#pokemon#pokemon oc#pokemon ranger#pokemon tcg#clai's ocs#oc: alto#clai's art#the thought process during this piece was literally ''NOOO I DONT WANT TO RENDER NOOOOO rendering is fine actually. i dont care anymore''#i tried to come up with a cool card effect? someone more well versed in the tcg please tell me if this is viable or op or sucks ass entirely#i will genuinely change the post if the effect is bad i want my beloved to have ONLY the best#other ideas i considered was smth like. finding a pokemon to play straight away to reference ranger capturing#or an effect that only benefit colorless type pokemon so that alto would pair with flying types that get assigned colorless#but since i wanted the card's name to be alto's Justice it felt more appropriate for the player to gain smth after being damaged#like maybe it depended on the opponents prize cards and how many they'd taken already#the prior effects like the colorless benefit would probably go on a standard ''Alto'' card that doesnt have the extra word appeneded yknow#i put plenty of thought into it haha i was browsing through the bulbapedia articles trying to figure out what a good card effect was#only played like. less than ten matches of tcg i'm still figuring stuff out JDJBFJF#the clouds also!! originally i was drawing generic fluffy clouds#but then it hit me. i named alto after specific clouds. why am i doing generic ones instead of the ones named Alto-Something#so these are meant to be altostratus! i can bearly draw generic clouds though idk how well i pulled off smth more specific HJEHFKF#had a lot to say abt this one i just really liked the idea of an alto card so i made sure it was as perfect as i could get it

L#anyway. for lleyth it's actually hard for me to figure out for once bc like i could see pride for obvious reasons including solas#but at the same time i think lleyth is... actually quite humble and does not believe themself to be any better or more qualified than anyon#like they dont want the position they're in at all and they doubt their own leadership skills constantly#and they do what they must bc they have to. not bc 'they're the only one who can (do it right)' like solas wants to believe ab himself#and i think people who make good targets for pride are people who would do anything for power. lleyth does not want that#which leads me to think they would probably be targeted by despair.#i think they are someone who is used to being forced to lock away their sadness and either turn it into useful rage or compartmentalize it#but there is just. a deep and profound sense of not belonging anywhere and doubting their place in the world/others' lives#and if they weren't the type of person whose instincts kick in like a failsafe and make them keep fighting no matter what#i feel like they really would be stopped in their tracks by an overwhelming feeling of futility and misery#and there are a Lot of miserable moments in lleyth's life a demon could use to manipulate that within them 😔#plus despair seems to be the polar opposite of determination. which considering spite really likes/is drawn to lleyth... yeah. yeah#and the fact that despair demons constantly single out rook in combat is like. haha whats going on there bud........#and i personally think the inverse of this question (what spirit would be drawn to them) answer would be determination#bc damn kid you don't know how to quit. you will punch up at the cost of even your own fists and it's admirable#constantly swinging at something bigger than you that you cant take down etc etc#*take me to war by the crane wives starts playing as i lean out over the balcony smoking a cigarette*#take me to war honey i dare you. i'll be the sweetest thing to ever scare you <3 etc etc#plus its also tasty to me to think about lucanis having to break them out of the Despair Mind Prison#by chipping away at all of the awful things they believe about themself. as payback#🫵 get loved and adored idiot

Damn, what if I reworked Starbreaker to be exclusively in Anarac's pov instead of trying to balance 5 new povs in one book?
Thoughts?
#ok so pros#1) he's got objectively the most significance to and stakes within the plot#2) he's kind of a non-entity for the first few chapters so i can just use him as a lens for seeing the other characters at first#more of a narrator than an actual character#like [REDACTED] in Rel's haunting but less omniscient#3) the five pov thing really might be a bit much for one book#you just can't do a solid character arc for five entire characters in the span of maybe 90k words#which leads us to cons#1) I'd be giving Anarac more focus at the expense of everyone else#he can be nosy sure but we wont get to see Pash's insane perspective or the internal view of Nyda and Kaulakri falling in love#actually i think less time in Faalgun's head could be a boon to his character but still#2) I've never written a full novel with only one pov and I'm scared#3) Anarac has a lot of issues guys#issues that will keep him from wanting to get off the boat and follow the crew into danger#i could do a few planetary exploration povs from other characters but i feel like that defeats the point#idk i need opinions#writing#writerscommunity#writblr#my ocs#writing questions

