The basic idea is it’s your average animal shifter AU where a small portion of the population can transform into animals.

Tim’s shift is obviously a pangolin (He’s Vietnamese in this AU btw, did you know that Vietnam has 2 species of pangolin :D)

Janet is also a pangolin shifter, Jack is just a guy. They are good parents in this AU cause like THATS WHAT THEY ARE!

Tim and Damian are pretty close in this AU! Damian is not as hostile towards Tim in this AU bc Tim’s a shifter and Damian loves animals so it makes sense. Also I just like when they get along and bond!

Tim and Jason though… yea no Tim is not a fan of Jason. I kinda wanna make Jason have a fear of pangolins but idk… Anyways, Damian often uses Pangolin!Tim as a projectile! Tim does not mind at all lol, he thinks it’s funny. He especially thinks it’s funny when he’s thrown at Jason!

Tim only starts to get annoyed when Damian learns about Pokémon, he has not known peace since Damian discovered it. “TIMOTHY I CHOOSE YOU” “TIMOTHY USE SLASH!” Tim doesn’t mind too much though, he likes hanging out with his little brother.

Young Justice are very involved in this AU cause I love them, they really like just snatching Tim up when he least expects it! (Steph also likes to pangolinnap Tim)

When YJ first saw his shift they thought he was an armadillo, they were then lectured on the difference between pangolins and armadillos for at *least* two hours by Tim. Everyone in the pangolinverse has been subjected to a pangolin lecture at least once. Pangolin!Tim makes a lot of pangolin related powerpoints!

Pangolin!Tim is very passionate about animal conservation in this AU, for obvious reasons.

I haven’t decided whether or not to make anyone else in the Batfam shifters, Tim is the only pangolin though. I feel like good candidates for possible fellow shifters are, Duke (cause vibes idk), Kate (again vibes), Selina (for obvious reasons), and I dunno Carrie? I don’t know much about her but idk man, the vibes.

Most if not all shifters can partially shift! Tim doesn’t do it too often cause his tail gets in the way of his pants, so it’s usually full human or full pangolin for him.

Pangolins often use their tails to hang from trees! So sometimes you can find Tim hanging from whatever he can grab onto in pangolin form.

There’s more pangolin stuff but it’s almost 3 am so I’ll make another post later! If you have any questions about Pangolin!Tim feel free to send me an ask and I’ll try my best to answer it!

What is it with this trope of 'lol, batboys don't know wut periodz are lol and the batgirls (+ Selina sometimes) have to help them!' Like I'm sorry, what?

Bruce would 100% know what one is! 'His mOm dIeD bEfOrE sHe cOuLD tEAch him' okay... but like... Alfred can tell him. Or Kate could tell him. Or he learned about periods while learning biology? C'mon!

Dick not knowing? He dated Barbara. Even if you wanna say that maybe Kori doesn't have periods due to being an alien, BABS IS A HUMAN! You canNOT tell me he never had to do a pad/tampon run, nuh-uh!

Jason not knowing? C'mon, he probably knew everything Willis and Catherine were buying. He probably had to buy them for Catherine during 'emergencies' and Willis was at work and she was high! He's probably the one you don't want to go on a pad/tampon run because he'll want to get the cheapest ones!

Tim? Not knowing? He dated Steph, and that girl seems like she would be vocal about her suffering and then bully him if he got uncomfortable.

Damian not knowing? Didn't his mother raise him for about 10 years of his life? Didn't he already know what sex was? (ik there's a movie or show where he tells Bruce to use protection) And he's 14 rn in the comics. C'mon.

Duke? Idk much about him, but I am facepalming over here. He's literally at the age where you get/have gotten Sex Ed. Ik Sex Ed ain't great here in the U.S., but his parents didn't tell him?

I just don't get where this trope comes from! Why do we hafta make them all idiots?! Is it a 'girl power' thing? A 'boys without alive mothers never know' thing? What???? Help?

I got tagged by @takemetomyfragiledreams for a Snippet Saturday! (I love getting tagged in these things. You spoil me so good. ����) And I did a thing. Like a continuation of my jaytim one-shot monster mash kind of thing. And what's under the cut is probably more than a snippet but, hey, short and concise just ain't my thing and I've made my peace with that. That being said, enjoy this heap of dragon!Tim riding in to save his damsel familiar demon!Jason. (I didn't edit nuffin' so beware, probably typos afoot.)

