Why did I recently realize that Sumi tying the ribbon back in her hair when officially joining the group actually kinda parallels to when she did it during her first session with Maruki but the contexts are different??

So starting off with what is probably the most popular dynamic in this series: Bo and Erica!! To say they’ve both Gone Through It is an understatement, and them both finding comfort and safety in each other is amazing to me!! Like. Erica’s had so many people die on her and the reaction to finding out that was nearly impossible to lose Bo was just. Flawless. Can’t believe Dan improvised that. And Bo was sent to just kill Mar and work for Screamith but Erica was pretty much the start to her letting her true self shine and developing an actual attachment to The Incident!! It’s so awesome how Dan has wrote them. we love our gay level 6 “friendship” girlbosses ‼️‼️

Mar and Orion have also gone through a handful of things before the series begins, and the relationship they develop as the series progresses is pretty dang interesting! as much as the fandom focus on EriBo as a romantic thing, more people need to talk about how Mar has explicitly shown he has a crush on Orion. MULTIPLE TIMES. The idea of Orion opening up to Mar after he lost his wife and Mar opening up to Orion after his time as the Dark Curse and AGGHH I love these two so much and the way they interact every time they’re on screen is amazing. old man yaoi

I imagine C!Failboat and Erica as exes. like they dated for like a week and were both mutually like “that was awful let’s just stay friends”, They had a bunch of small interactions together (especially in S1) and I like them being friendly towards each other, Erica finding a friend in C!Fail was a pretty good step for her arc! I also think the idea of C!Fail and Erica being childhood friends in non-Miitopia AUs very intriguing!! Any content of those two interacting (that isn’t romantic) is always a nice thing to see!

Taking a break from the more popular relationships/friendships in this series, we have Deko and Joker!! For two characters that barely interact in canon there’s a lot you can do with them! They’re just two anime boys trying to survive in this weird party. I have a lot of thoughts on them but I just can’t form it aghahajsjjs but the main one is that they aren’t alone in what they’re going through, and no matter what backstory you use for Joker it still has a lot of potential!! I’m sure people can explain this one better than I can I just really like this rarepair!! while on the topic of Joker, shoutouts to his friendship with Lanc!! You can’t convince me Joker didn’t have a crush on them. Just watch their interactions in Karkaton and you’ll probably get what I mean lmaoo

I just need to mention the sisters!! even if they aren’t sisters by blood, Chi and Erica both have the energy! Chi being the thing that really gets Erica out of her “I hate everything” phase in both seasons needs to be talked about more. They bring out the best in each other I swear,, again I promise I can talk about them more my brain just isn’t giving me the words rn, but I think Gnome explains it best!

While on sibling dynamics, Bill and Shrimp is so great to me. Like. Bill helping Shrimp out not only because he likes her music, but also out of the genuine kindness of his heart is so sweet to me!! They’re so nice every time they’re on screen together and it’s fun to see them battling by each other’s sides!! plus the matching outfits in the finale was also a great touch :]

I’ve mentioned these two before, but Bill and Chi are criminally underrated imo. Like. They’re the only members of the Incident who have just recently turned 18, Chi’s literally Bill’s mentor after he changed jobs, and their dynamic is just so fun to work with!! Bill’s more mature and ‘normal’ while Chi is Chi and will set things on fire For Science and I think scenarios where they’re together are really fun to come up with!! Same with Shrimp and Chi!! The sister dynamic they have is also super underrated, like they’re a Fire and Water duo!! I think there’s a lot of things you can do there :0

look I am more than aware these two have never interacted but that’s cuz Dan is a COWARD and knows that Bo and Lanc being in the same room would lead to so much mayhem lmaoo. Out of everyone in The Incident (apart from Chi obviously) I see Lanc getting along with Bo the best! a lot of stuff I have for them is pretty based on fanon but you can’t tell me they wouldn’t gossip about the lastest drama with the party and the outside world. I swear they’re besties, they relate to each other, just hear me out. I also think Rose and Bo can be great friends and they really have a LOT in common!! Princess who faked their whole identity gang ‼️‼️

I love Erica and Rose just being each other’s biggest hater, it’s my favorite thing ever. it’s canon that Rose only shows off for Erica to prove to her that she’s better than her and that’s amazing to me. They’re both just so done with each other lmaoo (also the headcanon of them each other’s gay awakenings is perfect)

I think Friend and Mar interactions could be cool!! Like for starters they had some pretty huge connections to Hank they could bond over. also I find Mar being canonically a demon mixed with the headcanon of Friend being an angel very fun!! I also think Friend and Erica could be fun to see, especially with Erica’s past as a Cleric!! shared jobs and trauma!!

