i had fun with the voice lines aaah but it might have some changes when i’m done with the groovy (and i’ll properly put her in an actual card template)

also slight lore drop from one of the voice lines: yuusha has experience hosting formal parties pre-twst. basically she just locks in (a bit too heavily) when she has hosting duties.

anyways i was just messing around a lot with the outfit design and the colors hgsdfjds

i tried my best making her purple color scheme agree with the limited color palette and i think it worked out??? idk idk--

also the cape was supposed to have patterns similar to the ceremonial robes so as to label her as someone from nrc.

i wanted to include a LOT more ruffles too but i had no patience for lining all of that 🤧

I really want to start my own legacy challenge and post it here! But idk how to make it look as pretty and as good as you, do you have any tips?

Nonny, first and foremost, thank you! 🥰

While I am usually very happy with the way my posts look now, it wasn’t always that way, and I think the biggest part of this is the process. If you go back and look at my early story posts (and even before that, to my first builds that I posted here) you’ll see that the style and techniques I used then are very different than what I do now.

All too often I find simblrs (and creators in general) will delete or redo their early work. As a perfectionist myself I totally get and share that instinct, but simultaneously I think that looking back helps remind me that it takes practice and discovery that’s still ongoing. I’ll try to help with a few tips I’ve learned along the way, but I truly don’t think there’s any better answer than trial and error!

1. Camera tips and tricks:

First and foremost, always take your photos in tab mode. Even if it’s just gameplay shots, this allows you to get creative with angles and go closer/further away for those detail shots or sweeping landscape ones. On that note, don’t be afraid to take the same photo from multiple angles so that you can look back at them and choose the best one.

Something I read very early on that helped me was to zoom in as close as possible to the shot that you want, and then back away using the S key rather than zoom out. Likewise, avoid zooming in and out and then in again in tab mode, as it can cause distortion in the background. However, there are also times when that distant background looks great, so this is just a good place to start that you can play around with over time. And have fun! Get those detail shots and low angles and things that might not seem like the most obvious shot but somehow work really well.

2. Take time on the details:

Now this is an overarching one because I mean all the details, from the world, to the builds, to interior decorating, to sim details, to their outfits. Now you may only enjoy a handful of these, and by no means do you have to jump in with all of them at once. For me, I really enjoy interior decorating so I put a lot of energy into my sets, that way when I go to take photos the backdrop work is already done. I really try to ensure that the backgrounds of photos are never empty (which is sometimes just clever angles) so this goes a long way to making a post look good and gives the viewer lots of little cues about the sims in the scene.

Likewise, I spend a lot of time on sims outfits. Usually this is in tangent with their personality and where they are in their story, but you’ll also notice small things like characters will not always be wearing shoes at home or an apron/hat will be taken off at an appropriate point in the scene. Small details like this ground a character in their setting and help relate your writing and/or unwritten details to the viewer.

3. Editing:

This is one that I think is really mutable to your personal tastes and goals. I’ve seen some simmers really go above and beyond with unique templates or text while others (ahem, me) will just brighten up or increase the contrast of a shot. I know others will often use photoshop for more detailed editing, but I stick with an online service just to make the brightness and colors pop. Even still, those few extra steps can really balance out the in-game lighting or make a photo even more pleasing to look at, so I really recommend finding something you like if aesthetics are important to you.

4. All the extra things:

Simmers, I think you already know where I’m going with this. Sometimes this game isn’t exactly the most pleasing to look at, so things like lighting mods, swre, or reshade really help you as a creator and can take your screens to the next level. As I’m sure y’all know by now I fought the reshade train for a long time, and even still I can see how this process can be over involved or overwhelming; however I won’t deny that the addition of it to my game is by far the biggest step I’ve taken to making my photos look as good as they currently do, and it has saved me a lot of time on manually editing. But I do not think it’s by any means necessary, and lighting mods are a good place to start for these in-game enhancers.

5. Trust the process

Yes, I’m ending this ramble by reiterating the point I stated at the beginning. I cannot stress enough that it takes time and practice to find your style and the techniques that work for you. I would really encourage you to go back to this post compared to recent ones and look at how different the camera angles and ideas behind the shots are. Changing is okay! Find what you’re really excited about in your images (which for me, y’all may be able to tell from the beginning, was the outfits and set design) and really enjoy that process. It comes through in the images, I promise!

Most of all, don’t feel like you have to perfect your visuals before you start posting here. Community feedback and just the joy of engaging can be such a motivator to continue, and quite honestly, if there is a place to grow your style and content as you go it’s here. People are so willing to help and answer questions as you encounter new roadblocks or ideas, and so starting that network and gathering that inspiration is pivotal to making your content look the way you want it to.

Sometimes what people wear as pajamas is a weird indicator of personality so... What’s your opinion on their pajamas?

it took less than a second for me to go “how do pjs indicate personaliOhhh wait yeah that does make sense” as I realized I was folding up multiple adult size cartoon character onesies for my own pajama drawer. let’s get into it BUT UH DISCLAIMER i mostly talk about patterns in canon i’ve noticed with just… tiny personal thoughts in here. less headcanons more breakdown. NOW let’s get into it

lupin:

two modes-- soft, fuzzy button up set, or just his underwear. somewhat depending on weather, DEFINITELY depending on mood. i mean you don't wanna get COLD and he got those nice purple heart pajamas with an actual, legal purchase, so it'd be stupid to waste them ALL the time!

