I fucking love the dynamics between the ‘people’ and the ‘avatars’ in NSBU.

G13 is using Usha, because he’s a hacker and a manipulator, and she’s exactly the kind of person who can be easily scammed. Haunting. Spine-chilling. Cool as fuck, truly unbelievable storytelling, and it’s developed so organically!

On the other hand, Vic is mentoring Wendell in a way, and we got to see them really sync up this episode, working together to advance the narrative and protect their people. Wendell totally gets the kind of person that Vic is, and I think that helps him take Vic’s advice as the more experienced person- but also know that he’s not always going to be right.

Paula and Jack are sort of… misaligned. She keeps trying to find guidance from him, but they’re almost too similar? Jack so far that we’ve seen is very hands-off, and doesn’t seem all that worried about Paula- or his own family. Whereas Paula of course cares deeply about Jack’s family already, because she’s much more involved and familial minded than what we’ve seen of Jack.

Liv and Kingskin are, I think, the most compatible duo. Liv has settled nicely into her role in some ways, the control and power it grants her suits her well, and it feels like Kingskin likes her because of that? But at the same time her compassion for others is making such a notable difference in the way that she’s able to interact with people in Kingskin’s circles that it feels like he could learn as much from her as she’s learning from him. They feel like the most balanced pair, with the most mutual respect.

Dang doesn’t match Stocks’ vibe at all. He’s trying to do the cool action movie things, he’s playing into the role really well at times- but who Dang is, really, doesn’t sync up. His morals and priorities are very different from Stocks’- for good and bad alike. There’s very little connection between the two, it feels like- to me it reads as Dang just trying to fill the shoes of this Bond-like character, more than anything. Sometimes he’s really able to pull it off, and sometimes it just… doesn’t work. Stocks isn’t helping him. He’s on his own- which it seems is perhaps a norm for Dang.

Then of course, Russell. Russell and Jennifer are not a team at all- what Russell is learning from this experience, he’s learning from simply being Jennifer, not from communicating with her. He’s a man who we know is used to being attractive, used to being complimented and unused to being told off for the way that he behaves. I love the way that Ally’s taken his character as Jennifer- because he isn’t Jennifer. He’s Russell. He doesn’t want to wear a skin-tight bodysuit, he wants to get a baggy shirt to hide this form that he’s not used to, and work with the new skills that he has.

Idk I just think it’s super super cool that all of the players are working within the mechanic so differently, and I think every single manifestation of this dynamic makes so much sense for the characters that it’s just astounding. This last episode was such a good show of these dynamics and the impact they actually have on the plot.

Can u give me ur full thoughts on Alex? I feel like a lot of the shit he gets is unjustified. If you grow up in a similar environment to most guys, you can understand why Alex is the way they are. It's not exactly easy to be soft or mindful when you have a harsh environment around you. Many guys end up coping with repressed thoughts and feelings in unique ways to soothe themselves. I think Alex's was sports. (Idk just a hunch) but it often leads to a lot of blind spots or misunderstandings of the world.

I've seen a lot of people like Alex and I've had a couple of friends in high school like that too! And I can tell you... yeah... it comes from SOMEWHERE, A lot of them ain't doing so great mentally.

Heck, I do that! Whenever I get uncomfortable with a situation or feelings I don't like, I make jokes to ease my brain. Releses a little serotonin ya know what I mean?

Alright, so I just read through that language barriers post of yours and had a Blast Tm, BUT! Now I have several thoughts that need to be spoken. Firstly, what with english being this really ancient language now, yn‘s basically got a free phd in hyrule, don‘t they?? Predestined for exploration because of their „excellent skills with the language used in the ruins and temples of old, as well as their familiarity with the mechanisms“ or something. The ruin researchers probably beg to have them in their team.

Secondly, apparently accents are really appealing to some people? The chain already finds yn‘s morning voice really hot, but how would they even react to the way they sort of mispronounce the words? Idk too much about how japanese sounds, but maybe they emphasize the consonants too much which makes them sound harsh all the time, or the opposite, too much emphasis on vowels and sounding very soft. Just… brainrot about rambling and not trying too hard to speak perfectly accurately being all it takes to have the boys smitten and kicking their feet.

Your body aches from being tossed around on the daily by a man twice as strong as you. The worst part is, you know he’s only using half his strength.

What he can acknowledge, at least to himself, is despite the array of bruises across your skin, you look more beautiful than ever, and he can’t stop himself from ogling you a little. Heat pools in your stomach and you drop your shirt, much to Tangerine’s disappointment.

