Okay so, my hot take about Xue Yang, not in an apologizer way dw, this will be about how and why Xue Yang is one of the strongest characters in Mo Dao Zu Shi. So here we go:

Xue Yang is a demotic cultivator and we know that this path ruins your mind, soul and body. It destroys you.

We have WWX who, despite of his years in the street, grew up in the comfort of a home, a wealthy one, and he trained properly. He didn´t grew up in the best circumstances, but he was strong and not used resentful energy until 17 or 18. And he died at 22/23 so, he used it for 7 years or so, ok, nice, we all know how that ended.

We got a head disciple of his sect, strong and smart, broken by demonic cultivation (and he has the best doctor ever by his side). Yes, he had lost his core, but he was still WWX.

Okay to the point, we have this strong man and then we have Xue Yang. Who grew up in the streets until 14 or 15, maybe a little less? Idk, age is complicated.

So, we have this street urchin, teaching everything himself, learning to cultivate in his own and probably not having a strong core who ends up using resultful energy. Maybe he heard rumors about it?? About the Yilling Patriarch? And XY wanted to be strong so, why not use it???

During Yueyang massacre XY was at least 15 but he had to recreate half of the Yin Steal to be allowed to do it... well, let´s say he needed a year or so, let´s say JGY saw this 14-year-old teen and took him in, why not, totally good plan.

By here XY already had his sword and I refuse to think that JGY teach him anything so XY was there like, oh yes, I learnt the wat of the sword by my own so I could stab things better. We know that Jiangzai is an evil sword (in same way of the Nie sabers) so, he needs control and spiritual power to control her, to not let the energy kill or qi deviate him.

Now we have a 15 yo XY, who´s been using demonic cultivation for at least a year, with a dangerous sword killing +50 people and recreating one of the most dangerous ever. Yep. What can go wrong from here???

And he fights SL and XXC, he´s defeated yes but remember that XY self-taught him everything.

Time pass and XY keep using resultful energy and it should hurt him, kill him little by little but then Yi City happens and well. He created corpses and puppets and all that.

By the present time XY is what?? 25?? Approx.?? So, +10 years of demonic cultivation and he´s still alive. And more or less in control. He hurts people when he wants, not by accident.

He fights LWJ, he fucking fights and stands against LWJ and he´s hurt. He flighted against SL. He´s an excellent swordfighter. He only lets his ward down when LWJ took Shanhua from him.

WWX lost control and become weak.

XY had control (not mentally like wtf this dude has never been stable) and well, I´m sure his underweight and malnourished and has a sick constitution, but he can manage pain and wounds.

It´s like what killed WWX made him stronger and well.

He´s a bitch yes, he´s irredeemable. But he´s not a crazy psychopath, he´s a fucking genius and maybe in other word he´ll been an excellent cultivator (not like he deserves it) but well, that´s everything I think?? 

The point is: Xue Yang is strong, not stable, but strong

Also remember that he was a kid, that everything that happened to him was in kid's eyes. He's one of the youngest characters (except from the juniors)

Bucky doesn’t necessarily like meetings. He views them as a waste of time, and they could just as easily give him a paper with all the information. Clint says it’s so if they have questions they ask them there instead of making a mistake on the field.

“They allow mistakes?” Bucky asks, as blandly as can be.

“You make me so sad on so many levels,” Clint says, clapping his shoulder. “Yes, you’re allowed to make mistakes. Why the hell do you think Steve is allowed on-field?”

Bucky laughs at that one.

The meeting in question is about Iron Man. The red and gold suit with a man inside of it, apparently. SHIELD wants his identity but more importantly, the technology.

“If you haven’t found anything else like it, what makes you think that he wants to share it?” Bucky asks. “Just let it happen.”

“We can’t just ‘let’ this happen, Barnes,” Fury says, voice steady and eye trained on him.

“Why not?” Bucky asks. “He’s taking care of criminals on a corporate level. We can’t touch that without bringing more attention to agents.”

“Which is why we’re integrating,” Fury says.

“Not fast enough,” Bucky says. “He doesn’t need to gain trust. With integrating, there’s possibility of a double agent. They get paid off and it’s more than what you promise for a salary.”

“I assure you our agents aren’t that low.”

“Oh and you kept them all from Hydra?” Bucky snaps. “Because as I recall, Rumlow was pretty damn happy to be one of Pierce’s lapdogs, so—”

“Enough,” Fury snaps. “Enough from you, Barnes.”

“We could be dealing more directly with the people we have that actually need to be stopped instead of a damned robot who happens to like taking down illegal corporations that were on our to-do list anyway,” Bucky snipes back. “I’m leaving.”

“Don’t bother expecting yourself on the next mission,” Fury calls after him.

He gets a nice and shiny metal finger in response.

Bucky then decides to treat himself to a trip to the bookstore. He’s already read the last book twice, and he needs a new one.

It’s a Friday, and kids are getting out of school. He pays them little mind as he walks with purpose, taking note of possible threats, a new donut shop

The bookstore smells nice, like coffee and sugar. Bucky wanders through it, keeping an eye out for the owner.

He finds him huddled at a table with a group of teenagers, explaining some sort of math problem, laughing at one’s joke. He has glasses perched on the end of his nose, giving him quite an amusing and cute appearance. Bucky smiles to himself a little as he disappears into the stacks, looking through the new arrivals. He finds two particularly interesting ones.

“That one is really good,” comes a voice from behind him. Bucky turns, seeing Tony. He looks nice today. He’s wearing bright yellow shoes. “I like it.”

Bucky takes another look at the cover.

“What else can you recommend? I’m kind of a fast reader.”

(He is not a fast reader. Well, not really. But if you stay up all night only reading because you have too many nightmares, then it counts. Technically.)

Tony puts about four or five books into his arms before he realizes that he hasn’t checked prices or anything.

“Trust me, this is fine,” Bucky says, grinning. “Thanks, Tony.”

“No problem…huh. I just realized I don’t actually know your name.”

Tony does, in fact, know James Buchanan Barnes’ name. Quite well, in fact. He’s the one who Hydra trained to kill people and attempt to kill Howard and Maria Stark, who are still living. They moved to Italy, by the way. No, Tony doesn’t care. Just makes it easier to break into the New York home on occasion, fix up the old workshop.

(He can’t use his own apartment as a base for Iron Man. That would be utterly ridiculous.)

But for this purpose, he does actually need to learn Bucky’s name.

“I’m Bucky,” he says.

“Parents hated you, did they?” Tony teases.

“Only slightly less than my idiot friend who gave it to me,” Bucky says, grinning.

“Idiot friends are like that,” Tony says, smiling. “Well, do you want to sit down and read for a bit? Chairs are open, if you’d like.”

“Sure. Mind if I order a coffee?”

“Of course,” Tony says. “What do you want?”

Bucky did not know that there was more coffee. Well…correction. He knew that there was more to coffee than black. There had to be, obviously. He just wasn’t expecting the menu to be so extensive. He looked at it for a few moments while Tony waited expectantly.

“Um, wow. I don’t drink a lot of coffee, but um, what would you recommend?”

“I personally love the lavender latte we’ve been trying out,” Tony says. “I’ll make you one and if you don’t like it, I’ll replace it free of charge.”

Bucky not drinking a lot of coffee is a lie. Steve joked that he needed a tank of coffee a day to even function. Bucky just usually took it with a bit of sugar and pronounced it good.

Now this was amazing. Bucky loved the drink, loved how different the flavor was. He could drink about twelve more of these if he really wanted to.

“Tony, this is amazing,” Bucky says, expressing pure delight over it. “How do you make coffee this good?”

“You act as if you’ve never had a latte,” Tony says, laughing. (It’s not acting.) “But here, let me explain…”

Bucky could hear Tony Jarvis explain things for ages. He’s really good at it, like he’s used to explaining how things go all the time. Bucky finds it relaxing.

It is at this point that a kid in a t-shirt comes up.

“Hey, Mr. Jarvis—”

“Call me Tony, Pete,” Tony responds. “What’s next on the homework agenda?”

“We have to write a persuasive essay and since you told us you took marketing, we figured you could help.”

“Not sure how much help I’ll be, but sure,” Tony says. “Bucky, I’ll talk to you later. Enjoy the books. If you finish any while you’re here, just put them back on the re-shelving cart by the door, okay?”

“Yes, Sir!” Bucky says, throwing a mock salute. Tony snorts, saluting lazily back.

Bucky gets sucked into the first book. He relates to how out-of-place the main character feels. He doesn’t notice the sky getting dark until he sips his coffee and it’s cold that he looks up.

Tony has been staring at him for the better part of an hour. Not that he knows that. He just knows that Tony has perhaps been gazing for a minute or two.

“Oh god, please tell me I’m not staying past close,” Bucky says.

“You’re not, don’t worry,” Tony says, laughing. “You would’ve known if you were. No, there’s thirty minutes more left, if you want to keep reading. No rush, sweetheart.”

Bucky goes back to his book with a nod, hoping that Tony doesn’t catch his cheeks going bright red. He remembers being called sweetheart before, but this is drastically different from 1934 for all the right and wrong reasons. (Right because finally he can tell a guy he’s cute without getting mauled or having to whisper it near-six-feet-under. Wrong because Tony is running a business and Bucky met him a day ago.)

Tony shifts nervously around the shop. He had planned on closing early, getting into the suit with Rhodey and doing some recon.

Judging from the texts from Rhodey, so was he:

Well excuse me honeypie, but I got held up. A customer is still here!

Ohhhh this is your bucky-boy. This is hilarious. Yeah leave the store open until he leaves. Idk why he isn’t on the roster with the rest of the Avengers this week. Should be. Damned good guy. lmk if he’s a booty call

Tony huffs, clicking his phone off and returning to wiping down the counters and rearranging the records. Bucky walks up, putting the books at the register.

“I didn’t realize people still played records,” Bucky says, looking at the room adjacent.

“I’ll make sure that you get to play some next time you’re here,” Tony says. “But let me ring you up, okay?”

Bucky hands out the amount owed and sticks three dollars in the tip jar. Tony thanks him and smiles, and Bucky thinks he’ll have to start separating his bills more so that he can see that smile more often.

And then, of course, he gets a call from his phone.

“You’re needed,” Natasha says. “Come over. Now.”

“What happened to me being banned?”

“You’re a sharpshooter and a good weapons analyst. Fury would be stupid to reject that. Get here. Now.”

She hangs up. Always keeps it short and sweet, that Romanov. Bucky sighs, figuring out if he has enough time to go to his apartment and stash the books, or if he’ll have to leave them at headquarters.

He has to leave them at headquarters. He gets a look from Steve and Clint.

“Find a new hobby?” Steve asks.

“Of a sort,” Bucky says. “Got interrupted. What’s the plan?”

“Both War Machine and Iron Man are attacking Hammer Industries. Again.” Clint says, rolling his eyes. “You know, just when you thought they would switch it up. This is the third time in a row. Third time’s the charm and all that…”

Bucky doesn’t trust this for a wide variety of reasons. 1.) Iron Man is smarter than all of them, as is War Machine. 2.) Three times? In a row? Something has to be going down.

“What has Hammer Industries been doing?”

“Other than building weapons and government contracts? Nothing out of the ordinary,” Natasha says.

“Government contract is a big deal ever since Stark Industries lost out,” Bruce adds. “CEO—Pepper Potts—decreed no more weapons. Not a very popular move on her part.” Yeah, Bucky could see that. His best is from Stark Industries, but he understands. Iron Man had released evidence about SI’s involvement in shady under-the-table deals, all at the direction of Obadiah Stane.

“So, why go after a government contract?” Bucky muses. “They know something we don’t.”

“That doesn’t matter right now, we’re getting both of them under custody,” Hill says from the cockpit.

It does matter, his conscious whispers, or else you’d still be staring at Tony from the bookstore. His focus returns to the books at his side. He didn’t notice it before, but the bookstore has its own stamp that it gives the inside covers. It’s cute. He must have stared too long, because Steve nudges his arm.

“I’m glad you found a place you like,” he says. “Where is it?”

For some unknown reason, Bucky doesn’t want to tell anybody.

“Just a bookshop,” he says, closing the cover. “Checked it out before coming here. Around the neighborhood.”

That’s all he says before the mission is engaged and he’s strapped with enough gear to kill a pack of bears. He would much rather be reading, but that’s not what he gets.

“Took you long enough,” Rhodey says over the mic. “You and Bucky have fun between the stacks?”

“Nothing of the sort,” Tony responds. “I cannot believe you would accuse me of impropriety, honey. Honestly.”

“I have literally seen you strip on a Tuesday morning because you had too many mimosas and Pepper wanted to see if you actually would.”

“Details darling, let’s focus on the now. What has our dear friend Justin been up to?”

“For one, his online security and the regular security absolutely suck. I already am printing out the evidence where I’m at. I think all we need is to destroy some stuff and then—”

Rhodey gets knocked aside by red, white, and blue.

Tony groans. Figures that they would catch onto the pattern. Tony knew he should’ve waited, but he didn’t want to get Hammer spooked and up and running again. They needed him out of the way, maybe introduce a better CEO or hell, a better company—

“Iron Man, stand down,” comes the loudspeaker of the jet.

“Fat chance,” he mutters, zooming away from one of Hawkeye’s projectile arrows. Seriously, they could have so much better range if he built them. Unfortunately for him, SHIELD apparently wants him on a silver platter, so that won’t be a nice future with the company.

War Machine is already leading the heavy hitters away. The hardest one to deal with is usually Thor, who doesn’t always have the most accurate shot but definitely doesn’t entirely miss. Especially with the hammer having some sort of recall, it’s difficult to avoid. Tony’s just happy that Winter Soldier is off the roster and away from—

Son of a bitch, no he’s not. He can see the arm from here, and curses.

“Platypus, we have a gleaming problem.”

“I thought he was off the roster!”

“Apparently Fury signed his permission slip for this field trip,” he replies. “What do we need to destroy? I have an idea.”

“A shipment of guns. I don’t recommend going anywhere near it, but of course you will not heed my advice.”