there could be a joke here about how he’d probably just sleep naked if the gang weren’t constantly groaning in annoyance, throwing pillows at him begging him to put on some damn pants, but the reality is… he can’t really sleep like that. it’s uncomfy :( he tried :) but it’s uncomfy :(

jigen:

you aren't ready for this. or you are. you likely are, given i had to choose between like 3 different pictures i have of him in fits like this

and i’m dead serious. big ass ankle length nightgown with matching cap. no, really. these are his actual pajamas. they’re comfy to him. i can’t fathom why, maybe the fabric is just equal parts breathable and warm, maybe he did this once for the bit and realized it was the best sleep he ever had, WHATEVER, these are his pajamas, and no amount of teasing by now will stop him from changing into these before going to bed

i have to respect them for committing to this bit, because you think, oh, he’s the coolest. he wouldn’t have lame pajamas. no he does. very lame. hilariously so. arose such a clatter type shit. nighty night scrooge

now, she would LIKE to say big, fluffy, fancy nightgown… but the texture feels bad scrubbing against your skin all night, so she usually just opts for a simpler nightgown. or, like lupin, just her underwear. obvious fanservice aside she’s clearly comfy bundled up like that so you show em how its done fujiko

no matter how cold it gets, she can never really sleep in pajama pants. shorts, maybe, but anything that reaches past her knees feels restrictive, hence why she normally just goes for the nightgown. she doesn’t even kick in her sleep idk why it’s such a big deal!

i had to look through a bunch of stuff because i was like. wtf. what DOES he wear to bed. he can’t just be wearing his usual clothes all day and night, it would be uncomfortable. so i’ve come to the conclusion that these virtually identical clothes here are just made of a softer material, designated as goemon’s jammies

or he just. sleeps in his underwear. it really is comfsorry the mental image of the camera panning across three beds where they’re sleeping in their underwear vs jigen still rocking the victorian fit is killing me a bit

have you noticed he sleeps with his hat on more than jigen does. isn’t that fucked. jigen has a special sleeping hat but the alleged NON-hat-obsessed guy is the one sleeping in it. due to his… hectic routine, he never really has a default type of pjs. either he just sleeps in what he was already wearing (c’mon, man) or he’s packed like, some pajama pants, or (take another shot because this series loves this gag) just hits the hay in the heart print boxers. jigen really is a scientific outlier.

USUALLY if he’s bothering to actually change, it’s just the undershirt he’s already got on and some comfy pants, the kind you can get at like walmart for five bucks, so if he’s forgotten to bring them it’s no biggie. damn anon was right this IS a personality indicator!

BONUS YATA!:

as we have oft discussed, yata is a man we have all met at one point in our lives. so, yata has the basic boring man pajamas. t-shirt that’s too big for him but he forgot to return it, and seasonal pajama pants. the pants always seem to mismatch the season, he wore the snowflake ones during summer, and now he’s wearing the halloween ones in winter?

the shirt itself is also mundanely mysterious. nobody can really place the logo on it, and he doesn’t really remember where he got it from either. it doesn’t bother him too much until it’s pointed out to him

Disco Elysium - rigged blender models

In today’s episode of ‘Dee does things out of curiosity’, after about one week of extreme head scratching and tutorial googling I finally figured out how to export these rigged bad boys into blender!

More info, download, and all that jazz under the cut!

First of all, I chucked them into this folder:

I haven’t managed to export all of the models well, but I’ll keep trying and I’ll add more to the folder later. Some of them just got distorted no matter what and some of them just clip through their clothes a lot (looking at you, Klaasje), so that’ll take a while to fix, because I’m still a blender noob. (no matter how hard I tried, they couldn’t get fixed by just staring angrily at them 😔)

Also, I couldn’t figure out how to export Harry’s clothes, but he has 3 versions anyway (I had to edit the clothed ones so they don’t clip, though).

How to use them:

So, every file has the model (blender) file and the textures. You can just open the file with blender.

You should be in Pose mode, but if you’re not, you can change it in this corner.

You see that the model has these ‘spikes’. These are the joints that move the body parts. Some of these spikes are quite hard to see and click on, sometimes you have to turn the view or go closer (inside) the character model. Some models have some extra spikes (Harry’s tie has separate spikes for whatever reason).

Click on a spike so it turns blue. If it doesn’t turn blue, you’re not in pose mode.

Hit the R (rotate) button, and move your mouse.

Whee, it moves! Click again to release the rotation. You have to turn the view to be able to rotate the joints in certain ways. Just keep poking at it until you get familiar with it.

If you want to move your whole model, select the whole thing, then hit G (grab?) and you can just move it around. Or rotate it with R. Or do whatever.

Some models come with multiple clothes (Kim) or accessories (also Kim), which you can swap / hide from view if you open the ‘hierarchy’ on the top right block, and hide / make visible with the eye and camera icons. You can also hide the spikes here.

I also included some extra textures to Harry (leopard bodysuit, a jacket and a shoe) and Kim (hardcore jacket) that work with these models, so you can swap them out in the Material Properties (please read the previous tutorial).

How to get more than one model into one blender file:

You have to open one of the blender files, then export the model in .fbx (File.../ Export.../ FBX). Then open the other file and import the thing you just exported (File.../ Import.../ FBX). Maybe there’s a better way, but it worked for me. 🤷‍♀️

If the textures show up wonky, you have to go back to Object mode, to Material properties, and change the Blend mode under Settings to Alpha clip (idk, that’s what worked for me).

And that’s basically it? You can just import more objects or clothes you extract, or more characters, or whatever, and have fun! I have no clue how to make good renders, but you can find tutorials about it *waves around* on the internet.

(you can do whatever you want with these models, no need to credit me, I didn’t do anything that other people can’t do lol)

Advanced: How to edit facial expressions:

You can have your models do *some* facial expressions by editing the models. You can go to Edit mode and move their face around.

Just make sure you have this Toggle X-Ray mode on, unless if you move the vertexes you’ll get holes in the model.

Super advanced: How to export the rigged models from the game:

Here are some pointers if you want to experiment with this.

First of all, make sure you read my previous tutorial about the basics of extracting.

You have to export the Animator with an Animation Clip that belongs to it, unless it’ll get distorted. Sometimes they get distorted anyway. It’s a guessing game, really.

Import the exported .fbx to blender.

