Mamma Mia is likely inspired by a film named Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell, which is set in Italy, and the location was changed to Greece to make the two seem more disconnected (despite the title Mamma Mia still being traditionally Italian)

i mean that makes sense on why it isn’t set in italy and there’s this nymag article that says the same thing but they never actually argue *for* greece, only against italy. so i guess im still curious why they chose greece specifically over any other particular country? like idk i feel like it must be relevant to the story for some reason that isn’t just “greece is pretty so it would look good if we ever eventually made a movie of this random abba jukebox musical in a decade”

like, idk it has to be purposeful. is it symbolic? ofc my mind goes straight to mythology but like — is it an inversion of the helen/paris myth and the dads are supposed to represent the three goddesses or something? but that doesn’t make any sense. are the three dads meant to be stand ins for zeus/poseidon/hades? the fates? there’s tons of threes in greek mythology but i cant think of anything that connects to the story of mamma mia specifically. or it could be symbolic in some way that doesn’t connect to ancient greece at all, but i don’t know why that would be either.

so then, is it somehow crucial to the plot? is it set in greece because they could then conceivably construct a scenario in which donna lives on a remote island and hasn’t seen these men in 20 years? is it so that donna can run a hotel so she can be broke so that she can have a reason to sing the abba hit “money money money”? (that seems pretty specific, and like, there are hotels in lots of places)

so then is it somehow connected to the writers? did abba have a special connection with greece? did the person who wrote the story live in greece for a period or something? (doesn’t seem like it from my cursory googling) is it because it’s one of the few european countries that *couldn’t* be connected to an existing abba song? (again, mamma mia = italian, waterloo/our last summer = france, chiquitita = spain, abba the band = sweden, there are so many other countries they could have picked that seem more relevant to the lyrics so maybe they were intentionally trying *not* to do that?)

idk i am just still stuck on why it’s in greece specifically ljke there just has to be a reason they chose it!! but i don’t know why lol

Open for movie speculation? :) The new key visual was released today and if you don't want miniscule spoilers then I'll gladly spend the time asking how you're doing in these times and how you light up my saturday with your posts that never cease to make me laugh haha. I do hope you're doing well :) So here's the wee spoiler (or should I call it a spoiler?) the antagonist(?) is called "Flect Turn", hope you have a nice week :)

so as usual, I'm late in responding to this, but I just wanted to clarify that my "no spoilers, please" policy pretty much only applies to the new BnHA manga chapters, and that's specifically because of the weekly reaction posts. I know part of the appeal of a liveblog is watching someone else's reactions to all of the surprises and twists and wtf moments, and so I try to preserve those each week. if I wasn't liveblogging the series I would probably be reading the leaks along with everybody else to tell the truth lol.

so that said, feel free to send me spoilers about the upcoming movie! out of respect for those who do want to avoid being spoiled, I'll tag those posts (and this one) with "bnha world heroes' mission spoilers" and "bnha movie 3 spoilers" so people can blacklist those tags if desired. but I personally have no objection to them; back when Heroes Rising came out I already knew all of the plot points and had read detailed spoiler summaries well before I finally got the chance to watch it myself. it definitely did not take away from the experience at all, and in fact I'm kind of glad I knew about the end twist ahead of time because I was able to devote more mental energy to analyzing and appreciating it rather than still being all "!!!!" from the shock lol.

so yeah, I've been trying to stay up to date with the news about WHM as well. here's everything I think we know so far:

the movie will take place during the Endeavor Agency internship, as expected.

the bad guys are a terrorist organization called "Humanize", who believe in the Quirk Singularity Doomsday Theory we first learned about during the Remedial arc. as a refresher, basically the idea is that as quirks continue to evolve with each new generation, they'll eventually grow too powerful for humans to control and will destroy the world or something lol.

anyway so Humanize hears about this, and they're either like, "man that sucks, we should just kill everyone with a quirk so it doesn't happen", OR they're like "man that sounds awesome, we should totally expedite that." like, I'm really not clear on this part lol. but either way, they apparently come up with a plan to cleanse the world of quirk users by planting magical plot bombs called Ideo Trigger Bombs, which make people lose control of their quirks.

as mentioned, the bad guys' leader is named Flect Turn for god knows what reason lmao. I'm guessing it's some kind of weird play on the word "reflect" (especially given his character design), and based on that, as well as the Ideo Triggers, I suspect this guy has the ability to somehow turn people's own quirks against them. you can see him at the bottom of the key visual anon mentioned, here.

anyway so the heroes are all "hmm, pretty sure the end of world = bad" and so they all decide to band together under this "W.H.A." umbrella (which I'm still assuming stands for either World Hero Agency or World Hero Association or something like that) to deal with the bombs.

as shown on the key visual, in addition to the Endeavor Agency trio, the movie will also feature the kids from Ryuukyuu, Fat Gum, Gang Orca (who has Jirou and Shouji interning under him for anyone who lost track), and Hawks's agencies.

the movie will also feature a new character named Rody Soul, who's this weird steampunk Dickensian urchin-looking guy with a ponytail lol. he apparently teams up with the trio following one of the bomb incidents.

most of the movie will apparently take place in a fictional country called Oceon (this is why nobody could quite place where that bridge in the trailer was from lol).

at some point Deku gets framed for murder idk. just Deku things.

and last but not least, as usual there will be a special manga tie-in release, in this case titled "Volume W(orld Heroes)". looks like the initial release will be exclusive to theater-goers in Japan, but I'm sure someone will get their hands on it and post it online, and Viz will eventually release it in English as well (they did the same with the previous two tie-ins). it'll include behind-the-scenes sketches, a new Horikoshi interview (probably the part I'm most looking forward to), and of course, the new movie tie-in chapter. as with the previous tie-ins (Volume Origin and Volume Rising), this will be written and drawn by Horikoshi himself. I'm hoping that it will feature the trio, but the other movie tie-ins featured All Might and Nine, respectively, so it's probably more realistic to assume this one will focus on Rody. ah well.

I think that's it. I haven't really done much speculating about the plot either tbh, though what we've learned seems pretty straightforward. Deku probably either gets framed for one of the bombs, or gets caught up in one of the blasts and loses control of OFA. or maybe they'll save that part for his fight with Flect at the end. god, if we get a scene where he goes on a Blackwhip rampage with a big screen budget I will lose my whole damn mind. especially if Kacchan and Shouto have to work together to stop him. can you imagine omg. but I should really rein myself in before I start getting way too hyped up over a bunch of wild hypotheticals. this is why I try not to speculate lol.

Jungkook hummed quietly while keeping an eye on the chicken cooking on the stove. The subtle fragrance of the spices wafted through the kitchen and made its way into the living room where you were sitting - knees pulled into yourself as you scrolled through your phone mindlessly. Normally, the sight of someone - especially Jungkook - cooking for you would be the best part of your day. But this time it was different. It hadn’t even been 24 hours since your fight with Jungkook, yet here he was, coming over like he did every time he found the special spicy chili paste at the market, and cooking that one particular chicken dish you adored but hated having to make. The soft melody he had been humming for the past few minutes was starting to annoy you. Really, it was only because you felt guilty and didn’t want to admit that you had been a particularly horrid person the day before. 

It had all been fine and dandy - you, Jimin, Jungkook, and Hoseok were watching a movie at the latter’s apartment, something that had happened after a long time because the four of you never seemed to be able to coordinate your schedules. It was while watching the movie that something strange happened to you. Jimin had been feeling slightly under the weather and Jungkook immediately volunteered to make some hot stew for him. Dropping everything, including the movie you all had been watching, he ran to the nearest grocery store, bought the ingredients for the stew, and proceeded to cook at half past 11 at night. While Hoseok joked about Jungkook’s eagerness to help everyone, a flicker of annoyance passed through you, building in intensity as the stew was brought out and Jimin sipped it gratefully. 

There was no real reason for your annoyance. Which made you all the more annoyed. Picking up your phone and wallet, you headed for the door.

“I’m heading home.” Your tone was stiff and the others looked at you in surprise.

“You don’t want to watch the rest of the movie?” Jungkook asked. 

“I don’t think anyone was really watching it anymore.” The words sounded awfully odd even to your ears.

“Come on,” Jungkook continued, giving you a sheepish grin. “I promise there won’t be any more distractions.”

“No. I’m going home. You guys can continue watching it if you want.”

“Y/n, come on, I’m sorry. Let’s watch the rest of the movie together.” 

“I’m going home. You guys can watch the movie together.”

Hoseok and Jimin looked around awkwardly, not sure of how to react. To be honest, neither did you. After a few moments of silence, Jungkook sighed and walked towards you.

“Okay, let me drive you home. You didn’t bring your car today.”

“No.”

Jungkook’s head shot up as his gaze caught yours. “No?”

“I can get back on my own.”

“I know you can. But I drove you here-” Jungkook ran a hand through his hair frustratedly - “It’s quite late, let me drive you back.”

“No.”

“Stop this, Y/n…”

“I’m not doing anything.” Your voice had risen considerably since announcing your departure. 

“Why’re you being so stubborn?!”

“I’m not! You’re the one who’s being stubborn!”

“What the hell happened anyway? Why are you so pissed off all of a sudden?! Because I wasn’t completely focused while watching the movie? What sort of childishness is this??” The exasperation in Jungkook’s voice was very apparent.

“Nothing happened.” Your tone was clipped once again. “I’m going home.” 

That was the last thing you had said to him before slamming shut the door to Hoseok’s apartment. After getting home, you muted every possible chat that Jungkook was part of - every part of you wanting to shut yourself off from him. But not a single part understanding why.

The clink of dishes brought you back to the present - Jungkook walked out of the kitchen with a couple of plates and placed one of them in front of you. The food was delicious as always, but nothing seemed to be going down your throat. A lump had settled there ever since you had returned from Hoseok’s place last night.