Most people wear their glamors whenever they’re out in public. The mixing of humans, creatures, humanoids and all those in-between has come a long way. It’s harmonious, almost. Not everywhere, not all the time. Crime against creatures and hybrids is higher still than humans and those creatures human enough to pass for normal. So whether out of fear or consideration or conformity, glamoring is as prevalent as it has always been.

For Robin, for Tim, that is doubly true. 

Dick and Jason were witches. It didn’t matter for them. The ethereal, glowing eyes of a witch in their half and full forms are hidden by the dominos. For all anyone else could tell, Robin was something but no one could ever pin down exactly what. There’s too many magical beings now openly living shoulder to shoulder with humans for it to matter. Too much magic freely floating through the air to definitively pick out a specific thread and follow it from the vigilante to the person behind the mask. Being witches allowed them the freedom to fully spread their wings without fear of giving away their identities whether they were Robin or Dick or Jason. 

Bruce has the world convinced Brucie is a bumbling idiot of a human while Batman is very obviously more but there’s enough creatures out there like daevas to muddy the waters. 

Of course, Tim’s parents wanted a flashy hybrid to parade around the balls and galas they bothered to attend when they were in Gotham. A new treasure his father could point to and boast about, proof of his mother’s superiority over the other children of the elite. They’d hoped he’d even get the unique ability to function without a familiar afforded to creature and humanoid hybrids. Rarely, the tempering magic of a humanoid would be enough to balance and tame the raw, electric power of creature magic. Then there’s no need to balance the scales through unnecessary attachments. 

Tim visited enough doctors as a kid, paid enough to keep their mouths shut to do procedures typically only done after seventeen at the limit of when bonds form, for his parents to come to the early conclusion Tim wouldn’t be one of the lucky hybrids. They got their trophy to stuff into stiff suits and march across marble floors but their disappointment in the knowledge Tim wouldn’t be able to function independently was a weighted, palpable thing. 

It’s always been customary for the wealthy to hide their true forms but, after that, they gave him a talisman to wear to events on top of his own glamors.

Becoming Robin and having Bruce harshly demand he always keep his glamors up wasn’t jarring because he’d already grown used to it. The magic started to itch if left too long. Sometimes Tim would forget to remove them even at home despite the cold, empty rooms being his only company. Sacrificing the truth of himself for Robin wasn’t a hardship. Nowadays, it’s second nature. He hardly even remembers what he looks like in his half and full forms. But he does know a half dragon, half elf is too conspicuous to ever be seen as Robin. It would be all too easy to connect the dots between such a rare hybrid and Tim Drake. 

Even just the thought of breaking his glamors, in public no less, is enough to make his heart race and his palms sweat but his bond is screaming familiar in danger over and over again as pain dances along every nerve. Tim can’t see any other way to neatly wrap up the mess Jason has created. From his vantage point perched on a billboard across the street from a nondescript warehouse on the southside of the docks, Tim counts at least fifty heavily armed mercenaries and one Red Hood.

Jason is powerful. Incredibly so, but everyone has their limits. The relative stability of Tim’s fused magics, his more prominent elven blood making the powerhouse magic of his dragon side more docile, compared to the volatile churning of Jason’s does come with the perk of not needing contact with his familiar as often. Which is all the better since Jason has made himself scarce since their last meeting. He’s posited that Jason likely doesn’t enjoy the same benefit given the incendiary nature of his magic, where the demon side reigns supreme and feeds, feeds, feeds off the magic of the witch. 

He can’t imagine what state Jason is in. Tim had already drafted a plan to hunt Jason down again for his own damn good. 

Now he’s being forced to speed up his timetable and make what seems like an impossible choice. Fifty guys, most likely armed with bullets and magic themselves, is something Robin can’t handle with a handicapped Red Hood. The thought of calling in Batman and Nightwing for back up rankles. There would be no hiding the bond with him and Jason close to one another, not from Bruce and, by extension, from Dick who serves as his familiar. Tim isn’t ready to share this part of himself yet. It’s a tender, open wound Jason tore open again, a weakness he hasn’t created a workaround for yet. 

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t, though. 

Heaving a long, weary sigh, Tim straightens up and hops down off the billboard while casting a temporary veil of invisibility over himself. With deft fingers, Tim does the latches on the Robin uniform and stuffs them into a cache stored inside the defunct AC unit nearby. Left with nothing but his undershirt and tights, Tim stands at the edge of the roof and grimaces. He can feel the swell of magic bubbling under his skin, equally soothing and irritating the pain channeling through the bond into him. 

