“Maple Tree Propeller” — pattern #5 from my “Late Harvest” collection in progress …. . This on was inspired by a walk with the dogs to a nearby lake, where we stopped for a swim (the dogs went in!), and as I stood there under the Maple tree, I was mesmerised by watching hundreds of these perfect flying objects as they slowly made their way down towards the water surface! . Interesting “side product” …. I am amazed how quickly I found my “middle” again — all I needed was getting hold of my Apple Pencil and my IPad, and then starting to transfer my sketches into Adobe Illustrator! The colours all derive from the colour palette I created with @mrtomfroese ‘s Skillshare class! . Can you guess which book I’m presently reading? . And which habit I’m beginning to form? . Well, it’s not entirely new to me, but it’s nice to be confirmed by an acclaimed author — habits can be completed in a few seconds (or minutes in this case), but continue to impact your behaviour for minutes or hours afterward. (….) . In my case, rather than aiming for the perfect painting or piece of art, I find it totally satisfying to start any artistic endeavour with a quick sketch in my sketchbook! I use bold strokes of watercolour, an intuitive choice of colours, and a pencil or ink pen. . Usually this starts me off for something more complex. But even if it doesn’t, I still get the immediate gratification of having filled another page in my sketchbook — job done! . What do you think of that approach? Worth trying for a day or two? Haha, today you get the full blast of affirmations I have been writing for myself for the @bonniechristine mentorship worksheet! . It’s funny what rises to the surface when you just sit in front of a blank sheet of paper, and listen to what feels like an abyss! I actually surprised myself with how much self-doubt and even shame bubbled up! It’s all about being new to so many things, and constantly facing questions and running into small and major mistakes! . Ten affirmations are now sitting next to me at my desk, so I can read them out aloud whenever I need some positive reinforcement! Hello everyone! I’m back with the last adopted bear illustration for the moment! Please meet „Nourishing Bear“ — an attempt to make sure everyone has a full belly and is feeling comforted on all levels (sounds familiar to anyone?!!). . This can be necessary at times, but it’s equally necessary to nourish ones own needs on a deep soul level. I have decided to finally do exactly that: . After 19 years of putting my family’s needs first, I‘ll take a new turn! I‘m dreaming of a career as a surface pattern designer, so I habe signed up for the 2021 Bonnie Christine Immersion course! Little interlude — exploring these bugs! If you take a close-up look at them, they almost look like aliens! It is almost impossible to say, how many different species inhabit our planet, but scientists agree that there are more than a million! . They don’t always have a good reputation. They ruin the harvest, harm and appear dangerous, but the truth is, they play an important role in the equilibrium of nature! . Like bees, they pollinate numerous plants! 35 percent of what we harvest wouldn’t even exist without them! Or try to imagine the textile silk industry with out the silk spinner — one single caterpillar can produce a thread of 1.5 km length!! . Im not sure yet what I’m going to do with those sketches! All I know is, I am not done yet with them! Lust look at those amazing antennas — don’t they look like antlers? . Do you recognise these bunnies and bears? . This is my very first collection „Roots and Wings“ which I finalised at the end of the #immersion2021! .
