Ok after a rewatch (and now that I've cried again lmao bYE that second to last episode kills me bro) Assassination Classroom makes me so mad because like. Aside from some story things, not going in depth enough here and there, etc. Like aside from those it WOULD be an absolutely fantastic watch that I'd readily recommend to everyone.

However the perverted jokes knock it down several pegs. It's so par for the course in the shonen Manga I've read so I mean. I guess at this point I almost expect it from Manga. And maybe it's a cultural divide thing idfk but it's not funny it's never funny aaaaaagh. I mean it's still a good watch if you CAN ignore that prevalent detail. Because there is good.

I will say of the normal things I'd critique:

1) There are a lot of characters and most of them don't really get a time to shine. I understand the point and emphasis of Nagisas character but I feel it sort of hinders things. And at the same time it wouldn't be the same without them. It's a weird situation, I do wish he didn't narrate though.

2) In the anime Koro Senseis backstory (a years worth of friendship) takes the course of 30 minutes or less. You have to fill in the gaps yourself but in the whole Aguri. Really doesn't get a lot of screen time which makes it hard to take things as genuine? But that's probably just a me problem idk. (At the least no one ever mentions her being gone in the anime so it's like? I know they only had her for 2 weeks but still).

3) Nagisas mom gets off with a slap on the wrist like she didn't straight up physically abuse her son on screen but ok

4) wait another gross thing I really don't like the hahaha nagisa looks like a girl jokes. Like even after the people who do it realize it bothers him so much because of his mom's abuse (she wanted a girl and lives vicariously through him) still pick on him about it even when they said they'd cool it

5) while I like that the story has a beginning middle and end and I don't want a good story to overstay its welcome it's still a whole year we could have focused on some other characters too I'm sorry I'm focusing on that but they talk about how they're all family and it's about the whole class working together but you really don't know most of them by the end of it it's such a shame

6) she has her moments here and there but I don't care for irana and I especially don't like her and kurasama together there's no chemistry at all what was that

Because he was, for some reason, the way to get to that magic book that everyone wanted. The person being hunted and at the center of the shit storm that rocked Yokohama

And now that it’s over, he kinda wants a vacation and everyone keeps telling him it’s okay to be selfish every now and then so he walks into Fukuzawa’s office and asks for some time off

And Fukuzawa, who cares about his employees more than he could ever express, grants him as much time off as he needs

(Fukuzawa can see the beaten down, dead tired look in the young man’s eyes even though he barely passed into adulthood and decides that they could go without him for a while. The Ada is on good terms with the Port Mafia and there are no new big threats on the horizon. Atsushi can have a break)

And Atsushi only plans to take off a week or two, really!

He made sure Kyoka was set and he had enough money to manage for a while and then left

(He, in his exhaustion, forgot to inform anyone besides the president and Kyoka about his vacation before leaving. Ranpo knows, because he always does, but he finds the chaos much to entertaining to stop it)

And maybe he visits Sigma in his sky casino (bc they are best friends and you can fight me on that) and he recommends traveling to a different country or something

But anyway

He’s on his last stop before heading home when he runs into Chuuya

Chuuya, who had heard through the grapevine about how the Ada and that shitty mackerel in particular are losing their shit over their lost tiger and finds it absolutely hilarious

And because Chuuya like to see Dazai sweat, he calls back to the Port Mafia and requests sometime off of his own and drags Atsushi even further along, refusing to let him go back

And the next thing the both of them know, they’re viciously spinning in a tea cup because Atsushi had never been to a fair or any kind of amusement park before

(Back in Yokohama, everyone is losing their minds bc not only is Atsushi gone, but now Chuuya is too. And everyone who knows what’s happening isn’t saying shit. Fukuzawa and Atsushi have calls once a week and no one wants to worry the president by telling him, Kyoka isn’t letting anyone get in the way of Atsushi vacation, Ranpo think this is all hilarious and Mori is Mori and he’s just the worst)

((I have no romantic pairings in mind bc it could work for so many. It could go for skk and sskk. It could go for Chuuya and Atsushi or Dazai and Atsushi. Hell maybe poly with all three of them. It could also work with no romance at all. thank you for not stopping at the first two. these guys might not be on penny dreadful levels of polycule insanity, but they are nearly there. im going to give you a novel bc well where else am i gonna do this? im gonna reference book (including later ones i havent read) stuff so if ur avoiding that for some reason uhhhh consider not doing that bc spoilers are fun

loustat: when i read the book, i did not have time for this ship. i hated both of the characters and the writing was so bad that i just did not want to hear it. however…well, we all saw what happened in real time this fall. i was always interested in some of the broad strokes of the book, and the show filled them in in a way that really clicked for me. i love how they are endgame like if they were my friends id make sure they stayed on separate continents but i LOVE to see them bother each other as a viewer. why must they keep trying even though they have irreconcilable differences? theyre soulmates thats why. it’s an interesting ship bc of the unreliable narration. i love the shows version with them having a courtship and a real relationship near the beginning. gay enough indeed!! the way lestat loves is so interesting to me so of course im interested in the love of his life. yes it’s sometimes the wrong kind of love expression but at its heart it’s sharing a coffin and anything for louis (which isnt an ideal like lestat maybe think about urself but. cant go on lestat trauma tangent!!)

