Well it's come up multiple times today so I'll make a post about it.

I think the popularization of the word "twink" has ultimately been really bad for people in general.

I know it's hard to track the positive and negative effects of language but I don't think it's hard to see how creating a word for a group of people wherein the most consistent qualifying trait is "being skinny" is healthy for people's self image. Obviously people have lots of ideas about what it means to be a twink- gay, lacking body hair, feminine, beautiful, young, white- but the most consistent descriptor I've seen is "skinny." Hell, it's even a body type on Grindr; the size below "average."

So it kind of functions as a code word in the gay community: anyone can say that they're only interested in twinks and they don't have to look shallow by saying they only like skinny guys. It's such an accepted attitude that no one really bats an eye when they hear it.

I'm not even going to get into how it's become part of the larger issue of people turning "top" and "bottom" into gender roles 2.0, but that is closely related, because people with any internalized homophobia can look at a skinny, feminine man and turn off their fag alarms by viewing him as a woman or not a "real" man, and it makes twinks more acceptable to society at large.

No, ignoring all of that, one of the biggest issues is that gay men are taught by society that they are only attractive while they are skinny. Just having the label "twink" reminds a boy that people are looking at his body and judging it. There were countless times when I was growing up that people would tell me, "You're such a twink," or argue about whether or not I qualified as a twink because I had body hair. People around you, unpromted, judge your body and give you a label based on it, and that label has a large influence on whether or not you're seen as objectively attractive. I know many other gay people who say they wish they were a twink so they could be more attractive to guys.

So think, you have all these kids growing up being told whether or not they qualify as a twink, and then we have the gay community as a whole where it's completely acceptable to say you're only attracted to twinks. I think its because of all of this pressure to be a twink (in other words, to have a below average weight) that many of the gay people that I interact with struggle with a negative body image or eating disorders.

I mean, people talk about "twink death" like it's an actual event that makes a gay man much less attractive, and no one thinks that, maybe, it's harmful to tell a guy that the very day he stops being young and thin and pretty, he will stop being attractive and celebrated?

I'm not qualified to speak on fatphobia in physical queer spaces because I don't have the ability to frequent them where I live, but I can't imagine that these aren't issues at social gatherings as well. I also can't speak on my own experiences with weight discrimination because so far in my life I have had a naturally thin body, but I have experienced a lot of outside pressure to be thin that have caused me to pick up unhealthy eating habits to reduce my weight in fear that I could become fat later on. Thankfully that is something that I've mostly been able to work past. I'm not an expert, but idk, I just wanted to rant on my silly tumblr blog.

Obviously it's impossible for a word to be inherently bad. I'm not trying to imply that saying "twink" is a magic word with evil powers. Obviously the real issues at play here are fatphobia and harmful beauty standards and body shaming. But in my opinion, the popular use of the word twink has made it much easier and acceptable to express fatphobia, etc, in the gay community by turning "skinny person" into a "type of guy that you should try to be so you can be attractive."

A/N: hi! It’s officially my birthday(the 15th) and I am now 23 :((((( I didn’t know what to post because everything is in the works right now but I wanted to post something to celebrate in a way so here!! I think he’s about 23-26 I think he has a degree in IT but I’m not sure. He has to be able to have graduated or taken classes or something.

I think he’s 5’10 at the shortest and 6’2 maybe 6’2 1/2 at the tallest.

Idk just seems tall to me because he’s lowkey intimidating.

Him and Abigail are in the same age range. I think they were born in the same year.

This means he is about 22-25 and his birthday occurs right after summer break(maybe I should do birthday headcanons?)

I think he is a very tall boy(keep in mind that I am short af so what I mean by very tall depends)

So maybe he is 5’10 at the shortest like Seb and 6’3 at the tallest.

I think him and Seb can be interchangeable when it comes to height? Both of them however come behind Harvey and Elliott but not by a lot.

The shortest bachelor for sure

I think he is very short and stocky he gives me big strong dad energy like your dads not the tallest but man is strong af.

So maybe 5’5-5’8? I mean 5’8 isnt short at all really but keep in mind I’m saying this is the tallest he can be, and the height really does make some guys seem really short when in reality they arent( also my phone tried to add king every time I typed short so there’s that)

I feel like that’s enough time to go from playing football(sorry gridball) in high school, getting a scholarship to play in college, dropping out to take care of his goddaughter when his friends die and becoming depressed.

I think the oldest out of the bachelors and bachelorettes. He has gone to med school and that is I think at least like 4 years then 8 years? Unless I’m wrong lmao

I think he is between the ass trio and Maru so 21-24

I think he graduated high school only a couple years prior to year one because of how passionate he is about gridball and how he thinks it’ll happen I don’t think anyone older would be like “someday I’ll go pro” they’d be crushed already

I think he is 6’0 exactly. He gives off 6 feet vibes like I can see that if he had a tinder profile it would 100 percent say “I’m 6’0 btw”

I think he’s 34 exactly.

He seems like during his 20s he worked in the family business, he did what was told of him because he didn’t really know how to be an adult.

