New Beginnings

Chapter Two

After the initial car repair, you drive away from Diaz’s Garage feeling a sense of relief and gratitude. Sean’s kindness and skills had left a positive impression, and Daniel’s lively chatter had brought a smile to your face. It’s not like you have a bunch of friends here anyway, but it’s hard getting to know people when you can’t communicate properly. You couldn’t help but think about them as you settled back into your daily routine in Puerto Lobos.

A few days later, as you are on your way to the grocery store in desperate need to restock your fridge you notice a slight rattle in your car—nothing serious, but definitely enough to remind you of the Diaz brothers. Would it be weird to swing by again? After all, Sean told you to come by if there would be another problem or if you needed anything else. For a moment you are thinking hard… It’s not weird. Especially not if your car has already broken down before and you really cannot risk losing this car. Puerto Lobos is not a big city, but most definitely not small enough that you could just walk everywhere if you have to run some errands. You quickly decided that the grocery store could wait, after all, you can’t reach the store if your car breaks down right? 

Pulling up to the garage, you see Sean working on another car, his focus and dedication evident in his every movement. Daniel is nearby, organizing tools and humming a tune. “Hey, good to see you again,” Sean greets you with a warm smile as you step out of your car. “Everything alright?”

“Mostly,” you reply. “I noticed a slight rattle and thought I’d get it checked out, just in case.” You are convinced that Sean must think that you are some kind of hypochondria… The voices in your head are fighting, because the next second you think, or maybe I am just a woman in a foreign country, who can’t properly communicate with anyone and just wants a well-working car. That is understandable, right? 

Sean nods, wiping his hands on a rag. “Let’s take a look.” All your worries disappear at once, he doesn’t seem to be annoyed with you at all, instead, he gives you a small smile that shows that he definitely appreciates you coming here and seeking out his help. 

As Sean examines your car, you find yourself chatting with Daniel, who is eager to share the latest happenings at school. It’s crazy to you how this boy is not even close to being shy like he barely knows you but that doesn’t keep him from telling you all about his day at school. His enthusiasm is infectious, and you realize you genuinely enjoy these interactions. The Diaz brothers have a way of making you feel welcome, and their garage feels more like a community hub than a place of business.

Once Sean finishes the inspection, he reassures you that the rattle is nothing serious—just a loose bolt that he quickly tightens. “You’re good to go,” he says, handing you the keys. “But if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to stop by.” There were these words again. If you ever need anything you should just stop by. And then what? Even though these two are making you feel very much welcome here and it feels so good to talk to them and not have to worry about if they can even understand you, but you can’t just come by and be like ‘Oh yeah I was just severely bored and thought hanging out with you two strangers would be totally cool.’ No, because that would actually be very weird. 

You thank him, but instead of leaving immediately, you linger for a moment. There’s something about the garage that feels inviting, almost like you’re drawn to return.

Over the next few days, you find yourself thinking about the Diaz brothers more often. You remember Sean’s calm demeanor and Daniel’s infectious energy, and how they made you feel like you belonged. The next Saturday, you decide to bring over some homemade tamales—a small gesture of gratitude and an excuse to visit the garage again. You worked on these tamales for hours, actually days because you already attempted to make them yesterday and they tasted like absolute garbage and since you were so kind as to not give the two food poisoning you decided to try again today. This time they actually turned out pretty good, your best set of tamales you have made so far. You just hope they like it as well. 

As you approach Diaz’s Garage with the container of tamales, Sean looks up from his work and smiles. “Hey, you’re back! And you brought food?” Yes, you’re back again. You just really couldn’t help yourself and well the food was really just an excuse to come over without any car trouble. 

“Just a little something to say thanks,” you reply, holding up the container. “I hope you like tamales.”

Sean’s eyes light up, and he calls out to Daniel. “Hey, Daniel! Come over here. Our friend brought us some tamales.” You can’t help but smile as he calls you ‘their friend’. As sad as it sounds but you haven’t had a real friend since you decided to move here and this encounter just made you so fucking happy. Daniel jogs over, a wide grin on his face. “Awesome! I love tamales.”

