so I'm doing a thing where I write daily and around the last week of December I compiled 31 one 1-5 word prompts and NOW ITS ALMOST DONE

For one, this is a testament to my self-proclaimed 'I can't commit to shit' and now I CAN HAHA IN YOUR FACE PAST ME

But the bad part is now I'm almost out lmao I don't really wanna take prompts from like, Febuwhump cause I just wanna do whatever the hell I want without a ton of constraits (atm cause idk if I'd be able to keep this up if I limited myself) (see: last summer where I tried to write daily and make it at least a word longer than the previous day) (It crashed and burned cause I was like "lmao no wdym you can't commit to shit LOSER)

hiii bb thanks for askingg the presentation went okay it was pretty brief lol i just had to present for something my PI has been researching haha it only took like fifteen minutes

OUU my job is so boring but yes i will indeed yap about it. yeah so i think my day to day varies a lot but i'm a research assistant n help out the doctorates/post doctorates with prepping things for their research so it's like. grunt work LOL but yeah stuff like purifying proteins (i purify a lot of fruit fly proteins since that's the model organism the biochem phd students i work with use) it's just a lot of pipetting and chromatography to make a bunch of little samples that the grad students can use to run their experiments!! some other stuff i do often is do plasmid transformation with agar plates, usually for the botany grad student i work w since he's researching transgenic plants for sustainable agriculture (his research is my faveee it's srs so interesting n he has like a whole walk-in plant chamber at work it's so cute lol) but anyway most of making agar plates is just......suspending n then centrifuging n then suspending n centrifuging SFKJSHL it's boring. yeah n then making buffer solutions, restocking other equipment n calibrating machines, all that stuff

that's kinda 50% of what i do where i'm on my feet, but the rest of it i'm just at my desk n helping my PI w proofreading his research notes bc he doesn't know english very well so i help him out w that even tho technically it's not part of my actual job LOL but it helps me get more hours in at least bc otherwise i'd be working very less. i only have two other coworkers w the same role as me so we try to split up work so my PI doesn't realize it's a one person job n fires two of us but sometimes there isn't much work to split hahah or one of us just accidentally does too much n then the next time i go in im like...there's nothing to do SDJKFHSDK it's kind of case by case cuz the grad students are really bad at telling us what they want us to do ahead of time lol. but still all in all it's pretty cool n def more chill than the hospital jobs i've worked haha

pay is a bit better than most part time jobs for sure, i get $24/hr (idc ab wage transparency hahah) and i work around 25 hrs a week. i used to work a different job after i graduated from july-december of last year that was full time but it was tooooo far from home i had zero work life balance so i just switched to this one n yea it's less hours but that's ok, tbh i kinda wanted a bit of a break before i go back to school and the lighter schedule has been nice. i think it's really helped w my post grad burnout sfkshdkfjd

why auscap.. whys he australian… i need to know this lore.. it keeps me up at night

glad u asked because im so insane but everyone* i talk to just accepts auscap without question and it hnngngh

so for a little backstory it started in september last year** when i went away with a family friend who had also watched centricide and i asked "wouldnt it be funny if ancap centricide was australian" and there wasnt a single thought behind our eyes when we unaimoiusly agreed yes that would be funny and que the next 2 or so months of being the most annoying headcanoner ever but hey it was fun.

at the same time i was in 9th grade english class in australia and our topic was poetry analysis of silly bogans pre/during the gold rush and the more we analysed the more i was like "hey this shits kinda like ancap centricide" because idk if you have ever been in an australian english/history class but theres a lot of talk about the "[white] australian identity" mainly around when brits began moving here outside of sendign their convicts and during ww1. and the australian identity is mostly centred around being somewhat anti authoritarian and while not technically based in capitalism it was about rich british people getting a taste of the bush and not shutting up ever

because of [white] australias history being in the convicts sent over from england theres an intrinsic sense of anti authoritarianism that was albiet a lot more common in the 19th and 20th centuries but i digress its still relevant idc because it was used in these little bushmen shit where they would idolise this life living outside the government at the time