Even now, Jungkook said nothing, quietly eating the food and reading something on his phone. 

“Gguk?” He looked up from his phone, his doe eyes slightly unfocused.

“Hmm?” It was a soft sound, something you had heard countless times over the year and a half you had known him. There was never any aggression in his words, or his actions, or his intentions. He didn’t hold grudges. Nor did he stay angry purposefully, just to get back at you. You felt like an intruder in Jungkook’s world of soft emotions and beautiful thoughts - a complication amidst every ounce of sincerity that made up his being.

“Sorry about yesterday.” Your voice was low as you struggled to keep your emotions in check.

“It’s fine.” He gave you a small smile.

The lump was still present, your throat feeling choked as you gulped down some water. 

“Are you okay?” Concern laced his tone as he noticed the way your lips were quivering. “Are you feeling sick?”

He was beside you within seconds, rubbing your back soothingly and pouring you some more water.

“Why do you say that it’s okay?” You turned away from him, not knowing if you would have the courage to speak if you saw him staring at you with those horribly expressive doe eyes. “I behaved so horribly yesterday. Why didn’t you get angry? Why did you come and cook dinner?”

“I was angry. And frustrated.” He was now sitting next to you on the couch. “You didn’t even answer my messages. I was worried something might have happened to you. So I went to the market and looked for the spicy chili paste. At least then I’d have an excuse to come and see if you were okay.”

There was no way you could look at him now. Not without bursting into tears. 

“Are you okay? I’m sorry I came over like this. I was just so worried… I know you’re upset and I’m not really sure why. I’ll leave. But… let me know if you need anything.”

The way he said those words, as if he had done something wrong. That was what broke you. 

“Stop it.” Your voice was barely above a whisper. “Please... Please stop apologizing. Please get mad at me. Please tell me I’m horribly stubborn. Please ignore me when I’m being an asshole. Please make me stew when I’m feeling down. Please call me at odd hours. Please come over for no reason. Please notice me when I ignore your messages. Please get annoyed I do stupid things to get your attention. Please, Gguk, please… love me.”

Strong, warm arms wrapped around you as a single tear slid down your cheek. You closed your eyes shut as he guided your head onto his chest. You breathed in his scent - that soft, subtle smell of coffee mixed with his favorite fabric softener. It was so familiar and so comforting. One of his arms was still wrapped around you as the other pulled you closer towards him. You were basically sitting in his lap at this point, but the soft weight of his chin on top of your head prevented you from really focusing on anything. 

The two of you stayed like this for a while, just breathing deeply and embracing the moment. The gentle movement of his fingers in your hair was starting to make you feel sleepy and you looked up at him for the first time since apologizing for your behavior. His eyes held the same warm sincerity they always did, but there was something else there as well. 

“Feeling better?” The back of his fingers stroked your cheek softly, making you shiver slightly.

You didn’t answer. Regret had started bubbling inside you. You broke his gaze, focusing on the fabric of his t-shirt.

“Y/n? Please look at me.”

As soon as you looked up again, he brought his forehead closer and rested it against yours. Your noses were almost touching, and you closed your eyes because it was difficult to focus on him when he was so close. 

“I’m not good with words.” Every word felt like a soft kiss as his breath fell on your cheek and lips. “I never have been. But I hope you understand that a whole universe wouldn’t be enough to express how I feel about you.”

He rubbed his nose against yours and you struggled to stop yourself from leaning forward and brushing your lips with his. His free hand was now running soothing patterns along your back, and you clung to him in the hope that the proximity would somehow reduce unsettling need within you. 

“Y/n…” He was so close that the mention of your name made his lips brush against your own. “Can I kiss you?” His voice was so hoarse. You barely managed a nod before the feeling of his slightly chapped lips on yours took over. Soft at first, and slightly awkward, but soon it was as easy as breathing and as wonderful as the first rain after a long, dry summer. 

You relaxed into him as he kissed you in every way possible. The two of you slowly found a steady rhythm, relishing in the closeness of your bodies and the intimacies of your emotions. 

The lump in your throat was now gone. As was the last ounce of indecision keeping you away from the man you had fallen hopelessly in love with.

DANCE LITTLE LIAR

Over your life you had many examples that love wasn’t the easiest thing in the world. People cheat, people lie, and they eventually grow apart. Your first example was when you and your mother caught your father in bed with another woman after a day out shopping together. You were only five, your sister was eleven, and you watched your whole family fall apart in front of your eyes. The second example came when you were twelve, and your sister was eighteen. She had an awesome boyfriend, the kind of one that everybody loved and that was really nice, but no one really knew that he lied about many things in his life, and ended up trading your sister for another girl before he went to college.

So you never really believed love would happen to you, because it never truly worked for anyone in your family. Why would it work for you? And for a long time you believed that, and you grew up knowing you’d never have a boyfriend that loved you and that you’d be together forever. But you met Tom in High School when your mom decided to register you into a new school so you could pursue your life long dream to be an actress and act in plays. The BRIT School had many talented and nice people, but he was the nicest one in your class.

Tom was the sweet boy that everyone loved to be around. He was cute and funny, and always made people smile somehow. You quickly became friends, because you had so much in common, and one of those things were that you were both playing in a local theater. That made you closer than ever, because you’d see each other a lot. That made both of you develop feelings for each other, but it took many years until they finally got together. He knew it was a big deal for you, and probably that’s why he took his time to finally kiss you for once.

“I wanted to do something.” He said that one day he got you out to have some ice cream and just hang out.

“What is it?” You asked, with a grin on your face. He smiled brightly to you and leaned in, giving you a small peck on your lips. You cupped his cheek and pulled him closer, deepening the kiss for once.

“I wanted to do that for so long.” He said between kisses.

“I’m glad you did Tom.” You smiled to him and caressed his face, completely lost in his eyes.

“I wanna give you something.” He looked down to his hand, where he was holding a black velvet box. “I know it’s early to give you something like this, but this means a lot to me. You mean a lot to me, and I just wanted you to have a piece of me so you’d know I’ll be forever by your side.”

He opened the box, revealing a beautiful ring with a small butterfly set with little diamonds. It was simple, small, but so beautiful. It made you tear up and kiss him so intensely. The ring was the most beautiful thing you’d ever gotten and you didn’t even know how to accept it.

“I loved it so much, it’s beautiful.” He put it on your right hand, and kissed it right after.

“It’s a promise ring, and it means that as long as you wear this, I’ll be yours.” You caressed his face and kissed him again.

“Thank you, you’re amazing.”

You’ve been together ever since that day. You were so young, and even though you thought you’d never find love in your life, Tom made you feel like maybe with you it would be different. You both got what you always wanted, respect roles, him in movies, you in theaters, and life wouldn’t be better for the both of you. Now you were both living in New York for a while. He was doing a big movie and you finally got to Broadway, where you always wanted to be. You couldn’t be happier, until everything started to fall apart.

Tom usually picked you up in work after you were done with the play. Normally, he’s never late for anything, but for some reason he was always late to get you in work. You first started to notice something was wrong when he got there late wearing his shirt inside out. He was acting weird, but you let it go, not shifting the way you  acted with him because you refused to believe something was wrong.

“Maybe he just had a bad day, that’s all.” Jessica said to you the next day when you were both getting ready for the play. She was working with you on the play, and you were best friends on and off screen. “And the shirt… Well, maybe he just didn’t see it was inside out when he got it back on after the shooting day.”

“Yeah, maybe your right.” You finished you makeup with mascara and looked back to her, that was applying her character’s signature color, deep red. “It’s just… I have some issues with this kind of stuff. My parents are separated and my dad cheated, so it was slightly traumatic.”

“I know babe, but I know that Tom loves you with his whole heart. So you shouldn’t have any doubts about him, because you two are end game.”

But that night you got stood up for one and a half hour, and even had to get your own dinner on a hotdog food truck, and ate it on the cold sidewalk, waiting for him. You were almost giving up and getting yourself a taxi when he pulled over with his car and honked to get your attention.

“I’m so sorry baby. It took too long for everyone to finish the scenes today, and New York’s traffic is horrible.”

Liar. You weren’t stupid, and you could smell a sweet perfume all over his car, and it definitely wasn’t yours, because you hated sweet perfume and it made you want to throw up. His hair was messy, and it wasn’t a common thing, because he always got out of the studio with a great hair because of all the makeup they did to him.

“Uhm, it’s okay. Just go home, I’m tired.”

“Don’t you even want to stop somewhere and have dinner? We could go to that mexican restaurant you love so much.”

“I’m not actually in the mood, busy day. And I ate a hotdog from a food truck. I just want to sleep.”

“Okay, we can cuddle and watch a movie, what do you think?” He smiled to you and even though you were upset, he knew how to make you fall in love with him again.

“That would be nice.”

You decided not to say anything about you knowing, just to see where it would drive you. Maybe he’d eventually stop, and maybe it was only a one time thing and he’d just be over with it soon. But it happened at least three nights every week, and it was starting to piss you off. It was starting to be noticed during sex as well, when he would get so into it like before. It had been weeks since you last had a proper orgasm, and you’d do most of the work everytime. Of course you didn’t want to talk about it, so you’d just get it all over and go to sleep.

But you had great nights together. One day you even went out do dance, and some other one you stayed home and ordered food, drank some wine and sang to a lot of songs together, facetiming people from back home together. You’d still have a lot of fun, but somehow you couldn’t shake it off your head. His lips didn’t taste the same, and you weren’t in sync as before. And even though that night was a lot of fun, during a moment he was in the bathroom and you were talking to his brother Harry on his phone, he got a text and you could clearly see it wasn’t meant for you to see.