Then when he hit 30 he decided that he didn’t want anything to do with the family business and decided to move to Pelican Town to follow his dreams of writing.

He had enough money saved up to move and cut contact with his parents after they threatened to disown him because of him choosing to chase his dreams.

I think he is up there with Harvey as I’ve already said. I think they could be the same height range and who is taller is interchangeable.

So 6’0-6’5 really. Gives off hunk on the cover of a romance novel vibes.

Penny

I think she’s around 24-26. And I do think she has a teaching license and an education degree so this would give her enough time to have graduated and come back to Pelican Town after like a year of teaching in the city.

She seems sort of mature but immature at the same time, like immature when it comes to romance and dating, and sort of life but also she has the vibes of an introvert that was forced to mature quickly so she is good at making decisions, but at the same time her emotions are out of whack.

I think she’s a petite girl she doesn’t look very tall at all.

So I think she’s 5’2-5’5 I think for women to me 5’5 that’s the cap on people seeming short to me for women.

Abigail

Luckily I didn’t have to think about this too hard because I already answered this in one of my very first posts

I think she is 5’4 to 5’8 (sorry I’m American so 162 to 172 cm?)

She’s the first one I’m doing I’m not converting everyone but it’s like 2.5 cm per inch and 30.5 per foot

Her age is around 22-25 in year 1 I think. I know I’m my original Abigail headcanon I said oldest is 24 but I think 25 is okay.

She is amongst the youngest in her grade level during school years.

Haley

I think she’s on the younger side, like the same age range as Alex. Especially because she gives the vibes if she just graduated and hasn’t grown out of her mean girl/insecure personality

So she’s about 21-24

I think she’s similar to Abigail where she gives off like petite girl energy but also tall girl energy. Like I feel like she was a cheerleader and people always said that she could model so maybe she’s on the taller side

Idk what it is about women that are 5’7 are specifically beautiful to me, they seem super tall but not so tall that it makes me feel like they’re a giant, their arms and legs are long idkidk.

She’s the older sister of Haley, and I think she’s pretty close to Shane and Gus so I think she’s on the older side

I also think that she could be the oldest out of all the bachelorettes.

So maybe 29-35

She seems a lot more mature than Haley, as well as understanding and confident in her life and her choices

As well as she doesn’t seem insecure or as if she’s weird at all like I think younger people are.

In my opinion Maru is the youngest out of the bachelorettes AND bachelors because I think everyone is around the same age and she’s the younger sister of Sebastian who I think is closer to everyone else’s ages so it makes her younger.

Like yes she’s working as a nurse, but it’s a small town and she’s an actual genius, I don’t think they care that she’s young. Besides Harvey handles everything on his own she mostly does paperwork and assistant stuff.

Her height has to be around like 5’2-5’4 I think she is a very small girl despite Robin and Demetrius being a little on the taller side.

I think she might be the second oldest out of the bachelorettes

Like her backstory is her working in a dead end job, she was in a longtime relationship and could’ve gotten married had she not decided to leave

So she’s about 27-31 she’s not the same age as Emily, but she does hang out with Elliott so I think she’s a little older.

I think she’s about 5’6 she makes me feel as if she’s about average in heigh because of how artistic she is I feel like anyone smaller would be very disadvantaged when carving or doing anything and so would someone taller.

I think he would be about 5’9-5’11

Caroline I think is a very average woman. And not by looks because I think she actually would be quite attractive like I feel like she would be vERY beautiful.

I mean in terms of her body, she isn’t too big or too small, she didn’t have too much fat or too little her body is just average.

So I think she would be 5’4-5’6

I also think all of the moms are in a similar age range so she would be 44-47

Honestly with the way they’re designed I would’ve said 30s but that would make no sense if their kids are in the marrying age/having kids range.

I think she is on the shorter side, she gives me short thicc mom energy. Especially because Kent is a military man.

So maybe 5’2-5’5 bc I think Kent towers over her and so does Sam. The kids did not get her genes because I do think Vincent would be quite tall when he is an adult.

I also think she would be like 43-46 she has a kid that’s an adult and a kid that’s a child so I think this age range would be more plausible for her to have had one kid young and the other one at an older age.

Happy and healthy reader... and having an instant connection with Zandik!! Oh my gosh yes. Zandik would be the most confused and annoyed because he had never felt a connection with anyone his whole life, he's always been the one by himself. He tries to ignore it, ignore the building feeling in his chest, but as fate would have it, he finds himself bumping into you far more frequently than he'd like. You've had enough of his pretty man constantly invading your mind, so you approach him one day and it all begins from there. hugh could literally do anything like announce his theatre company (which I think is so cool and interesting) and people will immediately link it to sutton. I think these so called ‘fans’ have a hard on for hating on him for the randomest things. they’ve gone full on conspiracy theory mode. first they were celebrating him not posting anything for her birthday and now they think him announcing this is some sort of message to her? is this not some sort of mental illness at this point? the man is filming a movie in Ireland right now and working on projects he’s been talking about for years like this theatre thing but somehow it all gets tied back to his girlfriend? they haven’t even been seen together in ages. if you scroll through their accounts that’s all they talk about everyday. ‘he’s embarrassed of her. he won’t claim her. she’s ruining his career’. um the man is clearly booked and busy, as much as they want to project their own narratives of him being in some sort of downward spiral that’s just not true. idk how any ‘fan’ would want someone they claim to love to suffer. I’m still not sure why these weirdos aren’t called out. let’s normalize shaming such fans openly bc they ruin it for all the rest of us. speaking for myself idc about his relationship bc that’s not why I’m a fan of his. his personal life and relationships don’t concern me. why is this a hard concept for certain fans i just don’t get it.