“Be a dear and lead the Widow in closer? I think I can do something.”

Winter Soldier is having a fun time. Usually the missions are a one-hit-wonder, so to speak. Iron Man and War Machine move and actually anticipate the shots, which is all sorts of fun. He just hopes that Steve can’t see his grin, or he’ll be in hot water for it. (Fun sucker.)

“Barnes do you have the shot!” Nat yells.

“I’ve had the damn shot, what the fuck do you want me to do against iron?” he yells back.

“It’s titanium-alloy, but I understand,” Iron Man says smoothly, touching down as lightly as a ballerina. “SHIELD not do the intelligence testing anymore? I understand. If they knew Hawkeye was on the team without it…”

Bucky wants to laugh. He really, really does. But he doesn’t. “Why are you at Hammer? What’s your game?”

“I’m surprised you ask,” Tony says, blinking. His helmet tilts to one side. Usually, no one at SHIELD asks any sort of question. This is…new. “Hammer’s selling under the table. War Machine and I are handling it.”

“You didn’t tell SHIELD about this, did you?”

“There’s a reason SHIELD wants me in handcuffs but the suit left to their own devices,” he says. “They’re not as trustworthy as you think, hot-shot.”

And then Iron Man dodges a blast, and the debris lands on the containers.

The company’s own fault. Clever. Bucky has to hand it to whoever is behind the mask, he’s smart.

Iron Man does a mock salute.

“Until next time, losers!” War Machine calls out.

“Do you think they know that War Machine has a tracking device?” Natasha asks. Clint shakes his head.

“Not sure. Probably not since we’ve been focusing on Iron Man. We’ll have to wait and see.”

Bucky turns, thinking. Iron Man had said that they’re not as trustworthy as they seem. What did he mean by that? How so?

Rhodey isn’t a fucking clown. Of course he knows they put a tracker somewhere on his suit. It’s recording audio, which Jarvis knows. Rhodey puts a finger to his lips as they touch down. Tony gets the hint immediately, taps out a message for Jarvis to scan and debug.

“Pest Control Initiative working now…” comes the smooth, lilting accent of Jarvis.

Once they’re out of harm’s way, Rhodey cracks a grin.

“Think they’ll like that?”

“Should fry the system for them for a little bit,” Tony says. “Which leads into me getting in. Thanks for putting up with that whole mess.”

“You owe me a century-old bottle of whiskey for Black Widow.”

“Get in line behind Pepper,” Tony says. “She’ll be at the cabinet on your left.” Rhodey snorts as they touch down at Stark Industries. Pepper is there with a raised eyebrow.

“Evening gentlemen,” she says. “Drinks are on the counter. Fruit juice, no alcohol. It’s a Thursday.”

“Thursday is Friday is Saturday,” Rhodey snarks, taking the glass anyway. “How was work today, Pep?”

“Horrible,” she groans, leaning back on her barstool. “Asshats keep trying to tell me what to do when it’s my company, technically speaking. Tony, how is your bookshop?”

“We’re getting more and more people in,” Tony says. “Record sales are nice, coffee is good too. I need to come up with a new idea for an iced coffee flavor. I’m coming up with nothing.”

“Hazelnut usually works well if you need something in a pinch,” she returns. “Did you manage to get into their system?”

“Success,” Jarvis cuts in smoothly. “I am well-integrated into their system; they have no idea I am there. Of course.”

Jarvis is a bit proud of that particular thing. Then again, he gets a big head when he’s successful.

“Good for you,” Rhodey says. “What can you tell us?”

“Employees have a shocking amount of free time and have made a donut tower.”

“The business, J,” Tony says.

“I am sorry, I was following your ever-amazing guidance for protocol,” Jarvis remarks. “SHIELD has an unprecedented number of holes in security. Files have gone missing. There are a few members that go on trips and check in at the ill-advised times.”

“What does that mean?” Pepper asks.

“When Peggy was running the show everyone had to check in at her time,” Tony says. “She also talked personally about it with everyone or assigned people to supervise if she couldn’t. It was more reliant on people and what you saw. With Fury, times became more technological. Not a bad thing, but not a fantastic thing either. With technology you could claim there was an issue checking in, or the computer lagged. It happens, and you can say that every once in a while unless if you’re me.”

“Because you built most of the systems,” Rhodey says. “So we know you’re at least decently smart.” Tony pokes his tongue out.

“Point is, a lot of the older members of SHIELD either say they didn’t get it, or get tech support to fix it later. Using their inability as an ability, most likely. Clever. I’m just wondering how far it goes.”

“We’ll find out in time,” Rhodey says. “Maybe when you take Bucky out for drinks, you can seduce him into giving you information.”

Pepper stills.

“Tony, you did what?!”

“Um…” Tony glares at Rhodey. “He kind of lives by my bookstore and doesn’t know I’m there? If that makes it better? I should go, I have inventory—”

“Stay,” Pepper says. “We are working on this and I am making sure that you don’t give away your secret because you fall in love.”

“I won’t fall in love!”

“Tall, dark, mysterious, and reads books? Please, I’m surprised I don’t see drool coming out of your mouth,” Pepper says. “Rhodey, did you know about this?”

“Yes. I didn’t tell you because it was funny.”

Pepper huffs. Tony sinks into a comfy lounge chair. It’s gonna be a long night.

I just finished the book in one day, yes one fucking day (I slept at 4:27 AM so fucking happy, with a smile on my face), and so after waking up the next day I do have some thoughts. (I wrote this February 16th, and waited to post this after a few weeks so most people would have the chance to read it)

***this is extremely long, i’m sorry I just had to break it all down***

again... !!!SPOILERS!!!! 

I think the first thing I can say is that I wasn’t dissapointed. Sure, their were scenes that I wish we saw, more development in other places, but since the end goal was Nesta healing, I think we have flourished in that regard. 

But.... there are other issues that I have. 

For instance, how it seemed towards the end that Nesta wasn’t Nesta anymore.. but Feyre? In the sense of how soft spoken she was and discussing the child with Cassian. I feel towards the end she did lose a part of her angst, which isn’t really a bad thing and maybe that had to do with her healing because her angst is what drove her to hurt people or herself, but it still kind of felt like we lost her. The Nesta we loved, with her anger and hatred. I think my issue is that when she healed, it also changed her personality (which I get is a part of healing, and again am not saying is a bad thing at all, just kind of sad seeing your favourite character like that). 

Anyways, let’s start with the cons (or things I wish was in the book):

- I wish we had more angst between her and Cassian: So, I know their was angst, and sexual tension which I absolutely loved but I wanted more angst. More fighting, that sort of thing. I wanted them to have angry sex so fucking bad. It felt as if I needed that, but in the end the sex they did have was ansgty enough. Also wanted more cuddling time between them, we literally got none. Feyre projected them to be very hostile towards each other, and maybe in the beginning they were, but their could have been more.

- I wish they had spilled their hearts out to each other way more then they actually did: Basically, everything that they said in their heads, I wanted them to say out loud to each other. I wanted them to voice their trauma, their apologies, what they’ve been through, how they were actually feeling to each other out loud. Not in their heads, and then forget about it later or just not talk about it, no more of those looks that “told everything they wanted to say”. I wanted more communication between the two, wished their was more then when Cassian took Nesta on that hike, and she burst into tears. I wanted heartfelt one on ones, where their deepest secrets inside of themselves were shared. I JUST WANTED WHAT THEY WEREN”T SAYING TO BE SAID. 

- Even though I know it had to do with her healing, I wish Nesta didn’t apologize to the IC, when they didn’t apologize to her: Now I’m not saying that Feyre or Rhysand’s plans didn’t work, they obviously did. But I wish they apologized with how they treated her before and after, and not her apologize first. Granted, Nesta did apologize for the things she did that were wrong, but they didn’t either which irked me very greatly. 

- I NEEDED THAT CONVERSATION BETWEEN MOR AND CASSIAN: Mor was barley in the book, for reasons surley to be revealed in the next book but the fact their was no talk between Cassian and Mor, literally nothing made me royally pissed off. Their just needed to be a conversation, their just had to be, especially given what Mor said to Nesta in the beginning of the book. 

- THE FACT CASSIAN DIDN”T TELL NESTA HE LOVED HER OR GIVE HER ANY REASSURANCE: pissed me off. When Nesta was expressing herself, saying how she didn’t deserve Cassian, he didn’t give her the slightest reassurance that she was wrong. That she did deserve him, that she wasn’t as bad as she made herself be. Nesta tells Cassian she loves him AND HE DOES NOT, I REPEAT DOES NOT SAY IT BACKKKKKKK. this just made me so mad, this whole scene. 

- The sex during the hike, the whole hike tbh: SO, this hike was a turning point for Nesta, in a way  very good. She was able to cry and express what was eating at her inside, but I wish their was just more. Like more between her and Cassian. I wished that instead of them fucking for two days with her “bent over a rock”, that they had heartfelt talks about their trauma, unearthing it all. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sex in the book. But it just felt so out of place in that one part, and I just needed them to talk. To have a whole talk, a whole explosion of feelings. 

- How nesta changed at the end: I don’t like it. Why did she have to sacrifice her powers. AGAIN I understand why, I just wish it didn’t happen. I wanted her to keep her powers, mainly for herself then anything else.Yes, it was (again) a turning point in her growth, and her relationship with Feyre and Rhysand, but noooooo. Why did she give up death. LIKE I GET WHY but WHY. It just pissed me off, made me so mad. Nesta just changed, changed to the point where she was unrecognizable, and I am not sure if that was a good thing or not. 

- Why did she kneel to Amren: this was so unessecary to me. Like, I’m glad she apologized but something irks me inside seeing Nesta bow to anyone at all, and her and Amren (in my eyes atleast) are the same. They both said completley hurtful things, and Nesta should not have been the one to kneel to her, neither of them should have had to kneel tbh. They should have just talked it out, figured it out. Idk, that’s just me. 

- I feel like Nesta thawed out very quickly: by thawed out, her anger. her feelings. her emotions. In the excerpt in A court of frost and starlight, towards the end after starlight, Nesta says she doesn’t feel anything anymore. No shame, nothing. I feel as if the second she entered the house of wind she thawed out. She felt again (Not a bad thing), but it happened so quickly and I feel as if it wasn’t even acknowledged, like that specific change in her. 

- She forgave very quickly: again, I understand it has to do with her growth, but she forgave the way the IC treated her so quickly, as if it was all right and all her fault. Yes, Nesta is at fault for a lot of bad things that she did and said, but that doesn’t mean she is the only one who apologises. Their should have been a discussion, a talk between her and everyone else for how they slut shamed her, and treated her when she was in her lowest. At this point, it’s as if the IC is all right and correct, and yes when they intervened, Nesta got better, but that doesn’t change how they hurt her as well (if that makes any sense). 

- THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION: I think this speaks for itself, but the lack of communication between everyone in the book annoyed me so much. I wanted everyone to talk, to show their hand, their emotion and feeling. It’s what I needed. It’s what they all needed, IT JUST WHAT NEEDED TO HAPPEN. 

- Nesta not discussing everything in her: of course this will take its own time and patience, but I feel, us, as readers, and as this would be the only book between Nesta and Cassian that we deserved to know more about her mother, about Nesta (even though we did learn a lot) I guess I just wantd more, and wanted Cassian to understand that part of her. I wanted them to get closer to each other, besides the sex, in a sense they knew everything about each other and that their was no more room for doubt or questions. I’m just greedy and wanted more, because if this was the only book we’d get it was not enough!!!!!!

- How Nesta’s reasoning for not being with Cassian after the war is that she “didn’t deserve him”: that just made me mad. Sure, she can feel that way, but could it not have been about her PTSD? Be about her depression? Be because she hated what she was forced to be made into? surely, that is apart of the reasons but the fact she only expressed it as her not deserving Cassian annoyed me. All the emotions in her weren’t addressed.

- How the story ended with Feyre: This was Nesta’s healing growth, and the fact it ended with Feyre’s life and Nyx just made me mad. Of course, we want to know about Feyre and her life with the baby, but why did the book need to end on that note. Why could it not have ended with the mating ceremony, or something specifically about Nesta and Cassian? like why is it always Feyre. 

okay now pros 

- she found her own family: This was what I was absotlutley happy about, that she found her own family with Emerie and Gwyn. That they shared a special bond, so utterly close that Nesta was risking dying for them. That she found people who knew every bad thing she did and did not hate her for it, and still loved her the same (out of the IC).

- How her and Cassian started with a “favour for a favour” in terms of sex: I don’t know why but I absolutley loved it because it was different from Feyre and Rhysand, and fit Cassian and Nesta so perfectly. It was only fitting they’d do a “friends with benefits” arrangment. They are both sexual people, and the one way they could comfort each other, they matched in that aspect. It just felt so perfect to me, I don’t know why. 

- How Cassian didn’t ask about the other men she’d been with: I know this may seem weird, but I’m glad that Cassian didn’t ask to know about them, proving that he didn’t care about it, knowing it didn’t matter and was personal to Nesta. 

- How Cassian came to Nesta’s defence whenever he could: It was such a stark difference to how he acted around her in the other books, as if he was ashamed  of her. Now, he even snapped at Rhysand when Rhysand tried to get involved with Nesta’s relationships or friendships, or for believing Nesta to do evil things. This was something that I really loved in the book, I only wish we could have seen it happen with Mor. 

- That her and Cassian are not perfect at the end: How, in comparison to Feyre and Rhysand, Cassian and Nesta are utterly different. We only have one book, but in that one book, Cassian and Nesta didn’t lose themselves in the mating bond as Feyre and Cassian. They didn’t let it ruin themselves, or their personalities, more so acted the same. I love that Cassian and Nesta still had so much they need to uncover, about themselves and about each other, and that they weren’t finished, in the way Feyre and Rhysand were. 

- How Cassian always said “I don’t want to hurt you”: Probably the bare minimum, but it was super sweet and made me happy that their was someone out there that really didn’t want to hurt Cassian. Sure, he said it during sex, but it still shows the love and care he has for her. Idk, i just loved it, 

Overall, I really loved the book. I was left smiling at satisfied, even with the things that made me mad. I think that we all had such high expectations (understandably), and let that cloud over a lot. The book, to me, was good, and the only thing I want is another one of Nesta and Cassian (which we sadly won’t get).