Mar and literally any FailFleet member can be funny I think, like we already have the Neksdor Three obviously, but I think an ACTUAL Bob and Mar reunion will lead to someone getting beat up lol, everyone in the S1 Squad would all have very different view points on if Mar deserves to be forgiven or not, or if he’s a good leader, etc. and I think that there should be more done with that!!

Orion’s friendship with the rest of The Incident is also a very important part of why the party is the way it is!! There’s absolutely characters with awful relationships to their dads, fathers that are barely around, or just never had a parental figure at all. I LOVE that Orion was able to fill that void for those party members, and he does a damn good job at it too!! And of course the parallels he has with Erica is great, both are stubborn warriors with a lot of baggage, but also have a lot of differences, like their views on stuff like becoming a healer!! Orion being like a mentor to Erica is great. also shoutouts to Slapo, we love her. I think her interacting with other members of The Incident is also something that’s needed more!!

Speaking of fathers, scenes with Chat and C!Fail are downright hilarious! Chat’s insanity mixed with C!Fail’s attitude always leads to some crazy thing going down! Chat with anyone really is always a treat, since they’re way more than too much to handle most of the time, and seeing how everyone reacts to their shenanigans is always gonna be fun!!

Smuk, Rose, and Bob’s relationship is just perfection. Bob obviously crushing on Rose is so great to see when they have scenes together and Smuk basically proposing to Rose (but not really) with that ring is also cool!! And of course we gotta mention Smuk and Bob’s bromance in Greenhorne, those two were inseparable a lot of the time I swear, I love them a lot, I’m praying if we get S3 we have those three come back (along with Petunyawn)

Deko’s friendship with both Chi and Lanc is vital to his arc!! Similar to Erica, he had gone through quite a lot before S1 and traveling with them got him to warm up to them and helped him get better control of his powers!! Lanc and Chi being absolute goofsters while Deko has no energy is VERY amusing!! also Deko, someone who was experimented on, being paired up with two soon-to-be scientists is vile lmaoo, why do you do this Dan /pos

Maybe it was because "the only assistant that can deal with his job and his intense boss" relationship was actually kind of nice and different from the sidekick thing. and the JLU episode "Epilogue" took that concept and tainted it by saying "he had to be Batman, it's in his blood".

But the text of the episode genuinely refutes that and it just makes it...tonally messy and bittersweet? idk i ain't mad which is why I've picked at this tangled ball of yarn to get at this story.

Maybe it's not the making an heir to the Bat was enraging, as you realize, Cassandra Cain was introduced in 1999, the literal incarnation of Scary Fighter with Soft Side. Damian Wayne was retooled in 2006 and we all love a little Murder Child getting Growth, and Duke Thomas from 2013 is shaping up to be a great all rounder for the title of both Scary and Great Detective.

Even skipping Dick being Batman for a year and it sticking, the other Robins could wear the cowl as well. Maybe it was something else?

Currently, in the Modern!or Comics!DC, Terry is redundant because of all of the Batfam that have been introduced before and after him. And because of Fandom Telephone Fanon, it's hard to interpret older canon as fairly.

With how the Batman Beyond story is structured, Bruce has to be isolated, old and alone in order to trust Terry with the cowl. It's an escapist fantasy and it's a redemption for both of them. It's implied that the Justice League is not as strong as it used to be. The Age of Heroes is over. there was a "near apocalypse of '09"

Especially looking at Wayne Family Adventures, it's hard to imagine all of the Batfam just goes their own ways and doesn't check in.

Terry's origin and start as Batman is fundamentally incompatible with modern canon. It does not work with the concept of the "Batfamily" and even the "extended Batfamily".

Because of that we have to step back in time to 1999 where Terry was created and we also have to completely disregard the comics. Because he was created specifically for the streamlined DCAU.

At this point in the DCAU, the New Adventures of Batman wrapped up. There's Nightwing, Barbara Gordon (only Batgirl, not Oracle, even though the incident that put her in a wheelchair was written in 1988, the DCAU didn't adapt it), Tim Drake (who was combined with Jason Todd, taking over his outfit and backstory). that have been in the BatFamily. Three people who could try to take the cowl.

And then we get into the incident from the Return of the Joker, which was alluded to in series but never actually described. Where the Batfam Blows Up. and Bruce just carries on and isolates himself from Everyone.

Yeah, making a new incarnation of Batman sounds like a pretty good option at this point.

What I'm trying to say. the "Batman Beyond" project, at the time both in universe and out of it, made sense. but like all "future worlds", time catches up and eventually surpasses it.

So I've been thinking about the latest Only Friends Episode. Yes, I'm watching it too, I just never talked about it in text form.