so the poem that we used for the exam at the end of year 9 english unit 4, while i dont rember the name of the poem nor the writer, i do remember what it was about and what it was about was this guy writing for 6 fucking pages about the bush and how it was so cool and literally made for him he loves it so much and at the back of the pages there was a little biography of the author and you find out that this fucking guy hadnt stepped foot in australia before turning thirty, hes some rich fucking english bloke who came over for the gold rush and left almost immediatly after. the poem we were analysing came from a guy who had never even seen the bush !!! and idk i think thats pretty ancap core

and for a last round of background info from september-november 2021 i actually dmed jreg back n forth about it and ended up getting jrem to confirm auscap as real, and it was real for a whole month before the gender tier list stream on twitch where i asked and jre said that ideologies cant have nationalities um !!! thats not what u told me in dms !!!! also i didnt have any socials at the time that interacted with the centricide fandom apart from my discord so if u were in the authunity server i am NOT sorry for being so annoying about it

Aw, it's okay. These ones about the name weren't really that nasty and it could be a lot worse but I guess I don't really see the point in saying something negative about a name I chose when that clearly isn't constructive criticism. I like the name and I like its reference/meaning so that's really all that matters.

And yes, there was a vote! It was almost tied between Oliver and Wesley but Wesley won. I like Oliver too but I can't really see Daryl's son named Oliver for some reason, I can see Wes tho.

And yeah Westley is not a common name in America either which is why I kind of liked it. I like names that are actual names (like not completely made up by the parents) but are still kind of unique/rare/old-fashioned, and Westley comes from an Old English surname so that's about as old-fashioned as it gets. I understand it being a little weird to people in non-English speaking countries for sure, but I think with fanfiction people have to realize that not everything is catered towards the reader, since that would literally be impossible to do lol. It's my story, my decisions. I might ask for opinions from time to time, but ultimately, this is my blog where I write what I like, and if you don't like the name, you don't have to read it, or imagine some other name if you want idc. It's really not a big deal, and I shouldn't feed into it and make it a big deal but I am just kinda like that lol.

As a baby she would get startled quite easily but was very easy to calm down. Once she learned how to crawl (and ofc eventually walk) she loved following people around (it didn’t matter who it was just entertaining for her) almost like a shadow at times. But she also enjoyed wondering off by herself—not very far or crazy adventures tho she typically only likes wondering off to rooms with toys and stuff.

FACE family dynamic (if you would like this is something you could take or leave) where America and Canada are (/are like) older brothers to her.

She also has a younger sister, Beatrice Soline Kirkland-Bonnefoy. Anastasie was physically and mentally around 5 when Beatrice was born, although she was already a couple decades old (aging more like nations).

They were both created by Penny, but not just to be extra defensive weapons for W.O.M.P. ; if anything, Penny found it to be a good excuse to add some extra members to the family.

They’re the twins of the family!! (Fidget only being 30 minutes younger technically due to the early testing & waking was done on Digit first)

(Speaking of, once they were tested in a small room for their first 1 on 1 meeting, Fidget introduced himself to Digit using morse code..he was still very unsure which language was his default)

Although they have the data to know every language, some of their mains are as listed: English, Español, Français, Sign language, Morse code, and Binary code.

(They like to scare Nozzaire sometimes with them knowing french)

Aside from most of their traits being taken off by Gadget, they both have they’re own unique personalities that bounce off of each other naturally.

This was given to them via a unique AI chip she created personally; making the robots being able to feel. One chip has much more intense power than the other, making them individual.

She also downloaded them with as much old & recent info she could by the time they were fresh, giving them a mouthful of knowledge all ranging from history to pop culture; a century full at best.

Because of this, they have the mentality of 20 year olds (Ranging from 20 to 25) having them act reasonable when needed, and a little immature when overwhelmed.

Both robots are agender!!

Digit believes since they’re not human they aren’t as deserving of being put under a specific umbrella; even with pronouns given to them.