Lily: “I can’t wait to see you baby!“

Lucky for you, you were a great actress and you managed to not let him know that you saw it, pretending to be totally clueless, until it eventually it started to piss you off. It was the third time that week he was late to pick you up and you ended up getting drunk with Jessica after your play and letting everything go to her. Her best friend listened to her tell about everything she found out, and got mad at her because she was pretending to not know anything.

“You should tell him you know!”

“I can’t tell him Jess. First of all, I shouldn’t be getting into his stuff.”

“Yes, you should.” She got up and pointed to you with her glass in hands. “Specially when it directly affects your relationship. He’s cheating, and getting away with it!”

“I know! But I don’t know how to do it! If I act like a crazy bitch it won’t be right, but I can’t keep being cool about it.” You leaned back into your seat and finished the last glass of wine.

“You better think about it quickly babes.” Your phone started to ring, and Tom’s name appeared on the screen.

“He’s here. I gotta go.”  You kissed her cheek and gathered all your things.

“Finish him (Y/N)!” She shouted, watching you leaving quickly.

But you didn’t have the courage to do it. He arrived there feeling a little sick, and it made your heart crumble. You wanted to take care of him, and that’s what you did when you got home. He stood you up and there you were making soup to make him feel better. God, you were stupid!

One day it was your four year anniversary and you decided to do a little something for you two since you didn’t have to work that night. Your prepared a nice dinner, and organized the whole apartment with aromatic candles, flowers and good wine. You even dressed up nicely with a pretty lingerie for him. Maybe that night would be the turning point to your relationship and it would be okay for once. But eventually it got late, and you were almost giving up on waiting for him, starving and bored, and obviously upset. It was your anniversary, and he was with the other girl. You fought your urge to cry because you were better than that, and waited for him. You ate the food alone, and poured yourself some wine to watch some comedy movie on TV while waiting for him. Every time half an hour passed, you rolled your eyes and your blood boiled in anger, but you needed to be strong.

He arrived when it was almost 11 PM and you was already considering going to bed, leaving everything you planned behind. He found you lying on the couch with a blanket over you. The candles were already out, and the food was cold in the oven, and your heart was shattered, but it had been for a long time. He removed his shoes and lied over her, giving her a lot of kisses on her cheek and on the top of her head. The smell was there, it wasn’t his cologne, it was the sweet perfume again. The smell made you sick, and it wasn’t because it was too sweet.

“Hey darling, I’m sorry I’m late.” You gave him a forced smiled and nodded, turning your attention back to the movie. He cuddled into you, giving some more kisses on your face and neck. “What’s up with all the candles?” He looked around while sitting straight and you shrugged, fixing your position.

“They just smell nice. And are cheap.”

“Uhm.” He nodded and walked to the kitchen to find something to eat. “Baby, you made lasagna?”

“Yeah, I felt like eating it today.”

“You know that’s my favourite.” He smiled to her and turned the heat on to make it warm again. 

“I know.” She was keeping it short and low, making it clear that she wasn’t okay.

“Okay, what’s wrong with you?” He asked, making his way back to the living room.

“Do you know what day it is?” You asked and he thought a little about it.

“April 18th.” He said and you arched your eyebrows. “Why?”

“Nothing special to relate with this date?” You asked, pouring some more wine in your glass.

“Our anniversary.” He said and you nodded, finishing the wine quickly. “I’m so sorry, I forgot.”

“I’m sure you have a good excuse to why you’re late.”

“It’s just…”

“Traffic was horrible, it took too long to finish the shooting today.” You cut him, not raising your voice not even for a second. He sighed and sat down. “You don’t have to pretend anymore.”

“How long have you known?” He asked and you sighed, feeling your heart crashing slowly.

“Two months, at least.” He nodded and pressed his lips together. Tom couldn’t even look at you in the eyes. “I bet Lily is pretty.”

“She’s not prettier than you.” He said and you laughed sarcastically.

“You’re funny, you know. That’s just something straight out of a comedy movie.” You were pissed of course. “I don’t know why did you do it, and I don’t know why I held it for so long, but I can’t take it anymore.”

“Baby, I’m sorry…”

“You say you’re sorry too much Tom. But it’s okay, love never works anyway, and I’ve known it since I was little. It was eventually going to happen to us too.”

“I don’t know why I did it (Y/N), I’m so sorry.”

“It’s because you never really loved me Tom.” You got up and gathered some of your things such as phone and purse.

“That’s not true. I’ve never loved someone so much before. I really truly love you baby, and I’m deeply sorry for everything I made you go through. I’ll never see her again, and I promised I’ll do anything to make us okay again.”

Hiii! I was wondering if you read fanfic?? And if so, what are your fav tropes/works??

Hi!!!! I read A LOT of fic from A LOT of fandoms! My fav tropes are either flat comedy or enemies to friends to lovers or friends to lovers or something like that! I only read happy endings, but I don’t mind some angst in the middle. Idk what fandom you’re looking for so I’m gonna give you a list of some of my all time favs from EVERY fandom, and I’ll add one that I’ve written!

Walk That Mile by purpledaisy- 150k words 1D enemies to friends to lovers road trip AU across the US for a fun, banter-y time with some real communication issues that really get resolved well. People always say that a rom com should have a good answer for “why can’t they be together NOW?” And this one does it really well! No real angst, and a lot of fun. 

Have Love, Will Travel by @kingsofeverything - 97k words 1D YouTubers on a roadtrip AU! If you liked the first one on this list, you’re gonna love this one too! Sweet and long and full of the memories you would make on a road trip. Lots of laughs with this one, and I wish I could see the “Have Road, Will Travel” video series irl! 

Tell Me Now, Tell Me Now by @vanillabeanniall - 55k words 1D Miraculous Ladybug AU but you don’t need to watch the show to ADORE it - I know that I sure do!! Funny and sweet and SUPER ironic, with superheroes and Paris mixed in and great characters! Who wouldn’t love it?

So Let’s Cross the Lines We’ve Lost by thecoloursneverfade - 165k words 1D friends to enemies to friends to lovers uni AU that was one of the first that I read in the fandom and really made me fall in love! Good friends, some angst, hard convos that lead to real growth, and lots of really great characters. This feels real, for a lack of a better word, and is always compelling. 

Ain’t That A Kick in the Head by keysmashlesbian, wreckingtomlinson (karasunonolibero) - 23k words 1D comedy AU ft. football player!Louis, Disaster gay!Harry, memes, frogs, head dives, Blue Coolattas (whatever those are), and a very sassy Red Robin waitress named Fiona. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve read it, and I always laugh, and I always find something new to fall in love with. 

Leave it To the Breeze by @hattalove - 82k words 1D GBBO AU. This one feels like a warm hug. It’s gentle, fun, has great characters, believable angst, has you rooting for more than one of the characters to win, and is also hilarious, somehow. I’ve read this fic over and over and over, and I especially do it when I have time before a new season of GBBO. Also, have snacks!! It makes me hungry

The Section by bananaheathen - 11k words 1D Uni AU with grad student TAs, sophomore undergrads, art classes, movie analysis, and final essays as methods of seduction. Also, nicknames, nude models, a Halloween party, and absolutely shameless flirting. I loved it, and laughed the whole way through. 

I’ve Heard it Both Ways by @adoredontour - 26k words 1D Psych AU. I love this one. I love the fic, I love psych, I love the author. I’ve read most of her works, but this one has such a special place in my heart. Go read it!! 

Play it All Night Long by janine_tangerine - 43k words SPN radio AU with DJ!Dean and bartender!Cas, with music, annoying coworkers, sassy siblings, and lots of love. WHOAH WHATS THIS A LIVEJOURNAL FIC??? I know but I read this ages ago, and it has music EMBEDDED WITHIN THE FIC! It was my first introduction to Bob Dylan, who remains one of my favorite artists of all time. 

Crossroads State by Mercy - 51k words SPN slice of life AU with Mechanic!Dean, Teacher!Cas, Law Student!Sam, and lovely lovely moments. All sweet, some tension, but no real angst. I read this forever ago, and still come back and back and back to it. 

Peace and Good Luck to All Men by KismetJeska - 31k words SPN College Au. DO YOU MEAN THE BEST CHRISTMAS FIC EVER OF ALL TIME??? I read this on the first day of December every year, and it makes me laugh every time. Cas falls in love with his sister’s boyfriend, Gabe and Luke are in a seduction competition, Michael is tired of everyone, and Dean doesn’t know what hit him. 

For All You Young Hockey Players, Pay Attention by @thursdaysfallenangel - 144k words SPN enemies to lovers hockey AU. Just. Please go read this. Gorgeous and still one of the best fics in the whole fandom, imo. Cas is the new transfer on Dean’s team, and Dean doesn’t like change. 

The Complete Works of Emmanuel Allen by @violue - 54k words SPN small town AU ft. writer!Cas and local business owner!Dean. Dean meets his favorite author, but does not know it’s him. Shenanigans ensue, with a lovely warm feel. Dean builds a mausoleum and owns cats and lives in the woods. Cas needs a change of scene. Sam thinks everyone needs some more company. 

The Mirror by cloudyjenn - 25k words SPN parallel universe AU. This was one of the first fics I ever read, and I still love it. Dean touches an enchanted mirror and travels through universes in search of an answer to a question he hasn’t asked. Full of love, family, and companionship. 

Asunder by rageprufrock - 24k words SPN AU with Social worker!Dean, Doctor!Cas, Sober!Sam, and RUBY!!! Ugh I love this fic for Ruby alone. This one is more bittersweet. Dean hasn’t spoken to Sam in years due to his struggles with addiction. Sam, now sober, is getting married, and has invited him. Dean can’t face his family alone. 