You all sit down on a bench outside the garage, sharing the meal and enjoying the pleasant afternoon. Daniel takes a big bite of a tamale and sighs contentedly. “These are amazing! Where did you learn to make them?” You smile, pleased by his enthusiasm. “Oh, When I moved here my Neighbors welcomed me with these. They were so good so the next day I had to go over and use my poor Spanish skills to ask the family how they made them and I’ve been perfecting the recipe ever since.”

Sean nods appreciatively. “Well, you’ve definitely perfected it. These are some of the best tamales I’ve ever had.” You smile proudly at the praise and continue taking small bites. This was a good idea you thought to yourself as you watched Daniel shoving tamale after tamale into his mouth. As you all eat, the conversation flows easily. You start by talking about the town and how you’ve been settling in.

“I’ve been really loving Puerto Lobos,” you say. “It’s so peaceful here, and the people are all so different back to where I am from. It’s almost as if they are living a completely different life here. How long have you two been here?” Sean glances at Daniel before answering. “We’ve been here for a couple of years now. We needed a fresh start, and our dad used to own this place.” Their reasoning for coming here sounded a tad sad and you decided not to ask about their dad. 

Daniel chimes in, his eyes lighting up. “Yeah, it’s been great. I’ve made some good friends at school, and the beach is awesome. Also, my Spanish has improved so much! Mr. Perez says I sound like a real native.”

You nod, encouraged by their openness. “I can see why you chose it. It’s a beautiful place to start over, but I wish school would have taught me better Spanish, else I wouldn’t be so lost here.”

Sean’s expression becomes more thoughtful. “It wasn’t easy at first, but we’ve found our rhythm. The garage has been a big part of that. It gives us stability. I do have to admit though without me speaking the language relatively well, I don’t think we would have survived that long.”

You can sense there’s more to their story, but you don’t press. Instead, you share a bit more about your own journey. “I moved here to escape some things back home. It was a tough decision, but I needed a change. I always wanted to visit Puerto Lobos. It seemed like the perfect place to find some peace so I decided why not move here for good? It is so different from Washington, but it’s a good difference.”

Daniel listens intently. “What did you do back home?”

“I worked in management for our family business,” you explain. “But it got too stressful. I needed a break from the fast pace of city life.” and from your family, but you didn’t say that out loud. Your family has been one of a kind and you just did not fit into their picture. Once you were a fully grown adult things seemed to change between you and your parents and they treated you more and more like a worker instead of a real family member. 

Sean nods in understanding. “I can relate. Puerto Lobos slows things down and running the garage keeps me busy but in a good way. Of course, sometimes it is hard work, but it’s nothing compared to working back in Seattle.” You nod understanding. This city is different, different from everything you ever experienced. Also since you decided that it is time for you to work full-time on your own as a writer, Puerto Lobos has been giving you more ideas and motivation than you had in years. Your family disapproves of your love for writing and always told you how you would end up on the street because ‘No one is going to read those silly little stories of yours.’ But they are wrong. You wished you could have stayed to prove them wrong, but that wouldn’t have been worth the drama and exhaustion. 

The conversation shifts to lighter topics, and Daniel starts talking about a project he’s working on for school. “I’m building a model of an engine. Sean’s been helping me with the technical stuff.”

“That sounds amazing,” you say. “I’d love to see it when you’re done.”

Daniel beams with pride. “You can help too if you want. It’s always more fun with more people.” You really are not an expert in that field, but how hard can it be to help that boy with his school project? “I’d love to help, but be warned I think there is a good reason why my engine sounds like crap. Though… maybe I can learn some things as well and in zero time I will be able to fix my car on my own.” Sean laughed at your words, shaking his head. Suddenly there comes an idea to your mind. 

