I think a couple of months.

what led you to create it?

I wanted to find a place to share and talk about my stories and OCs and meet other creative minds.

what’s your favourite thing about the writeblr community?

The support. The overflowing creativity that inspires me to keep writing and the lovely people I've met so far.

what’s one thing you’d like your mutuals to know about you?

That I appreciate every type of interaction, really. Even if you want to reach out to ramble about your stories, I always welcome it. ( Although I won't do the first step because I'm socially anxious and awkward)

is there anything you’d like to see more of on your dash?

I like my dash how it is, but I would love more positivity, any kind of positivity. People need to know that they are loved and appreciated, because everyone is.

which wips or writing projects are you noodling about, lately?

I'm currently writing on a WIP called "Daisy." It's a werewolf romance story with some drama sprinkled in.

God, I don't know. Long? I often forget because I work on others in between so I lose track on when I started what.

It was born in my "Wattpad-werewolf-story" era. (I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I basically inhaled those type of stories)

The Adrigami Breakup Was Hot Garbage.

This is the episode where Adrien and Kagami break up. The reason why they broke up is because Adrien is Cat Noir and will always have to hide things from Kagami, and she's not having it. It's an episode about how the job of a superhero demands sacrifices, about how Adrien lost his girlfriend to his duties.

But this entire thing falls apart due to both Adrien and Kagami acting from out of character to infuriating. Adrien isn't actually shown to face these struggles as Cat Noir. We don't see him "being a responsible superhero" he's just goofing around and getting Ladybug's attention.

Adrien: Finally! Free at last! Plagg, claws out!

And here when Ladybug doesn't show up to their daily patrol:

AdriCat: So, Mr. Banana! Life's peachy, huh? *gets ignored*Peachy? Banana? Get it?.. Forget it.

AdriCat: So! Mr. Ramier! It's been a while since you were akumatized, right? Kinda miss being Mr. Pigeon? You haven't been feeling depressed? Or desperate? Or angry? Annoyed maybe? Not even a little perturbe?

Mr. Ramier: Thank you for asking Cat Noir but I am in the best of spirits, really!

This is the face Adriem makes after he says he's feeling good and isn't gonna get akumatized:

AdriCat (disappointendly): Well I guess I'm out of here then.

Mr. Ramier: Say hello to the lovely Ladybug for me!

AdriCat: Sure thing! If I ever see her.

Literally, this entire first act is establishing that Cat Noir is sad and lonely without Ladybug to the point where he wants people to get akumatized. Like go back and watch the episode this is insane.

Only after that we get to Kagami. And the relationship is.. off. Kagami lies to both their parents to buy her and Adrien time alone in the art room. She asks him to pose for a sketch, he makes a couple model poses, and the bullshit begins.

Kagami: These are all modeling poses. Try something that's more neutral, more you.

Adrien: What about – meow! *Makes a Cat pose* I mean, now? *nervous chuckle*

Kagami: No. You're not at all neutral.

Adrien: Yes I am, I promise. This is me.

Kagami (intensively): No. That's you when you're being silly.

She's downright rejecting his true self and being a control freak. Where did this come from? They used to crack jokes and have genuine fun together (ie Desperada). This is extremely out of character. But it's not over..

Adrien: What if when I'm being silly, I'm really me?

Kagami: *Gets up closer to gently make him pose*

Adrien's expression is.. um-..

Kagami: There. This, is really you.

Adrien: Do you really think..

Kagami: Yes. You're... perfect. *Leans for a kiss*

What does this scene tell us about their relationship? It tells us that it's toxic, that Kagami is controlling, doesn't care for Adrien's boudries and refuses to see who he really is. Which as I mentioned, goes against her characterization in previous episodes.

After whatever that was Adrien keeps getting called to his duity as Cat Noir. This back and forth continues for a while. But as we established, it's not a meaingful sacrifice to leave Kagami because being a superhero is just professional (and not so proffesional) playtime for him. And the episode keeps on reminding you that all throughout. We cut from Kagami being alone at a party they were supposed to go to together, to this:

AdriCat: Ma'lady, it's been a while since I had this much fun.

Ladybug: *Laughs* If battling a super villian with 3 eyes and a giant monster budy is your idea of fun, I can't imagen what your other days are like.

And in the same conversation:

AdriCat: You can count on me, and my jokes, Bugaboo!

Ladybug: Well, you don't have to over-do it.