Jesus Christ…I want to say I’m surprised but I’m not. In anyway. At this point they clearly aren’t fans of anything but just being obsessive and hateful. I think the theatre thing sounds amazing and something like that isn’t just thought up in a few days. That takes time and planning and discussion. Maybe Sutton is or will be involved at some point but if she is so what? It’s literally her job. It’s literally Hugh’s job and he’s doing it and doing it well. What part of ‘attending her show twice and being repeatedly photographed holding hands and kissing and then her attending his show’ isn’t them ‘claiming’ each other? Not to mention the pic of Hugh posted on Deux Moi (I know…) from South Carolina, the same day (or day before) Sutton had a show there? No fuss, no drama, just accompanying her on her trip. Not every single aspect of an adult relationship has to be played out online. Are they meant to be ‘Instagram official’ or something? Does anyone blame them that they are not? Sutton couldn’t even have comments left on for her birthday post because people can’t act like decent fucking human beings for five seconds. If he does ‘claim’ her - what is she, lost luggage or something - what then? Are they suddenly going to be absolutely fine with everything? All evidence so far would point to them losing their fucking minds even more.

I think people do need to be called out and I think it’s also important to remember that these idiots are actually such a small percentage of fans - they are just unfortunately very loud. They live in their little echo chamber where everyone agrees with them and eggs them on - when the vast majority of fans don’t give a damn what he does in his personal life and who he does it with. To still be THIS obsessed and THIS pressed about a relationship of which they are not a part is, as you say, some form of mental illness. It’s most definitely not healthy in anyway. I’ve literally just seen a page on IG that is basically a little fan page for Hugh and Sutton posting that they are getting death threats. Death. Threats. Not normal, not acceptable and it’s well past time that this sort of behaviour stopped.

speaking of hel, I always imagined an atreus and angrboda corruption arc involving her death, and since I'm obsessed with the mythology I'd love to see sms take both of them to a more "gray" characterization, just like their counterparts in the mythology.

I'd love to see them doing anything to bring their daughter back, and when they finally can, they're met with the fact that she can't live outside helheim, making the only place where she can have a sort of “normal childhood” and grow older is in the realm of the dead. (I haven't thought about how that would work, I'm just really into the concept of them having to accept that no matter what, their daughter is “gone”)

Definitely a possible scenario, if not entirely the one I would hope for myself but would enjoy and embrace if executed right. I admit to my bias regarding mythological references and the idea that mythological accuracy translates to cultural accuracy when it's not the case. As a person of Greek background, my main issue is viewing Greek mythology as a representation of Greek culture and values and rejecting any media that attempts a different approach. Including media that redefines mythology in order to show Greek characters or people of any culture as multi-dimensional persons rather than stereotypes.

In that vein, a common complaint from the non-Greek "progressives" is that Disney's Hercules "makes a mockery of Greek mythology" and therefore is supposedly not a "good representation" when it's actually one of the few positive and respectful cultural representations Disney has ever presented. It treated the characters as individuals with their own complex experiences rather than walking stereotypes: Hercules as a young man craving validation and ultimately realizing social approval is far less important in the grand scheme of things than finding contentment and adjustment in your personal life with an equal partner and loving parents even if they are not your biological family (and even if said biological family parted with you due to forces completely beyond their control). Phil as a disillusioned middle aged male who could have easily remained cynical, bitter and limited his attempts to change his life for the better to harassing random women. But instead chose to reevaluate his views and realize it was up to him, first and foremost, to "go the distance" and be an example for a younger generation of men and boys. And obviously Meg and the Muses who openly discussed the issue of chauvinism and oppression of women. And whose entire storyline smashed the modern "feminism" (which is actually not feminism at all but a repackaged patriarchy in a girlboss form) by highlighting that hating men and rejecting the idea of romantic relationship with them is not "progressive" nor does it make women safe. What is progressive is a woman celebrating her romantic agency and acting on it even if the man she is attracted to might potentially not meet her expectations or prove to be unscrupulous (and if that ends up being the case it would be his fault, not hers; hence why Meg's ex ended up betraying her after she made sacrifices for him whilst Hercules sacrificed just as much for her as she did for him - because people regardless of gender are individuals with agency rather than a function to make anyone's life better or worse).

