Silco watching her from the door frame practice and master a piece like the dad he is (definitely brags to Sevika about Jinx’s musicality afterwards)

• Jinx memorizing children’s tunes to annoy Sevika (and maybe heal her inner child a little) and all of Silco’s favorites to make him proud (though he always is, regardless)

• is so. SO good at her bowing and picking (in relation to the violin). it might sound chaotic at times but Jinx’s pizzicato + staccato are always so clean

• in terms of general music taste, i see Jinx as a hyperpop girl but i‘m interested to see what other people think

• also indulges in very dramatic classical music- both listening AND playing, i know Jinx puts all of her emotion into the music she plays

• p!atd/fob/tøp phase HAD to have happened at some point

Ekko

• local percussionist icon… everyone knows that Ekko knows how to make a good beat

• he’d tinker around and create his own instruments- better with every invention

• it’s giving rubber band guitar kid but 10x better

• got into drumming as a teenager and spray painted some cool (and slightly angsty) patterns onto his drum set

• also can definitely dance… not as related but…

• can play the viola as well and he played duets with jinx/powder growing up on the streets

• always thought that jinx was so impressive with her playing skills n he definitely tried to impress her with his own music

• this boy could/can VIBRATO!!! and he definitely smiles when he’s really into the music he’s playing too- you can see the joy written across his face

• he doesn’t play viola much anymore as an adult, not unless some of the Zaun children convince him to perform and play for them

• Ekko totally bonded with Jinx and their love for hyperpop when they were younger

• i feel like he’d generally listen to a lot of hype workout music, hip hop, and punk rock/alt rock

Vi

• Vi never really had the chance to play any music, nor did she really have an interest in playing growing up

• but I’m thinking of her finding Vander’s old guitar in a storage room one day and being determined to play it

• she’s embarrassed to ask Vander for help and it definitely takes a bit of time but Vi eventually masters Blackbird (by the Beatles) with Vander teaching her

• Vi is amazed that her hands could create sounds so lovely, and falls in love with the guitar- although she never really gets to learn many songs before she’s sent to prison

• But with the help of Caitlyn, Vi is able to start practicing again (she only remembers Blackbird, thinks it’s a bit embarrassing) ((Caitlyn thinks it’s cute))

• onto music taste: this girl is mainly all workout music i’m sorry…. but there’s probably a bunch of alt pop like chase atlantic and the neighborhood. also- doja cat.

• can I say she still listens to the Beatles sometimes because it reminds her of Vander and her old family <3 (idk why my brain is INSISTENT on it being the Beatles but)

• thinks that boy bands are the funniest thing ever. secretly jams out to a couple of their many of their love songs due to a certain Kiramann. accidentally becomes a 1D stan because of it

Mel

• was drawn to the cello from the very first time she watched an orchestral performance

• definitely vented out her emotions through playing music as a teen

• understands music theory really well and can play any tempo you give her

• would bring a small spray bottle for her rock stop (this is SO niche i’m so sorry i’m a cello player)

• first cello. top of the orchestra hierarchy in class

• Mel rarely has time to play anymore, but she gets extremely nostalgic listening to the cello and still uses it as a form of escapism when extremely stres.

• her music taste is. the Jazz in the Background playlist on spotify

• secret lover of ariana grande, taylor swift, and katy perry

• jayce walks into Mel humming California Girls once and almost loses his shit before remembering she’d murder him if he laughed outright at her

Viktor

• always wished he could be in an orchestra but never did

• studied music theory !!!!! and adored a violin that Heimerdinger gifted him when he entered the academy

• I also feel like Viktor has piano hands and definitely knows his way around one

• composes most of the music he plays but also loves indulging himself in improv

• music is a very personal thing for Viktor so he rarely performs/shares his music with others

• Viktor can SING. but you’d never know and he’s never tell you.

• his passion for music is second only to his passion for science and innovation

• Viktor also seems like a jazz listener to me…. and mitski. and other Sad Gay™ music

• creature w/ orchestra by half•alive is the most viktor song on the planet. go listen to it rn

Jayce

• trumpet kid (god i don’t know anything about band or band kids but)

• if he was in orchestra, he’d be THAT violin (derogatory)

i actually would recommend the dub solely because there’s a lot of jokes (mostly from nagi and chigiri) that the sub doesn’t have so it adds a much more humorous vibe to it!! like there’s a specific scene which i don’t remember being in the sub version that i literally had to rewind where barou is yelling at nagi in the background and he’s like “don’t talk back 😡” and NAGI LITERALLY JUST MOCKS HIM LIKE “dOn’T TaLk bAcK 😒” FJKSJS I LOST IT…they definitely decided to follow the spirit of the interactions instead of going for word for word translations so it feels like everyone’s a lot sillier!! there’s actually a lot of isagi sass too which made me like him much more than i did 😭 if you do end up watching keep me posted abt your thoughts 🫡 i think imo best dub voices in terms of fitting their characters have to be niko, anri, and reo ☝🏻 i actually also really liked that they made chigiri sound more masculine because it made him feel like more than just “girl insert of bllk” which is how a lot of people in the fandom tend to see him (side note rewatching the show helped me remember i love chigiri i just don’t like chigiri fans HAHA)

