DESCRIPTION: You're a new student at your university. You were smart and dedicated to learning. But every uni student gets up to some crazy things, right?

A/N - I have work tomorrow and instead of going to sleep for my day I'm here writing a fan fic. I make very sensible choices.

You take a deep breath. Living on campus was new to you so you were quite nervous to say the least. Going into the dorm rooms you hear people chatting around you. Finding your room number. 16. Opening it with the new key you had. You shut the door behind you. Placing your rucksack down onto the chair in your new room.

You’d not been in education for about a year at this point. Having had a gap year to do some exploring so you had to get back into the mindset of doing if. You rst your head back as the door knocks. SOmeone walks in "Oh hey!" your roommate says. Her bubbly personaltiy being a surprise based on the rudeness of some of the other dorm people that you’d bumped into. "Im Lucky" she comes over to you. Hugging you. You gently pat her back before she moves away. Resting a hand on her hip she eyes you up and down.

Your oversized hoodie and jeans being a contrast to her mini skirt and tight shirt. Both leaving very little to the imagination. You wihs you had the confidence to wear something like that. "Im Luna"

"Oh that is a beautiful name" she says, cuaisng you to smile. SHe hugs you again "I think we're going to be best friends" she says. ALmost squealing as she moves away from the hug. "What is it that you're studying?"

"Art and drama"

"Oh my friend did that last year. I tried but got bored. Everything I do mildly creative ends up looking like a toddler did it” you let out a soft chuckle

“So does mine but that doesn’t mean I don’t try to do it”she laughs “what do you do instead then?”

“I do psychology"

"Thats cool. I was debating doing it but decided against it” a knock at the door stops your conversation as she looks owards it

"come in". she says. SOmeone walks in.

"Lucky do you want to come see my new room?" she nods, looking at you as she stands

"DO you want to come?"

"No Im ok tha k you. Ive got to unpack" she looks at your singular rucksack but nods

"ALright then. See you later" she smiles before walking off. You grab your bag. Taking out your various items. Your diary, book, clothes, etc. SOrting it all out onto your bed before putting it away properly on your side of the room.

Youd moved in on the Saturday. Sunday having a few induction days or various groups you could join. Then Monday being peoples first day at uni. Now it was Sunday. After a night in reading yur book. Your roommate coming in during the early hours of the morning, very drunk. You got up early and explored the grounds. Going over to a stall with various cakes and such on it.

You hear someone letting out a groan beside you. "Hi there Luna"

"Did someone have a good time last night?" you look at Lucky standing next to you. Sunglasses on despite the dark weather. SHe nods. Taking the glasses off as she looks at you. A black eye adorning her face. "Jesus what happened to you?"

"I had a terrible fight. With the floor. ANd lost" you let out a slight chuckle as she picks up one of the cupcakes. The lady at the stall going to speak but she shushes her. Walking off. You grab out a fiver from your purse, placig it down and mouthing 'sorry' to her. Catching up with your new friend. SHe bites down into the cake, a moan escaping her lips as she speaks with her mouth full "That is a bloody good cake". SHe looks at you, swallowing before talking again "what did you get up to last ngiht?"

"Nothing in particualr. I read my book, had a shower, then went to bed"

"You should come out with me tonight"

"I have classes early tomorrow morning so I really shouldnt"

"Oh come on. Itll be fun!" she grabs your arm "I can introduce you to some of my friends. I think you'll like one of them. Hes handsome and he likes books to. Plus you have similar fashion tastes. Oh lets look over here" SHe drags you over to a stall. Making small talk with the person behind it. You both go round to the rest of the stalls. Meeting a couple of her other friends.

The day going past quckly. You manage to convicne your new friend to stay in the night. Inviting her and two of her other friends rund. You stay up till quite late. Talking about a whole variety of things. Sadly things that didnt overly interest you. Boys you found cute. WHat lipstick shade was the best. Hair products. Although you found the conversation lacking in intellect you enjoyed the girls company so engaged in the talk with them.

You found one of the girls was also doing art. So you agreed to walk to class together. Her name was Hope. Sitting next to her in class, you found she had a lot higher intellegence then you initially thought when yo first met her. ACtually having a decent conversation with her until your professor walked in. Then every brain cell she seemed to have rotted away as she practicly stared at her. A young woman. Probably early thirties. Eyeliner perfect, hair styled in a way that looked both messy yet neat. You chuckle slightly. You were unaware that this new friend of yours swung that way, and this was certainly an interesting and entertaining way to find out.

"Please can you all call me Destiny. I would go about the formality of you using my doctorate name but we are here to make art. Not have a tea party with the queen. So-" she says. "I want everyone to pick up their pens. Pencils. Paints. Paper mache. WHatever you need to make a piece that says 'I am me'. You have the rest of the day. I will be judging them when you all go home to some sort of party Im sure"

You pick grab out your sketch book and pencils. Starting to trace your art piece. Noticing your friend still drooling over your teacher. You nudge her. Cuasing her to fall out of the trance. SHe looks at you. Her face turning a wonderful shade of tomato red.

"How much of that did you get?"

"Soemthing about her being our destiny"

"Ok then" you laugh. Explaing to your love stricken friend what she needs to do.

Once she listened she started her piece, as did you. You did a simple piece of work. A black and white picture of yourself. Behind it a mass of colour. Tryng to show that although you appeared dull on the outside, you had a lot of fun to show to those who got to know you.