AdriCat: The truth is, I only ever have this much fun when I'm with you.

And then he comes back straight to Kagami like nothing's wrong. She confronts him about his lies to her and gets akumatized.

Even when he fights Akumatized Kagami to save her, they still make a point at showing you he's having fun.

AdriCat: I can't wait to see what you're gonna do with a drone.

And his reaction after Ladybug confronts him about sacrificing himself:

Ladybug: Seriously you've got to stop doing this to me!

AdriCat: Yeah, but I can't resist this angry little pout of yours when you bring me back.

Excuse me?

And then, I am not kidding, while still being with Kagami, this happens:

Adrien: *Stares into the sky* Oh, Ladybug...

Plagg: Aww how romantic! I get it, even if I do love every cheese on the plate, I always come back for my favorite.

After fencing class they have the conversation. The break up is caused by Kagami not being not being able to trust Adrien. And this is how thw show, including Adrien himself, frames it too.

AdriCat: You know the difference between us and the rest of the world, ma'lady? We can't be completely honest with each other. We keep secrets, and sometimes we have to lie.

Okay, let's sum everything up:

He emotionally cheats on Kagami and is willing to admit it out loud with no shame.

He loves that subject of infatuation so much to the point where he's openly sad about monsters not attacking Paris.

Shows no remorse to leaving his girlfriend every time they are together, and very explicitly enjoys his time with another girl he's in love with.

At the end of the episode him and the writers push all the bs under the rug and claim Adrien is just following his duties.

....Wow. I remembered Lies being a terrible episode for Adrien but it wasn't until I watched it again that I've realized how much Adrien sucks. I am trurly baffled. Top tier character assassination.

And let's not forget Kagami. What the hell was that? Why did she act like that? Why all the sudden she's toxic and controlling?

Well, all of this nonsense is done to serve a very obvious not-so-hidden hidden agenda: Ladynoir good, Adrigami bad. The writers pretended to tell a genuine story about the duties of being a superhero but couldn't help but sneak in this horseshit. They essentially wanted you to subconciously pick up on what this episode is really trying to say: Kagami doesn't know Adrien's true self, she forces him into the "perfect role" and is incompatible to him. While Ladybug knows his true self. Therefore, Adrien can only be happy with Ladybug.

Kagami isn't controlling and incompatible to him. But that didn't matter to the writers, they have a message to put out. They had retcon her characterization to create a contrast that didn't really exist.

And this applies to Adrien too. He needed to be happy to leave his girlfriend to push the... "message". He needed to emotionally cheat on her like he did to push the message. He sacrificed himself so it would show his so-called love for Ladybug. He wanted people to get akumatized so he could be his true self with his beloved Ladybug. But all of these things don't make him to be compatible with her and destined to be with her, they make him an a$$hole.

And I'm not gonna buy into this message they snuck in there with retcons and infuriating behaviors.

Ahhhhh, a case of tumblr's "how dare you say we piss on the poor" reading comprehension, once again found in the wild. I don't think I've ever seen you call Ganondorf a good guy, or misunderstood. From what I've seen you, and anons, say you'd wish there had just been more depth to him. Very different than "secretly misunderstood uwu baby" not like him having an actual personality and story would have negated him being a horrible person. A character born from misunderstanding and hardship, can still turn into an unquestionable monster and villain.

Oh well, I mean the thing is, it's the kind of position that it's hard to argue with once you already made your point. Not everybody just... has the tools to understand the actual argument too, which I mean, it's why I think it's important to talk about themes and cultural shortcuts and the history of tropes on top of the general history, because in many cases it needs to be actively sought for.

And yes, I think what bugs me with this whole thing is... Like, wouldn't it make for a better story? Just, pushing all of the more sensitive reasoning of representation to the side (even though it's not neutral to constantly demonize men of color or render them lovingly stupid, which does remain a pattern in the series), wouldn't the story gain more momentum and investment if the bad guy had compelling motivations that made sense (and I'm not even saying they have to go all poor little meow meow, they could just be: why is Power a good thing for him)? I honestly don't see what it would remove, I only see advantages to making Ganondorf slightly more complex, and I don't really understand the opposition to that. Are you guys like... okay with the most generic anime man motivations known to mankind spurred out of his mouth in a way that is basically completely indistinct from any other generic baddie out there? Like is this peak quality? Can't we be like "Nintendo, your game is great, but you kind of cheesed this thing a lot of people expected you to handle better and with more thoughtfulness, like I'm not sure I would have been able to tell if you had gotten Chat GPT to write this instead of an actual person, and your unwillingness to take narrative risks is getting a little concerning. TotK is a very fun game, but maybe reinvest in the narrative department next time because it was not the best you could do and you probably know this"

And like... for this to be a normal and reasonable opinion to have and share?