In that vein, Gow series offering their own take on myths has never been a problem for me. I have a much bigger issue with fandom "progressives" involving Lysandra in their HCs in order to "progressify" her and imply that her being "just" a devoted wife to Kratos was never enough to absolve her of a "Greek doormat proto wife" stereotype. SMS is the main culprit of this perception though because they know their target audience now includes the young leftists who don't go beyond the surface (much like the right wing dudebros). They, thus, would only see Lysandra as a female character whose role was "limited" to being Kratos's "Doormat Dead Wife" (as opposed to the "quirky and feminist Nordic Dead Wife" that was Faye; which is the perception of Faye that dehumanizes her completely and makes me want to defend her even more). Therefore Lysandra needs to be "fixed" and/or be included in assorted "progressive HCs". Again, I hold SMS accountable for that perception to a much greater extent than the fans who just go along with what is shown to them.

Greek women can't win because we have to deal with misogynistic "men of the house" first and then we have to deal with media and progressives trying to "fix" us.

In that vein, what I hope for in the upcoming games is Kratos honestly telling Atreus about both his sister Calliope and about Lysandra. GowR already made a step towards that by having Kratos have a heart to heart with Freya about Calliope but him not mentioning Lysandra to anyone in his current life (and the current timeline) is still problematic.

Notably, that artwork SMS reblogged where Angrboda pays her respects to Lysandra and Calliope by creating an art piece dedicated too them and "including" them in the family feast would be a perfect way to rectify those issues, were such a scene to happen in canon.

Hel's "half-dead" myth reference can absolutely come into play because SMS is known for incorporating myth references but offering their own spin on them (that's the foundation of the Gow series). While I don't necessarily want a "dark arc" for either Atreus and Angrboda, it would definitely be a fulfilling storyline to have Atreus in particular to fight for his family and not repeat any of Kratos's mistakes. I mentioned before that Atreus and Angrboda should mirror the positive aspects of Kratos and Faye's story while avoiding the more problematic ones such as lies and keeping major secrets from one another, even for selfless reasons.

Therefore, Atreus and Angrboda, by being perfectly honest with one another and doing everything to save their daughter together, could break the cycle of problematic parenting that Kratos, Faye and Freya all exhibited at different points and to varying degrees. Their challenges will come from external forces and if they do choose to go a darker route, it would be the route for themselves only, but not for "Hel" (whatever her name would be).

hiii i'm sorry it took so long, i was enjoying the rest of my vacation then i got sick due to the different weathers in every city 😬, but anyways here we gooo

i know you asked for my favorite moments but i talk too much and rambled about everything kjsdnadsk

RIO I got to the venue at 7pm, after a lot of traffic and anxiety 🫠, and there was still a big line to get in making giant rooks go on stage 15 minutes later than expected. I had listened a bit to them when the opening acts were announced but i loooved seeing them live, their concert was so much fun, i had a lot on my mind that day but as soon as they started playing my worries were gone like, music is everything really.

The venue's capacity is for 18k people, but i guess there were about 12k there? I'm not sure but, the chairs around me were half empty (a lot of people moved to closer seats), the floor was full but the stands not so much yk. It makes sense when you think it was on a wednesday and a lot of people couldn't make it.

As I went alone to this one and there weren't many people around me it was like me and louis and just letting out all of my emotions. Idk if it happens to anyone else, but I get a lot more emotional when I'm alone at shows. I don't even have much to say here cause I was really there in the moment giving my all, screaming my lungs out to hoth and feeling all this time deep in my soul (the drama lmao).

SÃO PAULO I was really tired after barely a day of rest at home, then packing another bag to curitiba, it was hectic, but thank god i had stands tickets again and my friends got there ealier and saved a seat for me.

Not to paraphrase harry but, that show was loud, loud and LOUD. Seriously, I've never seen so many people scream and jump for an opening act?? I was actually kinda shocked at how full the stadium was, its full capacity is 60k but as they were using only half the space i guess there were about 25k-30k people, it was really packed. Like, that video from outside the stadium that you can hear the screams is kinda crazy if you think it wasn't at full capacity.

This concert left me so proud of him, of how far he has come, like he said with no radio support or anything, seeing him in my favorite venue in my city with so many people screaming for him was something really special. This one was really about US, the fans and louis, i can't say it enough but the crowd was like part of the show too. Also, the big stage, the catwalk, the fireworks, those things made it all so much bigger, like a celebration for where he is now. I'll never forget his face impressed by the crowd like every five seconds, he deserves it all, i love this man to death.

His only wrongs that day tho were wearing that ugly outfit and not singing saturdays on a saturday!!!!

CURITIBA I had slept for like 4 hours, took a flight in the morning and spent the whole day kinda sick and anxious, I really do not know were i took forces to this concert but i did and i gave 200% of myself. I had floor tickets this time so i let myself go and jump around like crazy.

We stayed in the left side of the stage were it was a lot more chill and we could walk around. Most of the time I stayed a bit close to the stage but not so much cause i like having my own space to breath, sometimes I'd get closer to record something. By the encore I found an empty space in the far left of the barricade to see him better during silver tongues.

