Raven!! Our resident justice warrior, programmer and sex expert! Can you please share tutorials on how a woman can please another woman, if you have them available??? I did research of my own years back when I realized my sapphic inclinations, but all I got was shady porn sites. Everyone thought you’d be claim by Ares (even though your dad was still very present and not a god) or at least by Athena. You were smart and a hell of a lot strong; both mentally and physically.

So it came to a surprise when Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, claimed you.

Though, Clarisse knew you were her daughter. You were every bit of passionate: about life, hobbies, interests, her. You paid attention to every little detail that flew out of her mouth (she noticed).

It didn’t help that you channeled your mother’s past title and abilities. After all, in Sparta, she was known as Aphrodite Aeria, “Aphrodite the Warlike”.

Clarisse was head over heels for you the minute she saw you fight (you even bested Luke, how was she not supposed to not fall in love with you?)

You and Clarisse started dating at the peak of the Summer Solstice and never looked back. No one knew Clarisse could be so…tolerating to someone outside of her cabin, especially to one of Aphrodite’s daughter.

Percy surely didn’t expect it either.

Clarisse was so callous and you were compassionate. He guessed that thing about opposites attract was true.

“Look, you want attention here, dummy?” Clarisse spoke condescendingly to the newest camper. She just couldn’t believe a scrawny kid took down the Minotaur. “You better be ready for it when it comes.”

Clarisse made Percy flinch and walked past Hermes’ kids. An amused smile plastered on her face. Luke shook his head as Ares’ kids passed which begged the question. “Why don’t they mess with you?” Percy asked.

“They know better.” Luke smirked.

“Luke’s the second strongest swordsman in camp.” Chris added with a proud grin.

“Who’s the first?”

“Y/N.”

Suddenly, you walked by in perfect timing. Percy’s eyes glued to you. You witnessed the whole situation and went to talk to your girlfriend. “Clarisse…” You muttered.

Percy watched Ares’ daughter soften at the mention of her name from your lips. Nothing in the facial expressions, it was all in the eyes.

“She doesn’t look menacing or intimidating—” Percy acknowledged.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Luke reminded as he glanced back at you and Clarisse. “Got my ass handed to me when I sparred with her.”

Percy looked at Luke. “Really? Can I train with her?”

It wasn’t odd to find Clarisse in Aphrodite’s cabin; nor was it odd to find the two of you cuddling on your bunk. Sunlight beaming onto the two of you and the only sounds were the campers outside. All of your siblings when do go enjoy camp activities while you read to Clarisse.

Ancient Greek flows from your mouth like the water from River Styx. Clarisse had one arm haphazardly thrown across your abdomen. Her head perched on your shoulder.

Silently, she admired the way your lips moved. The way you were invested into the story. The way she can see all the tiny details on your gorgeous face from this position.

Clarisse found herself falling for you more and more with each second of the day. She was aggressive and intimidating. She was Ares’ favorite daughter after all, but she found herself becoming more softhearted to you.

“You’re my…everything.” Clarisse whispered fondly. It might’ve been a slip of the tongue, but it made you blush.

She never failed to make you blush. Your rosy cheeks complimented with a sheepish grin. “Clarisse…” You mumbled and put down the book.

“I mean it.” Clarisse stated firmly and sat up on her elbow. Her heart locket fell from her orange Camp t-shirt. It matched yours, except you had a sword charm. Clarisse insisted on giving it to you (after threatening Beckendorf once or twice) for your two month anniversary.

“I know.” You reassured and pecked her lips quickly. Clarisse smiled and dived back in to press her lips into yours

A giggle erupted from you. A rush of dopamine intoxicating your brain. It always felt like the first kiss with her. “I love you, I love you, I love you—” You repeated into her lips.

“I get it, lovergirl.” Clarisse chuckled as she pulled away. Her cheek tinged with pink. “I love you too.”

She continued. “Will you keep reading? You sound so beautiful when you read—”

“Clarisse!” You exclaimed. Your blush even more prominent.

“What? I can’t tell my girlfriend she has a voice from the sirens that could bring the Big Three to tears?”

“Clarisse…”

“Keep reading, lovergirl.”

“This is safe, right?” Percy asked Grover.

“Yeah! Perfectly safe.” Grover reassured with a smile.

Luke had recruited you to help train Percy (Clarisse just so happened to tag along). There were swords in all of your hands. You were going to fight Clarisse and Luke and Percy doubted you were that good.

It was all to help Percy learn more about fighting with the sword and a great way to show off. The forest clearing gave enough room to really show your talents in combat.

“Don’t go easy on me!” You yelled at Clarisse and Luke on the other side of the clearing. Percy and Grover were sitting on rather large rocks anticipating the battle.

You took a deep breath and your eyes hardened. It was like switched had been flipped within you. You shifted your foot, sliding it in the dirt. The air felt different. Tense, sharp, lung-crushing.

Clarisse and Luke tightened their grip on their swords and gave each other a confirming nod. Percy and Grover watched as the three older half-bloods charged one another.

With precision and quick-wit, you were able to keep Clarisse and Luke on their toes. Luke shifted his weight in his feet before charging you again. You clashed swords. Celestial Bronze against Celestial Bronze.

Your ears perked up on shoes slapping against the dirt. You ducked causing Clarisse to swing at Luke. There was no trace of a your warm sweet smile Percy saw, only your hardened gaze.

It was kind of scary to see Aphrodite’s daughter switch up so fast.

Clarisse cursed under her and swiped her sword as if flicking off imaginary blood. She met your gaze, her heart skipped a beat. She rushed you again and swiped your legs. You jumped back with the grace of a swan, but Clarisse parried her sword immediately after.

You riposted Clarisse when Luke cane out from behind Clarisse to continue an onslaught of attacks. You scoffed quietly, but you could never complain. It was a good workout.

Yet, a particularly heavy swing from you knocked Luke’s sword from out of his hand. His sword flinging at Percy’s head. Percy shouted and ducked.

“Oh my gods!” You exclaimed and slapped your heads over your mouth in surprise.

Clarisse and Luke stopped their attacks and looked back at Percy and Grover. Luke’s celestial bronze sword was sticking out of a tree. Percy centimeters away from the blade.

You apologized for your reckless behavior. Percy was more scared of how fast you switched from your focused nature to a worried attitude.

“It’s okay…” Percy laughed nervously.

