Going to start to queue things up on this blog because I keep forgetting to do that + I might not be super active on here in April!!
I have a hospital appointment in April and I'm unsure if I'll be given meds or surgery. If it is surgery, I obviously will need time to recover which means I'll probably be unable to be online much during it
So I'm going to queue things up, especially for April, both just in case of and because I just want this blog to be more active in general,,

im an afab person who has had long, heavy periods since age 12 (i'll be 17 in december). my record is 13 days of nonstop bleeding. alongside this bleeding is always bad cramping, diarrhea, fatigue, etc. i've been on a hormonal IUD for almost two months now, no change. im afraid i might have pcos or smth but i dont want to be given female hormones for treatment. i cant start T until i turn 18 and move out. what can i do? im on day 9 of my current period and it's really killing me.
Kii says:
13 day periods are not normal. I would definitely recommend seeing a gynecologist to get testing done for things like PCOS, endometriosis, etc.

circelline said: Also have PCOS, and often symptoms are from having too much of both “male” and “female” hormones. If you get a blood test, you can ask your doctor to give you medicine that only lowers, say, prolactin or estrogen and not testosterone or DHEA-S.
maximilian2021 said: I was put on hormone blockers for pcos instead of traditional birth control

I missed my birth control pills for 3 days bc I forget to take them when I'm in a rush for school but I took all 3 of them at the same time. the next day I started my period a week earlier and it's been 9 days since I've been bleeding heavily and I'm worried. I feel so lightheaded and the cramps are nonstop . what do I dooo
To some extent, you wait it out. What you’re experiencing is pretty typical for periods after missing a significant number of pills, and then going over the dose of hormones prescribed. When you miss pills, chalk them up as lost causes and take one per day as normal. There’s no benefit for trying to take missed pills at a later date, or taking more than one pill at a time. As for the period, when you stop taking your pills for a day or two, it signals to your body that you’re, essentially, no longer “pregnant” and it flushes the blood and tissue it built up for that purpose out of you. The combo of that and then the subsequent flood of hormones after you took the three pills is inevitably going to cause a more extreme period. If it continues to be this heavy for longer than two weeks, though, you should get in to see your doctor.
