I think we frequently picture a vision board as a massive board on our wall surface, covered in images of every little thing we prefer in our lives, but that’s not actually what it has to resemble. I have set up some vision boards based on motivating you to believe outside the box and also establish…

Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones (1985)
Polly has two sets of memories...
One is normal: school, home, friends. The other, stranger memories begin nine years ago, when she was ten and gate-crashed an odd funeral in the mansion near her grandmother's house. Polly's just beginning to recall the sometimes marvelous, sometimes frightening adventures she embarked on with Tom Lynn after that. And then she did something terrible, and everything changed.
But what did she do? Why can't she remember? Polly must uncover the secret, or her true love — and perhaps Polly herself — will be lost.
The Medoran Chronicles by Lynette Noni (2015-2019)

While waiting for him to reappear, Alex attends Akarnae Academy, Medora's boarding school for teenagers with extraordinary gifts. She soon starts to enjoy her bizarre new world and the friends who embrace her as one of their own, but strange things are happening at Akarnae, and Alex can't ignore her fear that something unexpected... something sinister... is looming.
An unwilling pawn in a deadly game, Alex's shoulders bear the crushing weight of an entire race's survival. Only she can save the Medorans, but what if doing so prevents her from ever returning home?
The Girl With Silver Eyes by Willo Davis Roberts (1980)
Everyone knows that Katie is different. The first thing people notice about her are her shiny silver eyes, but even they are not her most unique feature. If they paid a bit more attention, they might see that, as well as being very clever, she attracts strange activity. She can move her glasses back up her nose without touching them and freak weather seems to follow her around. However, when Katie moves to a new neighbourhood, she begins to realise that she might not be the only one who has the ability to do unbelievable things. Join Katie as she struggles to learn more about her place in two very different worlds. A magical story about a magical girl, with powers almost as sharp as her sensational silver eyes.
The Song of Albion by Stephen R. Lawhead (1991-1991)
From the dreaming spires of Oxford, Lewis Gillies drives north to seek a mythical creature in a misty glen in Scotland. Expecting little more than a weekend diversion, Lewis finds himself in a mystical place where two worlds meet, in the time-between-times--and in the heart of a battle between good and evil. The ancient Celts admitted no separation between this world and the Otherworld: the two were delicately interwoven, each dependent on the other. The Paradise War crosses the thin places between this world and that, as Lewis Gillies comes face-to-face with an ancient mystery--and a cosmic catastrophe in the making.
The World of Riverside by Ellen Kushner (1987-2002)
On the treacherous streets of Riverside, a man lives and dies by the sword. Even the nobles on the Hill turn to duels to settle their disputes. Within this elite, dangerous world, Richard St. Vier is the undisputed master, as skilled as he is ruthless—until a death by the sword is met with outrage instead of awe, and the city discovers that the line between hero and villain can be altered in the blink of an eye.
The Tarot Sequence by K. D. Edwards (2018-present)
Rune Saint John, last child of the fallen Sun Court, is hired to search for Lady Judgment's missing son, Addam, on New Atlantis, the island city where the Atlanteans moved after ordinary humans destroyed their original home.
With his companion and bodyguard, Brand, he questions Addam's relatives and business contacts through the highest ranks of the nobles of New Atlantis. But as they investigate, they uncover more than a missing man: a legendary creature connected to the secret of the massacre of Rune's Court.
In looking for Addam, can Rune find the truth behind his family's death and the torments of his past?
Bardic Voices by Mercedes Lackey (1992-1997)
With the proper schooling young Rune would be one of the greatest bards her world has ever seen. Even if only she knows it. Unfortunately, the daughter of a tavern wench at the Hungry Bear, no matter how talented, doesn't get much in the way of formal training. What she does get is frustrated.
One night, to back up a brag she probably wouldn't have made if she weren't so mad, she went up to play her fiddle for the Ghost of Skull Hill. Everyone knows that no one who has ever gone up Skull Hill has come down again. Not alive, anyway.
But when the ghost appears Rune Strikes a bargain: if the ghost tires of her playing before morning her life is his; if he is still listening when the sun glints over yonder hill she will have earned both life and a sack of silver. Let the music begin...
The Squire's Tales by Gerald Morris (1998-2010)
Life for the young orphan Terence has been peaceful, living with Trevisant, the old Hermit in a quiet, isolated wood.
That is, until the day a strange green sprite leads him to Gawain, King Arthur's nephew, who is on his way to Camelot hoping to be knighted. Trevisant can see the future and knows that Terence must leave to serve as Gawain's squire. From that moment on, Terence's life is filled with heart-stopping adventure as he helps damsels-in-distress, fights battles with devious men, and protects King Arthur from his many enemies.
Along the way, Terence is amazed at his skills and new-found magical abilities. Were these a gift from his unknown parents? As Gawain continues his quest for knighthood, Terence searches for answers to the riddles in his own past.

The Sun: What is the history between Dior and the royal family?
December 12, 2023 || Born in 1905, Christian Dior, the fashion designer, climbed the ranks of several Parisian fashion houses before establishing his own establishment in 1946.
One of the early royal admirers of the designer was Princess Margaret, the sister of Queen Elizabeth II.
She became a client of the fashion house and one of Dior's most famous designs, the "Margaret Dress," was named after her.
Queen Elizabeth II also shared a close connection with Dior.
She appointed Doir to design her Coronation gown for the crowning ceremony in 1953.
The gown, famously called the "Hartnell Dress," was a collaboration between Dior and British couturier Sir Norman Hartnell.
Over the years, various royal family members have continued to wear Dior creations for public appearances.
Dior dressed Prince Harry for King Charles' coronation in May 2023 - as the royal forwent wearing a military uniform.
Shortly after the coronation ceremony, Dior took to its social media to reveal Kim Jones was the designer behind the suit.
"Tailoring fit for royalty. Dior is honoured to have dressed Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, for the coronation of King Charles III in a custom design by Kim Jones," the brand wrote on Instagram.
"Seen arriving at Westminster Abbey, gain an insight into the savoir-faire of his three-piece suit next," it added.
Why was it speculated that Meghan Markle would have a deal with Dior?
In June 2023, it was reported that Meghan was in talks about taking on a deal with Dior.
Following the cancellation of her Spotify podcast after just one season, there was widespread speculation that the Duchess of Sussex was poised for a new role with the French fashion house.
Meghan has worn Dior several times throughout her time as a working royal, including at the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral in September 2022.
However, sources close to the Royals said no contract had been inked.
Dior also expressed its surprise and confusion when the idea of a deal was initially brought up.
A source told the Telegraph: "The Duchess of Sussex is not in talks to sign a deal with Dior.
"There is no truth to the claims that she will partner with the French fashion house,"
A Dior insider said its team was "nonplussed as to how the story came about".
Who became 'the Duchess of Dior' in 2023?
Meghan lost out on the opportunity of a lucrative Dior job to a Kate Middleton actress.
It was revealed in November 2023, that Meg Bellamy, 21, who plays a young Kate Middleton in season six of the hit royal drama The Crown is to be the new face of Dior.
An insider told The Daily Mail: "They have been queuing up for Meg, she is playing the most famous woman in the world in a globally famous television drama, so many labels and brands want some of that.
"She is a total unknown, but she is being treated like Kate, an A-list princess."
What deals and contracts does Meghan Markle have?
After leaving the royal family and their royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan vowed to become financially independent.
It was reported that the couple would support themselves through Prince Harry's $10 million inheritance from his mother, Princess Diana.
With the world eager to know their story, lucrative million-dollar deals started rolling in from AppleTV, Netflix, and Spotify.
The couple signed a deal with Netflix through their production company, Archewell Productions, with a hefty payment of $100 million for multiple projects.
They have since released one documentary, Harry and Meghan.
Their upcoming documentary series titled, Heart of Invictus, is in the works.
While their third documentary is to be shot in South Africa, the Sussexes are also planning to delve into the rom-com genre with the streaming giant
In June 2023, the couple made headlines when it was reported that their 25-million-dollar deal with Spotify had ended.
According to Rolling Stone, the couple would pay back a portion of their deal money and look for another company to produce podcasts with.
In a joint statement, they said: "Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together."
Royal biographer Tom Bower believes that the couple's "joint ventures are falling apart" and that Meghan is finding it difficult to sell her brand.
"They're beginning to taste the medicine that they handed out after the Oprah interview and they're finding it very very hard to keep their brand reputable," Bower told new magazine.
"They're constantly having to defend themselves and grasping at opportunities that don't exist anymore."