Hope links an arm with you as you leave the lecture. "Are you coming to the party tonight?"

"You know that we're here for education right? ANd npt to drink ourselves to death"

"Oh come on"

"Ive got a very good book and a film to watch though"

"You can do that any day"

"I can have a party any day" she rolls her eyes.

"Come for like... an hour. If you dont like it then you can go back to your room"

"Fine..."

"Yay!" she exclaims. "I'll be round to take ypu and Lucky at 9. SPeak of the devil!" Lucky walks up to you both. Linking an arm with you on the other side. "I was just telling Luna about our party tonight"

"Youre coming?"

"I am" she squeals. Hugging you close to her. You gently pack her back. "You can borrow one of my dresses if youd like?"

"Oh no. Im not wearing a dress"

"Yes. Yes you are" you give her an uncomfortable look "At least wear a skirt".

"Skirt but a hoodie. ANd tights"

"Deal" she holds her hand out for you to shake. To which yo do.

If this was a movie. There would be a cheesy dress up montage. WHere the popluar girl takes off your glasses and straitens your hair and your suddenly beautiful. But this isnt a movie, so you settle with them doing their makeup in your room. Playing various pop music on their 'top of the charts' CD. Putting some mascara on your, as well as a deep blue skirt paired with a grey hoodie and black tights.

You get to the partry. You stand awkwardly in the corner. Watching men and woman get more and more drunk. With each drink they seem to strip too. Leaving a lot of half naked people around you.

Lucky stuck by your side for the first hour. Getting herself drinks. She had gone off to get drinks some more 20 minutes ago and hadnt returned. Hope stuck by your side though. Not drinking, joining you in a joint sober. You did start to enjoy yourself. You were planning on going for an hour but ended up staying for 2. Not a long time compafred to most people but for you, it was a lot of time to socialise.

So you bid your friend farewell. Telling her that you were grwing tired and would see her in class the following day. SHe agrees. Seeming happy that you had a good time. Sad to see you go but understood how introverted you are.

You head back to your dorm room. WHen you get there you see a tie firmly tied around the door handle. Now, you werent necersarily the most outgong person you knew. But you did know what that meant. So you turn tail. Annoyed that your friends had managed to convince you to not take your tote bag with you book in. You guess youd check the university library and see if they had anything in there to read.

Thankfully the library was run by book enthusiasts so was open 24/7. You go inside. Smiling at the lady at the desk as she smiles back to you. You idle down the rows of books. Seeing if any screamed out at you. You found one in the fantasy isle. Picking it up you turn it to read the blurb.

"Id recomoend this book instead" a voice says. Making you jump back at the suddeness of a male voice. You thought it was only you and the librarian (who was a female). "Sorry, didnt mean to startle you"

"No. No its fine. I just wasnt expecting anyine else to be here" you say. Now that you were over your initial scare you take a look at the man. Dark hair contrasting his vibrant blue eyes. Glasses sat comfortably on his nose as he wears a blazer over a vest shirt.

"I wasnt expectinh to see anyone else either. Normally its just me here reading up on studies". DUe to his youthful featrues yete his smart attire you couldnt tell if he meant in a professor or a student kind of study. He seemed to be able to tell your confusion as he continues speaking. "I work here". He outsteetches his hand towards you. "Professor Crane". Yiu take his hand.

"Luna. Like the moon. Ironic given that I often suffer from insomnia" he chuckles. "What do you study then professor?"

"Psychology"

"No way. My friend is studying that! Lucky... I dont know her last name"

"Yes. I know Lucky" he smiles. Obviously not overly impressed by the name drop. "WHat do you study then? Assuming you do come here and havnt just decided to sneak into a unis library"

"I stidy art. Not quite the level of psychology but still good fun".

"WHat made you come here rather then go out and party?"

"I was at a party but I decided to go back to my dorm". He looks around the library. "Oh no. There was a tie on my dorm door. I know how promiscous my roommate is so I just decided to leave her to it".

"Ahh. Well, if your wanting something to read whilst you wait then Id recomend this" he turns. Taking out a book from the shelf and handing it to you. You take it from him, turning it over to read the blurb. "Its a very good stroy line with some strong characters"

"Ive read this author before. Hes a good writer". You place it atop the oteer one youre still holding. "Ill add it to the pile"

"What book is that one?" he motions to the one your holding. "I saw you get it from the fantasy section"

"Its part of a series I read. Not read this one rhoufh. Its about an angel who solves crimes. Using his powers to force people to tell the truth"

"Sounds..."

"Utterly insane?"

"I was going to say interesting but yeah, that sums it uo better" he smiles. "I have taken up enough of your time. I imagine that you are wanting to get back to your reading. So I shall leave you to it Miss Luna. I hope you enjoy your books. And I hope tat your roommate lets you back into your dorm at some point tonight"

"If not then Im sure the librarian wont mind me camping out here" you joke. Causing him to let out a laugh. Adjusting his brief case before turning and walking out.

The more I think about season 3, the more i realise they gave us the bare minimum while pretending to give us everything. For starter, in their book Lady Danbury and Penelope are such good friends that Polin names their first child Agatha - and it's fine that in the show they have to have a boy to inherit the Featherington Estate -, but is such and important part from "Romancing Mister Bridgerton" and would be so nice for pen to have an actual frience because of the whole situation with Eloise and more so when they made canon (in the show) that Lady D. already figured out she was Whistledown... But no. They discarted their friendship and gave us 5 seconds of Agatha Danbury congratulating Pen in the last episode.