I don't know, the defensive atttitude about Nintendo when their games are faced with extremely mild complaints all things considered is just an extremely puzzling phenomenon to me.

Thanks, anon! I rewatched Nimona with my cousin just last week AND reread the comic, so you're in luck because I have a bunch of new thoughts and headcanons.

(WEEWOO WEEWOO, SPOILERS for the comic and the movie below, proceed at your own risk.)

- At the beginning of the movie, it's implied that Nimona was there for every step of the kingdom's development, or at least keeping tabs on it since she knew about Gloreth's knights. Did she disguise herself as a rando civilian, like she did in the comic when checking on Ballister? If so, how long did it take her to assume her default human form again? Until Gloreth passed on? Until there was no one alive who remembers her human form?

(I say "default human form" in like a humansona sense and not the default sense, though. She seems used to retaining a specific appearance for each form she takes, unless she's shifting for disguise purposes.)

- Baby Ballister literally ripping the head off the horse he was attacking is kinda cute, but also very sobering when you remember that if the Institution had accepted him wholeheartedly, he would have become their greatest asset but also Nimona's second greatest enemy besides the Director. It's a great way to establish that he was ready to fight and die for the Institute even before it begrudgingly accepted him, not because ND randomly decided to make him a sad little meow meow who struggled to find a purpose beyond serving the Institute.

- Meredith Blitzmeyer, my beloved, it was truly a tragedy that your character got cut from the movie but it needed to be done. A device that stops Nimona from shifting, in a movie where shifting is a metaphor for queerness and possibly neurodivergence? Nah, that would have ruined the whole plot.

- (I would have loved it if the movie revealed she was the one who developed the laser sword and the Director's laser staff, though. Give me a chaotic neutral scientist with no concept of the consequences that come with making things for evil people, any day.)

- When I first read the comic, I struggled to interpret Nimona's final words to Ballister: "I was just playing with you". After rereading it, I'm pretty sure she wasn't. Movie Nimona and Comic Nimona's arcs seem similar on the surface, but Comic Nimona canonically looks her age because she didn't become a shapeshifter until some time after Ambrosius blasted Ballister's arm off. Ballister may be the movie's freshly traumatised character, but it's Nimona who plays that role in the comics.

- What this means is she probably DID see herself as a monster even though it was an unhealthy way to define herself, and she was looking for someone who'd tell her, "You're right, this is you, and I accept it." instead of trying to comfort her by denying this part of her identity. Hence, why she was so hurt when Ballister tried that exact wrong answer with her, and she reacted by denying their bond was real in the first place.

- That being said, I highkey suspect Comic Nimona only survived because Ballister DID get through to her. When she tells Ballister that she will disintegrate after splitting herself, Ballister insists that SHE'S the strong part that will survive, not the monster and more importantly, he apologised to the monster after beating it AND calls it by Nimona's name. She saw with her own eyes that Ballister not only acknowledged both parts of her identity in the end, but also saw the humanity in her even when she herself believed what the world told her: that she was a monster.

- This definitely influenced the "Movie Nimona is passively suicidal" plot point because both near-deaths feature Nimona succumbing to the world's hatred against her, and it's Ballister who has to pull her out of that self-destructive spiral. The only difference is the movie wanted to show how disproportionate and irrational queerphobic oppression is, while the comic zeroed in on the hypocrisy of fearing Nimona's destructive tendencies while the Institute was the one who could have poisoned the entire kingdom by accident.

- (Grabs you by the face) Do you understand how feral this realisation made me? Do you understand the danger of queer people accepting their "deviance" without stripping away the label's negative connotations before it can mess with their self-perception? DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW BADLY ND STEVENSON DRAGGED QUEERPHOBES IN BOTH VERSIONS OF THE STORY?

Cat R. Waul (An American Tail: Fievel Goes West) - he's an evil villainous capitalist businessman. he's skinny. he has a posh English accent. he has brief occasional moments of showing weakness or emotion but ultimately can't be saved or reasoned with. his downfall comes when he's betrayed by the one good guy he sort of had a soft spot for. he wears a top hat. Need I say more?