Me: I actually think the reason why Leshy was in the Devolver Father’s Day post is cause in that specific picture he was a bartender giving a bunch of beer and that’s a classic Dad Drink so I don’t really think it was meant to imply he was a dad himself

Shamura felt bad but granted his wish#idk maybe they’ve got some kind of magic that can mess with minds! well tehy literlaly do actually#so maybe it works with getting rid of memories too!#thing is the memories aren’t actually GONE gone. they’re just kinda. locked away

revisiting my roots as an artist - never sketching, never planning, and going straight to the inks. and also drawing traditionally again. with some digital colours
speaking of my roots as an artist, so many people say my art is cute/storybook/wholesome vibes which is funny cause i started off drawing a lot of bloody evil gorey demon things. 14 y/o me would not be happy with me for going down the route i ended up taking - i wanted to be edgy.
#my art#oc#pathos#drawing traditionally again is a big reminder that i have no set process and draw differently with every medium#i feel like i never do these sort of lines digitally. maybe because i don't have the right brushes to make it look good but idk#but also maybe i live with my work so much i see every minor difference whereas most people just see a more homogenous style#it's so funny to me that whenever i look at art that isn't my own i'm like wow this is all intentional and stylistic and cool#but i have no idea if that artist actually wanted to do that or it just happened by accident#or god forbid they don't even like what i like about their work and they see it as ugly and something to work on#anyone get me. i'm flying by the seat of my pants for so much of my process and i hate things about my work that other people might like#rambling again im sorry. it happens at night always i have 1000000 thoughts

I’ve been working on some ER Nox OCs, but they’re not really fleshed out yet, so the newest is probably Mercurio’s earliest love interest. Her name is Xiomara (another DS OC ofc) and she’s from Zena. She’s a fellow merchant, and they meet at a festival when she sees Merc’s stall and rearranges it to help them sell things better lol. I haven’t drawn her yet, but I do have some picrews. I liked these because I can imagine Merc putting stars in her hair. I think she’d have a fun time decorating their horns in return.

Not to keep adding ideas to the ever-growing pile I have, but I do think a lot about a fic of Sanji’s siblings coming crashing back into his life once he’s settled down in the All Blue.
Like Sanji is living his dream. He’s got his restaurant, he’s got Zoro, he’s got three beautiful children, he’s got his found family in the crew and the baratie. He’s fully thriving and BAM a big ass ship shows up one day and out pops his siblings looking for him.
And he so fucking mad because he never wanted to see any of them again. He especially didn’t want his kids within 100 miles of them. But they roll up to his restaurant (or house, depending what kind of narrative tension you want to have) and say “dad’s dead. Come home for his funeral”
Aaaaand that’s all I got.

I need to know if I'm delusional and projecting onto random characters or if Adam and/or Steve are neurodivergent
You can project whatever you want on them, and I don't know that it's "canon" so to speak but I write them with neurodivergent intent in mind just based on my own life experiences!
so I'm projecting on them too, but it's up for debate whether that's coming across in the text.
Adam is autistic and Steve has ADHD. To Me.

#the pain of wanting to talk about ocs but not what to say#s o b#forget art block how do i deal with oc block#id call it writing block but i always have that lol#vibrates#i wanna talk about my idiots#like the corpse trade in london#especially since depending on what youre reading on site people come back to their bodies or they dont#its not super consistant#like i know darcy wouldnt care but others WOULD depending on if you come back ot your original body#which i think is true???#idk man its super unclear#but its super morally dubious and I KNOW det doe isnt cool with it at all think of the FIGHTS#couples arguments but make them about philosophy and the fact that youre both actually diametrically opposed to things and you cant always#have a healthy work life balance between the two of you#because even if it works most of the time darcy is going to end up working on someone his husband thinks deserves better#especially if he finds out about the burking darcy did on the surface#cutting out the middleman as it were#and cutting the middleman#anyway i wanna talk about ocs help