To be fair, if you really think about it, Pen's pregnace is a plot hole. Or at least a hole in the heir plot. This storyline began in last season and was part of the setup for Polin season. We saw Portia changing the inheritance line, we saw the sisters married and trying for a baby to be the heir, we saw the "insert hinself where" and Portia explaing to prudence and Phillipa how to get pregnant... But we never saw Pen discover her pregnance. We never saw Penelope telling to Colin she was pregnant. We saw a baby boy in the epilogue and that was it. "Ah, but Pen touched her belly in that one scene in episode 8". And? If Penelope knew she was pregnant she would never mention and anulement. There's no way.

If you need a reason, the show already stabilished how society sees unmaried pregnant women. Now imagine how wuld it be for a pregnant woman who was shortly married AND come off as The Lady Whistledown. No. Penelope would never put herself nor her child in this situaiton. And neither would Colin - and if you are a Colin fan you don't need me to explain why. So there it is. if not a plot hole it is a story shortcut. Seeing them with their baby in the epilogue was such and adorable moment but the scene loses part of it's beauty considering how much the leads (and especially Colin) were escluded from this storyline and how much we didn't get to see simply because the writers didn't judgy it important.

Another thing that we lost was Colin public love declaration to Penelope, the one were he say he worships the ground she walks upon. I see this as such an important moement for her as she was always an unseen walflower and sudenly their book ends with the man she loved all her life saying f*ck Cressida and her blackmail I'm gonna tell the world my wife is smart than us all and etc. Wich is insane considering the showrunner was playing "f*ck, marry, kill" during and interview and said she would marry Colin because she knows how book fans talk a lot about how Colin is a guy who just worships his wife and that's the kind of partiner you want, you want to be worshiped they turned this beautful moment that is so important for Penelope, Colin and their relationship into "hey y'all, sorry, I'm Whistledown" wich makes no sense to me because the actual Queen of Englad spend the first two season looking for her and the then put an actual price in Whistledown's head but nevermind now is everything okay.

What was the meaning of the Queen threatening Eloise (and the Bridgertons) in season 2 if everything would be fine so easy?

I was so excited they would adapt the reward for Whistledown plot but what we got from it was basically more screen time for Cressida. And when she discovers Pen is Whistledown she gets yet another chance to speak when the writers make Colin go to her... Instead of the Colin who marries Pen knowing she's Whistledown and is very worried about her safety and has trouble understanding they are the same woman but loves and adores her and go full defensive mood the moement Cressida comes for his wife the writers decided to start their marriage with a secret - not to mention have their first time without Colin knowing about Whistledown.

There's also a alleged deleted scene of Colin and Pen in bed talking about Colin's writing wich was, of course, deleted. Something that would not only mean they took away a happy moment from Polin, but also a part of Colin's journey as a character.

Things can be going well and you can still feel out of sorts. I really struggle with going out and being social. I have a pretty small social battery. Also dads are the worst more often than not. I'm convinced. My bf was telling my best friend some stories about some of my rage fits I've had in the past (they still happen but they're not as bad as of late) and I'll tell you exactly what (WHO) the common denominator was in each story. Are you still out of the country at this point? Will you be coming back home soon(ish)? I honestly feel like you're homesick, maybe? Being on pause is difficult. It adds to the drained feeling. Hopefully something changes so you can get back into the swing of things and start feeling less stuck 💕

My sister did a semester abroad in europe and I know europe specifically is weird about ice. Or maybe I'm just INSANE (obvi) because I love ice so much. I want my drink cold. I probs use more ice than liquid but I don't even care. ANYWAY. Upon reading more of your message, I kind of feel like you're going through iced coffee withdrawals and if you had one all your emotions would be cured (I hope you're reading this sarcastically because of course I'm joking because I know it's more than that, but I'm hoping you know what I mean). I'm almost certain coffee fixes everything.

I'm an archeology student, have passion for history and literature, love psychology and philosophy, love things like true crime and paranormal stories, definitely would like to travel and see what the world and people have to offer. I'm the "do it for the plot" type of person, getting into random situations for the sake of seeing how it'll end and if i'll have a story in the end

When i was younger i was more like some kind of vash-milly combo, but now I'm more aware of people, i can't stand when someone is judgy from the beggining, when someone is too negative about the world and people, because even tho i myself get disappointed in people often, i still think that we should look for positive things in everyday life. Kind of "if life has no meaning, might as well find meaning in small things"

UWAAAA I'm so glad you like my writing! I've been swamped with work lately, so sorry this is taking a while!!

For trigun 98, I most definitely match you up with Wolfwood! You are just that little ray of sunshine he needs to keep going. Plus, he loves that you and him make sex jokes to each other about everything that you can. You two get kidnapped and held by Knives? Non-stop dick jokes. At first you try to at least mutter them under your breath, but soon enough you're both just spouting them out as fast as you can think of them. Knives is just standing there in shock that you can think of so many in a short amount of time. I also think you two would be like, surprisingly close beforehand. He a big cuddler too (have you fucking seen those titties MMMMM) and I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL BUT WOLFWOOD IS TERRIFIED OF GHOSTS!!! Yall go ghost hunting and he is ATTACHED TO YOU LIKE NO OTHER. Homie is throwing round the holy water like he's a raincloud. You one day dig up and old book and are pretty sure that its haunted? He's hiding being his giant cross and shaking in his tight ass pants.