But It’s a Good Refrain by lady_ragnell - 23k words Merlin Radio AU! Merlin has an anonymous gossip radio show, and someone calls in to put Arthur on blast! Morgana is a fan, Arthur is not amused, and a sort of enemies to lovers thing occurs. Just lovely, and it makes me laugh every time. 

And Like the Cycle of the Year, We Begin Again by @katherynefromphilly - 208k words Merlin canon compliant. This is the Season 6 we should have had. If you’re at all into this fandom, go read it - it’s still an all time fav for me. Hundreds of years later, Arthur walks out of the lake. Merlin has been waiting. 

Give The Dragon a Chili by @supercalvin - 47k words Merlin magical AU based on the story in New Zealand of the cat stealing someone’s underwear. Merlin’s dragon is sort of a thief. 

Fundamental Imperfection by Starlingthefool - 12k words Merlin famous author AU. Arthur likes Dickens. Merlin does not. They get into it on a panel, and twitter stan wars ensue. And enemies to friends to lovers where literary arguments are an expression of love, and stories are magical. 

The Student Prince by FayJay - 145k words Merlin Uni AU. What a classic!! It’s a magical realism royal enemies to friends to lovers AU ft. a dragon in the walls, a lovely gay soc, Gwen as a Muggle, and some really great characters and moments. Do yourself a favor and go read this one. 

Call it Love by @dalek-in-heels - 30k words Merlin RPF. UGH THIS ONE!!! Okay 1.) the author is one of my best friends, and she’s amazing! 2.) lovely fic that takes place at the end of Merlin, and still has one of my all-time favorite misunderstandings in fic ever. “Yogurty Heart” is my favorite way to say I love you. 

If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by @watsonshoneybee - 35k words Sherlock AU canon compliant through season 3. This one is sad, but the title is taken off of one of my favorite books, and the writing is gorgeous - as is the characterization. Happy ending, though! I promise! So the journey is all worth it! 

In All of the Lives We Are by @dalek-in-heels - 20k words The Magicians canon compliant through the first half of season 3. Sarah does it again and writes one of the best fics I’ve ever read. Art as therapy, a sweet love story in more than one universe, and finding the will to keep going through the worst days. The writers of the actual show should have read this fic and put it on the screen. This is my canon. 

A Happy Ending? Sure Enough by me (imbellarosa) - 8k words The Magicians canon compliant up to season 4. This is the only one of mine I’m putting on the list, because I still really like this one! You need some context, but not much? Idk, just if you want to see how *I* write!

DIE ÄRZTE ASK GAME (click to the ask game!):

1. Wie & wann bist du auf DÄ gekommen?

It was in April 2009. My dad was on a German course and the book had “Männer sind Schweine”. The teacher (who was also later my German teacher!) liked dä so she played the song to them and my dad who’s very much into music, liked what he heard and at home of course searched for more. He then asked me (and my siblings) to come downstairs to his room because he wanted to showe us something - and it was the music video of Junge because he found it hilarious and the music really great.

At first I wasn’t sure what to think but said I could try listening to them, so then my dad started downloading and bringing me music on USB sticks all day every day until he got everything downloaded, and I just added stuff to my mp3 player whenever I got more songs. I did not speak German at all so at first I was pronouncing the name very much incorrectly (you know, “die” as in English), and sometimes I kinda miss it how I just saw a bunch of gibberish on my mp3 player screen. I still remember being in a work training at a horse stable and shoveling hay to a wheelbarrow, and my strongest memory is about the album Geräusch and I will always associate Anti-Zombie with this one horse box I was cleaning and it’s possible that I got obsessed with this album so that I started the day with it and was always cleaning the horse boxes in the same order. But I only remember Anti-Zombie and how I just suddenly realized that this song is one of the best I have EVER heard. (It still is! And Geräusch was my favorite album for a very long time and it’s still my favorite 2000s album.)

7. Lieblings-Bandmitglied?

I don’t really have a favorite? Like, musically I like Farin’s songs the most but some of my ultimate favorite songs come from Rod, too, like Anti-Zombie, T-Error, Geisterhaus (I think the best Rod songs are on Geräusch and those are some of the best dä songs overall as well), Mondo Bondage, Morgens Pauken, Sohn der Leere, Bang Bang (Instrumental)... I bet there’s also great 90s songs but I just forgot about everything again. Anyhow, I’ve never been that much into Bela’s songs. He has many really great ones too, but usually my favorite Bela songs are those that Rod has written with him. Which also explains why I’ve never been that fond of Bela’s solo music (I own the first two albums) and why I like FU/FURT the most from these two. I can’t say anything about Rod’s solo stuff or other bands as I have never listened to those, but I’m very much into movie scores and kinda interested in hearing what his movie scores sound like but I’m lazy and have memory issues and motivation issues so I don’t know more than that. (But I wish he did more songs for dä, I miss the times when he still had more than just 1-2 songs on an album. Although, I never witnessed the release of those albums but still :D)

But if this question is about them as people, then I guess it’s Bela and because I’ve just always been so amazed by his open-mindedness, you know? Like, he seems so genuine and caring and that he has had his feet on the ground at all times? (Or if he didn’t when he was younger, then he has learnt from that and can see that now, at least from what I have read from the books.) A while back I had an ask (to an ask game) on my mainblog, to choose between Bela and Farin and that post got a bit longer and you can find a deeper answer to this from that one. But let’s just say I tend to get super protective over Bela if anyone dares to claim he hasn’t always been as open-minded as what he now seems to be :D

Farin is way too similar to me and even tho he’s very relatable, especially what comes to the sense of humour, I still don’t agree on everything he says or does. And too much is too much. About Rod I don’t know enough because he doesn’t speak much and when he does, I usually don’t understand what he says because he (and Bela) is sometimes really bad at articulating and as a German learner it’s very difficult to make sense of anything he (or they) say sometimes. AN ex-friend once claimed I don’t know anything about Rod because I simply just don’t care about him and like..... no??? Also I don’t control it what my brain finds interesting, but I swear that one day I’m gonna read both dä books from cover to cover and I’m not gonna skip anything and then I’ll know more about Rod too.

9. Ein Lied, mit dem du viel verbindest?

“Allein”, definitely. Do you know that feeling when you listen to music, an album or song you have listened to so many times before, and then suddenly something just... hits and you hear a song the way you have never heard it before and you’re overwhelmed and mindblown? Yeah, that’s what happened to me with Allein. I don’t remember the exact year when that happened but I remember I was sitting in my car at a grocery store’s parking lot, listening to music and waiting for someone from my family to come out of the store.

Wait I actually found a post from my old Finnish blog from April 2010 about this song and the moment when it hit me!!! The post says the song became my favorite from Jazz ist anders! when I heard it for the first time, and this moment^ was the first time I read it lyrics and the first time ever I felt that lyrics also meant something to me. I was not able to translate anything myself yet but I found the song with English subtitles form youtube (now deleted) and that’s how I understood the story in the song.

So, I was almost 19 and relating to “Allein” a lot. Now it’s almost 11 years later and I’m (still) 29 and I STILL relate to this song so much and now also to the career part because I literally have been working with horses for over 10 years and have been studying them and I’m not sure why and now I don’t know if I even want to do this for the rest of my life or not. Idk, maybe it’s a bit sad too that for the past 10 years I have related to this song this much when it’s about loneliness... but it just doesn’t seem to end, idk if it will ever end, to be honest.

12. Findest du die Musik von vor oder nach der Reunion besser?

I would say the music after the reunion, but I’m also really fond of their 80s music, especially the self-titled album. I was lucky enough to find the original -86 release on vinyl, in perfect condition even, and you don’t understand how much that record means to me. I hate the song Geschwisterliebe and I will always skip that (especially now as I am able to follow lyrics from audio somewhat) but I still refuse to own a version of the album without that song. So that record really is very dear to my and my treasure and I sometimes take it out just to look at it and to be happy about the fact it’s MINE.

But anyway, to answer this question, I think I have to answer that I like the post-reunion music more because the 90s is my favorite dä time of all times. Planet Punk is still my fave dä album EVER, 13 is also a favorite, and I love Die Bestie, and all the interview and live and other video material from the 90s is also something I never get tired of watching. Maybe it’s because I was born in 1991 and 90s was my childhood so it feels familiar and safe? I don’t know. But I tend to be drawn to 90s music with all bands I like and if those bands have had a 90s phase. I guess there’s something about the 90s punk rock that I just like that also dä has.

16. Was macht Die Ärzte besonders?

Does this mean “what makes dä special”? Well, I’m gonna answer to that anyway even if it doesn’t mean that :D So I would say it’s the variety they have in their songs. They have loads of songs and albums and I still haven’t heard one song that would sound like some other song of theirs. (Apart from Hell, it has several songs that remind me of their older songs and I haven’t decided yet if that’s good or bad.)

There’s also pretty much something for everyone - which might also backfire because I actually knew someone who likes dä too but somehow we happened to like the opposite songs only. Like, you both can be fans and still not agree on favorite songs or even favorite albums or eras. It’s weird. So it feels like “yay we like the same band!!!” but in the end you don’t have anything in common because you don’t like the same things even within one band’s music...

For me dä is special because when I found about them, I was no longer actively searching for new music to listen to. And still they did and somehow all that diversity in their music was insane. Like, the singer’s voice is super important for me and I have turned down so many bands just because I don’t like the singer’s voice or singing style, and somehow this band has three singers and I like ALL OF THEM. Like, what are the odds??? So after getting used to their songs and learning song and album names and other stuff, I literally felt that I had actually found the music that has everything I need from music. I didn’t need to look for the best band ever because I already found it, no other band can top them, a band that would make better music than die ärzte just simply does not exist. And I’m totally happy with that which is why it took me years to even start listening to new music and new bands because I just didn’t need them anymore, I already had dä, you know. I was told (by the same ex-friend who said I just don’t care about Rod) that no band is superior than others but this person refused to understand when I tried to explain that they are superior to ME. And they are superior to me and I don’t give a fuck if others think I’m wrong, it’s my opinion and my favorite band and I have a right to say that they are the best band ever if they are the best band ever for me.

