SPOOKEY SEASON BITCH!!

Okay so allow me to YAP because it's my favorite season, my favorite holiday and my favorite BOY all in one place my brain has been on a rampage.

OUTFITS FIRST:

The dog skull is a mask and becomes his face when adorned, because he's extra like that.

I've had this specific garment for Halloween Autumn squirrelled away and NOW IS THE TIME. She's wearing a corpse :)

The antlers were so last minute because I had her dressed planned and literally nothing else lol.

And i gave her greying hair! Because if winter is greying than so should Autumn damn it!

Now, the event itself. I have completely gone off the rails and there's a layout sketch ALSO at the bottom

I think it was mentioned that it takes place in the scar somewhere? Adjacent to it maybe? But i kinda like it being both in and out so that there's still fertile land to grow the corn maze and pumpkins and all that

And it also imagine that there are scare actors placed just about everywhere to roam around, and you will find some in the dead forest!

And I want everyone to consider the idea of a haunted house that EATS PEOPLE. The house is sentient and that's how you enter, by being EATEN and then at the end it spits you out into the back graveyard

(I don't know if someone actually lived in this house or if it's like the whole operation where its dismantled and reassembled super easy because ✨magic✨)

But, this man, THE Boogeyman, loves his job and even though he is incredibly busy and pulled in a lot of different directions he always tries to make time for Autumn's yearly event.

Much like Autumn, he's pretty chill most of the year until spooky season hits and then he has SO MUCH energy. EVIL ENERGY for EVIL

He gives it 200% every year, he's puppeting as many shadows as possible, he is switching forms nearly every fifteen minutes and he's LOVING IT, he's switching characters so often and getting jump scares EVERY TIME

Literally if you see any guy there, it could very well be him! Frankly, anyTHING there could be him. You'd never know but it could be!

(The giant two story tall spider that roams around at one point is also definitely him)

And he is sacrificing people to the haunted house, he does crowd work and everything before tossing them into the chimney or something.

I think Autumn has to reel him back in at some points in the night because there are children and babies here, Kills. Gotta tone it back just a little bit, just for a minute.

And even though it's not the end of his busy season he WILL crash right after the fact. Normally he staggers his energy out but this night needs all of it so he's passing the fuck out afterwards.

Slow cooking an idea where Jayce stays to try and help Viktor fight the Hexcore within him. He’s never sure if he’ll have Viktor or the Herald that day. Trying to keep secret plans from your god-like lover who can literally enter your mind is a full time horror show

Viktor and Jayce plotting against the Hexcore without it working out what they are doing. Hidden codes, snatched moments. Viktor manages to create a space just for him and starts to hoard energy against the Hexcore. It can use any face to trick him, and frequently tries to wear Jayce’s. They aren’t more powerful, so they just have to be smarter than their own creation. And together they can solve any equation.

I've been thinking recently about Gale, and how much of a romantic he is. He says he wishes he had time to do things properly, when he tells you he loves you. As though he has a specific idea in his head of what wooing and romancing were meant to look like.

Which lead me to wondering what kinds of things he might have imagined for himself when he was young, before Mystra fully got her claws in him.

Did Morena read him fairy tales - beautiful stories of romance and true love and happy endings? Did he find such stories himself, as he devoured book after book? Did he graduate to romance novels eventually, stories full of passion and adventure? Did he see elegant couples about town, and imagine one day being among them?

Did he daydream about heartfelt declarations? Of grand weddings? Of sweeping some future beloved off their feet and riding off into the sunset? Did he dream about building a life with someone? Did he imagine having kids? We know he's had mortal lovers before - were they mere dalliances, or something more? Did he dream of someday proposing to any of them? Of finding his own happy ending?

How many dreams did he give up, in devoting himself to Mystra? How many ideas about his future were sacrificed at her alter in return for her favor, and her promises which turned out to be empty?

How many dreams, once left forgotten in the dusty corners of his heart and mind, is he able to consider again, having found someone who loves and accepts him as an equal? Someone who he's actually able to pursue those fantasies with?

Something that is so important to me is Eddie and Nancy’s relationship. And I don’t know why.

But there’s something in the tension filled awkwardness they would have. This rivalry that is not actually a rivalry, but both having some level of respect for each other. And this is in any dynamic, whether Nancy and Steve got back together or Eddie and Steve are dating. There’s this like… bubble that separates the two of them. Especially if Eddie knows about the cheating, or the Halloween bathroom argument. This is not to demonize Nance at allll, she is a flawed character and I love her because of her flaws. And this is not to say Eddie isn’t flawed either, of course, he is no saint. But I think if Eddie knew about those things, not only would Eddie feel awkward and jealous, but also angry. “How could she do that to Steve?” “How could Steve go back to her” would be constantly swirling in his mind. And vice versa I think Nancy would have a bit of a shock to see Steve with a man or someone else long term. Like to her, she’s always known the ladies man Mr. Popular Steve Harrington. Straightest man on earth™. Also if they got together I have such a feeling that she would feel so guilty of past actions, “I don’t deserve him.” “I’ve hurt him so much in that past how could he ever forgive me?”

I think this jealousy on both sides would stem from them both seeing each other as “comiption,” but also neither feel like they truly deserve Steve, so they are happy he’s with someone “better” than them.

I don’t know this is just such an interesting dynamic to me and I feel like it is not nearly explored enough.

the thing abt the surgery is that yes I do get litle moments of being ecstatic it finally happened but also I just feel Normal now. like my base state for all my life up until last week was worry, horror, and panic when i'd occasionally remember the very unwanted thing my body was capable of, spiraling into what ifs on potential conflicts in my life and future... and now i just feel Not Stressed Out All the Time. Normal.