If all you see is a lot of black lines, you have to follow this step to remove the empties. It’ll remove most of the black lines. (they’re not visible if you do a render anyway)

Select the whole thing, go to Pose mode. Hit Pose.../ Clear Transform... / All. That’ll remove whatever pose it might’ve exported with, and you’ll get the default... T-pose? It’s not really a T-pose. Figures!

Go to Object mode, select the whole thing, and scale it to x100 to every direction. You need to do this because all the other exported stuff is 100x larger than the rigged models. Also, it’s a better size to work with in general.

If you change to the Viewport Shading / Material preview mode, you’ll see that the textures are wonky. You have to go to Material properties, and change the Blend mode under Settings to Alpha clip (idk, that’s what worked for me).

If the exported model has an out of body experience, you have to select the rig and the model one by one and move them to origin. You might have to rotate them too to make them line up / face forward.

And that’s basically it? You might have to edit some of the models if they clip through their clothes.

Okay another thought! While working on the Trial 2 MVs, you think the prisoners get to watch everyone's first MVs? Like, maybe praise how each video looks ("Oh my gosh, Amane you look amazing!"), making comments with Jackalope's artistic choices (Shidou's flower mummy) and how stiff some of the prisoners look ("Fuuta you're walking like a tinman." "Shut up!"), some singing along to songs they've overheard earlier (Kotoko singing Weakness), and...er...shirtless Mikoto ("Amane don't look!"). Idk, this makes their filming for the next MVs sound more fun as they hang out.

Hello again!! omg Thank You for sharing once again, I’m obsessed with that 🥺🥺🥺 That's so wonderful picturing a little movie night... (And yes, feel free to pick a name :D else I will dub thee 🎬 next time given the theme lmao)

Okay so my original idea was that those first videos were actually watched on the down-low. There were a few days of nothing going on while the prisoners debriefed, made plans, and communicated their song ideas to the writers to start working with. (Minor detail but I think they’re cut off from the world still, no internet access though they can exchange a few messages/visits with family). They do, however, get access to the others’ T1 videos on their phones/ facility computers. Everyone gave permission to watch them, but there’s a bit of hesitancy. They haven’t started filming their new videos yet, so no one has gotten a look that deep into anyone else’s hearts. Just because they’re closer in this au doesn’t make them better communicators -- there’s still a lot that’s been left unsaid regarding near-murders and their true selves. So they only watch them in secret out of respect.

Haruka hides under the covers to watch After Pain on loop late into the night (going “she’s just like me fr”). Fuuta doesn’t care much for the others’ songs but tries to decipher the crimes as best as he can. He probably gets one stuck in his head the next few days that he finds really embarrassing. Mahiru gets very emotional over the other lovers, doing a poor job of hiding her sympathy toward Yuno, Shidou, and Kazui in the following days. Kazui is embarrassed to watch Throw Down so often, but Shidou is such a subtle man and it’s nice to see a more open side to him (who admits to lying as well). Amane takes a while to watch them -- they’re videos supporting murder and sin, after all -- but once she convinces herself it’s to help the experiment, she allows herself to enjoy  them. Kotoko does the same as Fuuta but jumps straight into Fandom Mode and starts taking notes and analyzing the others’ videos. She keeps a secret folder on her phone of theories and symbolism and screenshots for reference. 

HOWEVER

You have opened my eyes to Milgram Movie Night 👁️👁️

Everyone realizes they’re going to need to get comfortable with a lot of personal info really quickly, since T2 filming starts in a few days. Rather than Jackalope’s suggestion of undergoing a painful group circle talk, they go with Mikoto’s idea to all sit down to watch the videos together. This keeps the atmosphere up while they watch, allowing for many compliments and encouragement. It also lets the singer defend things in their video if they see fit, though most let it speak for itself. (Fuuta: “ah, back when I was a menace online.” “You’re still like that Fuuta.” “I’m a changed man!” “You got one guilty verdict and nothing’s even happened yet.”)

I love all of those reactions so much ahhhh! Amane getting showered in compliments like she deserves. Honestly, all of them getting showered in complements because it's what they deserve ;-; Playful teasing getting thrown around for everyone. Not even Jackalope is safe from their heckling (see: Throw Down flower person), and he's not even there to defend himself. There’s lots of blushing and eye covering during MeMe. And a singalong aspect!! I don’t know I didn’t think to incorporate that into the fic so far -- there’s nothing quite like heckling your friend onstage by echoing their lines really loud from the wings asdfsdfsd. Mikoto recognizes the video game from Fuuta’s and makes his whole day. Mahiru and Shidou realize they have both flowers and food in common, and get to talking. All at once, everything clicks into place for why Amane hated Shidou him so much.

I'm also realizing Kazui would have a Moment TM while seeing all the prisoners talking so comfortably about their deepest selves and struggles. I don't think he'd break down and open up just yet, but I bet it's be a pretty big change of heart for him to see such honesty/vulnerability...

Plus, most of my original ideas can still stand after the fact! There's no shame in seeing too much personal info about another prisoner, the only shame comes from just how many time the video was looped in private lmao

i was going to type out a huge post about the stage since i snuck in one last full watch before it went away but tumblr killed my post as i was making it and i don’t feel like making another one lol

so new encounter thoughts: clifnotes version!!!!! it’s fitting bc that’s what this stage was anyway lol

i enjoyed myself!!!!! i wasn’t disappointed by any performances, tho since i was ride or die for akira ichiro and ayukawa jakurai, i felt those losses keenly lol. i was also surprised how much i felt like i was missing aramaki sasara watching this play lol. there were some changes to the origin stories, ofc lol, but the stage has always had superior bb takes so i really appreciate them changing ichiro’s more shallow dismissal of his bros in canon to him being scared for them after what happened with samatoki and chuuoku. it’s his biggest conflict in these battles so i appreciate them making it a primary focus

i read a tweet from a fan idk who they originally stanned but said they were considering becoming a hama lady after the stage and abso-fcking-lutely LOL uehara-san is incredible as samatoki, yuki-san can also inspire the masses with his looks and dancing and flow and tho stage rio didn’t have much presence in the play, him opening his heart to samatoki thru their battle and then teaming up with the both of them after fighting together is a great slight change to their origin story