Are you usually hot or cold? I’m always a cozy crispy amount of warmth under my blanket. But when I’m outside I go from both extremes because I’m super sensitive so, spring/summer: always hot, autumn/winter: always cold. There is no inbetween

Favorite chocolate? The really dark kind. It’s the only chocolate I’ll ever really crave. I can bear milk chocolate if I have to

Do you eat vitamins? No, like not at all. Not one vitamin has entered my body in a few weeks. I used to have these tablets that disappear in water but I stopped drinking that because I only take them bc of my muscles and currently I’m not leaving the house so,,, don’t need them >:)

When was the last time you traveled? The last time I full on traveled like outside of the country was in 2018 when my class went to italy because of our graduation 🤠 trauma

Do you like sunbathing? I can’t really answer that because if I sunbathe I will burn. Like literally I’m getting a sunburn just from walking to the train on a sunny day if I don’t have the strongest suncream on??? My skin is very🤡 so yeah idk if I like it? Never tried

Asian or Italian food? Asian food absolutely. I’m not sure about italian food because I just don’t know anything about italian kitchen but I dO knOw that theres so much variety with asian food? And so far I’ve loved every asian dish I’ve tried so,,

Do you drink soda? Nope. I stopped drinking soda four years ago I think because my skin was sO bad and I gained weight so quickly without eating a lot so I stopped drinking soda and tada! Barely getting pimples now😎 also it’s just tastier like my mouth doesn’t stick anymore and I don’t literally feel the sugar on my teeth?? (Although I do sometimes sip on a bit of coke but only on special occasions)

What are you afraid of? Everything pretty much. Commitment, people leaving me, talking to people, failing, succeeding, should I continue?

What kind of housework you like the least? I actually love housework? At least the things that I do. Like I never mow the lawn because that’s not my job yknow? Do you sleep on your back or side? On my right side towards the wall. At least at night, when I take a nap I sleep on my left side towards the room. Idk why pls don’t ask me, I can’t fall asleep otherwise.

You crave fast food, where do you go? So around where I live there aren’t a lot of options? Also in germany in general we don’t have the fast food fest that america has, so I always go for either Mcdonald’s or Subway.

What is your lucky number? 5. I don’t know when it became my favorite/lucky number but somehow at some point in time it’s become the number I always use when someone wants me to guess or answer a question, I use it for picking things and all that🤡🤠 maybe it’s because it sounds rly funny in german

Who was the last person you talked to? In person my mom cus she’s the only one I see nowadays. On the phone would be two of my friends and I also talked to my tutoring teacher through discord so? Pick👁👁

Do you eat meat? I would say no if I wouldn’t sometimes do slip some meat in. It’s very rare and a small amount when I do. Idk how this developed because I used to eat meat multiple times a week but at some point I started only eating chicken and only in smaller amounts and sometimes not even once in two weeks. I eat fish tho? Does that count?

What was the last song you listened to? “Love without tragedy/mother mary” by rihanna because I was feeling the 10’s last night at 5am🤠

Last book? I actually just tried to find the english title of it but I can’t find any sign of it being translated so,, “der Totenzeichner” by Veit Etzold. I read this book twice, once in 9th grade and once just recently and I will not get enough of it. Another one of his books “Final cut” is laying on my bedside table waiting for me to start it. He’s an iconic author.

What is your favourite day of the week? If we were speaking from when it’s a regular routine and I would go to uni, I’d say Monday. I know I sound like a psycho but saying friday or saturday is my favorite day is basic because obviously everyone loves the weekend. Monday is a great day usually because my day starts in third period and does still go 6 classes like regular days but it feels nice to go into uni later in the day so I always appreciate it. (Tho saturday do be hitting different)

Do you know the alphabet song backwards? I don’t even know it forwards 🤡😔

Favorite coffee/tea? I don’t drink coffee but my favorite tea is probably fennel tea, everyone I know hates it, especially without sugar but I love it :(

Favourite shoes? From the ones I personally own I’d say my nike zoom 2ks because they look good and are super comfortable. Shoes that I wish I would have would be Dr. Martens but I’m pOor🤡 I am absolutely a whore for sneakers so I won’t even start listing all the sneakers I love

When do you usually go to sleep? If I’m on schedule around 11-12pm of actually going into the bed physically and falling asleep 30/40 minutes later. While I’m now constantly at home I do still physically get into bed at the same time but I stay up from 2-7am depending on how fun people are, if I play a game, if I read/draw, have a series or movie to watch. I’m insane I am aware🤡

When do you usually wake up? Again, when I’m on schEdule I wake up mondays and tuesdays at 6.30am, from wednesday to friday at 6.10am, on the weekend around 10am. Right now? It’s a surprise everyday. Sometimes I’m up at 4pm, sometimes I’m up at 10am, today I was actually super early with 9.30 so😎

Sunrise or sunset? That’s actually so hard because I do see the sunset a lot more than rise since I have my rOllÄdEn down so I don’t actually remember what a sunrise looks like. Because I have no other choice I say sunset. With doubt.

Do you like your bed soft or hard?  I thINK my bed is hard? I once laid on a friend’s bed that was super soft and I’m pretty sure I didn’t like it

Describe the plate you are eating from? They’re from ikea. They’re white with like blue swirls idk my mom bought them I didn’t make the decisions

Your favorite type of alcohol? Currently I don’t really drink alcohol (mainly because of the lack of opportunities) bUt when I do drink I really like sweet sparkling wine (I googled this I’m not sure if that’s the right word idkd)

Do you like board games? Depending on which people I play with. If a person is getting angry that they’re losing it makes the game absolutely suck and since I’m surrounded by those people I haven’t made good memories with board games kcjdjs,,, if the company is fun I like the games too tho

If you had a car, what kind would it be? Unrealisticly I’d love to own a Lamborghini Aventador or Urus because those cars are just mouth-watering to me. Since I most likely won’t ever be able to afford either of those, I’d love to have a Fiat 500. a/n. firstly i apologize for how long this part is i just rlly wanna add everyth and it’ll all make sense in the end ok. n e ways regarding the whole bloo scandal and stuff idk cuz im not rlly a whole ass bloo stan aight so im gonna kinda stay away from that until he or someone clears stuff up so i dont do the whole “cancelled/uncancelled” thing lol k read

LAST a/n i promise. i changed it to first person pov cuz bitch i wrote the entire thing in first person on accident and i just cant deal w this any more

LIPS. daniel's were dripping with ambrosia. kissing him was like tasting an eternal summer, an immortal hour of golden skies, humid nights, honey kissed skin bronze and glistening as we moved against each other.

in this short span of time, daniel seemed to know everything about me; what i loved, what i hated, what got my heart racing and my breathing heavy, he knew what turned me on and he did it with finesse.

seeing him sit up, red marks on his back as he leaned against the bed frame and lit up a cigarette, felt like a scene taken straight from an angst filled movie. i wanted to admire every aspect of him; the way his damp hair stuck to his forehead, the purple bruises forming dark clouds over the moon tattoo, a cigarette dangling between his swollen pink lips.

i curled under the white sheets, so different from my own patterned ones, feeling immersed in the comforting smell of him. he rolled out of bed to get me my jacket to cover myself with. "this is yours," i told him when he handed it to me.

"what's mine is yours, baby." daniel laid down next to me and i wrapped my fingers around the golden necklace that hung loosely around his neck, pulling his face closer to kiss his lips once more. perhaps the taste of his lips was like the food of the greek gods ― pleasurable and addictive.

when my father called that night, i let another lie escape my dirty lips, telling him i had left the party and decided to stay over with jojo. "i'll see you tomorrow then, baby. love you."

"i love you too, daddy." why was i compelled to do the worst things when it came to daniel? i didn't know, but i liked it.

daniel raised his eyebrows as i hung up the phone. "oh, i thought you were talking to me when you said that." i clicked my tongue and laid my throbbing head on the pillow. it's like my lie came to life.

"do you think anyone heard us?" i asked daniel, looking up at him. the smoke seeping out of his lips enveloped my face for a second, and i indulged in the suffocating feeling.

"who cares? they'll only hear your moans... the real sight is for me to see."

he talked like that usually,  but he was definitely wasted tonight. he tried to put his arms around me but i rolled onto my side, away from him. "what's wrong, baby? you didn't like it?" daniel rested his head on my shoulder and i reached up, running my fingers through his hair.

"will you forget everything in the morning."

daniel scoffed, his breath tickling my skin. "i never forget... but in case i do, then we can do it all over again and it'll feel like the first time." i laughed softly, and then turned to look at him, running my fingers over the birthmark on his cheek and over his lips, just like i had fantasized about doing on more nights than one.

daniel just parted his lips, taking my finger into his mouth, his eyes unwavering as they stared into mine. daniel was everything i wanted to be, everything i needed him to be; fearless, emotional, dominant.

"do you... really like me?"

"you talk too much," daniel groans, lighting up another cigarette. "i do... but if you ever end up in my bed again, don't think about asking me such a question."

i received stares when daniel dropped me off at school the next day, in his black bentley with the roof down and the early morning breeze running through my hair, much like his fingers had done just the previous night.

"see you later, baby?" said daniel, pressing a kiss on my lips that caused everything to somehow fall into place. i would leave the shadow of his lips on mine, getting me through the day.

it didn't take long for jojo to point out the band-aids on placed carefully on my knees caused by the rough work of last night. i didn't expect anything less from daniel.

