Rachel Berry + Popplio : I mean that's kind of the obvious one, right? The sparkling aria? I mean all the Glee kids sing but Rachel is the main character

Finn + Pikachu : He's the everyman all American boy next door and it's Pikachu. Perfect pair.

Quinn + Eevee : The counterpart to the Pikachu, cute and seemingly unassuming but holds hidden potential.

Kurt + Fennekin : Like Eevee, Fennekin is also cute, I just think Kurt belongs with an adorable fluffly little fox that will eventually be able to Psyshock everything in sight.

Mercedes + Oshawott : Really between this one and Piplup, but Samurott has that cool Hisuian Regional form so... Another water type to like, foil Rachel, but more of a cool vibe, and with more obvious fight to it. More masculine, so it could have gone to a boy, but Oshawott and Dewott are really cute also and would look good battling beside Mercedes...

Artie + Rowlet : Hmm something about the sneaky, quiet unassuming presence of the simple owl that becomes a ghostly archer really does it for this pairing. I'm not the biggest Artie fan, but I think if I was, that's what I'd want to highlight, the sleeper talents.

Tina + Grookey : I'd choose Toxel if that was a starter. Tina can have Grookey and Toxel. Get the whole band together Grookey is a cute little drummer that goes hard, especially as Rillaboom, and despite the shy exterior, so does Tina.

Puck + Totodile : Totodile is cool, he's an active little croc and he's pure power and I think Puck would appreciate that when choosing a starter. Also gives him a chance to be the mature one.

Santana + Charmander : Fire power, lonely little lizard, who hits so hard it'll make you ignore it's obvious vulnerabilities. I think they'd lay on the beach together and Santana would hold a parasol above it, just in case it ever rained

Brittany + Chikorita : Sweet, simple, but is one of the best when it comes to taking a hit. The punches just roll right off that one.

Mike + Quaxly : Apart from the obvious, that y'know. It dances, it's flashy in all the right ways and I think Mike would help him with his perfectly coiffed hair (I might be a little biased by Shadowhunters here) ...and yes, the latter point does also make me want to give it to Blaine as well. But... Well, it does dance.

Sam + Froakie : because um. because it's a frog. Also Sam is a nerd and would be so hype over getting a ninja pokemon are you kidding me? Also also, if you're a Samcedes fan... A Samurai and a Ninja, like, it kind of goes together, y'know. Connecting the dots?

Sugar + Scorbunny : It's a bunny! Adorable! A little hyperactive bunny that plays soccer! She'd go to all it's little pokemon games too I bet

Rory + Sobble : idk he just seems like a sobble guy to me.

Dave + Tepig : David is my baby and he's definitely got one of those fire/fighting starters. I think he's primarily a fighting type trainer, because y'know, gotta keep up that tough guy act. He's also got fire type to match with Kurt + Santana. Because of course he does. Plus Kurt calls him Hamhock, so... y'know. Tepig.

Blaine + Snivy : If you've read the pokemon manga there's a scene there where Bianca picks up Snivy immediately and goes "Here's your Snivy ^^" To Cheren, and that's how I feel assigning Snivy to Blaine. Here's your Snivy! (Although Quaxly very close. Especially with the messy hair)

Lauren + Litten : Its a cat that wrestles. There's no... There's no contest here.

Becky + Torchic : It's a chicken that fights. Literal cockfighting. Again. No contest.

Matt + Cubone : Cubone is only a starter in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but it is the lonely pokemon, I think it's the perfect partner for poor Matt who has almost no lines and is written out and completely forgotten. Poor Matt.

Joe + Bulbasaur : Bulbasaur just seems like a chill little guy, y'know?

Jesse + Chimchar : Doesn't he just seem like the type to have a Chimchar? Or more to the point a Monferno or Infernape, all style, a flaming monkey.

Jacob + Meowth : Another Pokemon Mystery Dungeon starter. Specifically the evil Meowth I think. The one that talks. It gives Jacob bad advice and talks him into morally questionable things.

Personal vent post, how I tag things, apologies for this probably showing up in search results because I'm not censoring words (do not have the spoons rn)

So I'm getting really frustrated (at the situation, not at individual people! Sorry to vague right after getting a request, I was gonna make this post like a week ago) that multiple people have asked me not to tag Bro/Cal reblogs as Stridercest.