Man, he really hopes he isn’t making a terrible mistake. 

Mind already made up, Tim shoves away his self-doubt and leaps off the roof with his arms spread. He closes his eyes and wipes away the haze of the glamors while pulling on his own magic to wrap around himself. To embrace himself and what he truly is. It’s pain and relief rolled into one, like scratching an itch viciously enough to bleed. His skin ripples and stretches, bones breaking down and knitting back together while muscle and sinew stretch to accommodate. As much as it sucks, because it does, Tim feels freer than he does swinging from his grapple through Gotham’s skies. 

He wants to laugh but it comes out as a chuff because of his snout. His paws slam into the concrete of the road, claws digging in and ripping it up. Bounding towards the warehouse, Tim decides to go for shock and awe. Most people don’t expect a full-fledged dragon to run into them head on. He knows even as a drake he's on the smaller side for dragons and doesn't have the added bulk wings would give his silhouette. Still, a dragon no matter the sub-type is a dragon and their reputation as an apex predator has been well earned in and out of the magic community.

Running on four legs is weird, especially with the unwieldy weight of his tail thumping clumsily against the ground behind him, so Tim stumbles the first couple steps but he settles into a loping run as he closes the distance between himself and the warehouse. The spines along the top of his head and down his spine shift with each powerful push of his legs. By the time he’s throwing himself bodily into the wooden bay doors of the warehouse, Tim has even managed to wrangle his tail into some semblance of order so it's not throwing off his balance so badly. 

The wood gives way easily, no match for Tim’s plated scales and thick hide. He skids across the warehouse floor, claws leaving gouges in his wake. Everything inside the building stops as Tim settles in the center of the room. No one so much as moves, too busy gaping at Tim to fire their guns and shoot off a burst of magic. His inner elf wants to preen at the stunned attention but Tim squashes the stupid impulse. 

Instead, he roars into the silence of the warehouse. The sound of it reverberates off the glass of the windows, completely destroying the ones closest to Tim. Tim’s tail swings back and forth agitatedly as he bears his teeth. The deep black of his smooth scales explode into a brief starburst of color when the light catches them like he’s been armored with plates of black opal. Tim rears his head back and roars with his whole chest this time as his tail slams into the floor and cracks the concrete.

The first roar was an announcement of his presence. The second is a warning to stay away from what is his.

You know what we need? Batfam Bloodbourne au

Preferably where they're all sent to The Dream but separately and when they all kill gherman and become baby great ones they come back to Gotham and it's Their Dream now. Just Gotham or the world and Gotham is Home and the most like Yharnam, up to you. But I'd love to see them struggle through the brutality, or make peace with it quickly for some (in my mind Tim would be the most stable, Jason would be okay but not great, Tim just seems so,,, adaptable to me, the most insatiable for knowledge so the most accepting of the consequences of getting that knowledge, pros outweigh the cons kinda deal) with the way others were changed and just unsavable. The people of Yharnam are beasts now and the kindest way to deal with them is to put them down even if it's not permanent. And then come out of it irrevocably changed themselves, more than just mentally. The effects it has on them and the world around them. How The Dream ended, but theirs just began and what if it starts in Gotham and slowly spreads? But they're the only great ones in this world so there's no old blood to corrupt people but that doesn't stop death being...odd. Unless they share their blood in experiments to Know what it would do and if they can use it safely for those they care about. (mad scientist Tim my beloved)

Like no joke, I adore Bloodborne, I Love it (Even if I can't play it thanks to getting distracted by all the details in the surroundings & then get murdered lol)

And I wouldn't say Tim is the most adaptable, they all are, but Tim? Compartmentalizes, looks at things logically, straight up turns off his panic at times like it's a switch. But I am also very weak to mad scientist Tim. Even if they probably don't let him do human experiments (not that it stops self-experimentation sometimes)

Gosh I love this. Them still ending up found-family while these utterly horrible things happen around and to them. I wonder if they sometimes take a moment in the dreams and whisper about what they remember before this Living Nightmare. Names they don't know the faces of but know they were important to them. Memories they cling to as they try not to lose what is left of their humanity.