"was it really like that?"

i nodded, taking a long chug from my water bottle. "it was like that. all fucking night long. he didn't even let me get on the bed until he was done."

"my, my, my, it's always the ones who look innocent that are the most freaky," jojo remarked, shaking her head. "and while you were getting it on with daniel, tattoo face has been blowing up my phone."

"jinyoung?"

"whatever his name is."

sometimes i wish that i could be like jojo - so caught up in her own world, independent, free of need to feel important or appreciated. maybe that's why people were just so drawn to her. i, on the other hand, craved attention and daniel didn't mind giving it to me. we fit each other.

TOGETHER. that's the way we were mostly found. tangled in between daniel's sheets, wrapped in each other's arms, clinging to one other ― where one went, the other followed. his friends soon became mine and my one (1) friend became theirs. just like that we became connected and feeling that connection was something worth risking for in life.

"mm baby wake up... i have to take you to school." the low, gravelly voice stirred me from my sleep but i didn't have enough motivation to open my eyes. last night, i had sneakily set an alarm on daniel's phone titled "wake y/n up for school" ― not that i couldn't have done it myself, i just thought it would be nice to be woken up by daniel this morning.

i stretched out my arms and laid my head atop his. "i don't wanna go to school," i murmured softly with a yawn. daniel grinned and snuggled closer to me, his arms snaking around my waist so that my back was pressed against his bare chest.

"okay."

my eyes fluttered open as i yawned again. "you're supposed to tell me that i have to go."

daniel propped himself up on his elbow, brushing the strands of hair out of my eyes. "why would i do that? i want to lie in bed with you all day long, maybe fuck you back to sleep." it may have been too early in the morning to be affected by daniel's words but they hovered around my body, squeezing my insides right down to my very core.

i reached up, wrapping my arms around his neck and he lowered his head, trailing kisses down my jaw and shoulder. daniel could never waste enough time getting me undressed, hands ghosting along my skin, his lips worshiping me like i was something divine. my fingers running through his hair and his fingers complimenting all my curves and edges.

between us was electricity and friction, silence being broken only by my soft whimpers for i could no longer handle the enticing touch of his body and craved more than just that.

then a sudden interruption came with the opening of the door and nicholas's voice informing us that they were going out to eat breakfast. "what the fuck, nick!" daniel exclaimed, throwing a pillow at his friend before covering me with his body. "do you mind?"

nicholas just yawned, bored. "how am i supposed to know she slept over?"

"as if you couldn't hear us last night."

"ok just get ready, we're leaving now." he shook his head and walked out the door. i wanted daniel to get closer, to bury my face in his tousled hair, his hands to dutifully commend my body. but instead he sat up, checking his phone.

i sighed, wrapping the blanket around my bare chest. "you didn't lock your door?"

daniel smiled sheepishly. "i guess i forgot?"

"or did you want someone to find us?" i asked seriously. "you act like our sex life is to be shared with the entire world."

"shouldn't it be?"

"only if you wanna put a label on it," i murmured quietly so he wouldn't be able to hear me. daniel was so obviously into exhibition and i found it strange how he didn't mind his friends walking in on us, knowing about us, what we chose to do together.

daniel talked about things while we were in the car; things i only cared about because he cared about them. somehow what was special to him meant something to me because it was a side of him i never knew existed, yet loved all the same. and because his bros were a big part of his life, they became a part of mine - like i finally found a proper family.

"hey - um," daniel started when we stopped in front of my school building. i stopped in the process of slipping on my bag to turn and look at him. "i wanted to ask you something."

i became interested. "what is it?"

daniel sighed, looking down at his lip as if he was unsure about something. "i just thought... let's make it official? do you want to be my girlfriend?" i didn't know what to say. i assumed we were already dating with the amount of time we spent with each other, on his bed but i guess he felt differently.

when i didn't reply, daniel continued. "i mean, i've been hooking up with girls but i'm sick of them coming onto me like i've got nothing better to do... it's different with you."

"oh..." i faltered, knowing i should have expected something like that. it was just the most daniel thing to do.

"do you not wanna?"

"no! i mean, yes... yes of course i want to be your girlfriend," i told him, lacing my fingers through his. "but... we haven't even been on a proper date yet."

daniel grinned, pulling me closer just to press his lips against mine, tugging on my bottom lip before i moved away. "then where would you like to go? hm, baby?"

i thought about it for a second. "monet's diner? it's like at the edge of downtown."

"of all the nice places in ventura, you want to go to a diner?"

unlike daniel, i still wasn't familiar with the boujee lifestyle that came like second nature to him. i've never owned anything expensive and never wanted more than what life had to offer me. maybe being with daniel would mean having to change all that.

"the last time i ate there was with my mom," i explained, looking down at my schoolbag, playing with zipper. "i just never had someone else to go there with... until now."

daniel reached up and touched my cheek, probably the most gentle gesture of affection he'd ever shown. "then we'll go there."

2019!

I've done this year-in-review thing since 2007! 2007-2012 are over on my old LiveJournal, and 2013-on are right here on my Tumblr. :)

2020. 2020! That year sounds space-age or something lol, and not like it's just, well, tomorrow. Happy New Year, Tumblr!

What did you do in 2019 that you'd never done before?

Not too much, lol! I guess I just kept doing the things I usually do, but tried to do them better/improve them (when it comes to work!), or do more of them (fun times and family times!).

Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Every year I mention that I don't really make New Year's resolutions - more like little goals all year! - but hey, it's a new decade! This year I think I will make a resolution that I will hold myself to. In 2020, I resolve to work hard - like really hard - on being healthy! Eat right, exercise, lose weight, work on maintaining less stress - be good to myself! I know everyone makes that kind of resolution, but it's a good one for a reason. :)

Did anyone close to you give birth?

Aw, no new babies this year!

Did anyone close to you die?

Sadly, yes... my uncle (my dad's oldest brother) passed away in May. ♥ We also lost a beloved neighbor in August.

What countries did you visit?

Lol, none!

What would you like to have in 2020 that you lacked in 2019?

I seemed to lack the ability to chill this year, haha - I stressed out about everything! :O So I’m ready to go with the flow better in 2020!

What date(s) from 2019 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Can’t think of any big dates, but this December marked 5 years since I graduated (and gave a speech at the departmental ceremony, to toot my own horn lol!) from the University of Maryland! Time is bizarre - 5 years feels both forever ago and also not that far back!

What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I’ve been working in the registrar’s office at a community college for three years now! I love it, and I’m proud of the work I do!! :)

What was your biggest failure?

Everything’s a learning experience of course lol, but thankfully I didn’t goof too bad this year! ;)

Did you suffer illness or injury?

Oh my goodness, I started off the year with a thumping in my right ear (the name for it is “pulsatile tinnitus” - which somehow makes it sound scary!). :O Happily, that mess dissipated in a few months’ time, but it sure did worry (and annoy) me! Other than that - all good! :)

What was the best thing you bought?

I was very fortunate this year to buy a few things that really made me smile!

I do love a perfume! Dior Addict is a stunning, spicy vanilla (I love ‘em sweet!) that really hits the spot.

I’m also pleased, on the “I stan goofy dance music” front, to have found a couple of old Ministry of Sound compilations that I’ve had bookmarked on Amazon for awhile - they came back in stock this year and I snatched ‘em up. Anthems Sound of Dubstep (2012) is brash and obnoxious fun, and Sessions Ten (2013) is slightly less brash but just as obnoxious so I love it. They’re both releases from the Australian arm of MOS!

Oh and one of my fave used record stores had a copy of one of DJ Rap’s “Bad Girl” CD singles with mixes I didn’t have; I was kinda shocked to see it and very very happy to buy it! It was only 99 cents. Wow!! I do like a ridiculous deal! :)

Whose behavior merited celebration?

My mom is amazing, as always, and so are my dad and brother! I love my fam!!

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

No one!

Where did most of your money go?

See above - my more frivolous spending went toward perfume and goofy dance tunes, haha!

What did you get really, really, really excited about?

I will never, ever forget opening a very special present for Christmas this year. I love and adore It’s a Wonderful Life, and I even wrote a paper about it in college. I used a fabulous book as one of my sources - The It’s a Wonderful Life Book by Jeanine Basinger - and since then I’ve always had it in the back of my mind to purchase it someday. It’s a fantastic keepsake kinda thing for a fan of the movie. Unfortunately it always seemed to be out of stock, or way too expensive to consider, so over time I kind of just put it on the back burner.

But just a few days ago on Christmas morning as we all opened gifts, I tore wrapping paper off a box, pulled off the box top, and bam - there it was. Decorative tissue paper obscured it, but I could see the book cover peeking through - The It’s a Wonderful Life Book! My mama, the best mama, found this awesome book for me! My Christmas - my year! - was made! ♥

Bravo's Real Housewives - all of 'em! - crack me up and bring the totally ridiculous drama!

The Orville is fantastic, one of my fave more recent shows. I love the cast! Each episode really adds to their stories and builds the show's world. Looking forward to the next season!

Emergence is a great new sci-fi show with a strong cast - especially the sensible, big-hearted lead Allison Tolman - and suspenseful storyline!

I haven't seen the first season, and to be honest I don't think I'd be able to explain what the heck it's actually about because I'm easily confused, but American Gods caught my attention this year! The cast is excellent - even if the plot escaped me, lol, I really got into the characters.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2019?

I love a classic, slightly minimal style, but I'm just happy to look decently put-together lol!

What was the best book you read in 2019?

The It’s a Wonderful Life Book was probably the best book I read (well, most of it!) this decade. ♥

What was your greatest musical discovery?

SPELLLING is awesome - definitely an artist I'm excited to hear more from!!

What did you want and get?