Fidget also feels they don’t fit under certain categories, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t embrace it. If anything, he’s the most to experiment with different clothing whenever given the chance.

From the beginning to the end of GATG, their skeleton has been updated CONSTANTLY for some sort of improvement. With extra tweaking being done as well from another character (wink wink), this is what their functions look on the inside for now.

The main middle surface has been heavily influenced from “The Ultimate Weapon”, where the aftermath has left Digit overwhelmed with a system like that overall, while Fidget still thought it was extremely stimulating.

(Digit still finds Fidget really gross for liking to eat)

To replace the stomach, a little storage cabinet was built inside Digit for a much comfortable fit; in addition giving him more room to collect random objects.

Fidget on the other hand got a whole update to the first stomach model; it now consisted of an elastic bag filled with much stronger acid, stronger than a humans at least (Battery acid). The size of it has increased as well, a request from Fidget really so he can spend more time stuffing himself without feeling discomfort.

Cushions are for extra defense around their gadgets & differentiating middle areas.

(The cushions and middle hatches both have separate openings, meaning the cushions can act like “skin” whenever it’s only the hatches open)

(Fidget enjoys having his stomach rubbed because of this)

(It’s also better defense for Digit overall if the cushions so happened to break if the evidence is spiked. 2 layers is honestly like a backup for him)

The smaller storage unit was implemented from “Claw’s Collection”, basically a little area where the gadgetinis can store small objects such as magnets or chip pieces.

The Danger sensor evolved more into a heart chip for them, taken from “No Such Thing As Ghosts”, usually from it intensifying whenever the both of them stumble upon something “frightening” & what not.

The speakers are a way the gadgetinis are able to take in and hear information: from them being hunks of metal to begin with, they don’t exactly have proper ear drums..Fidget experiences a lot of distortion from one of his speakers being loose though.

The Poison/Gad identifier & AI chip’s are just fun additions!! The chips giving the gadgetinis more “realistic” interactions, and the identifier making it more easy to see if something’s been spiked or if the air was being poisoned.

(At least thats a easy way 2 make sure their stoves don’t explode)

They’re body parts consist out of heavy metal, and water proof wire coating. This makes them both bullet proof indestructible to water..they still don’t dare to breathe water in due to the risk of their circuiting inside.

But even with these in mind, they’re still at huge risk if they ever get electrocuted, or overheat. They’re circulating can easily go haywire, and have them be broken for a good while.

They both weight 300 pounds respectively (Fidget only weighing 35 more) from all of the wiring & metal connected,,no way would they weight lightly.

(No way IN HELL am I listing off all of their gadgets,,,they showcase a new one every episode & that’s a whole different list on its own. I can say though all the main apartment’s are in they’re arms, legs, hat, and middle)

To start off, he focuses more on the role of being a robot more intensely than his brother.

Maybe a little too much as well..he’s extremely insecure when it comes to failure or flaws within his work or actions overall.

(He’s the type to sit and ponder on situations that don’t go as good as he hoped; not reacting as intense physically, but would probably stay quiet for a good couple of days until he feel the needs to vent.)

It’s a main reason why he bickers about Fidget & his “human” feelings, a self indulgent problem.

He bases his whole personality off of being servile, so showing or feeling genuine emotion has him think he’s imperfect in some way; easily beating himself over it.

(He’s probably envied another robot & their strengths before.)

Him overthinking about it in general also has him thinking it’s something he shouldn’t be doing, so he usually masks it with a nonchalant, strict, or sarcastic attitude.

With these attitudes he’s started to like the feeling of being praised more often, but he never gets selfish about it..he just gloats a lot.

Even with this in mind, he’s still extremely loyal whenever it comes to anyone in his family.

He cares for all of them an overwhelming amount, and doesn’t back down on cheering up or caring any of his family members. Seeing them happy always put him in a better mood overall.

If ANY of the Brown/Gadget family was put under any danger, he comes quick to serve to destroy anyone and anything putting them in a terrible position.