In trigun stampede however, Vash latches onto you like white on rice. You are exactly what this poor bean needs in his life!!!! You teach him to appreciate the little things, and show him that he's allowed to have wants and needs. He enjoys taking you around old crashed spaceships and letting you go wild with the archeological zoomies. In this universe, you also get kidnaped by Knives so Vash follows to come and save you and once again, you make so many dick jokes. The only difference is that Stampede Knives has never seen a wiener in his LIFE and doesn't get any joke you make. Do with this information what you will. Vash also really likes showing you his Plant siblings when his spilled the alien beans. You'd probably enjoy just quietly hanging with the Plant girlies because they just watch you draw or read or they nap! they are very nice when you need to recharge a social battery but don't want to be completely alone. Vash is also a big cuddler and understands having trouble keeping connections with people!! He's always moving so he gets sad thinking about all the people he wanted to grow closer too.

If we wanted to hit up the manga, then id actually pair you with Legato! I think you'd be just the right person to help him let himself be a better and softer person. Your love of psychology would really interest him, and I think you'd be that enemies-to tolerated-to friends-to lovers thing. He also likes learning about humans and the past, and I think that's he would really appreciate you showing him to good side of humanity through psychology and even true crime by showing how people come together and how people react to catastrophe and stress. He needs to see people doing good things, and you are just the person to show him around the world and prove it to him

i love love love jk. but i hate that he criticizes his body too much. he's constantly talking about eating 1 meal a day or not eating for a week and just drinking water (which he did during butter mv i think) i mean it's so unhealthy. intermittent fasting is okay! i do it too. im not overweight but i am curvy, built like a door, have a double chin and cheeks. i have cellulite, a little belly fat and stretchmarks. seeing jungkoom constantly touching and poking his cheeks and being like "aah ive gained weight gotta loose it". makes me feel so insecure. i saw myself not eating for 2 days straight when he said he felt like he gained weight, i felt so bad and guilty when i looked in the mirror. it makes me feel like jungkook has major body dysphoria, and it's just not healthy. what's even worse is that he talks about it publicly, knowing very well people out there are dying to have a body like him.

i get it, in south korea it's this whole thing to be very fit and skinny. i mean yes it's a great country for not having too many issues with obesity. but it also makes me so sad thinking that most of the population is so judgy about themselves and other people. correct me if I'm wrong or of im being too emotional or delusional, i feel like he probably doesn't like people who seem overweight? or are chubby? it's been a pattern with jimin as well. it's just so concerning. it's concerning for the members ofc but also the fans :(

hey love. gosh, i'm so sorry that all that talk from the boys made you feel that way :( and i totally understand. i can't say what jk likes about others or not, but he does seem to think about his own weight a lot. i noticed that much about all members, really, the constant touching their faces and comments such as, "my face looks so swollen today" and it sucks that they perceive themselves in such a way when i'd die to be that pretty lol!! but you know.. knowing jk, i'm sure he doesn't do it to make anyone feel bad – the kpop industry has always been pretty strict with their idols' appearance, so i think the boys have gotten used to not eating too much during promotions or being pushed to look skinny and healthy. maybe it has kind of become their mindset atp?

book 3 review + expectations for book 4 (spoilers!!!)

aLRIGHT, i played a thousand times and now i'm ready to finally organize my thoughts about the book.

first of all... the general plot

It was... not that interesing as i thought it would be. it all happened too fast, it was like it didn't had time to digest what it was happening at all. there was also too much happening. Like, was it really necessary to put the blood drive part if it wasn't going to be too much of a threat? It all got solved too quickly, too easy... They even had a plan B that wouldn't allow things to go wrong. So WHY make that big deal out of it? Honestly the mayor/captain can't even force the detective to donate blood like wth.

I liked Sin as character tho, but the rest of the book was all... very rushy and with a lot of dispensable scenes. There's a lot of time skips too, i felt like when i was finally getting imersive in a scene it boop, quickly skipped to a few weeks/days later.

I'm really trying to not be too judgy since it's the third book but it all felt so superficial, at this time we should get more deep into the lore.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the romance with Mason and the fact that I paid for it, i wouldn't even got throught the half of it, sorry.

The writing was also pretty mechanic by the rest of the book. It felt desorganized and really forced at some times. BUT I really enjoyed the romantic scenes tho, i felt like there was more of a effort in it, except in the sex scenes... Idk, I wish it we could put more of our MC's personality in it? It felt mechanic too.

I also really enjoyed Mason's romance, I loved his growth with MC and in general... He was even engaging at the little party at the end of the book! I really got surprised at that. Buuut i'm not gonna lie it felt a little too fast too, but i'm not gonna complain so much about this because I FOUND EVERYTHING SO CUTE AND AAAAHSOIASJDK i love him.

MY EXPECTATIONS FOR BOOK 4

More developtment in the rogues vs the agency question. I don't trust the agency and my MC also doesn't... It doesn't feel right to me that they're portrayed as the good guys and no one questions them. Like... It's all so vague and unreal, come on, that place screams corruption and I think it's not good to treat all the rogues as the bad guys. Like, we don't know what they reasons are? The Agency clearly wants control, we can't blame some supernaturals to not trust them when they literally have to sign a treaty that gives the Agency power over them.