Anyway, I still haven't processed this episode because my heart is breaking in every episode when I see Sand's face. And that scene in the end was the icing on the cake and idk how to recover. When is it Sand happy hours, seriously. Every episode he gets dragged along and then pushed aside (sometimes literally *coughepisode6cough*).

Anyway, I've just been thinking about the preview of the next episode. Drama aside with the drugs and whatever happened to Mew there but I was thinking about the choice of dress up for that fancy dress party thing they attend.

First of all Mew and Ray. Mew with that shirt is clearly dressed up as Harley Quinn and after looking at the SandRay scene, Ray's outfit indicates the Joker if I'm correct. So they go as Joker and Harley, which in itself is already a doomed relationship. However, I don't know if the roles should have been reversed. Not because Mew is in his villain era (not that Harley isn't in theory also in a villain era at all times) but because Harley is the one who's always hung up by the Joker and follows him around at all times and tries to make him like her. So in theory Ray should have been Harley. But that's beside the point. What I was thinking is the choice. They chose a doomed relationship of two very f**ked up characters which kinda represents their current situation. Arguably I can understand Ray being the Joker given the origin story and his mental state. Mew is Harley Quinn because she isn't actually a villain but shit drove her the way she is and she's just gone crazy and with Mew starting his villain arc I feel like that fits perfectly.

Now Sand. As I realised after a second glance, and also not shocking, he's dressed as Freddie Mercury who we all know is a very troubled character if you know his life story. Freddie Mercury is a troubled soul who puts up this persona on stage for a little bit, to forget about the troubles in his life. Lady Gaga is the same kind of troubled character and so are a lot of musicians. Sand is also a musician with inner struggles who is a very different and happy person on stage. He smiles on stage and is genuinely carefree when he performs. As soon as he leaves the stage the troubles await. The only other times he smiles is when he's with his mum (who I absolutely ADORE) and his happy moments with Ray (before he gets kicked around and dragged through the mud). The fact that in the preview he is about to kiss another Freddie Mercury dress-up kinda plays on the "You should love yourself" line he said to Ray. I don't know if Sand actually fully loves himself. He doesn't indicate that he doesn't but I don't think he hates himself or the way he is. He is just broken hearted. We don't know all of his life story. We know his dad is not around but, as we found out in this episode as well, he doesn't care about that. His mum is nice and supportive and he has a dream to travel and see all the musicians and be a musician. He has been the most put together character so far in this show (aside of his multiple heartbreaks over Ray and his feud with Top over their ex (which I'm still curious about) and Boston's general assery).

I just find it interesting when you look at the characters they chose to dress up as and how it kinda correlates with their own person. I'm curious what the others are dressed up. I know Top is there but I forgot what he was wearing, if he was even at the party to begin with or just went there later because of drama.

I also find it interesting how Sand saw MewRay but didn't act on it (or at least I think he didn't because we don't know the aftereffect of that but given that he tells Ray he's no rebound and the multiple times he said that he didn't care...which he's lying about but that's why I said he's putting up that persona) but as soon as Sand even lays eyes on someone else (cue to next episodes preview) he gets all possessive and intervenes right away. Which, Ray, baby, I love you, but you're not very subtle about your crush on Sand. Also, the fact that he says, "I can love as many people as I want", yes, you can but don't string them all along. At least before you didn't act on your Mew crush but now you do while also stringing Sand along for your convenience on him being always there for you. They both have feelings, you can't just be selfish and think you can just have them both when you want it and not have one of them (or both) hurt in the process. Again, I love you but I wanna slap some sense into your brain so badly.

I don't know what the point was of this post but ah well.

Joker. Lets be real, if his outfit didn't work, this game would fall apart. Joker feels as exactingly designed physically as Rhys Borderlands was and it shows. The bad thing about Joker's outfit is that it is so damn good so when I put him in other outfits to get the BGM swap, I'm sad. 8C He's in Gekkoukan a lot because I need "Wiping All Out."

Futaba. I'm a fan of her big hips and her glowy tron vibe, it's great.

Haru. Her outfit is just cute! She is the Beauty Thief, it's true!

Makoto. It's UNREAL how cool she looks for how much I refuse to use her in combat. I wish I could give her outfit to other characters.

Yusuke. I warmed up to it but it took a while. I love fluffy tail so much.

Ann. The first on the list that I just don't like, I tend to put her in other outfits. It's funny because the fit of her catsuit is probably similar to Futaba's, but Ann's looks SO much more uncomfortable.

The KagePro fandom wiki has clearer screenshots than what I can get from the Outer Science MV... I ripped the YouTube videos myself, but comparing the screenshots, they're lighter and clearer than the Original MV posted online...