I won't say The It’s a Wonderful Life Book again! :)

On a more serious note, I had my first MRIs in a while for MS maintenance - my previous neurologist retired and my new doctor wanted to get a baseline. I was very, very anxious about getting the results. My former doctor last ordered an MRI in 2011, so this was definitely a good and highly necessary step, but very nerve-wracking! I'm so fortunate to not be experiencing symptoms - and haven't since my initial occurrence of optic neuritis in '09 (though I was actually diagnosed with MS in 2011) - but what might the MRIs (brain and T- and C-spine) reveal?

I wanted to receive good results - a report of stability, not progression. And would you believe it? I did. My (amazing!) neurologist gave me the greatest news I had all year - stable, no new lesions, all good!! Of course this is for now - who knows about the future? - but I'm thrilled, and thankful. As this year ends and I reflect on all the good, this takes the cake!!

What did you want and not get?

Pffft, nothin' lol! I've got so many lovely things and reasons to be thankful - who could ask for more?!

What was your favorite film of this year?

Lol I did not see many new movies, but of the '19 films I saw, my fave was Knives Out! I only just saw it yesterday - what a fun way to close out the year! Fantastic cast, clever story, funny - just all-around entertainment.

I also loved Yesterday. All the Beatles references and the obvious affection for the group and their fans just felt like a great big hug! So good!

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

Girl I'm well and truly a thirty-something now - 33!! I had fun! I did lots of little fun things with my fam - like shopping, watching movies, that kind of good stuff!

What three things would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Like I said above - who could ask for more? Not me! :)

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

I'm late to the David Harbour bandwagon - but better late than never!

And also Daniel Craig in Knives Out was a good thing.

What political issue stirred you the most?

Ew, there's something stirring like every hour or so.

Who did you miss?

Losing my grandmother at the end of last year really colored a lot of this year... and then losing my uncle added more shadows. ♥♥♥

What is a valuable life lesson you learned in 2019?

I always answer this one with a twist on the Pet Shop Boys song title and my life philosophy - "Happiness is an option." So here we go! The chorus of the song acknowledges that "it is not easy," and some times are definitely like that. This year had those moments, and next year will too, because that's how life is! It is often not easy.

But! The last bit of the chorus follows "it is not easy" with "happiness is an option." Things can stink, but they can be okay too. That's what "happiness is an option" has always meant to me, and it means that just as much this year. Maybe even more!!

See above haha! "Happiness is an option” has been my fave quote for years, and I’m gonna keep on living it! :)

I saw this ask in the middle of work and I wanted to scream aksldfjalks I’m gonna tell you rn that I got really overwhelmed with the amount of authors that have earned a spot in my top favs that I actually cut this to just the authors that I have most recently visited (this counts as returning multiple times to reread a certain fic… which happens… a lot)

@arckook Ria is one of the first authors I ever read from for k-pop fanfiction. Until Ria, I was just highkey on that Haikyuu volleyball gays/imagines and I’d like to believe that she was one of the main reasons why I began to invest myself heavily into the kpop fandom. I’m always amazed with each piece she releases. Her style is so unique and hypnotizing. There’s a big section in my heart reserved just for Ria that I don’t have enough words to convey. plz support. plz love. she’s the best

Imagine twisting a knife in your gut and slowly removing it through the opposite side of your body. That’s this fic. But like. With love. askdjflksjd I really love the way Sarah portrays Kyungsoo. Her descriptions of his thoughts, mannerisms and quirks make me feel like I’m watching a movie. Everything is so distinct and the atmosphere feels tangible. idk words. I just love Sarah.

I’m weak for the “playboy” tamer… and tbh I feel like this would be Taeyong irl. Hard and complex to the eyes of an observer, but a major softy and sweet pea to the eyes of a listener. I’m upset of how little attention this fic has bc the world is really missing out on a diamond.

going out to lunch with cathy and gossiping about the other moms and their husbands–like literally, she brought the husbands up, not cathy–and then refusing to talk about her own marital situation because that’s ‘not cathy’s business’

getting pissy at mackenzie for not wanting to sing in front of the broadway talent scout, to the point of telling her she should go sit in the car by herself because melissa didn’t even want to look at her crying

honestly any time she attempted to talk to/comfort her children when they were upset, including simultaneously being angry at maddie for acting like she was 16 but then also accusing her of being immature

blaming nia for hurting maddie during the watermelon game even though no one saw maddie get hurt

calling maddie her “best friend” and the gift she received from her grandmother while mackenzie was standing right there

refusing to acknowledge that she sucks up to abby (I’m thinking particularly of the argument the moms had during the party in the episode “brooke’s back”)

seeing nothing wrong with the “fantastic” group dance even though her 7 year old and 9 year old were being portrayed as NUDE

clearly being pissed that chloe won the ballet scholarship, and then being pissy with maddie for being upset, which obviously did not help maddie process the loss

forcing maddie to ask abby for a solo after she forget “in my heart” even though maddie was clearly uncomfortable with doing another solo so soon

getting angry at the mothers for accusing abby of scratching maddie’s cd even though melissa herself apparently told the mothers that abby had maddie practice with the scratched music

and then being totally fine with abby’s explanation and refusing to discuss it with the mothers any further

tattling on chloe for missing rehearsal to go to the movies even though chloe was told not to dance that day by her doctor and even though chloe was a child and melissa was a grown-ass woman

saying “oh, it was only a tenth of a point between chloe and maddie” at nationals because she couldn’t just be happy for chloe winning a title

season 3

participating in the strike but being annoying about it, and then immediately going right back to abby without a second glance at the moms

feeling so obviously threatened by sophia’s presence but refusing to admit it

lying to jill about being excited for “sugar and spice”, then getting all pissy at being caught in the lie

wailing to abby about how much she and maddie love the studio and love abby and how nasty the other mothers are and just….the general hysterics of that scene (even maddie was embarrassed!)

doing the secret broadway baby tribute….not the worst thing, but just another example of her going behind the other moms’ backs

the weirdness with kenzie’s foot, which melissa’s attempted explanations only made more suspicious

not caring at all when abby wanted to take kenzie out of “gold diggers” and refusing to advocate for her child

again, feeling so obviously threatened by asia but refusing to admit it

being a-okay with the whole “two girls, one solo” scenario

accusing the mothers of being so jealous and awful to maddie during “tap vs. hiphop” because they pointed out the differences between abby’s reaction to maddie’s costume malfunctioning and her reaction to any other kids’ costumes malfunctioning

then being like “why wouldn’t you trust me??? how could you not trust me???” as if she hasn’t given ample evidence of her lying and manipulating

being a-okay with mackenzie being forced to dance like maddie in “sister showdown”, even though kenzie was clearly uncomfortable

being all “oh maddie would never bully chloe” when christi brought up maddie making nasty remarks about the chloe/kalani duet in “family comes first”, rather than take the accusation seriously and, idk, talk to maddie about it??

letting abby put “happiness” in against kenzie, tea, and ava even though it was supposed to be kenzie’s week to dance against her select team counterpart. but she had such little faith in kenzie’s abilities that she’d sooner take the win with maddie than let kenzie have the spotlight.

and also again being shocked that anyone would take issue with her actions

not standing by the moms when they tried to point out abby’s poor treatment of the girls with the whiteboard in “the understudies”

like the other mothers, refusing to stand by christi or look out for the lukasiaks during the final fight at s4 nationals

season 5

promoting the whole “CHRISTI AND KELLY ARE OUT TO DESTROY THE ALDC” conspiracy

listening to abby during the whole mattyb debacle, even though it was an opportunity for kenzie (not a great one, but still)

always blathering on about all the great stuff maddie got to do with sia, but getting pissy whenever, say, holly would talk about the cool stuff nia was doing with her music. because only maddie is allowed to be successful!!

including when maddie was allowed to interrupt rehearsal for an interview, but when nia did the same, melissa lost her shit

being all smug as if brynn could neeeeever beat maddie in a million years

lamenting the fact that she couldn’t be with “her daughter” at the hollywood bowl even though she was with one of her fucking daughters at the aldc

being such a horrid bitch about nia’s music and acting like it was directly harming kendall

also accusing holly of being exclusionary by only having jojo in nia’s performances/videos even though none of the other mothers were even a little bit supportive of nia’s music career

everything she did in “maddie vs. mackenzie”. just everything.

freaking out during “chaos at nationals” because as if ava could possibly beat maddie!! then leaving the competition in a huff with abby and jill like a bunch of tantrumming children

season 6

being awful to the minis throughout the season

being awful to brynn (and ashlee) throughout the season

refusing to tell mackenzie about the plans to leave the aldc, even though she discussed it thoroughly with maddie, but who cares, not like it would have a massive effect on kenzie!!

being majorly pissed that brynn’s trio with kenzie/kalani won over maddie’s trio with jojo/kendall even though one of her daughters was victorious, all because she didn’t want brynn to be an official member of the team

going so far as to say that brynn’s trio shouldn’t have won IN FRONT OF MACKENZIE and even accusing that trio of cheating or fudging the scores

being all “ashlee is crazy and mean” like bitch look at your damn self before you start trying that shit

being all “haha, brynn came in 4th, she sucks ass” only for maddie to place 4th against brynn…..:///

also just generally downplaying brynn’s skills and acting as if brynn had no talent whatsoever, even though 1) a few of those skills, like brynn’s needle, are skills kenzie also had and 2) brynn was clearly talented and melissa’s denials only made her seem delusional

everything she did in “one last dance”. special shout-out to calling the minis “nobodies” and accusing sari of trying to use her disabled child to take the attention away from maddie and mackenzie.

some more fate musings

find it so interesting how when i decided to read fsn i was like 'ok so im sure ill probably hate most of this but i need to slog through it for the Lore so that f/z can really become one of my faves'

and then i ended up hating f/z and caring so little about the lore that i refuse to watch anything fate-related not set in fuyuki

like the lore is still great and i do care about it but only within fsn and fha. the rest can be canon or not canon or whatever and i dont give a flying fuck

and f/z.... idk like somehow i didnt know that it'd have inconsistencies and that it's so different themes and execution-wise?