What are your favourite genres to write?

Definitely fantasy with a sprinkles od sci-fi every now and then. I tend to go high fantasy in medieval period, although my current one is a curious mix between european medieval era and ancient Rome.

What do you write the most? (books, short stories, poetry, fanficion,...)

Probably fanfiction, honestly, because I don´t need to edit it that much. After that novels with some short stories on the side. Tried my hand at poetry once with the goddamn sorting hat song and it went... questonably.

What are your favourite tropes?

Found. Family. Other than that anything that focuses on character interaction and team dynamics. I prefer platonic because I cannot write romance to save my life.

What genres do you dislike?

I don´t dislike any genre if it´s well written, but I would not pick up a romance book on my own. I am running out of patience with post-apocalyptic zombie nonsense as well. That was overdone years ago, can we please stop?

An absolute mess. I usually start with a bad idea, put together a general vibe, run a bit with pantsing before I get stuck, do a bit more worldbuilding, maybe try to do an outline that I am going to end up ignoring, write some more while fiddling with the worldbuilding and then usually drop the project XD

What’s your favourite way to get writing advice? (books about writing, youtubers, podcasts, creative writing courses, blogs etc)

I am in love with Red´s Trope Talk over at Overly Sarcastic Productions. Writing blogs are good for reference unless they start telling me that “said is dead” (IS NOT!). I usually try to learn from youtubers discussing various parts of different books, what they liked and what they didn´t and then try to implement that.

What inspired your current wip?

The Harry Potter fanfiction? THe books and a different fanfiction. Question of Trust? I... actually don´t remember. I know that the setting is an experiment of mine and that the general premise came about from a review of a book whose name I don´t remember. I took that idea and ran with it.

What are some of your favourite books?

Unfortunetly Slovak fantasy series Mariotovi dediči (Marioto´s Heirs) is not translated to English. I love The Exact Opposite of Okay, The Books of Earthsea, Eragon (although I remember shamefully little of some of the characters) and Eon.

Overcoming personal differences, learning to respect other points of view, demolishing prejudices, two sides banding together against a greater evil, incompetent people being in charge, competent people being seriously undervalued, general confusion, lying, spite as a fuel,...

"Screw ups" - Damian Wayne x female!reader

Summary: The reader hates everything associated with love. No romance novels or movies would every cross and survive her path. She hates seeing couples kissing in public, hates seeing how her friends find their loving partners and only talk about that from then on but nevertheless she still tries to support them. But then she falls, she falls hard. And from all the people in the world it had to be Damian Wayne, her best friend. Someone she had sympathized with because he felt the same way about all this stuff. But now she wasn't sure anymore if she really hated all this stuff.

"Screw ups” - Damian Wayne x fem!reader

"No way" you huffed and crossed your arms before your chest. One eyebrow was raise as you looked at your friends, one of them holding a DVD case out to you. Big white letters spelled out the title: Titanic. "You all know I hate these kinds of movies. I thought we had agreed to watch anything else during our movie nights?" You and your closest friend group decided a long time ago to meet at least once every two weeks to watch one movie together. Where you would meet cycled through the group at first but now you would just meet by the person who picked the movie that time. And one condition you established was: Every movie was allowed as long as it wasn't primarily a romance movie. You had to settle on 'primarily' because otherwise all your friends wouldn't have agreed. But Titanic definitely didn't fall into that. Under no circumstances would you ever watch it. Your friends looked at themselves and snickered before turning back to you. "You really thought we didn't notice?" Confused you narrowed your eyes. Something was up. "Notice what?" "Oh my god, you really think we are blind, don't you?" one of them said with a shocked face. You couldn't tell if it was staged or not. But what you knew was that you probably wouldn't like the path this conversation was heading. "What the hell are you talking about?" You slowly grew annoyed, especially when your friends began to giggle again. "We saw you listening to 'All of Me' from John Legend." In an instant your eyes widen and you could feel your cheeks getting hot. Fuck. "No, you didn't! You couldn't... because I don't listen to that crap" you stumbled over your own words as you tried to deny it. But you had already lost the debate because it was true and they knew it already. "Don't try to deny it, (Y/N)" one said. "Yeah, we all saw the way you look at him." It felt like your heart stopped beating for a second. Your hands and feet suddenly felt so cold while you could feel the heat rising inside your chest towards your cheeks again. Fucking dammit, why were you blushing so goddamn much? "Who?" was the only thing you could say even though you already knew the answer. And they knew it too. "Who? You really think we are blind and dumb!" one of your friends said with pouty lips. "Who, you ask? Gotham's one and only billionaire's son Dam-" before they could finish their sentence you put your hands over their mouth, shushing them. "Don't you dare say it out loud! I'm not looking at anyone!" "Ow, it's so cute how you still try to deny it." You growled, the awkward heat from before was replaced with hot rage. "I'm not fucking cute! And everything you say and think is not true!" Good, why were you still trying to deny it? It had no use anyway. They would never let it go. They would never let you go. "It's so heartwarming!" "You definitely have to join us on a double date!" "I can't believe I'm living to this day! Witnessing (Y/N) having a crush." "But why did it have to be Damian? He's so cold." "No, they match perfectly! Two stones that will warm each other’s heart." "Stop it!" you yelled. "It's not cute or heartwarming it's fucking humiliating. I don't like it one bit and would gladly change my feelings back." It was silent for a few seconds before all your friends faces stretched into huge smiles. "She admitted it! She said she has feelings!" You only groaned and let yourself fall onto the coach before the TV, no longer listening to all their chit-chat. You knew you shouldn't have listened to that sappy song in public. Even with your headphones on it was stupid of you. Now they would never let it go. Oh god, they will make you watch all their favorite romance movies! And talk about their relationships endlessly. About dates they went on or poems they found and liked. Yikes. No, only because your body made you feel this way whenever you saw him didn't mean you suddenly liked all this shit. It was still fucking annoying and dumb. It was still something you didn't want for yourself. Of course you loved your friends but that was something completely different. For them you would do almost everything. You listened to them when they told you about their partners or dates and you always tried to be supportive. And you did the same for Damian. He was your best friend even though your body, your feelings demanded more. But you still didn't like it. You hated it. You would never watch a romantic movie or read a romance novel. You would never get roses and put them into a vase to see them slowly die over a few days. You would never run through the world tinted in pink. But you couldn't help it sometimes. You had found that song on accident. And you wanted to click it away but then you heard the first few words and it lulled you in. It made you feel like a prisoner. But it felt so good too. God, you were disgusting. "Guys, guys! We have a problem." Your eyes darted back to your friends who still stood in a circle and talked excited about you. "What?" You bend forward a little and worried what they were plotting again. "(Y/N) will never ever act on her feelings! She will never confess!" Oh no. You stood up before anyone else could speak up. All the attention was back on you. "No way, don't you dare tell him anything about this." "Oh, you admitted it to be him!" They started giggling … again. You huffed. "Okay, yeah I have a crush on Damian. So what? It's not like he will return it. So you better not tell him anything or I will make you pay. I don't want to lose the only friend that shares the same view about all this crap. All this feelings bullshit is only complicating everything and I'm just waiting for it to pass." All your friends that looked so excited only a few seconds ago now looked sad. They pitied you. One stretched their arm put towards you but you backed away. "God, I can't deal with this shit today. Go watch your movie without me. I'm leaving." You stormed to the door, grabbed your jacket while running and threw it on you before shutting the door behind you. Today was definitely not your day and you couldn't wait for it to end.

_________________________________ Oh, but the next day wasn't better in the slightest. All of your friends spammed your group chat with all kind of 'lovely' pictures they had found on the internet together with 'subtle' messages about love and feelings. You knew what they were trying to do. They wanted you to confess. But that would never happen. You would never let that happen. You silenced the chat and distracted you with anything else. There were a few clothing pieces that maybe needed to be cleaned? You did the laundry. You found dust on your dresser? You cleaned the whole apartment. Your favorite show was on TV? You dropped everything else and escaped into it. Well, your distraction held as long as your phone was silent because after maybe four or five episodes it dinged. You grabbed it, a little confused since you had silenced the group chat for 8 hours, but the message that now held your focus wasn't from your friends´ chat it was from your chat with Damian. Without knowing what it was about your heart began to beat faster and you could feel a small smile form on your lips. Shaking your head you tried to suppress it. 'Stop it, no. Don't be stupid.' But your body didn't obey you. You opened his chat:

"Are you ready?" A confused frown adorned your face. "Ready for what?" you texted back. It only took a few seconds for him to respond. "The art museum." Oh shit. Your eyes grew wide. In your struggle to forget all that feelings bullshit and Damian you actually forget the agreed meeting with Damian today. You looked at the clock: it's almost quarter past two and you were supposed to meet at two o'clock sharp. "Fuck." "I knew you would forget it." That somehow hurt even though you knew Damian was always rather blunt so he often said something hurtful he didn´t intend to be. Though, you also knew yourself to be pretty forgetful. But it wasn't often that you completely forgot a planned meeting. Most of the time you just forgot how long you had to walk or drive to arrive to the agreed place so you would almost always arrive there late.  But you would arrive. "I'm sorry. Tell me where you are and I'll be there in a minute!" He didn't respond but you still saw that he was online. Impatiently you waited for any kind of reaction that didn't come. Then suddenly the doorbell rang. Surprised you jumped a little and then slowly made your way towards the door. Opening it you had to look up to greet the person standing behind it. "Hello, (Y/N)" Damian said with a smirk. "Hey" you were only able to say and stepped aside to let him in. Closing the door afterwards you stood still for a second, pressed your eyes close and tried to calm your breathing before turning around to face him. "I'm so sorry, I was doing so much stuff today I completely lost track of the time." He waved you off. "It´s alright. I intended to pick you up anyway since Alfred isn´t driving us today. Your absentmindedness fitted very well into it." You huffed, crossed your arms before your chest and raised one eyebrow. "I'm not that forgetful" you stated annoyed and a little hurt. But you tried to remind yourself that he didn´t mean it that way. ´Pull yourself together and start thinking again!´ "Not normally at least" you added, dropped your arms to your sides and walked past him to your room. "Let me change and we can be on our way." You looked at yourself through the mirror on your bedroom wall: baggy shirt and sweatpants. Nothing unusual, nothing Damian hadn't seen you in before but you felt a little embarrassed anyway. 'Stupid, mushy feelings.' Opening your dresser you grabbed anything else to wear. "How was movie night yesterday?" Damian's voice rang through the living room to your ears. "I left early" you stated in a matter-of-fact manner and tossed the baggy shirt on your bed. "Why is that?" You groaned before putting on the new top. Stripping yourself of your sweatpants you also tossed them away before opening your wardrobe and grabbing clean looking jeans. You also put them on and then left your room after one final check in the mirror. Damian had took a seat on your couch and turned around to look at you. "They tried to make me watch titanic" you finally answered him. You made a gaging sound which made Damian snicker. Rolling your eyes you grabbed your phone and keys. "Now come on let's go, I kept you waiting long enough." _________________________________ The museum was more entertaining than you thought when you agreed to go. Well, you couldn't really decline since you had chosen last time and Damian definitely didn't like what you made him do. You had dragged him to Gotham's fair. And even though you sometimes forgot he was the son of Bruce Wayne the general public definitely didn't. Most of the time he just tried to escape the paparazzi while he left you to yourself. He said he didn't want you to be involved with all this stuff and you gladly agreed. You didn't have to end up on the front page of every tabloid of Gotham. "Who is Damian Wayne's new girlfriend?" "Gold digger alert! Someone is throwing themselves at the billionaire's youngest son." God, you wouldn't be able to take a breath without them writing about it. At first you just grew more annoyed by them by the second but at the end of the day you were mostly sad that you couldn't really enjoy the time together. That's why he wore slightly more casual clothes than he would usual wear right now. He didn't want the day to end like the last time the two of you tried to have fun. And lucky for both of you nobody seemed to notice or care, at least for now. But what was undoubtedly boring was looking at all of the drawings. Damian wouldn't leave out even one! And when you questioned him about it and if it was fun to him he only responded with one of his typical sayings: "I wasn't raised to have fun." In the past you were a little surprised and worried whenever he would say something like that especially because he never would provide any specific reasoning or any kind of explanation even if you asked him directly. But now you only raised one eyebrow at him before deciding to change his grouchy mindset. So that´s why you decided to make it a little more entertaining for yourself and him. While Damian still mostly tried to figure out the deeper meaning of the pictures you just blurted out the first thing you thought about when looking at them with the goal of making him laugh and have fun even if it´s only for a little while. Currently the two of you were looking at Jean-Honoré Fragonard's 'The Swing' and once again you just couldn't stop yourself. "It should have been called 'The S-Wingman'." Damian turned around to look at you rather irritated. "Don't look at me like that. Look!" you pointed to a man on the right side of the picture almost engulfed into the shadows. He was holding some strings that were attached to the swing the lady was sitting on. "They definitely planed it so the other one could look up her skirt." Even though he really didn't want to Damian couldn't suppress his laughter completely. Low grunts left his lips before he groaned in annoyance. "You are insufferable. Why am I tormenting myself with you?" You punched him in the rips playfully and staged a wounded look. "How dare you insult me, you arrogant prick" you said with a vain sounding voice. "You just don't get the higher understanding of art, fucking loser" you joked. Damian huffed under his breath: "Watch your tone." You knew he didn't like it whenever he heard you cussing but well, he just had to get over it. Besides, you already were swearing a lot less when you were around him then when you were with anyone else. "Deal with it, Wayne."