“Here’s the deal…. I’ll teach you how to throw knives once I can finally beat you on the mat,” you bargain.

It takes ages (three months) and many more missions (five) for you to finally do it. To beat Tangerine in a fight. After a couple of particularly rough sessions, where you were already roughed up from your most recent mission, you’d taken a few days off to rest and recover. But now it’s back to training, at your partner’s insistence.

You circle each other on the mat, fists raised and bodies tense. Instead of making the first move, like you’d done so many times before, you wait. Tangerine lurches forward first, sending a punch to the left side of your face. You anticipate it and duck, taking the chance to throw your knuckles into his stomach.

The brunette grunts but it doesn’t do much to slow him down. He throws another punch and this one you sidestep, elbowing him in the ribs. You take the momentary shock to nail him in the cheek too. He stumbles back a little and smirks at you.

“Now yer fucking getting it. Come on, show me what you got.”

You lurch forward to send a swing at his face but he grabs your wrist, sending you off balance. He flips you on the ground and you grunt. Just barely you avoid his punch and roll to the side, and then to the other side, and so forth. When his next punch comes pummeling down you throw out both hands and catch his fist. It surprises both him and you so you use it to your advantage and pull hard on his arm, sending him flipping onto his back.

Tangerine lands with a loud thud and a curse and you scramble up, grabbing your fake knife. You pin your arm to his throat and hold the fake knife to his chest. He moves and struggles against you back and forth, but you’re eventually able to pin him with your weight and fake stab him.

The brunette collapses back on the ground, defeated.

You cheer, raising your hands in the air as you celebrate. Tangerine does actually smirk and pats your thigh (which is still spread over his hips since you’re straddling him.)

Your stomach erupts into butterflies and you hope it doesn’t show on your face.

“Finally beat me, love. Congratulations, now you’re not a total fucking threat to the team,” he declares. There’s no actual malice to his tone and he looks rather proud of you.

Against your own common sense you bend down and place a quick kiss to his cheek.

His blue eyes widen and his cheeks flush, “what was that for?”

“A-a thank you, for helping me. Inadditiontoourknifelessons…. Of course.”

Tangerine chuckles lowly and his thumb absentmindedly sweeps over your pant leg, “oh there’s no need to thank me or start my lessons yet. I still have so much to teach you.”

Your brows furrow, “what?”

Before you can finish your sentence you’re interrupted as he flips you over. He pins you down with his weight and he leans in closer until your noses are inches apart.

“Lesson number two…. Don’t let your guard down… even if your assailant is a charming, handsome English bloke who’s really into you.”

Your breath catches in your chest and your eyes flicker from his to his lips, “I keep forgetting that one. I think you’re going to have to find some way for me to remember.”

Tangerine smirks darkly, “I think I have an idea or two…”

Ok so it’s basically like Aladdin except there’s no romantic parts (ew disgusting) but this is kinda the frame to go off of (feel free to ask abt it!!!)

Tails basically gets a tip from and old homeless man he shares food with about and ancient treasure only the pure of heart could find, and since he was a lil homeless boi, he decided to go get it

Blah blah blah adventure and he finds the lamp, meets sonic, but the temple collapses in on itself, trapping them. And tails basically keeps egging Sonic on until he blows a hole in the wall (and successfully doesn’t use any wishes)

More transitioning and they’re in the city, sonic persists on tails using his wishes to get more food or money, but tails refuses. He believes that if he wants a better life he has to work for it (pretty toxic mentality for a child) and refuses to accept any help.

Skippp, Sonic and tails bond and become closer when some bozo decides to pick on tails, and in a secluded alley, Sonic blips the guy into the middle of the ocean. Unfortunately someone immediately sees this and reports to the king who immediately tries to cease the lamp. (Idk who the king is yet maybe shadow??? I’ll post a poll eventually)

Sonic and tails were forced to flee into the forest (I have absolutely no idea where they are) where they continue to evade law enforcement while the bounties build up. Sonic and tails have a deep chat about freedom, and tails learns about Sonic’s desire to be freed from the constraints of being a genie. Tails ponders for a big before asking how to free him. Sonic explains that the wielder of the lamp has to find the enchanted sword in order to break the magical golden shackles binding Sonic to his genie status and along with that wish him to be free

Blah blah more skips. They make it to the temple (again? Lots of temples in this.) where they are met by Knuckles, the guardian of the sword.