“Actually since you guys already helped me out so much, how about I help you out as well sometimes? You know, I could assist with some of the business aspects.” You offer and Sean seems to be thinking about your offer for a second. “Honestly that wouldn’t be too bad, it would help us a lot since usually Daniel helps me keep track of that stuff, though neither of us is expertise in that field and my little brother could focus more on school stuff.” Daniel sighs and almost looks like he is pouting. “I’d rather work my ass off in the garage all day instead of doing homework.” Sean chuckles lightly and pads his brother on his chest. “Yeah well little bro, you can work plenty in the shop once you’re done with school. And we have been on the lookout for help for quite some while now, the shop is getting busier every day and it gets harder doing all of that on our own. I have been focusing on the mechanical side of things way too much, I could definitely use some help with the business side of things.” “Okay, then it is set. If you want to, I can prepare some stuff at home and come back tomorrow so we can go over it together.” Of course that would be way more work for you and maybe you also have to slow down the writing, but honestly, you are allowed to do that and a second job is not doing you any harm. 

The afternoon slips away as you share some more stories and laughter. Sean and Daniel’s openness makes you feel like you’ve found kindred spirits. As the sun starts to set, you realize that you’ve not only enjoyed the food and conversation but also the genuine connection with the Diaz brothers. authors note: Okay, so this was Chapter 2 of New Beginnings! I hope you guys enjoyed it :) Btw. The first few chapters are probably going to be a bit shorter to set the story right! But since I want this to be pretty slow-burn, it's necessary I hope you can forgive me hihi

Day 8 of NinjagoVDay2024

Angsty vs Wholesome AU

The moment I saw AU I thought of Cole being turned into the Great Devourer or at least begins resembling it after he’d be bitten. Took me a bit to find a good reference of GD! Cole and it turns out that the OG creator is on Tumblr as @/zaptrap (Idk if I should tag her or what but yeah, she's the OG)

I’d like to think Sam would begin turning into an Anacondrai because of other reasons (will be mentioned in my fic) but also caused by being bit too. I’d think she’d resemble the Anacondrai Serpent. Just to keep up the giant snake theme.

Meanwhile in the Wholesome AU, I just thought of Sam either having a normal life or she would’ve reached stardom like she wanted in her childhood dreams. Either way, Cole sneaks off to see her cause well how do you think the public would react to one of the ninja dating a celebrity?

Alright, alright, I caved.

After a slot opened up in me to be able to take on another show emotionally, I decided to invest in OwlHouse. I thought I would probably like it, but it won me over faster than I thought it would.

I’ve already watched a few episodes, but I realized that it might be more fun to do liveblogs, so here I am - with a liveblog...

I will be doing this episode by episode, and probably releasing them every once in a while. Everything will be under a cut, however, to save you all dash space.

Episode 1!!

Fair warning - this is technically not a ‘live’ blog, because I have already watched some of the show before deciding to do this, but I’ll still react to them to round things out.

Immediately, this reminds me of Little Witch Academia... Anyone? No? Only me? I feel like maybe I’m getting my wires crossed, but there HAD to have been some inspiration taken from there?

Oooh, okay, let’s extrapolate...

Lots of bones everywhere. I kinda love the aesthetic here - it’s gross and visceral, kind of like what Luz was making with her school projects. Yet in the middle of it all we have a rather clear gothic looking structure. Is this a power imbalance in the supposed kingdom?

The five circles of stained glass seem to perhaps indicate something like Hogwarts houses? Several different types of magic?

But Luz has no reason to freak out as much as she is - she LOVES weird stuff! Haha... No, I kid, I kid. I get it.

I love this landscape. Teeth or bones, or whatever they are, this is one of the more unique settings we’ve gotten, though maybe I’m prejudiced because I love body horror and bones. The darker orange and red themes fit really well here.

Ah, yes. That would have been my reaction as well, to be fair. Somehow I didn’t expect to see this guy so early on. I figured he would be a low stress early villain that got assimilated into the Found Family. Kinda psyched that he’s just there from the start.

....I’m just gonna presume this is all true and accept it at face value.

I love looking at background details, because like... you can tell the BG artists had fun. I particularly love how the 3 eyed toad doesn’t actually have any reward attached to her. Though the Knife Baby does intrigue me!

Confession - when I initially saw ads for this show, I expected Eda to be a villain, not a loveable middle aged witch aunt figure. I am shockingly even MORE drawn to her this way. I expected betrayal. I expected her to be a lowkey threat?? But no. She’s just wholesome in the way a solid raccoon is.