You two kept joking around when you suddenly saw something reflecting in the corner of your eye. You turned towards it only slightly before realizing what or better who it was. A man with a far too obvious disguise and a big camera -far too professional to be a tourist's camera- was looking at the two of you. With worry in your eyes you tugged at Damian's sleeve to get his attention and then mouthed 'paparazzo' as soon as he looked at you. He noticed them only a second later. Grabbing your arm he walked into the crowd, trying to lose the man following you. Damian fell into a sprint as soon as you both left the room the paparazzo was still in. He directed you to an almost empty room in which a new, only temporary artwork was standing in: a weird constellation of mirrors. It looked like a mirror cabinet. But what you also noticed was that this room didn't have another exit. Before you could ask Damian what his plan was he dragged you along with him again. It was this moment you realized that it didn't just look like a mirror cabinet, it was a mirror cabinet. And you would be hiding in it. Well, at least that seemed to have been Damian's plan. The only problem: it wasn't constructed to be a functioning mirror cabinet. There was only one way leading right through it with only one small corner in which you would be out of view. This meant that the two of you were now tightly pressed against each other, trying to fit into the small space. With Damian's rather big frame? Almost impossible. You never were so glad you were smaller than someone else because if you would have met his height you would have had to press your face against his. And with your current feelings bullshit? God that would have been a living hell. But maybe that would have been better than being almost squeezed to death by his chest. You were never so close to him before. You could feel every muscle under his shirt move, his heart beating and his breath on your head. You tried to breathe in deep to calm yourself down but that only made it more awkward since you now knew exactly what he smelled like. 'God, please somebody end me right here and now!' An annoyed almost helpless sounding grunt left your lips which only made Damian press further into the corner. "Be quiet! If he finds us now the headlines will never end" he hissed. You tried to look up at him, squeezed your head past his chest and caught his eyes. "It was your fucking idea to hide here in this awkward position!" you whisper-yelled and glared at him. God, you could feel the heat rising up in you again. 'Not cool, body' you thought. You were definitely blushing right now. Then your eyes widen in realization. "When do we know that he left?" Well, you didn't. You stayed in that position for too many minutes. After you almost had a heart attack Damian finally moved and let you breathe out deeply in relief. "Anyone out there?" you asked but didn't move. Somehow you couldn't, you were frozen in fear of stumbling. Damian shook his head and turned towards you again. He laughed a little. "God, if someone would have found us..." "We would have seemed like the most disgusting couple ever!" you finished his sentence out of reflex and laughed as well. You were such a mess right now. Your emotions were on a roller-coaster and your knees weak. 'Pathetic.' "TT, ironic." You giggled. Yes, giggled. You never giggled. You laughed, you grunted, you grinned, you smirked but never ever in your life before had you ever been giggling. You had to leave this place right now. "Let's get out of here" you said. Still snickering -you somehow didn't seem to be able to stop- you grabbed his wrist and dragged him along. Maybe some fresh air would calm you down. _________________________________ After leaving the museum -you promised Damian to go there with him some other time since he couldn't finish his walk through- you found your way to the nearest park. Unfortunately so did many couples too. Since it was the one nice day in Gotham many decided to go picnicking. Your thoughts were literally split in half. On the one hand you bickered with Damian about how insufferable they all were and how you hated all this sappy nonsense -and you really did hate it- but on the other hand you wished it to be the two of you sitting on a blanket, looking deeply into each other's eyes, kissing. Shaking your head you forced yourself to stop. You whished all this feelings would just stop. It would only end up ruining everything. You didn't want to lose your best friend just because of some chemicals in your body that made you feel and act like a complete idiot. You needed something to distract yourself. Don't think about the people around you. Don't think about what they do and how much you would like to do that too currently. Don't think about Damian in this way! Stop! "Are you alright, (Y/N)?" You flinched, caught off guard and looked up. You had stopped moving so Damian was a few feet in front of you. He examined you with one eyebrow raised and waited for a response. The green of his eyes looked so vivid in this moment it completely sucked you in. You were definitely starring. "Ye-yeah, everything's fine." You cursed yourself silently for stuttering. 'Get your shit together!' "Just lost in thought." Your eyes wandered behind Damian and you stopped talking. Today was not your day. Before you could speak up, grab Damian and leave or do literally anything it was already too late. "(Y/N)!" one of your friends yelled. They were running towards you now, with huge smiles on their faced that read ´Got'cha´. Damian looked confused but also vaguely pissed off before he turned around. You walked up to him, standing next to him now before your friends could reached the two of you. Damian greeted them briefly but you just glared at them with a death stare. 'Don't you dare!' 'Oh, we dare.' "Hey Damian!" your friends greeted back. "What a coincidence meeting you here!" "Why are you all here?" you asked sternly. Some began to snicker. Oh, something was up. They had something planned. "After our movie night yesterday we decided to make it a surprise sleepover. And because of the nice weather we then decided to go walk around town together" one explained. "We would have asked you to join but we knew you were busy." You nodded. For only a split second all your friends looked at themselves before shifting their attention back to you and Damian. They had agreed on something silently you just knew it. "That reminds me" one started and stared at Damian while continuing to talk. "How was your da-" "Great" you interrupted immediately before they could finish their sentence. Oh. My. God. They really dared to do it. They wanted to make you confess or they would do it for you. You could feel your cheeks heat up again. Fuck. You hoped Damian didn´t notice anything but knowing him now for quite some time he probably already suspected something was up. One quick glance from the corner of your eye confirmed it. His eyebrows were knitted while his eyes darted between your friends. He was already trying to put the pieces together. "Great" you repeated. "Except for one paparazzo following us." "Oh, how unfortunate." You could have smelled the sarcasm from across the street. You knew what they meant. You had told them about the last meeting with Damian. And they knew what a picture would have caused and thought that that maybe would make you confess. Oh, but you won't break. You just couldn't. "Hey, how about you two join us?" one suggested. "Yeah! We are on the search for some ice-cream right now. Come with us." You wanted to decline immediately but that would have made Damian even more suspicious. So you pressed your lips together and looked up at him. You asked him silently with one raised eyebrow if he would like to join your friends. He knew how they were. He knew their tendency to talk about all the stuff you two disliked. So you hoped he would decline for you but he didn't. He shrugged his shoulders and said: "Whatever." Which basically meant he just gave his approval. 'Goddammit, Damian you will be the death of me!' You sighted and nodded. "Okay."