Stridercest does not mean incest, it means Strider/Strider relationship. I'm tagging it for followers who don't want to see Strider/Strider at all (or for those who do, too, I guess). On MY blog, it has NO bearing on whether or not something is incest. Lil Cal has been a Strider since Day 1 to me, way before any of the events after Act 6, as a pure vanilla puppet. A Strider by marriage, in my opinion. But I'm not opposed to calculating the amount of Strider that got put in Lil Cal, as I've done before. You also have Dirk/Hal which is also Stridercest, but not incest (at least in canon, sometimes it is incest in fan depictions). Or Guardiancest, which I don't think counts as incest in canon either (but usually always is in fan depictions). Even selfcest between one Strider (beta!Dave/beta!Dave in a time travel situation, for example) is still gonna be Stridercest to me.

The ONLY Stridercest I add the specific ship tag for is Bro/Cal, because that's otp5eva for me, separate from any other Strider stuff (Stridercest probably doesn't even make top 3 HS ships for me). Everything else only gets the blanket Stridercest in reblogs, because I already tag a lot, I don't have the energy to add nuanced tags for weird Strider situations, and whether or not that constitutes incest, or which version of a character it is, especially when the artist/authors don't usually make the difference explicitly stated in their own caption/tags, and sometimes it's vague on purpose! (I'm currently writing a fic where Bro and Dirk are the same person! I'm not gonna make the distinction a big deal.)

It's mostly frustrating because then I have to decide if untagging the relationship as Stridercest is going to make someone else following me uncomfortable who will then see it untagged.

Going forth, I am going to delete whatever reblog I made if I get this request from someone else again. I'm trying to remember names, so I don't reblog any future content that would conflict with their requests, but this has already happened with three people in like the past two weeks. Had to block one person for telling me to die because I tagged "Stridercest" on the post preventatively, as usual, because I care about tagging for my followers. (I literally checked their blog like 3 times to make sure they didn't have a DNI pinned, and I still got told to die for my efforts lmao.)

Literally, please just DM me privately (thank you to the other people who did, sorry for the trouble!), and I will either delete the reblog, or block you if you request that. I'm not TRYING to make people uncomfortable, which is the whole reason why I tag it to begin with.

So, I'm not un-tagging shit anymore, it's delete only from now on. I'm not going against my own blog rules I set both to try and accommodate my followers, and to make searching my blog easier for myself. (Used to not tag anything from like 2011-2016 or later, and I'm still in the process of back-tagging everything, since it's been so frustrating to find old fandom posts.)

Let there be some loyal wild men safe Targg from the battle field and then he heals but doesn't know what to do with his life and then he meets hera and olwyn and he tags along because he respects her and he has nothing better to do. They could go on a adventure together.

Or idk let him see that the raccoon man is crazy earlier and safe hama for negotiations or whatever and he helps Rohan idk I read fics with much worse unrealistic premise and it still worked great!

And wulf Ach wulf man idk what to say I will say that the German dub gave him a better and deeper voice then the English voice so that was nice! I had some feeling for him when his father died and he got choked out by helm but he really went all out to become very pathetic.

What fandoms do you write in?

Literally just various Star Wars media atm. The main focus for 2024 was the prequel era, mostly The Clone Wars and some Bad Batch.

How many words have you published in 2024?

172,387 according to my stats. I wrote more than that though, and I still plan on posting and backdating approximately 5 one-shots I wrote in 2024 but never got around to post.

What are your top three fics you’ve written this year?

I despise/love them all equally I guess if I had to choose, I'm still really happy with these three: Wanted, a gift for @omaano in which Dogma gets morning snuggles from Tup and Fives. Idk why this pairing is so rare, they're underrated!! The Meaning Is Ours, the first fic I ever wrote that's entirely original characters, for the 2024 Trans Clone Week. Both Hunter and Prey, my fic for the DinLuke mini bang in which Luke is a vampire and on the hunt for a certain Mandalorian. I just think it's hot sklfjadlksfj.

What was your biggest pit of despair moment?