Push comes to shove and knuckles hurts tails. In a state of panic(hey that’s me!!) tails wishes for Sonic to protect him, as a result Sonic completely obliterates knuckles and they gain the sword. Just before they can free Sonic, they get captured by the kings guard. Tails wakes up in a cell but with his smart boi brain, breaks out to save Sonic, who was being held captive by the king. Blah blah this is all you get for now

Tails was abandoned when he was 3 by his mother, who claimed the second tail was a bad omen that would only bring misfortune. He was taken in by an old widow when he was 4, who taught him basic skills to survive, however she soon passed and he was forced to the streets. Tails is currently 9 and has worked extremely hard to get so much as clothes. He steals things he finds valuable and trades them for money to buy food, because he doesn’t like the idea of stealing food that the merchants worked hard to get.

Sonic has been sealed away for thousands of years by his previous wielder, and is very afraid of being abandoned and forgotten in the lamp. Sonic can shapeshift into a mobian when needed, but he still has a faint glow. Every time he grants a wish it takes a chunk of his energy, but he replenishes it quickly (large wishes take more). However if someone makes a lot of big wishes before he can heal it can seriously hurt, or even kill him. Sonic can’t go any farther than 50 feet from his lamp and the gold jewelry act as restraints if he does. He can do things like float thinks if the wielder allows it

Shoulder shimmying had never been so hard, but Y/N seemed to have finally gotten down the choreo to ITZY's 'Wannabe', the members of Stray Kids seeming to think so too. They had just been looking around for a room to practice in when they came across their young trainee friend, who they hadn't seen for a while due to their busy schedule.

A small applause sounded from behind Y/N, making her jump as she saw the door open and Stray Kids clapping for her.

"Ah! Hello sunbaenims!" Y/N blushed and bowed politely. She wasn't expecting to see them there, so absorbed into practising for her next showcase.

"Hi there!"

"Annyeong!"

"Wow!"

They all let out greetings as they walked over excitedly to Y/N.

"How has everything been? It's been a while since we saw you," Jeongin smiled widely at Y/N, trying to ease the obvious nerves he saw from her.

"Have you been practicing regularly? Your dancing has improved a lot," Changbin nodded his head in approval.

"Ah, you really think I've improved?! Yeah I've been practising a lot these days..." Y/N bashfully admitted, rubbing her sweaty palms on her leggings. Was it from exercising or from nerves? She wasn't quite so sure herself.

"We can see that. You're better at dancing and freestyling than us now," Lee Know laughed, praising the younger girl jokingly, but there was still a hint of seriousness to it that showed Y/N he was proud of her, and that helped her relax more.

"Maybe one day even Jisung will be jealous of your dancing skills," Felix laughed, causing the quokka like man to look over at him with a mock appalled face.

"Haha maybe I'll take his place as the ace," Y/N smirked, feeling comfortable enough to joke around with them. It wasn't a regular occurrence that she saw the boys but everytime she did, she was soon able to fall back into a relaxed state where it felt like she had known them forever.

"No way! You will never be as talented as me!" Jisung smirked back, yet he couldn't help but goofily smile back at her as he ruffled her hair.

"Well, we're glad you're practicing so hard. Would you like to have some fried chicken with us?" Seungmin piped up, his eagle eyes noticing that she only seemed to have some water in the room with her. Plus, he remembered what it was like being a trainee, and an offer of fried chicken would not be one to be turned down.

"Oh sure! If there's enough to go around!" Y/N clasped her hands together excitedly.

"Of course there's enough food! We're so proud of all your progress by the way, we can tell how hard you've been working, Y/Nnie," Chan praised her, as they all sat down together on the floor.

There was a moment of peaceful eating before Chan kept up the conversation.

"Oh yeah, we wanted to ask you something! Are you good at rapping?" Chan wondered, wiping his hands on a napkin.

"Well, I don't want to brag but I think I'm pretty good," Y/N shrugged, she had practiced enough and knew she was at JYP for a reason, and her talents certainly didn't go to waste when it came to rapping.

"Oh yeah? You actually rap too? I had no idea. Have you tried writing your own lyrics before?" Changbin got excited at the prospect of hearing Y/N rap.

"I'm not as confident in writing rap lyrics as I am in singing them if that makes sense?" Y/N explained, hoping it was understandable.

"I get what you mean. You must be very talented though since you can sing so well," Lee Know wondered.

"Do you happen to write your own songs too or do you learn songs from other artists?" Chan asked, interested in what her identity as a future artist would be.