The only thing that makes sense to me is if the people managing the Wiki (who are also the main scanners/archivers in the KagePro fandom) have access to the Mekakucity V's Blu-ray/DVD that contains the original KagePro Song MVs, and that the Blu-ray (BD) edition has colour corrections applied to it to make certain details easier to see

Like you can actually see the straps on his sleeves, the lines and colours, and the cracked glass texture that's overlayed on the entire MV, much better

The Original MV posted online is already in HD but I imagine it has to be compressed for web upload? It makes me so curious about the Blu-ray cuz the Blu-ray versions would definitely have them in the highest quality possible. Ultra HD.

It's lighter so you can actually see the lines/details better on his clothes (like you can see the lines of the straps on his sleeves) and the details are much clearer

I also edited out the note Sidu made that marked the height of Kido's older sister, Rin, who is 165 cm

It was a manual edit I did using CSP's Copy Stamp tool

You can select an area and copy the pattern to do touch ups. It works great.

Depending on the art, Kuroha's either drawn with all black colours that are the same colour, or black outer clothes and a collar, inner shirt, and boots that are a darker black.

I personally prefer the 2nd (with the inner clothes and his collar and boots being darker) cuz it adds more visual contrast to his design, which uses mainly black, gray, and yellow colours.

KagePro Playing Cards: Upscaled Versions (My Edits)

Upon further inspection, I looked at the Kuroha Joker card PFP icons and saw that it must've been from the DMM image preview cuz there was still a bit of the grain/pixelated-ness, just blurred

So I think I know what they did. They upscaled the image so that it gets the image in higher resolution. It blurs the lines subtly, but it reduces noise (smooths out the grain/pixels on the image). It must be the same method that manga scanners use to upscale manga.

persona 5 tactica update: at the final dungeon (I'd presume) with angel boi.

i hate it here.

first of all, the design of the final dungeon is... interesting. I understand what they're going for - the characters even explicitly said it: that it's meant to be boring and ugly and same-y because that's what stagnancy is like - but it doesn't change that it... is boring and ugly and same-y in a very unappealing way.

in the same way, I understand what they're going for with the boss gauntlet, but I also... dislike it. I don't think just reskinning the bosses to be silver like this is goddamn inverse-xibalba (...I'm so sorry for comparing this place to xibalba persona 2 I love you xibalba and your metal recreations of figures of trauma) is that interesting. I would have really liked it if they made new (can still be monochrome/silver!) twisted/distorted designs of the previous bosses, or at least modified the designs slightly more, to really hammer home that these are just recreations Salmael made without the glimmer-glammer-oomph-whatever of Toshiro's memories.

in addition. having Toshiro join the party was really... interesting. the reveal that Elle was actually his Persona was very ??? and even the game talks about how it's such a special unique case. so. don't think I even need to go there. they really put themselves in a corner idk. it also doesn't make a ton of sense to me that you can still use Elle as an individual unit but also have Toshiro in the party using her as a Persona, but. okay.

Toshiro had a mask for .5 seconds that he ripped off during his Persona awakening and then just never got a Phantom Thief outfit of any kind. anything to spice his design up. even just a goddamn PHANTOM THIEF CODENAME. NOPE!! It honestly feels like an act of laziness or oversight, since this is one of the things the game didn't even bother to explain! unlike how kindly it tried to explain Elle and the Kingdoms.

the reveal, btw, that the Kingdoms were just... made by Salmael to break Toshiro's spirit is something. as is that Salmael is THIS obsessed with one man. even the man that's going to be prime minister. seriously. why not bother some billionaire with tons of financial power who could easily end world hu - nvm I'm giving it too much credit. gotta dial it back. anyway.

I don't mind Salmael as a concept. at this point we are all used to the obligatory world-ending god final boss in Persona. it's a requirement for any given Persona game. I do mind how Salmael gets to be responsible for Everything and how his existence gets to wave away any more interesting worldbuilding about Kingdoms. I was really hoping we'd get something about, idk, remnants of Shido's faction doing experiments on Shido's successor or some shit. nope. To be fair maybe I will get that. I haven't fully cleared the game yet. But thus far, nope.

Another thing that interests me is just how much... better a fit for this game's protagonist/focus Eri seems to be. she wants to be a journalist - super fitting for the PTs. she has a strong sense of justice. she got screwed over in the past and framed for a crime she didn't commit (like Joker!). she's so cool. why is Elle just here to be Toshiro's pet Eri. why is Toshiro the main guy and not her cute traumatized boyfriend she has to save.