Hopefully, this will be discussed in the game, It should be discussed.

I also want more content about MC's family and her relationship with Rebecca and idk maybe not so much judgement when we don't want to get closer to her. I like her as character but lmao as a mother?? she literally said to MC "enjoy it yourself" about MC's birthday and cmon they were only A KID, there were better ways to talk!! I like Rook more and we don't even have anything of him like cmon.

Also, I really wish our MC's feelings on things could be more aborded. Like all the stuff about how they feel about Rook was never mentioned again... And also their view on Agency and the trauma with Murphy, that was only mentioned idk two times in book 3.

What kind of novels does he write? Which would you recommend to a newbie of his work? Tbh, and I know this is so judgy, but from his last name I get this weird impression he writes horror. LOOOOOOOL okay welllllllllll...you're not that far off? Ted Dekker's forte is the suspense/thriller genre, and he can get pretty intense with it. But he also writes action/adventure/fantasy as well. He writes for adults and young adults too, and the young adult books are definitely not as intense.

If you choose to look into his work, I recommend looking more into the YA stuff. I've yet to read it, but I've heard the And They Found Dragons series is really good. I've read The Lost Books series which is a fantasy series, and I enjoyed it. Any of his YA books should be safe.

There's also a stand-alone novel I recommend called Blink of an Eye. It's a romance, action/adventure book that has a really fascinating premise. It's been a while since I read it, but I think it's more chill than anything else that's not YA that I could suggest.

Mark Greaney is an action writer as well, and he has some stand alone books (at least one anyway) I've yet to read, but his series is The Gray Man series, following an American assassin named Court Gentry, the most unlucky lucky dude I've ever met in my life. He's incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and ends up in a lot of situations he has to get out of.

The Netflix movie of the same name is based on the first book which I highly recommend watching. The series is very fast paced and lots of fighting and lots of curse words in case you're not into that, you need to know. The series has maybe 13 books now? Still going as far as I know. I'm about to start book four.

I’m still not sure how many chapters long this will be, but I’m happy with what I’ve got storywise, and so I hope you enjoy it as well!

A/N: I describe a lot of outfits in detail and it’s taking me back to the yee olde days of cringey fanfics, but I must indulge. It’s Cruella, the fits are essential guys don’t roast me yet.

Also I got very carried away with 70’s slang, I'm sorry in advance. But also I’m not sorry because this is the first time in a long while that I came up with a story that I’m actually proud of so yes.

I hope you have a lovely weekend everyone!” You said with your cheeks flushed and smiling brightly at your audience in the pub as they cheered you.

You swung your guitar off and put it down while gesturing at the bartender for a drink, and then made your way toward Artie’s table. With his arms crossed but returning your smile he said “And you didn’t want to join my band! Now everyone comes here to hear you sing”

“You know I was studying back then. I mean you can never guess how much people will care about your art.” You retorted as you took the drink from the barman, winking at him as a thank you.

“Girl! You sing like a God! You play that guitar so well it baffles me. Your makeup? Stunning. Every time. You have to understand that you are amazing in every way and people love to see you.” He said slurring his words a bit, the Margarita on his hand probably to blame for that.

“You’re just drunk! And you know what? I hate to admit it but if it weren’t for your Cruella friend none of this would’ve happened. I mean, because of that night like a year ago when you cats crashed the Baroness's spring collection with the concert? If you didn’t call me to cover you in here I would be still pouring over those books without actually enjoying myself.” 

“Wow we’re really talking about her” He had his eyes wide open, almost cartoonishly. “What was it you called her after that time? A phony, double coloured bogart?” You took advantage of his surprise to discreetly take the drink away from him, you knew he’d thank you later for not letting him get too wasted.

“I went to drop you off at that shady warehouse and she gave me the hairy eyeball for no reason! I mean, looked me up and down and then told me to Audi 5000.”

“She asked if you were going to stay Y/N”

“But the way she said it! She's mean as hell.”

“She just has a big personality! So do I! And you know I hate boring people, because you are quite the show as well.”

“But I’m not judgy like her. Or tell me I’m not.”

“You’re not.” All of a sudden he looked very sober. “But this conversation reminded me. I kinda told her about your skills….”

“Yes?”

“She’s kinda rushing things for her next show… And needs a good makeup artist.”

“And now I actually have to go there or I’ll be the asshole?” You asked, eyebrows raised.

“Well I just threw it into the air! She designed this dress and I said your style would look good with it!” He answered defensively. “Then I guess she remembered you and really insisted that you doll up some of her models. I think she liked your look that day. I mean, I sure did. The purple dress with the cheetah coat? And your eyes with that purple shadow?”

“Oh so was that why she stared a hole into my forehead? When even? I’ve had a bunch of other pub guys hit me up for gigs, I’m booked like every other night.” You said.

“Well she didn’t really set a meeting or anything. The show isn’t until the 25th of next month anyway, we just have to show up sometime next week and you do your thing.” 

“Okay then… I guess. Tuesday at 3 meet me at my place. I’m only doing this for you okay?”

“Thanks love! It’s not gonna be that bad, I promise.”

Usually you threw your outfits together in two seconds, it came easily to you because you didn’t care enough about how other people would react to it. And as much as you wanted to tell yourself that you didn’t care for this meeting, you did. 