Rattigan (The Great Mouse Detective) - this guy already had his day in the sun as a sexyman on certain other websites. given the chance he would've taken tumblr too

Ebenezer Scrooge (Muppet Christmas Carol) - okay this one might be a stretch but listen. What is Ebenezer Scrooge if not the original poor little meow meow? Throw in a charismatic performance and some catchy songs and there you go

Uhhh... I feel like this opinion is very middle-of-the-road, but I'm sure it'll irritate some people.

I don't get the push to turn Tom Riddle/Voldemort into some whiny babygirl, poor little meow meow stereotype. I also don't think he came out the womb a Machiavellian monster, nor do I think he's infallible -- he's just a dude. An incredibly clever, ambitious, terrifyingly competent dude who had no responsible adult to look up to or provide any sort of positive guidance and who lived in fear of dying despite his staggering power. But a dude nonetheless.

Note: I'm not saying people can't write, draw, or headcanon him as any of those things. Do what makes you happy! They just aren't my cup of tea.

I have a question as a humble anon. Im curious but, how do you feel about him as a character? And how AOT ended? I feel like your answer will be fun to hear. :) I had mixed feelings but idk. Seeing him made go "oh no" because like, I forgot the existed, lol sorry but also because of all the infighting that happened in the fandom. So I was wondering if you had any thoughts?

{{ Oof. Okay, so--I think I'm not the best person to ask about this because when THAT happened in the fandom, I was highly confused as to why people hated it. I legit didn't understand. I had to go back and re-read the manga and I still didn't understand why people were pissed? But looking back on it, I can see it. Before I continue on that point, I'll answer you:

I adore Eren. He's my poor little meow meow. My smol angry husbando. He's a complex, traumatized, aggressive, violent fucker. I love him. Many of my current muses are on the spectrum of 'ready for violence for whatever reason'. I think it's okay to like him. Folks don't owe you a ten page essay rife with sources as to why they like or don't like a character. Moral judgements shouldn't be made about what piece of fiction someone engages with; you're not their parent and shaming isn't cool, whether you're fine with what they like or not. Very rarely will you change their mind, and instead of blocking them/moving on, you're just making yourself upset/creating an unsafe/unwelcomed environment from those who think and engage with the source material differently from you. Putting the rest under a read more because spoiler territory.

With that said, the ending was fine--I quite liked it! It's tragic and sad for sure, but I had no illusions about Attack on Titan ending horrifically. It's a dark fantasy story that began with what's left of humanity defending itself from flesh-eating monsters picking them off one by one. If . . . you thought a story like that would have a happy ending (or would have romance in it--a complaint I saw in many, many places), I have to ask why. Why is that where your mind is when there's death and destruction on every page? Then the plot twist--Titans are actually people, and they were created and planted in strategic places around the world because of [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS]. It's so fucked. You'd be lucky if your favorite character survived to the END. (Which, didn't happen for me. As I said, Eren gets love around here because I adore how layered he is. I did mourn another character who died earlier, though. And Eren's response to her fate broke my heart; yet another thing the fandom twisted around and made into something it's not). Point is--there is no real 'moral lesson' to AOT. It's a dark story made to entertain. The theme is "senseless violence begets senseless violence". It's funny because I was talking about this recently with the Eren I write with (@scarlxtleaves). Isayama himself in many interviews stated he just made it because he wanted to. Many times he was pressed for an answer and that's what he kept saying. There was one interview I remember where he did give a 'proper' answer (a generic answer about hope/optimism/determination, I think? Don't quote me on that), but it was because he was pressed for one--as if people couldn't just take him at his word. It's a bit sad, honestly. Not everything needs to be so deep--which brings me back to the fandom.

I think many people took the ending out of context, Eren out of context and used the manga as a way to attack Isayama. Many people were upset their ships didn't happen, some felt betrayed that Eren turned out be the ultimate villain/antagonist, some even went as far to send him hate mail, tell him his manga was horrible, that he should d*e, etc etc. Again, in hindsight, I understand all of this. I got whiplash too. 😂 I was like "for real??????? Y'all deadass rn???? Someone say SIKE" but nope, that's who he was--which encouraged me to reread and rewatch EVERYTHING. It all clicked and I went "how the hell did we not see this?!" 😭 So yeah, I get that Eren doing the Rumbling is extreme--but that's the point, he's BEEN that extreme since chapter and episode 1. We just didn't pay attention and thought he was bluffing. That's not the character's fault. And it doesn't mean he's written badly. He's not.