Oh my god, them being the only Great Ones after killing the previous ones? Wonderful idea, I adore it. I bet even if they can take human form still it would be... off. And the more one's Insight is? The more they can see that they're Other.

God the imagery of like, Gotham's moon always being red and thick fog settling across the city each night as their Dream begins is amazing. And I bet that they relish it. I bet they're relieved for normal murder and crime, compared to the Plague of Beasts they had been dealing with what felt like years. Time gets so meaningless with an Endless night full of Deaths over and over.

I bet Gotham looks even more Gothic than before. Actually, you know what? This would be perfect for a No Man's Land situation. For the city to be abandoned only to be held afloat by newborn Gods who no longer quite understand the humans, not with how long the Hunt has stretched on, but care all the same. Idk I just really like this idea in general lol. I am weak to eldritch AUs and Bloodborne is glorious.

This one is just silly and nothing serious, but sometimes the Lords in Black when they are in human-like forms they like to play pretend and mock humans. They usually act as if they were siblings to make fun of that.

Ruth Fleming is a Tim Minchin and Bo Burnham fan. Her favorite songs are definitely Confessions, High School Party and Nerds (Studio)

Ted Spankoffski is ALSO a Tim Minchin fan. This one is unexplainable honestly, my brain just told me this hc and I went with it, but look, it makes sense to me. His favorite song is Beauty.

Shopper #4 has committed multiple crimes. Mainly tax fraud. I have no reasons for this one, I just know it.

People from Clivesdale know what Hatchetfield says about them, but they think it's in a fun way. They think that Hatchetfield residents pretend to hate them for the funsies and Clivesdale does it back in a playful manner, but they don't know that Hatchetfield, does in fact, HATE THEM and it is not a joke for them. Fuck Clivesdale.

Grace is always carrying a little teeny bible in her backpack, it is so damn small.

Frank Pricely is TRANS. this hc started as a joke but I started to take it seriously at some point. It's just the idea of it that is so funny. Frank basically came out with a friend of his by saying "Can I be frank with you?” and like, he told his friend that he was trans BUT he didn't know with what name to go by and asked him to help him chose a name, his friend thought about it and since he said 'frank' because he said the ‘can I be frank with you’ thingy and Pricely actually liked the name and then LATER ON his friend realized how fucking funny his name was considering that Frank is the capitalist ever and his last name is Pricely.

Ruth forced Grace to watch Jesus Christ Superstar.

Charlotte and Sam don't have any wedding pictures, so they don't have any visual memories of that day.

Char and Sam were high school sweethearts.

Ruth, Richie and Pete like to make gift exchanges every christmas and they get the stupidest shit ever for each other. And for some reason Ted also participates sometimes.

not sure how widespread of a take this is on here BUT i was talking about it in a discord channel today and thought id post, Batman to me has pretty much always been somewhere on the Aro/Ace spectrum. i know he gets married to catwoman sometimes and in most of the movies hes very much shown to be attracted to her (or rachel in the dark knight ig), but as good as most of those movies are the character is never REALLY Batman yk

basically its been shown over the years in the comics that Batman very much so doesnt care for women's advances on him, whether they be catwoman, batwoman (kathy kane in the 50's, not that godawful prologue to the killing joke movie), poison ivy, or whoever; and this has been used fairly frequently to argue that Batman is gay, which sure fine i can see that point i suppose but clearer to me is that Batman doesnt have any interest in fucking ANYONE, let alone the scantily clad or leather suit femme fatales in his life. Batman doesnt have TIME for love or sex or whatever, he has time for his FAMILY sometimes (alfred, dick, ((GRAYSON, THE CHARACTER)), jason, tim, damian, and/or the other 200 bat people), or MAYBE his friends (superman and/or the justice league), but 99% of his time Batman cares about 3 things; Justice, Vengeance, and Being The Knight.

i mean cmon the man is barely even interested in being a Real Fucking Person; anyone who's a fan of Batman knows that Bruce Wayne is the Real "mask" and Batman is the true identity of the man. he cares more about stopping crime and villainy than sleeping or his company or anything someone like Clark Kent could ever possibly worry about. Anyone whos let their human identity fall so far from the rich boy standard to become nothing but The Bat i find HIGHLY UNLIKELY to want to bang the lady with the cat ears and skin tight suit robbing gotham museum #4987 for the umpteenth time.