For me it was the most fun concert, you could see louis was happy, there was a group in front of me dancing and having so much fun together, like he said no one will stand still in a brazilian crowd that's for sure! Also, there was this girl who was talking to us before the concert who found me during the encore and we literally just screamed wdbhg at each other lmao i don't even know her name, but i can't stop thinking about it, it was really funny.

Oh and that outfit!!!! The way i screamed when i saw him in all black, i kept looking at my friends like why the fuck does this man look so good!!! WE WON!!!!

When the barricade moment happened I was only looking at him so I didn't understand what was going on, then by the end my friends said he was with a kid, but only when i got to the apartment we were staying i saw the full context and video, that broke me. He so sweet and precious, it makes everything i did for him so much more worth it than it already was, this plus the donations for Rio Grande do Sul filled my heart with so much love for him.

Also, after the concert we were trying to buy merch, but most sizes were sold out, the line was huge and security was hushing people out of the stadium 🙃 then 10 minutes later we found out louis was playing football at the pitch lmao

Some other points - I absolutely LOVE the stage design, the lights and screens going up and down work so great, it's amazing to witness it live - THE BAND, i don't even need to say anything right? his band is fucking incredible, i live for every single guitar solo from michael - The 2 seconds that takes people to realize that he is singing night changes and wdbhg are the funniest shit istg kskdnkll - People will ask me why I would go to the same concert 3 times, and just istg it IS different, they are all different experiences and i'd do it all over again (which i actually did, cause i saw louis twice and harry 3 times in 2022)

I’m curious to know what your thoughts are on the minotaur. I hadn’t given it much thought until I watched Kaos recently, and I thought what they did with it was really interesting.

Sorry this took me long to answer - muh mentals are bad - and i have a lot of thoughts on the Minotaur as a whole so idk what specifically to talk abt but I’ll try to give a tldr of everything i think abt him and i can answer anything more specific in future ❤️

There’s an awful lot of interpretation and discussion to be had here, so I’ll try to be as brief as I can be. This post will probably be a huge mess, so apologies in advance.

There’s an obvious allegory in the Minotaur for disability, mental illness, and general alienation from society that I can discuss but I’d rather digress for brevity. The idea of a creature that was born purely out of pettiness and spite - to spite a man it would have no blood relation to - and then to condemn that creature to a life of guaranteed misery is a very interesting concept, I find.

I feel as if the Minotaur is too often passed off as just a monster. I’ve seen ppl pass off any deeper or kinder interpretation of him because he’s supposed to serve only as a monster - a device in a hero’s story, but I simply cannot bring myself to see him like that. He is not just a monster, and I don’t think anyone can say that looking deeper into him is trite, because when you look at his story as a whole, it is deeply tragic. I find a lot of relatability in the Minotaur when you think of him as an actual character, not just a device. You have to imagine what it’s like to be born an abomination, for no other reason than to spite your step-father. Then to have that step-father build and condemn you to a prison that’s technically (in a lot of interpretation) completely open, but you’ll never find the exit, and then he uses you as a means of getting revenge on the Athenians - because they killed his actual son, your step-brother. To be dealt such a cruel hand, intentionally, to be deemed monstrous, to be revered by a city of people that will likely never encounter you, to live and grow up in total isolation - the only people you’ll ever see are also the only food you have access too, and none of them will see you as anything but a monster. And then, to be killed, and to have your death celebrated, your killer mostly unquestioned, and celebrated for his conquest.

In this context, when the Minotaur’s life is laid out in this way, it’s a deeply sad story. One can argue that the Minotaur isn’t an innocent being, because he does kill and eat people, but I do have an argument to that. Multiple sources will state that bc the Minotaur is born of an unnatural (ungodly) union, he therefore cannot consume like natural beings, so is condemned to a diet of human flesh. Whilst he could initially nurse from his mother, it is said that as he grew, so did his hunger for human flesh, and this fact alone is what blurs his ‘innocence’. There is also some interpretations that claim otherwise, that the Minotaur could eat normally, but that when placed in the labyrinth, only had access to human flesh every so often - either way, I find my argument remains the same. The Minotaur could not possibly have eaten anything else other than human flesh - it was not an active decision by him, he was either birthed to it or had no choice. That fact brings his monstrousness into question - he can be considered a monster in appearance only, and again, I find that goes back to the interpretation of the Minotaur as being similar to how disabled people have been treated, especially within Ancient Greece. Also. Obligatory Tokyo Ghoul mention but this is why I relate him to that story in my head - not just bc my hyperfixations must absolutely crossover lmao. I think that’s a really interesting idea to bring to Tokyo Ghoul. Like, okay, I’m totally plot bunnying here but the idea of the Minotaur or some other Greek monsters being crucial to ghoul culture(s), or even hailed as Adam/Eve type beings is so…! It’s a tangent but I think abt it a lot lol.

There is also some trivia that I think, makes the Minotaur even more tragic. The fact that he could’ve been a child at the time of his death, that the oldest he could’ve been was his mid(ish) 20s - though he was most likely the same age as Theseus himself - so late teens.