Original Art - Marvel Comics Christmas TV Special Concept Art
Art by Will Meugniot
New World Entertainment (c.1990's)
From ha.com...
"The nefarious supervillain Dr. Doom kidnaps Santa and it's up to a cadre of Marvel Comics' superheroes to come to the rescue and bring Doom to justice. This was the premise of a proposed holiday television special dreamed up by the great Stan Lee (1922 - 2018) for New World Entertainment in the early '90s. Noted comic artist Will Meugniot was tasked with creating this one-of-a-kind promotional concept art as a visual to pitch the idea to studio execs. The artwork includes a collection of some of Marvel's best known characters mixed with a few of the more obscure. Captain America, Hulk and Spider-Man lead the pack, with the Fantastic Four, Cyclops, Silver Surfer, and Thor close behind. Off in the distance are Dr. Strange, Vision, Sub-Mariner, Daredevil, and Tigra. This is, to our knowledge, the first time Vision and Tigra were considered for an animated role. It's a remarkably eclectic crowd that has mobilized in Santa's defense. The character art is rendered on acetate overlays with the black line art printed on front and the colors meticulously hand-painted on back. It is presented over its original background, hand-painted in gouache on illustration board. The space above was to carry the headline "Join Your Favorite Marvel Superheroes As They Team Up to Save Christmas from Dr. Doom!" A similar image created from Mr. Meugniot's original pencil art for this piece was featured on the January 2019 cover of Alter Ego Magazine. The character artwork measures 17" x 17" over a 24" x 20" hand-painted background and the acetate is held in place with clear tape. It's a large and impressive composition. The TV special never made it to production, making this artwork a true lost Marvel treasure."

A car chase? In my sci-fi fantasy story??? (The Gap Years part 11)
June 19th 2019
Vya, NV
There’s a fight scene here. It doesn’t get graphic but there’s a fight.
…………
They’re so dead and it’s all his fault. Brian remembers one of the first times he tried to surf on the real ocean. He’d gone out with his brothers and was finally starting to get it when the board flew out from under him and caught Brian under the wave. He’d tumbled around, blinded by salt and sandy water, until the current finally slammed him back onto the beach. Brian spent the next ten minutes coughing up seawater until Nathan called him a baby and dragged him back out. That’s about the same feeling as pulling himself out of the strange elf’s spell. He’s disoriented and cold and feels like he can’t breathe, but Brian doesn’t have time to catch his breath now. It’s finally time for fight or flight, and he begins to run.
He’s taller and faster than Sierra, so he has time to turn around and look over his shoulder at Marin. The prince has shifted back to his normal emerald green magic and has tackled the other woman to the ground. He puts one glowing hand on her forehead and stabs her chest with the dagger he holds in the other. Oh yeah. Weaponry. Marin left his bigger-on-the-inside bag with Clay (it wasn’t the sort of thing a commoner would have) so the three have two daggers and a pistol between them. The injured elf dissapears from Marin’s grasp. Brian has learned since their first fight that she’s retreated to the elven world. No need to die in combat if you have already been defeated. By complicated rules of elven combat, she can’t return without forfeiting that right to escape.
Marin’s hands hit the ground with a puff of dust. He picks himself up, and Brian can see other elven soldiers turning towards them. Each one has glowing eyes and a faint outline of magic around them. They wear the same sci-fi armor as the elves from San Francisco, but none are wearing the featureless helmets. They need to run. The prince sprints- that’s really not a good enough word for it, he’s moving at least twenty miles per hour- back to him and Sierra. They turn down a side street, running as fast as possible.
For the first time in ten days, Brian’s vision flashes with magical color. An exact copy of himself appears and turns away from the group. Two more copies peel off on the opposite side, with matching Sierras and Marins as well. The illusions are insane. Brian sees himself in photos constantly. He’s the suntanned, blue-eyed, son of the govenor, champion wrestler and verified surfer boy. He has that hot scar on his jaw from an accident too mundane for the magazines to mention, and he’s eighteen, finally old enough that the media outlets have gotten a lot more honest. Brian sees himself in photos a lot, but they can’t capture him as well as Marin has. It’s unsettling to see himself the way someone else might, a six foot three athlete tearing across the steppe.
For a few seconds, each figure has a halo of green, but then that fades and they become perfect mirror images. Watching the copies makes it all too clear that Sierra can’t keep up with the two of them in a dead sprint. She’s going to be setting their top speed.
Marin staggers for a moment, and he rethinks that idea.
“I should have taken her gun,” he gasps. More soldiers are running after them now, and a few leap across the rooftops a story above them. Most carry guns, but a few have what look like energy weapons. He can see their faces this time. The elves represent every race that Brian can recognize, with a rainbow of different colored eyes and armor. A good number of the soldiers are running away too, presumably after the duplicates. Not all of them though.
Brian pulls out the pistol and considers the dial on the side. Sierra pulls her headphones over her ears. The gun isn’t loud, but it’s her preference. Brian turns it all the way to kill, then hesitates and moves it back. He can see their faces this time. Brian knows firsthand how hard it is to aim while running, but tries anyway. The new gun has much less recoil than the rifle and seems to draw power from a green battery above the trigger. He misses.
He moves, his targets move, his vision keeps flashing with lights. Brian has no clue what they actually look like right now with all of the illusions that Marin is casting, but they must be good because he hasn’t been shot yet. But Marin clearly can’t keep this up. His eyes are glowing even more brightly now, and he can hardly look at the elf without squinting. More soldiers converge on the group. They shoot from the rooftops and Brian shoots back. Brian hears himself starting to laugh.
“Quiet,” Marin snaps. “I’m worse with sound than with light”.
Okay then. Let a man die dramatically, alright?
And he’ll be doing that soon. A shot finally makes it through whatever spells Marin cast and strikes Brian square in the shoulder. It feels like a fastball, but he’s heard that a bullet feels like a punch too. The impact jerks him backwards and he feels his left arm go numb. The stun setting? Brian had assumed that they wouldn’t bother to take him alive. An elf above them yells something in a language that he can’t understand. Soldiers have climbed down the sides of the buildings in front of them and blocked their exit. They’re trapped.
“They’re telling us to surrender. Drop the gun.” Marin whispers, “I’m sorry”.
Brian lets it fall, but Sierra whispers back, “Hide my hands”.
What possible plan could she have to fix this? Marin does anyway. She pulls something from the pocket of her sweatshirt. It’s the gadget she’s been working on for the past few days. It looks a bit like a speaker? There’s exposed wires and stuff too though. She slides it over her phone. Sierra gives Brian a pointed look and adjusts her headphones.
“Freshman year English. Island of Sirens”.
Brian doesn’t need any more context to understand her message (but he’s distantly surprised that Sierra remembers any of the classics). Odysseus has his crew stuff their ears with wax to sail past the island of the sirens without wanting to throw themselves into the sea. Elves have big ears, so they must have good hearing. Marin said that he was worse at controlling sound too! Maybe that’s a universal thing? None of the soldiers are wearing helmets either.
Trusting that all hell will break loose within a few seconds, he repeats the message to Marin.
Sierra holds her phone above her head. Marin clamps his hands over his ears as her phone amplifies some screeching noise across the desert. It’s bad. It’s an awful noise and far too close to his head. The really bad thing though, is that the noise doesn’t stop. He wasn’t sure how good the noise-canceling was on her headphones, but it must be pretty great because now she’s the one sprinting while they stagger along. Brian picks up his pistol again and charges ahead. His left arm is useless, so instead of covering his ears, he’s going to get as far away from the noise as possible. The elves blocking their path are stunned. Brian shoots each of them until they fall and keeps running. His friends follow behind.
Behind him, some elf recovers enough to shoot him a second time, right in the chest. Everything feels heavy. (It was right over his heart too, come to think of it. Oh god, is he having a heart attack?) They’re getting close to the car though. It’s pigeon gray and horribly anachronistic against the desert. Clay’s actually moved it closer to them, and has their own rifle balanced on the windowsill. He scowls at something behind them and shoots twice. The car is running. He is going to pass out. He is going to die.
The driver’s side is the closest to them and they all fling themselves into the back rather than run around. Clay throws his weight onto the gas and they accelerate as fast as they can. The car is going sixty, eighty, one hundred and twenty miles per hour. If there’s traps on the road, then at least they will die quickly. That’s doubtful though, because they’re being chased. Brian’s pistol slips from his hand and falls to the floor. It takes a titanic effort for Brian to haul himself upright in his seat. (His chest hurts. It’s hard to breathe). Sierra finally turns off her device.
“What is this, podracing?” She jokes. Brian’s ears are ringing and he can barely hear. Their pursuers are more like the hovering things from Return of the Jedi. Speeder bikes? They don’t look like bikes. There’s two of them, and several more far behind them. Brian guesses they’ll be able to shake the far ones with pure speed. Brian wants to help. He wants to do something, anything, but he knows he’s pushed his body too far. Marin looks about the same way, so it falls to Sierra to take Clay’s rifle from the passenger seat and try to aim it out the open sunroof. She has one foot on the thing between the front seats and the other right beside Brian’s leg. If they stop short, she’s definitely dead.
One speeder draws closer than the other. There’s two elves on it, with the same neon detailed armor as the ones they fought back in San Francisco. The rider tried to shoot the car with a gun, maybe the back wheels, but none of the shots hit.
Sierra ducks down. “Marin, tell them in Elvish or whatever that we’re going too fast and that if they shoot the wheels, the car flips and we all die”.
He looks a bit shocked, but obeys. Behind them, the shots stop. Good to know.
The elf driver pushes the machine to go even faster. Sierra risks a shot, and the passenger catches it. Not physically, but they hold up their hands and somehow catch the burst of emerald light before it can hit. The shot flickers to indigo, then rust red, and then fades. The soldier who caught it plants one foot and lifts themself higher.
“Do I duck?” she asks frantically.
“They’re not armed? I don’t know!” Clay replies.
The soldier stands tall and pulls off their helmet. The face underneath it does not help Brian assign a gender to the figure. Brian’s only watched Lord of the Rings once, but he still has a mental image of what an elf should look like. He imagines etherial, feminine, figures with pale, flawless skin, and straight hair that flows down to their waists. He’s seen half a dozen elves up close by now and not a single one matches that description. Still, he hasn’t been able to shake it.
First of all, the soldier is young. They could pass for someone in his grade, with acne scars across their dark skin and the sharp, skinny features of a young adult who hasn’t fully finished growing. Their dark gold hair is shaved on the sides in a style that wouldn’t look out of place in any high school, but there’s something about the intensity of their glowing eyes that makes comparing the elf to a teenager comical. In his exhaustion, Brian is transfixed. Sierra doesn’t move either.
The elf shouts something into the dusty air. It’s no language Brian can understand, but it sounds different than the previous call to surrender. A different language, maybe? He thinks he recognizes Marin’s name at the start of the phrase. He responds in the same language with the same proud tone.
The soldier is silent. They narrow their eyes and shift their shoulders back. Sunlight reflects off of that wrist armor -a vambrace- that Marin says is the symbol of the nobility as they turn to the side and raise their arms. Distantly, Brian thinks that Sierra should duck. Something glows a deep dark red between their hands. Then there is light and movement and Sierra falls with a scream back into the car. She hits her head against the side of the sunroof on the way down, and lies motionless in a crumpled pile across the back seats.
Clay swears. “Sierra!” She doesn't respond.
Brian can’t tell if she’s unconcious because of the magic or the impact, but she’s at least alive. He doesn’t even need to feel for a pulse to check. The blood in the side of her neck is the same dark red as the soldier’s magic, and pulses faintly with her heartbeat. The color creeps outwards like a bruise.
“She’s alive,” Brian replies, because there’s nothing else to say.
“Say something more useful, please.”
Clay should be back here and he should be driving. Clay is the medic. Clay is the sensible one. Clay is a perfect shot with a rifle and better at math and brave enough to oppose his father.
“She’s unconcious, but her pulse seems normal? She’s breathing. There’s this magical bruise thing on her neck.”
“That’s not blood? Thank god.”
“No. It’s red magic.”
“The noble seems to be retreating,” Marin adds. His eyes are hazel again and the elf is struggling to keep them open.
“Marin, you cannot pass out right now. Five more minutes.” Brian also wants to pass out, but he refuses to leave Clay alone with three helpless friends. “Do you know what this is?”
“No. I might later.” He says something in that elven language and then offers something that might be a translation. “Stupid tired”.
A human car appears over the horizon on the other side of the road. Maybe that's why the elves retreated? Everything feels far away. Brian knows this feeling well.
“I got shot twice. Stun setting, probably. If I pass out…will I wake up?” he asks absurdly. What’s he going to do if Marin says no? Not pass out? For all his talk, Brian has never been great at the whole “do not go gentle” thing.
“Don’t you two dare,” Clay says.
He doesn’t have any power here. Marin nods his approval. “You’re all good”
The heaviness in his chest and arm finally drag Brian into unconsciousness. He falls asleep with Sierra’s head on his lap and the morning sun shining into his eyes on the second-longest day of the year.
Clay drives the car the next six hundred miles in silence, until the Las Vegas strip rises ahead of him and the battered party arrives in the city that has more in common with the nuclear bombs detonated outside it than the desert it was built from. They are all awake again by that point. They just don’t feel like talking.
………
The second to last line (about how Las Vegas has more in common with nuclear bombs than the desert) is paraphrased from Jacob Geller’s Art For No One . The line is 4:30 in.
The soldiers were speaking Lazarin, the official language of the Elven world. Amedi and Marin spoke Old Lazarin to each other, which is a bit like comparing Latin to a modern romance language. Old Lazarin is only used by the High Nobility, but it’s well known and can be studied in school.