You never felt so exhausted while being with your friends. You were always on the watch, listening to what they said ready to intervene if necessary. But they only teased you, you knew it. They used weird words that had never left their mouths before -code words- which only made you even more paranoid. You were considering killing them. Well, not really. But you wanted to get back at them so bad for making this so hard for you. You had thought they noticed how much you hated your current situation but it seemed like they didn't care. You felt yourself drifting away in your thoughts so you shook your head. 'Come on, focus!' You couldn’t let them tell him. Then suddenly one of your friends squealed in excitement which made you jump in surprise. "Look! So sweet." You followed their sight to see a man proposing to his girlfriend. Of course, all your friends would like that. They began to swoon over it and talking about how they wished this for themselves too. "Uh, yikes" you said under your breath and crossed your arms. Someone pricked you in the side which made you turn around. But only Damian was standing to your right and his arms were tightly pressed against his sides. He felt your gaze and turned towards you. Immediately you could feel your cheeks getting hot. You looked away, now staring at the ground. Digging your nails into the flesh of your arms you focused only on your breathing. Or at least you tried to. Your thoughts were torturing you. You could only think about Damian. About his eyes, how they shined in the summer sun like all the hues of nature. Like the kind of sparking green of the grass that fought its way to the surface after a cruel, unforgiving winter. About his inky hair which reminded you of the pelt of a black wolf. Groomed but somehow still a little intentional messy in the most mystical, dangerous way. About his smell that hadn't left your nose since the museum. Fresh and woody like nature but with hints of his oil paints you knew he always used. But there had been something else, something more, something tougher. Wouldn't you know it better you would almost say he smelled a little bit like steel too. You thought about how his body felt pressed against your own, his heat slowly passing over to you, the beating of his heart. "Earth to (Y/N). Hello?" You blinked rapidly and looked up. You were surrounded by your friends who looked at you with staged concern. They tried to suppress their wicked grins. How did they know what you were thinking about? What the hell was going on? "Your face is so red, are you alright?" "Do you need something to drink? Sit down?" "We don't want you to have a heatstroke." You shushed them by shaking your head, your arms dropped to your sides. "No, don't worry. I'm not having a heatstroke" you said. But your friends wouldn't let you be. Of course not. They had a mission to fulfill. "Well, what else could it be?" One touched your forehead and cheeks. "You feel really hot." "If it's not a heatstroke what else?" "Are you upset?" "Were you thinking about something?" "Or someone?" You froze like a deer caught in the headlights of a car. Now your friends didn't even try to suppress their grins. They had you cornered. "What are you talking about?" you said in a dismissive manner. Your hands began to get sweaty and your heart beat faster than ever before. You felt dizzy and angry and anxious. Damian's presence didn't make it easier for you since you could feel him beside you, his gaze burning on your skin. How could you escape this situation? God, what to say? What to do? "Well, if it's not a heatstroke maybe you are just blushing." Your eyes grew wide. Oh fuck. "N-no" you wanted to add more, say more but your throat felt so tight, you couldn't speak up. Out of instinct you tried to back away only to pump into someone. You didn't even have to turn around to know that it was Damian, the grins of your friends already told you so. You flinched away from him, afraid of his touch. No, you couldn't let it happen. You held your hands up defensively trying to get some distance between you and him. "Are you feeling alright?" Wouldn't you know it any better you would have thought that Damian was hurt about your reaction. But your mind probably just played you tricks. "Oh, (Y/N)'s peachy" one of your friends said and hung an arm over your shoulder. "Hasn't she told you?" another added. Damian looked at you confused but you couldn't meet his gaze. You felt so helpless and idiotic. Why did you tell your friends? Why didn't you just deny it? Why were you stuttering? "No" Damian said a little wary. He also seemed pretty helpless but you were on a completely different level. You were absolutely with no doubt on the highest anxiousness and nervousness level with no clue what to do to prevent what was coming. "Well" another friend began and also put their arm around you. "Our little Miss 'Love is bullshit' has a-" "Stop!" you bellowed while breaking free from your friends grasps. Hot rage bubbled inside of you. "What the hell is wrong with you? You are supposed to be my friends! " Your breathing was livid. "I can't believe I'm dealing with you all!" You tugged at your hair, trying to not break out in tears right then and there. That would only be embarrassing. Not that all this wasn't deeply embarrassing anyway. "God, I-why... Aah!" you yelled not knowing what else to do, turned around, turned away from your friends and stormed of. Or at least you tried to. You only got away a few feet before someone stopped you. Damian had run after you and now stood in your way. Looking up at him you prayed you wouldn't start crying. "What's your problem?" he asked still pretty confused but now also annoyed. The day hadn't gone as he planned or imagined it to go. "Nothing" you tried to sound dismissing but your voice broke at the end. "I see something is bothering you so don´t try lying." "It's nothing!" you said anyway, clenched your teeth and walked around him. You had to get out of here. You had let it went too far even though you knew all this feelings stuff would destroy everything you had. You doubled your fists, biting your tongue. "Stop avoiding it, stop avoiding me and tell me!" Damian yelled behind you. You could hear his footsteps following you. "Let me be!" But he didn't. He leaped forward and grabbed your shoulders, turning you around in the progress. His gaze was intense, sucked you in again. No! You shook your head. You couldn't. "Cut it and talk to me" he began. "What's your problem?" "You." The word had left your mouth without thinking. "What-" he started but was interrupted by you. "You are my fucking problem!" you screamed and regretted it immediately. Your eyes went wide and you covered your mouth with your hands. You could hear your friends gasp. Their plan hadn't gone like they imagined either. God, you were an idiot. What the hell were you doing! Your changes were now definitely ruined, not that you had any to begin with. "What did I do that makes me so repulsive to you? Everything seemed fine before" Damian said and let you go. Now you were pretty sure he felt hurt even though he didn´t show it directly. The way his eyes hardened to shut you out told you everything. You stepped back a little, shocked about what and how you said it. "Dami- God, that's not-" you stuttered and stumbled over your own words again. Tugging at your hair you groaned helplessly. ´What the hell, it´s too late now anyway. Might just give him the truth now.´ "You make me act like such a loser and I hate it and I love it at the same time" You just said not really knowing you were the one speaking. And when you noticed what you said it was already too late because you no longer could stop the flow of words leaving your mouth. "I have a crush on you." Nobody said anything for a few seconds before you spoke up again. "And I hate it!" you didn't look up, too afraid of meeting his gaze. "I fucking hate the way you make me feel. I hate to feel the heat bubbling inside of me. I hate that it had to be you because I don't want to lose the thing we had before I fucked it up. I don't want to become one of those couples I despised whenever I see them making out in public. And at the same time I do! I want to touch you, be around you, look at you, kiss and kill you simultaneously for making my feel this way. I-" you couldn’t think about anything else you could or should add. You looked up, looked at his green eyes and just waited for any kind of reaction that didn't come. He seemed frozen, maybe even shocked. You had never seen Damian caught off guard, startled like a deer in headlights, unable to form any responds. Not even a disgusted "pathetic" left his lips, something you were sure he would say after your confession because you knew how he felt about all this. You knew him more than he maybe realized. And maybe that was what had brought your downfall. You let him get to close to you. You were at fault. You were the one ruining everything because of your stupid feelings. "I should go" you said, turned away from him and walked away. You ran so fast you didn't even hear your friends yell after you. You didn't even see them while turning away because hot tears clouded your vision. The only thought on your mind during your run home was that you fucked it up. You fucked up badly. _________________________________ "Just let this day end already" you begged while tossing and turning in bed. It was late, something after midnight but your mind wouldn't shut up, wouldn't let you drift off into a peaceful sleep. You were far to rattled. Why had you told him? Why hadn't you just sucked it up and continued to pretend everything was alright? ´Because you had wanted him to pull you towards him. You wanted him to hug you, hold you and do all those stupid things you never thought you would like.´ Groaning you threw away your blanket and stood up. Grabbing your hoodie that was laying on the floor you put it and your shoes on. You took your phone from the nightstand and walked to the window. The cold night air that hit you after opening it made you shiver slightly. You buried yourself deeper into the comforting warmth of the hoodie and climbed through the window and to the fire escape. A small sight escaped your lips as you closed your eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the fresh night air on your skin. It wasn't often that Gotham felt so peaceful. You turned your head and looked up. Only three stories higher and you would be in the roof, your safe zone. Climbing up the metal ladder was easy, cold but easy. Your hands shivered after you reached the roof but it was definitely worth it. You loved to look over the city from your point. The building you were living in was definitely not the highest, so you couldn't see everything from above but you liked it anyway. You could sit on the edge all night, watching the streetlights flicker and listening to your music. It made you forget where you were, where you lived and how bad it got sometimes. But now the city was uncharacteristically quiet. Only one police siren was audible from your location. It was so far away you couldn't even see the red and blue lights flicker through the streets. You sat down on the edge and unlocked your phone. Opening the music app you pressed the random button. You had gone up to the roof to forget this day, to try to get your mind at ease but of course one of those sappy songs you were listening to currently was the one that was selected. A song you would have hated a few weeks prior but now you only rolled your eyes, locked your phone and listened to it. The soft tones danced through the night air and slowly but surely made you relax. You still couldn't stop thinking about today but it didn't feel so suffocating anymore. Sighting you let yourself fall backwards, now lying flat on the roof so you could look up at the sky. The beauty of today's day was still holding on which meant that not that many clouds were covering the sky so you could look at the stars. Everything was peaceful up there and you probably would have fallen asleep if someone hadn't interrupted your peace of mind. "What are you doing?" You flinched and jumped up in surprise. Turning around you met the white lenses of non-other than Batman's sidekick: Robin. "God fucking dammit, you almost gave me a heart attack" you cussed and turned back towards the edge, looking at the city again. "Not very heroic of you." The vigilante only huffed. "I asked you something." "Why do you care? It doesn't concern you anyway but if I'm planning something evil I will let you know, don't worry" you spat, not in the mood to talk to anyone right now. Why was he here anyway? Didn't he have better things to do? "Shouldn't you run around town, I don't know, safe some people and stuff." You could hear faint steps coming closer to you. Peeking from the corners of your eyes you looked at him. He stood beside you, his arms crossed and jaw clenched. You had never been this close to any of Gotham's heroes before which was a good thing because normally that would mean you were in serious trouble and needed saving. But nothing was going on here so you didn't really know why he was with you right now. "Gotham is quiet today" was the only thing he responded to your question. You huffed, placed your arms on your knees and laid your head in your hands. Dangling your legs you let your eyes wander over Gotham but the vigilante beside you seemed to be on high alert since he looked around profusely. "Sit down and hold still you are making me twitchy" you said while darting your eyes back forward. It took a few seconds then he finally let himself relax a bit. He sat down with a few feet of distance and took his hood of. Immediately his dark hair got caught by the gentle wind and framed his sharp face. "You still haven't answered my question" he said after a while. "I have to disagree, I gave you an answer but it just wasn't the one you were looking for" you stated matter of factly. Robin groaned in response. You tried to concentrate on anything else, on your music that was still playing, on the cold air tingling the back of your neck, on the hard ground you were sitting on. Anything that would make you forget and relax again. "What are you listening to?" Robin asked and broke the comforting silence again. You darted him an irritated look. Why wouldn't he leave you alone? "I don't know, I pressed the random button." You answered in hope he would shut up then. But he didn't. "What's your name?" "Why should I tell you?" Robin turned towards you now as well. "Because I asked" he said likewise annoyed. "You wouldn't tell me yours if I asked so..." you responded half-heartedly and turned away. You could hear police sirens echoing through the streets again somewhere in the distance. "Why are you up here?" "Why do you care?" "Why are you so dismissive?" You looked at him. Your annoyance slowly turned into anger. "I don't know you and frankly I don't really want to talk to you or anyone right now. So maybe just do me a favor and fuck off." Robin didn't say anything but he also didn't move. An annoyed grunt left your lips. "Something is on your mind" he said without looking at you. "What's your fucking problem?" you hissed which made him knit his eyebrows, or at least you interpreted it in that way since his brows were covered by his mask. His jaw was clenched tightly again as if he had to suppress something he wanted to say. "What is my problem? You are the one being uncommunicative" he snarled back at you, his white lenses narrowed. You straightened your back and glared at him. "I didn't ask for your time. And maybe all those vigilante activities made you deaf or something but I don't want to talk to you" you said dwelling the last words very clearly annoyed. "I had a bad day- no I had a bad weekend and I just want to be alone right now." Robin's face softened a bit. He still seemed pretty annoyed but his jaw wasn't clenched anymore and his eyebrows relaxed slightly. "But maybe talking about it would help" he said quietly without pressuring you to answer him for once. You groaned and let yourself fall backwards again. One arm draped over your eyes. "I fucked up badly" you said no longer able to hold it in you. "I confessed something to my best friend and probably ruined our friendship." "Why do you think that?" You lifted your arm up to look at the vigilante again. "If I'm answering your questions you have to answer mine as well" you demanded. Robin hesitated. "Don't worry I won't ask you anything about your real self. Besides you don't have to tell me anyway if you don't want to answer a question." He still didn't say anything for a while before sighting: "Deal." You grinned in victory before letting your face fall blank again. "Why are you here? And don't come at me with 'Gotham is quiet'. You could relax at home or something but you are here. Why?" you asked but no answer was heard. Robin wasn't looking at you anymore, his eyes were wandering over the rooftops of Gotham's buildings. "I had a rough day, too. I think someone is angry with me" he responded finally. "Someone told me something important today and I think I didn't react properly and hurt their feelings in the process." You huffed. "You probably should have explained it better to them then." You could hear an almost inaudible, irritated sight coming from Robin. "They weren't listening." "Well, maybe they should have heard you out then." "They couldn't. They ran away before I was able to speak up." A weird feeling crept over you, something strangely familiar. You searched for his gaze but he was still looking straight forward. "Well, maybe they just couldn't stand what they imagined the answer would have been." The two of you were silent after that, nobody dared or wanted to speak anymore. After a while you grabbed your phone and looked at the time: almost two in the morning and you had to go to school tomorrow. Sighting you stood up. "I'm going to sleep, I have school tomorrow" you said and walked to the fire escape but turned towards the vigilante one last time. "Maybe you should too. Whoever you really are you probably still have a normal life." He nodded in response and also stood up. Walking to the other side of the building he grabbed his grappling hook. "Good night" he said before shooting it to a higher building. He was gone before you were able to respond. _________________________________ Waking up the next day -or rather four hours later- you felt awful. You just wanted to go back to sleep but you couldn't miss school today even though you really didn't want to walk into Damian today. Or every again for that matter. So that's why you avoided him all day. You walked to class not waiting for him -what you would have done normally- and ran out of the room before he could approach you. You felt so silly doing that but you just didn't have any other options. Your friends tried to talk to you but you avoided them too. Still too pissed at them for what they did. Or for what they made you do. Today was a living hell but after the last two days you could almost say you accustomed to it. You were only able to relax the moment you shut your apartment door closed behind you. Breathing in deeply you let yourself fall onto the bed and fell asleep immediately. You woke up hours later, the sun was already beginning to set when you realized you had still a lot of stuff to do. Groaning you stood up and dealt with everything. You even had enough energy to cook something. After you cleaned everything up you looked at the clock. It already was pretty late and completely dark outside but because of your nap you didn't feel tired. Sighting you decided to go up to the roof again. To your surprise somebody else already was on it when you arrived there. "What are you doing here again?" you asked while hoisting yourself up over the edge and sat down beside him. "Enjoying the view" Robin answered but you could swear you heard uncertainty in his voice. You arched one eyebrow at him. "For real?" you couldn’t help but ask in a sarcastic manner. "Pretty sure." "Why here? I've seen your grappling hook yesterday" you started and looked forward to the city. "You could swing up to Wayne Tower and not sit on this pathetic copy of a roof." A low sight left his lips. "What would be the difference?" "A magnificent view over all of Gotham?" you shot back. He only muttered something under his breath that sounded an awfully lot like ´Whatever´. You however would love to see this entire city from above. "I bet you would be so high up that you'd be able to breathe clean, fresh air" you sighted now fully engulfed within your imagination. "Seeing all of Gotham's lights flicker, being close to the stars. You probably would even be able to see the ocean." "Do you want to go there?" Your eyes snapped to Robin who was also looking at you. "What?" you asked and blinked confused. "Do you want to go to the roof of Wayne Tower?" he repeated. You still were a little shocked with his proposition. "Well, yeah. It would be cool but I don't think-" "I can bring you there" he uttered directly. Your eyes shone in excitement. You didn't even care that he had interrupted you. "Hell yeah!" He stood up with a smirk and held his hand out to you. You were only hesitant for a second before accepting it. "Hold on tight" he said and pulled you towards him. A little awkward you wrapped your arms around his neck. You were one hundred percent certain he would twine one arm around your waist but luckily for him he didn't dare to do it. But would you even be able to hold your weight all alone? Before you could speak up to tell him your concern he already shot the hook to the next building. You felt your body being pulled forward so you hold on as tight as possible. You just had to be able to do it on your own. "That was awesome!" you declared a little out of breath. It had been absolutely amazing swinging through Gotham but at the same time it had been a little terrifying too. Now the two of you were standing on the very top of Wayne Enterprises. Your legs were a little shaky but that didn't stop you from slowly creeping to the edge. Sitting down you let your eyes wander over the whole of Gotham, enjoyed the fresh air and wind blowing through your hair. "Damn" you were only able to say. Gotham was a shithole through and through but at night with the flickering street lights and so high up you couldn't hear the police sirens it felt really peaceful. You stared into the distance when your eyes widen. "You really can see the ocean from here" you whispered. You were so stunned you didn't even notice Robin taking place next to you with almost no distance between you two. Well, after your swinging adventure it really wasn't necessary anymore. But because he was so close now and before you were able to smell the leather of his uniform, the steel of his katana that was attached to his hip and a faint scent of wood and nature that hung on him like a shadow. The strange feeling from yesterday slowly fought its way to the surface again. "You didn't have to bring me here, I wasn't exactly nice to you yesterday but thank you" you finally broke the silence. He only grunted in response. You guessed that he wasn't angry at you and if he was he could have just dropped you earlier. "How are things?" you started again. "With them, I mean." Robin shrugged his shoulders. "I think they're still upset with me" he said still not looking at you. "They avoided me all day." "I'm sorry but maybe they just aren't ready to talk about it?" you suggested. "Why do you think that?" You scratched your neck uncomfortably. "Well, I kind of did the same thing" you muttered. "What happened between you and your best friend?" Robin asked and you remembered that you didn't really tell him. "I-Ehm" you spoke up but stopped. "God, it's so embarrassing and fucking stupid." You buried your head in your hands. "Watch your tone" Robin muttered under his breath and bit his lips immediately afterwards. You just ignored it and rolled your eyes. "I confessed to him that I have a crush on him" you finally said. Why were you even telling him that? Well, he didn't know you so he hopefully wouldn't judge you. "And I hate it so much" you continued. "Why is that?" he asked with an arched eyebrow. "Because I hate this mushy feelings nonsense. All my other friends are very romantic and bubbly about this topic and I just can't stand it. Or I used to at least. God, I don't know anymore. But he was the only one that got me. We could walk around Gotham and bicker about all those couples, make jokes about how disgusting it was, how neither of us liked or wanted that for ourselves. But then of course I had to catch feelings and it had to be him. And my friends found out and teased me and hinted on hit while he was there and..." you had to stop yourself to take a breath. You were definitely rambling. "And I ended up confessing and messed our friendship up." You lifted your head up but didn't look at Robin. Somehow you didn't dare to. For a few moments you only tried to calm yourself down again, breathing in deeply and staring at the lights of the city. "And I don't have the courage to face him" you finished your ramble. Robin reached one hand out to you but stopped before he touched you. Instead he pressed one finger against his earpiece and furrowed his brows. You stared at him from the corner of your eye. "Yes, I will be there shortly" he said to whoever was on the other end of the line before turning his attention back to you. "I'm sorry but I have to go" he said and stood up, holding his hand out to you again. You took it without hesitating this time and wrapped your arms around his neck again. No time to waste since he was needed somewhere and you didn´t want to be the one to keep him away when he was needed. You landed on your roof only a few minutes later, no shaking legs this time. You let go of Robin who opened his mouth but didn't speak up. Probably because he was listening to the message through his ear piece again so you just waited. "Yeah, I'm only a few streets away" he answered the person and then looked back at you. "Go inside, something is up only a few blocks from here" he ordered. You only huffed. "I can handle it if something should happen here" you responded and crossed your arms over your chest. Robin´s lenses narrowed. "I didn't ask." For a few seconds the two of you just stared at each other passive aggressively before you rolled your eyes and nodded, giving your okay. You could hear police sirens coming closer. Something big really must be happening only around the corner. Robin had turned towards the sound and grabbed his hook. But before shooting it he turned towards you one last time with some of his dark hair fallen into his face. "Good night and stay safe, (Y/N)" he said and disappeared in a hurry. "I-" you started and frowned but he was already gone. "I never told him my name." You sat on your roof quietly for a few more minutes even though you agreed you would go inside, his smell still in your nose and the picture of his black, messed up hair in your mind. The smell. A tough smell of leather and steel mixed with the softness of nature and freshly cut wood. And if you weren't imagining things he also smelled a little like oil too. "Oil?" you wondered. Then your eyes widen in realization. "Oh, fuck." _________________________________ How did you not realize it sooner? The voice. The way he spoke. How he didn't leave you alone on the first day of your meeting. His height and appearance. How he reminded you of your foul mouth. Finally his smell and him knowing your name. To say you were livid would have been an understatement but you somehow also felt really numb since you connected the dots. You stayed at home today. You didn't dare to go to school today. But now you were sitting on the roof again, hoping he would show up. But the time went on and everything kept quiet. 'Maybe something happened he had to deal with today' you thought while dangling your legs over the edge. It was already a few hours after midnight and even though you were rather tired and yawning profusely you would stay on the roof all night if you had to. The soft tunes of some random song were lulling you in again, so much that you didn't hear him landing behind you. "You´re still up" he said in a stunned voice but not questioningly. It was more of an objective statement. Nevertheless it made you turn around in shock. "Can you like not do that every time you come here?" you asked and pressed one hand against your wildly beating heart. Even though you didn't really know what the real reason was. His arrival or simply his presence? "Sit down, I have to talk to you about something" you commanded and turned away from him. He followed your request and sat down beside you. "What is it?" he asked with concern in his voice he desperately tried to cover up with irritation but you noticed it anyway. Now that you knew you suddenly were able to read him. "You want to tell me something?" you answered with a counter question. He only raised one eyebrow in confusion. The silence wasn't comfortable it was tense. You collected your thoughts before turning towards him. "I know" you only said but he seemed to understand it immediately because now both of his eyebrows were arched in shock. You kneeled down in front of him, your face only inches away from his nose. "Why didn't you tell me? Why did you play me like that? Did you enjoy how I made a fool out of myself in front of you again?" you couldn’t help but yell at him. You felt hurt and betrayed. "I can't believe you did that to me!" "Stop. Listen to me before you draw one of your conclusions again" he growled, now also kneeling in front of you. You crossed your arms before your chest and huffed. "One of my conclusions? Again!" you howled but stopped yourself and shrugged your shoulders in a downgrading manner. "Okay, sure. Explain yourself then" you snarled. "What else was I supposed to do? You avoided me, didn't even let me respond to your confession" he spit back with clenched teeth. "It was the only way to talk to you." "Maybe I didn't want to talk to you about it yet, Damian!" you threw back at him. "I despise the way I feel. I wanted to let it pass, never tell you about it but then all this crap happened. And it messed everything up." You no longer could meet his gaze so you stared at ground, slow backing away. "I fucked it up. And I just can't..." Robin, or rather Damian stayed silent also looking away. Hugging your knees you placed your head on them and watched over the city again. You had to calm down first before doing anything else you might regret again. "Were you telling the truth that day?" he suddenly asked which made you look at him again. You wanted to respond immediately but he interrupted you. "Except hating all that feelings stuff" he added. You closed your mouth again, too ashamed to answer him. "I don't know. I'm not sure" you finally answered. "I know that I still don't like seeing couples being completely over each other, or cheesy rom coms or stuff like that but... I think I wouldn't mind it if I would do this things with you" you stopped and looked at him but you couldn't meet his green eyes only his white lenses. "God, that sounds so disgustingly sweet." That last part made him chuckle which made you laugh a little as well even though it was more of a nervous laughter. "You said that I didn't let you speak that day so... you can do that now" you said. Did you even want to hear it? His response? Suddenly you felt very vulnerable. You had opened up to him, confessed your feelings and he could break you down with one single word. "Well, I would have told you that-" he began, not stuttering even once. You felt jealous. Perfect Damian Wayne didn't even stumble over his own words now. He edged forward, towards you so he would be as close to you as you were to him before. He spoke up again: "That I'm relieved you feel so for me because I would have not been able to pretend any longer." Your brows narrowed in confusion before your eyes finally widen in realization. "Wait, hold on. Wh-what?" you stammered and blinked furiously. "Did you just-" "Return your confession? Yes." You backed away out of instinct but only a few inches. Your mouth opened and closed many times without sound coming out of it. Far too rattled, caught off guard to form any words or sentences. "Hang on" you managed to choke out. Pressing your forehead against your hand you needed a few seconds to process what he had just said to you. "You want to tell me that you -you! The only other person I know who hates all this feelings nonsense- is returning my feelings?" you said questioningly and faced him again. Confused, arched eyebrows adorned your face. "Pretty much, yes. But I could throw that statement right back at you" he responded and leaned back with a smug grin on his face. And of course, he was right. "Since when?" Damian shrugged his shoulders and scratched his neck. "I don't really know. I noticed it a few weeks back but it was getting really hard to pretend a couple of days ago." You nodded in agreement. "I can't believe it" you muttered. All this drama for nothing, all this time he felt the same way. And you didn't notice. "Can I kiss you?" You were definitely blushing again, or maybe your blush never left. Your eyes darted back and forth between his white lenses, not really knowing where to focus your glance. Unable to form any words you just nodded and Damian crept closer. Intuitively you wrapped your arms around his neck again, like you did yesterday but now to close the distance between you two. For one split second he stopped moving, looked at you, at your eyes before placing his lips on yours. It felt like an electric shock ran through you and you tensed up but only for a moment. Then you melted into it and responded the kiss. It was sweet, no heat, nothing hidden beneath. Just an innocent first kiss that made your heart beat higher. Your fingers slowly stroked the hair on the back of his head while Damian's hands found their way to your waist, pulling you closer to him. You were certain he could feel your heart beating like you could feel his against your chest. Then his lips left yours, they left you breathless. You opened your eyes after a few seconds of trying to calm down. You couldn't even remember closing them in the first place. When you looked up you meet Robin's mask, Damian had only backtracked a couple inches. "Can I?" you asked and placed your hands on the edges of his mask. You wanted to see his eyes, you needed to. He nodded after looking around to make sure no one was watching or could accidently see him. Slowly you peeled it off and underneath were sparkling green eyes. Eyes so green you couldn't find anything right now to compare them to that would do them justice. You placed the mask beside you and let your fingers wander over his skin. Then you placed them on both sides of his head and pulled him towards you again, you kissed him again. His lips moved against your own, his hands wrapped around your middle and pulled you flush against him. This kiss was more heated, still rather innocent but not that cautious anymore. You never wanted to pull away from him but after a while you had to catch your breath. Breathing heavily you stared at his eyes. "But we- all this... that doesn't mean we have to go on double dates with my friends now or watch sappy romance movies, right?" you asked anxiously while his face was still only inches away from yours. "Of course not" Damian chuckled. "I still hate that." You breathed out in relief: "Good." Then you kissed him again. You just couldn't help yourself, he felt so intoxicating. He was like a drug, he lulled you in and you couldn't resist. But Damian didn't seem to mind since he responded eagerly. When you eased back out of the third kiss you wrapped your arms around his middle and hid your face in his chest. Breathing in you could smell the leather and steel again but being so close you also notice the faint smell of wood, nature and oil paints. Damian buried his face in your hair and huddled you against him. The two of you stayed that way and enjoyed the silence. This conversation definitely didn't go like you imagined but the outcome was surprisingly better. Sighting you turned your head slightly so you could watch over Gotham again. This night was undeniably not as peaceful as the ones before but somehow you didn't register the loud sirens echoing through the streets. And the red and blue lights didn't seem as aggressive as they normally did. For you everything was perfect, everything was at ease. The air was cold and danced around you, blew through your hair and tickled your nose. You could hear Damian's relaxed breathing which slowly lulled you in. You had never heard such a hypnotizing tune before. It even made you forget that your phone was still playing your music. "You're Robin" you said after a while. It wasn't a question; you just had to repeat the fact after everything that happened tonight. Damian nodded anyway; you could feel his head move. "Does that mean Batman is ... your Dad?" "Yes" he hesitantly answered since there was no use in lying. His body tensed up underneath you anyway. "Okay, cool" you said your face and voice blank. "Are you alright?" he questioned and shifted a bit to get into a more comfortable sitting position. You sighted, not letting go of him and snuggled closer. "Yeah, yeah. Just let me... process all this. Today had a lot of surprises" you retorted. "Didn't think my crush would return my feelings and reveal himself to be Robin and then confirm that his Dad, Bruce Wayne, is Batman which explains a lot by the way." You could feel how Damian's chest moved when he chuckled at your words. "To be fair, you were the one who revealed me, you found out I was Robin" he stated. You tried to free yourself from his grip to look at him again but Damian only loosened it a bit. He still had his arms wrapped around you but you know were at least able to see his eyes. "Maybe you should try to keep your secret identity a, well, secret" you told him with a huge grin on your face. He nudged you in the side which made you squeal. Your cheeks heated up in embarrassment again. God, you were making sounds you never imagined would ever leave your mouth. "Hey, it's not my fault Mister Perfect made the mistake to call me by my name when I didn't tell Robin" you explained. "It's not my fault when you make me act like an idiot" he stated defensively. "Is your world tinted in pink?" you teased and stuck your tongue out. "Isn't yours too?" he threw back at you. "Well, currently it's green" you whispered while staring into his eyes and creeping so close your noses almost touched. Maybe your mind played tricks on you since it was pretty dark but you could have sworn you saw a red hue cover Damian's face. "God, we sound disgusting" you said to end his suffering but didn't move an inch. He played you the last couple of days so now it was your turn to have some fun. "I don't mind, with you at least." "Fuck, was that something like a compliment leaving your lips?" you asked and staged a shocked face. "Shut your foul mouth" Damian growled and pulled you even closer. "Make me" you grinned. "With pleasure."

