another day of me being sad for the following reasons

ascana discontinued

none of ascana's songs are on spotify so I have to listen to them on youtube and soundcloud and I can't add them to my idol series playlist

somehow aiyuu still isn't canon

we haven't had a new lipxlip song/MV for over 3 months (otouto ni wa himitsu and hahaoyatte don't count because they're individual songs)

I made this bc I was bored and bc they are my standards (fell for a Kaname as a Tsubomi tho lmaoo).

Tbh, there was that long list in my drafts (way before my MochiAka post which says a lot)  with me babbling about how they raised my standards more than Disney did, but I gave up since it got so long!! 43 characters are even featured in this vid lmaoo (+ Kumamaru coz why not?). I also don’t know if I’d give them proper justice in that post. 

Anyway, rip to the samurai dudes, the “Can I Confess to You” guy and many forgotten characters. The music ran out XD

HIII WELCOME BACK !! im always happy to talk abt haniwa i vibrate ever time i talk abt it yahay!! LETS GET DOWN TO IT THEN !!

the idol series is a branch of honeyworks' confession executive committee, which as opposed to the large majority of their songs that centered on familiar shoujo manga struggles such as love, crushes, terminal illness, talking flowers, and of course, what happens when your crush moves to USA bc he was too stupid to confess — ANYWAY. idol series deals with the struggles and sufferings of idols in the entertainment industry, as well as the relationships they form in and out of their jobs !

idol series primarily centers on lipxlip ! which if you have ever seen me or spoke to me you must be fully aware im not very normal about them and just Talking abt them is one whole post itself so lets just jump over that. pyon~~!

lipxlip are the introductory characters into idol series, with one of its members, aizo, having a branch in the love series through his brother, ken. this shows that both serie are inherently connected and are simply separated by heteronormativity super silly things!

idol series also includes hiyori, lipxlip's manager and classmate who has since earned her own spot as a main character in love series with her own love story with shiranami nagisa — as well as other idols !!

mona is an angel-themed idol who is also the sister of sena narumi, a love series character and partner of midori takamine AND an in-universe media personality !

minami started as a collaboration character with y!mobile where he was introduced as the love interest of nakuru in bae love, and they have since canonized their relationship in ren'ai thru kareshi no shikaku !

another pair of idols are asuka kaido and kanata ichigoya, otherwise known as ASCANA! theyre part of the virtual johnny's project and asuka was a temporary potential love interest for hiyori up until his rejection of her in heroine ikusei keikaku (heroine development plan) . unfortunately, ascana has probably been discontinued bc their seiyuus are part of a much bigger musical group !

last and very expansive idol group (ish) in idol series is full throttle4 ! sometimes abbreviated as ft4, their members go by stage names in english characters. unlike the others, theyre not actually idols ! theyre a music and dance group with their manager as their DJ and leader, IV! rio and yui serve as the vocals while megu and dai are dancers!

note abt ft4 is that their songs tend to deal with heavy subject matter and their theme in itself is much darker than mona's angels or lipxlip's princes, but they have some incredibly interesting stories ^_^

idol series has various other characters from different media and stories: an example is chizuru nakamura or chuutan, the infamous main character of kawaikute gomen and a diehard lipxlip fan ! there's also asuna, mona's rival idol who has done some... cruel things to mona in the watashi idol sengen manga. additionally, various characters voiced by amatsuki often play the role of mona fans, like kobayashi from getsuyoubi no yuutsu! there are more and more but at this point this ask is. Too long already. IM SORRY

the other gay idols are ascana! theyre made up of asuka kaido and kanata ichigoya, orphans who were scouted into becoming an idol duo <3 you may recall that in heroiku, the person hiyori confessed to is asuka bc nagisa wasn't out of the basement yet :3 theyre rival idols basically but. um. Theyre Discontinued im sorry

Ooh i did expect that they were discontinued,, i mean i haven't seen any official content of them apart from the lxl movie after like. Falling into the haniwa rabbit hole. Also i wasn't paying attention to the mv much ^^; but ive seen other haniwa posts mentioning the hiyori-asuka sub plot incident thing

3 DAYS ‘TIL LIPxLIP BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Present I: ASCANA new song announcement, two new songs following “Yowamushitachi no Sekai Seifuku” and “Shiny Wedding” will be shown in this work. Will it be during the main story? Will they sing on the stage (live) part? Check it out at the theatres!

Present II: Kanata vs Aizou!? The two members of ASCANA also took part at the idol audition in which Aizou and Yuujirou participated in. Kanata who cheerfully distributed candies at several auditioners… Aizou in his tense mood-!?

Present III: This huge performance of LIPxLIP is captivating but the stage (live) part is also a must-see! The 3D CG of Aizou and Yuujirou for the opening theme song “LOVE&KISS” is that of dynamic performance. If you come and watch, you will have the best Christmas, no doubt!

Present IV: The meaning of lip and kiss, along with the feelings hidden behind the name “LIPxLIP”… The origin of the unit name that may actually be different is also shown. In addition, you may also know how the kiss marks were placed on their necks!?

AIZOU – A third year middle school student who is affected by his family. Good at dancing and has excellent coordination. Challenged the idol audition in order to change something.

YUUJIROU – A third year middle school student who’s been cut off from his dream of being a Kabuki actor by his father who told him he had no charm/beauty. Participated in the idol audition to find something.

The roadshow will start on 25th of December nationwide. LIPxLIP theatrical documentary film with the participation of the two members of ASCANA and lots of joyful presents for the fans!

Asuka ignored his boyfriend and got up from the couch to take refuge in his bedroom. He had barely begun to walk when he felt a weight on his leg. He looked down and, as expected, Kanata was now lying on the floor, his arms around his right ankle.

“I beg you, Asuka! You're my last hope! I can't do anything without you!”

“I told you that you should have begun to work sooner.”

“And you were right! You always are! I swear I'll always listen to you from now on. And I'll stop bothering you in your Showroom for a month– no, two months! Pleaaase...”

Asuka sighed, but Kanata suddenly raised his head and his eyes were shining and his lower lip was beginning to shake and– Asuka was weak.

“Alright.” He groaned and Kanata immediately let go of his leg. “But I'm only reading what you've done, I won't do your research.”

“Deal!” Kanata exclaimed and sat at the table, already surrounded by several books. He smiled at Asuka when he sat down next to him. “You're the best boyfriend in the world.”

Asuka ignored him. After all, it wasn't anything new.

I just realized yesterday

That Kanata’s left sleeve on his white (?) stage outfit is written 158. Instead of counting normally like “1, 2, 3″, Kanata usually counts like “1, 5, 8″. I don’t really know why it’s 8 (is it perhaps because 8 can be read as “ya” instead of “hachi”?) but 1, 5 can be read as ichi-go which is his name!