*slams thru the wall like the kool aid man* AND THE NEW BAT HAIYUU ARE ACTUALLY MAGNIFICENT like backwards order since i have Things to say about nakanishi kuukou lol but nakatsuka-san’s hitoya is very cool!!!! his voice envokes almost the same amount of hype takeuchi-san’s voice does for me, like it’s deep and rough when he’s going and it’s sooooooo good. stage hitoya in the legends era cared for jyushi certainly, but i don’t think he flat out babied jyushi as much as he did in new encounter like my god lmao. it might be more indicative of the difference between actor’s personalities lol and i suppose hitoya did try to get kuukou to lighten up on jyushi when they first got started. also, there was this look he gave kuukou when kuukou started to goad him into being on his team that exuded cool charisma i think nakatsuka-san might be another actor too cool for hitoya LOL

i didn’t think it was possible for a jyushi to be even more baby than daigo-san’s but goddamn i think sakayori-san managed it LOL and again i do think some of that is bc of the source material they were adapting. i saw reports that new encounter jyushi was kinda spoiled by his team and i could see the undercurrents of that in the way kuukou would pat his back when getting up or the way jyushi would lean into hitoya and hitoya would actually wrap an arm around him lol. but i’m not complaining ITS CUTE. sakayori-san’s silhouette is so crazy like his build i think is exactly the way i envisioned jyushi’s so i kept vibrating out of my seat whenever he did a flourish and i got to see his figure lmao. i saw a report commenting that he needed to work on his vkei mode voice bc it was hard to differentiate and maybe???? idk i could tell the difference just fine, even if his voices don’t have as much of a gap as sakakihara-san or daigo-san’s

i want to throw up out of excitement thinking about nakanishi kuukou which is how i know he’s officially part of the kuukou brainrot LOL he’s kuukou!!!!!! he is so purely kuukou that everything i feel about kuukou is pushed onto him and i feel like i should apologise rn bc that comes with a heaping dose of objectification!!!!!! but it’s chill!!!!!!! *kicks down a wall* HES GOT MUSCLE ON HIS TINY FRAME!!!!!!!!!!!! like when he gets going going, that jacket starts slipping off and the camera caught just the right angle and lighting to show the contours on his arm muscles and i started yelling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thick neck thick calves thick arms HES BUFF!!!!!!! BLESS NAKANISHI-SAN!!!!! and thankfully it’s not for the aesthetic like he’s athletic asf too with jump kicks backflips air somersaults and the like. he is probably the best person to have gotten the role after someone like hirono-san, whose kuukou has shaped the character so thoroughly that even in this new stage, direction choices were made to preserve the hype his kuukou envokes. if the writing on nakanishi kuukou stays the course, it’d honestly be a bonus to have that extra hype kuukou lol. and on that note

I DONT HATE STAGE KUUKOU WRITING LOL🙌🙌🙌

now it’s just an origin story so there’s plenty of time for shit to go awry but rn i’m feeling massively satisfied lol. there were some lines that were raising my hackles but frfr??? that’s just me being sensitive after all these years lol it’s fine. no nod to kuukou’s history with ichiro but tbh i don’t come to the stage for that lol but it made me think of the complaint that nagosaka’s get together story felt rushed compared to the other divisions. and they were lol but i’m not sure if that’s the stage’s fault or the source material. on bat’s side, bc they formed nagosaka alongside the og teams in the stage, ramuda’s development thru bat got axed in favour of jyushi falling for rei’s scam that brought dh together. it’s a choice that further isolates nagosaka so while within the stage narrative it makes sense (does jyushi’s character a disservice tho), it kinda annoys me thinking about the long term lol but it’s probably not going to matter in the long term either so ultimately it’s fine. i guess. maybe lol

one last nakanishi-san ramble and i’m done lol but that fanservice part really showed off his charm lol like when he rolled up on some fans arms spread wide and demanding their ears and attention!!!!!! 😫😫😫😫🙏🙏🙏🙏 and as he was heading back on stage, there was a lone bat fan along that aisle so he paused and leeeeeeeeaned back into that backtrack and flashed the bat hand sign at her and i couldn’t stop my unholy noises even if i tried he’s so cute omfg help he’s adorable like actually 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

hello!! i don’t know if you remember but i sent you an ask months ago about the best place to travel/has good food, and i’m happy to announce that i took the leap and my application for study abroad has been accepted! i am very nervous but your posts about traveling inspired me. do you have any tips for going to a foreign country?

Ahh well tbh without knowing where you're going most of my travel tips will be a bit generic, and also, my trips are definitely never as long as a study abroad would be so the stuff I do for those might not apply either.

That being said, research if the country you're staying in will have your medication/skincare/beauty products etc., and stock up if they don't. You can easily buy things like new clothes and food, but if you have specific products you like they can be hard to come by! Medication especially, there is nothing worse than being sick in a foreign country where you can't read the language and don't know the names of any pharmacies. Also some countries won't let you take certain medication in, even prescribed - for ex, Japan doesn't let anyone take in ADHD meds. Not even with a prescription and a letter of medical necessity.

Know where/how to get to your country's embassy in the country you'll be in. This is mainly if you're not staying in the capital where the embassies normally are, and especially useful if you're going to be in the country for a while. Be prepared to just go directly if you run into any issues, because reaching out via phone or email is basically useless. They are usually quite helpful though. I had to reverse-course from Krabi and fly back to Bangkok to get an emergency passport in the middle of one of my trips - I thought it would be a stressful disaster, but I had it sorted out within a few hours. I couldn't find ANY information on what to do online, and they weren't answering their phones, so I just walked up and they let me cut the line as a citizen and then walked me through all the forms and stuff and had an emergency passport for me by lunch.