“He said he was fine!” Clarisse called out and walked towards you, pressing a small kiss to your cheek.

“Sorry, Percy.” Luke apologized.

“A lover and a fighter. Got it.” Percy noted in his mind as you complained to Clarisse about feeling bad about impaling Percy.

YOU GUYS ARE PEER PRESSURING ME WTF... but ok im just gonna post it here then hi tc thank u for the ask :) going under the read more because my initial ramblings were literally 3k but let me see if i can chop it down. cw: LONG. also pic for reference so we know what im talking about

so the placements all assume the only headcanon thats real going into this is that the morgans are siblings. no canon second parents which means no chrom!inigo or anything like that they all have single moms or whatever idk not important but just clarifying none of that is impacting their placements because i dont want to think about that

black eagle placements were the most fun because the fun thing about that route is that it splits into two more! one thing thats always bothered me is that when that route splits, the only thing that changes is that you either lose edelgard or hubert or you lose flayn. are you really telling me those are the only three students with enough free will to not let byleth pick the rest of their life for them? ferdinand would NOT go to the church i dont care!!! this is something they fixed (kind of) in warriors but in general when picking the black eagles i wanted to keep that in mind too

so kjelle was the first character i looked at and went “i know where you go.” i think she looks at edelgard and goes “you are everything i want to be and more” because what edelgard fights for and how she accomplishes it. kjelle is a very “the strong must protect the weak by any means necessary” which is kind of harsh when its presented to the player in awakening but it is literally edelgard’s whole philosophy. and kjelle is very egotistical (not hate i love her ass so much underrated fav!!) she thinks incredibly highly of herself so for her to bow down to anyone they would have to 1) echo her ideals and 2) be stronger than her. sorry shes never bending the knee to dimitri and claude i dont give a fuck she doesnt like those men. i think she’d understand edelgard’s idea of putting power in human hands and fully commit to the ends justify the means. this isnt really a gameplay rewrite thing im trying to do but if byleth picked the church she would leave. also… please. please please consider edelkjelle… okay guys… for me……..

on the opposite side nah was my second immediate “ohh i know what im doing with you” and its because if byleth picks edelgard, shes out!! granted, i could just put her with lions or deer but how is that fun. its not. nah, being a manakete, would probably be much more understanding of rhea and willing to reach out. being a manakete is probably a pretty isolating experience for her, ylisse or fodlan or otherwise, so i think her finding solace with rhea and flayn and seteth during her time at the academy would allow her to get closer to people more like her, and understand on some level why rhea is the way she is and why governs the way she does. though, still being housemates, she’d befriend edelgard and i think she’d admire edelgard’s conviction and maturity during the academy arc. but when edelgard betrays the church i think she’d take that very hard, and i dont think anything edelgard would say to her would get her to turn on what is basically the family she never got to have (theres also second gen angst potential in here somewhere…)

inigo was interesting to think about and i did almost saddle him in with golden deer but i like the potential of him with edelgard a lot more when i really sat down and thought about it. im pulling more from his characterization as laslow i think but at first i wasn’t really sure if i had a case for him picking between the empire and the church but i decided to go with the empire because i do think in the time he has with edelgard, he’d be a voice of reason for her (to hubert’s dismay). edelgard’s problem is that she has literally no outsider pov and is going based on her own sense of justice that, while its based in good intentions, has a lot of unintended consequences and failure to acknowledge how it impacts everyone else. i think inigo could take a unique role, similar to ferdinand (or lorenz to claude, felix to dimitri) in that he challenges edelgard but on a much more friendlier level. the thing about how that role normally plays out is that its formed on some personal grievance rather than genuine better interest of the people, and i think of all the lords, edelgard needs a friend the most (its why shes so attached to byleth???). and just looking at how hes able to handle xander in fates and how much more introspective he becomes, i think it’d play out similarly here. also i think with the forces of him and dorothea combined they would give ferdinand the worst bisexual panic of his life. ik i mentioned felix/inigo WHICH I STILL LIKE but imagine the layer of angst if they are on opposing sides… ok thanks

was on the fence about gerome until beloved mutual (hi woocy :3) convinced me he would be beagle and im completely down with that. for me, i struck out blue lions immediately. so after that its just a matter of do i think he fits in better with BE or GD and quite honestly. for some reason golden deer gets the rep of being the meme house but aside from lorenz looking a little funny anf claude putting up a facade YOU ALL FELL FOR this straight up is not true. the funny house is black eagles and by GOD it would piss gerome off to be there. i dont think they chose their houses, by the way. i think they got to fodlan and rhea vibe checked all of them immediately so he didnt have a say in this. not only is he stuck with inigo, hes stuck with watching kjelle—the strongest warrior ever probably the only one in the second to match him in terms of raw strength—stumble over herself over their house leader because wwaauuw women pretty LIKE COME ONNNN. though, i do think he’d respect edelgard for her strength, and theres a lot of interesting dynamics for him to explore. dorothea pissing him off, bonding with petra over their enjoyment for wildlife, he would definitely be training partners with caspar, and i think he’d actually be like. really good at talking to bernadetta? maybe seeing her reminds him of how he was when he was younger. maybe he gets her out by introducing her to minerva. much to think about. but in general he would keep mostly to himself with standard gerome “cant get close to people that i cant guarantee will stay with me” fashion i think he probably wouldnt be as close as say someone like inigo or nah would be with the house. so when the time to choose a side comes… i dont think he’d have the relationship with edelgard to pick her. i think he would oppose her ideals, and go with nah, if not flee fodlan entirely because omfg who careeesss…. WHO CAREEESS his ass is in wyvern valley (no i think he’d fight. but he’d def consider dipping)

m!morgan is here because i think it would challenge him. guy who is so cute so earnest so ready to be happy in school learning everything hes ever wanted hoping to come home and make momma proud and oh my god he got put in the most crazy house imaginable. whoever his professor is is probably like wow morgan you have a gift for tactics! why dont you try managing the class for a mission? and being morgan he’d go YES ABSOLUTELY!!! unfortunately this house has hubert. and ferdinand. and bernadetta. and linhardt. and caspar. the thing about robin and the shepherds is that most people immediately respected robin as their tactician and robin was able to connect and befriend most of them fairly easily because they were mostly all sane and normal people. the black eagles are most definitely not and have you guys seen that black eagles seating chart post? well. i just think it’d give morgan a hard time and between him and f!morgan its funnier if its him. also splitting him from the justice cabal for timeskip angst sorry. also i think it’d be cool if he took edelgards side. i dont actually know which way he’d lean thats a tossup like this is a character that i could believe would trust byleth’s judgement and go with them but if its edelgard i think that could set up fun conflict between him and nah. grima vs naga part 2!! though i actually did have him for blue lions first if only because of the three houses the blue lions probably need a tactician type the best but. i like this one better.

