My First Attempt at Drawing Digitally

And who other than the lovely squidboy to be the subject of my first fanart

I don't have a watermark yet since im not sure if i want to change my username so i put myself in the corner

I don't really draw to often, cuz college projects have been hell for me to manage. I started this drawing like almost exactly 5 months ago and I'm finally happy with it so you lovely people get to see it. Will definitely be re-drawing this at some point in the future, not for now though,, It's a bit pixelated because I started this back when I was completely new to digital drawing and I decided to go in without watching any tutorials... i know better now lol But I'm really happy with how this one came out! I never really considered myself to be an 'artist' before cuz I literally never drew since I've always hated it, but then I got a project where I needed actually draw, decided to get a tablet to draw digitally instead (was not cheap, bless my mother for getting it for me), and I ended up surprising myself with how well I could do. Traditional drawing just wasn't my vibe ig, i'm REALLY happy with the gill details on the neck, it's little hc i had for a while im happy to get to draw it :}, it doesn't make much since since gills are supposed to be in the head for a squid, but he's an eldritch god so who cares

When Merlin was helping Arthur draft an address, which meant writing it for him with the rare privilege of sitting at his desk, Arthur came over and hovered at Merlin’s shoulder. That wasn’t unusual—Arthur was prone to hovering, especially when he was a little nervous before a speech, something he would never admit but showed clear as day to Merlin—but he was lingering longer between his stints of pacing. Upon one such loom, he placed a hand on the back of the chair and his other on the desk, leaning in so close that Merlin could smell his sun-baked hair and feel the tickle of his breath on his ear.

I posted about this project back in June, when I was having tension troubles. I almost frogged it halfway through, but instead, I gave her a nice long four month time-out to think about her misdeeds before circling back.

Mistakes were made, but it all worked out in the end. I forgot to knit the dinosaurs' eyes and just decided to roll with it, and it took a steaming bath and some serious ironing to get the fibers to relax, but she's finished.

I loved your drawing(and I love your style in general) with Leia in your recent post! If/when you have time can we see more of her in your style? I get so happy whenever I actually see people mention/talk about her and she’s not just forgotten because we didn’t get to see much of her. 😭

thank you! 💙💙💙 Leia/Leah/Lea/whatever is fascinating to me. she is the ultimate unknown. what was she like? how involved (or even aware of any details of the invasion) was she? Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

actually you know what, as long as we're here, I think I WILL go ahead and just make some stuff up about what Silver might've inherited from her instead.