Oh, and another thing! So many interesting things this game gives me to think about! Why is Toshiro's Persona of the opposite gender to him...? I think that this is like, a single case of this occurring, or else just generally rare since I don't remember any instances (outside the wildcard protags taking on female Personas). Personally I think it's funny to imagine that Toshiro is trans or some flavor of genderqueer and hasn't realized it yet. I know it's probably meant to be some romantic BS but in my dreams... Idk maybe Toshiro's gay and Toshiro's 'attraction' to Elle/Eri is because Toshiro wants to BE her. In my dreams.

Since I've been working my way backwards, it seems: Toshiro's Shadow. Oh, Toshiro's Shadow. He doesn't make any sense. He doesn't have any internal logic. He expresses "ohhhh we got Eri hurt we're so baddddd" and then five seconds later "ohhh Eri is so badddd with her rebellious ideaalssss". The game is like "oh yeah this is Toshiro's Shadow totes for reals" and I'm sitting here going "no this is clearly some shit evil god-angel bitch made up to fuck with Toshiro. this is nothing like anything Toshiro has ever said ever". It sucks. Reminds me of Persona 4, in a bad way.

Usually I try to put some positives in these posts to not be too negative towards the game. It's a little difficult this time since I am now FORCED to have Toshiro in my party even if I would rather leave his ass to rot. I dislike having him there and would very much like to continue my fun routine of rotating party members around to get to play with everyone. He disrupts this by never going tf away. Game didn't even force me to use ELLE most of the time and yet now I always have to use Toshiro. Man...

Well. I did finally change the game's difficulty from Normal to Hard. I thought I wasn't that good at strategy games, so it might just be that the game's difficulty curve isn't quite right. That, or I'm actually good at the game. Not sure which. Anyway the seratonin hit of making giant-ass All Out Attack triangles to hit ten million enemies with at once? Addictive. Beautiful. Best part of this game.

part of my dream was a dream about sleeping. except I was in my room at mom's house at around 7pm when the sun was just about freshly down but not dark yet everything was blue there was the neighbors kid maybe 5-7 years hanging out doing SOMETHING in the corner? some kind of computer game he wanted to show me...? idk. i was trying to sleep. until he told his mom that I was sleeping instead ot watching him & I was like well I can't look bad to the parents I guess so I got up I don't remember what he was playing. I think it was a turn based game for kids mouse controlled only. who knows.

then later, something about going upstairs from my room to a spaceship? or maybe I went downstairs.maybe it was just like a higher tech lab, but not high tech in an everything is white way but more how you'd see a kids lab from like an older movie. like spy kids maybe. idk lots of round flared designs, Windows that bulged out aand were like thick green or orange or purple. kind of like a kids playground at mcdonalds or something. I miss those they just don't let you do those anymore in your 20s.... anyway. indony remember much of the lab. some omega striker characters were there. I remember estelles new skin + atlas + Luna, & I think atlas got gravely injured stabbed or shot in the lung maybe body blocking for his sister ? Juliette was there too. and shenhe.. anyway he tried to heal himself but it wasn't working, so he used the lab to pit himself into stasis. luna didn't totally get it - not sure if she was in denial (considiering the loss of both their parents) or if atlas shielded her from knowing just how badly he was hurt. Julie & shenhe left briefly on some kind of travel pod to go to the nearby outpost or planet or something to explore to look for resources, but as soon as they left they messaged back again sounding haggard like thank god you're still here & it turns out there was a time anomaly related to where they were going. it brought back someone's grandma who'd come to visit us as a teenage girl.

that's where my dream memory ends but as long as im slightly mentioning omega strikers i think that purely from a character design standpoint kazan is really meh. 2/10. hater shit below

his outfit just looks bad. on his splash art they wanted him to look crazy so they gave him anime shading around the eyes but on his model he just looks like he's wearing a solid black mask. and his giant earring tassels thst look like extensions of his hair are weird, and I think his outfit is really bland it's just a black long jscket shirt over orange pants & it's all got triangles on it. idk maybe they dressed him plainly to emphasize his umbrella more & I guess it's cool they're shaking traditional umbrella fighter stereotype by not making him noble or refined it or a classy gentleman or whatever, but he's just like the joker of violence. his kit is ok it's cool he can change stances but I'm just talking from an appearance standpoint. he is ugly and his outfit sucks!!!

at least with other characters I don't like the appearance of as much either, like their personality jumps out at you immediately. Estelle's outfit with the giant shoulders cape & the skintight bodysuit is like yes this is a woman who's proud of herself and knows she looks good. kai is kai. he's got the swaggy over the shoulders jacket and a relatively plain outfit underneath. this also tells me a lot about him. even atlas 's base skin is like ok this guy is sturdy, reliable, also sciency, he's even got all the constellations inside his sleeves. i like atlas but his bsse skin is only ehh to me.like you can tell from looking at him what he's like.

and the main thing about kazan that conveys anything to me is that he stands like a crazy person on the select screen and hes doing finger guns to his head in his splash art. no drip at all. even rasmus has "young scientist" vibes.

i play with voice acting off also. I don't want to hear any of them talk. i did see that scaramouche's VA was kazan, so that's another point for him though. pat pedraza did a great job with scara. ok the end

Kyoko: Zorga. This is so not big brain of me, but her VA plays Am in Vanguard G (Also Suiko in the original my beloved entity), who used Granblue, and Zorga is like, the closest thing to Granblue in D. Yes I like making characters have boss units based on if their VA was in VG.

lol side note put an Angel Feather boss in Bushi, please, then I can make Kyoko use it.

