How to Make Gifs on Your Phone (by an iPhone user)

For @thatsocfangirl and anyone else who might be interested <3 I am also still very new to gif making and video editing so any incorrect terminology is completely accidental

Step One: Get Your Tools Together

So you’ll want Firefox for your browser and a video editing app of your choice (I am currently using CapCut cause the last one I used went to paid only), also, you’ll need to locate a streaming service you can screen record from (with Firefox you should be able to use any, however, Netflix and Amazon Prime don’t allow you to stream through a browser on your phone yet).

Step Two: Capture the Scene(s) You Want

So you’ll need a decent chunk of storage on your phone if you want to make more artsy sets that incorporate multiple scenes. However, you won’t need too much space for doing one or two scenes at a time.

Step Three: Edit in Your Photos App

You’ll want to adjust some basic features directly to the original video (and cut out anything but the scenes you want so your working with a smaller file). The areas I tend to target are Exposure (usually hitting at least 80% cause the gif will always be dimmer than the video), Shadows (depending on the scene anywhere from 10-30% generally, the key is lightening without losing too much depth- but don’t worry depth and color will be added back in), Contrast (usually around 0-10%, adds back in some depth), Black Point (from 0-20%, adds back color and depth), adjust Warmth and Tint to return undertones to the same as the original unbrightened video (this will differ greatly from scene to scene), Sharpness and Definition (from 10-15%, makes the video clearer)

This step is where you’ll want to make the video really bright and colorful, while trying to maintain the same level of color balance as the original.

Step Four: Edit in Your App

Here you’ll do any additional adjusting to the above features, which will be lessened cause you’re now working from a new video as far as the app is concerned, giving you more maneuverability with coloring. But the primary thing you’ll be doing in this stage is sharpening, which you toggle to 100% and then download at the highest resolution (preferably 1080 or higher). And reupload the new video, and repeat till you get the clarity you want (I usually do it three or so times before I’m exhausted).

Then you can add in any affects, overlays or text you want to your newly sharpened and colored video!

Step Five: Convert to Gif

This step is pretty easy, if time consuming (though not longer than ten minutes a gif- with bad signal). Ezgif.com’s video to gif converter, where you’ll toggle your start and end times, use the drop down boxes to select 540 px (for tumblr), 33 frames per second, select the box to optimize for static background and then click the convert to gif box.

After a short loading session your gif will appear at the bottom of the page, with a MiB size (which to upload has to be below 10MiB). To get it to a smaller size you can adjust the frames per second which will make it less smooth or click the optimize button (I suggest starting at 5 and going up in increments of 5), and also you can adjust the speed of the gif from the options here (the shorter the gif the slower it will have to be to match the actual video speed)

To download always click the save button to load a new page or else the gif could be glitchy! And your all set!

Dracula is ancient. He is old. He has walked the earth for centuries, and has learned to ease his bloodlust. Yes, he is very well-acquainted with the temptations that comes with vampirism, and he does his best to keep his fangs clean, for he is mot the man he once was.

It is enticing. The smell that emits from your pretty pulse points, the way your heartbeat echoes and reverberates off of the castle walls drive his bloodlust farther. But he holds back. He will not succumb to his primal instincts. Not yet, at least.

But the day will come. He knows it will, for when your neck flaunts itself through the collar of your clothes he feels his façade slip and his hunger grow.

So the day comes, he holds a hand gingerly and sinks his teeth into your wrist. No, it is not the neck, but he feels like this is more appropriate than biting you in such an intimate place. He would not do anything you did not wish and would take it slowly, which is why his fangs would dip into the supple skin of your wrist; to ease you into the puncturing pain that will become familiar to you.

To Vlad, the act is intimate. He savours it, taking his time to ensure comfort and relish in the taste, smell, and essence. So when the time comes and his fangs graze your neck, he feels your pulse quicken under his lips, and his hand would make its way to the side of your head and softly entangle it in your hair, craning your head to the side for better access. Agonizingly slow his fangs would pierce into your flesh, drinking like a starved dog.

If he could he would stay there for eternity, to bleed you dry because your blood tastes like ambrosia, the food of the gods. He will not succumb to such basic and primal instincts no matter how much he wants to. He will not become more of a monster than he already is. Instead he would drink in the gasps that leave you, the pained hitch in your breath when he punctures your neck. He would not try to soothe you, too drunk on the taste he neglected for so long.

But the way it tastes on his tongue would drive him mad. It would simultaneously ease his bloodlust and drive it, making him want more. Enticing you were, so utterly cruel, but he would not lose himself in your scent. He would not allow it. You would not be a personal blood-bank for him, you are so much more than that.

You are his Achilles heel with your sweet taste. You would make him crumble to his knees just for a taste. He is weak for you, your scent and your smell. He becomes nothing more than a starved man when his fangs puncture your neck and tongue lap up the sweet, sweet nectar that oozes out and down your sweet skin.

“Vampires don’t need to sleep.” His voice was quiet. Soft. The fire roared beside him, but your night clothes were thin, and even with the flames you shivered.

“You are not a full vampire,” you stated. “You can enjoy the simple luxuries that sleep offers. Come to bed.”

Your final words came close to a plea, a beg, to which he sighed at. He could not refuse such a simple offer, especially not from you as you stood in the doorway, arms crossed as you watched him carefully. He would not hurt you, you knew this, but you watched him. You watched his slight movements and twitches, watched his chest rise and fall with shallow breaths. God, he was perfect. Even in the tranquil time of twelve o’clock with dishevelled hair and tired eyes, he was perfect.

He was silent for a while, wood crackling to fill the void.

“Okay,” he said, and he stood. The book in his pale hands shut, and his gaze lingered on the fireplace before he turned to you. His frame was illuminated in an orange light, twinkled with gold that pronounced his blond hair, and his features.

A smile played at your lips, corners twitching up as you moved towards him, taking his pale hands in yours. They were cold, or colder than most. But they were still steady, and you held them with a familiar touch. Your thumbs swiped across the back of his hands, caressing the pale skin as your eyes darted up to his. “Good.” You said, smiling. “Come, the bed had gotten cold. I will need someone to warm me,” you joked, and he let out a breath. A soft smile, different to your coy grin made its way to his face before he shook his head at you.

“Ah, I see.” Adrian mused. “You only wish for me to be a bedwarmer. How hurt am I.” You chuckled at his words, laugh quiet. Your shoulders shook slightly, and your grin grew.

“Precisely. Now come, my love. Join me.” And he did, leaving the hearth of the fire and into a cold, cold bed waiting minute by minute to be warmed by two lovesick idiots.