so for blue lions i immediately clocked owain like look at this guy. i think owain would see the house of cool knightly chivalrous types fighting for justice and being cool and having swords and i just think he’d be in heaven. i also think, to him, dimitri would be a figure to look up to similar to lucina, but with the difference that they are not family and owain might put him on an even higher pedestal because theres this sense of familiarity he had with lucina thats not really there anymore? kind of similar to ashe and dimitri. and when the timeskip comes, i think he’d be endlessly devoted to dimitri even still, never forgetting who he was before and striving to bring him back, still thinking of this idolized version of him, even if it puts himself at risk. i also think in general, owain would thrive in the blue lions house. felix, ashe, ingrid, dedue, annette— those are all prime support partners for him that have a lot of potential. the blue lion house is very… the way that they are. and something owain shows in fates is that though hes very good at using his theatrics to ease people, whether that be on purpose or otherwise, and by god do the blue lions need it. look at them… jesus.

cynthia is in the blue lion house for similar reasons but i think she has a key difference from owain. while i think owain is the type to go down with the ship, i think cynthia might actually serve as an opposition to dimitri and potentially go against him in a similar fashion to felix and annette in thats hidden in the games files and was never put in the game (WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. dimitri doesnt get enough push back in azure moon!! another post for another time though). in their time at the academy, while owain is fangirling over dimitri, i think cynthia would too at first. but fodlan is very different than ylisse, and in particular faerghus treats its knights and specifically women knights very differently than cynthia wouldve otherwise been treated. i think this would push cynthia into questioning faerghus’s ideals (especially in getting close to ingrid who im sure she’d find friendship in) and eventually dimitri in how he seemingly upholds those ideals. when he goes down a darker path in the timeskip, she’d probably take felix’s more critical approach, and i think she could turn on him. for the empire? probably not. but i dont think she’d be as down as owain or ingrid to keep following him when hes not taking accountability for what hes doing. she might find her way back once hes come back to himself but who really knows. not me (<- girl who is writing all of this)

yarnes a funny pick because lions are supposed to be brave and fearless and hes a Rabbit. but obviously yarne would be very aware of that irony and i think it could serve as a push for him to come into that bravery, and thats something i think the lion house could help him do. i think he’d look to dimitri for solace similar to how he does with lucina, and dimitri would be very happy to provide that for him. when the timeskip comes and dimitri is lost, i think yarne would have to find it in himself to abandon that anxiety for a bit to come help ease dimitri, sort of repaying him for his initial kindness (read: i want eyepatch scary dimitri to find stress relief in petting a big ass bunny). also i dont need yarne to be in the same house as petra and marianne for him to interact with them. dont worry thats a thing. also if youre a real one you recruit marianne to blue lions everytime. no i dont know how they’d handle bringing a taguel to fodlan i dont really care either

for severa i think, even if she would rather not admit it, justice and loyalty are very key parts of her character. its buried underneath her mean girl attitude and like five pounds of trauma but its there. and what are the blue lions if not loyal knights with very LOUD auras of sadness? she would be similar to felix in terms of their views on knighthood, and obviously her whole thing with cordelia would put her at odds with the whole dying for your king/for glory thing faerghus has going on. similar to cynthia she’d be very critical of faerghus and dimitri except she’d be that way to his face. she doesnt have the same personal beef with him the same way felix would, and might be a little more like how i imagined inigo would be to edelgard, criticism with the better interest of the greater good rather than formed of personal beef. in the end though, i think she would stick with dimitri. also i think she’d have insane sexual tension with ingrid like i dont think theyd like eachother but like. my vision… do you see it.

bradys in lions partially due to mutual influence (hi zorua) but also because i ended up liking his potential with the lions as opposed to the deer or eagles. he’d have a very cute friendship with mercedes and annette i think, playing violin for them and having tea party gossip sessions. i think he and dedue could bond over being kinda scary but doing what they can to ease people’s fear of them. since thats an insecurity for both of them that brady purposefully takes steps to get rid of (ex: him hunching over is so that he can be eye level with children and people shorter with them so as not to come off as intimidating or more powerful) i think brady could help with that. though if im being so real i dont think he would like dimitri. i think he would stay and stick around and help dimitri get better. but i dont think he’d approve of his bloodlust and be very open with his issues in regards to how dimitri handles and carries himself. sorry guys im not meaning to have dimitri catch so many strays here 😭 i love the guy i just also like when theres conflict here i promise

laurent is in the golden deer because i think he and claude would be very like minded people in terms of trying to discover the secrets behind fodlan and what that means and how to better navigate fodlan as uncharted territory. theyre both foreigners, as are all of the second gen kids, but thats something claude keeps under wraps that i think laurent would be able to tell very quickly (not that it was hard. claude doesnt hide it well its just that everyone in fodlan is either stupid or all the smart people are kept away from him) that claude is from almyra. i think this knowledge could help him serve as something of a confidant to claude. obviously he wouldnt tell laurent everything but when claudes supposed closest allies are lorenz (guy who hates him and prays for his downfall) and hilda (girl who is racist and from a racist family) its just like. well maybe claude should have another friend who is normal adjacent at least, and laurents not the type to go blabbing anyways. obviously both lorenz and hilda (eh. well.) get better about their mindsets post timeskip but i think in the time of the academy laurent would be a very valuable friend for claude and vice versa. in general laurent would do well anywhere because i think most of his interest would be with the technological and scientific advancements of fodlan which is flexible, but i think, with rhea purposefully halting progress and claude being the main guy who wants truth above all else, this is the best spot for him. could hear an argument for him going to edelgard (potential recruit out of house recruit fs) but i do like him with claude a bit more. gerolau angst also.