This makes him a good parental figure at best, having him watch & look over anybody underage and or untrusting for wanting to do something “dangerous”.

Because he’s quick to serve, he never says no to any request he’s given..professionally/forcefully speaking.

If a dumb enough of a request was given to him he’d probably turn it down (Or if it’s just something he’s unable to do)

Even if he keeps himself together, he can be easily more frightened than Fidget if you time it right. He never admits to it even if someone tells him about it.

This also plays into the fact he’s EXTREMELY sensitive to loud noises. Even if he knows it’s coming, it hits him like a truck with how overpowering the echos are in his ears.

This doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy metal/rock all that often..preferably nothing heavy, but still “dark” enough on a pop fan’s ear. This is one of those moments where he excuses how loud the music can be.

He gained a small habit of collecting things from the extra storage compartment, usually being specific items every time he’s off collecting.

This hobby is usually kept private, but he doesn’t mind showing Fidget some of the small trinkets he’s collected & infodump about their differences.

Fidget on the other hand thrives off of his emotions; he doesn’t think much on profession, & overall he’s just having a fun time!!

It’s strangely beautiful for him to not have anything natural to a human but still feel certain pains, emotions, and strengths as would a human.

He isn’t scared on showing whatever it’s feeling; maybe it being pain, hunger, sadness, excitement, he’s gonna show it one way or another.

He’s also the more dramatic and or teasing character, although it’s all in good fun if he’s poking fun at someone close.

He does get a little insecure about his feelings whenever Digit says something on him being unable to do something, but it’s like a small sting he’d feel for a couple minutes.

He usually processes negative emotions more intensely, making a whole fit during the moment until he eventually gets over it.

This doesn’t mean he isn’t emotional, Fidget is extremely sympathetic & worrisome overall.

Usually his mind goes into areas that’d seem silly to scare himself over, but there are times where he uses those feelings for anything more “heavy”.

His brother is a good example of this, with Fidget feeling terrible over Digit giving himself such a strict mindset for as long as they both could remember.

Speaking of, Digit is a huge role model to Fidget aside from the lieutenant. Most of what he dose he’d always think what Digit would do or say in the situation.

(Mostly it’s just a bunch of funny bits where he’d get reminded of how comedically sarcastic he can be)

This is another reason he feels so awful on him beating on himself over the smallest “flaws”, Fidget doesn’t care how Digit acts because he’s apart of family. No matter how he was he was still going to care for him equally.

He does try & get a little bit out of Digit once in a while, usually starting as a fight & them slowly turning into them both comforting each other.

Fidget is scary good at comforting whenever he isn’t in a panic, maybe it’s just a certain tone he uses, but if he’s trying to cheer someone up their in good hands.

If he is in a panic or rush, it’s gonna be really messy with whatever he says; really it’s him trying to find the right words he can’t see.

(He’s the silly one of the duo! Someone’s gotta do it!)

Fidget’s equally loyal about his family as is Digit, but he dose get a little scared at time of what they may be facing off. Piss him off enough & he’ll get just has defensive IF NOT MORE than his twin.

Even then he’d usually be in the one in the trouble..if he ever needs to save someone outside of the lieutenant or Penny he’s probably getting tricked in some way.

(He’s smart enough to not fully fall into the bait, if anything the idea of someone being used as bait for him makes him mad enough)

Type of guy to enjoy hot temperatures, preferably anything that steams, like a hot towel!

It massages the outer plates of his body, as well making his circits more loose to where he could melt like putty. As he’s said before about steam: “It relaxes him for the whole day” (Help Wanted reference again hi)

Although he enjoys consuming many things, this guys a MAJOR sweet tooth.

Anything sweet, rich, sour, chilled, creamy, milky, choc-y even he easily melts over. He’s the type of guy who could eat a cake whole if he wanted; and given his agility, he very much can.

Because of a specific icon of MAD, he’s got a tad bit of fear for most cats..it melts away once he finds out if a said kitty is nice.