We just thought he wasn't gonna stand on business. Eren Yeager stood on that shit, 10 toes down. Genocide IS extreme (it always is, no doubt about it--and I'm not a fan of those who call Eren fans/appreciators genocide apologists because whoa??? Buddy, it's not that serious???? Again, we're not in school, we're not getting tested for morality or what have you, please take a chill pill. You're NOT getting a medal for being more moral or 'gooder' of a human than me because of . . . what character I like??????), but I get it. Don't blindly cheer him on but also: AOT Earth is NOT equivalent with our Earth. The cast is dealing with abnormal situations that we don't (people turning into giant weapons/human eating monsters, a government conspiracy to continue using SAID monsters, a even more secret plan by multiple world governments/nations to wipe out a defenseless island of people who have NO direct connection with the vile Empire that spawned them, etc etc). So if you're gonna put Eren on a crucifix, put the Marleyan government on that shit first. They LITERALLY are the reason why Eren's mom (and many innocent people) died/became mindless killers (the Titans), which made him want to kill them all in the first place. Put Grisha Yeager on that shit too, because he was a deadbeat ass father who ONLY had Eren just to pass on the Attack and Founding Titans BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD HIM TO. He's the same thing as Gaara's father from Naruto. Same reasons why they had their youngest sons. EXACT SAME. Unlike Rasa, Grisha never apologized to Eren. Not once for bringing him into such a cruel world, not once for forcing the Titan serum on him, not EVEN for SHORTENING HIS LIFESPAN (Eren would die at 23 or until someone else killed/ate him for his Titan powers), none of it. Annie, Reiner, Berthold--they BROKE. The wall. And allowed the Smiling Titan in--the same one that ate Eren's. Mom. Like, c'mon now!

Your fave blorbo and the poor little meow meow, from the most recent fandom you're currently in?

Get ready for a long answer!

So recently I've been hyperfixated on Leqgue of Legends, as silly as that sounds. Specifically, I've been reading into the lore of the characters and the world and got hooked on that! Funnily enough, both answers are in this picture.

My blorbo (Overall favorite) is Kayn, his full name actually being Shieda Kayn. He was born in Noxus, an extremely violent nation focused on war and conquest. When he was just a little kid, he was abandoned by his parents and conscripted to the army. After a disasterous battle in Ionia (a nation across the sea from Noxus that they are constantly attempting to invade) where he was basically used as a meatshield, he was abandoned again and left for dead. After being taken in by another champion in the game, Zed, he was trained in the art of shadow magic and killing.

Even though he was born in Noxus, he absolutely despises his homeland. He went through so much hell and trauma over there that he basically sees red whenever he even glimpses at the Noxian insigna. He is devoted to Ionia ans has sworn loyalty to the cause of driving the Noxians out.

As for personality, he's snarky and sarcastic, slightly overconfident and smug, but also highly disciplined and genuinely a good person deep down. His body, mainly the right side (his red arm and weird mask looking thing over his right eye) is corrupted, specifically by the second answer to the ask.

My poor little meow meow (problematic fave) is Rhaast, who is actually the weird scythe he's holding in the picture! Rhaast is a Darkin, a being from the faraway land of Shurima. The Darkin were once Ascended, basically godlike beings, but long story short, they became corrupted and twisted. They waged war on the heavens and the world itself, and as punishment, they were each sealed in a weapon. However, if they can corrupt someone through the weapon, they can get that someone to be their host... Unfortunately for Rhaast, however, he happened to pick Kayn as his host. Kayn's extremely stubborn when it comes to losing and is proving much more difficult to corrupt than anticipated...

They met when Kayn was sent off for a mission on Noxian soil. Basically, him and a fellow acolyte were to intercept a Noxian transport that had gotten hold of a powerful weapon. After they fpund the weapon, they were to destroy it, as it had power no one should ever wield. Rhaast then pulled a One Ring maneuver and coaxed Kayn into picking him up instead... Now they're in a constant struggle against each other.