i cannot possibly even begin to fathom a Batman who has any interest in anything sexual; now obviously there are exceptions like when he marries catwoman or most of the live action movies or even the Animated Series that more prominently features Bruce Wayne as an actual person, but Generally, as in the character and personality everyone thinks of when someone says BATMAN, i believe to be somewhere on the aro/ace spectrum.

of course he HAS had sex, damian wayne is proof, however its going to take a hell of a lot of convincing for you to tell me that damian wayne was born because of Batman's sexual attraction. (i mean i've not actually Read the specific comics that Damian comes from and such but it would feel very out of place to me personally, and to other people ive discovered) also yk theres a reason its referred to as an aro/ace spectrum right like. idk where exactly hed fall there but definitely somewhere on there based on my mostly surface level understanding of it, im not knowledgeable enough on it to really completely get across what im saying but im sure its clear enough.

Batman is just far too concerned with beating the shit out of any criminal he finds on the streets of gotham to bother with sex or relationships or whatever. thought id share my take

Jeff the Killer

• Okay so Jeff fans are WILD so please don't kill me if I say something you don't agree with☠️

• He is really proud of his new face. (I always see people say he is insecure of it but it's stated in his story that he thinks it's beautiful)

• He re cuts his face everytime it TRIES to re-heal

• His face cuts are VERY infected

• He isn't exactly close with anyone in the mansion but he gets along with Toby the most

• May act like he doesn't but he really does regret what he did to Liu

• Has attachment issues after what happened with Liu (he lost him and he was so close with him

• Definitely listens to old good Charlotte, all time low, and maybe even some never shout never

• Has bad trust issues

• Gets mad very easily

Ben Drowned

• Is pretty childish since he was 12 when he died and never really got the chance to mature

• Is close with sally (even though it took her a while to get used to any male presence and she still hates it) and they prank people together

• He loves Apple juice (idk why I think this😭)

• He does stuff to purposely annoy people such as poking them over and over again

• when he gets mad he side eyes people and tells them to shut up

• You will hear him raging at random times at night because he lost in a video game

• I think he gets more annoyed than he does mad like he will roll his eyes if someone is irritating him

• Sassy 12 year old

• Is OBSESSED with Halloween because he loves the way people in the mansion celebrate (some of them go outside in their normal outfits and trick or treat just to bring home candy for the younger ones of the house. Since they all look like they are in a costume)

• I know this is super stereotypical but he definitely listens to hyperpop since it replicates computer-typeish music and tones

Eyeless Jack

• He doesn't have eyes, but HE CAN SEE

• Sometimes when he is out of kidneys and is hungry but doesn't feel like hunting, he will teleport to hospitals and use his invisibility skills to take kidneys from transplant sections (if that's what they are called)

• He still feels human emotions but just has a hard time expressing them since he wants to forget his past

• Has SEVERE trust issues and it would be shocking if he EVER trusted a human again

• Feels sympathy for Ben (if we are talking about the Benjamin Lawman sacrifice story) since he was also killed/sacrificed by a cult

• Don't get me wrong he loves killing/torturing humans, but sometimes he only wants a kidney and when they wake up he dreads it

• Is VERY quiet and polite (when around other creepypastas obviously) and doesn't really say much

• I feel like he definitely listens to 2014 music that you would hear on road trips (example: Safe and sound - capital cities, am I wrong - Nico and Vinz etc.)

Laughing Jack

• Is TERRIFYINGLY TALL. APPROXIMATELY 8 FEET TALL. Scary

• I weirdly feel like he sounds like tiny tim and pennywise combined

• Definitely thinks everything is funny since he used to be an actual clown and still hasn't forgotten those ways fully

• Listens to old classical music and 1920s-40s music such as tonight you belong to me - patience and prudence, and livin in the sunlight lovin in the moonlight - Tiny Tim

• Ben always try to prank him and he gets mad because he feels like he should be the one pranking

• Extremely scary and quiet most of the time, but he has very frequent mood swings that could have him jumping off the walls (literally) to just sitting on the floor staring

• Doesn't get along with anyone in the mansion except for Candy Pop and Jason the Toymaker

• Doesn't sleep and only eats the organs he pulls out of his victims

• Hates Issac because he basically turned him into this monster

• Has abandonment issues severely

• Is definitely claustrophobic ever since he had to be in that box for that long period of time

• Has a wind up thing on his back and he will play music (since he is a jack in the box and also a stuffed doll)