Oh boy... maybe writing the gift fic for the Star Wars Rare Pairs exchange. It just kept getting longer and longer!! Which, really, I should have probably expected, because among other ships my giftee requested Polybatch with a focus on Echo getting railed and I just couldn't resist, and of course all the Batch members wanted a turn. And the fic kept being a thorn in my eye even after it was posted because people would request another fic based on a flashback scene that's maybe one paragraph long, all without complimenting the 13k I'd already written 😭 like, you really expect me to write more fic for you when you can't even comment on the fic that's already there??? Idk what to tell you but fanfiction writers aren't content machines where you can just press a button that says "Next story, please!"

What have you learned?

That people will love the fics you think are hot garbage and entirely pass by the stories you put a lot of thought and energy into. It's an old lesson but one I have to keep re-learning.

What three fics have you read this year that you love?

I have to admit that I don't read a lot of fanfiction, but these three I've found in my bookmarks: Ready Room by countessofbiscuit, in which Fi and Corr make out - ultra rare pair content from the Republic Commando novels and so sweet and silly (like Fi) and just a tiny bit bittersweet! Nine-Seven by Trudemaethien, with some platonic Sev & Niner. It's just so refreshing to see aroace headcanons finally arriving in fandom. Save an AT-RT (Ride an ARF Trooper) by BilbosMom, WaxerBoil, containing both smut and humor - my favourite combination!!

What ideas are percolating for next year?

Nothing concrete so far. Maybe finish some of the WIPs in my pile, try to write more than one fic for the Codywan First Kiss Bingo so I'll at least get a bingo, and try to write something for the @cloneshiprarepair monthly ships (go check out this event btw, there are some crunchy ships getting served up!). Probably try to sign up for fewer exchanges because I can feel my interest in Star Wars slipping.

It's Over!

All copies of Dungeons and Daddies the Manga have shipped! Soon it will be in the hands of all my wonderful supporters! I couldn't be more proud and relieved to finally have this project all wrapped up. I will cry forever if anything goes wrong delivering any of them.

Most of you should have received emails with your tracking numbers from me, except a couple of you didn't have tracking options to your countries from Canada, and a couple of you it literally would have been $80 before tax and uh... no! But most of you! I've reached out! I'm so excited for you to get your hands of these things. Tag me if you want once they arrive, I'd love to see them make it safely to their destinations.

The physical editions are genuinely gorgeous, I couldn't be happier with them. Okay, so I don’t watch Hazbin Hotel (if I wrote it wrong, sorry) but for like weeks, the only thing I see in the asexual tag is people complaining about allos shipping ace characters in a very allo way, and it’s been annoying me to no end, because while we do have to be upset about that, the ace tag should also function in a way for us to share jokes, have fun and enjoy our identity without having to fight for our right to exist.

So I propose we do something different. Let’s annoy the aphobes. I propose that from now on, every character becomes ace/aro/aroace. No more shipping fanfics, just platonic relationships and friendships. Every fanart is now SFW and has the ace/aro/aroace flags colors.

i agree with most of your (& last anon's) points about lifesteal shippers & seperating c! from cc! just had some things to add

idk the timeline of the kab stream where she might have spoke over him, but manepear originally did have his boundaries as do whatever don't be weird, but he changed them last week no shipping at at all. (possibly due to the sudden popularity of /r manehare, I personally didn’t see much manepear shipping before that). 

I think most of lifesteal fan’s hostile mentality towards enforcing boundaries is because lifesteal ccs are known to interact with fandom space through twitter (and twitch chat though that's expected) compared to tumblr or ao3. I wish there was a secondary tag for ccs to mute that for things that aren't directly spoilers, i feel like the twitter fandom could benefit from that. 

i do get why cc might not want to be shipped, even as characters because everyone has a different distinction between how much is them playing a character and how much is really them. though sometimes cc's seem to blur their own lines (kab has done this). but unless a cc has explicitly stated their boundaries, people still shouldn’t post ship content where they know cc’s can see it. it's a bit of a different situation if it's posted on a platform where you'd have to actively look for it to find it.