THE CREATOR OF GOOGLE
The story of the creator of Google begins with two brilliant computer scientists, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. They met at Stanford University in 1995 while pursuing their Ph.D. degrees in computer science.
Larry Page, originally from Michigan, had a strong interest in computers from a young age. He was fascinated by the idea of organizing vast amounts of information and making it accessible to everyone. Sergey Brin, born in Russia and raised in the United States, had a similar passion for computer science and technology.
In 1996, Larry and Sergey started working on a research project together. Their goal was to develop a search engine that would revolutionize the way people find information on the internet. They believed that existing search engines at the time were not efficient enough and wanted to create something better.
The breakthrough came in 1998 when they developed an algorithm called PageRank. This algorithm ranked web pages based on their relevance and popularity, revolutionizing the way search engines worked. They named their search engine "Google," derived from the mathematical term "googol," which represents the number one followed by a hundred zeros.
Google quickly gained popularity due to its accurate and efficient search results. Larry and Sergey decided to drop out of their Ph.D. program to focus on developing Google further. They received funding from various investors, including a significant investment from Andy Bechtolsheim, co-founder of Sun Microsystems.
As Google continued to grow, Larry and Sergey hired talented engineers and employees to help expand the company. They introduced new features like Google Images, Google News, and Google Maps, making it more than just a search engine. Google became a household name and the go-to place for information on the internet.
In 2004, Google went public, making Larry and Sergey billionaires overnight. However, they remained committed to their vision of organizing the world's information and making it universally accessible. They continued to innovate and introduced products like Gmail, Google Chrome, and Google Drive.
Today, Google is one of the most valuable and influential companies in the world. Larry Page served as the CEO of Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc., until 2019, while Sergey Brin served as the President. They have both stepped down from their leadership roles but remain involved in the company as board members.
The story of the creator of Google is a testament to the power of innovation, determination, and the belief that technology can change the world. Larry Page and Sergey Brin's vision has forever transformed the way we access information and has made Google an integral part of our daily lives.