Depending on what kind of phone you have, you can download Airlo, which is a live saver for phone plans. It's data only, but it's a super simple to use and download e-sim where you can even get regional e-sims that will work in over 30+ countries. It's so helpful if you plan on traveling around.

And idk how old you are or where you're from, but having a credit card and debit account with access to online banking services is imperative. I've been able to travel to multiple countries without even using cash or a debit card and just using my credit card alone, but for a long stay that would be impossible. An online bank that you can transfer money/deposit money via taking a picture of a cheque on your phone is extremely convenient. Also having someone back home who has access to your accounts and can access them on your behalf is helpful. Depending on where you're going, you're probably also going to always need a lot of cash on hand. Europe is mostly card readers with tap to pay, but I've noticed SE Asia has a lot of 'cash only, or scan a qr-code and directly transfer to the merchant's bank account' merchants which is great if you live there but very inconvenient if you're a traveler who obviously doesn't have a bank account in the country. Japan is literally still COINS only in some places.

For transportation, look up what the taxi apps of choice are and make an account with them. Idk it's usually either Uber or Grab but sometimes I'll see a wildcard.

If the place you're going to has an entirely different written language, the Google Translate app is actually pretty darn spot on and the camera mode is very helpful. I've used it to translate my doujins before with difficult kanji 😂

And lots of Donnie interactions because Donnie is baby and my favorite so he will just be anywhere and everywhere and ya'll just have to deal with it.

Some additional information under the cut if you’re interested! Lots of it is just random train of thought about the characters, so bear with me, haha.

More on Raphael:

Raphael’s mode of invention is typically in mechanics. He really enjoys woodworking and metalworking. Definitely lives the "duct-tape can fix anything" lifestyle. Has a ‘workshop’ instead of a lab. Builds and crafts a lot of destructive things, but he also enjoys making gifts for his brothers. Only when he sees the need for it- and never when asked to. Knows some tech/coding for the bare basics of it, as it relates to mechanical engineering. But doesn’t enjoy the computer stuff as much as he likes the hands-on work part. Also has knowledge of some 3D modeling programs, which he and Donnie bond over 3D forms.

Raph is still very energetic, passionate, and easily angered. Definitely the most sporty out of the four of them. He also loves motorcycles (of course), and is working on his own custom bike. Other projects he is working on include: shield for Donnie’s back, ‘artillery camera’ (he refuses to expand on the meaning of this), lair defense mechanisms/traps, and a custom gaming controller for Leo. All in various stages. It’s hard for him to focus on only one thing at a time. And he enjoys tearing things apart almost more than putting them together, which often causes problems. 

Keeps his Sai on hand and finds them useful for tearing things apart when ‘on the job’. Although he has been reprimanded for doing so. Might also be working on a Swiss-army knife of sorts but with Kunai and Sai. Still a work in progress. If given the opportunity, he will drop the Sai and simply go ham with his fists.

Aside from his personality, I also just want to point out that the edge of his shell is meant to represent a cog-wheel. Because of the type of materials he works with. And I think it's clever. Raph's design is probably my favorite out of the four, which is saying a lot. Because I love all of them. But I'm just really super happy with how Raph's design came out, and like... how well it fits this character. It just turned out better than I could have imagined it. One of those magical moments, you know?

More on Michelangelo:

Mikey is a huge fan of skateboarding, but that’s as sporty as he gets really. Also a huge animal fan. He’s always finding stray creatures to bring home and nurse back to health. He is also a huge prankster, in the best and worst ways. Likes to keep his family guessing. Acts all secretive on purpose just to confuse and or piss people off (Most specifically, Leo). Psychological warfare is the name of the game for Mikey.

He likes throwing tags around the city, but he only really has his own signature perfected. He wouldn’t call himself an artist. He just learns the basics of things to get done what he wants to do. If he did delve into art, he would probably stick with paints and spray. Loves food and eating, although his brothers would say he has terrible taste. (Think shaggy vibes.)

This kid would literally do anything for his brothers. He pretends not to notice, but he can pick up on vibes pretty well. Knows when others are lying, sad, happy, etc. Which is part of what makes him a great leader. He uses those skills to his advantage to persuade people- a true face man. Nothing really gets under his skin but he is insecure about ONE thing: the markings on the back of his head. Which look like eyes or huge warts. Always wears his mask to cover them. Or a beanie if his mask isn’t available. Often finds funny/silly ways to cover his head if in a scenario without his hats. He’s pretty desperate to keep it hidden.

Mikey still uses the Nunchaku as his favored weapon. He is fast on his feet, but very loosey-goosey with everything. It makes his moves extremely hard to predict, which he likes. And, despite his casual demeanor, he has spent a lot of focus and dedication to the craft. So he’s really proud of his skill. Plus, it’s fun to confuse and startle people when he pulls them out and pretends like he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

On Mikey's design, I am in love with the colors. Covering up the spots on his head was very intentional, but it really is kind of a shame. Because I love how the green spots pop. But I used that same green for Donnie's design to keep things cohesive. I really love the pattern for male Baele Four-Eyed turtles. A sick lil' guy, really.

I want to make a separate post for their dynamic specifically, since I don't have my ideas drawn out just yet. But my immediately thoughts where "Dan and Arin from GameGrumps". So you can expect that the next post about these two will reference that. Obviously Mikey embodies Dan and Raph embodies Arin. It's going to be fantastic.

Such a weird outing, we went to Michaels which was a first for both of us, stores are still doing Black Friday sales but it’s midday on a Wednesday so yknow not a lot of people are at stores at that time. Still pretty busy though but not too bad

She nailed walking through the doorway and not sniffing the carpet, we did some back and forths along the exterior to get the store smells before entering and that seemed to help her a lot. She took about 30 seconds to just observe the environment and scent the air then clicked right in to work mode. The store was dead quiet which meant that every product falling, machine beeping, and cart clattering was random and startling- after the first two random sounds she realized it was normal and didn’t have any further issues/ losing focus due to clattering sudden sounds.

