Most often of all, she is a dragon greater than the Earth itself, great enough to wrap herself around The Sun, with scales like pure burning sunset and coy, upturned eyes. But she has many faces, all characterized by her skyline coloring and gleaming yellow eyes. She loves gold and rubies and shiny things to add to her hoard stowed in The Sun.

Our Lady Immilla The Harpy God, may she dance on the sky, is a Goddess of many names. She represents the moon, the sea, art, music, love, life, the seasons and the weather, but also death, melancholy, revenge and mystery.

She is a great harpy whom nests in the craters of the Moon, with iridescent green feathers and long black hair, black as night, and a singing voice so utterly profound it shook tears from mountain tops and created waterfalls. Her favorite name is Immilla, the first ever Gifted to her by her lover, Verildis, but she has many more names, such as Atilia, Tabitha, Amabilis, Amphelice, Invidia, and Wilhelmina. She loves poems and birds and string music, idle things to spend your hours on.

being a huge fan of tlou but also like. thinking that certain stories are built for certain mediums. like the entire theme of tlou2 is grounded and fresh because it’s a railroad/story video game that still affords you mechanical choices in how you navigate the world. i just don’t have a lot of confidence that presenting that story in a tv show with the minimal adjustments that they did in s1 will be fulfilling or compelling in any comparable way. because with tlou1 some of the like. beauty of that story was simply that it was such an emotive story contained in the medium of video games. and some of that was retained just by hitting similar or expanded emotional beats in the show, like the episodes that expanded on the life of the characters and the realities of that world. but truly so much of tlou2 emotional depth and ‘why does this story matter’ rests in the fact that’s it’s your hands on the controller, continually choosing to go forward in the story and have hope that it will work out in your-as-ellie-or-abby-or-somehow-booth’s favour. and you simply cannot get that in a non-interactive medium like television. like i do think tlou2 is a good story but it’s a good story because of the investment required by the player to keep pressing buttons and keep returning and to feel the adrenaline like responses of high intensity moments and be jarringly shifted into backstories that only increase the frustration. in general i’ve been thinking a lot about cross-medium adaptation and on the one hand i am glad that season 1 makes the story of the last of us more accessible to people who wouldn’t pick up a video game but it’s also like. maybe instead we can destigmatize video games as this inaccessible and dangerous medium a bit more instead of just . implicitly agreeing . like no maybe your mom won’t pick up a video game controller and play the last of us . but maybe you can play the game in the living room. sometimes the mediums that stories are told in aren’t just important but are actually foundational parts of how the information of a story is conveyed and that’s not only okay but is fucking fantastic. we should be happy actually that there are so many ways to collect a bunch of themes and ideas and put them together and hold them out to someone else and say “won’t you consider this with me. won’t you feel these emotions and care about these characters with me.”

you should use jjk tags if you want that maki fic to get more attention. like jjk x reader or jjk smut etc. not just maki x reader. your fic deserves to be out there more since it is sponsored for a good cause so use the popular tags

i typically only rlly use the character tags bc i feel like people after specifically maki works will search for maki as opposed to the fandom as a whole tag so i get nervous (? idk if that's the right word for it) using the fandom tags bc i don't really think it would necessarily change the audience its reaching

secondly, if i change the tags now it won't rlly affect the attention it receives bc its already been 6ish days since i posted it and whenever ive edited tags previously for organisation etc it hasn't done anything for traction/interaction on the fic

thirdly, wlw content i've noticed for me never does the best anyway which isn't an issue at all bc i enjoy writing it nonetheless i've just noticed there isn't quite as big of an audience for it! <3

Here's the thing like...fundamentally, what the majority of the US Tour 6 indicating that they believe "the wrong cat died" really shows to me is that the understanding of the show has been somewhat lost over the years.

This is no disrespect towards any of them, and I believe that joking about this subject is absolutely within an area of general fun and lightheartedness (we do it literally all the time), but at the end of the day it misses the point.
