SpaceTime -- A brief history
SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States.  The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science.  SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research.  The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network.  Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor.  Gary’s always loved science. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. Gary’s radio career stretches back some 34 years including 26 at the ABC. He worked as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. He was part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and became one of its first on air presenters. When asked to put his science background to use, Gary developed StarStuff which he wrote, produced and hosted, consistently achieving 9 per cent of the national Australian radio audience based on the ABC’s Nielsen ratings survey figures for the five major Australian metro markets: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth.  The StarStuff podcast was published on line by ABC Science -- achieving over 1.3 million downloads annually.  However, after some 20 years, the show finally wrapped up in December 2015 following ABC funding cuts, and a redirection of available finances to increase sports and horse racing coverage.  Rather than continue with the ABC, Gary resigned so that he could keep the show going independently.  StarStuff was rebranded as “SpaceTime”, with the first episode being broadcast in February 2016.  Over the years, SpaceTime has grown, more than doubling its former ABC audience numbers and expanding to include new segments such as the Science Report -- which provides a wrap of general science news, weekly skeptical science features, special reports looking at the latest computer and technology news, and Skywatch – which provides a monthly guide to the night skies. The show is published three times weekly (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and available from the United States National Science Foundation on Science Zone Radio, and through both i-heart Radio and Tune-In Radio.

I took 4 hours to make a stew today. I also listened to five different Johnny Borrell interviews in the intervening time. I think the two might be connected. I should be packing my suitcases instead.
I have been toying with the idea of reaching out to Razorlight management. They just put out an album, Planet Nothing on Friday. I have been thinking about this for a whole MONTH. In defence of my delusions who else is clamouring to interview them in Canada? This continent knows two songs (America and In The Morning, maybe Golden Touch at a stretch). Besides their management has liked my posts about them twice. So feed my delusions. I’ll try and reach out even though the album is now out. Worst case I won’t hear back, which is normal.
If they did say yes though, imagine that. It would make them one of the highest profile guests I’ve had, but that’s also good reason to be nervous. What the fuck do I know about touring the world, being in showbiz, doing telly, festivals, you know what I mean? You have to know about something yourself to ask questions about it.
And there’s say that Johnny is apparently a notoriously hard interviewee, though I’ve only ever heard him be delightful and insightful in interviews. Man doesn’t have a phone though, he’s like old-school old-school. He doesn’t trust social media which is valid and based. But I also find it’s easier for such people to fall out of touch. Like. What do I do if this guy shows up completely uncomfortable with the concept and practice of using Zoom? They aren’t touring Canada, any interviews will most likely be remote. This has literally happened before, where an interviewer in 2020 was like ?? Buddy you’re taken aback seeing yourself on the screen on Zoom, again, valid but like. Have you never used FaceTime or any such thing before? You’re in your forties. And he’s just like nope, never had an iPhone, don’t have one now, it’s borrowed for the interview, don’t trust it.
Man I want to talk about music? Let’s not get stuck here. He is completely right about how social media is killing creativity though, it doesn’t give you a chance to be bored and think, dream. Still, it does mean that we’d start things off on quite different pages, and then I’d also be working to pull him onto the same page, or meet him somewhere halfway. Whatever.
He was even asked about his supposedly difficult and standoffish persona, and he said he’s never had a tough time talking to music interviewers, you know music journalists from radio, music magazines, whatever; anyone who actually wanted to talk about the music itself, but because Razorlight got big quite fast and found themselves miserably thrown onto like art, culture lifestyle and celebrity programmes and magazines, and the interviewers would ask them inane questions, and Johnny just doesn’t seem like the kind of person that had the patience for that rubbish. He apparently groaned and moaned about having to go to the BRIT Awards because he had no interest in the façade of importance the music industry builds around itself, but the management had said yes before he ever had a chance to decline the invites and didn’t want to look like a dickhead pulling out at the last minute. That’s pure artist, and always a tricky interview— but one that could go really really well!
Here’s one interview Johnny gets criticised for, from I think 2007? Johnny gets asked questions regarding press about him, and he gets quite uncomfortable and says he’d rather not do it at all. All I see here is someone setting down firm boundaries over something he isn’t comfortable with, which should’ve been applauded! Instead almost universally the mood in the studio (and in the 16 year old comment section) is sour, there are people calling him a diva for politely saying he’s uncomfortable with and doesn’t want to dignify lies about himself written in the press— some of which the interviewers say they’ve made up for a laugh. Johnny says he’d rather they moved on, and they’re like 😐 we don’t have any more questions, we have a minute to fill.
Like that’s not Johnny Borrell’s job? Good on him for standing up for himself, the interviewers should’ve had backup questions. It’s so awkward, not because a musician set down boundaries but because the interviewers then made it awkward! Goodness, if that happened to me I think a TV Interviewer would never see me again. This is the kind of shit that made Godspeed stop doing interviews entirely.
youtube
In contrast, here’s an interview Johnny did with Face Culture in 2018 where he’s perfectly forthcoming and extremely pleasant (it’s more recent as well, which could be a confounding factor). He even said at the end when he’s called away for soundcheck, that’s a shame, I could’ve talked longer, I really enjoyed that, thanks for the intelligent questions.
youtube
I think he gets unfairly maligned in the press, and it’s a bad cycle that keeps spinning faster— one bad interview and suddenly journalists (especially non-music ones) are approaching you with that predator-out-on-the-prowl attitude and you’re cooked then because they can write what they please. They can make things awkward where there was no right to be awkwardness. Things like that.
So i think Johnny is okay, and particularly as campus radio, as someone with literally 0 agenda other than I want to talk about music to you, and as someone who is digging deep now and doing my homework, I think I should be fine. So I want to reach out (scared), if we do get the interview I hope he’s feeling great! He’s an interesting fella and if it works out, this could be the biggest interview of my (nonexistent) career so far.

