It's easy to lose sight of the beauty in the country you grew up in, or "hemmablind" as we would say in Swedish. ⁣ I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of different countries and discover the beauty of other parts of the world. ⁣ I've also spent a significant amount of time discovering more of my home country of Sweden in the last couple of years. It might not house the *most* spectacular of anything, which in a way reflects the Swedish spirit of "lagom", but it still has a tremendous amount of beauty and lots of places and quirks to discover!⁣ ⁣ Though I'm not there to celebrate it, today is Sweden's national day! I've realized though that I don't appreciate Sweden as much as when I'm not there, so maybe this is the best way for me to spend the national day. ⁣ ⁣ To be fair I think most swedes save the celebration for midsummer anyways... ⁣ ⁣⁣ 📷 One of the good things about Sweden is that you have proper seasons and there's something to enjoy in all of them! I'm on my way out on a little adventure in the mountains. It's going to be so nice to just get away for a little while and be free from the privileged distractions of having so many things accessible to me at all times. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This year I decided to challenge myself by posting something to social media (i.e. Instagram) every single day for the entire year, or until I changed my mind.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So far it's been a mostly positive experience. I've had a lot more engagement on the things I post, I enjoy the challenge of trying to create content daily and I've (partially) overcome the hurdle of thinking that every post has to be "good enough" for Instagram.⁣⁣ Recently I've been feeling the downsides of it too though. I don't think social media alone is to blame for it, but the numbers going down and added stress of trying to produce and publish something daily on top of the other things I've got going on right now has just made me feel a bit off.⁣⁣ I will enjoy this little break and re-evaluate what I want to get out of this.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I'm really grateful for the comments, likes and DM's I've gotten in the past few months! Let me tell you about Exped Cloudburst 25 🎒 I love backpacks and this backpack is probably one of my most used gear. I bought it when I moved to London many years ago because I needed a waterproof backpack. Another criteria that I had was that it had to pack up super small and not take up much space or weight in my otherwise quite full 45L backpack, which I come to live out of for the next couple of years. Little did I know when I bought it that it would come to be one of my most trusted companions. It has been along on so many adventures and I've used it almost every day for years now. Apart from some tear from being squeezed between my body and the Squamish granite rock, its held up incredibly well. It's been such a great winter so far! I hope you are all doing well and are able to get outside and get some sweet sun on those cheeks!⁣ ⁣⁣ 📷 Photo of the stone hut on Västerfjället. It was originally built in 1896. It took 29 people to manually carry up all the material and only 12 hours to build it!⁣ It was restored in 1976 by another group of volunteers. Autumn is an interesting time. Outside everything is changing and the colors get spectacular and warm, but there's also the looming darkness and promise of a colder season ahead. This summer I spent a lot of time working towards becoming a climbing instructor. When I set my mind on something I can get really carried away and only do things to get me to that certain point. ⁣ I find that no matter what I do and how much I love it I need to do something else in order to not lose focus and stay interested. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I have a tradition which I call Vacay Mania. Just a few more days left of @arevildmarksutbildning. The past 12 months have been flying by way too quickly and in a couple of weeks we graduate from @vildmarksutbildningen and move into a very different tourist climate than what was 12 months ago.⁣⁠ I have no idea what's next but I'm excited to find out what it will be!
