        there was something humbling about the fact that his daughter was growing up.. something terrifying about the possibility of her being on her own, of her not NEEDING HIM anymore that he despised. she was meant to stay his little girl forever, the one who thought guys were gross and only wanted her dad. he hated it. hated it more than the possibility of not playing hockey right out of college. so when she brought up the idea of visiting colleges and wanting to visit briar, john was all for it.. no matter how hard it killed him. grace simply brushed him off, stating that it was simply just normal teenage behavior.. but her leaving : IT WAS EATING HIM ALIVE.

It had been a long week for everyone.

One of the first times that Ryder had been more included in the McCall pack and what they dealt with almost every week. He was not as involved as he would have liked but he could understand why — Especially with how reluctant Liam had been to include him in general, anyways. Being one of the only humans in the group and brand new to the whole world of the supernatural meant that he was more vulnerable.

The blonde had practically collapsed into one of the free space amongst the living room of the Dunbar's house. He was all but melting back into the couch as soon as his body made contact with it. What felt like less a minute later, there was another body almost collapsing on top of him before CJ was making himself comfortable.

And, well, who was Ryder to turn the other away? An arm came up to wrap around the other to gently pull him closer. He nuzzled his face into CJ's shoulders like a kitten snuggling in for a good nap.

of course she felt bad for not being around much for allison, but it was a different kind of guilt knowing she hadn't been there for so much of her younger brother's life that she'd barely recognized him when she'd come back from new york a few years ago. now, she sat in the passenger seat letting him drive her car! she sat back, relaxed and trying not to seem worried about her car. she really wasn't, if he drove anything like a california driver he was better off than drivers in the city. "i can't believe dad's still teaching you how to drive stick." it had been gerard who insisted cassandra learn, but maybe it was some rite of passage. "thought that tradition would have died with me."

Ryder had flinched away from the loud bang. His ears ringing before he could even realize what was happening. Despite the temporary loss of his hearing, the panic was still very clearly there. Especially once he had noticed his brother's crumpled form just a couple of feet from him.

"Fuck, fuck-" The younger was quick to move toward Liam. There was a reason that Ryder was supposed to stay out of the more intense things on the supernatural side of Beacon Hills. He did not have the cushion of a healing factor or superhuman abilities. (Even though, at the moment, that was not helping his brother at the moment). Trying his best to duck away from the commotion and any possible further shots. "Are you bleeding out right now? What do I need to do?!"

she   opts   to   omit   the   reason   for   the   woman's   apparent   catharsis   ;   emma   had   sat with her   ,   holding   her   hand   and   using   nearly   every   possible   ounce   of   ability   to   pull   as   much   pain   as   possible   into   her   own   body   to   absorb.   it   had   been   agonizing   ,   watching   the   veins   of   her   hands   turn   black   as   she'd   pushed   the   limits   of   her   control   over   the   beast   that   lies   within   for   the   sake   of   the  stranger's  relief .   but   the   blonde   does   the   best   she   can   to   avoid   looking   particularly   afflicted   as   her   body   begins   repairing   itself   after   the   excruciating   feat .
