31. Talk about one of your favorite headcanons for a ship you love. :3

hhhhnnnggg, only one? how could you do this to me hahahahaha

well, you guys all know how much I love Clack - I have a gazillion headcanons about them. one I never get to talk about is Zack and Cloud’s hometowns. I like thinking about the different cultures and languages they grew up with :3

I like to think that both Zack and Cloud (also Tifa, since she’s from Nibelheim too) are multi-lingual. it makes no sense to me that an entire planet would speak only one universal language, but I think that ShinRa forces whatever language is spoken in Midgar to be taught in the schools of the reactor towns and anywhere else they have influence. so in towns like Gongaga and Nibelheim, the citizens would have their native language, but most - if not all - of them would be fluent in… uuuh, Midgaran? who even knows. I’m terrible at naming things. anyway, that would make it easy not only for ShinRa’s workers to communicate with townspeople worldwide, but it’d also make it easy for country kids - who’re probably brainwashed with propaganda - to travel to Midgar to try out for SOLDIER. like Zack and Cloud.

and because they worked for ShinRa during the Wutai war, they were probably also taught some Wutaiian as well. Zack more so, since he’s higher-ranking.

aaaand I’d go into the cultures part too but then this’d end up being a 20-page essay so I’m gonna shut up now hahahaha… haha… ha.

☾ - sleep headcanon

I've always thought that Kadaj would be the type to sleep curled up on his right side because it makes him feel safe and because he's been woken up countless times by nightmares where he's getting attacked and he draws Souba reflexively.

☠ - angry/violent headcanon

I headcannon that Kadaj believes in revenge for the ones who have done him wrong and would even go as far as keeping the people he hates alive as long as possible so he can break them down day by day. He also believes in tormenting people in any way required to get what he wants. He's extremely bitter and it's got a lot to do with how he didn't get to experience the range of emotions most do when they grow up.

■ -  Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon

I think Kadaj would have significant difficulty adapting to having an actual place to stay since him and his brothers were on the move since they came into existence. Their campsites were normally sparse and void of any personal artifacts save for the occasional items they picked up.

Do you know how many lives the Shadow Creepers and Bahamut SIN took in Edge thanks to you, along with how much destruction those three caused? I know you're all about forgiveness but did you realise you took too long?

"Are you just going to disappear on me again?"

Of course the man was smart enough to know that going back to Banora wasn’t a good option for him or, more likely, for anything about his situation. That, however, didn’t stop him. To see his childhood home emptied of every sign of life, dutifully seen to by the neighbors due to the absentee son of the twice-over widow, had strangled him for a moment. There was no feeling of home there anymore: no life, no love, nothing. It was just another blank building in a small, country town, and for that to set in shattered some illusion he had harbored throughout his life. More than a building was needed to make home, and if he hadn’t known that before, he realized it now.

No more than a half dozen strides had carried him away from the building when he heard that voice and froze in his steps. The words were like ice daggers into his heart, but he daren’t reveal that to the other man. Instead, he stood there: rooted, stiff, akin to the unyielding Banora White trees that decorated the town.

“Are you just going to disappear on me again?”

If only it were so easy as to just say yes and walk away. But he couldn’t bring himself to. It was hard enough to walk away from the young man who he had very nearly adopted as his own, playing both the older brother and surrogate father. The nurturer. The mentor. He had made the fatal mistake of allowing the lithe figure behind him to play as big a role in his life as he played in Zack’s own. Something he’d tried to avoid. And yet, he had gotten attached—in the same way one grew attached to the stray dog wandering about the neighborhood, eventually bringing it inside during a rainstorm only for it to never sleep on the streets again.

But who, now, was the wayward pooch? Seemed Zack had his situation as in hand as he could. Not so much for Angeal Hewley. SOLDIER had been most of the life that he had known—and yet, here he was. He had let it go.

“You say that like I have a choice.”

There. It was the best way to answer the question—without—answering the question, per say. It answered it in the way it gave an affirmation to the question, but without directly having to say, yes. He was going to disappear again. What was he to say next? He wanted to caution Zack not to get involved, to tell him to run along back to ShinRa and tell Lazard he wanted no involvement in these missions. But he knew how that would end. There were only two 1st Class left, after his defection. That was why—well, that was why he had recommended the young SOLDIER for the promotion in the first place.

All his energy shifted down, into his feet, and he began to walk away.

[Referring to your living legacy post, remember when Angeal and Gen defected from Shinra? Other than trying to eliminate them, Shinra basically just pretended they never existed. And then they did the same with Zack. If not for Cloud, the whole world would probably just go on and forget he was ever alive.]