Here are some photos from yesterday's rehearsal! Everyone happened to wear black clothes😂😂 (Wo-)Men in Black😎 After finishing the first day of rehearsals, I once again realised how colourful this album is... We did a lot of songs. Of course it's fun to sing, but it's also as intense as an attraction! 😂 Afterwards, I was so hungry that I practically inhaled 2 onigiri, some futomaki and umegae mochi🍙 I still wasn't full though🤣 (Source)

Here's Part 2 of my "Wakana Billboard Live 2023 ~Sono Saki e~" Goods Introduction🥳🎉 Today I'm showing you a phone tether tab & strap 😆This way you can carry your smartphone like a shoulder bag📱 It is the type of tab that can be easily set in the mobile case you usually use, this way you can just add the strap without needing a special case! ️👏 I've been waiting for this...😍 I'm an Android user but almost all cases that I find cute are for iPhones. This can be used regardless of the smartphone model, so it is really recommended 🤗✨ We have Same-chan on the phone tab in the case🦈 The strap is a light gray colour that will match anything. You can also adjust the length! ️ If you curry your phone around your shoulder, you can take spontaneous photos of random flowers which you encounter while you are taking a walk📸 It's really convenient 🤤 (Source)

You can easily put it on your shoulder! Of course, you can also hang it up at home😎(You have two options: hang it so it shows the "Wakana" print or so it shows the "Sono Saki e" print). We are already knee-deep in the hot summer weather so let's get through the high temperatures with this muffler towel🌟 (Source)

Tory Lanez Won't Testify in Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Trial
Denver Sean
Tumblr media
Tory Lanez won’t be telling his side of what allegedly happened to Megan Thee Stallion after-all.
The rapper has decided against testifying as a witness in his own trial.
via Billboard:
Putting a defendant on the stand to be cross-examined by prosecutors is a big gamble in any criminal case, and Lanez’s attorneys opted not to do so — resting their case without giving Lanez a chance to personally persuade jurors that he didn’t pull the trigger the night Megan was shot.
“I will not testify,” said Lanez, sitting beside his father, to Judge David V. Herriford.
During Wednesday morning’s proceedings, it was also revealed that Jaquan Smith, Lanez’s driver who was present the night of Megan’s shooting, would similarly not be testifying. Smith, who could have provided eye-witness testimony to the incident, had been present at the courthouse earlier in the day.
With no testimony from Lanez or Smith, both the prosecution and the defense will proceed to make their closing arguments later in the day on Wednesday. After that, the case will be submitted to the jury, with a verdict expected as early as Wednesday evening.
Lanez stands accused of three felony counts over the July 12, 2020 incident, during which prosecutors say he yelled “Dance, b—-” and shot at Megan’s feet, striking her at least once. If convicted on all three counts, he faces up to 22 years in prison. His lawyers have steadfastly maintained his innocence, suggesting throughout the trial that the trigger might instead have been pulled by Kelsey Harris, Megan’s former friend and assistant who was also in the vehicle that night.
Kicking off Dec. 12, the trial has seen gripping testimony from Megan herself, who recounted the alleged shooting, pinned the blame on Lanez and said, “I wish he had just shot and killed me.” Harris — expected to be a star witness for the prosecution — also took the stand, but she largely failed to re-affirmprevious statements pinning the blame on Lanez. Then on Friday (Dec. 16), prosecutors played recordings of Harris’ earlier statements, in which she clearly stated that Lanez had shot the Grammy-winning rapper and then tried to buy both women’s silence with million-dollar bribes.
Back in court this week, jurors heard confusing and contradictory testimony from Sean Kelly, a man who allegedly saw the entire incident from his nearby home. Expected to be a key witness for Lanez’s defense team, Kelly told jurors that he saw Harris violently grappling with Megan outside the vehicle, but that he also saw a man matching Tory Lanez’s description holding a gun. Bizarrely, he then later said he never actually saw a gun at all.
Smith, the driver of the vehicle, could have provided additional perspective as the only other person present during the incident — and the only one who has never been suggested to have been involved in the shooting. But like Lanez, he was never placed on the witness stand on Wednesday.
Speaking to Billboard during the recess, Lanez attorney George Mgdesyan said he’d wanted Smith to testify, but that procedural wrangling and the possibility of a delay that could have forced jurors to return after Christmas prevented him from taking the stand.
Tory had all that mouth pre-trial, but now he’s afraid to say anything. Lock him up!
Sent from my iPhone
Lock 🔐 him away and when the 🇺🇸 done with him they need to make sure they ship him back to Canada 🇨🇦and Put a no return sticker on him