The most important thing is to keep going... In truth I should plan eating less this day, as I’m joining a birthday party tomorrow, but I  would like to be able to sleep.

I think I went so hungry shopping today, I barely had energy to move and so my body was really craving sugar and carbs by the end of the night. I wasn’t able to workout. HOWEVER. I will not quit. I can still do this. This is my 3-day-curse where I binge and quit. I will not quit. I will keep going and in the end I will see results. Tomorrow, I’ll have my regular breakfast, skip lunch for gym and light dinner and snack... I will just get back on track like regular. It will be okay. (Although it sucks cuz today I could actually see my pants had been getting looser!!!)

1 week ago I weighed 60.3 kg, so I’ve sort of lost 2.4kg since that. But actually I lost 2.6kg overnight, and even though it was probz  water weight or smth, this sort of feels disappointing. At least I’ve sort of maintained that weight, but I find it hard to believe I’ll lose 0.9kg over tomorrow, so I probz won’t reach my goal for the week. Nevertheless, I’ll have to keep trying today, and try to eat less. Today I’ll be superr-aware not to snack in between my meals like I did yesterday, and eat only in the presence of my mom. If my mom wants me to eat but I’m not feeling hungry, I’ll say I’m sick or smth and have smth small instead, we bought 95kcal musli bars yesterday.

Breakfast: 2 small slices home made grain bread + 1 slice gouda + 1 slice brown cheese + 10g butter + 1/4 cup lettuce + 4 slices of cucumber

Lunch: Family dinner, only 1 plate! = 1 hamburger (1 patty, 1bread, 1/2cup lettuce + 4 slices of cucumber) + dessert= 50g mango

Dinner: Chia pudding: 1dL almond milk + 2tbsp chia seeds

End of day note: Well. I was not able to avoid snacking. I think the problem is having nothing to do after eating a meal boosts my cravings. I’m disappointed with the week but I guess I’ll see my progress tomorrow. I just have to keep going. I feel really lonely. I don’t have the energy to do anything, but I kind of want to. Idk. I have work tomorrow I guess. I’m going to allow myself a small scoop of ice cream if I crave chocolate when I’m hungry. Hoping I’ll avoid  binging. Hope I didn’t gain weight. So I just woke up and omg. I really wasn’t sure if I made it!  This is just what I needed to keep going. Hopefully I’ll make smarter choices and binge less next week, and get even more results. I’m really happy about my thighs since they are huge and I lost 1 whole inch. I thought they seemed smaller in the mirror but I wasn’t sure- overall I’m really happy I made my first week goal and will continue :)

just a vent

you all can ignore this if you want, and I’ll be putting the whole thing under the cut so it’s easier to skip over. It’s just I have too much to vent about for just 30 tags, so I used this instead...

I’m basically terrified of my entire life right now. Things have just gotten so bad and I don’t know what to do to get everything back on track. And I mean I’ve really gotten scared of everything.

I’m afraid to post original content on here for some reason. I guess I’m just worried that something will go wrong and I just,,,idk. I know this probably sonds stupid. I’m just scared that since I’ve been on a break, that people just kinda forgot about me or won’t care what I post anymore. Idk.

Band starts tomorrow too. I think I’m most afraid of that. After last season,,,I just don’t know. Everyone keeps telling me that I’ll be fine, but they just don’t understand what it’s like. I couldn’t walk for 6 months, and I know that isn’t as bad as other people have it, but it’s still terrifying to me. The longest that I hadn’t been able to walk before that was 2 weeks. It’s just scary. That entire situation lead to a decline in my physical, mental, and emotional health more than anything ever has before.

I have so many restrictions for band to the point where it’s ridiculous. I can’t run or jump. I can;t lunge or squat or get into a push up position. Hell, I can’t even stand on one leg or even speed walk. My doctor’s note literally says “must walk at a slow or moderate speed.” I can barely do anything. I’ll probably barely be able to march since the show opener’s tempo is 140 bpm. I just don't know what to do. I’m at a higher rate of getting hurt this year because you have more of a chance of injuring something if it’s already been hurt. My leg has been hurt 4 times out of 8 leg injuries total. And now it’s worse because I have CRPS, so I don’t have a pain tolerance and my nerves are sending jackshit to my brain (in terms of correct signals.)

Not to mention I lost all of my friends last year because whoever was near me or helped me throughout the season was made fun of because of it. I heard all sorts of rumors about me last year. Some were even said directly to my face rather than behind my back. 

I heard that I was ffacking because a sprained ankle didn’t take that long to heal:

(I tore my ligament all the way from my ankle to my knee. So yeah. That takes a while but still not 6 months.) 

Then I heard that I purposefully got hurt in order to get out of band:

(Here’s the thing. I did have a no running rule. But I thought it was over because I was cleared by doctors and physical therapy and my band director hadn’t really said anything about it, so I figured I could participate per usual. Apparently I was wrong. But even then, if I was to get hurt on purpose just to get out of band, why the hell would I even sign up for it? And then why would I try to fight through the pain during stretches until told by a section leader to sit down because my leg had already turned black and blue by the time stretches were over?  It makes no sense.)

Next I heard that I only got hurt so I could get attention:

(We’re back with that dumb “she got hurt on purpose” crap,,,no, I did not get hurt on purpose. No living soul would want to be on crutches for six months, have to hop their way down an entire football field or would want to do the same around a high school. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Also, I hate being the center of attention and having attention on me, so clearly the people who came up with that one don’t even know me.)