Rhaast's personality is Violence. Just violence. He's very bloodthirsty, and if he had any say-so, I'm pretty sure he'd kill anyone he sees. He's a murderous entity who just wants to kill and destroy. He's probably rabid. In his current state, he can't do much other than commune with his possible host and attempt to corrupt him, but let it be known that he and Kayn do not like each other. They bicker like two people who would probably kill one another as soon as they have the chance... which is literally their dynamic haha

Overall, I'm rooting for Kayn to win the struggle because he's just so babygirl tbh??? But there's something about Rhaast's line ingame that I always find fun. He's a monster and he knows it, and I like that.

Hi!

It has been a few days and your advice has done wonders. I have dumped almost every book I own in the room, and although I'm not yet sure how they like my collection of fantasy YA, manga, and a questionable monster romcom, it has helped. I am still looking for tea they like as I am quite boring and only drink jasmine tea. The chessboard... we're working on that. I tried one supervised session and... well... let's say that we all lived. Barely.

As for chapter two... I thought I was over my irrational fear of things happening to eyes after that one scene in final destination. I was wrong. I was very very very wrong. The description was gross. I hated it. I can still feel my skin crawl if I think about it. I can feel the panic that Zayis felt. It was gross. It was marvelous.

I wish I could write a 1000-word essay with proper words and sentences that make sense to describe my thoughts. Unfortunately, it would just become word-vomit of how good it is, how much I love these two idiots, your ability to just make me feel things, and to want to protect them at all costs. They're like scrunkly feral little kittens. must. protecc.

i’m so glad to hear the suggestions worked out in your favour! from personal experience, i know that, while their tastes may vary, if the two of them get desperate enough they'll read pretty much anything. especially zayis who (and don't tell her i told you) has been known to indulge in a few monster romances in her time.

as for the chessboard, i can only imagine the hijinx that occured. hopefully astarion played fair and zayis didn't break the board in half. (she does that sometimes when astarion wins too many games.)

regarding chapter two, apologies for the descriptions of ocular trauma. as someone who also has eyes i felt a bit squeamish myself writing all that so i can't imagine reading it without prior knowledge as to what's going on. hopefully i didn't traumatize you too much. just enough to keep you on your toes.

Probably those little acrylic shaker charms that are like, a pocket of air or liquid shaped like a snack/gummy package or a drink and full of thematically relevant objects? I have a KH with a paopu in it. I can see there for SURE being one of those for like, at least Isaac.

His and Moira's come to mind easiest. Isaac's full of the little thermoses of blood and wooden stakes and tiny books. Moira's with little art supplies and a tea kettle and like, a little mini Moira in her blanket cocoon. Yeah, I could see that being a thing.

Gods, okay, so this is something I have, ehhh a marginal amount of background towards figuring out given the circles I've shared my work in.

With that knowledge I'm gonna say it'll probably end up being Daniel or Isaac. I am not afraid to say they are the type who will end up being pathetic meow-meow typed. Scrunkly. Peak blorbo. I'll stop using internet words I'm barely aware of now.

Anyways. Daniel is the tragic backstory ex mass murderer turned soft parent-friend. He holds the vamp-house together, he keeps them alive and safe and is the one with everything to lose if his past comes knocking. People will eat him up.

Isaac, almost gets murdered multiple times within a very short span of time. He's a bleeding heart, he's offering up his time and his resources for someone he tried to kill two days ago, he's walking into a house full of vampires just to try and save the one barely-still-human life another moment of suffering. He's in love with a monster. He's becoming the monster. He is conflict incarnate. Yeah.

Yeah. it's between him and Daniel.

"H-holy fuck," you add from the couch where you lounged. Horrified is only a fraction of the way you feel; pride, surprise, dread, /and/ horror show as cracks in your breaking voice. "I-I mean m-meow-..."

Her attention /snaps/ to you, wide eyed and feral. ". . .YOU CAN /TALK/!?"

You stutter, you stammer, you reach for routes of escape that evaporate as you think them. She knows now. You want to hide from the situation, and naturally, turn into a turtle to get lost in your shell. "Yes..." your voice echoes, small and mournful from the hollow of your shell. You brace yourself for her to absolutely lose it.

It's in her voice, fury beyond description that threatens to crack your shell. ". . .Y-you . . .could have. . . /TALKED/? THIS! WHOLE! TIME!?"

Not-... /exactly/ what you were bracing for. Your head pops out of your shell in surprise to blink up at her. "I'm a turtle," you insist.