As soon as I have cash moneys, I’m going to commission (plead with) someone to draw Garak surrounded and cozy with the books I love best. Maybe in a sort of nook? Maybe Julian is coming in behind him to bring him his beloved tea? There are so many books… and he’s cozy. And gorgeous! @eew101 your wonderful art is partly responsible for these wonderful visions so thank you! 🎨 💕

On loss and new beginnings
Tumblr media
How losing my job pushed me to chase my dreams.
Hello beautiful soul! Thank you for being here♡.
As my first official Tumblr post, I thought it was a good idea to tell you the journey that got me here and the lessons I learned along the way, so here it is:
Back in 2018 I was publishing articles on We Heart It, until one day I realized that the restricted formatting for the articles, the way the posts were presented on my profile, and the changes the platform was undergoing at the time didn’t fit my vision for a future blog or presence in social media. So, that same day I decided to delete my We Heart It account and made a list of possible alternatives to research “later”.
However, as you might be guessing later almost became never. In 2019 I started college, and in August 2020 I got my first job. A very overwhelmed and lost me was trying to balance work, college and life —in the middle of a global pandemic—, and dedicate the little time I had left to the ol’ blog project. Yet, life keep getting in the way, and I had to press pause.
Fast forwarding to July 2023, my two —almost three— years contract was terminated. Yet, thanks to that canonical event, I was able to get real with myself and admit that all along being “too busy” and “allowing life to get in the way” were choices I was making, because life will always get in the way anyway.
So, if there’s anything I’ve learned from this journey, is that:
Your darkest time always comes before your dawn; every ending is a new beginning.
Don’t wait for everything to be perfect, there’s no better time to start than now.
Start small but get start; growth begins when you decide to leave your comfort zone.
Everything you need is already within you, believe in yourself. You got this!
I hope my story inspired you to make any project that’s pending in your to-do list or vision board started instead of waiting to be “available” as I was.
Until next time, Astrid.

The Future of Maritime Logistics: Nicolas Ang’s Visionary Role with F-Drones
Logistics is a process of managing supply and transportation for the timely delivery of goods in good condition. Efficiency is essential to logistics as the damage to goods or misplacements can lead to cost barring. Any business can scale its sales and increase customers by properly managing its logistics. The advancement in technology in recent years has led to the development of software which helps in the efficient and proper management of logistics.
Tumblr media
There are different ways like roads, air, and marine for transportation of goods, based on the type of product and transportation one can choose the mode of transport. Maritime logistics is the process of transporting goods from one place to another via sea route. It has been observed that through maritime logistics we can achieve a high efficiency rate in both the operation and service management of logistics. In this article, we discuss one such company founded by Nicolas Ang called F-drones, which has a vision of providing efficient and sustainable maritime logistics.
Nicolas Ang: Co-founder of F-drones
Nicolas is a co-founder of F-drones in Singapore, who has 10 years of experience in bringing foreign exchange investments from aerospace, marine, and other resource companies. He completed his Bachelor’s (Hons), Mechanical Engineering (Aeronautical Engineering), and Business from the National University of Singapore. Nicolas worked as an intern Research Engineer at the Data Storage Institute and Swedish Institute of Space Physics. Later he started his career at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) as a Senior Officer for New Technologies and played many different roles in the organization, he was also an Assistant Vice President. He founded Entrepreneur First, the world’s leading talent investor, and helps ambitious individuals find co-founders to develop their ideas and start a company. Nicolas is a veteran of the Singapore government as part of Singapore’s Office for Space Technology and Industry who works with foreign investors
Nicolas met his co-founder Yeshwant at Entrepreneur First in a talent investor program, where both of them were excited about the drone sector and also helping businesses move supplies across remote locations. Later in the year 2019, both together founded F-drones with the vision to enable large-scale and on-demand aerial deliveries for the industrial world. Since 2019 they were been conducting tests for delivering vessels in the off-shore-self drone. In the year 2020, F-drone was the first Singaporean company to get authorization from the aviation authorities to conduct Beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) drone deliveries.
Brief about F-drones
F-drones is a logistics company that produces large-scale autonomous delivery drones for maritime logistics. It was co-founded by Nicolas Ang in the year 2019 and has its headquarters located in Singapore. The vision of the company is to make the world’s maritime logistics more efficient and sustainable as It also helps reduce 80% of the cost, time, and emission. The company is building the best autonomous aerial cargo delivery platform for industrial logistics according to the requirements of the industries in terms of weight, range, volume, and operations. The solutions are created after working with the market and understanding their needs. The company has launched Hypercopter and Hyperlaunch drones where Hypercopter can carry 10 kg over 30 km and is available in 3 variants. The Hyperlaunch drone carries 5 kg over 50 km and the company is on the way to launch eclectic drones that would be delivering 100 kg loads over 100 km to make it an integral part of logistical solutions for various industries.
Since the start of the company, F-drones have been in the way of developing new drones for different purposes. In April 2020 it developed Singapore’s first BVLOS delivery and in Nov 2020 world’s first offshore night delivery. Late in Dec 2021, it did the world’s first commercial drone delivery to a petrochemical plant, and in Dec 2022, it developed Thailand’s first BVLOS delivery. By the end of 2023, the company has set its operations across 5 different countries. It is ready for the commercialization of hyper plant drone in 2024. In the process of making maritime logistics sustainable and efficient,  Nicolas Ang with F-drones has made remarkable inventions that will help in the advancement logistics sector.