now you see, i know and to some extent agree with this mainly in the part where its best not to post ship things and the like on public twitter (tho if we had it my way nothing that could count as "fandomizing" such as identity headcanons should be posted about where the ccs can see it anyway but nobody gives a fuck about that now do they?) but the thing is this sort of culture is a more recent development in the mcyt fandom (including twitter) that mainly came after cmc's serious stream and is notably one that is directly correlated with the increased amount of harassment in the mcyt fandom in addition to the fact that fancops historically have made fandoms an incredibly toxic and suffocating place which are two big reasons why i dont respect it in the slightest

tho i def agree that twitter could use a tag that ccs can mute but honestly considering how twitter culture is theres a nonzero chance itll be used to harass ppl so i dont think it'll be worth it, there is also ig the alternative solution of making a secondary account thats either privete or has the ccs blocked and does not use any hashtag or any of their easily searchable names that way they cant see any posts from there (although i have yet to see an account thats like this its fair to assume there already are ones that are like this since thats usually how it goes)

If I were proper, I'd have a chance; not with you, but somebody else by ShiwiSins (IetjeSiobhan) (@deepdowninshipperhell) -- 4.3k words, 1/1 chapters -> PIERRE/CHARLES this is actually the fic that swayed me to the omegaverse side. before this fic i would intentionally avoid any and all omegaverse fics, but i read this one and it is so good. i don't know what to say other than it is perfect and you should read it

hard feelings by orphan_account -- 2.9k words, 1/1 chapters -> PIERRE/ESTEBAN this is an au fic, and i've said it before: i think this fic captures the pierresteban fic dynamic perfectly. the severed relationship, being dropped into the middle of something broken and never given a real answer, it's just - perfect

shark teeth by toastandvegemite (@toastandvegemite) -- 3.6k words, 1/1 chapters -> LANDO/DANIEL i'm not super vocal about it but i am a dando enjoyer. i Love dando. and this was one of the first dando fics i ever read, and it's so good, and it's actually my "if you're only going to read one fic for this ship, read this one" recommendation for dando. so, like, even if you don't usually read dando, maybe read?

nothing but teeth by crescenteluce (@janinaduszejko) -- 25k words, 3/3 chapters -> ALEX/GEORGE my favorite galex tropes are: friends with benefits, george being measurably pathetic (and obsessed with alex), and this exact type of miscommunication. so like, what more could you ask for?

six weeks by dropdeaddeadass (@oversteerey) -- 10.1k words, 3/3 chapters -> MARCUS/CLEM idk why i didn't mark this one before seeing how i read it like once a week. anyways. this is the fic that convinced me of the turned into a girl trope or whatever it's called AND it convinced me of clemarcus so really doing the most out here! cannot recommend it enough

hi! i've already talked a bit about it when i answered this ask earlier today 😌

so, i don't know when it happened, but i became aware of it mid-september when people on twitter were freaking out about the fact that june had deleted all viewjune pictures. tho we should've realized earlier that something was up because they basically stopped doing appearances together once the promo period for 23.5 had ended

tbh i did expect gmmtv to start promoting them more after 23.5 had finished - especially since the aylinluna story was well received by their audience, but that obviously didn't happen despite them having a growing fandom

now we can obviously only speculate as to what happened and why the ship was axed since they've never been official and they don't owe us an explanation. maybe gmmtv expected more from them engagement-wise or maybe view and june didn't want to work together anymore for whatever reason and that's okay. they seem to have moved on and so should we

gmmtv isn't actively promoting view and mim yet, but i think there is a chance that view is actually going to be paired with mim because they're lowkey ticking all the future cp boxes just like william and est did in early 2024

when it comes to june it's obvious that gmmtv have started to promote her a bit more and she's even had a solo fanmeeting in vietnam a couple of weeks ago. on top of that, june has mentioned something about a new partner during one of her lives but she didn't reveal whether said partner was female or male. she gave a hint saying that she wanted to go to singapore with them but said partner had recently been there. jamie was one of the only actors who have posted about being in singapore recently so this is why twitter is very 👀👀👀 about a possible jamiejune cp

Blue bubbles are mine, grey are the other person. I don't expect them to see this and l'm not calling them out or anything, just I see all of the really kind, supportive messages in my inbox and then there's this, from someone I had thought was sort of a friend? And like.