“Yeah, this just happens when you get older...”

If I had to pinpoint the exact moment this show won me over...... it would probably be this one.

I know it’s probably the wrong thing to focus on, but what is that insignia? Wings??? Like.... the kind OWLS HAVE?????

I’m really loving the landscape here. And those fireworks are... hmm... intricate?

Overall rating: I think this is a cute overall beginning. The prison break went hard! I enjoyed the characters and it kind of surprised me in a lot of ways. It definitely does a great job setting up a world with a lot more to explore while giving us a small taste of cool magic stuff and witchy battles. :)

he knows loss all too well—so he’ll understand and accept any reaction you choose to give. whether it’s crying, being numb, or distracting yourself with things...he’ll be there every step of the way with you.

at first he’ll be a little hesitant, because he’s not sure how you’ll react. he doesn’t want to lose you—he knows death can sometimes change a person forever. but when he sees that all you need is him next to you, he’ll immediately be at your side.

If you need to cry it out, he’ll hold you in his arms with your face buried in his chest. he’ll stay quiet and mumble words like “it’s okay babe, you can cry” or “I’m right here, it’s okay I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere”

telling someone he’s not going anywhere is a huge advancement for him, but he truly means it when he sees you in your state of mind. not because of pity—more like he can finally empathize with someone.

If you decide to go about your normal day, he’ll agree but look out for you all the time. If he sees you about to break down in public, he’ll carefully wrap an arm around your shoulder and guide the both of you to a room or corner where he’ll hug you tightly and let you express any emotions.

If you say stuff like “you don’t have to be here for me” or “you don’t have to do this, I’m troubling you a lot.”

he’ll immediately lift your chin, place his hands on your cheeks and kiss your lips. wrapping his arms around your waist he’d say, “but I don’t want to go anywhere. I want to be the one here for you.”

If you’re feeling numb or want to distract yourself with things, he’ll gladly take you places and try to cheer you up. it would be different tho—not his usual jokes that seem insensitive and careless. more like paying attention to what would make you laugh or smile. he just doesn’t want you to fall into a dark hole all by yourself.

If he sees you moping around or having depressive episodes, he’ll be a little hesitant on what to say. after a while, he’ll just come lay next to you and rest your chest on his chest.

pressing soft kisses on your hair and gently rubbing small circles on your back, he’d say, “you know...time doesn’t always heal. but after a while, when their face flashes across your mind—instead of remembering the sad things, you’ll remember the happy things.”

Chuuya

he’ll be a little unsure on what to do at first. not because he doesn’t understand (it’s quite the opposite, he does understand) but more like he’s never had to or wanted to comfort somebody so bad. he wants to do it the right way.

the moment he heard about the death, he raised his eyebrows and glanced at you. he immediately wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close to him. his face was buried in your neck and if you cried, he held you anyway.

he’ll let you cry as much as you want. chuuya would even wipe your tears and keep a box of tissues on hand if you can’t stop crying.

If you’re numb, he’ll understand that too. but he won’t let you get to the point where you don’t care about your life or your health. if he sees you always pretending to be happy, he’ll get a little pissed off (but only because he knows how much you’re hurting inside)

he’ll gently grab your face and kiss your forehead. he’ll say, “it’s okay. you don’t have to pretend when you’re with me. I can take your feelings. In fact, I want to know your feelings. I’ll be here with you.”

if you’re having a depressive episode and he sees you not eating, drinking water, or taking showers—he’ll definitely encourage you to take care of yourself. or more like, he’ll take care of you.

“alright, it’s time to get up.” he said, gently grabbing your arms to lift you off the bed.

“w-what?”

“what do you mean, what? I’m going to take a bath with you, and then we’re going to eat dinner, and then you’re going to brush your teeth and fall asleep in my arms.”

and he stays true to his words. in the bath, your back would pressed against his chest and he’ll be concentrating on massaging shampoo into your hair. he’ll wash your hair and massage your shoulders, wrapping his arms around you.