With her being, well, her, you felt that what you wore would speak much louder than what you said, so you spent hours picking and choosing things from your wardrobe, bed lost in the clothes, shoes lost from their pair and jewelry messed up all over your table. 

Why the hell do I care if she likes me or not? I don’t even need this job, it’s just because of Artie. Oh no, if I make a fool of myself then he’s probably gonna be the one dealing with the consequences.

To really make sure you made a statement you decided to clash two opposite styles: First a floral dress in light tones and matching statement earrings, and then a leather jacket, spiked heel boots, a choker and chains for necklaces.

Then it came time for your makeup, and that was easy with an outfit already together: eyeshadow matching the dress, graphic black eyeliner and black lipstick.

After a while you decided to stop staring at the mirror and instead paced your apartment thinking about all the ways this could go wrong. What if she made some awful comment? You weren’t sure you would be able to not snap back. And with all her success she always thinks she’s right for sure, the more you thought about all the nasty things she would say the more annoyed you got.

After you checked that all your makeup was ready to take with you, Artie rang the door.

“Oh my God! I’m living for this” he said while gesturing to your clothes.

“Let’s hope she does too” you grimaced and grabbed your makeup bags.

“She will, trust me I know her. She will shower you with compliments”

“So long as she doesn’t shower me with knives.” At that he rolled his eyes playfully.

“Oh and you can leave those behind, she’s ready to see you and has called some models, and also has the makeup you’ll use.” 

“Okay, so let’s get to it.”

The bus ride there did help to calm you down for the most part, with Artie reassuring you she wasn’t gonna eat you alive and also gossiping about your soon to be coworkers - the ones who worked for years for the baroness were now in less control than him, and he just loved to see their fancy asses frothing at the mouth every time he walked into the room.

Arriving at the (now) House of DeVil you took all the chaos in awe: people carrying rolls of fabric around, tables littered with sketches and pins and all kinds of sewing tools thrown around, people shouting at each other in a franzie to get the next show to be perfect.

And then Artie took you into what you assumed to be her office. She was sitting at her table sketching away on a sketchpad before turning her attention to you. Just the way she had done the first time she saw you, she eyed you up and down and pursed her lips in thought. 

“Alright. Artie, be a darling and call the models in.”

You took your coat off to put in the hanger and waited for her to comment on what you were wearing or your makeup. Except no comment came, good or bad. That probably doesn’t mean anything, she isn’t supposed to comment on your looks, just your work. 

The nervousness washed away once again when you saw the models. It seemed as though every piece that they wore was more beautiful than the one before it, the extreme cuts and insane silhouettes outdoing each other, and every colour matching them perfectly.

Now with a smile on your face, you jumped straight into working and sailed from model to model, finishing each one quickly because of how inspired the pieces made you. As you approached the last one you became very aware of the lack of response from her. She was sitting down fidgeting with the top of her cane, eyes narrowed as she studied your work. When you were done, you stepped aside and looked to Artie. 

She got up and inspected each one of them with the same look about her, and the same uncomfortable silence. To help you out a bit Artie complimented the looks and pointed out the things he loved about them, but that didn’t seem to persuade her to do the same.

“You may go, guys” she said gesturing toward the models, then grabbed a pen on her desk and asked you “What is your name again?” and then when you answered she wrote it down on the corner of the sketch she was doing when you got there. 

“Thank you for coming Y/N. Artie, I’ll need you here tomorrow at 9.” She sat down again and went back to what she was doing, just as if you hadn’t been there at all. He nodded at her as you answered with “You’re welcome” and then you grabbed your coat and followed Artie outside.

Once the cold London air hit your neck, you zipped the jacket up. 

“I don’t know what’s up with her, but that was the first time she acted like that since I’ve known her.” He admitted.

“Great! So she really must have hated it! So much she couldn’t even say how awful they were.”

“Awful? Did you even look at what you did? It was stunning. It was even better than I thought it was going to be!”

“Maybe that’s just you. She definitely hated it. But I mean she could have said so? You know what pisses me off more than just telling me I sucked? Not saying anything! I mean, I would rather she just insult me honestly” 

“It is very odd that she didn’t say you were hired.” When he saw the look on your face he added “But I’m sure that tomorrow she’s going to say something!”

“Yeah, I don’t count on that. ” 

There was no way in hell she liked them. That was the same silence that followed every time someone in the band would suggest a bad melody. Wednesday night Artie came to another one of your gigs and didn’t speak of Cruella until you brought it up. He said she never talked about the makeup for the show and offered one of his apologetic smiles, only confirming how you had wasted that day in vain (also the ones before, worrying like a child, anxious for the first day of school. What an idiot.) instead of rehearsing for the more important shows you had coming up. 

A week had gone by and there was no word from her, as expected. What did come up was the opportunity you had been waiting for since you grabbed a guitar for the first time. A record label was interested in making an album!

With every new concert you brought to the table a different look, and a different genre. Some small local magazines published columns on you and compared you to Bowie- Artie running to you one day, a torn piece of paper in his hand and his eyes full of proud tears- the way you accommodated to every audience, and how you did it so genuinely. 

You never did it for the success, let alone to be a copycat. You stepped on stage and sang exactly what you felt, the strings ringing with the sound of the language your soul spoke. And it came as a bonus that people liked it.