THE LOST GOLDEN SKULL
I was asked recently what became of the skull of my friend and mentor, LANCE DE LOS REYES.
For context. Lance was a modern American artist who worked in many mediums. These would include; canvas, assemblage, sculpture, poetry and graffiti that was often painted in very dangerous and high exposure surfaces such as billboards.
He became very well known for writing RAMBO and was even interviewed by VICE magazine about his relationship to his alter ego. In the piece he simply stated that he knew him but that he was most certainly not him. The interviewer really tried to play into the graffiti culture trop of shine and recognition but ultimately what he was writing on the billboards was part of a much larger and more ambitious piece or art that he’d worked his entire life to construct.
The pinnacle of his masterpiece was something I was told he had been talking about for over 20 years. I’m unclear on when and how he came to this idea but it was something he was very vocal about explaining in detail to anyone who could endure what he described.
The idea itself was simple.
Lance would have all of his teeth completely cast in solid GOLD and then have all of his teeth removed and replaced with brand new SOLID GOLD TEETH. He would then create a living will like document in which he would sell his GOLD TOOTH SKULL proprietary to art titan DAMIEN HURST for $1,000,000. This was to be his most ambitious work as it would require actual physical suffering, anxiety, trauma, planning and a very long and painful healing process once the teeth had been successfully implanted into his skull.
Many people who I’ve met have shared that they too knew of the skull project and that it was a THING that really separated the BELIEVERS from the NAYSAYERS. Just the reaction that would generated from explaining his idea has a pretty visceral reaction from most people. I don’t think that the IF IT’S NOT BROKE, DON’T FIX IT mind that many of us adhere to on a really basic level would never, EVER include modifying one’s TEETH to create a piece of art that would rip a hole in time and space by the pure intent of effort expended in doing so.
At the point in the yarn when I explain that he did actually find the financial backer to support his vision and allow him to TRANSFORM into the piece of LIVING ART that he reached at with a full heart from his first breath to his last. Most people do not believe that this is a thing that actually happened and that his face is one the cover of a magazine, stretched into a contorted, clinical grimace to proclaim without any uncertainty that he had indeed executed the most brutal show of devotion to one’s own artistic vision and mission.
The last time I saw Lance alive, I picked him up on Hester street in Chinatown in WOOF, MCODY’s HONDA CIVIC. We had worked very hard over the course of several weeks on a series of drawings and videos that accompanied them as they were produced. All of the work was created and bounced back and forth between us, while I was on holiday with my kids. It’s ironic as the very first piece I made for him was made entirely in the passenger seat of a rental car driving to MONTAUK.
After I returned from holiday we met up and I drove him to pick up a rental car from JFK, so he could go to the HAMPTONS for a two week artist residency. He has completed replacing 60% of his teeth at that point in August of 2019. He had intended to return to paint his first billboard in many years and paint an actual image on the board instead of invocational words. But he fell from the ladder many stories when his hand slipped out of a glove.
He explained how the ritual of getting up on the board works. I will not explain this. But will say that he had a process and something must have been a miss when he approached this particular billboard. There’s so many variables and we all are careening through time and space in utter oblivion of the chaos that swirls around us. Just no the other side of every choice. He fell what he said was over 50 feet. There’s no way of knowing and he lived after shattering his pelvis from the fall.
He had only been out of the hospital a few weeks when I picked him up in CHINATOWN.
I jumped out of the car and helped him down the stairs trying to shoulder as much of his weight as I could. He seemed pretty solid but also was obviously in a ton of extreme pain from his shattered pelvis (which CANNOT be cast) and his mouth full of throbbing gums with shiny GOLD TEETH gleaming out. We made our way to the car and I helped him in. Right away he told me to drive chill because he knew that I was an agro person. So we drove the 90 or so minutes through traffic chatting and planning his pop up with CHAMPION that was launching that fall. He had been waiting on this capsule partnership for a while to give him some much needed footing and passive income.
We intentionally tried to keep it light though as MCODY was in the car with us and we were both like little kids, so happy to see each other and high five on all the hard work we put in on the 100 SKETCH project we busted out a couple weeks before. I think about that day a lot and what he said. We spoke on the phone a few more times but it would just happen in 2021 when I saw it pop up on INSTAGRAM..
I knew he finished and had let him know I was proud of him. He was always cycling in and out of circles of people and would also go into super hiding and just make for marathon periods.
At his wake I heard some kids mumble something about the skull and tried to put it out of my mind. I didn’t want to speak at all because I was really thankful to have worked with him and I didn’t need any of these people to know who I was or what we did together. I introduced myself to BAILEY, the guy he did some video stuff with after me. He was really cool and it felt super healing to have a couple minutes with him.
I spoke with ANNA, his widow at the wake and was able to give ROMAN his son a hug. It meant alot to her that I came. I was glad and did my best to show her eyes how sorry I was so she could keep doing her best. I really respect her so much and have always tried to be a positive force.
I was too broken inside to be present with my brother who was at the wake who introduced us. I knew what would happen and how horrible I would fall apart, so I just shuffled off. It was something that I feel really ashamed of because I could see him just feet away from me in such pain as I spoke with her. I didn’t have it in me be present for him. In a strange way, I know that he and Lance would have completely understood how much it hurt and why it would have made it worse for us both. We left and had some of the best drinks of my life at the NANCY WHISKEY on LISPENARD and AVE OF THE AMERICA’s, up the street from the CANADA gallery where the wake happened. It was a brutally cold and crisp winter day. Perfect weather to cuddle in the pub with GUINNESS and POWERS neat over several hours of reflection and laughter with MCODY. It was the place
I would have had a wake for my DAD if that had been possible.
We drank to Lance and his life. To the art that he gave to us and his character that would always leave a lasting tree with roots growing from the base of our souls. We felt the warm embrace of the weathered wooden shanty that sat atop the kitchen in a precarious treehouse of booze, nestled on top of the train in TRIBECA.
What is the value of art?
What is the value of life?
What is the cost of possession?
Lance did not ask these questions.
He replaced the teeth in his head with GOLD TEETH. It’s unknown if he sold his skull.
It doesn’t matter to me. I miss my friend desperately and live in a shadow that his greatness commands from me. Because he looked me in the eye and told me that I was a great artist. That this life would command huge sacrifice and demand everything that we have to give. But our children must see us live as men who do not follow the lamb to the blade but charge off into the heather to live free. ART is WAR. It is not something that is simple, easy or a straight line. Many humans I know learn to master their own hearts at a young age and follow a very prosperous path into a glorious kingdom of their own making. Others succumb to the forces of context that summon the demons who take them back to the other side. We always try our best to never quit on them ever but know that every day and breath we have with them is precious.
That is not the path for people like myself and Lance. We are born into a context and survive the many trials and choices we are presented with. The approach is zealous and driven by something utterly SUBLIME. The quest to create and actually TRANSFORM ourselves is paramount to the degree and magnitude to which the work is capable. At its core, the work has to confront the DOGMA that we see and present a force opposing it. This doesn’t need to be violent, destructive or scary. But sadly, the process for people like us to move our human frames through the fabric of time and space with all the collateral synchronicities elapsing and collapsing upon each other.
If we are to live in the form that we choose, we live and become the art we define.
KNOW GODS JUST WORK
The price of the GOLD SKULL is a debt that is never ever paid. The people who love him the most will always keep paying for this piece of work, because we cared for him so much and wanted him to live so badly.
It doesn't matter at all where that physical object is. What would it matter if a person possessed it?
What function does it really provide to a person that allows them to accomplish or achieve anything? The art world is built upon a foundation of value that is purely intrinsic.
To the person who could or would possess the GOLD SKULL of RAMBO, would the $1,000,000 or 1,000,000,000 really be any kind of currency in relation to what the GOLD SKULL is?
All the wealth in the world cannot possess the GOLD SKULL because the force that created it appeared for a time in a human form and then returned to the universe transformed into another.
The pain that grows and changes into the art we allow it to become is the GOLD SKULL.

Day Eins: Bear with me
This plan to have a blog started in 2006. Over the years, I have toyed around with the idea. It only strengthened after reading Austin Kleon's"Show Your Work" and "Steal Like An Artist".
Not that this is my first blog idea. I started and shut around half a dozen blogs before this. In 2006, I opened a blog to rant. And another to write lyrics for my future emo-punk band.  In 2016, I started a travel writing blog with a friend that saw some success (mainly because of the said friend's writing) and in 2019, I started a space to write short stories. But I got bored with some and hated how I sounded in others.
***
The other day, at the Animela's Opening Ceremony, I watched "Sultana's Dream" by the Spanish director Isabel Herguera. I was fascinated by the illustrations and the storytelling. And one of the illustrators turned out to be Rajiv Eipe.
youtube
I came across Rajiv Eipe's work on Storyweaver / Pratham in 2019. In 2022, I got my hands on the Maithili and the Minotaur series (Book 1) / (Book 2) that he made with CG Salamander. Some illustrators write bios, and then there's Mr Eipe. He draws bios. The guy starts pencilling even before the book begins. He's crazy.
Tumblr media
And just this last week, I was blown away by his drawings in the latest Bijal Vachharajan's book "When Fairyland Lost Its Magic".
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I saw his name in the credits of this fantabulously crafted, award-winning movie, I knew I had found another hero.
A few weeks back, Parvathy and I got on a call to bring each other up to date with life's going-ons (or whine about stuff - same, same) and throw some worldly wisdom at each other when we came up with this plan of starting a daily sketching session to get into the habit of drawing every day. (She documented our sessions in her post, here.) A day after the post, Aditi joined us. Now SketchyBunch consists of three of us, drawing together over Google Meet while discussing other illustrators, cats, true-crime shows and podcasts, ad agencies and weather (of course).
One day, Parvathy brought up the blog of Rebecca Green and the subject of a vision board. The same day, Aditi was sketching from a photograph of a common sighting that we easily miss. Last evening, heading home from my second visit to the incredible Bombay Tilts Down screening (more on this later, I promise), I thought of starting with a blog (again) to narrate my weekly activities and/or learnings.
So this is day eins of documenting whatever is worth documenting. It helps me keep track of whatever the fuck that I'm up to and hold myself accountable.
***
Presently, my days commence with online yoga sessions with Salima. Apart from being one of the best teachers, she's an inspiration for a healthy existence. (Also, if you think it's impossible to learn Yoga on Zoom, I bet you haven't taken a class with Adyashakti yet!) And then, with SketchyBunch, I start work on a new drawing.
Preview of the latest piece:
Tumblr media
Working title: Bear in a soup. (The title will evolve along with the progress of the drawing.)