armand/daniel: love this one as well but for its normalcy. and yes it’s normalcy amidst completely batshit antics, but still!! like it’s a ship of boyfriends not husbands you know? and yet i take it way too seriously. i think it really gives armand a chance at something good. yes he repeats some patterns from when he was a human in a relationship with a vampire but i think there are crucial differences. i love all the pet names too. oh i should comment on them in the show. idk tall armand and notblond daniel does remove some of the layers but of course itd be fun to see him fuck that old man and i hope they got up to some fun stuff in the past!

armand/louis: i could almost stand the parts of the book with armand. idk it just seemed so much more tolerable. you cant even say oh i was young and just liked a relationship that seemed less complicated on the surface bc of what i was shipping back then. so yeah i do like it as a ship and i think it’s hilarious that they build this wonderful life together in the later book canon and then lestats like hey louis want to live a life that youll hate with me? and louis goes immediately. thats comedy baby. but it’s nice that they both have this place (their relationship) where they can kinda chill and recoop.

armand/lestat: i love mess!! bc i like armand, i do think it’s too bad lestat rejected him. it totally makes sense for who lestat is, and maybe armand wasnt reaching for him for sustainable reasons, but i think itd be fun if they got together in a different situation, sometime in the era of the books or after. just for fun! theyre in each others lives anyway.

ive also seen daniel/louis and daniel/lestat which are both funny and both ruby approved. i love how these vampires are always falling into each others beds, so i support every configuration possible (except for characters i hate they should die :) ). theyre like the kissing family on snl to me

I put my oc in therapy! It's his first time. And he's going to unravel his horrendous hate for an entire group of people. I'm so proud. So i drew him. He has some scars and dark backstory stuff so idk if itd be triggering so im putting it and some lore under the cut for my own reference

This is Mickal, i call him Mikey sometimes and in his universe, there are Humans, and Mythics (mythical beings like mermaids n werewolves n shit)

and so his parents kidnapped a mythic kid to use as decor and so the kids single mother was pissed so she kidnapped their kid with her gang. (Her kids name is Crowe, and he and Mikey are very good friends :3) My dear sweet boy got kidnapped and tortured for about 4 weeks <3

so he escapes, goes back, his parents already replaced him, so he goes off and does things. Then he gets into a relationship with a mythic who takes him in who turns out to be toxic <3

So his look at mythics is already not looking great for him. He leaves his toxic gf after finds out he was essentially the other woman and finds Crowe again! Yippee! They get into the same college, all is well except for Mikey being species-ist.

His species-ism leads him to be KIDNAPPED A G A I N BY SOME OF MY FRIENDS OCS. Like this was absolutely HILARIOUS to me because at max two people knew what was going on in his poor brain

It gets FUNNIER THOUGH because the people who kidnapped him for being a DICK were THE KING OF HUMANS? AND ESSENTIALLY THE KING OF VAMPIRES. AND THEN THE KING OF VAMPIRES DRANK HIS BLOOD FOR.. BEING A DICK?

It was insane. Absolutely insane.

This friend does not like Mikey because he's prejudiced.

Mikey as created as a character for a Discord RP. The entire reason i made him how he is, is not old to give him depth and give him an actual character arc, but also to see how everyone else there would treat him.

I find it very interesting that almost every single person inside rp and outside rp chose to hate instead of help.

When he displayed hate towards mythics, he was met with either awkwardness or full on rage. This is fair. The mythics are the minority oppressed group of the rp. They're allowed to express anger and hate on someone hating on them.

But then it got a little more odd, he was discovered in the basement when he was kidnapped, and they ridiculed him further when told directly by Mickal why he was down there.

In a conversation in his college's lobby, he displays confusion and embarrassment when two other characters show love publically. (He was the other man in his only relationship. He literally has no idea how any relationship shit works.) And was met with an entire political speech about how anybody can "wear what they want" ???babygirl.. (once this was corrected, the person playing that character started getting political, it was a whole thing.)

Mickal was made with the message "If you only stick to your own political party, you'll never get everyone on your side" stamped on his forehead. I made him originally as an experiment, and frankly I'm a little sad it's turned out the way it has.

I might not have gone about it perfectly at first, true, i just wish people would stop misinterpreting him😭😭

Dude thinking abt hypothetical fandoms for my stories is so fucking funny to me.... Just like. Try imagining people writing fanfiction abt your ocs. Its rly weird to think abt but also funny because for me I feel most of the popular fanfic au tropes just straight up wouldn't work for the eternal gales cast but I could still super see people trying anyways and it would be a mess hsmhdkdh