Also that even though the citizens repeatedly treat Jafar like shit they are STILL his first priority throughout the entire show, even compared to the sultan

ok so! in case anyone cares about my rambley unorganized opinions on the season 5 premiere, i want to put them somewhere so here they are! i actually really liked it for the most part lol and had a fun time watching 

SO. pretty typical of QOTS to not let james & teresa have a meaningful moment alone until episode 2 but not gonna lie i’m still...........a lil salty about it. his talk with kellyanne was sweet tho and her last line of their lil talk....holy shit. like fuck!!! she’s right but..... fuck! i sense foreshadowing and i DO Not care for it

and i’m a bit pissed that so much time was wasted with king george being a dick and ready to shoot james for no discernible reason (i thought they were friends??? what the hell did james do to piss off KG so much? i thought they left on good terms? seems like he took james leaving harder than teresa... lol) when AS USUAL james totally saved the day right in the knick of time for literally....king george and teresa and pote.. like he saved literally EVERYONE’s life. and he was recovering from a gunshot wound and blood loss like????????? why is everyone wasting time distrusting him when they could be taking advantage of his life saving skills?? lol james in a classic King George bright yellow floral hawaiian shirt though!!!! amazing. beautiful. make james wear more color 2021!!

ALSO JAMES CONTINUING TO BE A PERFECT SHOT AND TAKING OUT LIKE 4 GUYS W NO WASTED BULLETS EVEN INJURED WHILE KING GEORGE AND CHICHO SHOT AT THE OTHER GUY LIKE TEN TIMES AND MISSED..... I LAUGHED SO HARD HOLY SHIT like between that scene and george accusing james of shooting himself in the stomach and knowing where to shoot in order to survive b/c he’s a sniper like....they really Really wanted to drive the point home that james is a Good Shot... 

but honestly all of that, on top of teresa kinda making more trouble for herself but ending up sort of accidentally~on purpose doing the smart thing anyways, felt Very OG queen of the south so that was actually really fun. plus we all knew james was gonna redeem himself and save the day anyways. i just lowkey wanted KG to get in trouble w/ teresa for taking a recovering james behind her back to a dangerous location without a gun - right after she got him back!! and before they even talked alone.... but that’s wishful thinking haha (someone gonna write that fic??) 

ALSO that scene with boaz and the judge?? OOF honestly i loved that scene even tho i HATE the judge and honestly i have no idea what to think of boaz after all these years lol, but their acting was so good and it’s just such an intense scene, idk they fuckin killed it!! no pun intended lmaoo

anyways i’m excited for episode 2 and it has definitely renewed a lot of my love for the show and i’m intrigued to see where they’re going with this season! and excited for james and teresa to talk alone!! without everyone around them accusing james of hurting her! or doing anything other than loving and protecting her!! hahaha 

i will say tho. i am a liiiiiiiittle peeved that all the writers came up with for the james/ devon plot was just. devon just let him go? and gave him information that would save teresa??? after constantly threatening to shut down her business, take over her business, kill her, etc.etc.whatever??????? like. i am kinda glad they just wrapped it up and didn’t linger on it but i really thought james would have like. overheard something about the kill order and made another deal w/ devon or fought his way out or just literally anything other than. they just gave him the information and let him go. like am i the only one who thinks that’s kind of lame??? but it’s okay b/c now we can just. move on from that whole mess hopefully.

Look I'm not one of those people who believe Kishimoto decided to have Hinata and Naruto end up in the middle part of Shippuden. I believe he decided in the very last arc but he wanted to sound smart so he said he decided earlier on. Otherwise, they obviously would have more scene together. In Shippuden, they have only three scenes together ; when Naruto came back, the pain attack and the neji death scene. That's it. In the original Naruto, they probably have less than ten canon scenes not including fillers.

So I'm sorry I'm one of those who wasn't convinced by The Last. They literally had a basic villain go after Hinata who was cringe btw (the villain). They gave Hinata op powers which she doesn't have in the novel 👀. Despite having op powers, they made her the damsel in distress. Very "The hero saves the princess" cliche. Again, to justify them being together. I mean Naruto can't differentiate his love for ramen and romantic love so how??? He was just being nice to Hinata just like he does to everyone. He stood up for her just like he does for everyone.

Don't get me started on the Sakura Sasuke relationship 🤣. Cringe. They never knew each other. The whole Sakura's love for Sasuke saved him doesn't make sense. They spent barely a year in their genin year before sasuke left. Sasuke tried to kill Naruto and Sakura multiple times. Then at the end of the war, Kishimoto tried to do the "oh they have such a deep understanding between each other" which comes off as cringey. He gets her pregnant then leaves for years. She's literally a single mom who's broke.

Every relationship in Naruto is so cringey and forced except shikatemari. Kishimoto should've focused on the main story and fixed his potholes and leave the ending open.

Naruto would not have been perfect but at least it would've been remembered for staying true to its vision but instead it's remembered for cringey relationships, dumbass villain (except pain and madara) and a story that lost its core which is a shame coz I used to love Naruto. I was inspired by its messages but now....