She was more unfocused than usual today, needed me to cue some leave it’s, pause walking to have her fix her position, and actually cue focus a couple of times. Each time I cued she immediately responded and adjusted as needed so I’m really happy about that, she was just very interested in the environment today. She was seeming a bit exciteable and like she had some pent up energy when we got started to I believe that’s what was making this so hard for her.

The bane of my existence today was a single red floor pom pom, food on the floor? Not an issue. People calling to her? Not an issue. Scented products and potpourris? Easy peasy. A single pom pom on the floor? WHAT IS THAT I GO SEE IT?????

She did great ignoring people, even the one who just reached down to greet her for no apparent reason. But this ONE person she really struggled with????? They were minding their own business and she just had such a hard time disengaging and ignoring them idk what it was with this person but man it was HARD for her.

They were restocking so she got some good practice ignoring things on the floor and in her walkway, sniffed one box then realized what the goal was and ignored the rest, plus got some practice for squeezing in tight spaces when we both can’t fit.

She held some downs while I looked for stuff really well, no issues with things crinkling above her head or me stepping a few steps away (I don’t like going further than that personally, people do dumb shit).

She successfully alerted to a 150hr which I ended up catching on camera (above) and then I did have to sit down while she did some DPT, she did all of that flawlessly.

Finished off with her holding a down while I did the self checkout which I’m super proud of her for bc it was busy, people were zooming by closely, and the worker monitoring the zone would pop by to gather peoples baskets so they popped right next to Yo to ask to take ours and Yoshi maintained her position well unfazed/ uninterested in the person. A little bit of her drifting forwards towards the exit which is a big area we’re working on but she is showing a lot of improvement there.

Just a weird day with a lot of things I wish were better but also? She literally did her job despite being pretty effin distracted today? So I don’t know how mad I can really be about that 😂

Also honestly wondering if maybe she wasn’t That Bad it’s just that my anxiety was high in a new place and PA is new for us so Imposter Syndrome. Realistically it wasn’t that bad I just know it can be better so yknow, we’ll work on making it better and figuring out what went wrong today.

okay so here are my initial thoughts:

1) im actually probably way too into the hunger games to be having this discussion lmfaoooo. im too into it, it’s too perfect, i love it too much. it is basically the pinnacle of all YA and i will fight literally everyone on that.

2) so with the first point in consideration, are we talking like a strict 1:1 AU? Setting it in New America/Panem? Districts with distinct specialities? Commentary about reality TV and modern entertainment entwined with like, the trauma that comes with war and trying to break free of generational curses and etc etc etc? RE: reality TV, I do think we could probably modernise that just a teeny weeny little, to include like, idk, some bullshit about how we’re always under constant surveillance and how we no longer have the time/option to be unavailable (because we’re so connected!). and since we’re like, apart of an actual fandom, maybe we could throw in some stuff about how our more privileged/sheltered audience members would engage in like, stan culture about all these dying kids, LOL. Shipping wars that ends bitterly because one half of the pairing like, idk, clubs the other to death LMAO. Real People Fanfic and the culture war that would come from that (people having a problem with RPF of the tributes bc they’re real people, but like also conveniently like… forgetting they’re real people who are being forced into a death match). would we throw in a line about Reader and/or Bakugou discovering self-insert Gamefic? lmao no wait i made myself snort, we’re absolutely keeping that LMAO. anyways im gonna cut myself off here bc otherwise i will ramble on, but that brings us to point numero-threeo—

3) i recently rewatched Battle Royale (a “random” class entered wins a yearly lottery then dumped on a remote island where they have three days to murder each other—all in the name of keep the status-quo, etc etc, also this is somehow a solution to sky-high unemployment rates etc etc etc.). if we kept the Quirks then like, you could spin it as a dystopian AU where people are fearful of quirks being too powerful, so then ya death-match children are pulled from hero classes and we make Reader end up in there accidentally or something, and oh no! they’re also quirkless (and defenceless hehe).

4) idk. i know i was like hehe i like war! but like, i don’t know how to emphasise how much i love the hunger games LMAO. and how that love sort of translates into the same fierceness i feel about BNHA, when it comes to fanfic—that the canon characters have certain inevitabilities you have to honour. just like no matter the universe, we are always going to need a Bakugou who’s centered around his friends (Deku, always, in any capacity. Kirishima, the first equal he had. Shouto, his frustrating Bestie <3), to me the hunger games works as well as it does because it’s war through the lens of relationships. Gale as the danger of unhealed anger, Peeta as choosing peace—like… that’s the magic of THG to me, and i just…… like…… what are we gonna do with the relationships, with a BNHA cast? 🥺 What would Bakugou be? Do we start with a Bakugou who’s still in Bastard Mode? Has he gone through his canon growth by the time he and Reader meet? If he has, then how was that facilitated in our new world? Did he and Deku end up in the same game? Survive together somehow? How many of their peers and friends do they lose, or does that come later on? How do we fit Reader into that dynamic naturally? the romance in THG happens through like, a need to play the game, play it up for the cameras, but it’s born out of Peeta’s very real feelings for Katniss, that started when they’re kids, and I’m not a childhood friends-to-lovers person (writing wise). The “romance” (if u can call it that) in Battle Royale is probably more culpable to what i do (vague awareness of each other/one-sided crush, grows as they prop each other up) but… idk!!! idk!!!! we could just write up Bakugou and Reader sharing a cave and making out over a festering wound but like…. idk!!! i believe in earning our kisses. 😌 show me the build up in the war-torn society first, and then maybe we can have a kiss later on, lmfaoooo.

Yeah I’m having thoughts about abyss monarch so listen up (if you wanna)

So in the event I was getting the impression abyss monarch had little control over their power, or at least didn’t have control of themselves when going all out, which while that is a trope on the edgy bitch checklist, and can work, I just didn’t like how they used it.