My favorite one though was that if I think I’m hurt, than I am and that I'm clinically insane because of it:

(This one hurt the most. It was started by one of my best friends and our section leader. My mom tried to explain to my section leader exactly what was wrong and how the bullying was making me want to quit marching band. He told my mom that he would take care of it, but when my mom told him that my nerves aren’t sending the right signals to my brain, her took that as “It’s all in her head.” Then he told everyone that and his girlfriend (my best friend) at the time started to say that I was insane and needed to be locked up in a nuthouse. I don’t know why they would do that to me…)

So yeah. I guess that’s why I’m so scared of starting band tomorrow. I don’t know who’s going to say what and I don’t know who already knows about my restriction or not. I just terrifies me that something is gonna happen again. 

I honestly think that may be why I’m still a little afraid to be on here and post my own stuff now: I don't want to be cast out again. I can’t be cast out again. I scares me so much when I know it probably shouldn’t. I know that you all are incredible people, but there are still those who leave hate when there was nothing done to provoke it.

And, god, I just remembered something that I really needed to vent about, but forgot until now and it’s not gonna really makes sense with what I just said, but in a way, it actually might?

So, a few months ago, I mentioned something about one of my friends asking me to prom, but he had been known to have a crush on me, so for the sake of this story, even though it has nothing to do with going to prom, I’ll be referring to him as Prom Boy.

So the Disney band trip was about a little over a month ago, and it was pretty fun, but of course it did have those moments. And unfortunately, those moments were caused by Prom Boy. He was in our group of friends that went around the parks together, and he was bearable most of the time. Or at least he was until my brother collapsed at the end of the day our second day there. My brother is okay now, but when we were trying to figure out what to do, Prom Boy said “There’s no point in us staying here, let’s just go.”

Now, listen, I tease my little brother a lot, but I’m also protective of him. So when this asshole told us all to just leave him and go back to the buses instead of wait with my brother, I naturally got pretty upset. I told him that if he wants to go back, he can, but I was going to stay with my brother. The rest of the group stayed with my brother and I while Prom Boy made his way back to the buses as he said, to save his “reputation.” *insert eyeroll here*

So we got my brother situated and made our way back to the hotel and all was good and dandy, until I woke up that morning. My brother had been in the hospital all night and was texting our Disney groups group chat saying that he was worried he wouldn’t get to march in the parade since we were doing it that day ( he made it in time by just 3 minutes.) Then as I kept reading, I saw a message from Prom Boy that said “dude stop being a baby who cares if you don’t get to be in the parade or not.” My brother and I have been going to Disney since he was 2 and I was 4, so for us, marching in that parade is a big deal because we’ve seen bands do that same thing since before we can even remember. I tried to explain the to Prom Boy, but he just didn’t care. Once again, he was the only one.

Two days later was when he started to be an ass to me and the rest of the group, not just my brother. He sent me into a breakdown and then an anxiety attack that day back to back. The breakdown was because he just kept deciding things for the entire group instead of consulting the rest of us. We were all supposed to eat at Margaritaville our last day in Florida with our big group of 14. They told us that we would have two separate tables in order to fit all of us, but they would be right next to each other. Then, we were lead to 2 tables that would hold 6 each and one table that would hold 2. We talked to management about fixing it, and they tried, but there was nothing they could do. That was okay. I was a little upset that we wouldn’t all be eating together, but it was okay and it wasn’t anyone’s fault. Then we were asked by the manager what we were planning on doing and without hesitation, Prom Boy said “we’re gonna eat somewhere else.” That doesn’t seem too bad, except we never talked or mentioned leaving and he just decided that based on what he wanted to do.

He got up and left before the 7 of us (the other 6 had already ordered) and he went to go find us a place to eat. We left and then I started to have a breakdown because he never took any of our thoughts into consideration and I had wanted the trip to be perfect, but everything just kept going wrong. So, the 7 of us went to eat at Hard Rock and we somehow picked up and either person from the band who wasn’t originally in out group. We were all waiting to order and I was still pretty upset, so I put my head down and just tried to block everything out for a little bit. When I felt okay enough to try to rejoin the conversation, I realized the group was taking bad about Prom Boy and how he manipulates everyone (true) and how he doesn’t understand the word “no” when it comes to the girls he hits on (also true.) 

So I finally look up, and, to my surprise, Prom Boy is standing there behind my friends ( so no one sees him other than me with his arms crossed. We didn;t tell him where we went to eat because we all needed a break and my phone had died. I was also way too shaky to hold my phone let alone text. So, there’s Prom Boy staring right at me. Or rather, there’s Prom Boy staring right at my boobs (he had been hitting on my for a year and a half even though he knew I had a boyfriend.) In about 5 seconds of seeing him standing there, I covered my face with my hands and I started to sob. I had a full on panic attack all because Prom Boy showed up, tracked us on the snapchat map, and was staring intently at my chest. My friends just thought I was still upset from the situation before, but they realized he was there. Prom Boy was demanding answers from everyone. Then, he tried to get me to explain what was going on, but I couldn’t breathe let alone talk. And it just made my attack worse. They finally got him to leave and my friend went off on him for trying to pressure me and for hitting on me nonstop to the point where I was afraid to be left alone with Prom Boy.

So, now, I can’t even hear Prom Boy’s name without having an anxiety attack, but the main reason why I just told that story is because he’ll be near me during the entire band season this year and then some, so I’m terrified of that. I’ve told my section that I can’t be near him and told them the story of what happened, but I’m just so terrified that he’s going to confront me or get near me. My friends said they’ll be there to stop them, but they’re usually on the other side of the field, whereas Prom Boy is right next to me.

So yeah. I’m terrified for tomorrow and I’m terrified of my life and there’s nothing I can really do about it because I’m ashamed to admit that this entire time I’ve been acting happy over the summer was just an act and that I’m just about as broken and depressed as I’ve ever been in my life.

Gotham s5ep10 “I Am Bane” Personal Review

“Future got you spooked” Warning spoilers below …

I´m not on board with this episode.  Well this week it´s HARVEY BULLOCK on the hope train, Jim voices some doubt and fears but Harvey lifts him up, then  pushes him into the GCPD spotlight and Jim delivers an insufferable speech. At least he ends it with a applause for everyone and their good work but what is this, other than annoying.  But oh well everything is about FUTURE this week. ~ The future of Gotham after the reunification with the mainland ~ Gotham citizens living in peace and safety ~ The future of the Child ~ Jim´s new role as a father, like next to being city saviour ~ Nygma and Oswald´s future outside of the city  ~ Bruce future home, that´s quite like the old but not the same ~ Alfred´s role on Bruce´s side in the future ~ The future that Nyssa / Bane want. Which kind of is the opposite of all above. Which also is partly Nyssas private revenge but also League of Shadows ““Humankind will be purged of weakness” stuff. Or whatever, I´m out.  On the side of personal revenge, Bane gets sent after Barbara Kean, because she lend Bruce a hand with Stabbing Ra´s al Guhul. Jim tires to appeal to Eduardo/Bane by telling him that she´s pregnant, but Bane doesn´t care “One soul's future weighed against the world's.”  (Oh, hi Spock! ) So here we have the motive of clashing futures tied into one life.   Besides future it´s also HUMANITY “Right, being strong does not mean you have to be a criminal.” “If the world is full of monsters, the only way to defeat them is to become one yourself.”  Eduardo/Bane says to survive he had to “stop being a human” and “had to become something else.” He became Bane, he just didn´t know it yet but Nyssa al Ghul/Theresa Walker knew it and showed him the way. To survive you have to do bad things. Then Lee tells Barbara, who says she has to be strong that being strong doesn´t mean being a criminal aka. doing bad things. There is also a BARBARA KEAN / BANE PARALLELL both had a run in with an AL GHUL´s ideas, the ideas of someone that saw who they “really” are and made them that, or tried to.  Also Lee, I´m not so sure about the “Jim will help you”. Jim had plenty moments to acknowledge the good stuff Barbara did but he just didn´t.  He just said she is awful and needs to change but he doesn´t really believe she can. That´s not helpful.  “Consent is hardly a prerequisite.”  Okay HUGO STRANGE is even a notch more unpleasant and scary this week. Horror. And actually, the tension between his atrocious actions and then have Jim to try to talk him into letting him go because that way he can do what he does best: survive aka paint him as human and actually  vulnerable is kind of well made. And his line about him actually believing Nyssa has better chances, is frightening and weighs heavy in this context.  Also there is a mouse looking down on Eduardo Dorrance / Bane. And this can´t possibly be sanitary. Doesn´t Hugo Strange have any standards? Ha, wait, I bet half of his experiments weren´t actually experiments but just wild life and pests walking into his “patients”.  So NYSSA AL GHUL is THERESA WALKER okay I had my mind rattling a while until it stopped at Ra´s, since Bruce “killed” him but, like Ra´s had all this going on where he wanted Bruce to kill him and pushed him to do it, so it can´t possibly be that right? Oh for fucks sake. Oh and she blames Bruce for everything aka. mostly the actions of others (again). Do they want to annoy me personally? Pet Peeve is an understatement at that point.  “THIS”  is, “about punishing Gotham. For the sins of Bruce Wayne.”  Well at least it´s not for the sins of Bruce Wayne´s long, long dead ancestors, like Theo Galavan wanted to. So yeah, understandable that Bruce got this idea that he´s bad for the city which he voiced last episode but there the hell is Selina when you need her? She´d call out that bullshit asap as well.   Oh no I like GENERAL WADE that´s not going to end well. “All due respect, Mr. Wayne, but I got to go with what my people tell me on this.” And he is right to do so, this is integrity. I mean I get their distrust with that story so far but they could at least have waited for the results until they side eye him that much. They should rather side eye him if hadn´t done that and just taken their word for it.  So turns out it didn´t end well. That they had him sitting there visibly through all the scene with Jim had me dream for a moment, what if he gets up and saves the day. I´d like that. But nope. They pumped Jim with strength juice so he could break his bonds and get the General out. Despite thorough neck and the back of his head checks, the general was chipped and gave the devastating Order 386. Great. So someone hook him to a battery and then give the General a chance to shine you cowards.   “Oh, nothing is just like it was.”  So ALFRED PENNYWORTH´s idea what the reunification future will bring is a new Wayne Manor. Just like the old one. Well as far as possible. His “last great service” but he´ll not retire he keep standing guard. Selina offers support, she´d like to blow up her past, if that helps him. Alfred says maybe she will, some day she might have built something new but the past will always be there. And he´s right but I don´t like that sentiment that SELINA KYLE resents her past like that I´d rather have her be proud of who she is, and was. (Also “some day” my ass, if this is not solely meant to be a commentary about how she feels but also refers to a “making up” for past “wrongdoings” that´s long been settled)  Later they drive right into Eduardo/Bane and despite Alfred´s repeated words Selina won´t stay in the car, they both try to fight Bane. Before that Selina says, it looks like Alfred is not done yet protecting Bruce. Well. Anyway them looking for the plans of the Manor was sweet. But I´m wondering if Bruce wants that “home?. I get that Alfred still feels guilty and would want to undo this.  But rebuilding the whole Manor and everything in it, maybe Bruce would know something better to invest that shitton of money into. I mean there´s a whole city to rebuild. Infrastructure and stuff. * OSWALD COBBLEPOT & EDWARD NYGMA have their submarine. How? Barbara wants to go on board (there is banter about the weight limits) but she got to go to a hospital. Oswald offers to drive her just to drive her away. “I knew she would never accept my help”,  So there´s worries about being crossed and double crossing and turns out Barbara took an important submarine part. They show up at the hospital trying to get it back. They basically are slapstick comedic duo in this one, and eh idk, yes but no. Ed get´s to McGyver a bomb because Os didn´t bring enough ammunition to deal with Bane. I guess it´s fun. * Edward told a riddle and Oswald tried to solve it, kind of. That was nice.  * So LESLIE THOMPKINS and EDWARD NYGMA ran into each other and they acknowledged their relationship with a line. A quite good line I´d say: “For the record, you stabbed me first” * I lied there´s a second line: “And you stuck around long enough to risk both of our lives to save Barbara's? Or was it to protect Lee?” “Do you want me to answer that or do you want sail away from here?” “Bon voyage.”  And I´m on board with that sentiment.  * Oswald Cobblepot has a tiny razor over his tie. Why? * Gotta get a look at Barbara´s handbag. * Does Bane sound a bit like Scarecrow? * “It doesn´t really work that way” Lee is right and her delivery (of the line) was on point * “I´m glad something about this is normal” Bab´s get´s a lol point too. * “ gives us the What's it called?” “Pressure regulator valve.” “Right. That.” * I don´t like that they killed off all the Sirens Ladies, like not that they did anything with them that was particularly good writing or anything like that but still, they could have and I don´t like it. * “They'd choose one of us and they buried us alive. They'd take bets on whether you could dig your way out. But then they'd bury you deeper. And play again. I was the champion.“ The guards only did do that, because if they had just buried them once, Jim might have had an option to say, ha buried alive, been there, done that.  ** There were so many GREAT SHOTS in this episode like OMG. I think my favourite frames are the ones where Eduardo is in the hospital and the nurses watch him form above and he looks up the staircase. This was gorgeous!!!!!!

How about an AU where Tony lost one or more limbs in Afghanistan and he and Bucky bond over their awesome prosthetics? (because let's be real, if Tony lost a limb there's no way he wouldn't make himself into an awesome cyborg) angst is likely and encouraged, but please do add some comfort with it. Okay I’m gonna be real here, I watched both The First Avenger and Iron Man to make this while also reading up about Bucky to learn more about his character. I actually really like this, a lot. but maybe I like angst a bit too much idk. I hope you enjoy this! (fic under the cut because it’s pretty fucking long)

Tony Stark is stubborn, prideful, and loyal, he strives for the best. He also doesn't want his life to mean nothing. So yes back in Afghanistan when he lost his leg he immediately made a new one, but that was mostly based off of Yinsen's small replacement. But that was only after they had cut off his right arm, which he could definitely say that making an arm and a leg definitely cost as much as the saying. That was one thing he brought home after Afghanistan, right after the iron suit fully functioning arms and legs were made for anyone with disabilities. Tony making them the lowest price he could for a endangered company.