"Oh I like to write my own songs too!" Y/N beamed. Now that, was an area she was proud of herself for.

"Really? Can you play one of your original songs for us?" Hyunjin said in a shocked tone, head tilting slightly in disbelief but wanting to hear her sing nonetheless.

The boys all stared at her in anticipation.

"Oh, sure... If you really want me to," Y/N became nervous again, because this was Stray Kids! Yes they felt like her friends but to sing her own personal works in front of them was still nerve wracking.

"Yes, we really want you to!" Jeongin encouraged her, offering that same reassuring smile as he did earlier.

All of the members were now eagerly waiting for her.

"Ok, here's a chorus I wrote recently," Y/N finally nodded, making the boys even more excited as she began to sing.

The boys stared in in wonder, thinking the words were so beautiful and they loved the emotion she put into it even for such a small snippet of the song.

"And you wrote that yourself?" Chan smiled like a proud dad.

"Can we hear more?" Changbin said hopefully, nudging Y/N playfully.

"Well, I think I should now that I've sang a teaser for you," Y/N beamed, and for the next couple of minutes she sang the rest of the song to the boys. She even played a small backing track which consisted of an acoustic guitar, simple but sweet, building up towards the end of the song.

"I can't wait to see you debut!" Felix clapped with the other boys.

"You really will steal everyone's hearts, Y/N, you'll go far," Chan said, a big smile adorning his face as everyone offered their comments and praises to Y/N.

"Just don't let it get to your head," Lee Know joked, causing his members to whack him playfully and tell Y/N to not listen to him anymore.

So little rant

There's this old woman teacher in our school and she teaches communication skills (literally dk what that is cuz I didn't learn a single communication skill, I'm still socially anxious)

So coming to the point why I don't like her

In one of the previous class, she asked us to share “an negetive incident that really gave us a thought”

So now all us lockdown era bitchass socially anxious kids with no experience and on top of that feeling sleepy so early in the morning said nothing to her

And most of the class was quite, mind you all the three sections of Humanities were together and the number of girls was high (on that note idk why Humanities has more girls while Commerce has more boys in our school) and most of us were sitting at the left side of class for some reason

But that is that

So now a boy from our class (not to bitch talk but dude always gets favoured by most teachers but he's nice tho, kinda cute... he blushes a lot) got up to speak about his random experience with once helping his friend go on a date or something I won't elaborate

So even tho ma'am was not really satisfied with his yapping she said it was good enough

Now another girl from a different section got up to speak, she was anxious and stumbled a couple of times but spoke about her experience with an unfair math teacher that made her cry and lose confidence.

It was really a good thing to hear, and it felt so good that she took so much courage to share something like that infront of all of us bitchass people.

And ma'am was well with it too, or so we thought....

Things that made me happy (or sad) from The Chosen s4

Calling Simon Peter! – man, chills, literally chills.

And the Matthew and Jesus talk. I liked how Matthew was open with his emotions and then learned something from it.

Jesus' words: I make people what they aren't. Yes, Jesus, please make me what I'm not. Only You are able to.

This being said – Matthew apologizing to Peter and then Simon Peter forgiving Matthew. A m a z i n g. The hug? Te relief on Matthew's face? The Peter's growth? I can see him being a leader.

Jesus always noticing the rejected ones – the blind man. Sure, he had friends (they were talking with Jesus) but the way he was sitting on stairs to the Temple and nobody gave him a second glance, but Jesus did.

I've never been to a wedding banquet, but I'm on my way to one. and then You wouldn't get it. These are your last words?

Some comic relief scenes: poor Matthew not understanding some things (and I get it, believe me, I do) as Andrew telling him he should write request on paper to speak with Peter or lifting his hand when pharisee asked who's writing Jesus' words down. Or Nathaniel? This man is hilarious. Not wanting to be chaperon for Thomas and Remah but telling John he won't be reliabe one to do it himself. Or questioning other followers' skills with pomegranates. Idk, I was laughing so hard.

Gaius. Oh my. I don't even know where to start. I loved his story. I loved how big his faith was. I loved how he cared about Matthew from the very begining. And he wanted to go to Jerusalem for Passover! I wonder how he'll react to news about Jesus dying... I know we don't have some things in The Bible, but do you think Jesus is going to reveal Himself to Gaius after resurrection? I hope He will.

Also I liked how the side characters of the story (like Yussif and Jair) were willing to protect Jesus even when they knew that He was Almighty God. They were sweet. They really loved Jesus.