It’s also noted that multiple sources agree that Pasiphae had some degree of love for her son - despite the fact that she was forced to commit zoophilia and as a result birthed a man-eating bull due solely to her dumbass husband. She not only gave him a name (Asterion/Asterius) but that she actively nursed him, as is evidenced by this vase painting.

There’s very little about Pasiphae’s relationship to the Minotaur outside of this trivia, but I still think the fact that she named him gives his story such a tragic air to it? I think it’s interesting that this woman who was basically forced to commit zoophilia could not hate the result of it - I’m not qualified to talk on this, but I see a talking point within that about victims of sexual assault who go on to birth a child? Like I say, not qualified, if someone else wants to chime in and correct me then go ahead. Either way, it pulls on my heartstrings to think that loved him enough to name and nurse him. She’s under-discussed, I find.

It’s worth noting also, that the overarching stories of Theseus, The Minotaur, Daedalus & Icarus, maybe even Minos & Zeus, and obviously throw the Cretan Bull himself in there too - the whole shabang involved basically - are ripe for analysis relating to the relationship between father’s and their sons. The story from start to finish has a themes relating to that. I haven’t looked into it all that much myself, but I know both parts of Half Man // Half Bull touch on this concept. It’s a double album / theatrical experience that goes through the stories of Theseus & Daedulus specifically - music isn’t to my tastes but I found it interesting regardless.

As a side note, I think it’s funny how in an age where feminist retellings of Greek myth have become cliche, no one has looked at the Minotaur (and Pasiphae) all that closely - I know people have looked at Ariadne, but idk anything abt that bc I don’t like these ‘retellings’, but I’m not all that interested in her or Theseus outside of the Minotaur, honestly. Depending on the interpretation she’s against my boy Asterion so I narrow my eyes at her lol.

This response is a total mess and I apologise - again bad mentals and there’s so much to talk about - I recommend reading the short story The House Of Asterion by Jorge Luis Borges if you’re interested in maybe delving more into the Minotaur as a character. It’s told from his point of view, undeniably tragic, and i love it very dearly, so I recommend it.

The book The Minotaur Takes A Cigarette Break by Stephen Shirell is also an interesting read - I picked it up from Waterstones one day randomly and it kinda started the Minotaur hyperfixation. It’s definitely not as acclaimed as thoa but I found it really quite touching in a way I can’t explain - I’m planning a re-read presently. There isn’t rly a plot to the book - it’s about the Minotaur in the modern day, he works as a line cook and lives in a trailer park. It made me cry and i still don’t know why, but bc of that i always feel I have to mention it. It has a sequel but I haven’t read it, so I can’t speak on that.

There is other Minotaur-related media, but those two stand out specifically. I haven’t seen Kaos but that looks interesting, I’ll have to add it to my watchlist.

my favourite dynamics in the story is lancelot x mc and then mc x luceris. I love how complex your relationship with Lancelot can be because on one hand he saved you but on the other he’s the shield of the king, I love no matter how you decide to play your relationship with him it’s never off for the mc to make that choice because all of the choices are so valid!! It’s so complicated and I love it… Lancelot is just a messed up lil guy tho <3

And then we have luceris and mc…insane relationship frankly <3 plus I play my mc being very…stoic and just doing her duty? she’s doing all the right things in public etc she’s a good consort. She’d loove to call luceris out in public but she won’t (partially learned from burning the room I think) the most she can do in public is call him her husband to annoy him lol. But that means as soon as she’s alone with luceris she can be herself?? like she doesn’t have to watch what she says in the same way she’s sarcastic and mean and tells him to drown himself etc. and just the implications of the fact that she can be almost herself the most around the man she hates the most..,,,,,,the very man she can’t let her guard down around is also at the same time the man she does let down her guard the most around because he knows what she wants…idk I’ve been thinking about it man. I didn't initially want to make a post about it, probably bc it didn't hurt me as much as I thought it would. But then I saw other people talking and I figured I had something to say as well. So here I am.

For all we know Liam was an abuser in many shapes of the word. He groomed his girlfriend, was violent with her, cheated on her with minors and maybe something else I am forgetting. This is all true. Does it me merit death? Maybe, depending on your point of view. And if that's what you believe, then act accordingly, I'm not here to force anyone to stop doing anything. Just maybe give you some perspective.

But Liam was also a friend, and a brother, and a son, and a father and an uncle and so many other things. He was hated but he was also loved. And, most of all, he was human.

It doesn't affect me as much as I thought it would, I thought I'd cry or be revolted or whatever, the day I learned a member from 1D died. I really did. But I am not. I am calm, I am at peace.

I think it's bc I know Liam had been in deep suffering for years now. Long years. And he was making people suffer too. And, it's not ideal, at least not to me, but at least it's over now, you know? There's peace in death bc it's how you rejoin the fabric of the universe. You rejoin the flow, become nothing, you begin to make perfect logical sense again.

Deep in my heart, there's a part of me that is still mourning, though. And I think that it's the wasted life, the wasted potential, the wasted everything... Liam was such a talented person, you know? He wasn't a great dancer, sksjdjsk, but he was a good singer. Whether people recognize that or not, it won't change the facts. Well, actually no, scratch that. It will. It will bc it did when he was alive too.