Does iPhone 16 Have MagSafe? Newest!
MagSafe, Apple’s popular magnetic charging system, reintroduced with the iPhone 12, has since been a favorite feature for iPhone fans. This technology combines fast wireless charging with the convenience of a secure magnetic attachment, making it simple to snap on chargers and accessories without worrying about alignment. With the iPhone 16, Apple continues this tradition, refining MagSafe to make charging even faster and more reliable.
Apple’s commitment to building a robust MagSafe ecosystem means that with each iPhone model, we see new advancements and compatible accessories that enhance the MagSafe experience. The iPhone 16 brings new features to MagSafe, promising even greater convenience and efficiency.
What is MagSafe?
MagSafe is Apple’s advanced wireless charging technology, designed to make charging your iPhone as smooth and efficient as possible. Using built-in magnets that align perfectly with compatible chargers, MagSafe ensures your device locks into the ideal position every time, avoiding the issue of slow or uneven charging due to misalignment. This secure magnetic fit also helps MagSafe deliver faster, more stable charging than standard wireless chargers.Learn more about Magsafe, click here.
Tumblr media
New MagSafe Features in the iPhone 16
The iPhone 16 introduces impressive upgrades to its MagSafe technology, making charging faster and even more flexible. One major enhancement is the improved 25W charging rate, allowing users to power up their iPhones more quickly, whether at home or on the go. For those who value efficiency, this upgrade means less time tethered to a charger and more time on the move with a fully charged phone.
Another exciting addition is support for the Qi2 wireless charging standard. With Qi2, MagSafe compatibility goes beyond Apple-specific products, so you’ll be able to charge with a wider range of Qi2-enabled chargers, including third-party ones. This not only improves charging efficiency but also expands options for accessories. Apple’s commitment to enhancing the MagSafe ecosystem makes the iPhone 16 even more versatile and future-proof, ensuring that users get the best performance and compatibility possible.
Popular MagSafe Accessories for iPhone 16
For iPhone 16, the MagSafe ecosystem brings a lineup of handy accessories designed to maximize both functionality and ease of use. Popular choices include MagSafe battery packs, which give a quick boost of power on the go without needing extra cables. These battery packs snap onto the back of the iPhone 16, ensuring a secure fit and steady charge wherever you are. Another favorite is MagSafe cases—not only do they protect your iPhone, but they also let you charge without removing the case, thanks to their built-in magnetic alignment.
Tumblr media
Is MagSafe Worth It for iPhone 16 Users?
For iPhone 16 users, MagSafe can be a worthwhile investment, depending on your charging needs and lifestyle. On the plus side, MagSafe offers seamless, reliable charging by aligning perfectly with the iPhone, making it easy to “snap and go.” The convenience factor is a big draw, as is the fast charging capability with certain MagSafe accessories. Plus, it opens up a whole world of add-ons—like magnetic cases and battery packs—that are both functional and fun to use.
However, MagSafe accessories generally come with a higher price tag compared to standard Qi wireless chargers. So, if you’re mainly charging at a desk or don’t rely on accessories that require frequent recharging, you might not find it essential. For those who value the added convenience, faster charging, and the Apple-certified experience, MagSafe could be a game-changer. But it ultimately comes down to weighing these benefits with your budget and how often you’d take advantage of MagSafe-specific features.
Conclusion
In summary, MagSafe plays an essential role in Apple’s ecosystem, especially for the iPhone 16. This advanced magnetic technology enhances charging convenience, improves alignment, and powers up iPhones faster than ever before. With the iPhone 16, users experience not only faster speeds but also broader compatibility, thanks to the integration of Qi2 standards. As Apple continues to expand MagSafe features, future iPhone models may see even faster wireless charging and broader accessory support, making MagSafe an increasingly important feature to consider for Apple users.