Tony's arm was his ultimate nervous tick, his saving grace from his mind. If he needed a new plan he messed with it till he thought of something, if he was testing something that all he could do was wait he'd tinker. It kept him sane while he was stuck in his thoughts, it was the first thing he did right after he found out Barnes was the reason his parents died, a few parts and updates he had been wanting to add were there but he had been saving them for the perfect occasion. That had been the perfect occasion. He sat for what Pepper could swear was ten hours and he even moved on to work on his leg. At the time every malicious upgrade made up his sick fantasy of a payback story.

But thinking of Steve he kept everything a fantasy till he didn't like those. Sometimes he felt dumb for that, Pepper had told him he was being a good friend. He didn't understand it all, yet he ignored Barnes whenever he could, but taking a small road trip where Barnes was often expressed as a good person either made him annoyed or reconsider a lot. He tinkered on his metallic arm a lot while in Wakanda, though besides Barnes being there the place made him feel out dated. Which is what got him into his unfortunate situation, one where he was a bit too curious for his own good. He would ask Shuri directly about Barnes's now very developed arm but he'd get mocked the whole time. Tony wasn't in the mood for that.

"Can I talk to you?" Tony asked,  Bucky had just gotten out of conversation, Tony also wasn't in the mood to wait. Bucky furrowed his brow, his smile turning to a line on his face that was on the brink of being a frown.

"Um, sure" Bucky's voice was uncertain, though really he was worried. He had no idea if a conversation with Tony would end well but he thought if Tony saught him out then it could be important.

"What did Shuri do to your arm?" he asked, looking straight to Bucky now. But once again his face showed confusion.

"I- ... She told me about it the other day. She likes to add stuff onto it whenever but basically I can sorta feel the arm. Controlling it isn't just that, I don't have anything that is like nerves in it but I'm more aware when it's being tapped on or touched. If one of my fingers get turned the right direction it shoots bullets which I thought was funny. Uh If I push this..." he stopped using his real arm to tap on metal of his metallic one. "This pops up which basically tells me everything I need to know about my arm and myself. It can help warm up my body and it tells me how I'm doing health wise" he told as he showed a small blue pixelish almost picture frame sized menu. It had many different number on it. small boxes you could tap on that much take you somewhere else. Tony just stared for a moment, usually he had his full suit for that type of thing but it all being stuck inside a small arm amazed him.

"May I?" he asked pointing to Bucky arm, to which Bucky nodded letting Tony take his arm. He studied the metal for a moment before going to the board that he had been shown. Tony tapped around for a moment, till a small picture of a body appeared. It showed his heart rate, blood sugar, when he should go to sleep, to when he should eat next. Tony studied it all, his mind moving as anything new popped up. All of this in one arm was amazing, he loved this type of thing. So advanced it almost feels like a movie prop.

"It's also much lighter, my old one was a bit heavy and it did make me a bit stronger but it was sometimes a hassle when I wanted to do normal things. It's also mucheasier to control, it's not like I have an arm but it's as close as I'll ever get and if I pretend hard enough and close my eyes it almost feels like it's real." Bucky told as Tony messed with his arm, though Tony's focus went away slowly as Bucky continued talking. He stepped back after a moment letting Bucky have his arm to himself.

"Yeah I understand that, first few months without an arm felt like hell to me. At this point the only way my body feels normal is when I'm in the suit but I'm only in that if I'm fighting someone or on the way to do that. And feeling yourself while doing that isn't always the best." Tony didn't know if this is smart but if anyone could understand not feeling like his body it is his would be Bucky. Maybe he was too cautious.

"What a fun club us two are in" Bucky told chuckling. The small comment made Tony smile, but the small moment felt tainted. A memory of his father came and he felt like he needed to recoil, step back and never talk to him again.

"Uh- sorry. If you want any exact information on it go ask Shuri. I can't exactly contrast this from my old arm since I first got it while I wasn't there. But I definitely like this one better" Bucky told, he really didn't want to be stuck in silence because of something he couldn't control. But he often didn't have a choice in things like that.

Tony liked Barnes's new arm, maybe he was just being dramatic but the last arm always made him think of his parents. This one seemed to redefine Bucky Barnes, like he was someone different with this arm. But then again Tony always felt different with a new arm or leg so maybe he was self projecting.

They were in silence, almost as if a conversation about Tony's parents was happening but with no words. Just expressions saying that his father was a good man and always did his work, especially when his work was Steve and Bucky's team. Tony didn't agree but knew his father worked hard, he wished he acted different when he was a kid. Wished he was nicer to his parents, even if they didn't return anything he could of done.

Tony didn't like this conversation, he didn't fully understand what Bucky was saying. He didn't like that this could be one sided or he could misinterpret anything said. But this felt stupid, there was no progress in staring at each other.

"Thank you" Tony said, it had probably been a few minutes since there was a noise and it even surprised Tony that's what he said aloud. He wondered if this conversation would be better if he said it silently instead.

"For what?" Bucky didn't understand that, as far as he could see there was not a single thing to thank him for. But maybe Bucky was oblivious he couldn't always tell.

"You've grown a lot, helped us fight when we needed to and you've been trying to better yourself." Tony told, which really he wished this was easier. Giving out things like this was never what Tony found easy.

"Well what else was I supposed to do? Steve got me out of it and I wasn't gonna go back into all of that. It wasn't fun and going back is no way to repay him, plus I need to make sure he doesn't get his ass kicked without me." Bucky told, which really he didn't think he could do anything besides what he had been doing.

"You could of destroyed us and let Hydra win, I wouldn't be surprised if I was one of your next 'mission'. There's a reason Hydra killed off my parents, if they planned it right they would of got me next anyway" Tony told a bit darkly, it's what he really thought. It's one of the biggest reasons he didn't understand Hydra.

"In a different world maybe, but not this one. Steve won me over in that regards." Bucky told, it was a fact and he stated it like one. Bucky was staying, staying a good person and it was the simple fact hidden behind that sentence. And though Tony didn't understand why, he liked that.

Tony didn't understand him and Steve but he knew that time seemed to put a higher price on their friendship. He did understand how close they were, and if it broke Bucky being brain washed then their friendship was worth a lot more than many tried to understand. But Steve didn't have any metal in him, so it set Tony and Steve apart from each other.  

"Well I guess we're stuck in the metallic limbs club with each other" Bucky told smiling, what a club to be in. Definitely not the best nor the most fortunate, but not many in SHIELD were apart of that club so maybe it was better to unite then fight.

"I guess we are" Tony had a smirk on his face, though it's not an obnoxious one. It was one that weirdly signed equal to a peace treaty between the two. He agreed with the smirk while Bucky found comfort in it. Maybe they didn't have to fight, maybe they could move on and be friends. Bucky liked that thought, but he needed Tony to like it too. Or he'd be constantly defending himself in something he couldn't change, Tony had a lot of pride maybe he could put it behind himself for this.

It has been something youthought was similar to a curse. Once it hit you, it wouldn´t everchange. All that happened when you were just a teenager. While as achild you were average height, you somehow stopped getting anytaller. Which led your friends to call it utterly cute andcompletelly adorable, but they didn´t understood yourstruggle.

Being small indeed makesyou special, yet what does that help if almost everything that was inperfect reach for others was completelly impossible for you to reach.One thing you could doabout it was wearing high-heels. They were uncomfortable and madeyour feet hurt pretty fast, but for once you could get those sweetsout of the top shelf in the supermarket. So mostly, heels were yourknight in shining armor, but there was one problem about them, thatyou couldn´t ignore: They were utterly unprofessional andinappropriate and most of all, they weren´t allowed at work.

You probably would havetried and sneak them in, maybe that way no-one would notice. Sure,you would have to tip-toe around so that not the slightest soundwould be audible, but you´d gladly accept that if only you wouldn´thave ask someone to get something for you. But it was Dr. Kelso whomade you re-think your plan. He was nice to those he liked and seemedto kill those he disliked, even if only with his eyes. Which automatically ledto the situation you were in.

It was a sunny day inmid- July and after staying inside the hospital for nearly fiveweeks, you thought that some time outside would do good to yourpatient Mr. Summers. He was a really friendly guy when he likedsomeone and gladly, you were one of those, yet he could be quitestubborn when something was happening that he didn´t agree with.Just like now.

„Oh come on Mr.Summers, it´s beautiful outside.“ you tried to persuade him.

„It´s gonna bebeautiful outside for quite a long time and given the fact that I´mgoing to be here for a few more weeks I don´t really plan on goingoutside everyday.“ he agrued. One more thing that he was quite goodat.

„But maybe it´sraining tomorrow!“

„I watched the weatherreports this morning. They didn´t say anything about rain tomorrow.“

„Just a small walk.It´ll do you good.“ you said, looking for proper shoes for him towear outside.

„I doupt that. Got apretty bad headache, I´ll better stay in here where it´s cool.“

„I´ll get you somepainkillers if you come outside with me.“

The room was silent for awhile, but finally he let out a groan and agreed.

You rushed out of theroom and got the wheelchair that you had positioned right next to hisdoor (because you silently prayed that he would agree with you) andhelped him get inside. He was cursing a little,but you were far to happy to finally get some fresh air after beingstuck in this god forsaken hospital for nearly ten hours.

Wheeling him in thedirection of the room his medicine would be in, you greeted some ofyour collegues that crossed your way, smiling brightly.

„Alright Mr. Summers,you´ve got to wait a minute, I´m going to get some Aspirin foryou.“

He didn´t reply so youjust went of, happy to have convinced him and for your shift to takea good turn, when again, you had to face the problem that should havebeen obvious to you right when you got here. Out of all the differentkinds of medicine, the one you were looking for had to be on the topshelf, so kind of miles out of your reach. And if that wouldn´t havebeen enough there wasn´t anything in the room that you could havestepped on to get closer to your goal.

Putting your head in yourhands you let out a groan, once more cursing your height. It was then, that thedoor was being opened and someone stepped in. You didn´t mind takinga glimpse at who it was, as you were far too much in thoughts, tryingto come up with a plan.

Whoever the person was,he or she must´ve seen your struggle and came closer to you.

„What is it, that youneed help with, my lady?“ you heard a familiar voice, „Stopcrying as now your knight in shining armor has appeared.“

Taking your hands fromyour eyes you looked to the side, seeing none other than JD, the oneyou kind of had a crush on.

„Could you fetch mesome Aspirin?“ you asked, pointing to where it was.

„Well sure,“ the darkhaired man said, moving closer to you and picking up the pack ofmedicine that you needed. „Here you are. Everything all right?“

Taking the painkillersfrom his hands, you smiled sheepishly at him, slowly moving out ofthe room. „Yes, yes, thank you. I need those for a patient.“

JD nooded, seemingsomehow relieved that they weren´t for you.

He followed you out ofthe small room and watched how you showed the package to the patienthe recognized as Mr. Summers.

You were about to leavewhen JD spoke up again.

„[Y/N]?“ he called,making you turn around.

„Yes?“

„Do you.. Eh- what areyou doi-“

„Just ask her outproperly boy. No need for embarrasing babbling.“ interfered Mr.Summers and started wheeling himself down the hall.

You watched where he wasgoing, then turned to fully face JD.

„Well.. He seems tohave more knowledge about that than I have.“ he laughed,scrattching his head shyly, „But I guess he´s right. So, will yougo on a date with me?“

You couldn´t help butstare at him in silence. Never would you have imagined that he´d askyou out.

„Tomorrow at eight?“

„Yes, I´ll pick youup. I know where you live.“ he grinned, obviously happy that youagreed, until his face fell and his eyes got wide. „Not in astalker kind of way! You mentioned it once!“

You couldn´t help butlaugh.

„Yeah, I know. See youtomorrow then!“ you smiled widely at him and then left, followingMr. Summers to the elevator.

Okay so, my hot take about Xue Yang, this will be about how and why Xue Yang is one of the strongest characters in Mo Dao Zu Shi. So here we go:

He fights LWJ, he fucking fights and stands against LWJ and he´s hurt. He flighted against SL. He´s an excellent swordfighter. He only lets his ward down when LWJ took Shanhua from him.

WWX lost control and become weak.

XY had control (not mentally like wtf this dude has never been stable) and well, I´m sure his underweight and malnourished and has a sick constitution, but he can manage pain and wounds.

As soon as you heard that you ran, you ran straight out of the hospital and down the dark streets of queens, you didn’t stop until your lungs burnt and your legs were about to give out. You leaned against a wall and slid down to the ground, you realized then that you ran into the sketchier part of queens, at night in the dark.

You started to walk back, you really didn't want to run into anyone. Your mom had signed you up for basic self-defence classes two years ago when you were 14 but you didn't trust that you were there enough to fight right now.

"Hey pretty lady, what you doing out here all by yourself at this hour?" Your shoulders tensed up as you kept on walking, picking up your pace.

"Hey! I was talking to you. Don't ignore me bitch."He sounded angrier this time so you picked up your pace again when suddenly you felt his arms wrap around you, effectively stopping you.

Both of you apologising and trying to organise your papers resulted in both of you being extremely late for class but luckily your chemistry teacher loved you so she let it slide this once but, unfortunately, the only seats left were together and that’s how you became lab partners with Peter Parker.

"Yea I was just thinking." you replied before the teacher announced that you would be doing a group project before giving the class the remaining time to find a partner and plan out the projects.

and for some reason your head was hurting really bad

worried johnny rushed into the room immediately after he heard your coughs,

and his shocked expression, looking at the mess you made almost left you in tears

but he still cleaned it up and asked you to rest on the couch, while he poured a warm glass of water to you

another wave hit you and you were sent to the bathroom, your head above the toilet bowl and vomiting once again

johnny's arms was wrapped around yours tightly and you just fell on his chest, the nausea still there