I don't know Liam personally but I think he was constantly searching after a spotlight no one ever gave him. Whether that was bc they thought he wasn't good looking enough, or not talented enough or not charismatic enough or just bc it was easier not to, I think it remains true.

The industry didn't treat him fairly, it exploited his name, his talent and his insecurities. And that doesn't justify his actions, of course not, but I think we should remember this:

Liam Payne was not born an abuser, no one ever is. And sure the actions he did are his own and were he alive he should respond for them accordingly but the fact still stands that ever since 1D was no longer, maybe even before that, Liam was going down a spiral that could lead nowhere good. And that's blood on the music industry's hands.

In the end, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm terribly sorry that one of the people that saved me from depression in my teenage years could not be saved himself. What I'm trying to say is that I wish he had had better opportunities, I wish people would've recognised his value and humanity, I wish things would've been so different, I wish he was still alive so he could try and be better and a better man.

Given a chance, let's put it that way: I wish Liam Payne was given a chance.

I know maybe this won't change anything and that maybe people will think the sort of grief we have as a collective, not over an abuser, though that was a part of him, but over one of the man that made our lives better will be weird, see it poorly... But I still wanted to say it, voice it. Bc I think we're allowed to mourn him even after everything that happened. Bc I don't think that someone having done a lot of bad to other people erases the good that person did to you. And I think it's valid to recognise one thing but still have feelings that don't match it. We're all human, after all, all complex...

So idk... I guess this is it? This is what I wanted to say.

You can be happy about his passing, you can celebrate, if you want to, I won't deny anyone their own feelings but don't deny everyone else theirs either.

And pls, for the love of whatever you hold dearest, don't go bring any negative energy or mockery to his loved ones. You might not get it but they lost someone important. Respect their grief, if no one else's.

Alright!! Eli!!!!!

-their nose is naturally hooked, but it's bumpy and lopsided because it has been broken!! he has been in a fair share of fights, never starting them, but they've gotten pretty good at ending them all things considered

-i have given them the title "The Apostate" :]

-they would go to church with Martha because it would make Grace too existential and scared but Martha didn't like going anywhere alone, sooo

-he tried to teach Martha to read but gave up; Martha got too frustrated (she learns eventually, thanks to Beatrice!)

-they know how to sew! fixes his own clothes and stuff

-Grace offered to try and heal his foot before but he politely declined; it's a part of him that he's accepted

-Grace's trial and execution was the front page story for a hot minute, so he had to shout about his best friend's death and sell biased & inaccurate stories about it so he could get paid :"]

-occasionally refers to Martha as "Marty" (Beatrice parallel BEATRICE PARALLEL)

-after Martha disappeared they started learning piano. He didnt get far though because he couldn't stand going in the church (to use the piano), especially without Martha

-when Martha returns, the only thing she could bring back of Grace was a jar with her heart in it (since her body got Dissected as fuck, chopped up to study n stuff) and anytime Eli is over at Martha's house (Martha kept it on her windowsill (where else is she gonna put it lol)) he like,, greets Grace's heart? I used to do this with an urn, it's a thing I swear. he would greet her heart,, he'd say hi to Grace, idk man.

-He and Martha still celebrate Grace's birthday; they set her heart jar on a table in front of a pastry or something. They don't take it very seriously (they need some lighthearted moments in their life god let them joke about their trauma please)

-after The Plot, Eli often goes with Martha on her (every-other-year-ish) visits to Aster and Beatrice. Beatrice and him get along very well (because of course they do) while Aster kind of scares him, but it's all good :]

-this one doesn't happen anywhere near the plot, only happens when hes like an adult n stuff but I think it's funny so...Eli COULD NOT keep a straight face at his Lavender wedding with Martha. Martha was more composed but Eli was NOT helping her keep it together Lol. After the fact he makes fun of Martha for being a terrible kisser (THIS IS SILLY GUYS PLEASE IM BEING SILLY)

I'm reaaallllyyy struggling with the whole Dawn rework (ask Sen and he'll tell you,, I'm struggling so bad) so I don't have much at the moment. BUT I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I DO HAVE!!

As of writing this, Lucy WILL be a lot more active in the plot!! He's looking to prove he's still a powerful demon, so he goes with Gene to hunt down Frappe (and Dawn by associatio). He does, in fact, suck at his job though, so if anything he probably slows them down,, but that's okay...

Uhhh random stuff GO!!

-his glasses were accidentally stepped on by Ronnette when she was trying to wake him up one time (he passed out on the floor) but Lucy would rather DIE than go to the optometrist again so he's dealing with a cracked frame right now

-Lucy hates Juno almost as much as he hates humans,, but like he's never gonna hate anyone as much as he hates humans so (sorry Dawn, he wants you to perish so bad)

-Lucy is so sure that he's a MASTER at blending in with humans. He is not. He and his garish purple vest, unkempt And uneven long ass hair, and a shirt that's either A. Probably Gene's and therefore too big for him, or B. His shirt that has an entire sleeve missing. He doesn't remember where he lost the sleeve but he hasn't gotten around to getting a new one yet BUT HE WILL SOON GUYS TRUST (it has been 5 decades at LEAST)

-as of writing this I think I'm gonna make it so demons can actually control/choose what their humanoid form looks like, and I think Ronnette would pick on Lucy a lot for making his humanoid form so scrawny.