Ticci Toby

• Does NOT like waffles

• Is NOT an "UwU smol bean"

• hates being treated like he is less just because he is a proxy

• Likes to be alone because it can be a struggle for him to communicate due to his tourettes (not saying they can't communicate just saying it can come as a struggle when talking to someone new because of stress and anxiety which is a trigger for most people)

• Has bad abandonment issues

•Will absolutely REFUSE to kill anyone who resembles his sister in the slightest unless slenderman tells him to (proxies can not refuse slender)

• He loves fall and nature and loves to see the leaves turn green to gold

• Wears a lot of sweaters (this is kind of canon)

• Doesn't really get along with anyone in the mansion except for Jeff since they both like to complain about stuff

This isn't so much a question as I silly thought, do you think he's opened his second eyes instead of the first ones when he first wakes up? Or both? Cause idk I just see Tim looking over and there is a bleary Jay with not his normal eyes open.

THE FEATHERS!! Are they other bird feathers? Do Angels and well Jay mainly need help getting the casing/shell off? Usually birds do it themselves but if they can't they have friends and other birds as far as I've seen. (Or in cases of pets, they have owners help if they're trusting).

Onto Tim, How did he hide his mythicalness from the orderlies and nurses and doctors of the sort while in the Mental hospital? Did he? Cause you show him wearing really baggy jeans to hide his legs and boots and such. Like unlike Jay he can't put a sort of mask on.

Does shaving his horns down? Or does it only hurt once it hits that one spot like nerves and blood supply and such?

He's got big ears, does that mean he can hear Jay more easily? And to further that. (Do you think Jays heartbeat is different then a normal human?) You wrote in the notes he's terrible at pretending to be human.

so excited to answer all these questions ^_^!!!! Big ass explanation post incoming!

So firstly, angels having non-functional wings are very common and there aren't any documated “supernatural” cases where angels have actually flown. An unusually short angel may be able to glide or hover up to a taller ledge like how some Galliformes do. An Angel’s wings are mostly there for display! To attract or repel and for communication.

Jay is, as usual, the odd one out though. Many angels are more light than feathes so when light passes through them the most you can see is their face, wings, bones, and whatever part of them are also feather. Jay is unfortunately way more feathered than the average angel, of whom actually don't have that much coverage on them besides wings and face. Also, most angels have a very ethereal appearance too them, they naturally walk with grace and elegance and have bird-like mannerisms while Jay is awkwardly lanky, clumsy, and unnerving. He does still carry the bird-like mannerisms though.

For the second question he wakes up sometimes with he second eyes, yeah 💀. It is a bit unnerving especially when Tim didn't even know the marks on his face were eyes on his human form.

On the question of maintenance and preening for Jay’s feathers and other angels. Angels, again, usually don't have as many feathers as Jay does and the most help they need is with their wings on the back. Jay struggles reaching his back, his nape, and his wings. It's only a little extra hassle but he's figured that using a brush or back scratcher is the best alternative he has since he doesn't visit his family that often and he can't really expose his forms to his friends. Besides, he's never been at that level of bonding and/or intimacy with someone to let them help preen him!! Alex was a close contender but yk, that didn't go anywhere so really the only people he trusts are his family. (Tim eventually does get permission to help out and touch his feathers but that's for a short while before entry 72). Also some angels resemble real birds while others may appear as a combination of some, others don't even look like they're belonging to a particular species especially in wing type. They're all very naturally colored though ^_^!

Tim is a long explanation because well, the hospitals knew about his whole mythical-ness. His mother was a satyr too but she was really good at hiding it and taught him how to hide it too. It wasn't that hard since his horns hadnt grown in and his ears weren't too big but he still had the issue of the slender sickness. It got so bad the school took notice and she had to admit him (not that she minded, she wasn't the best mother). It didn't take long at all for him to be discovered a satyr and since then he has been in and out of the mental hospital, going back and forth between medical universities for observation, tests, research, and then back to the mental hospital for his “condition”. They weren't really sure what to do about it and once the original facility he resided in burned down he was returned to his mother's care (with medication now obv) and placed in high school. After his freshman year, his horns started to grow and he went from wearing hats occasionally to wearing hats all the time.

Shaving his horns down doesn't hurt him unless he shaves it too far down, then it’ll start to bleed. He spends a shitton of time filing them down though cause its pretty hard to shave them with a nail filer.

