bearing in mind that this has mostly been stewing in my brain fluids while im listening to the mechs at works so this shall be vaguely rambling and probably a bit all over the place. its also very long. also also some of this is like vaugely hermitshipping so it shall be tagged as such but like its very much not the focus.

ofc theres so much potential for like hermits as the actual mechs but like a lot of these thoughts r about the hermits as like specifically the characters from the albums.

sometimes theyre also about like specific hermits for specific songs. Like this is technically trafficsmp and not hermitcraft but like 'rose red' for dl!pearl. Like that thing of being seperate from the person you love (cinders and scott even tho scott choose to leave) and then turns to war and violence to express that pain. The thing of like being constantly surrounded by blood and death against your will to the point where those around you see you as an omen of death. As the Scarlett Pearl. Like in the end, even though she wins and even tho King Cole is killed, pearl/rose still dont get happy endings. They just get more pain and blood. And like the thing of how both dl!pearl and dl!scott and rose and cinders end with one of the couple being killed in order for the other one to win the war. Just asdfghjkl idk i think it fits.

continuing this train of thought. if once upon a time (in space) is the double life smp then the evo crew is definitely the mechs. idk something something watching the war for three decades something something watchers and listeners something something.

this is more fun than the last one but like pump shanty but its the boatem crew after jumping into the void. like the thing of being trapped in the void of space away from those you love after a disaster and missing the people you love/your family and trying your hardest to get back to them even tho theres a very real chance all this work will be for nothing.

ALSO OMG I JUST THOUGHT OF THIS but like once upon a time (in space) specifically being about like the reign of king ren and the resistance against it. idk i think there could be something there. (also cinders like introduction of 'A princess, if you believe the tales, of a world long since fallen before His Majesty’s finest' and like gem being a princess on empires and her being part of the soup group/resistance with pearl just *chefs kiss*

also impulse as mad jack. thats it.

old kimg cole could have some very good like evil mayor scar vibes but thats pretty seperate from everything else in my brain.

idk if ouat(is) works best for like double life or the king ren thing but like either way vibes

however i do have like specifically high noon over Camelot thoughts. this all started because i think that gunfight at the Dolorous Guard has good boatem crew vs big eyes gang vibes and it spiraled from there. Like obvi the stone clan is bigger than the big eyes crew but dont question it. also like moon crashing into server and space station crashing into sun have similar vibes.

like consider. gwenivere is scar, lancelot is grian, and arthur is mumbo.

idk the way scar and lancelot sounds similar in my brain. like scar 'hotguy' goodtimes being gwenivere 'the quickest draw' Camelot. Also both of them always seeing the opportunity in terrible situations.

grian is the chaos man! he's pesky bird! lancelot has those vibes. like both of them vaugely have act first think later vibes.

mumbo is arthur because 1 ceo of boatem 2 idk theyre reactions to like the end of the world both seem similar in my mind like mumbo tried to 1 start a cult to appease the moon 2 tried to blow up the moon and 3 tried to then encorage all the hermits to like dip from the server. same vibes as the verse "there's a dream that I've had as we ride out west, of a golden age with this worlds wrongs all address. but i wake to find there's nothing here but fear and death. and between the two there's only blood and whiskey".

obvi the rest of the server is like the townsfolk/the ghouls idk how ud split them but there's like enough civil wars and other lore that u could fuck around a bit.

now on the the fun stuff.

i struggled a lot with galahad, gwaine, and mordred. i knew that i wanted them to be pearl, impulse, and mumbot respectively but i didnt know who i thought should be who.

i think ive definitely settled on mumbot as mordred. like both of them replace the old leaders for various reasons. plus ik that mumbot and grumbot are technically like different bots but i think for plot reasons it works very well to merge the two. so you have the whole like father-son dynamic which, when u add the stuff we've seen from grumbot in season 9 gets fun and funky. plus you have mordred riding camelot into the sun and mumbot/grumbot staying (i think) im boatem through the moon crash.

i also think that pearl is a good fit for galahad. like my first instinct was to say gwaine but given that she like 1 was the last member to join boatem and 2 was the only member to sit in all the boats on the boatem pole ( i think of the boatem hole being the round table and the boatem pole as being the siege seat) it makes sense. also like pearl saving all the animals in the nether bunker at the end and galahad calling the people of the town he was trying to save his flock. idk theres something there.

that leaves impulse as gwaine which idk i think its okay. i think it works with his like season 9 villian arc but idk, there could be a better fit but who knows. they do both have like impulse being the head of industry and gwaine being in charge of bring over the people and supplies from the hydroponics levels. idk theres something there.

obviously theres like so many possibilities and like 2 other albums and so much lore to cover but this is already very long and i have work so imma cut it off here. feel free to like add ur own ideas and i might add more later but yeah.