A Mysterious Tip(Prologue)

Soft jazz music played through the orphanage walls. Most of the kids were asleep, tucked in their beds, while Rose and Clover were busy prepping for the funeral. They were trying to figure out how they would get the funds to do the public funeral. They didn't really have much funds to being with. As they were discussing the budget, the doorbell began to ring.

"Who could that be at this hour?" Rose said.

She went up to the door and was greeted by a mysterious man with a brief case.

"Uh... Can I help you?" Rose said.

"The Lady of the Woods sends her condolences..." They said as he held out a briefcase to Rose.

Rose looked at the brief case, then back at the man.

"Don't worry, it's nothing dangerous..." He said he handed her the briefcase.

"Wait, who-!" Before she could say another word, the person had disappeared into the night.

She closed the door behind her and went down to the maintenance tunnel where Clover and the rest of the gang were.

"Who was at the door, Rose?" Clover said.

"Some guy who delivered this briefcase. Idk. It seems pretty weird and shady if ya ask me." She said.

Rose placed the case on the table as they looked at it for a moment. Wondering if it was sent by someone from the Darling family or the Silver Fang Gang. Either way, the only way they would find out is to open it. Using caution, Clover unclasped the case and slowly opened it.

Inside of it was nothing but clover shaped black and gold Confetti.

"What the glittery goofs is this? A prank? A trick?" Nellie said as she stared at the case.

Clover took a closer look at the confetti and moved it around to revealing the bottom of the case.

"So, it's just a dumb briefcase that was filled with confetti?" Rose said, sounding annoyed and confused.

"No... look closer, Rose." She said as she pointed to a button hidden inside the case.

"This briefcase has more than meets the eye." She pressed the button, and the wood covering the second layer popped open. She lifted the wood to reveal a layer of stacks of cash and a black envelope.

The whole gang was shocked by the amount that was there.

"Holy Golden Nuggets! It's a money bag!" Nelie said as her eyes shined by the amount of money that was there.

Clover looked at the envelope. It had a red heart on it, but over it was a white x. She opened the envelope and read the letter.

"Dear Miss Clover,

How did you like my gift? My condolences to you, but I always saw death as more of a celebration of life than one that's about grief and sorrow. A real shame me and my family won't be able to hear or see any of your performances for a while. I'm a huge fan, you could even say I'm an admirer of both your performances on stage and backstage if you know what I'm saying.

I hope this will cover all the funds needed to execute a lovely funeral for a heart of gold like yours. Hopefully in your next life, I will be able to meet you in person and share a duet or two with you. Don't worry about your secret too. I cross my heart that I won't tell anyone about your plan. Just know... you have someone who's got their eyes, ears, and voice around this town. You know how the saying goes...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! Idk your relationship w your father so

If it's good: Spend some time with your pops if you can! Cook a good breakfast and spend some time outdoors.

If it's mediocre: Talk to your dad for a bit, get to know him! Learn about his history and such and try to play a game together.

If it's poor: Find other things to distract yourself! If you can, try to send a card or something and let him know you still think about him and want a relationship, and try to see how things play out.

If it's bad (like really bad): Appreciate someone else in your life who could support you like a father! Talk to them and thank them for their time with you and their support during your darkest times.

If you don't have a dad: It depends on the scenario

- Dead dad: Visit his grave and remember his memory. I'm so sorry for your loss and I'm sure everything will be okay. (Unless he was an asshole, so dance on his grave)

- Deadbeat dad: See very bad/poor. If you have a good stepfather, come to appreciate him for taking up the fatherly role in your life! If you have a shitty one, see poor/bad.

- Lesbian moms: As a lesbian, I am legally obligated to give this advice. 1st, if you call one dad, appreciate them. 2nd, if N/A, pick the butch/more masc/more manly one in the relationship and appreciate them. 3rd, if they're both fem and both are N/A, do eenie meenie miny moe to assign one to each holiday. 4th, if they're both butch/masc/manly, have them fight to the death for the title. 5th, if there's more than one mom, then play some game (Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Street Fighter, Multiple player Rock-Paper-Scissors, Board game, UNO, Card game, etc.) to deter the winner and the celebrant of that day.

If you don't have anyone to fill in as your dad: Hey man, let ME do the job. I can play (some) sports (mediocrely(badly)). I can do woodworking (well), fishing (I caught nothing). I can teach you how to grill, how to use powertools, clean a lawn, start a fire. Fix a car (Not). Drive a car (NOT). Tune a piano (but we can't tune a fish). And most importantly, above all else, I can give you a warm hug, a nice meal (or at least, recipe), and give you some care. :-)