i guess it was a misjudgment on my part bc the pieces of media i love most are always the ones with tons of slice of life and character interactions that only bring in the Plot and the Pain after you've gotten very attached to the characters and their world. and that also happen to have optimistic themes and endings

and f/z is the literal polar opposite of that. i knew i dont mesh well with urobuchi's work for these reasons and yet i still feel so incredulous. like theres ppl who have consumed everything fate-related and love f/z the most out of all of them. and i findcthat very interesting

and so im left to wonder how i'd feel about fate in general had i started with f/z. there's still the risk that i wouldn't have liked it bc like i said, i dont mesh well with urobuchi's works. but at the very least i probably wouldn't have hated it as much as i do now

but i wonder how i would've felt abt ubw or the vn if i decided to dive into either of those. watching ubw after it wouldve been a horrible idea bc it /is/ the middle part of a three-part story and horrible if you expect a sequel to f/z. but i have no idea how f/z wouldve changed my experience with the vn

im so glad that i didnt go down that route tho. im kind of proud of myself for it. bc normally i wouldnt have even bothered with watch order or source material or whatever, especially when the vn is over 1 million words long. i wouldve just dived into f/z and been on my way

but reading fsn was such a special experience, life-changing even. and i am so glad i went into it knowing next to nothing about the franchise or even visual novels as a medium. and it might have raised the bar a bit too high when it comes to visual novels and especially their fandiscs but i dont regret it for a second

(also nobody knows about this but what really made me aware of the franchise was emiya gohan. bc i had heard about the millions of shows with fate in the title but i hadnt looked them up at all. then i saw its poster on an anime updates blog and i was like 'this looks nice what is this' and then i looked up fate and everything was too complicated so i was like ':( guess im never watching it' and then somehow at some point i came across deen/stay night's op and then f/z's second op and now here i am)

on another note i guess the reason i see so many ppl complain abt the cooking and school scenes early on in the fate route (and why i skimmed some of them myself at the time) is bc at that point you don’t know how important that part of life is for these characters. i mean i’ve seen ppl call fsn’s slice of life scenes ‘horrible’ a few times but i honestly don’t know in what way they’re worse than other vns’ sol scenes. 

apart from that when ppl talk negatively abt those scenes they mostly mean the beginning of the fate route when the plot is kind of an afterthought that shows up once in a while while shirou goes on with his life. and that’s when you’re still getting introduced to the characters and shirou himself so you don’t know that shirou doesn’t really have anything other than the cooking and the cleaning and the helping other people.

i wonder if that's the reason ppl don't seem to like them in the hf movies. bc if you just watch ubw and then jump into hf you are nowhere near as familiar with and attached to the characters as when you spend 40+ hours with them. bc in the vn by the time you get to hf you have a pretty good grasp on shirou’s character so you understand why those scenes are so important. at the same time you get to know sakura better and you see how important this part of life is for her too, especially as the shadow starts affecting her more and more. so yea that’s also one of those things that makes the vn such a different experience.

altho there are also ppl who read both fsn and fha and still don’t like those scenes and that’s valid. probably. eh

Tenimyu 30-day Challenge

1. How did you first come across TeniMyu?

It was back in late 2010/early 2011. I had just learned about the wonder that is tenipuri character songs and was browsing YouTube for more tenipuri material when I stumbled across a video of 1st season’s Do Your Best. I found it odd, to say the least, but the songs were very catchy and I recognized Shirotan from clips of the live action tenipuri movie so it got me curious. That led to more tenimyu videos, including clips from Imperial Match Hyoutei, Dream Live 3rd, and by the time I found a clip of the Rikkai’s medley on Dream Live 7th, I was completely hooked. (Massu is the PERFECT GODLY BAD ASS YUKIMURA.)

2. Talk about a performance/show that gave you a lot of feelings.

Oretachi no Aikotoba from Dream Live 6th. My precious 4th cast babies were all crying, some even admitted in their speeches that they didn’t want to stop playing their characters and leave tenimyu. how can I not cry

3. Favorite Seigaku cast? Who’s your favorite member?

I’M TORN BETWEEN 6TH CAST AND 8TH CAST. BUT. 

I LOVE YOU, ZAIKI TAKUMA

4. What kinds of TeniMyu merchandise do you have?

So far I only have clear files of Seigaku 6th cast and Rokkaku from 2nd season’s Seigaku VS Rikkai. Looking to get my hands on that Seigaku VS Rikkai DVD soon mhmm

5. Favorite Shitenhoji cast member? Which cast do you prefer and why?

Shiraishi actors are all perfect 

6. Which TeniMyu song would you cover?

I’m pretty sure I don’t have the vocal range to sing it correctly, but I’d love to sing Yudan Sezu ni Ikou in karaoke.

7. Shuffle your TeniMyu songs on your iTunes/music player. Choose the first five. What’s your opinion on them?

At the moment I only have 2nd season’s Seigaku VS Hyoutei, Seigaku VS Rikkai, and 3rd season’s Seigaku VS Hyoutei

Ranking (3rd SvH) - I don’t really like how it sounds like a hiphop song?? I tend to skip it when I’m listening to this playlist.

Oretachi wa Blizzard - I love this so much, especially Miura’s solo part. It’s such a catchy song.

Samurai - This one’s kinda meh, I’m not really that into it

Mirai e - I don’t know how to express my love for this grad song in words. It’s just. perfect.

Tomorrow for You & I (2nd SvH) - MY TEARS. I love this cast, and I especially love Wada Takuma, and you can hear his voice faltering and just crying and just BABY DON’T CRY

8. Favorite Dream Live?

Dream Live 7th, hands down. It’s the Dream Live that got me hooked. They have adlibs, my beloved Rikkai and Massu, my favorite Echizen, Shirotan, and even 1st cast. 

9. A song you feel indifferent towards and a song you hate. Why did you choose these songs?

Idk its title, I just really don’t like the Burning song with Kabaji yelling “BAU!” 

10. Favorite Rikkai cast and cast member. Why did you choose the ones you did?

Why do you do this THIS IS SO HARD. I wish I could include 3rd Rikkai here already because I heard they’re amazing, but the DVD isn’t out yet.

11. Do you actually stalk any TeniMyu actors (e.g. their twitters, blogs)?

Mostly just 3rd Rikkai’s Tateishi Toshiki for pictures of his dates with Shogo, Shogo for his cute selfies, and Takuma Isawa, my love, because he’s just so damn handsome and he tweets in Chinese (which I can’t speak but it’s still adorable  <3

12. What’s your opinion on the Rokkaku and Higa casts? Do you have a favorite moment or actor in them?

I can’t remember them much because it’s been years since I last watched 1st and 2nd season and they didn’t really leave much of an impression except for 2nd Saeki and Luke C. 

It’s actually amazing because I hated Kite in the anime/manga, but Luke C. makes him impossible to hate. 

2nd Saeki had a pretty voice and a pretty face. I can remember watching this Shounen boyband thing that he was in back then just for him.

13. Who plays the best Tezuka? The best Shiraishi? The best Ryoma? The best Fuji?

ZAIKI TAKUMA THE BEST.

He’s the Tezuka actor who looks the part the most, acts like Tezuka in the sense that he seems rather strict, and honestly, when he sings, he looks like how I’d imagine Tezuka would look like while singing. His movements are graceful and perfect, he always stays in character and keeps a straight face, and when he finally does smile, it’s just so beautiful I could melt. He’s a Tezuka to the core.

Sasaki Yoshihide is super graceful as Shiraishi and crazy fun backstage. Love him.

I only like Echizen (only in Tenimyu) thanks to his actors but most especially because of Takahashi Ryuuki’s performance in Final Match Rikkai 2nd

Furukawa Yuuta is probably my favorite Fuji. He has an amazing voice and beautiful dancing skills.

14. Favorite song and actor from any St. Rudolph cast.

2nd season’s Erabareshii Elite, was it? That was a beautiful song with beautiful choreography, and I absolutely LOVED Mizuki in that one (who doesn’t??)

15. Favorite song and actor from any Fudomine/Yamabuki cast.

3rd Yamabuki’s Sengoku has the most charming smile!! I love how he keeps winking.

16. How many TeniMyu songs can you sing along to (50-100%) by heart?

17. What’s your opinion on the Hyotei casts? Do you prefer one over the others? Why?

I adore Miura Hiroki!!! Tiny ballet Atobe is the best Atobe

Echizen Ryoma, Kite Eishirou, Mizuki Hajime

22. So far do you prefer the first season over the second season? Or is it a vice-versa kind of situation?

Although the production of second season had a huge step up in quality, I still prefer many of the first season songs and casts over the second season ones.

For a whole song performance, I can’t choose between the Atobe solo in 3rd Seigaku VS Rokkaku bc MIURA, but there’s also the 1st Petenshi daa nanto demo ie with the perfect Niou and Yagyuu.

For a single moment, I love the short part in between 神の子～DEAD END where Yukimura raises his racket and the Rikkai regulars surround him, kneel, and raise their rackets to him.

3rd Season Seigaku VS Hyoutei, and I’d like to change what happened at senshuuraku because it’s a very special day and I don’t want it to be ruined or dampened for Zaiki (and ofc I don’t want him to get hurt).

Best actor for my biased self is Zaiki because he is Tezuka

All Seigaku casts!!!! or all Rikkai casts or just 8th cast + 3rd season’s Hyoutei + 3rd Rikkai singing 1st cast songs and I want SanaYuki + TezuFuji or AtoTezu fanservice songs lol