Maybe it needed more time to be established and wasn’t something that would work on 4-8 cutscenes idk but I wanna do something different.

A little more nuanced I guess.

I’m of the personal belief that any trope can work if you use it in an interesting way, so that’s what I’m going to try for my au.

For my au, abyss monarch has full control of themselves and their ability, it’s just to go full sea monster, they willingly let go of that control.

Because it’s either more fulfilling to then to act on instinct full sea monster mode or the lack of control is a requirement and they are all to happy to let go and go feral. (They’re still an edgy bitch after all)

However when they started to stay at the wondercrab that lack of control became an issue. They no longer can use their full strength because their sea monster’s instinct is to destroy and spread darkness.

And when you want to protect cookies you may or may not have gotten attached to those instincts are not exactly great.

Though they’ve let go for this power for so long they aren’t even sure they could retain control even if they tried.

So they just don’t.

Instead going the “I’ll just keep this power in a box over here, and hope no issue will come up that I will have to use it during my stay here.” Because edgy bitch has issues and decided to not even try.

During the final scene where the sea volcano is threatening to destroy the city, they go full power in order to protect, though yeah sea monster is still feral and that unwillingness to try and retain control is ingrained in their mind.

But that’s when electric eel and friends help.

What I’m thinking is this monster form can be controlled, as long as they have an anchor to ground them.

Something to focus on, a reason to stay in the divers seat as it were.

Like say, a bright light and the sound of your friends voice to pull you from your head.

Look man I’m just saying these sort of edgy plots can work, and I’m gonna try and write it in a way that appeals to me more then “I’m a monster and I cannot change this”

Plus it’s funnier to me if electric eel is like “okay but have you tried to stay conscious while going monster mode?”

And abyss monarch is like “nope”

Home page directory

I’m going to go over each of these things from top to bottom! I’ll expand on each section over time if needed, but for now explaining menu 1 and 2 are my priorities.

Energy

Pretty standard; gets used up as you do things, refills over time.

There are two ways to get more energy immediately: 1). Pay 100 “pia” for 100 hearts 2). Go to “Popo’s star”, which is free but limited to a few times a day (more on that later)

Coins and Pia

The two main currencies of the game

You get both for free pretty often, but coins are the most abundant and can’t really be used for much

Pia are also easy to collect but come in smaller amounts, so it takes longer to save them. Pia are used for gacha turns, buying most clothes, and “shipping costs” when trading. Pia are the only things that are purchasable with cash.

Events and notifications

On the left of the screen are circles that serve as shortcuts to certain event pages

On the right side, little icons will appear, signifying a notification. If you tap the icon, it will bring you to the corresponding page. I’ll make a list of the different icons and what they mean later.

Menu 1

There are three different places to purchase items.

Gacha is gacha, duh. Gachas can include both clothing and furniture items. They are bought with pia and gacha tickets. It can be a bit confusing to navigate, so u can find a guide to it here.

‘Brand’ refers to collections of clothing ‘brands’ that are released occasionally for a limited time. These can only be bought with pia. I will have more info for navigating it soon.

The shop is pretty simple and doesn’t sell much. As of now, you can buy the other starter furniture and one simple outfit with coins. There’s also a simple gothic lolita outfit and some background colors for your star, which are bought with pia. There’s another section too, I’ll link a translation of it later but it’s basically just buying extra space for outfits, photos, and stuff.

These two speak for themselves. I’ll explain a bit more about the furniture editor in the future since it can be kinda wonky.

This button will take you to a list of all of the ‘worlds’. Worlds are maps of a bunch of islands/stars that players can explore. Each one has a corresponding furniture and outfit set.

Each world has a limited period of time where, when exploring, a set amount of treasure boxes will spawn each day. Each treasure box contains a random furniture item from the corresponding set. Opening a box requires 10 hearts. There’s also an option to open it with a “magic wand” that raises the chance of getting rare items, but I still haven’t figured out where you can get those

The world’s outfit set can only be acquired through the gacha, but the furniture set is only available through the map at first. Eventually, the map will close, and then the furniture will only be purchasable as a full set with pia.

While exploring the map you can view “doppelgängers” of other players, and leave some of yourself. I’ll explain more in a future post.

Once you’ve visited every star on a map, you earn the ability to always be able to explore that map, even once the event ends.

These are the two social aspects of the app

Parties are basically live rooms that you can start or join. There is a voice chat option and an option to only view the party. I imagine there’s also a text chat but idk bc i haven’t tried one yet. Will update soon

SNS is like a mini Twitter. You can make text posts and also post photos from the games album (so photos are limited to pictures of ur character or objects). This is also where people post trade requests. I will write more on trading later.

These speak for themselves. Visitors will bring up a list of the people who have visited your star and watered your ‘tree’.

Menu 2

This menu has a bunch of other important things. Most are pretty easy to understand but there’s two that I’ll focus on right now.

Inventory has three lists, one with all of the items you have, one with any items you have 2+ of, and your wishlist. I’ll explain how to add items to your wishlist later.

Recipes will bring up a list of items that can be made using the “fruit” of the “tree” that each star has. Each new furniture set has a corresponding tree. Each type of tree produces a different type of fruit. After collecting enough of a fruit, you can craft a secret item.