He does have significantly better hearing than everyone around him so despite Jay being pretty quiet when he enters a room, Tim can almost always hear him. With the addition to that question Jay does in fact have an irregular heartbeat. It's way too fast sometimes and way too slow other times and if it's too fast then Tim can hear it, he gets concerned for the guy a lot.

yeah. Granted, its an old post back when the Tim/Damian conflict was more recent (I think 2013/2014-ish) but it's still very emblematic of those kinds of Tim fans. The kind of fans who treat Damian (a child) as an abomination who will never change while still excusing Jason (a young adult/current adult). I still laugh at this, its so egregious. "Jason never tried to kill me" sure man. sure. "--in no way suggests he's changed his goals at all" uh huh. "im not coming back to the manor" okay. goodbye. I swear some people treat this era like Damian was trying to alien assimilate into the family and destroy only Tim's life on purpose. Because of course everything's about Tim, nothing can be nuanced enough to include the 10 year old's trauma and everyone's else's grief into account, and if you excuse the child's actions then you're advocating for bullying/bad parenting/sibling abuse /s.

9. worst part of canon -- simple answer, how writers will always rehash arcs and the same "explorations of a character." More complicated answer, I'm not a fan of the way supporting characters have been erased in current/modern comics. I don't like when those characters explicitly created to support the main character's plot lines and expand their world are either completely gone or so sanded down they're practically splinters of wood. Some examples, I see mentions of Tim's wider supporting cast that are gone (idk Ives sounds interesting), theres the fact Maya Ducard hasn't shown up until very very recently, Harold Allnut and Leslie Thompkins vanished into the aether, Waller got super-butchered etc.

12. the unpopular character you actually like/why you should like them -- hmm. Kind of hard to answer since I can't gauge the unpopular ones in wider fandom. Technically, every character has their haters- ah wait. hold on i'm receiving a vision. ITS THE PARENTS. No matter which side of the fandom its always the parents (TM) that get disparaged and raked through the coals. Willis and Catherine Todd, Janet and Jack Drake, Crystal Brown, Talia al Ghul, I could go on probably. Yes, I do actually like all of them. Willis's abusive nature was a retcon and even if it wasn't, its still rooted in classist ideas of "Poor man will inevitably abuse wife/child because he is poor and unsatisfied, something something he didn't work hard enough for capitalism." Willis can be a subpar father, but hitting his child shouldn't be the only aspect to explore. Jason tried getting revenge for his dad's death, he loved him, what you do with that is more interesting to me than "Willis sucked and Jason hates him and Bruce is better/Bruce is equally as bad and Jason also hates him." Catherine and Crystals addictions are often portrayed as "absent and not nearly there enough to provide their child protection." Catherine's sickness/addiction was super up to interpretation until it was retconned to "full blown drug addict". Crystal was being abused and trying. Children can resent their parents over this, but sometimes you need to look past the character and at the actual writer who wrote this into canon. Did they or did they not hold their own bigoted views and insert them into the comics because that's what they wanted and no one stopped them? Janet was dead before she could meaningfully warp Tim and by all accounts she was loving to Tim even when she wasn't always there. All of Jack's flaws are so utterly banal and human and a clear signifier of the 90's/2000's ideas of parenting that making him more than a slightly pathetic and macho-oriented man just...doesn't make sense to me. And I won't get into Talia because we'll be here for hours. I will say that Talia is truly in a lose/lose situation because people will hate her whether she actually has a hand in Damian's childhood or not. To me all of these parents can be nuanced and interesting to explore, especially in situations without their children. I like writing about Willis and Catherine's childhoods. I like exploring Talia's relationship with her father. I like thinking about Jack being hopeless and still having redeeming qualities and Janet being so loved by him it destroys him when she dies. I just think the idea of "parents before they were parents" is neat! I love thinking about the people they used to be before a child, because having children is so changing. Was Willis affected by his own parents? Did Willis actually know Lady Shiva as friends or was there some crazy backstory we'll never get? Did Catherine have her own hobbies and dreams, did she always want a child and accepted Jason as her own so readily because it haunted her for years? Did Janet go into archaeology for a specific reason, was it a family passion? Did Jack meet Janet and covet her intelligence and independence? Did Talia dream of becoming a world-renowned surgeon and having that be accepted by her father wholeheartedly, having her successes be her own successes?