"And I'm a biologist!" she shouts back, as if that's some sort of obvious explanation for her lack of focus on the very obvious and unusual fact that you were a cat, and now you're a turtle.

"But I'm a tur-"

"I KNOW YOU'RE A SHAPESHIFTER ANI! Gods fucking- I'm a biologist, Ani. A Bi-o-lo-gist. I know what a godsdamned cat is supposed to look like, and I know for damn well sure that they don't fucking change shape every half a goddamn hour. You could hardly keep your size in check on any given day! When you wanted love you turned into a little kitten and when you wanted me to fuck off you turned all... scrungly or whatever the fuck! Shit like that! Constantly! I knew a month in after you started getting all comfortable. I mean for fuck's sake, I knew you could hear me. You'd respond to shit I say all the time with like, insane comprehension. I thought I was going crazy or met some magical miracle genius cat at first, but you seemed genuinely scared when I found you, not to mention mortally wounded! I just wanted to give you a good home!" She suddenly deflates. "...and you wouldn't even talk to me?"

Her tone sends you into a panic, you'd heard her use that tone on people she couldn't stand, and you were terrified, mortified to know that you'd upset her enough for it to be used on you. You shift into a mouse and tuck your shivering body into the corner of the couch. As she talks the actual words start to sink in, and slowly confusion takes it's place as you realize she's... not... going to try to kill you? Or turn you in to some experiment? Or any of the other horrible things you'd experienced before. You could have just... told her. Fuck.

She blinks, surprised, like she hadn't even considered you'd react poorly. She sighs and sits down on the couch near you. Another moment passes, punctuated by her breathing slowly in and out. "I'm just-..." she stops to rephrase, "You, more than anyone know how lonely I am, Ani."

You stop shivering. You do know that. Of course you know that. "Of course I know that," you insist.

Once more she looks taken aback. "Then why-?"

This time you interrupt, "I was scared you'd be like... everyone else. And I don't... really like to talk. If I did, I'd be a person more of the time."

"Oh."

"I like making animal noises and nodding and stuff."

She stifles a giggle at that, one that makes you blush. Soon enough you're laughing along with her, soon enough you're curled up on the couch at her side like you have been nearly every night for the past three years. You don't even notice at which point it is in the conversation you shift into a person curled up next to her on the couch. She doesn't seem to notice either. Certainly neither of you remember the monster hunter body on your living room floor. Neither of you notice the sun rising until it's too late. Neither of you care.

Crack Theory Theater: The Radio Demon

Lilith is the Radio Demon. Alastor is a poor little meow-meow. Change my mind

Okay, so I'll start off by saying that it's entirely possible that I'm wrong, but the whole point of a crack theory is that it's a shot in the dark written for fun.

...And if we're not getting S2 until 2027, then we should absolutely have fun with the fan theories to pass the time.

Anyway, based purely on the vibes I get from the show, Lilith is the most 'man behind the man' character we've been introduced to thus far. From Charlie's description of her, she seems to have music-related powers, while also not acting openly most of the time.

Not sure if Lilith is the big bad or not, but she's certainly a wildcard. She made a deal with Adam to live in heaven, leaving Charlie alone for seven years (also the time Alastor was gone for). At the very least, Lilith's morality isn't easily decipherable.

Alastor arrived in hell with a shitload of broadcast-based power. He's said to have made a deal, and his earliest actions were cloaked in subterfuge. Most of the fandom is in agreement that he probably made a deal with Lilith.

I'd go one step forward and say that his deal is stricter than most of the others we've seen. That when the overlords were slaughtered over the radio, it was Lilith's decision to do so, and Lilith doing the actual torturing. Alastor took the credit because Lilith ordered it.

(Something seemed off when Alastor threatened Husk. Why make such an indirect threat? Was it because talking about the deal would trigger a punishment, not from Alastor, but from Lilith? Was dragging Husk into Lilith's web done in some indirect attempt to avoid having execute someone he knew in life? IDK, I'm just throwing shit at the wall here).

Anyway, I think the most interesting things to theorize over at present are Alastor's motivations. How much of the adoptive father facade he puts on for Charlie is genuine? On the flip side, how much of the sadistic overlord persona is real?

As many people have pointed out, Alastor first showed up at the hotel right after Charlie called her mother (though he was clearly also intrigued by her song on the newscast).