That night you were dressed in a Pin-up style, hands shaking from the emotional performance - an effect The Blues would always have on you- as you sipped your drink. Then a man dressed in a suit came up to you, and introduced himself as the owner of a record label you hadn’t heard much of yet. He explained how he came to know of you and gave you his card before leaving you again.

On the card was this contact information and an address, and then when you turned it to the other side, in a tiny scrawl you read Wednesday the 23rd, 9 AM.

And the next two weeks flew by with anticipation.

Would a “nod of acknowledgment” be liking posts? As someone who has a personal blog, I tried to show my appreciation to fanfic writers by liking most of the posts. Because I have a personal blog, I have friends and family who (unfortunately) are very judgy when it comes to what I post, even going as far as telling and showing the rest of my family my blog. For instance, I reblogged a Sirius Black x reader fanfic once thinking that they wouldn’t see it, but they did. They ended up showing my parents, my grandparents, and my aunts. Despite being a full grown woman, they judged me and gave me a lecture on why reading such things was “unacceptable and strange”. So really, the only way I have and will be able to show appreciation to writers through liking. I really do want to show support because I know writing is difficult and I was hoping that liking was a way to show my admiration and gratitude. Wouldn’t that count as something?

to your question, again i absolutely understand that some people can't reblog. things like comments and sending us asks don't show up on your main profile and can make the day of a writer!! i know i'm speaking for more writers than myself when i say every comment or ask telling me what somebody liked about a fic makes me feel just as warm and fuzzy as reblogs.

I think its funny how different people think pinoe and sue are but they seem very similar. Pinoe is very fiercely loyal and whilst she is friendly and open with everyone her core group hasn't changed in 10+years. I think HAO and Ash said in an interview that the list of people who truly know pinoe and are on the inner circle is small which is like Sue. with the media, she tells the same 3/4 stories in every interview even with the book. Hi! I'm sorry if you've already answered a similar question, but what is your opinion on Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger (both as characters and as a couple)? By the way, I love your art!

Hey! I terribly apologize for having you wait a couple of weeks, hope it’s alright, sorry about that!! And thank you btw!!

So Ron and Hermione are my LOVES. As individual characters, they’re some of the main ones I most relate to, understand, and feel strong adoration towards. I absolutely love Ron because, to me, he is one of the most--if not the most--realistic character. He just feels so... real and tangible in his personality, his strengths and weaknesses so relatable, simple, and human. Many fans often underestimate his character and his importance in the story, which I partly understand but also strongly disagree with, yet it also makes me like him even more, because his significance as an incredible friend, support, and strategist is so underrated and downplayed, when it doesn’t deserve to be. Neither Harry nor Hermione could do the things they’ve done without having someone so clever and loyal like Ron by their side. Goddammit I love dis boi so much....

As for Hermione, obviously she’s a badass and we stan 👏 Her “weaknesses” are probably my favorite things about her; the fact that she’s so unapologetically herself, following her own rules and moral principles, desperate for competency, kinda judgy, bossy, and ruthless, sometimes struggles with emotional candor as well as open-mindedness, etc... I really like her having qualities like that besides just being very intelligent and brave and “perfect.” Idk, I love this woman...

As a couple, also stan. I understand there can be some friction in their relationship, but with time I’ve come to accept that I think that both of them kinda enjoy this dynamic. They both like being challenged, they love to bicker a little to blow off steam, but ultimately I can see them managing to establish a healthy relationship with open communication and incredible mutual understanding. I think Hermione will benefit from Ron’s warm and fun personality, and Ron will benefit from Hermione’s discipline and stability. They both can sometimes find themselves riddled with anxiety, but even in the books you can see that when one of them is stressed, the other one does an incredible job stepping up and keeping everything together, which I find very important. They both can be very conscientious, dutiful, and committed, so as long as they share the same values and life goals, they’ll be killin’ it together.

so it wasn’t exactly a new year’s resolution

but I did tell myself that this was the year I'd actually get serious about my library list and start reading some books!!!

(I always say I like reading, but that is a lie. I am given to understand that people who like reading like reading just about anything and everything, especially classics of all types that I find deathly boring and rudely dismiss as "something you are forced to read in school" [luckily, I seemed to go to a lot of schools/take plenty of classes that were lax about making us read lol so I have successfully managed to NOT read so very many classics]. What I like is endlessly rereading the same small selection of books I already know I like, or waiting 5+ years after someone's recced me a book to decide that probably there is a 95% chance I will definitely like it so maybe I should pick it up after all??)

a n y w a y I'm going to broaden my literary horizons by still avoiding ~classics~ but at least looking at things that seem to be popular and decently likely to be enjoyable to me personally, on the grounds that "look, you, it's not like you have triggers or anything, you are just a jerk and what's the worst that can happen if you start reading a book and it turns out you don't like it? You read really fast so how much of your life can you possibly waste doing this"

Dragonriders of Pern, Anne McCaffrey This wasn't actually this year, BUT it was part of my first failed move to library more things so it counts. First, let me shame myself: in 5th grade we had a Pern short story in our lit book. It was great. It was exactly up my alley, it had dragons, it was good. I knew I would love these books. I knew I would have such a good time reading these books. I did not actually put in a request at the library until I was like 30. So in that regard, supes, I got on reading Ancillary Justice really fast loooool. Anyway the short story was my typical favorite thing, about a boy who is on the fringe and doesn't have close friends but he ends up with the coolest dragon chosen-hero style and it's great. This is what I expected Dragonriders of Pern to be all about. The first book is not at all about this. Maybe future books are better, because at the end there was a mention of them pushing their society to be more like the way it's set up in that short story, but like. I just can't. Push through to see. The two main dudes were cool for the first 10 pages but then they just. Became jerks. The women could have been cool but I couldn't stomach how the men viewed them (wow maybe if you didn't abuse your gals and then be mean to them when they get depressed they might? Be less?? Depressed??? JUST A THOUGHT.) I didn't sign up for baby dragons violently maiming and murdering children as a special bonding activity??????? I signed up for kids cutely bonding with eggs and then being bffs when the eggs hatch??????????? I tried but it's gonna have to be How To Train Your Dragon franchises for me, sorry.