This robot understands love much more than intended, almost anyone appealing enough makes his heart race. But even then if someone outside of his family fed him he’d probably think about that longer than intended..

while publically and online I don't talk about my ideas in detail or like, something closer to a finished product, I do like to use pronouns dramatically trying to make use of the English langauge (<- thinks in 2-3 languages at a time). In this case, it'd be towards mim's different aspects. as a diety (she/her), human facade (he/him), or like uh Ame-no-Sagiri (it/its) and other stuff they do while possessing people probably.

imagine there being an omniscient narrator but likes to be dramatic and talking to an audience in the voice of a certain character and from that "perspective" (<- desperately trying to explain their bullshit writing style). If I write from a Teddie perspective then the narrative would use "sensei" for Souji and describe details curiously, or an Adachi perspective where the narrative would use "idiot" and sounds very annoyed and lazy, or Souji using "senpai" and is particular with descriptions and with things that catch his eye, or, very vaguely, mim trying to distinguish their roles and identities as god and as this human they're acting as.

but the narrator is also its own guy and decides to make analogies that could foreshadow something or make things sound interesting or sound embarrassing and cheesy and (gritting teeth, punching the fucking air)

onto a more personal take though, I guess I do leave the impression I use they/them for mim pretty firmly but not really strictly! I am a silly guy I don't really care it's not really firm at all lol

Ikevamp AU where everything is the same except no one really understands French.

The only ones who can consistently speak French are the French Fries (Napoleon, Jean and Charles) and Comte.

Mozart and Faust still talk in so much German and they are so happy to find each other so they can finally speak in German to someone. But Mozart will think and speak in German until he finally hears someone speaking in French and he's like "ahh yes...I'm in this horrible country"

Leonardo almost only speaks Italian. To himself. To Comte. To anyone. It takes him a moment to understand why no one can understand him, because he is going OFF in Italian and no one can even keep up even if they knew Italian.

Luckily the brothers can still speak dutch. Theo is better at French than Vincent since he goes out and works. It takes Vincent a minute or two to process and translate in his head, so occasionally Theo has to translate something for him (yes ik Vincent lived in France before he died but idc)

Arthur's Scottish accent gets in the way and no one can tell me otherwise. There's words he simply can't say no matter how hard he tries. But if he happens to be in a conversation while trying to write, he can't process both languages simultaneously, so sometimes he starts typing in French and it messes everything up.

Isaac is a disaster while teaching and grading papers. He can solve all these damn equations but please don't speak to him. Not only because of his anxiety but because when he doesn't know the French word, he says the English word without hesitation. He will be grading papers and start writing notes in English. Or he won't know a French word and has to go to Napoleon. His students are also helping him get better with French.

Dazai learned Spanish instead of French and that head canon is staying with me until I die. However he's oddly good at French. He learned it very quickly but can have a hard time writing in anything other than Japanese.

Will forgets French so much. He's alone in this Villa, with only Puck. If it wasn't for the theater he would forget everything he's learned. He goes out into town speaking English until he suddenly remembers where he is.

Sebastian has too many languages going on in his head. He knows French very well but in the morning after just waking up it takes him longer to process and translate.

VLAD. OHMYGOD he knows as much French as a 4 year old French child. He's horrible at French. In the morning he's reading the newspaper and is yelling in Romanian how those aren't even words and every morning Charles has to explain to him that they are in France.

Faust needs his morning coffee before he can process anything that isn't German. Most of the Castle is yelling in Romanian and German and occasionally some French.

Jean actually has a bit of a hard time with "modern" french. It's different from what he's used to and there's a lot of new words he doesn't know. So technically he is still learning too

Anyhoo, it's my first pop history book, and I got it almost entirely because it includes Krishnadevaraya (he ruled the Vijayanagara empire at its peak. I'm interested because there's this world heritage site, Hampi, that I am very fond of despite barely remembering my visit there because I was just a kid back then. But idc, Hampi is the coolest.). Also I attended a talk by the author of this book last month and holy shit, he's such a good speaker. Like, damn, he can speak. I really wanted to read his stuff after that talk, but there isn't a paperback version of his newest book so I went with this one instead.