Yuka: Dragonic Overlord. Since Overlord can attack more than once, I think it'd suit Yuka who totallly has no limit when it comes to working out.

Esora: Welstra. Easiest option. Welstra can use Product cards to get a power boost and other silly effects like making a huge ass ship to blast shit, Esora would so do that for Peaky.

Saki: Seraph Snow. Idk I always imagined Saki using a Vanguard deck like Link Joker to lock down opponents. Seraph Snow scratches that itch.

Ibuki: Bavsargra. BEST GIRL BAV. Bav is basically a shrine maiden possessed by a god. I think she suits Ibuki, since her family do operate a shrine. Plus Bav has a lil guy (Trickmon) and Ibuki has a lil guy (cat).

Towa: Michu. I think Michu's the cutest ride line in Lyrical. She kinda gives off Towa energy tbh.

Noa: Fortia. Fortia has this skill to make friends with units she calls. The cards that Fortia works with are also cute. Lyrical Monastario is just the cute nation. Noa would thrive.

Rika: Bruce. I think a rush down, jump right in and attack is Rika. Plus she's probably played whatever sport the Diabolos boys play is inspired by.

Marika: Kyouka. Idk how to explain why, but Kyouka just feels right for her?

Saori: Eva. She plays seriously, she knows what's meta. Probably owns most meta decks, but Eva would be my choice based on style.

Dalia: This is literally the only reason I think about this collab a lot. LUQUIER, MY BELOVED. Luquier is from back when Vanguard had clans in the "standard" format, and her clan, Pale Moon, is a troupe of circus performers who can totally assinate people. Luquier can control dragons with her gaze, and Dalia scares people with hers! Both could kill someone but also slay on stage.

Tsubaki: Phantom Blaster Overlord/ Phantom Blaster Dragon. Aesthetically, Tsubaki with PBO just feels right like yes that is the main vocalist of Rondo Tsubaki Aoyagi and her massive abyss dragon, pay no mind.

Nagisa: Vermillion. "In my day, we had to get 4 damage to use Limit Break skills" ~ idk Nagisa probably. She just feels like a person who'd have a Narukami boss.

Hiiro: Another one that just feels so right; Hexaorb Magus. Hiiro's interest in fortune telling just works so well with how Hexaorb plays. I could imagine her just smiling so casually as she slays with knowing exactly what card is gonna be drawn.

Michiru: Avantgarda (I think that's how you spell it). Michiru just kinda feels like she'd want a mecha. I want that for her.

Lumina: Solrairon. It's kinda like Hexaorb, but you guess what card is on top? I just feel like that would suit Lumina, being able to call out the exact card without second guessing.

Hayate: Flagburg Dragon, this is a joke pick like I so think Hayate would see the burger boat dragon and go "lol I want that."

Kokoa: Minerva. It got harder the more I did and by the time I got to Unichord, my brain broke. Kokoa gets a goddess as she deserves tho.

Neo: Orfist. It gives massive villain vibes.

Sophia: Youthberk. She'd also play to win like Saori, but Sophia put way more cash in by having Youthberk. I think he works well considering her relies on new forms of himself, and Sophia obviously has her cool mode on stage.

Elsie: Almajestar. Elsie gives off lowkey Sophie Belle (the character in WillDress who uses this deck) energy, where she gets a lil unhinged and just fucks shit up with the Almajestars. Would she call someone a dog? Yes.

Weronika: Gravidia. Weronika would sooooo be the type to be like "In this card game I want to throw meteors at someone".

Rei: Tamayura. Considering Rei's traditional background, I think she'd pick the cute Yokai gal.

Rinku: Nirvana Jheva. It's different to what Shinobu would have, Shinobu has OverDress Nirvana, but Jheva is X-overdress. Literally a protag card.

Muni: Haseritt is a bunny girl I think? Muni would.

Reader is one of the original Task Force X members. Maybe related to Harley or was in the same position as Harley with the joker. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Her and flag have a "thing" and he's looking at her in her outfit kinda similar to Harley's and she's sitting beside Harley when see she weasel. "What the fuck is that?"