I interviewed Meituan, Kuaishou, Alibaba, Baidu, Didi, and Byte to tell you which group the big companies like the most.
Tumblr media
In the workplace, we will go through many interviews. With the help of interviews, we will discover some of our own HE Tuber problems. This article combines the interview experience of different factories to show and introduce the experience one by one. I hope it will be helpful to you.
1. The origin of sharing
From June to October of 2023, I had no solution for career planning and future development. I hoped to establish connections with higher-level people, but because there was no particularly suitable channel, I had to rely on interviews to continue to help. Diagnose the problem by yourself, discover the problem, iterate on the understanding, and strive for new job opportunities. I will introduce the experience one by one according to the interview experience of different factories. The first is to review my own past; the second is to refine the interview ideas of large factories for reference. reader.
The order of the entire article is: self-awareness, the needs of big companies for interviewers, and what I gained from interviews with different companies.
2. Self-introduction
I have been engaged in Internet-related work since I graduated with a master's degree in 2016. The company that first accepted me was a company listed on the New Third Board, and I started my internship in April. Later, by various coincidences, I finally got a job opportunity from a big factory. I started working in a big factory in 2017. In 2017, 2018, and 2019, my job roles covered data products, data analysts, and back-end products.
Since the beginning of 20 years, I have focused on content understanding and content strategy. Content understanding based on the perspective of first-line manufacturers is more inclined to the role of screws. A clear division of labor means clear goals. What is practiced is collaboration and the ability to dismantle problems to the smallest atoms. Granular capabilities, but far away from the real business line, always make me feel like a blind man is trying to figure out the elephant. The specific questions are as follows:
First, the work content is overly segmented and can only focus on a very vertical ecological perspective.
The content understanding I do occurs in the content center, and the content center distinguishes many directions, such as content understanding, content recommendation, content growth, content e-commerce (interest e-commerce), etc., and I can clearly list them. Uploading, editing, and publishing the entire link from one video comes from the perspective of the content ecosystem, but it is difficult for me to explain clearly how these videos are consumed on the recommendation side and the growth side. What linkages will there be with cooperative departments, such as e-commerce and local business, how will their strategies be broken down into specific corresponding actions, and how to prepare.
Second, the long-term implementation of specific front-line actions lacks the vision of macro-structure and dismantling.
Focusing on issues arising from high-level decision-making and using only very limited energy to do things that are important and recognized from one's own perspective. This will result in - I understand the process from macro-structure to implementation, but instead ignore the process from A more complete and macro-directional dismantling perspective. And the blind spot of the perspective of going from high to low, from execution to high level, caused me to encounter greater troubles when striving for a higher level of development. There is no direction and no focus.
Third, the uncertainty brought by the work itself is not stable enough from the psychological level and is seriously involution.
In the middle and late stages of the epidemic, the Internet industry as a whole was in a slump, and even the jobs being opened by major companies were becoming scarcer. Looking within the company, upward channels were also scarcer. However, my overall career plan is not very clear. In other words, although I have a goal, the direction and motivation of dismantling are not moving towards the goal. Under the objective environment, it is very troublesome. Is my career in the Internet finally coming to an end? Excluding the company's halo, how much is its value in the market?
Based on the above reasons, I decided to distance myself from work, work in a completely stress-free state for a period of time, and then seek a new opportunity for my next job.
1. Resume section
As of the time to submit my resume, I have been working for less than 7 years. Based on my past experience in three major companies, I listed my project experience and work performance from the three perspectives of content strategy, platform capabilities, and data products, and used the star rule to list myself. The core tasks, roles played, values realized, and capabilities for growth in each project.
Listed as a whole, I feel that my obvious role transition stages are: analyst with simple tasks , independently designed products for small projects , products responsible for the core data indicators within the team , products responsible for core business and core strategies , and leading strategies for most industries. product . Based on this kind of thinking, when sorting out the self-introduction part, I used a large structure as the output tone. When introducing each past experience, I looked at the big picture. First, I looked at the background of the company's project, and then confirmed my role at the time and the meaning of the division of labor. , output the value of income, which not only enriches the value of personal introduction in the resume, but also makes a good opening statement during the interview stage.
2. Advantages and disadvantages
For domestic students, especially those before 1995, they are particularly embarrassed to directly introduce their strengths to others. Correspondingly, when talking about their weaknesses, they are even more worried about being challenged by interviewers. me either.
Calmly deal with your own strengths and weaknesses, and you should not just prepare very official words for the outside world. There are also a lot of clichés in the templates on XHS. Before I really knew myself, I would also copy some classic textbooks, but I found that every time If the questioner's method of questioning changes, my interpretation will change, which will cause corresponding changes in my understanding of myself during the continuous interview process. Based on this, I specifically consulted a professional Gallup coach and made a complete personal assessment. Based on my strengths, I understood them as several strengths that turned into talents, and how to leverage strengths and avoid weaknesses through relative weaknesses.
Finally, the answer to this question was confirmed - the process of allowing the interviewer to get to know me more deeply, understand who I am, what I can do, and what parts of me are comfortable in doing these things. What are the parts of the problem that I need the support of the team for, and what are the parts that I can overcome independently. After answering with this kind of thinking, the interviewer will feel that his eyes are brightened. At least the person opposite is "sober".
Next is some interview experience and summary. I just list some interview questions that are meaningful from my point of view. They may not fully represent the overall level of the company’s interviewers. They are only for students who want to pay attention to

ESG Trends Reshaping the Life Science Analytics Industry
Business goals in the healthcare and medical sectors are increasingly linked with big data, so much so that life science analytics has become a major proponent of environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices. At a time when life science companies are painstakingly emphasizing the manufacturing and distribution of medicines, research and development and innovation, sustainable reporting has become instrumental in solidifying their brand positions. ESG reporting can be the silver bullet to retain talent and drive business results with a positive influence on society and the best possible outcome for all.
A concerted and sustainable effort to expedite replacement, reduction and refinement to foster new research models, approaches and tools has panned well. Several organizations are banking on diversity to minimize attrition rates and employees who prioritize environmental issues and social factors for good health. Furthermore, policymakers, consumers, employees, investors and venture capitalists have prioritized transparency, leadership behavior, opportunities and pay parity.
IBM Views Sustainability as Vehicle to Drive Business
Business leaders have fostered their roles in the environment portfolio to bolster carbon footprint monitoring and develop recycling initiatives. Life science companies are poised to play an invaluable role in combating climate change. The 2021 UN Climate Change Conference (COP26)—Glasgow Climate Pact—has potentially encouraged companies to move towards a low-carbon and more sustainable path. IBM will use renewable sources to procure 75% of its global electricity consumption by 2025, the giant mentioned in its 2022 ESG report. The company is also committed to implementing at least 3,000 new energy conservation projects to offset the consumption of 275,000 MWh of energy from 2021 through 2025.
With IBM expecting to reach net-zero operational GHG emissions by 2030, it has addressed market-based scope 1 and 2 emissions and scope 3 emissions (linked with electricity consumption) at third-party co-location data centers. Besides, the technology behemoth pegged its weighted average power usage effectiveness (PUE) at 1.52 in 2022 vis-à-vis 1.552 PUE (baseline) in 2019. Commitment to environmental leadership has received an impetus, creating a path to reduce climate-related risks.

Wipro and Novartis Up Social Commitment to Turn ESG Goals into Actions
Employees and consumer safety are pivotal to further sustainable goals as companies foster social targets to underpin the business strategy. So much so that ESG-themed bond has become pronounced to make drugs more accessible to everyone. In September 2020, Novartis reportedly became the first pharma company to issue a sustainability-linked bond at EUR 1.85 billion (USD 2.2 billion) to impel patient reach in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The company is bullish on augmenting patient reach in LMICs through strategic innovative therapies by 200% by 2025.
Wipro underpinned its social profile with an infusion of funds into an inclusive and diverse culture that fosters sustainable performance. The Indian giant has implemented buoyant policies to attract and retain LGBTQ+ employees. It has apparently revised group mediclaim insurance and the medical insurance scheme to include same-sex partners of employees. In February 2021, Wipro was named in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index (CEI)—the U.S. corporate policies and practices pertaining to LGBT workplace equality. Cultivating a culture of inclusion will sow the seed of a plurality of ideas and embrace all forms of differences.
Accenture Invests in Board Diversity to Pave Path with Vision and Value
Gender-diverse boards are widely linked with better engagement, increased investment efficiency and increased work-life balance. The trend toward transparent disclosure and creating an equitable environment can be contagious. Accenture infers that 50% of its board of directors is women, while 50% is racially and ethnically diverse. The company's 2021 U.S. workforce data reveal that it has fostered the number of Asia Americans and Asia executives by 3.5 percentage points. The service company is gearing up to achieve its 2025 goals of boosting representation of Black, African American, Hispanic American and Latinx among its leadership and workforce. Forward-looking companies are expected to uphold sound corporate governance practices to ramp up their ESG objectives.
Amid medical device, pharmaceutical and diagnostic regulatory scenarios changing, top-performing companies are poised to inject funds into sustainable goals. Tax transparency, for instance, is invaluable to building trust among stakeholders. Plastic packaging tax in the U.K. came into force in April 2022, with the charge pegged at £210.82 per ton from 1 April 2023 on plastic packaging with less than 30% recycled plastic, imported or manufactured into the U.K.
Price transparency in hospitals has gained a considerable uptick, a compelling portfolio to raise the ESG bar. In January 2021, each hospital functioning in the U.S. have been required to offer accessible and clear pricing information online about services and items. With the ESG pressure compelling businesses to enhance their sustainable value chain, Grand View Research forecasts the global life science analytics market to exhibit a 7.7% CAGR between 2022 to 2030.