Anyway, three pages into the intro and ayyyy we have a Hampi mention! :D

AND. The introduction itself references the fact that the name 'Deccan' is ALSO an anglicisation. ARGH. So some context: I recently realised that almost all of the cities/towns that played a role in my life have two names. One is the official and traditional name, and the other is an (erstwhile official) anglicised name that was used during the times of colonial rule and remains very common today as a nickname. I mean, the switches from the anglicised names to the traditional names happened in either my own lifetime or in my parents' lifetime. It's far too recent for the anglicised names to be dropped from cultural memory so they stick around as a nickname for the city. And I'm not sure how I feel about the fact it's often the anglicised names that I'm more fond of. So mhmmm mixed feelings there about how the colonial rule may have officially ended almost a generation ago, but it still has a huge impact on so many aspects of my daily life. Anyway! So technically the Deccan plateau is this huge place - practically the entire south of the country I think. And the fact that even the overarching region I'm from is called by an anglicised name - what part of my geographical identity doesn't have British fingerprints all over it, y'know? I know it shouldn't really matter and why can't we reclaim the name for ourselves etc. and also after a point - as in the case of the Deccan, wherein I didn't know it was anglicised until years after learning about it - maybe it doesn't really matter if no one knows the origins and the British connection means nothing if it isn't known. Or maybe it's alright even if it is, because ultimately colonial rule was a part of our history and that can acknowledged, it's fine, not everything has to be (or even can be, I'm literally speaking in English for this to be possible and English is very British) erased. Idk I just have conflicting feelings about this. also I've completely lost the thread - basically "huh, Deccan is an anglicised word derived from 'dakshina', the Sanskrit word for 'South'".

I have a science test next week lmao bc he gave us the wrong test 🤪 and now I've got to do a different one rip my sanity

but also!! my religious studies assessment is apparently really good according to the teacher! I got feedback on it bc I was done fast so now it's like. rlly good. I'm very happy

also I handed in my English assessment 😑🤚 u KNOW I'm gonna stare at the email with the result in it for a whole hour before opening it ahaha my mind hates me

uhhh I'm considering continuing with pe next year! idk why but i like Sports but only in general and pe is really fun for me (which is fucking weird but I just go with it lmao)

engineerings pretty lit we're moving to using a 3d design program and it looks like I'm gonna be the only one who actually understands it so that's gonna be fun

dvc! I'm not failing! I actually just have to get my evaluation page done! things are good!

social studies we're watching a movie called the good lie and it's about refugees from Sudan moving to america to start new lives and my classmates keep laughing at the bits that are like. poignant and reflective and actually really sad and I want to scream at them <\3

also I've been thinking about what subject i choose for next year and it's so gd hard ugh lemme explain

OK so you've got six subject you can do for ncea, some of which are mandatory for a certain amount of time. next year, when I'll be doing ncea level one, I have to do ones for religious studies (bc catholic school but it gives me a shitton of credits so eh), mathematics, english and science (not technically but you've gotta have a rlly good reason for dropping it plus I like science soo).

so that's four out of six predetermined. the level u do it at (bc there's maths 101, 102, 103 and then that's similar with other classes) is sti variable but idc abt that yet

so I've got two choices left. now, I could pick a social science (history, geography or societies and citizenship), a PE based subject (101, 102, or outdoor ed which actually seems pretty cool), design and visual communication, engineering, or resistant materials.

engineering I'm probably gonna discontinue. out of the social science I'd want to do history. pe? yeah I'd do that instead of outdoor ed.

that leaves me with pe, history, dvc, or rmt.

look I rlly like pe. I'm apparently good at dvc so that's something I'd like to consider continuing through with. history is sort of... maybe? and rmt is woodwork, but I haven't hit that semester ik doing it in yet so idk too much abt it

it'll a) depend on my feelings when I choose the subjects, b) depend on scheduling and c) depend on what gives me the most credits lmao