lucina is in golden deer because i dont want her in the other two houses but also because i do think, similar to laurent, she’d be very valuable to claude and vice versa. awakening world building is horseshit but from what little we do know there is quite a bit of political discourse that lucina probably knows quite a bit about. even if her timeline was thrown into war when she was young, she probably had some form of royal training and can help claude navigate fodlan a little bit. i also think coming to fodlan would just be a very refreshing experience for lucina as the burden of everything is no longer directly on her shoulders, and i think she’d be looking for a broader perspective on life and finding another purpose for herself now that grima is dealt with. i think claude would be able to help her with that and i think she’d be genuinely interested to learn of his homeland once she figures out where hes from (i do think laurent beats her to the conclusion but not by a lot. remember this is lucina aka marth aka woman her disguised her own royal status and was very successful at it. just saying). also while i did say that golden deer is in fact not the meme house, i think they are more light hearted overall in terms of character (does NOT mean meme house or funny house. look me right in my eyes and say the house WITHOUT hubert and linhardt is the meme house. fucking liar) and i think lucina would love that. i want her to get the chance to be silly and childish for a little bit. characters like raphael and marianne and lysithea might help her heal that inner child that she never really got to let out and i just think the golden deer house would be the best place for her

morgan is here because i didnt want her and marc in the same house thats too easy. but while i think claude is the least in need of a tactician type character, him and morgan would be sooooo funny so cute and i need someone who can keep him on his toes. i think he blurts out a plan and morgan goes “ermmm ackchully” and half of the time her rebuttals are complete nonsense she just wants to argue. i think they both enjoy it. i also think, similar to lucina, a light hearted house would be a little better for her. shes much more prone to mischief than m!morgan is i think and i think the deer would benefit from that if only so she can target lorenz and make me laugh. i also think separating the twins would make for fantastic angst down in the timeskip but for now shes just hanging out having fun being a piece of shit. #girl also i think its funnier if one morgan is absolutely thriving and the other is barely keeping his shit together and by god it is way funnier if its f!morgan getting away with everything

I generally despise "Evil from Birth" narratives. Or the "we were right to torture you" kind of punitive justice. So that would be most of the Thor comics.The thing is, I don't think I hate comics!Loki, I like comics!Loki out of spite. Because the writers didn't want me to like him, but the narrative gave me bad vibes.

I'm torn on Lady Loki because I find Loki interesting during that run (I love the interactions with Dr. Doom) and therefore don't hate them, but I FUCKING HATE that they wrote Loki stealing Sif's body. I hate how it's "justified" by dudebros and pseudo-feminists with "it's an allegory for rape" as if there hadn't been any rape in Thor comics before. The whole body thief thing is actually a transphobic dogwhistle in the same way that Silence of the Lamb's Buffalo Bill was: "A man wearing a woman's body/skin to seduce and manipulate other men." Can we get that retconned into Loki just shapeshifting rather than stealing Sif's body?

I hate when Loki's written as "the creepy nerd lusting over the popular hot girl" (comics!Sif) or abusive/rapey husband (comics!Sigyn). Which is a bunch of comic runs. Like so:

I think the writing on "Son of Asgard" is terrible/cheesy(they have a chapter called "The Warriors Teen" *eyeroll*) and it's full of rapey plots. Loki is rapey (with Sif and colludes with Amora). Amora is rapey (with Thor). Karnilla is rapey (with Loki). Even Sif is rapey! (with Thor).

The plot is stupid. They go on some mindless quests as glorified poachers because Odin told them to do so, and relish in torturing and killing a poor dragon that was just minding its own business, among other things. Sif and Balder whine about Thor not giving them a say on agreeing to the quest despite following him over there. Fucking jackasses. Meanwhile Loki is doing stupid magic bullshit to impede on their quest from afar, justifying Sif's suspicions and hatred of Loki that would otherwise seem unjustified and ridiculous. IDK I hate when they justify over-the-top suspicion of "Loki told the dragon where we were" rather than "We were actively seeking the dragon for its scales because we're poachers." It's also used to justify over-the-top punishments for Loki with evil monologues and thought bubbles or lazily written magic bullshit. It also makes Asgard seem incredibly incompetent and stupid.

My thoughts exactly, Thor:

I also dislike how Sif is written. She's "masculine" but in the ways cishet men would find "hot". A scantily clad warrior with the supermodel physique constantly contorting in weird ways. Her personality revolves around her obsession with Thor and her suspicion/hatred of Loki. It's a crime to write a warrior woman so heterosexually. They made her go off about how she wishes to be gifted with a JEWEL from the shitty sand place. So, they all get swallowed by the sand (and Loki too because he was a dumbass and materialized in the location). They escape by not feeling anything because there's weird baby crystal things that seek emotions. Loki is captured by Karnilla restrained by a bunch of creepy hands in creepy places, and Karnilla kisses a teenage Loki. Loki absorbs her magic through the kiss and escapes.

Loki refuses to help Karnilla out of love for Odin. I'll admit this is kinda cute and can't believe they actually gave him a redeemable trait:

Thor just won't give up on those damned quests. It's ridiculous! Priorities!

Ridiculously, Karnilla antagonizes Thor by turning a whole lake into sand. An adult woman beefing with a bunch of teen poachers. He takes some sand from the lake and goes back to Asgard to find it under attack. Thor and co save the day, only for Thor to be shot with an arrow by Karnilla. Karnilla and Odin fight. Odin takes pity on her and spares her. Thor is saved by "the power of love" aka Sif's tears.

Karnilla takes Loki hostage:

Balder tries to sacrifice himself for Loki. Karnilla is conveniently weirded out by such a selfless act and vanishes. Odin makes a sword out of the shit they got from the quests, and hands it over to Balder for his brave sacrifice.

Frigga damn... "only son"...

Volstagg is sexist to Sif and Sif is fatphobic to Volstagg... damn these comics have a fatphobia problem among other things...

Sif beats his ass. Then challenges Thor who pulls her by the hair and wins (for a warrior, Sif is dressed in very inconvenient ways). Everyone is like "yes Thor, you beat the ONE GIRL" and Sif gets angry and broods.

We cut to Loki's schemes and hate of Sif:

My thoughts exactly, Amora. The cishet writers fumbled on writing these two (Sif and Loki). They should have been GNC queer besties.

When people tell me Loki was not queer-coded before the whole bodytheft subplot:

Amora and Loki plot against Sif because Amora wants Thor for herself and Loki wants Thor out of the way. Thor attempts to console Sif. They're about to kiss when Amora interrupts them, calls Sif a slut, and Sif bitchslaps her.