12/19/2023 - Day 1083 of Presentation
Five years ago, on a cold and dreary winter day, I went on a virtual lark of this amazing planet, scanning the ground for meteor impact craters, and taking snapshots of interesting places to visit someday,... and life,... became much more interesting, for me.
Originally,... I was brought to a virtual standstill, by an object, which resembled after 'connecting-the-dots' - a boat - in a desert! After some time spent staring at it,... I took a look at some very OLD maps, and saw, going back far enough - there were rivers shown, painted in, where my object was sitting. Using the map date, and projecting a couple hundred years into the future, I looked at the hulls of ALL the ships that had been built, and Google could show,..   and the closest shape I could see - was that of - a 15th C. caravel(?!) (This was my educated guess, I may be wrong,) but speaking that pronouncement out loud (and to myself), caused me instantly to react, - and I reached out to a local university, in the hope of developing an amazing, expedition searching for a boat wreck - on dry land,... While I had shipwreck dreams in my head, and waiting for the professor's response to my email, I went and reviewed the other images that I had  'snap-shot' that day. That - is 'when' - my life changed - forever. What I saw,... I felt the need to share. I immediately found myself, sitting down, writing fantastical-sounding words, that I seriously, realistically, wanted to honestly, relay/impart/ and share to/ and with - 'everyone'. By the end of March, 2019, the bulk of my words were written, and I was ready to take my 'construct' to a web development firm out in the 'world-at-large'. I waited until April 1st, was over, (for obvious reasons),... and on 2nd of April, 2019, I reached out into the world, and shared my ideas and intentions for the first time, with a website building firm, located on the opposite side of the planet from me, in India, (to try to be egalitarian). The firm was tasked with working 'in the dark' regarding my Intel property. The stringent dictate of 'not knowing' what I was working to build and impart, and my newness to the business world, found me, repeatedly, reiterating 'my vision' - over, and over, and over - to the folk on the other side of the phone, (it cumulatively - honed my vision), and the words expressing what I would like the site to accomplish. Unfortunately, at the end of 2019, I parted ways with that firm, after an email 'faux pas' on their part, (that was quite unfortunate), but which caused me to blow my gasket and sever ties, with not much more to show for it, other than my MUCH deeper 'understanding' of what I was wanting for my website, how to look and function.
I then turned state-side for assistance, working with freelancers, for four months before, COVID intruded and caused them to bow out for a health pause. It was during this period that my wonderful, geriatric nurse trained mother, passed away, in terrible, anguishing pain, due to the multiple failures of her peers. (The tale of her demise is too rich in soul-enflaming, terribly-traumatic details, for me to relay in this message. Perhaps I will rip that scab off, another day, and tell everyone of the grave injustice done to her. She was robbed by her peers - a victim of criminal neglect. She was the embodiment of LOVE, and such a tragic, unnecessary loss,) With my mom passing, I was thrown into a great funk. It was she who listened to me first - (and she didn't flinch). She had been my sounding board, my hug-sharer, and my business sponsor. She had believed in me when others did not. (I had envisioned sending my parents on world travel trips, with my project successfully concluded, but,... then,... she was gone, and the 'dreams' for my folks together, 'seeing the world', were dashed to pieces.) But, now,... because I had verbally and textually, re-explained/repeated, what I had wanted of my website, for so many times to the folk in India - the freelancers were to quick 'shape the details, and I had my pages rudimentarily shaped,... when COVID,... took them offline. The THIRD firm to come online, Word Press - was the charm! (Thank you, folk at Blue Sky!)    On the last day of 2020, at 12PGMT,... I sent out Twitter Tweets to 74 News agencies; 10 Specialty Orgs., (such as Smithsonian and National Geographic); and 63 billionaires or their foundational Twitter accounts; and then I turned my website - 'On'. Presenting the Intellectual property information, in an engaging and constructive fashion, to the elite like a Nieman-Marcus Christmas catalogue gift idea. An 'Opportunity for the Ages'. I was SOOO - impressed with myself, and floating on a cloud for what I was managing, that I became blind to a glaring error that was only discovered - on Day 580! My company name Unique Destinations Enterprise was spelled wrong, (in the Header, Footer, and Copyright. It was spelled 'Enterprize'!!!) (So much for trying to convince the uber wealthy, the veracity, of my unique opportunity!) I had intended that the website to be accessible by anyone - for free. I made it readable in 104 languages and spoken English voice, for those with literacy or vision issues. Before the auction concluded, I managed to post an AUDIO Back Story, retelling of the Origin story, that I give to my new website helpers before they can do any work for me, and sharing my spoken words, in 22 subtitled language videos, 1Hour:5 min in length.
I wanted to reach everyone, who might wish to seek, casting a wide net,... (but folk became/stayed, shy even after the spelling error was corrected.) My GPS Auction construct lasted for 775 days, ending on Valentine's Day, at High Noon, 2023, without anyone taking it up, forcing me to turn to Plan 'B'. Plan 'B' is more like a ballet of many parts and partners. I have contacted folk in NASA and the U.S. Congress, I still need to involve advice of attorneys, before impartation can take place. To what result, you may ask? (I'm trying for a fairytale ending, '... and they all lived, happily ever after.' I seek to impart what I learned - to share it - with my fellow humanity. (And empower myself, of course (as is fit a fairy tale)), to evolve to serve as a philanthropist, helping others, with my economic windfall - (yet to be manifested.) I am striving to steer 'the dialogue' in a fruitful, and 'constructive' fashion, that may best maximize - positive outcomes, regarding human society. As such, it behooves my construct, that the minds that approach it, are rational, logical, inquisitive, and open. What I would share is information, that conveys a need, to be more 'cogent' and receptive, to the changes necessary of us all, and gives the call to start the work to uplift each other, and help actualize those intellectual, and social leaps, into Humanity 2.0. Recently, family members have asked when I will put an end, to my 'nonsensical' activities, and move on. For five years, I can only take, momentary pauses to question, before I answer myself, and I go back to work, comfortable in my knowledge. I have a choice, I could walk away, but,... why? - I can't! So, I stay in my boat, rowing in the deep blue sea, thinking about the fish I want to land. Wondering if I need a bigger boat? (Dreaming about a Silent 80, tri-deck,... sigh!)
For five years I have walked two worlds - the mundane and the NONMUNDANE. I have: 'seen the light'; seen my mother die; I saw Notre Dame and the rainforests burn; I've cared for my aged father; I've looked at castles and submarines; held an Art auction; dealt with repeated floods; a global pandemic; spilled coffee; Clogged sinks and toilets; strange Russian phone call. I have battled billionaires, and left them perplexed; I have blocked thousands in admonishment, on Twitter, and on TikTok - fighting for skies and waves of BLUE, with whatever cache or mojo, that I possess with my 'knowledge'. I've been petitioned by the folk behind Robot Chicken wanting my house in a film. (I thought it was a sneaky scam. Turned out to be real! Oops!) My loss!  - But I still have my saucer - (and the caravel.) - (And my mugs.) - I apologize the mugs weren't available for this season's holidays, I had an issue with a fraudulent charge to the account that I used in my company store, and I must wait till new cards were issued. - How simply mundane is that. For five years, I have stayed apart from those I would usually interact, or those I would desire, to have, in close proximity. I have become a little like Howard Hughes, quirky, and 'outside'. I have courted famous people in a dunderheaded-way, by not answering my phone, waiting for folk to leave messages (which they never do, with the exception of Russian lady robo-call from Lexington, KY)   I thought 2023 was a perfectly, odd-enough year, for me to tell the world - my 'amazing' marvelous tale,... but as it appears,... it is 2024 - to be, just right, for even, Stephen. - (Cross-fingers.) Knowing what I do, seeing what I have,... I have become a vocal proponent for a world that aims for betterment. To best digest my novel conceptualizations, it takes some amount of time. Turning the world - takes some time. It took me two years, to write the words and pull back 'the Curtain', and this coming New Year's Eve, will mark 3 years - since I did that! Five years ago, I was just an 'above-average' bozo.
Stay tuned - for more!