First impression: So the first appearance of Sasha we get is the Michael statement I think? Or the calliope bit. I don't really remember. Anyways I think i heard of her before in the fandom perhaps. I... Honestly don't remember what idea of her i got. Maybe that people missed her and wished she had more time lmao

Anyways, her first appearance rolled in and in addition to everything Jon said about her (that she was smart and competent) it struck me how much sheer main character energy i got out of her. She's brave too i feel like. I loved her dynamic with Jon! And her voice is so neat. Idk. I think it was love at first sight (first listen)

Impression now: So i don't feel like listening to the rest of the podcast changed my impression that much, cause obviously, yknow, she has no screen time LOL. But I explored her character on my own a bit i think. She's very only superficially analysed by the fandom i feel and it makes me sad :( anyways she's my wife and my prettiest princess and i love her and i want to wrap her in a blanket and give her everything good and turn her into an eye avatar and feed her innocents trauma lmao. I want only good things for her and she's not dying again on my watch :/

Favorite moment: I think it's when, during the prentiss attack, she gets out of document storage to save tim. It both shows how much she cares and also her absolute bravery and selflessness to the point of foolishness. We were all screaming for Tim to notice Jane. And this badass motherfucker was the one who actually went and jumped at him to get him out. Girl! Hell yeah! Also her quick thinking, she ran towards the exit after that. And the fire alarm... I love her discussion with elias after that, and her recalling her time in artefact storage... And then she dies. The best really are gone first (this says a lot about martin i guess lol. SORRY XD)

Unpopular opinion: So like, you know in episode 161 or 162 when she's talking with tim and she says it could never have worked between them? I feel like a lot of people saw that and went "she's aro" and like power to you obviously hc what you want but i feel like basing it on this singular piece of dialogue is. Meh. Like... Sometimes two people who are hot and smart and funny and nice and allo and get along well just won't work romantically and. That's fine that's normal. Idk yeah that's just that. My hot take!

Idea for a story: gosh. Ummmm. Need to come up with a new one. It's about sasha... And... Okay i want her to interact with elias. What are they doing? Lil baby duke which i partially pulled from batwheels as the dendro archon, he's the first one i thought of and nahida has a thing about analogies and what's analogies but poetry

Tim as furina is just AAA gives me life, he's Red Robin's humanity and has to play the part of being a god and instead of being behind the camera, he's in front of it, and he's hoping that none of the thousand words that a picture is worth sees through him

Bruce as the hydro dragon sovereign is kinda a no brainer bc he's all JUSTICE and impartiality and also the melusines are his CHILDREN istg he cannot stop being a parent

The archon quests would pretty much play the major beats the same, but the small details would change, like dick doing trapieze and aerial stunts instead of being a bard like venti, or jason being careful with his spending and paying attention to how much mora he uses and makes, or inazuma being based off nanda parbat

ANYWAYS onto my jaime genshin au

Basically during a fight he gets thrown through a portal to teyvat with no way out on his end

Khaji is dormant for a while, so he's mostly on his own

He settles into liyue and gets a primary job as yanfei's law partner and does odd jobs just for extra mora on the side

He travels sometimes, but he can be content a little, given that he gets a grasp on how teyvat works and how theres not really targetted dimensional travel

He gets a vision, his ambition of practicing law carrying over, and he would basically be like a anemo claymore yanfei, if that makes sense, if he were in the game his stacks would carry over and become yanfei's stacks if that would even work idk im just brainrotting

He's kinda an oddity but not really as known as a traveler as much as, well, the Traveler

He's just vibing and surviving until the justice league notice and pinpoint him and collect him jaja

Onto my gunbug genshin stuff

Jaime's main team is cyno, yanfei, chevrus, and lisa, and in coop it's just cyno and yanfei

Jason's main team is navia, nahida, kokomi, and hu tao, in coop it's chevrus and hu tao

Half the time jason brute forces with just navia and since he has her built it works

Jason goes to jaime's world while jaime's farming scarabs and he just hears gunshots as jason mows down sumpter beasts while farming meat bc surprise, jason loves cooking in genshin

Jason's favorite area is flueve sindre and jaime's favorite is between port ormos and chenyu vale

They absolutely take the boat rides in chenyu vale together in coop

So I had a thought

In Harry Potter there are a good amount of mixed people (not just racially) like half giants, half goblins, people with veela blood, a child with a werewolf parent, etc.