Mission - Rick Flag x Reader

"Wake up, L/N. It's go time."

You cracked one eye open to see none other than Colonel Rick Flag standing outside of your cell. You waved, awkwardly, and he nodded back.

"Where are we going, again?"

"Corto Maltese," said Rick. "Big island."

You nodded, and Rick walked you out of your cell and briefed you on the mission.

A group of other Squad members - plus a few you didn't recognize - were standing out on the airfield, getting ready. One of the guards threw a bag of clothes at you, and you glared at him.

"Hey!" Rick snapped. "Be nice."

You grinned, casually undressing and going through your clothes. Well, not really your clothes - Harley's. After you'd escaped from the Joker, you'd taken refuge at her apartment, and she'd kindly gifted you a large portion of her wardrobe.

Harley, you thought quietly, had terrible taste.

You glanced around, suddenly aware that everyone had stopped around you - even Rick.

Especially Rick.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I-I wasn't - I wasn't looking at you," Rick insisted, but his face was red. "It's just... in front of everybody-"

You shrugged.

"Getting kidnapped by the Joker made me a little uninhibited," you informed him. "My body's my own. I can show it off whenever... or to whoever... I like."

He grinned, and you knew he understood.

"Damn, Punchline," Blackguard - your best friend - whistled, crossing the airfield to you. You performed your secret handshake with him - which ended in a chest bump - while Rick rolled his eyes in the background.

Your friendship with Blackguard, you knew, was Rick's least favorite thing about you.

"You look pretty good, yourself," you told him, straightening his tunic.

"Hey, you want me to shoot the guard who threw the clothes at you? What are they gonna do - put me in jail?"

You laughed, shaking your head.

"I'm good, Hertz - save your bullets."

He shrugged, glancing over at the guard and mock-reaching for his gun. The guard cowered, then he did it again.

"That's enough, Hertz," Rick stated. "That's enough."

"Aw, come on, man. That guy was a jerk-”

“Yeah, well, if I wanted him shot, he’d be dead already. You can trust that.”

“Flag, that’s enough,” you insisted, getting between the two of them. “He was just screwing around-”

“Yeah? Well, one day, he’s gonna get us all killed,” Rick snapped. “And I just hope I’m there to see it.”

He slammed past you, and Blackguard swallowed.

“Wow, he’s kinda serious, huh?”

You shook your head, boarding the plane, Blackguard climbing in beside you.

“So,” said one of the new members, “This is the famous Suicide Squad.”

“Well, we consider that term degrading,” Flag told him. “The official term is ‘Task Force X.’ And, love ’em or hate ’em, these are your brothers and sisters for the next few days - Captain Boomerang, Blackguard, Mongal, Javelin, T.D.K., Weasel... and, of course, Punchline and Harley Quinn.”

He gestured derisively at you, and then Harley, who was boarding the plane.

“Flag. Oh, sorry. Comin’ through. Hey, Boomer.”

“What are you doing back in prison, Harls?”

She shrugged.

“I got road rage. In a bank.”

Beside you, Javelin and Blackguard were struggling with his seatbelt.

“Turn it around. There. No.”

“There? Here?”

“Put it in there. Now you’re safe.”

“All right. Thanks, man.”

“We’re in a butcher’s freezer, Harls,” called out Boomerang. “Surrounded by dead hogs hangin’ on hooks. Only they don’t know it yet.”

“Leave them alone, Boomer.”

Weasel - the one sitting to your right, to the left was Blackguard - began to retch.

“Uh, Flag,” you stammered, “Is this a dog?”

“What?”

“Is this thing a dog?”

“A… A dog?” asked Boomerang.

“Yes.”

“What kind of dog do you think it is, baby?”

“I don’t know!” you snapped, choosing to ignore the fact that he’d called you ‘baby’ - it seemed to have upset Rick, so maybe Boomerang was good for something. “I’m not familiar with all the breeds.”

“Oh, my God, is it a werewolf?” Harley squealed."I’ve wanted to meet a werewolf forever.”

You glared at her.

“Not helping, Harls.”

“Hey, hey!” Rick shouted. “He’s not a werewolf, okay! He’s a weasel. He’s harmless.”

You arched an eyebrow at him, skeptically, and Rick sighed.

“I mean, he’s not harmless, he’s killed 27 children - but, you know, we got him to… I think he’s agreed to do this. Whatever the case, just... everyone get into position to drop.”

...

Back at the base...

“Prepare for liftoff,” said Briscoe, one of Waller’s minions. “And... away we go.”

The rest of the group placed bets.

“Punch and T.D.K... have they worked together before?”