“we can do this more often, if you’d like.” he’d mumble, kissing your neck. he knows how hard it is for you to get up from bed and wake up in the morning.

TFAWS Ep 5: finally some good fucking ✨vindication✨

Scratch that rewind what I said- this is the best episode (maybe in comic book tv history). Closure, growth, and redemption 🙌 just when I was worried they wouldn’t be able to tie things up they fucking give me this 😩🤩👏✊🏽

Holy hell my poor heart died and ascended to the moon to hang out with Steve and Natasha. ✨Goddamn the mastery of storytelling in this episode is why I love the MCU so much ✨

The opening fight between Walker, Bucky, and Sam had me on the edge of my seat. Like in most fights you know the stakes are low because the main heroes always win but this fight... whew it was consequential and more personal than the civil war fight imo. I genuinely was worried about the outcome for Sam and Bucky physically and emotionally. Every beat was character driven! This was cathartic. 🙌 the stunt coordinators knocked it out of the park lovelovelove 💕.

I am SO glad that Sam went back to talk to isaiah. He needed to know the full story. He needed closure. I could ramble on and on but the writers made the points so much better than I could but just-

Steve did the exact same thing as Isaiah in the first avenger. He went behind enemy lines to rescue Bucky- without permission! He was a hero for it. And Isaiah was thrown in jail? The double standard is so frustrating

I think Isiah’s point that “no self respecting black man” would use the shield makes sense with his background and story. It makes me sick what was done to him. Things really haven’t changed 😞. At this point I honestly wasn’t sure what Sam was going to do. More later on about this-

OKEEEE the conversation between Sam and Bucky where they’re tossing the shield is great on so many levels 😍:

Physically the shield matches the dynamic of the convo. Someone makes a point and throws it. Someone accepts what that person said and catches the shield. Bucky physically offers the shield when he says “I’m sorry” and Sam accepts the shield AND the apology.

The difference between avenging and amending. I was surprised they even used that word bc it calls out the avengers for maybe not doing the emotional work involved in being a hero. Healing is part of the hero job now. #phase4

A small detail but as a person of color I valued it; when Bucky said I’m sorry Sam did not say “it’s okay” or “no worries” because he didn’t have to, I feel like as a POC I’m always making white people feel better and for once I’d like to be confident enough to just accept someone’s apology outright and know I deserve it.

Pivotal when Sam said “it doesn’t matter what Steve thought” at first I was like biiiihhh??! 😠 but he had a point. Both Sam and Bucky have been trying to do hold onto another person who is gone. They gotta heal but more importantly they have to find their own reasons to keep fighting.

It’s a heavy burden to be cap knowing all the shit that has come before but Sam is the only one who can make that decision to be or not to be. And he’s seen the alternative now. In life taking action and taking control of our situation is empowering but always harder than doing nothing. 10. recent reads: a few months ago i finished the lord of the rings by tolkien. shit was amazing, that man had INCREDIBLE worldbuilding skills. you wanna see a world so freaking detailed you can actually see it? tolkien thought about every little detail in his world and his characters and you can see his love in every word. smh. i’m still impressed but i have yet to pick up the next book lol.

hq boys and their part time jobs.

yet another unseries headcanon post made by yours truly! unlike my last one which you can find here, i won’t be involving every single major hq character so that’s just a heads up!! i can’t always envision stuff fully with every single person...

kageyama tobio: this boy thought that applying to work part-time at a sports shop would be fitting ‘cause of his love for volleyball, completely unaware that this would involve way too much social interaction and tolerance???? like he thought he’d just have to look like someone who does sports and occasionally restock yoga mats but these loud ass kids are coming up to him asking for this that and the other for sports he’s never heard of. suddenly he regrets the entire thing. plus, he has no idea how to use the cash register and it’s his worse nightmare to ring up items without wanting to stomp a hole into it to get the customer’s change.