It's very possible that Lilith ordered Alastor to help Charlie, acting as a bodyguard when Lilith is absent. Certainly he tries to form a deal with Charlie almost immediately.

Here's the thing, though: Alastor's the type of character who's untrustworthy. He says he wants to watch people suffer. He says he wants to guide Charlie's potential because she's powerful.

Usually, with this archetype, the villain-turned-ally would present themselves as repentant, or misunderstood. The main characters would give them a chance, only to gradually realize that the surface persona does not match what's underneath.

...except Alastor initially presents himself as a sadistic cannibal who lives to see others suffer.

What's left to uncover, with that kind of introduction?

Three possibilities:

Alastor's not actually a liar. He's exactly what he presents himself as, he's just so irony-poisoned that he always sounds dishonest.

What's hidden beneath the surface is significantly WORSE than what we've seen already. Alastor is the big bad of the series, and we were all fools for not realizing it earlier.

Alastor's more of a victim than he'd ever admit. In life, he was a monster who hunted other monsters. In death, he was trapped in an exploitative deal that forces him to execute anyone his contractor specifies, so he figures he might as well go along with it.

Since this is a crack theory, door number three is the one I'm backing.

And weirdly enough, I suspect that Alastor's motivations might stem from chivalry.

The term White Knighting is nowadays associated with pickup artists, but from what I can see, the phrase 'helping damsels in distress' fits most of Alastor's interactions with those who consider him a friend. Mimzy was so confident in his protection of a friend in need that she essentially used Alastor to kill debt collectors for her.

It's less obvious with Rosie, though that might be due to the fact that he can pretend that particular friendship is merely an alliance between overlords. Certainly, Rosie tries to phrase helping Alastor as 'making a deal.'

Charlie, though... I'm struggling to try and figure out what Lucifer could have done to piss Alastor off. Yeah, I've heard people speculate that it's just because Alastor can't stand not being the center of attention, but... i don't know. There seemed to be too much genuine rage there. Could part of that anger have been anger on Charlie's behalf at Lucifer's abandonment, even if Alastor would never admit to it?

Anyway, the biggest shot in the dark would be trying to figure out what exactly Alastor wants to do with that favor from Charlie.

Best guess? He needs someone of Lilith's blood to help break a deal that Lilith forged.

That and he's too insecure to ever believe that Charlie would help him if it meant going against her mother.

So, there you have it! If Alastor winds up being a sympathetic character, that's how I think it'll go down.

I kinda hate how unimaginative so much of the world seems so often (not sure if it's new or just how it's always been... doesn't matter)

Was watching someone doing minecraft and they were talking up and down about how they knew it was kind of abstract and just... just using a whole lot of cushioning words, and it's like... it's fish in the sky, this is basic stuff. Anyone who finds this strange because fish are normally in water really just needs to... stop being dumb, I don't know what else to say

Not blasting the person who made the build, blasting whatever made them feel they had to justify it

And like... it's not just this, I'm not able to remember any other examples, but haven't you noticed the way that people'll be just gobsmacked by really basic fantasy stuff?

I guess one thing I can think of is people on here who were like "holy shit, I'm gonna be having nightmares" over an old Betty Boop cartoon

Like dude... in just a couple seconds of trying to think of something kind of strange I came up with someone where their back opens up and bones jut out into articulated appendages like you see with various Spider-Man versions that got those back arms... like it's a slightly odd idea... mostly in that it's a little gory, but like... it's a couple seconds of trying to imagine something that you don't see every day

A cat that can control gravity when it meows, an airplane that using it's wings like arms to swim through the air, a hand that contorts and grows it's fingers till they start becoming tree branches... these things took longer to type than to think up

Where's your imagination, why do I keep seeing people who seem confused by anything that isn't actually real

Like... I don't know, you can pretty much get instant buy in from me so long as you don't do anything to throw me out of it... you had those nice pictures I've reblogged of people wearing seashell armor and at no point did it even cross my mind to think "that's not a real thing", and I'd assume it wouldn't cross anyone else's mind either if I didn't keep seeing seeming examples of people being confused by basic imagination

Like fish flying through the air shouldn't have to have someone say "I know it's a little abstract", cause it's really not, it's really like... such a simple idea to wrap your head around

I guess I'm just confused, confused how I see people who seem to have trouble just... having a basic imagination

(I suppose somewhat related is the way that something like backrooms always has to have skinny monster added to it)
