I like the look and the feel of this method a lot.#In case anyone out there was wondering what the original doodle the Cowboy Wizard Jousting comic was - it was this!#I had indended it to stay a sketchbook doodle but I kept thinking about it - and figured 'why not also use it to do an art experiment?'#The funny thing about using existing characters for this is that this isn't even that far off from what they actually are.#The original pitch for the setting of FFS was 'Cowboy Exorcists'. Which sort of just makes them Cowboy Wizards in a way.#Design wise all I really did here was give them sillier hats.#Fitch isn't boy enough for the boy to be more than a carry over from 'cowboy'#But our Nameless Nobody? Yeah. They earned that Coward Badge good and true.#I have a few more doodles from this (AU? I guess?) That I may post if I'm low energy this week.#I missed drawing these little fellas. I don't think Jayce and Viktor literally died. They were kind of pulled into another dimension/astral plane/whatever you call it. We see older Viktor, and while it could be another Viktor, I think it would be more meaningful if it was our Viktor, finally free from the arcane, going through the universe with Jayce, fixing timelines together. Kind of like a cosmic mission.

Actually feels like I'm losing my mind sometimes 'cause the TDP fandom is the only fandom where it feels like people are hardly at all fawning over the well curated selection of gay DILFs in the series.

Like this is one of the few children's media I know that has canonical mpreg (that's somehow done in a way that's also treated with just as much seriousness as it's treated comedically) and... no one cares? I mean, maybe that wasn't shocking to the fandom at the time and of course a ton of other shit has happened that's gone beyond that (like the cannibalism maybe), but seriously. Surely that should attract people to this show, right?

I mean, tragic old man yaoi became so popular in 2024, I saw everyone talking about it all throughout the year on Tumblr. And no one looked into exploring viravos more through that? Like, what? The way the ship so perfectly aligned with people's ideals for that trope and even hit points that I felt like some people said the most popular ships of that trope weren't able to fit... And if anything it seems like viravos has died down since mid 2024 (around when season 6 came out and when this trope seemed to be peaking in popularity because of the other media coming out at the time that used it) within the show's own fanbase. And it used to be the second most popular ship at that too.

And again, it's one thing for none of these characters or ships to be the main appeal for the fanbase itself... But somehow none of these things draw other people in? That's the crazy part to me. That's what's mind boggling.

i'm sure it's been said somewhere before but thinking very hard about "no man, however great, can know his destiny. like everyone he must live and learn, and so it must be for the young warlock.." like. the very first line of the entire series. explicitly said by kilgarrah to apply to merlin as well. and yet kilgarrah tried otherwise. he told merlin up front what his destiny was and tried to push him away from living through the bad things whenever possible.

and it feels like kilgarrah reflecting on everything after the fact because he thought he could change it!! he thought maybe by telling him the good stuff it could be happy this time. maybe merlin could become the greatest warlock and help arthur become a great leader and fulfil all of those prophecies and make all those great things happen but also he could kill mordred and destroy morgana and erase all his enemies and still be that great person.

except he couldn't, of course. and by telling him and trying to control the narrative kilgarrah sealed his fate; destiny doesn't allow for choices. it just doesn't work like that, and they all learned, and kilgarrah lived and learned and is left simply with that lesson: that no one can know their destiny.

Wish wish wishhhh we'd seen the reactions of Julian's friends to the enhancements reveal. Miles' was lovely, ofc, but we got like, a slice of Sisko and then crickets.

And obviously Garak's reaction would have been priceless, but also what about Jadzia? And Kira? And Odo? And and and... I just feel so robbed every time I remember we didn't see it :(
