Kyoshi AU Where Rangi's a big flirt

Everything's the same until Yun is discovered and he, Kyoshi and Rangi first meet. When Kyoshi and Rangi meet, Rangi goes full flirt (like the type of flirting she does post dating). Absolutely masterblasts Kyoshi out of the damn closet she wasn't aware she was in.

So much so that Kyoshi's like "?????? What is this feeling???? Girls??? I like girls???? HOw do I date a girl????" and is panicking trying to figure out how to reciprocate Rangi's feelings (just say yes Kyoshi!). And she's freaking out so much that Kuruk's spirit literally reaches out to her to give her some advice (he couldn't take it anymore).

And well.....safe to say Kyoshi's screaming and freaking out about this ghost in her room, and now she has a lot more to unpack.

And long story short. That's the story of how Rangi's flirting got Kyoshi a new girlfriend, and had her be discovered as the Avatar in only two months or less.

specifically thoughts about how Sara spoke about love when she was rejecting August and making up with Felice. Acknowledging her feelings for august importantly, but also putting other feelings she held above those. It might have been just the way the subtitles translated it, but I also loved how they used the word 'love/feelings' for august but also sara and Felice's friendship, and also simon. It just means so much to me when friendship and platonic love is treated as just as meaningful and important, perhaps even more so, than romantic. And then also sibling love. Like that final car had all types of love in it. And they had all been liberated from the forces which tried to restrain them. So at the end of the day, true love won. In all it's different glory. And also they all made a conscious choice to get in that car. They all chose to love, and be the people they became when loving each other.

“I’d hardly be the one the Chantry would send to look in on you,” Diya says, leaning an elbow onto the table — the one so irreparably sticky, it'd be better to light the thing on fire than try to clean it.

He shouldn’t be so surprised, he supposes, when the flinch he’s expecting never comes. The leather of her glove seems well worn, dotted with lighter spots and odd scratches where she’s probably had to scrape much worse off it than stale beer and the suspicious stew that's a staple of the Hanged Man's kitchen. 

“So you’re looking in on me for the Wardens, are you?” 

He does try to keep the resentment out of his voice, but he must do a poor job of it because Diya’s smile is downright pitying as she tells him, “I don’t know whether saying yes or no would make you more miserable.”

It’s funny, Alistair’s not sure he knows either.

Neither possibility makes him feel pleasantly foggy, the way he’s been paying good coin for, that’s for sure. He tips head to the side, trying to catch a glimpse of Norah somewhere in the sea of men who by all accounts look undeservedly far more inebriated than him.

He startles when he feels the nudge of Diya’s knee against his thigh as she shifts on the bench, and winces at the feeling of lukewarm ale splashing onto his hand, gathering between his fingers and dampening the edge of his sleeve.

He sets the tankard down on the table, trying to wipe off the worst of it on the side of his shirt.

The blur of motion at the edge of his vision seems unremarkable, until he glances back up to find the table in front of him empty, his ale cruelly stolen away in his moment of distraction.

“Hey! I was—”

The half-hearted protest dies on his lips as she drops a noticeably lighter tankard back on the table, with a weary, “I needed it more.”

The ale’s left a smattering of foam behind on her skin. It wavers, a little, before settling into a pale outline around her lip as she goes on, “and a Warden always ought to be ready to share a drink with a comrade.”

The swipe of a tongue across her lip chases away that trail of foam, leaving behind only a sardonic smile. Her eyes, when he remembers that’s where he ought to be looking, seem more amused than accusing though her words prickle at him all the same. 

“I see you have. Joined, I mean.”

“To carry the duty that cannot be forsworn,” she quotes, in a nearly faultless approximation of an Orzammaran drawl. “Only it seems you managed to forswear it just fine.”

Mentioned this in a previous post, but I am absolutely adoring the healing of the superhero genre. It legit took me a long time to sit down and just admit: the underwear on the outside is unironically cool. The spandex suits are iconic and I'm so glad we're moving away from... just the whole 90s-2010s.

Like if you think the trunks are "too silly", then you completely lost the plot on what you're watching. Honestly another reason I love Spidey. You can't put him in a tank top and have him go around, he has to have the suit (and the classic always looks better than the armored shit) so you have to take the serious moments in bright red and blue.

he so effortlessly understands where people are coming from, and that makes it exceptionally hard to decide who's right, who's wrong, who he should be supporting, who he should be standing against . . . if you genuinely and wholeheartedly understand every single standpoint in an issue, what do you actually fckn do?

that's his achilles heel throughout the show. he has core values he ends up straying from because he's so empathetic toward everyone else's causes. he's gullible because his emotional literacy makes him prone to understanding basically anyone even if he didn't originally agree with them or still doesn't

the recipe for a bIGGER disaster is him also being a people pleaser. he's scrambling to appease everyone, bolstered by his innate ability to put himself in everyone's shoes— yeah, no fuckin duh he ends up screwing most everything up royally because this boy is constantly trying to do the impossible and stretching himself thinner than viktor

i actually began playing on release but got bored with the system + i can only bring myself to care about rafayel. i am however willing to change my mind as soon as i meet the other 2/5 love interests i'm missing because caleb cv,, mm yeah