I mean, Naruto in general is a mess, not just the ships if we're being realistic. Alot of plotholes, rushed endings, this and that, the w a r a r c, Kaguya, the way they rushed Boruto ehhh. Honestly, getting into Naruto is literally my biggest regret of 2020 :"DD

Im an NH shipper as you can tell by my hotmess of a blog but i fully respect your opinion and understand your point of view. I also know a bunch of nh stans who have their complaints with their development. I wish Kishi gave more attention to his female cast really, thats all I fucking ask. If he did that one single basic thing, then maybe the endgame relationships wouldnt have been an asspull and theyd be given propper screentime with their love interest, both Sakura and Hinata. The Last tbh i think the writers played it safe and stuck to the whole Naruto shounen vibe thingy, so im not surprised it was plotted that way. Typical cliché shounen movie.

But does that bother me? No! The Last was a mess, their development was shit, they definitely needed more screentime but hey at the end of the day theyre cute as fuck, we have that kiss scene, flirting scenes, a shit ton of official art, three kids, Seiki's gif :33 and a whole ass arc for their wedding all that for just a shounen anime so eh. Compensates for it i guess xD theyre not toxic, unhealthy or whatnot. Theyre wholesome, soft and vanilla as fuck and exactly what i need in my hectic life rn. No drama, just two kind souls who are adorable as heck and theyre dynamic means so much to me and I will love them until i shall leave this earth.

Sasuke and Sakura on the other hand eeeehhhh i can see why people like them. Sasuke's hot, he's your typical hot bad boy aad Sakura's hot and pretty too. Basic blue and pink trope. Aside from their canon interactions, fans have all the opportunity to play around with their dynamic but for me, its just sooo basic and so hetero and can easily appeal to any 16 yr old teenage girl, no wonder it has an active fanbase on twt and---- AM I MAKING ANY SENSE? I honestly don't remember how or why I came up with the idea that Jungkook has a pain kink. He just- does? And I make it work lmaoo I think it was something that just happened when I first wrote the prologue, back when it was "an excerpt from a fic I'll never write" and I decided to just keep it up

JIMIN AND TAEHYUNG they are my fave dynamic to write together actually, specifically because jimin always tells the truth and taehyung always lies so them playing off of each other like that especially when gang business is involved is just *chef's kiss* to me

And yeah, maybe jimin wanting to bang namjoon's girl was kinda a low blow (reyna, my beta reader, will not let me live this down, she fucking hates this chapter so much because of how jimin acts, but it was necessary for future plot things), but the way taehyung literally swopped in and (unknowingly) saved his life is still so fucking funny to me. Jimin's chapter is still my favorite one that I've written, I love it so fucking much

LISTEN ALMOST ALL PRESENT DAY SCENES WITH NAMJOON AND MC ARE SAD AND FILLED WITH PAIN I AM WARNING YOU AND ANYONE WHO IS READING THIS NOW these two do not get a fucking break until right before the end- it is just pain

JK broke my heart in both "the apartment" and "the job" like- he just wants them to be together again and be happy and the way he starts to figure out what happened before Namjoon does- I genuinely teared up writing that dialogue for him because he IS bby and in some ways yeah he is still too innocent for this line of work, despite his role in the gang

SO ACTUALLY the next part "the night, end" isn't the end of the flashback, the following part "the decade" also takes place in the past, we don't get back to the present day until "the aftermath" ((there are tiny spoilers on the masterlist, for those who look at the masterlist, of what each chapter will be about))

On a more serious note, will mc ever open up about what happened to her? Yes, but not in a "let me sit down and detail to you everything that's happened to me" sort of way. It comes out slowly, and only when she's kinda prodded about specific things. She will not answer direct "what happened to you" questions, those questions bring up too much and she ends up shutting down in order to avoid the trauma from what she experienced- and the boys, to their credit, will figure this out pretty quickly. So instead they start framing their questions to be more specific, things like "why do you only sleep on couches" and "how come you hate closed doors". These are the questions that get answers out of her, because they're fast 'easy' answers that she doesn't have to dwell too much on before moving on to the next conversation topic.

And once they have enough answers to start piecing the puzzle together- oh my god they're all so devastated- hyung line absolutely hate themselves and no one more than Namjoon- and it takes a very well-timed verbal smack from Jin before the leader starts pulling himself together again to actually be there for her and start to fix what's been broken

AND JIMIN- omg jimin gets this beautiful redemption chapter that doesn't make his actions in "the bar" any better or okay by any means, but once he knows what's happened and he realizes he was in the wrong the entire time- bitchy hoe jimin turns into sweetheart hoe jimin and he becomes like- one of her favorite people- but this chapter doesn't happen for like fucking ever so I have to wait just as long as the rest of you do for it

((honestly idk how the 8 million won deal is gonna go either)) I've got a lot of ideas for it, like- does she try to give the money back? Does she decide to keep it? Does she make a plan where she keeps working for Song but leaks what info she finds out to Bangtan so they can work on taking him down? Idk but the possibilities are (almost) endless