“Not yet. I’m excited.”

“What does Punchline do, again?”

“It’s Y/N L/N. She’s an expert in weapons and balletic combat - she’s a former ballerina. She does pretty much everything Harley does, but... a little bit saner.”

“Yeah, well, I’m putting 20 on her that she’s gonna bite it.”

“Me too. And Weasel, Boomer and Mongal.”

“The real question is, will she and Flag finally hook up?”

“No way. They’re not into each other-”

“C’mon! He was totally staring back on the airfield-”

"Well, I think…”

Waller stormed in.

“What are you doing?”

“Just making sure everything was ready to go.”

“Good meeting, everybody. Just our normal, casual morning meeting.”

Waller’s phone rang, Flag’s voice on the other end of the line.

"Yeah, we’re T-minus five from the drop.”

“Get the whole team safely to that beach, Colonel,” said Waller. “You will receive further orders once there.”

*They’re all p hyped to go

*John puts up a bit of a fight to be an obnoxious lil shit but that’s just bc he’s gotta stick to his brand

*John jokes about wearing the Joker mask as his Masquerade mask and Blyke hits the back of his head

*Since it was Arlo’s idea that they go to the Masquerade Ball, he gives them each a price limit to spend on their outfits that he’ll pay

*John goes out of his way to try and spend the limit but he doesn’t succeed

*Blyke gets kind of nervous since he hasn’t been to a formal party before and he worries about what to wear

*So he ends up embarrassedly asking Arlo for help and for Arlo’s opinion on his outfit

*Privately, of course, Blyke doesn’t wanna deal with John’s bs when he’s already embarrassed

*Remi and Sera are both picky about their dresses and Isen tries to *jokingly* rush them along saying whatever is fine

*They send him home so they can shop by themselves

*Remi falls in love with her dress immediately

*Like as soon as her and Sera walked into the store and Remi saw it, she knew it was the one

*After a bit of looking, Sera finds her dress buried and she really loves it

*Remi and Blyke look for their masks together since Sera, John and Arlo already got theirs

*And they hate Isen’s mask so much

*Which just fuels his need to get it

*At the actual ball, they’re SLIGHTLY less chaotic than usual

*Just bc everyone’s so excited to be there

*John gets so proud of himself for sneaking a glass of champagne

*And then Arlo tells him its non alcoholic and John actually didn’t do anything

*Isen tries to dance with Remi for funsies and he keeps stepping on her dress

*Not bc he doesn’t know where to put his feet, just bc it’s so poofy

*John asks Sera to dance but Sera knows he doesn’t have a single clue on how to dance so she tells him no and to get Arlo to teach him how to dance

*But then she dances with poor Blyke even though he steps on her toes the entire time bc she wanted to make him feel more comfortable

*John takes her advice literally and tries to drag Arlo to the dance floor

*Arlo doesn’t teach him how to dance

*Isen takes pity on him and tries to teach him how to dance

*It’s a disaster

Wake up and talk about SM wonderland costumes with me!! Ten looked sickening, Jungwoo & Taeyong nailed it and I genuinley giggled when I saw first saw their pics, although I think NingNing's costume is mediocre she looked gorgeous. We got spidermark but I still feel robbed,, although if thats the costume that makes him most comfortable rather than a more tailored Spidey suit then I totally get that :) I think lots of people will dress as Squid Game characters like Jeno and Jaemin but to me its lazy - like the Money Heist trend from 2020/2019. The scary costumes were all well executed also. Giselle looked nice but I just can't get excited about a Harley Quinn costume it's been and done. What are your thoughts? OH and YangYang loved great imo! And Haechan and Jaehyun are lazy for coming as vampires idk if they did it bc it fit the Favourite concept, but we got these outfits when the MV dropped a few days ago so kinda boring.

he might be there all alone but he has to defend shinee's title of kings of Halloween!! he did this for them 🎃🦇👻💫

yeri as expected went all out with her costume too, personally I think it's the best styled one of the night. her makeup is so pretty and well done too 😍😍

now to be honest the aespa girlies all served for their first SM party and I think ningning's costume wasn't so bad?? like it wasn't as well tailored as yeri but I don't think it's gives party city either. anyway AESPA HAD 3/4 OF THE BEST COSTUMES OF THE NIGHT FOR ME

(yes I love a good harley quinn moment and what about it. it might be cliche but I think giselle nailed it) no comment on winter tho she looks cute but it's not a halloween costume imo. she looks like a children's book character

the neos are a mixed bag as always but there's some good stuff in there! namely props to the rookies SUNGTARO for putting in the effort for their first SM party!

I love sungchan's joker and even though I hate that jigsaw guy you gotta give it to shotaro for committing 😌