I left Twitter because it was negatively affecting my health. I struggle to maintain social contact, I always have. Because I struggle with feelings that my presence is unwanted. The rest, I'm honestly not sure what they're talking about. I object to Dr Doom, a Romani character, being played by a non-Romani actor. I've expressed that adding Sue into the DoomReed ship should be tagged differently to avoid confusion, because that's a different ship. I try to correct stereotypes and biases people aren't even aware of carrying against Romani people, Doom more specifically.

If they meant the time period two years ago where I was genuinely unwell and had a really bad episode due to a number of health-related factors: it was two years ago. I've changed doctors, treatment plans, and am in therapy even now. I've made apologies, as requested. They weren't accepted, but that's not something I can control.

I'm flawed. I get that. It's why I want to step back. I made this blog, made the first reading guide image from @rizahmad 's list, with their help, started DoomReed Week, maintained playlists, wrote the shipping wiki, idk what all else, because when I got into this fandom, those resources were either not there at all or very hard to find.

If me disengaging will make the resources I've created more palatable, I will gladly do that.

Most who look upon the Cook see only the legend, only the aggrandized myth—they must, for it to propagate. Thomas speaks like legend’s all but shorn away and left behind a man like any other, a man aged not a millennium but younger, even, than himself. A man who pets his cat and prunes his plants. And James with head-splitting dissonance sees them both, sees myth’s ghostly apparition like a translucent mask over the Cook’s face, a glamour, a shade. A visage false, and the true one, identical, just beneath.

Redundant thunder doubly cuts the thick air that had cocooned them—Mr. McGraw will surely sputter and scoot away, ashamed for having been so near, and the Cook doesn’t want to fucking deal with that, so he stands first. When he turns, the cat swipes with extended claws at the leaf of a tomato plant, reaching down from its pot as though to pet her. His shoulders tense with agitation: the tomatoes know she’s irritated by them, but they simply cannot help themselves. Now they’ll sulk, petulant, their fruits gone limp and wrinkly in the wake of this most grievous injury, the slight nicking of a single leaf. Ridiculous. The Cook stalks across the room and snatches the cat off the floor one-handed, mug still clenched tightly in the other. “Behave, both of you,” he says, glaring alternately at her and the tomatoes. “What did I say about keeping our hands to ourselves?”

3. what fandoms do you write for? - Marvel street level heroes, usually centering around fratt (Daredevil/Punisher) and their various friends / canonical love interests / enemies. DC bats & birds aka Batman and co., the Titans, and Slade Wilson + family, usually centering around sladick. I've also written a few fics for Peacemaker (DC show).

4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos? - hold on to let go, gift wrapping, blind date, for the right price, double vision (about an even split between sladick and fratt)

5. do you respond to comments? - yes, though I sometimes read them, go 🥰 and forget to reply for weeks (sorry, if I've done this to you know that I did read your comment and I love you)

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? - the better half probably had the most bittersweet ending; I don't think I've written any that were straight up sad

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? - most of my fics have happy endings, but I think twenty questions and for the right price are a toss-up for the happiest endings that also predict a happy future

16. What are your writing strengths? - I like to think I'm funny. Also I've been told I nail character voices.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? - taking 5ever to finish things, and Idk, maybe I need to kill my darlings more because I've written a few fics that I felt should NOT be that goddamn long but I also didn't know to cut them down

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? - I prefer to use the « » symbols and note that it's in another language in the text of the fic (sort of following comic book conventions). If I do use another language, I tend to use it sparingly and note what was said in English.

19. First fandom you wrote for? - Teen Titans 2003. I handwrote it on college rule paper and gave it to my friend to read in middle school. From what I remember, it was as bad as you'd expect lmao. The first fic I ever posted online was for Death Note, I'm pretty sure.

20. Favourite fic you've written? - sometimes I still think the future: a history is the best thing I ever wrote.

Hi!!!!!!! I'm gonna hopefully start sending prints to people soon, I've tried sending them to a couple of people and am waiting to see how it goes (like how long it takes to get to different places) and after that I'll probably start offering to more people if interested?

Idk how I feel about monetising it because I'd want them to be available to everyone so it would probably be that I'd ask people to pay shipping (which is like max £2.50) and then if some people would like they could send slightly more to fund my lino obsession??