hinata shoyo: shoyo went straight for the pet shelter because he’s in love with playing with the little puppies. this boy will full on roll around with them, stuff them under his shirt so their heads poke out and just.. intergrate and become one of them... the doggies love him so much n always clamber to sit on his lap because hinata treats them with so much love and kindness!! customers looking for pets often joke about taking him home bc he’s just as excitable and friendly as the actual dogs. he’s also really good at convincing people on the fence to get a pet and explaining their individual personalities because he knows them so well :(

nishinoya yuu: he said: supermarket assistant so he could ride around on the carts, intimidates literally every customer with his ungodly enthusiasm but is determined to help EVERYONE, he’ll run around the store taking people where they need to go but only if he actually remembers where they’re situated. otherwise this boy is like “yeah they’re just... that way.” and bolts in the other direction. gets along with all his colleagues and tells them all about his tournaments with karasuno. he’s not the star employee but it wouldn’t be the same w out him.. often asks the manager if he can taste test the market’s pastry section to which he is rejected every single time.

tanaka ryuu: he’s convinced working in his local gym was him in his element, he wears that tag thing like a badge of honour and just walks around showing people he works there instead of actually doing his job??? he’s also overly enthusiastic and will sometimes cheer on the people working out as if he’s some kind of zealous personal trainer and everybody is like “literally how old is this guy??” he’s surprisingly awesome at reception duty because he’s always chatting to regulars about how they’re doing... the practical side like schedules and paperwork he leaves for someone else, everyone just puts up with him bc he’s a mood setter.

sugawara koushi: don’t get me started on this boy as a teacher’s assistant, like he helps little kids out with their work, tidies up the class during their break times and reads them stories?? he’s THAT senior boy who’s the biggest sweetheart and seeing him handle kids so well is like ... does he want some of his own ?? i’d like to offer my expertise he’s always got a smile on his face, gets along with all the staff much older than him, he’s like this perfect boy they all dote on and he gets super flustered saying he just really likes helping out the children and making them smile. often brings them little snacks too and they all call him big brother BYE.

tsukkishima kei: he does some low-key shit that’s kinda wholesome like working with the eldery or tutoring kids but prefers for literally nobody to know about it because anything he does outside of school is his business. he does it because it’s good pay, there’s not much else to it. if anybody found out he’d be super irritated tbh it’s just an invasion of privacy to him but eventually wouldn’t care because every kid is getting part-time jobs these days.

oikawa tooru: bye he’s THAT guy who got his job at a retail store because he’s pretty. like he has no real interest in clothes or anything but he takes the job as a place to validate himself when girls come up to him purposefully to flirt. he’s winking and laughing with them and also NOT actually doing his job but he brings in customers so at least he’s somewhat useful. doesn’t know how to fold clothes or hang stuff on hangers properly for shit and everyone lowkey wants to kick his ass but he’s actually very friendly and outgoing even if he has no clue what he’s doing. keeps asking if bra sizes come in small, medium and large and everyone just tells him to shut up.

iwaizumi hajime: when picking a job he was like “well what am i good at?” and went from there. he ended up as the local pool’s weekend lifeguard because he had the qualifications and time. again, everyone his age just tries to hit on him and he’s annoyed because it distracts him from the actual purpose of his job. he takes it seriously and impresses his colleagues with his swimming talent and knowledge on first aid. iwaizumi lowkey scares the little kids and they’re kind of afraid to ask him for help so he’s been working on looking a little more friendly.

kuroo tetsurou: kuroo as a tennis instructor assistant or just something sporty other than volleyball because he’s a multi-talented king?? like he’s not a professional by any means but he helps out the youth club and gets along with kids a few years younger than him. fills in for refs at tournaments, makes sure equipment is safe to use and is SUPER good at cheering club goers up when they lose or fail or can’t seem to do it correctly. he often refers to his experiences as nekoma’s captain to relate to them and they really admire his resilience and ask him to tell them more stories!!