Thor breaks up the fight and tells Sif there was no need to bitchslap Amora. Sif gets angry and leaves. The next day, there's a new female student in the warrior training class, Brunhilde. Sif remarks that "She had to be blonde." Lol.

They show Sif's backstory as a former blonde. Loki cut her hair out of jealousy that she was in love with Thor. He regretted it and got her replacement hair. However, the hair turned from blonde to black and "marred" her beauty.. Thanks, I hate it and it makes me uncomfortable... Sif is insecure of her black hair and jealous of the other blonde girls at schools.

Brunhilde wonders if Thor has his own special weapon because Balder got one in the previous issue. Thor says not yet, but one day he will when he's worthy. Sif takes offense because she's jealous of Brunhilde and bitchslaps her like she did Amora. A very male-gazey fight ensues, and Sif gets yanked by the hair once again. Sif just cut your damn hair. Sif gets in trouble for starting shit and gets told to use the facilities at the sorcery school to keep them from fighting again. Amora shows up and plays with Sif's insecurities, but seriously, she has a point in Sif resorting to violence way too often and easily. And I am being made uncomfortable by "dark hair and deeper tan on a woman=masculine" in this comic.

Sif and Loki conspire to magically roofie Thor with a magic mirror.

Sif gets the mirror.

Amora petrifies Sif (so that she watches), and steals the magic mirror from her, using it to make Thor fall in love with her. Loki very creepily frees Sif from her spell and confesses she wanted to see Sif's heart broken because he hates how Sif can "See through him." I thought he was going to do much worse because it looks bad, the way he holds Sif, when I first read this.

Sif goes straight to attacking Amora in a male gazey fight again, and Thor breaks up the fight and shames her for starting shit so often. Brunhilde finds the bag that held the mirror, and asks Sif about it. Sif confesses she wanted to use the mirror on Thor because she was jealous of Brumhilde.

Loki and Amora can't return the mirror without the pouch. Loki is about to be like "Lol nothing ties me to this crime." But Brunhilde and Sif catch them and tell them they have the bag. They say they'll give them the bag if they revert the spell. Brunhilde breaks the mirror, Thor is no longer under the spell and is hurt because he expected that from Amora but not from Sif. Frigga tells Sif that the mirror doesn't count and Thor still has his kiss virginity intact. Sif apologizes to Thor and they kiss.

Then Thor's trying to lift Mjolnir, and lifts it a little off the ground. Thor goes see the Norns to see what stands between his faith. I don't get it. Comes back to Asgard under attack and Sif being kidnapped by Storm Giants. Thor lifts the hammer with the power of love and goes to rescue Sif.

The cover for the next issue makes Thor look like an anime boy:

Thor collapses a bridge some giants were on, and they fall. He yeets himself with the hammer into the castle.

Thor kills a bunch of giants, and the comic makes a callback to Sif's introduction where Thor saves her from Hela. Here, the giant struck a bargain with Hela to gain immortality, exchanging Sif for it.

He finds Hela, who is pissed Thor's escaped from her grasp before.

This reminds me of Thor Ragnarok:

Hela may not be Odin's daughter here, but this has Thor Ragnarok vibes:

This echoes Sif's first appearance where Thor offers his own life in exchange for hers.

Hela warns Thor that they'll meet again. Sif and Thor kiss and fly away.

Zuko tearing up the room looking for his fucking diary while Iroh just fails to calm him down is peak 16 year old and his dad core and I’m living for it. I, too, want to smash stuff when my beloved things go missing.

Zuko’s right, Aang is a coward which is good because he’s nuanced! Now the show should acknowledge that.

We’re going to Kyoshi island yay!

Another good Katara monologue. They seem to have grasped the hopeful aspect of her character well (and it’s clearly in Kiawentiio’s acting wheelhouse). Now let her break stuff!

Wait if Aang can fly why did he fall out of the sky in the last episode?

The Gyatso memorial was a really nice touch. I think Gordon’s acting was slightly flat (emphasis on slightly) but the way his voice broke on the last line broke me. Since it’s the first time I’ve had anything bad to say about his acting, I’ll give it a pass.

I will say idk if it’s sets of CGI but the whole setting is gorgeous. I’m glad their budget let them add in those details that we didn’t get in the cartoon.

Yay Iroh comedy! Give him more!

They nailed Zuko and Iroh’s dynamic. No complaints. Also since the main trio is less funny (which is fine) the comic relief is much needed.

Kyoshi Warrior makeup looks awesome!

Ooh Suki’s mom is here! And Suki getting some more background/development, always love! Not sure if I would have called “kindness” one of her core traits but it’s not like she wasn’t kind. She didn’t have much characterization to begin with besides “cool strong girl!” so I like that she gets a softer side.

Sokka’s fangirling over Suki this is cute and also hilarious. And Suki is EVISCERATING him with her skills.

Iroh is comedy gold (makes sense since I know this actor has a background in comedy) This episode overall is lighter which I think is a nice break since last episode was pretty intense.

Zhao seems like less of an asshole right off the bat. Is he sneaky or just watered down? (Like Katara-no I won’t shut up about her).

Shirtless Sokka was not necessary I want everyone to stay far away from over sexuality the teenage characters I don’t care that some of them look over Netflix don’t Netflix this.

I like that we’re expressing Aang’s grief more overtly. Something the original couldn’t do.

I find Aang and Katara’s friendship really wholesome.

Katara talking about Aang knowing how to connect…BUT THAT WAS KATARA’S THING. Why are they taking her good traits and giving them to her male friends istg.

Suki is so cool I love her definitely no character crush here. Her literally being like “I like this boy. Obviously the logical choice is to show him my fighting skills” she’s so real for that.

“Only justice will bring peace” - please tell me Katara being the one to read that line is important because thematically it’s a very Katara line.

Aang’s backstory with people being scared of him and losing control is an interesting new touch that I think could be used really well. (Also seeing some Azula parallels especially with the “lucky” thing but I don’t think I’m that lucky).

I do miss Sokka’s Kyoshi Warrior uniform. The tension though! A little more of a mature tone than the original and idk how much I want to lean into sexual tension of any kind but the characters are 16 so I thiiink I’m okay with this but NETFLIX IF YOU OVERSEXUALIZE THEM ALL I WILL COME FOR YOU!!