Earthsea, Ursula K. LeGuin Another series I should have read as a child. I tried the first book back at the time I tried Dragonriders of Pern, and let's be clear--it was not bad. It just didn't hook me, the way it captivates so many other people, so I never borrowed any of the other books. I tried again at the start of this reading binge, and I managed to get to the middle of the third book before I quit. I wasn't invested in the characters and story, it was pretty depressing, also I marathoned a bunch of it while I had flu/pneumonia so maybe that didn't help either. Sorry, Earthsea, I should have been more proactive and grandfathered you in as a child, like I did with Narnia, so I could share this Earthsea nostalgia with everyone else.

The Raven Tower, Ann Leckie This technically isn't part of my reading list because I had zero hesitations about reading more Ann Leckie lol. I just want to say, I highly recommend all her stuff and read The Raven Tower it's! Good! I highly enjoyed the second person pov narrative conceit that's like "Can you hear me? Can you hear me now? Well I'm just going to keep talking until you can hear me. Here's some relevant backstory. Can you hear me? Maybe you're sleeping or something so I'm just going to narrate for you exactly what you did today until you realize I'm speaking to you and you listen to this very important backstory context I'm giving you, ffs can you hear me already." Like, it wasn't specifically framed as such, which I appreciate, because when one tries too hard to apologize/explain away a narrative choice that logically doesn't make sense, it now makes even less sense after you called attention to it and that bothers me, so since this didn't do that I was free to read in what I liked and it felt very clever.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams Errr so I started this because it's been on my list for ages and the roommate just picked up a used copy of the trilogy so it was readily available without me having to put forth much effort. And a mutual Pratchett-loving acquaintance told me she also adores Hitchhiker's Guide, so. I…….am in chapter 8 of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe and that's? Where I stopped?? To read everything else on my list that I'm enjoying way more??? Hitchhiker's Guide is as it was billed to me, it's funny and witty and all, but...idk, for me it toes the line of what I actually find funny? I think mostly why I'm bored and lost motivation to continue is two reasons: 1) Arthur Dent is ordinary and boring, and as an ordinary and boring person who would also, if on a space adventure, just be whining about how inconvenient it is that I can't get tea instead of marveling at the marvels of the universe--I don't want to read about how boring I am! I wanna read about someone cool having adventures!!! and 2) I think to me it's showing its age a bit, esp. like in regards to Trillian (she's a cool independent brilliant beautiful woman who don't need no man so why is she still trailing behind Zaphod, not doing anything cool of her own, and putting up with him being a jerk to her??? Plenty of current writers have moved beyond that type of story and I could be reading that instead!!! so I went and read that instead.) I guess, since I'm not very invested in any of the characters, the experience has a kind of flat feel to me. I may come back later and try to finish it? I have left my bookmark in it and put it on my own bookshelves to shame me, so we'll see.

I'm looking into converting (just emailed a synagogue for the first time today!!) and I'm really excited about it, I've researched Judaism a few times before and considered it, and then it would fade but it keeps coming back and it's never been this intense before, like it was speaking to me before but now it's singing. But even tho I'm 21 I still live with my obnoxious atheist parents, so I'm like sneaking around hiding books and being vague about what I'm doing in the library. IDK if i have--

omg wait you liked the deal?? what did you like about it? to me, the characters were like SO flat and had no personality at all, it was all very I'm/she's not like other girls, and just.. he was so controlling?? the way he banned other guys on campus from dating her?? I would have left his ass so fucking fast, it's so encroaching and invasive. they were also both so judgy and the slut-shaming omg!!! he also couldn't take no for an answer when she told him she didn't want to drink like the first three times and then she dead ass says "I'm not going to waste my time or energy either, not on some pathetic, screwed-up guy who couldn't take no for an answer" about that other guy when her literal boyfriend does the same?? yeah idk, that being said, I was still somewhat entertained and I did read the whole thing. I'm happy you liked it though, sorry this got so rant-y lol yeah I'm just curious what you liked about it :)

Dont apologize! In my opinion, all of these amazon unlimited romances are the same on some level—the main character is either flat or way too much, the guy is ALWAYS controlling in some way, theres always going to be like very problematic things in these books...because its just the shit romance genre. So my 4 stars is a 4 stars against the other shit romances i read, but obviously if i was rating it against like “gentlemans guide” it would be like a 2 or something lol

Uhm but also i have this condition where controlling men and assholes and possessiveness makes my 🐱🦋 if u know what i mean so like i thought it was hot even tho objectively, it is not...but im toxic so🥰 i also thought it was the most realistic shit romance i had read in a WHILE so it automatically earned points. And the mc was normal—the author didnt try and make her super quirky or anything