Jesus with Romans!!! Oh my- This was His teaching in a nutshell. And Romans faces when Jesus told them they go further with them and how they started to take their things back form the disciples.

Matthew being ever the gentleman and taking heavy bacpack, so Mary won't have to carry it. I loved it. Also, can we talk about their meeting after years? And Matthew brave: still unusually pleasant to look at. That was very cute.

Showing Jesus as a human (His words to Mother Mary: also a human) and His frustration, anxiety and fear. I think it's very important to remember that He was a God as He was a human. And this is such a mystery to me? That God decided that He wanted to be one of us. Oh how much He has to love us!!!

Anon, I am totally on your wavelength because I, too, love the ‘unexpected couples’ genre! Hence my love for Karlach (Barbarian) x Gale (Wizard). And I’m going to start my answer by discussing these two lovelies 💜

Now, granted, Karlach may be a barbarian but she’s definitely not in the extreme ‘wild man’ category that you are referencing in your ask! However, there are two quick things that I noticed from her romance with Gale that I think are relevant to your question:

The first is that Gale himself, upon meeting Karlach and seeing that she is a bit ‘rough around the edges,’ will immediately (and very cheerfully) declare that he can be “smooth enough for two! 😁”

In short, he is not phased or put off by someone from a different social class or with different social skills than he’s familiar with.

The second is that in my Karlach Origin run, Gale’s approval for Karlach shot up VERY QUICKLY in comparison to my original Tav run—and all because I kept using Barbarian skills to avoid fights.

Barbarian skills like: Shouting, intimidation, roaring, etc. Behavior that you wouldn’t think a proper gentleman wizard would tolerate, but with Gale? It was nonstop “Gale Approves”, “Gale Approves”, “Gale Approves”…

Basic ‘untamed’ skills like those kept us from having unnecessary fights—and Gale loved it, anon!

So, with those points addressed and Gale already off to a positive start with his hypothetical Wild Tav love interest, let’s get to the crux of the matter:

Is Wild Tav kind to Gale?

Does Wild Tav generally try to be a good person?

If they can answer ‘yes’ to both questions, then there’s no reason Gale wouldn’t start falling for them the second they pulled him out of the portal.

This is not because Gale is ‘desperate’, ‘a simp’ or has ‘low standards’ or any other nonsense that people who don’t understand his character love to regurgitate. (If Gale was any of those things, his requirements for Tav would be: ‘1. Are they breathing?’ and ‘2. Are they hot?’) It’s because having someone who is kind to him and good-hearted and isn’t just using him for his magical talents is all he’s ever wanted in a friend or lover.

Gale does not need to be with someone who is as intelligent as he is, as eloquent as he is, or as charming as he is. Gale has intelligence & eloquence & charm to spare. He can be ‘enough for two’ in all of those categories.

Why would he care if Tav was raised in the wild and prefers to speak with animals over people? Gale’s best friend is a Tressym! He would approve of that wholeheartedly!

What does it matter if Tav doesn’t have any social graces? Gale would have a blast adventuring with them in the wild and learning what survival skills they’ve honed. And he’d be eager to teach them magic to assist them on their hunts, too, if they were willing.

What difference would it make if Tav was quiet, clumsy with words, not one to talk? The real question would be: Are they willing to listen? Would they be open to Gale pouring his heart out to them (in the simplest terms he could muster)? Would they enjoy sitting with him in a meadow at night, hand in hand, gazing at the wild celestial beauty in the skies above?

Because Gale would love nothing more than to do just that.

All in all, Gale Dekarios + Wild Tav sounds like pretty damn good match to me, Anon 💜

So many buttons, it was like one of those little machines residing behind the Toruk Makto that the Sky People used to make symbols appear on the screen, and he was proficient at pushing the right combination to make you want to commit violent acts or reckless actions that he knew would get you into trouble.

You were a warrior. Not just any warrior, you were a great warrior. So great, in fact, people were saying you were for sure the next Neytiri, bound to achieve great things, bound to be a key player in the upcoming war with the Sky People.

- “b but how will he use three swords? !” you may cry. fear not. i thought of this. i think he would have one in his mouth yes but the others he does sorta martial arts wielding to spin them and launch them, and cause he is Big he launches himself around to catch them. i feel like he’d make it a cool performance

- i didnt make him a unicorn bc i felt it was too easy for him to wield his swords that way. its zoro. he needs to be TOUGH
