I hate it when I headcanon a character who’s canonically a girl as a trans man and make ships of him and a character who’s canonically a guy and I refer to it as a gay/mlm/guyxguy/whatever ship and someone gets mad. Like omg let trans people have FUNNNNN. Why are queer headcanons and genderbends cool until they’re saying that the character is trans???

and like half of the characters in the franchise are women, and a total of… NONE of the characters are trans men. Also, my headcanon doesn’t change the source material. If my stuff upsets you, you can block me and go engage with the source or maybe every single other fanwork, since mine is the only trans man hc for this character that I’ve ever seen.

No, I don’t think that being a trans man makes you a woman or vice versa. That’s why it’s a headcanon, and the headcanon is that this character is actually a trans man and not a woman at all! You’ll never guess what pronouns most trans men had to use at some point in their lives, and you really won’t like it when you find out about pre-(or no-)transition trans men… or trans men who are in the closet… or trans men who don’t know that they’re trans yet.

I’ve seen this one from other queer people. Like did you miss when all of the homophobes said this about your identity, or do you think that bigotry is only bad when it’s directed at you?

Why would your brain even go to that first? This literally has to be a bad faith reading, because there’s no way that someone could see what I said and get this unless they were specifically looking for something to be mad at me for.

(Note for anyone unaware: “Estrogen would’ve fixed him!” was a meme going around at the time I said this. I’m not sure if it’s still super big, but this was a joke to the effect of that.)

Oh yeah so I had this idea earlier when I was thinking about Beast Wars, only reason I didn’t post it earlier was because I got dragged out to dinner

Anyways, so basically I had this thought of a Transformers series where basically the Autobots and Decepticons crash land on Earth, and due to them having no clue where they are and no current way of getting back home, they decide to work together, at least for the time being

So like, the main group of protagonists would consist of both Autobots and Decepticons

But also it wouldn’t be the entirety of both groups working together, as members on both sides refuse to work with the other for one reason or another and instead decide to do their own thing, being their own separate parties that probably cause trouble from time to time. But every member here has their own reasons why they are or aren’t fine with teaming up, and why they’re on one side or the other

I kind of don’t want Optimus and Megatron there, probably because I was thinking of Beast Wars which doesn’t have them, and also because I want to see this alliance come from characters other than them. But at the same time I feel like they kind of have to be there. My current solution is that the two were on a different part of the ship that came off during the crash landing, and in current day (assuming they all were unconscious for a bit like g1 or Animated) the two are missing, which might be a reason for the two groups to team up. Their goals are to: find fuel, find everyone that might have gone missing, find a way to contact/get back to Cybertron, and find their leaders

I’m not entirely sure what’s going on with Optimus and Megatron here yet, just that they’d probably be absent until like, maybe the end of the season or something

But one concept that did come to mind is that whoever found them basically decided to stitch the two of them together using each’s body parts into one powerful robot (probably not knowing what they really are), and so the two are pretty much fused together into one, with them having to deal with this, assuming they still have a mind anymore. And also with this concept, this Frankenstein of them is specifically not one or the other with the other’s body parts, it’s both of them in there, through whatever magic means. Or neither if we just want the body horror and the new team having to put them down. Or I suppose you could have instead their minds/sparks being fused into an entirely new being. Didn’t really think about that concept until right now. But yeah, might not be the concept I stick with, but it is the one in my head right now

Edit: all I know is that I don’t think I want it to just be “they decide to work together”, because while I’m down for a solo Optimus and Megatron team-up side plot, the rest of the group is already doing the team-up, so it’d be treading the same ground. I want to do something different with them, and fusing them together into one being certainly is that. Throws a wrench into the whole war thing too

And yeah, I just wanted to share this concept because I thought it was neat. I would try to develop it more, but I have literally no clue who would be on either side, because the only characters I think about are Optimus and Megatron, and I also don’t really want Starscream and probably Bumblebee here either

Y'all need to SHUT UP about "transandrophobia/transmisandry". I saw a post the other day I haven't stopped thinking about, about transmisogyny, and like most the comments were going "Isn't that just transphobia?" (Which is already wild, 'cause it isn't. Since transmisogyny is the overlap of two very real oppressions: Transphobia & Misogyny)

But one was like "Sees post abt transmisogyny, checks blog, transandrophobe. like clockwork." When literally there was no posts on OPs blog that were hateful toward transmascs/men... just posts talking abt OPs experience with transmisogyny. (even if there were it wouldn't be "transandrophobia" cuz its not real, it would just be either transphobia or bullying/harassment depending on if their transness was attacked)

If you see people talking abt women's issues and think "This means they HATE men!!" (trans or no) you need to stop an think for a moment. Women on this site can't make ANY exclusive post (Transmisogyny, Lesbianism, or just talking abt being women) without guys coming along and going "How can I make this about me?".

And I know it's mostly trans men who are suffering through dysphoria and thinking about women makes them ick. But consider for a moment that you don't need to verbalize those thoughts, especially under posts that aren't about you/your experiences.

Please refrain at least from doing it under other ppls posts, I'm begging.

NOTE: Listennnn I just binge read it over two days and wanted to recommend it somewhere. The main characters are men and most of the plot is about them, but the women in the larger cast are not only very well-realised (and also ridiculously hot), but the bulk of them are gay. Actually a crime how little attention this gets in western fanspaces with toxic yuri situations this crunchy. There's an on page lesbian wedding and that's like the least gay thing going on with the girlies here.

NOTE 2 - PLEASE; There's also a very androgynous approach to character design, and the female characters are well built, appropriately dressed, have big noses, thick necks, strong jaws, varying gender presentation, short hair.......... they're just as complicated and violent and unhinged and morally compromised as the guys..................... its a good series.

not attacking, just unsure where you're coming from because the first bit was definitely building on my tags in talking about ships, but otherwise kinda completely irrelevant to both what i was saying and the original post. i only have a problem with ships when theyre (completely unintentionally) used to reconstruct the narrative in a way that makes it less interesting and meaningful. i definitely get where youre coming from here but i was so baffled by how unrelated it seemed i wasnt sure how to process it.

i dont interact much with the fandom because of how bad people are at remembering exactly what happened in the show. i think its important when writing character analysis to pull up relevant timestamps or panels.

canonically, maka and crona are friends, yea. crona uses gender neutral pronouns in i think everything but the anime dub, so you probably will be in a little hot water for using something else, but thats just cos theres not a lot of nonbinary representation out there. if people give you trouble over irrelevant stuff they just aren't worth your time