Yeah, the entirety of dublith comes off way more differently in fmab than in the manga, and greed and Izumi are definitely the ones who suffered for that.

That scene you’re talking about is a good one! It really made no sense that the entire fight with ling and lan fan vs envy and gluttony was cut? Like, it’s kind of a big deal for them and their quest, but it’s also important for the homunculi because they’re encountering strong foreign warriors getting in the way of their plans to the point that they couldn’t back up lust which led to her dying? I think the thing about that fight I think the most about is when ling is running from gluttony and asking lan fan to toss him his sword. Something about that image is great to me. I do agree though with the whole visible sag of relief that the big bad homunculi are gone and the sort of “what the heck have I really gotten myself into” kinda mood from the usual chill vibe ling.

My favorite scene though is a bit earlier than that. They had a few more scenes in rush valley than just the fight, but the manga also had part of the train ride from rush valley to central and that’s where ling explains fu and lan fan are from a family that’s served his clan for generations. Edward tries to tease him in that whole “oh you’re too chicken to go traveling without your personal retainers” kind of way and there’s just something about ling responding that it’s dangerous for a kid to travel alone and that he’s fifteen that gets me every time. On a more serious note, another scene of ling’s I like from rush valley is after he has his whole “I can’t afford to be worried about appearances” chat with fu and lan fan, he actually has a few panels where he’s internally thinking that something definitely senses off about the country of amestris. Also feels like that was important and shouldn’t have been cut but. Studio bones.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THEY DID SO WRONG GREED IN BROTHERHOOD. I'm waiting to read the Dublith arc!! I bought that volume but it will arrive in one or two more weeks, and I need to see what they did to my love. It's a shame that original Greed just appeared in two episodes in fmab, so I hope the manga does him justice 😔

AND YESS!! I love how badass Lan Fan was in that fight while Ling was so confused and crying for help HAJAHDJAHAHA. It's sad how Bones treated the Xing gang so badly (because they also removed all May Chang's first apparition!!!)

I know which scene you are talking!!! Ling being aware he is just a child is so important to me because it makes this contrast with Edward, who always acts like he is a grown-up and can do all by himself. Idk, I love his dynamic, and how Ed is furious because Ling is younger and taller than him.

Bones needs to make another anime adaptation because I'm unsatisfied 😠

Things I liked:

Avatar itself is so good that even a bad adaptation is enjoyable, and i really enjoyed seeing the avatar world in live-action style, especially Omashu !!!

Ian Ousley was born to play Sokka idc what anybody else says, idc about the butchered character arc, or the personality changes or any of that, Ian Ousley is the live-action Sokka we deserve and he ate every scene (except one, which i WILL be mentioning later)

Like seriously Sokka has never given such big bro energy before and i'm living for it, Ian looks like Sokka, sounds like Sokka, and imo carried the show a bit.

I love a good long episode, none of this percy jackson 30 minute nonsense.

Fire Nation costumes HIT - like some of the other costumes were lacking but the fire nation uniforms and armor ? amazing.

They kept so much of the original music !!!

Honestly the bending was pretty good. i fully expected it to suck and be super cringey but there were really only a few moments of cringe for me.

KATARA. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. DON'T EVEN ASK, WE ALL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. Like, i never even liked Katara that much in the og show but dang, they ruined her.

besides katara, Iroh seemed the least character accurate to me. like, in the very first scene in the og show when Zuko is practicing his firebending iroh gets on his case for doing it wrong or whatever and he def has some attitude about it. like, Iroh isn't all chill all the time, let him have some attitude. also where was the wisdom? I felt a bit like i was watching endgame Thor - like iroh was kind of a joke? idk, i couldn't take his character seriously. the actor fell flat for me. bland. didn't sound like iroh, didn't really look like him. writing was weird.

Got Flemeth's grimoire for Morrigan. Formed a team made only of dude-bros to help Marzel get laid. Which meant they had to make do without any healing or bard song. I named them... the Snu Snu Squad (affectionate). Zevran died almost immediately. (Note: Dragon bum be dangerous position) Marzel stupidly killed his own self with blood magic while throwing his single Heal spell >_> MVP goes to Alistair for keeping alive long enough to whittle away Flemeth's health and died just exact moment Sten landed a killing blow. Grimoire was given and snu snu was had!

Marzel is in weird love triangle where all romancable persons love him. This cannot end well.

Why are there so many Desire demons? Holy crap, with the DLCs I have encountered no less than 4. Were there always this many?? Are Fereldans so horny?

What are your plans for the Devine Warriors?

Oh boy do I’ve got some!! They’re all a bit. Rough and extremely removed from canon (I’ll get to rewatching season two eventually I SWEAR)

I’ve definitely changed how they work from the very core, instead of being all literal reincarnation or immortal about it, I’ve taken it to more of like. Easiest comparison is Supernatural Angels. Basically it’s more about bloodlines and the makeup of a soul, not that anyone actually knows this though cause well

They always possessed their vessels young, no older than five, and passed it off to the public as reincarnation. The debate on if it was cruel or kind and necessary was what lead to them breaking apart, sealing away Shad, and leaving the mortals with little intervention

Of course they weren’t always gods. They started off as mortals themselves, simply a group of unlikely friends caught up in a devastating war. A war they eventually helped end, Irene committing an act of justice even when she knew it could lead to the extinction of her race...which it did. But their actions caused their souls to change, enhancing the power and strength they already had and preventing their souls from going out in death.

But that’s getting a bit into the story of them, but the mechanics of it are also different!

Of course there’s the whole Possession thing, which is actually why Aphmau is memoryless but skillful! Irene broke the rule, she stole a bit over twenty years of Aphmau’s life after getting lost in the feeling of Living after saving her from death as a small child. In an attempt to make up for this, she left Aphmau without the memories but keeping those necessary and important skills like athleticism and carpentry. She also may have made Aphmau grow wings (Irene’s original race was a sorta aasimar race, she nearly always forces her vessels to grow wings so they feel more like her) and couldn’t bring herself to tear them off before leaving her. I haven’t decided on that bit though, winged Aphmau mainly sounds cool idk if it’s cool in practice

And then there’s the relics! The relics are basically like conduits for Divine Power. Once someone has a Divine Relic, the corresponding warrior can basically turn on the tap for that power to start flowing, essentially granting the advantages of getitng possessed (such as divine weapons) but the user is still on control. Of course to access a relics power you don’t need the divine blessing, if you have it you can brute force it but that will lead to unpredictable and possibly uncharacteristic changes

These relics also create a pool of magicks for the wielders soul, and that pool will always be present even if the relic is forcefully taken away. The magicks also often manifests in a way that reflects the user as the divine warrior. It’s why Aphmau gains healing powers she can use out of the Irene State and I’m planning on giving Garroth barrier magicks (yes like Zoey has, I have thoughts about that too) after he obtains Esmund’s relic.