FAQs
Can I use older MagSafe accessories with my iPhone 16?
Yes, you can! MagSafe accessories made for iPhone 12 and later should work smoothly with the iPhone 16. Apple has kept compatibility consistent, so items like MagSafe chargers, cases, and wallets will connect and function as expected on iPhone 16.
Is MagSafe faster than regular Qi wireless charging on iPhone 16?
Definitely! The MagSafe charger delivers a faster, more efficient charge—up to 25W on the iPhone 16—compared to the standard 7.5W Qi wireless charging. This means that when you’re in a hurry, MagSafe can save time by charging your device more quickly.
Do I need a MagSafe-compatible case for it to work on my iPhone 16?
For the best MagSafe experience, it’s recommended to use a MagSafe-compatible case. These cases have built-in magnets that align perfectly with the charger, ensuring secure attachment and optimal charging speed.

New Samsung Galaxy S25 case leaks hint at the designs for all three phones
The Samsung Galaxy S25 leaks and rumors aren't showing any signs of stopping – ahead of an official launch expected in January 2025 – and the most recent sneak preview of this series comes courtesy of three phone case leaks.
As posted by reputable tipster Roland Quandt, the cases give us some ideas about the designs for the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus, and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra – replacing the same three models in the Galaxy S24 series.
Some of the design choices we can see here back up previous rumors: the case for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, for example, features corners that are more rounded than they are on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, a change that we'd already heard was coming.
We can also see the button placement is the same as on the current models – so unlike the iPhone 16, the Samsung Galaxy S25 won't be getting any new buttons this time around. Any design changes that are included are expected to be pretty minor.
As these cases have cut-outs for the rear cameras, we can see the camera modules are going to more or less follow the same format as this year's models: triple-lens rear cameras for the S25 and S25 Plus, and a quad-lens rear camera for the S25 Ultra.
Our Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review will tell you that the current camera setup is an impressive one in terms of captured photo and video quality. Two of the four cameras are apparently in line for an upgrade next time around.
We've already seen from several leaks – including the appearance of three dummy units – that the 2025 flagship Galaxy phones will look very similar to the 2024 versions, though it looks as though the updated models are going to be slightly thinner.
Phone manufacturers usually provide schematic information to accessory makers ahead of time, so they can get their wares ready for launch day, so we can be reasonably certain that the Samsung Galaxy S25 designs are going to match the cases shown here.

iPhone Case: My Latest Favourite Case
As you should all know by now, I *love* design. It’s been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Over the years, one of the areas where I’ve indulged my love for design is in my choice of smartphones. Specifically, iPhones. Now, I’m not bragging here, but I’ve had quite a collection of them over the years. Let me take you through my little iPhone timeline:
- **iPhone 3Gs (Black)**
- **iPhone 4s (Black)**
- **iPhone 6 (White)**
- **iPhone 7 (Black)**
- **iPhone 11 (Product Red)**
- **iPhone 13 Mini (Blue)**
- **iPhone 14 Pro Max (Deep Purple)**
- **iPhone 16 Pro (White Titanium)**
That’s quite a lineup, right? But as much as I’ve loved each of these phones for their features, the iPhone design isn’t complete without the right case. And believe me, I’ve tried *many* over the years—cases that were sleek, functional, sturdy, and everything in between. But nothing has come close to what I’m using now.

I’m talking about the Spigen Classic C1 MagFit Case for my iPhone 16 Pro , in Tangerine. This case is simply on another level. It not only offers MagSafe compatibility, (Which is extremely useful) but it also hits a special nostalgic spot for me. Every time I look at it, I’m taken straight back to 1999. Why, you ask? It’s because this case is a direct nod to the **iMac G3**  that iconic piece of design history. The translucent back and bold colour remind me of those fun, candy-coloured desktop computers that revolutionised the way we think about technology and design.

I don’t know if it’s just me being nostalgic, but there’s something about holding a phone case that takes me back to those early days of tech excitement. The Tangerine colour itself has this retro vibe that makes the case stand out in a way that’s both modern and classic at the same time. It feels like I’m carrying a piece of tech history around, but with all the benefits of modern design and functionality.
So yeah, while I’ve had many iPhones and cases over the years, this one—hands down—is my favourite. It perfectly merges the past with the present, and I absolutely love it.