Robotized Retail Look at Terminal Furnished with artificial intelligence Programming
Basler made a live showing of a mechanized retail look at terminal furnished with man-made intelligence programming. The implanted vision framework rapidly distinguishes and orders items in a shopping bushel, and shows the estimating. This demo demonstrates the way that consolidating simulated intelligence and lean inserted vision frameworks can prompt inventive implanted applications that work on our day to day existence.
1. Outline Implanted vision innovation decreases, all the more remarkable and subsequently empowers an abundance of new applications that depend on little size, low power utilization and low expenses. One of the numerous regions where installed innovation can assist with computerizing and improve on processes is retail.
Among the frameworks that will assist with making the shoppin experience more straightforward are self-checkout frameworks. Today thosesystems ordinarily utilize 2D standardized identification scanners to identify and record items on transport lines.
Later frameworks utilize customary article characterization strategies (utilizing highlights like tone or type) to guarantee exact distinguishing proof of item includes. These strategies are not powerful when sent in uncontrolled conditions where different light and calculation conditions happen.
Those issues can be stayed away from while adding artificial intelligence to the framework: With most recent artificial intelligence innovation it is feasible to distinguish items without scanner tags in a consistent climate and scale up the item portfolio effectively on the fly. The test while building such a framework is to consolidate the best of two universes: simulated intelligence and lean installed vision frameworks. Basler planned this verification of idea to show the advantages and conceivable outcomes of this new innovation
2. Arrangement For the implanted world tradeshow 2019, Basler made - fully supported by their nearby organization with NXPSemiconductors - a live show of a computerized retail checkout terminal furnished with simulated intelligence programming. The implanted vision framework rapidly distinguishes and groups items in a shopping container, and presentations the valuing. Clients can choose what to place in their bushels, and the prepared brain network then distinguishes the items in view of a video transfer - correspondingly to how face acknowledgment functions - lastly the all out evaluating is shown.
2.1 Equipment
The man-made intelligence retail arrangement depends on the impending new Basler Implanted Vision Pack. This best in class edge handling framework comprises of
„ dart BCON for MIPI camera module from Basler with ON Semiconductor's AR1335 sensor
„ i.MX 8QuadMax SoC from NXP
„ i.MX 8QuadMax based handling board
„ SMARC 2.0 transporter board
The total demo arrangement is near a certifiable application and integrates all vision important variables
2.2 Programming The product for this arrangement comprises of two significant parts: the framework programming and the application programming. To make such an installed framework run as expected, various components of the framework programming should be associated with make an intelligent framework. Basler involved its long involvement with various programming fields to interface programming components like BSPs, NXP's Yocto bit and to make a high-performing and lean installed framework.
The second piece of the arrangement's product is the application programming. The product depends on a custom Convolutional Brain Organization (CNN) by Irida labs. The model utilized depends on the most recent profound learning and edge handling strategies, to give quick and hearty reaction in a consistent situation. The preparation of the CNN happens on the host side however the derivation happens on the edge.
2.3 Benefits of this arrangement
This arrangement offers a strong framework with a ton of benefits.
„ This framework is versatile. Items can be added without any problem to the framework: a host-sided preparing considers a simple organization to the edge frameworks utilizing IoT innovation
„ This strong framework is improved for vision, has high exactness and a quick surmising time „ Equipment is industry-demonstrated and durable
„ Cost-effective, lean plan due to inserted and IoT innovation
„ Little structure factor takes into consideration different combination choices
„ Retail locations benefit from lower work costs as well as altogether further developed client experience through moment checkouts, limited lines and 100 percent checkout limit consistently, in any event, when the shop is open all day, every day
3. End While making this arrangement, one of Basler's pivotal errands was to unite all pertinent accomplices and to consolidate the various components to make an ideal arrangement. With Installed Vision Arrangements by Basler, the client has a solitary contact that deals with all pertinent coordination.
What's more, Basler deals with streamlining every framework for vision prerequisites and making various parts cooperate consistently. With the high adaptability that is important to make such a situation, Basler is the right accomplice to make complex implanted vision arrangements.

Government assistance of the Web of Things
Web of Things has advanced from meeting up of miniature electromechanical frameworks, remote innovations, miniature administrations and the web. This assembly has helped with tearing the storehouse walls among the functional innovation and the data innovation, empowering unstructured machine-created information for dissecting the experiences which drive upgrades. The IoT is straightforward: everything no doubt revolves around associating gadgets through web, permitting them to address us, to the applications, and with one another.
Tumblr media
Over the most recent few years, much has been discussed the sensors, cameras, and different gadgets that will be associated dramatically in the Web of Things (IoT). What's more, the immense measure of pay expected as far as trillions of dollars of monetary worth that is being remembered to rise out of it. However the eventual fate of the IoT might be invigorating, yet a significant part of the business informing has gone over the heads of individuals who don't grasp a thing of the IoT. Furthermore, these individuals work plants, organizations, and organizations and are additionally responsible for the arrangement of the IoT-based arrangements. Financial backers miracle to see the state and think what is genuine, and what is the advertised up vision of the IoT-based eventual fate of businesses soon.
During the most recent couple of years, associations across the globe have begun showing interest in IoT innovation. Ordinary modern associations are figuring out how to adjust the obsolete cycles of assembling. Likewise, the entire range of youthful inventive new companies are rethinking the old ideas and suppositions. It guarantees that the upsides of IoT innovation won't keep it much distant from the ongoing situation. It is being carried out now in a hurry.
As indicated by reports, before the year's over, 2008 number of 'things' were associated with the Web than simple individuals as the clients of Web. Also, it is anticipated that before the year's over 2020, the count will go a lot of high. The quantity of things straightforwardly associated with the Web will arrive at 50 billion roughly. It is assessed that the general benefits because of this fast move will be around $19 trillion. The period will see immense expense reserve funds coming from the IoT over the approaching 10 years.
The idea of associated homes will turn into a significant benefactor in the Web of Things. Researchers express that before the year's over 2019, organizations might bring roughly 1.9 billion home gadgets associated with the Web into the market. This will add about $490 billion to their incomes. The tech monsters like Google and Samsung are now known players on the lookout. Google effectively made an arrangement to purchase shrewd indoor regulator producer Home Labs for $3.2 billion out of 2015. What's more, Samsung procured the IoT firm SmartThings for an arrangement worth $200 million.
Right now, we have not many shrewd gadgets being utilized in our everyday lives. A considerable lot of the IoT shrewd gadgets are not being utilized essentially in our homes or telephones. Most of brilliant advancements and IoT gadgets are utilized in processing plants, corporates, and medical care associations. Yet, the review uncovers that before the year's over 2025, the value of the worldwide use of IoT innovation will ascend to as much as $6.2 trillion. Furthermore, medical care industry will share the most noteworthy rate in it. It is approximated that Medical services industry will add to around $2.5 trillion and production industry will make $2.3 trillion roughly.
Do you think about how these innovation organizations will board progressing and get everything rolling on the IoT drive? Research says that the basic thought ought to be to begin with a little and unmistakable task that will upgrade the skill and efficiency in the presently existing cycles. Various little and enormous associations have gone for moves toward stroll into the IoT pattern and prevailed in the way.

The following are not many tips that will be useful to lead an organization to the IoT venture.
Associated business Think about the notable American bike producer Harley Davidson. It is uncovered that exclusively by associating the significant tasks and hardware in their creation cycle on one of their organizations, Harley-Davidson raised its efficiency by around 80%. It has decreased its work to-arrange cycle from the length of year and a half to just fourteen days, in this manner developing its general benefit by almost 3%-4%.
Remote access An Indian dairy organization began noticing the coolers in its frozen yogurt stores from remote access, gave cautions during breakdowns like blackouts. The organization dissected and presumed that in no less than a month's time it understood a restitution and a five times profit from its genuine interest in a time span of 13 months.
Prescient examination The telecom goliath Cisco has utilized sensors and energy examination programming in its modern plants and diminished its utilization of energy by practically 15% to 20%.
Prescient protecting Rio Tinto, a worldwide mining organization, utilizes sensors to notice the condition of its vehicles, spot the upkeep prerequisites inside time, before it transforms into issues, and figures out how to save $2 million every day on the off chance that a breakdown is kept away from.