I may not be qualified to comment on this because I don't know Wolfwood as a character very well, but I've always hoped that he'd still believe, somewhere, somehow, while outwardly completely mocking and parodying the whole religious attire...

Like, that it would be a completely ironic yet deadly serious exhibition of what harm a cultist religion can do while using many of the same expressions of faith in a completely sincere, genuine and devote way of worship.

Idk if I can explain it well but Aramis from the BBC's Musketeers has been the object of my pondering for sooo long now, again and again. The show is cheesy but I love how he lives his faith. He starts out as a playboy, a womanizer, knowing that his "flesh" is weak and feeling guilty and repenting for it daily, but he grew up in a brothel so that whole behavior is just part of his story and how he understands the world to be. He then gets involved with Queen Anne, gets found out and vows to God that he will finally devote himself to a godly life (aka becoming a monk) if he makes it out of this scandal alive. Since he does, he has to pay up and joins a monastery. Only to be deeply, wildly unhappy and turmoiled by inner unrest there. Being a monk does not suit him, but he thinks he has to uphold his promise.

One day, he meets his best friends again and discovers that fighting for justice is what makes him happy. Wrestling with God and with his vow, he comes to the conclusion that he was born to be a musketeer. That's his purpose. That's how he serves God best. And so he returns to being a warrior, but interestingly, the times of being a bon vivant and a rake are over. Aramis has shed the outer skin of "things he thought he was supposed to do to follow this religion and be a 'good' person" and has found genuine faith and his actual gratifying purpose underneath. Now, if he repents, it's because he takes death - and a loving God who values every life - very seriously and knows that he is accountable for his actions. Not out of some wrong kind of sense of self-deprecation, spawned from the belief that God must despise him.

Aramis traded religion for real faith. Now he is free to use religious means to express that faith as he sees fit. He can use established patterns, or he can make up his own ways of honoring God. The point is that it's not strict tradition anymore. It's not about the decorum, it's about utilizing decorum to worship in reverence. But if everything becomes about the pressure of upholding decorum, the point is lost.

Back to Wolfwood, he's clearly in the 'dismantling decorum' stage, which is healthy. He's dealing with his tremendous trauma through irony. I just always wanted to interpret an awareness for genuine belief into him as well. Though I really can't be sure if his character has been written that way.

i don't believe that irl vs. online advocacy are a binary nor separate. it's true that it's possible to become too chronically online and hung-up on the wrong kind of thing. but this is true for IRL activism of any kind as well. like, there are some Left Party groups in Finland where people have become a pretentious club basically. (a chum told me she went to one meeting and these ppl would brag about having gotten wealthy via politics + would shut down any conversation that wasn't the popular guys cracking tired Karl Marx jokes. Like. Can you fucking imagine? xD). that's not an online-specific issue!

i try to restrict too much and too repetitive posting on some things, but for example those US president elections are making the whole planet sweat sheer dread, - so yeahh idk I'm not sorry for joining the loud chorus of VOTE KAMALA HARRIS. prevent the trumpery. ughh.

i belong to orgs irl and have began little by little taking part in getting known to communities in them. it's slow job for me as adjusting to new IRL people is reaaally slow for me. i'm also recovering from burn-out and struggling with bills while having extreme difficulty in finding a stable income somehow. so. to me rn there realistically isn't much i can do. but i try to, and i do.

it's also a constant process of healing myself because i'm an unwell person, someone whose CPTSD sometimes surprises me completely, like i don't even know myself or the possible situations where i suddenly fuck up badly because i never built certain emotional or relational skills. (i struggle with actual assertiveness because i'm used to repressing + people-pleasing until i get angry/hurt enough to want to "fight" and i've realized how badly i lack balance in this. inside my head is also an authoritarian nightmare towards myself, i find it hard to be at peace even in my own thoughts.) and you can not do any kind of activism REALLY WELL if you do not have kindness for yourself and others. if you do not know how to be assertive or how to cultivate healthy social boundaries etc. if you're still learning how to choose life instead of hating yourself etc.

i cherish how wanting to be a part of the family of humanity and our shared biosphere is a call for me to heal. self vs. community is also not a binary. my flesh and whole mind are made from this earth and they are cultivated and kept alive by the very fact that there is this planet, that there are other people here. healing is is communal as is all human existence. i wouldn't have any motivation to get well, if i was just gonna isolate and be cynical and passive.

people will be imperfect in their advocacy/activism. how can anyone do anything if it's cringe and horrible to be a broken person and make mistakes..? so i will not shut up just because there are certainly people who make assumptions. like. oh i must be doing this to "virtue-signal" because i'm such a massive self-centered scum person, i'm just "a chronically online social justice warrior" blahbalhna. the outcome were the villains switch to the heroes side and stop all for one would be a very 'sweet/happy' path, but would it be the right path to actually getting what they're fighting for or to surviving at all? I do believe that both the hero kids and villains can come to understand each other but if that does happen and the LOV goes to the good side, what power do the hero kids really have to change things besides microphone preaching? Heroes are loved in bnha but they aren't truly leaders of society/government, even if (somehow) they get many more civilians to change/become less apathetic, what happens if another hero commission comes along(or anyone in government power) and just says FU? What happens then? I know this seems harsh but bnha has set up these problems: quirk discrimination, a seemingly complete lack of social/system help even for children who face hardship, quirk singularity (big problem!). So I guess what I'm asking is, if 'good' methods of change wind up not working out, are the heroes the ones who should start considering the other side's methods?

Well, a couple of things here:

For me personally and the things I care about within the story and the story’s ending, you’re being way too realistic with this. It’s a story. If the author wants things to magically start to work out in the end, then they will. Diving into the nitty gritty details and logistics of it can be fun for analyzing for sure! But if we’re talking about analyzing the story WE HAVE and predicting what ending we’re heading toward—this is kind of an unproductive discussion because it’s based on things that aren’t canon. Since these are all “what ifs”.