BUT if you’re crafting the item for the first time, you can’t do it through the recipe book. In those cases, you have to go to Popo’s star and they will “give you instructions”. I’ll explain how to get there later.

next up if your "Silly lil HPES class trial" idk why you haven't posted it The murder? SOMEONE pushed Kiibo off the play set and caused his arm to pop off (he’s fine he just needs to wait for Souda to get there and reattach it) When the kids find him at the scene of the crime they are instantly in INVESTIGATION MODE (Kirumi helps him get to the nurse’s office) They spend all recess investigating the crime (this is elementary school so I’m gonna assume 30~ minutes) Lunch after recess none of them are in the lunchroom. Where are they? Classroom, it’s fucking trial time (Also instead of Monokuma presiding over the case, it’s an old Monomi plushie Shuichi has in his backpack) The plush can’t talk, but the camera will awkwardly pop over to it sitting on The Throne Of The Gods (they stacked all their chairs together) waiting for witty commentary. To the kids the Monomi plush talks tho (Ofc) But YEAH they have the desks ordered in a circle and treat it very seriously. Kaede bumped into Kiibo when they were on the slide and thinks she did it. Also psyche taxi is those little tyke cars Kaede’s about to be convicted when none other than KIIBO HIMSELF BURSTS INTO THE ROOM Everyone is silent The music gets intense it’s that one song y'know the one dr3 was in love with overusing that one He explains his side of the story (still doesn’t know who does it but presents evidence that Kaede didn’t do it) And yah tldr they have a whole 4-hour trial (they barricaded the door to the classroom ) and find out it was Kokichi who did it. He was in a silly goofy mood. His punishment? Call home

So I think I’m going to have diverging plots/aus that are mainly the same base, much like how my tma s/i works(which I also haven’t written down whoops). Idk if you want to hear about this but here it is so 👉👈

We’ve got your classic “no one dies” but with the caveat of “except for the cult members” but no one else has to die like in the apartment building or anything. Just some dork ass besties hanging out and occasionally dealing with ghosts. (And I mean. Also canon typical “I hate Sal’s dad fuck off what’s his name again? Henry? Fuck off Henry”)

Also my “I’m the braincell here” aka “help Sal get away with Murder” where the apartment massacre still happens (Larry doesn’t actually die though, he isn’t successful in killing himself but he’s fine from the darkness), but my s/i goes into crisis mode (which is very much take charge and plan focused) and makes sure Sal isn’t caught. (Which yes I do have a detailed plan of! Disclaimer that there are likely holes in this plan and irl it likely wouldn’t work but! First thing is to be seen in public together before the killing (in this Sal tells s/i before he actually does it). My s/i being very visible helps with this. They go to some sort of restaurant but don’t actually eat there, just order takeout and make sure they’re seen. Next they go back to s/i’s place where they loudly announce to their roommate(s) that they and Sal will be having a stay-in date in their room. When they’re in and the door is locked they instruct Sal to change into some of their old clothes they don’t care about and to leave his clothes, shoes, prosthetics, and phone in their room. He is then to sneak out the window, do the killing as needed, stay away from the cameras, and get as little blood on him as possible. After he gets back he has to put all the borrowed clothes in a plastic bag before sneaking back in. The next day s/i sets up a bonfire to burn the clothes and bag (they, much like I, love bonfires anyway so this isn’t unusual and they have materials for it), even if it doesn’t look like there’s any blood. They break the handle of the knife off from the blade and burn the surface of it clean, throwing the handle in to burn entirely.) Not actually sure if Todd is infected? Haven’t decided. If he is he’ll still get better I just don’t know if I want the extra angst. I also have like cover story stuff but that’s a bit more complicated to explain.

I have the forensic major one but it’s literally just one scene and I might just make it part of the first one? But usually I imagine my s/i as an art major because I like art and will maybe major in it when I’m able to get back into school. Hmmmm maybe forensic minor? It’s just because like. The damage a gun would cause is just?? So different from a dog?? Why does no one bring that up they are such different injuries! And the (abridged)scene is Sal showing my s/i (who probably needs a name that isn’t Matt because using that feels like I’m talking in the third person and I don’t like it) his face and they’re like “you said,,, you were attacked by a dog…?” “Yeah. Why?” “You don’t have to lie just to have an explanation Sal, I’d be perfectly happy not knowing what happened, that’s your trauma to tell or not tell.” “What are you talking about? What the hell I’m not lying.” “Sal. I’m serious, you don’t have to tell me but just say that. Also the one with “operation save Travis” which is half formed and is just where I’m putting scenes with everyone being besties with Travis in secret. In some my s/i pretends to be a cis girl and is his beard. Idk I just think he deserves friends and a hug.

Also my Sal is trans. He’s just he/him and is a gnc trans guy, which also gives extra weight to the “Sally face” nickname and his reclamation of it. My s/i likes making fake things for “Sal” to be short for, many of which aren’t even actually names.

Considering all that, maybe that scene in your AU should be about Sal saying he was attacked by a 'dog', your s/i knowing his wounds are clearly not from a dog attack, and after some prodding, he explains the whole story for the first time since he was shut down as a child?

So Fuegoleon can actually follow most of that chaotic discussion! Him and Arthur are actually acquainted! Arthur didn’t get to greet him bc poor guy has a lot going on but you’ll see them interact soon enough.

Marx can also somewhat follow the discussion because he knows of Arthur from his older brother Karl Francois who was briefly mentioned.

AGH I wanna keep it a mystery until it’s revealed but it’s okay I think it’s kinda obvious. No, she did not foil Lucius’s plans intentionally. Yesss forbidden magic and going crazy often looks alike. Maybe that’s part of the reason why Julius finds Aika attractive. Everyone is enticed by what they’re familiar with, the good and the bad.

I mean the three of them, Ellie, Evan and Jayce stick together sm. Fun fact they all sleep in the same bed💀 sparks are bound to fly and Jayce was really sad that Evan won’t be able to love again so take what you will from that🤭

Yesss I debated sticking to canon or not and I’ve realized that I played safe for too long and that I need to up the ante 😈 I’m gonna go off book but the characters will be in a way that makes sense as the timeline changes. For example, I’ve hinted at this already in tumbly posts but Yuno will be gone and Noelle and Asta will have a rivalry because I noticed that Tabata wants to have a minor enemies/frenemies to lovers thing with Asta and Noelle but I want to do their love story a bit more justice by giving them growth and history.
