@yzzart -> my inspiration hello 🙏 she’s the reason i actually started writing for ultraman! her kenji boyfriend headcanons were the first things that caught my attention, and it sparked a bunch of will to write in me. she lowkey got me out of a writing block that lasted almost one year and im forever thankful for her beautiful existence 💗 her usage of vocabulary is IMPRESSIVE. i don’t usually have to google the meanings of words but the first time i ever did was when i read her writing and i mean that in the most positive way possible. it is ALWAYS a green flag when a writer uses big words and uses them right. her writing prowess is EVIDENT. and she deserves every nice word people say about her she is such a GORGEOUS girl

@reyalvr -> my friend who doesnt know shes my friend btw. we both went through the avatar -> ultraman pipeline and i think its so funny ?? i distinctly remember reading her ao’nung fics and eating them up ALL the time. when i discovered her again, i was like “oh! that username seems familiar?” and it’s kind of peculiar because while i do remember reading her writing back when i was still @/victoirey, and enjoying it because she devoured everytime, i don’t know if she’s had the same username for like forever? i digress! whatever it is, her writing always has me hooked. like i physically CANNOT stop reading. it put me in this trance like state and im like so “woah!” when i experience it because usually i can’t sit still. she deserves all the hype shes gotten; her writing is the closest thing to perfect, everything about it is entrancing. from the storyline to the dialogue, it all just falls into place. the only thing that isn’t perfect, is the fact that it ends. like why cant u just like write forever boo… come on😡💗

Hi babe! Ok let me deal with the James is a boy thing because I’m gonna be honest I’m queer aaaafffff and I don’t think Tay’s straight either but it always sounded like a boy singing to me. For me, it didn’t have that sapphic pining that SCREAMS I’m 17 and in love with this girl (who doesn’t know or who I hurt).

17 year old queer girls wouldn’t sing about “stupid friends” because THEY ARE THAT STUPID FUCKING FRIEND. (And it’s upsetting because we KNOW we wouldn’t fuck up and that IDIOT BOY is the one she wants). 17 year old queer girls are constantly stressing if they’re reading into something, if they’re understanding it correctly, if they’re actually being creepy and way off base. NO QUEER GIRL “won’t make assumptions” because of an action, we spend our lives overanalyzing everything. 17 year old queer girls wouldn’t be attempting to pull of a grand gesture at a party because it probably won’t work. 17 year old girls DON’T GET cool hot girl Augustine pulling over and saying: “James get in let’s drive” and seducing them. That’s, especially for 17 year olds, a deeply heterosexual level of confidence.

Throughout the song there is this heavy handed current of her male confidence and, as Tay said, foolishness (“he was a FOOL”) that queer girls for the most part don’t get to experience because we’re too fucking scared. We rarely get stuck into wlw triangles in high school because we barely know that ONE girl is also queer and into us. I mean I know this is changing so maybe for Gen Zers this sounded gayer but for me - as someone in my late 20s and thus closer to Tay’s age - it really didn’t. I did not relate to it.

But you know what is gay? Wanting to experience that feeling. Like Sim and I were talking about this last night - how she loved Teenage Dirtbag because it was fun to imagine having that experience and I had that with Nirvana tbh. Wanting to know what that confidence they have feels like is fucking gaaaay.

I love the wlw interpretation - I shared that gorgeous comic - and Taylor praised the many ways the album has been interpreted at the AMAs. But it’s not the only interpretation and her going “it’s from a 17 year old boy called James’s perspective” IN NO WAY MAKES IT LESS GAY because TAYLOR was embarking on this thought experiment and singing from that super confident, foolish, hetero male perspective... and this song is on an album with seven which she hasn’t no homoed at allllll and which is a deeply relatable, sapphic song that speaks to me (and to all other queer women I’ve spoken to).

As for why she didn’t come out last era? Idk maybe Masters or she chickened out because as I’ve said before while she’s with Joe she might feel like the flak isn’t worth the payoff. But it would be!!! COME OUT MESSY BI KWEEN!!! 😻😻