You’re saying “what if” it doesn’t work out? I mean, when the story ends, that’s where it ends. We won’t know if it doesn’t work out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Also, that’s an “if”. But again, does it really matter?

In-universe wise—as for how? Idk, that’s for Hori to decide. But I see it going down a path where things get really really drastic and bad, the heroes HAVE to rely on the help of the LOV, and through that team up they start to actually TALK and hear each other out. My prediction for that hasn’t changed.

The whole point is for them to absorb each other’s ideals and learn from each other, and that’s exactly what it seems to be heading toward.

Do I think the heroes need to start considering the LOV’s methods?

The LOV aren’t doing anything productive. They’re not supposed to be these vigilante social justice warriors that are deconstructing a corrupt system from the inside out. They’re angry, hurt, lashing out at everybody around them, and desperately in need of help. Stopping them takes priority because more people can’t die, then rather than punishing them they get help. That’s the idea of them “switching sides”.

I say “switching sides” because it’s just an easy way to describe what I mean. But what I really mean is both sides come together. Nobody is more right than the other, more innocent or more guilty. However, on the hero side most of the characters are individually innocent, because they haven’t done anything to intentionally hurt the LOV but rather they benefit off of a corrupt system that they aren’t individually responsible for creating. The teenagers and Aizawa and the UA teachers and All Might all have flaws as people, but none of them individually can be described as guilty of hurting others with the intention TO hurt.

The LOV are a bit different and that’s why it’s a challenge. Each of them IS guilty of hurting someone or something, directly through their own choice. Yes they were reactionary choices, that’s why they need to be saved and helped rather than fought and then killed.

The LOV are hurt by the system that the heroes uphold, but the LOV hurt the heroes (some of them) directly and personally on their own accord.

Don’t get me wrong I love the villains and the hero side is just…so bleh in comparison in terms of development and learning and changing. But the whole “THE LOV ARE INNOCENT!!!” takes are just incorrect lol. And their methods are wrong. Their beliefs are up for personal interpretation for whether they’re valid or not (imo they are) but their methods are not. Terrorizing and mass killing is objectively wrong so I don’t think the hero side would ever take those methods as The Way To Go lol.

I say this a lot but people should really go read Fullmetal Alchemist and see how its ending was executed. Systemic change was heavily implied, but the story had to come to an end before we saw the change. But we’re left thinking “oh so things will change and get better!” You’re not supposed to close the last volume and think “I wonder how long before their next world war 🤔”. Like….it’s a story. That’s how I see BNHA ending. On the note of change, but we probably won’t see all of it happen. Maybe in extra content? Light novels? But in manga, I doubt it.

When BNHA ends I’m not gonna sit and wonder how the details will play out. I’m just gonna take the happy ending for what it is.

It’s not that the questions you posed aren’t good ones, but they’re not the kind of things I am interested in dissecting and taking apart story-wise. I understand this is a fun discussion for people who like to get into the logistics of the world building, but personally I’m not into it enough for these talks. For me I just wanna see my favorite characters have a happy life at the end.

HOLY SHIT THIS MOVIE IS BETTER THAN THE FIRST I LOVED IT

theres so much i want to say but i have NO IDEA how to start or how to end

first and foremost they did knuckles SO MUCH JUSTICE sega wishes they could write as well as whoever the hell made this script. hes no longer the comic relief dumbass, hes a warrior!! like he used to be!! and he has dignity and honour!! and hes a little gullible but its okay, thats how he originally was anyway x

AND TAILS!! his camaraderie with sonic was so great. i loved how he came all the way to help him from whatever planet hes from and how they just bonded so well immediately and theyre already like brothers I LOVE IT

particularly i liked the scene on the beach where sonic and knuckles stopped and breathed for a sec after having lost the master emerald to robotnik and bonded over what happened to them both the day longclaw died. i liked how they related it back as knuckles’s family was fighting against her and UGH it was so sad but it was so great

Idk if I'm about to make new enemies here, but, here goes.

Benefit of the doubt: Do you know what the term "sjw" means and how it is typically used? As right-wing dogwhistles go, it's a few years old by this point, and I don't really hear it much in political discussions anymore -- so if you're significantly younger than me, or were simply significantly less online (in English-language internet spaces, for that matter) about 5-10 years ago, you might be forgiven for having missed or misunderstood it.

Because here's the thing: I'm feeling a lot of compassion with you on the disappointment and upset about S3 (even if our attitudes differ in the specifics). But seeing the term "sjw" in a post about Good Omens is... wow, it's jarring, actually. I've always found it a weird term to use perjoratively -- "social justice warrior", how exactly is that bad? Social justice is just equal rights for people, which you'd assume is pretty neat. Isn't it a bit of a self-own, morally speaking, to claim to be against those fighting for it? And in a fandom that's this queer, open-minded, accepting, feminist (in the non-TERF way), anti-racist, anti-ableist, etc -- basically the sort of things "sjw"s are in favour of, and the sort of things hated by those who commonly use the term as a put-down.

I'm actually not even going to bother arguing on the fact that your post implies that the people who spoke out about SA committed against them, and the people who spoke out in favour of them, are more deserving of your ire than the person who stands accused. Our respective opinions about that are not my point. My point is that, damn, those three letters do a great job of making your whole post smell of hateful politics and scaring vulnerable people away, which I'm sure wasn't what you intended -- right?

I know this will get me a lot of hate and possibly cost me a few followers, but I sometimes feel I'd rather it was cancelled, so we could fight for another producer to pick it up, or hope that NG would keep his word and write the novel. It just hurts too much to see it destroyed, reduced to something rushed and plain. It's not that I doubt the crew's dedication and competence, but I'm realistic. You can't deliver on everything you had planned in just 1/3 of the time you were meant to get.

I can't relate to all the people who say "I just want a happy ending" or "I'm glad we'll get a closure". I suspect those people simply haven't read all the fabulous fanfiction in this fandom. Those who have already got their closure, and all the happy endings. I can't be the only one who has conjured countless of my own fix-its and possible scenarios while daydreaming about them. And I'm absolutely certain the actual season 3 would exceed everything the insanely talented and creative people in this fandom could ever come up with.

But I really doubt the 90m will. And I feel sick whenever I think about what could've been and what one selfish corporation and a bunch of self-righteous sjw have denied us.