kenma kozume: had to be dragged out to do a part-time job. was absolutely against the thought of it until hinata mentioned a friend of his who’d moved to the prefecture near kenma got a job at this new game shop. he was like fine and applied. he just kinda sat and people asked him questions about the games but he refused to do any further socialisation or actual grunt work like shelving, he quit pretty soon after, he just wanted the money to buy a game he ended up purchasing on his way out lmaoo

bokuto koutarou: he was dead set on having a volleyball related job, fukurodani have a club for junior players from all over the city to come and practice together. he was like?!? “and nobody told me??” he’s perfect for it as the captain and ends up as a secondary coach. he shows off A LOT and like kuroo, encourages the kids when they’re down. except kuroo is a more sit down, hand on shoulder, casual talk kind of guy. bokuto gets ridiculously sentimental and tells them dramatically about his lowest memories as captain when fukurodani lost and the kids are genuinely as emotional because of he way he tells it??? idk but they love him and he’s a ball of passion that keeps them going.

akaashi keiji: we are talking pretty waiter at a local gormet restaurant that gets tipped SO MUCH for his true professionalism. knows how to handle every situation with ease and is super calm, doesn’t care at all if someone from his school is there. he’s really just chasing that bag and he’s doing it well. bokuto often picks him up after his shifts so they can do stuff together but akaashi requests it be something calming since he’s tired after work... bokuto is like,, “so no to rock-climbing? alright i’ll reschedule..” the other waiters lowkey HATE the fact he gets tipped so well and they try and figure out his secrets. he has none. he’s just good at his job. i could see kiyoko working a similar job or somewhere lowkey like a flourist or bakery. she’s equally as professional and admired.

ushijima wakatoshi: ANY JOB. give this man any job and he’ll be able to carry it out like he’s been doing it since he popped out the womb. often mistaken for a grown adult so he gets jobs pretty easily? very very professional and aims to do everything perfectly. i think he’d also prefer a vb related job just like bokuto but something that could really get him somewhere big, smth to do with olympics like a paid internship for them .. can you even intern for the olympics lmao?? maybe something for the japanese team. it’s a lot of work to balance school & intern life but he’s very comitted and knows it’ll benefit him in the future. (kageyama was fuming when he found out he could have done that instead of his current gig).

tendou satori: has a job he’s very under-qualified for but somehow pulls off. he’s chilling at the hospital or law firm three times a week after classes or somewhere ridiculous but he’s doing just fine!! doesn’t actually do professional work n helps with small things but it impresses the hell out of everybody he tells, has no interest in persuing those careers but it’s fun for him, he gets paid VERY well for a boy his age and his personality creates a nice, talkative atmosphere in these seemingly tense environments.

miya atsumu / osamu: they both work at a café for novelty because they’re these handsome, athletic twins and it’s a thing that brings people in. they do a lot of fan service stuff and osamu is EXCELLENT like he was made for this job but atsumu is awful at keeping his cool. osamu will be chatting up customers, trying to persuade them to order more and atsumu is having a heated tustle with the coffee machine that’s broken down for the third time that day and it really ruins the magic osamu is trying to create. atsumu has probably sworn loudly. has probably almost been fired. he’s bad at playing along and flirting because he literally just wants them to leave so he can sit down lmao. osamu uses the pastries in the café as inspiration for his own at-home baking fiascos because it’s a stress-reliving hobby.

terushima yuji: he’s that boy in shoe shops that tries to sell you sneakers and he knows literally everything about them even when you really didn’t ask... looking to hit on girls that come in because shoe knowledge is obviously very sexy! alternatively you might catch him in a tattoo shop or sumn real appearance based and he definitely remembers all the regulars and greets them like they’re close friends, we’re talking inside jokes. always seems to know what tattoo people are looking to get purely based on their appearance and initial impression...

the list of unemployed:

yachi: too scared to do ANY job that requires interaction, she’s plagued by it.

hoshiumi: fired for picking too many fights with customers.

kyotani: EVEN WORSE THAN HOSHIUMI though he was strangely very efficient at paperwork.

suna: quit on the first day because it wasn’t what he expected and he doesn’t care about money that much.

lev: his family are like.... rich?? n nobody really expected it but he’s like yeah i really do not need one of those lmao.

yamaguchi: broke things, spilt things, smashed things. he really was trying his best..

aone: intimidated customers too much so they let him go (he was just STANDING THERE.. he deserved better).

sakusa: local venues are filthy, ushijima got the internship spot, no other job interests him enough to persue.
