With Sunday's drip marketing, one reaction I've seen is surprise that he's still on his same path toward the same goal of paradise.
But of course he is! HSR patch 2.2 Penacony is a long string of scenes where Sunday is like "debate me, please debate me, I feel a little bit like I'm going crazy here, how are none of you seeing what I'm seeing, someone please debate me." He sees a cold and uncaring logic to the world and desperately wants to be wrong about his conclusions.
And no one debated him. They overpowered him and broke his illusion via power rangers distress call and "severed [his] Path with their hands," as he put it, but no one really debated him in good faith on the terms he set. Of course he hasn't changed! No one was even faintly capable of articulating an alternate position!
unacceptably long-ass boring post incoming. if you click the read more you have only yourself to blame. i had to put in subheadings for navigability this post is a MESS
(authors note: in an absolutely embarrassing travesty i managed to hit the picture limit per post so this will be a post in multiple parts. this part covers Sunday's goals and Robin's initial response. A follow-up post will cover Firefly and the Astral Express's response, as well as the final confrontation and what this all means)
(double note: due to post length limitations this ended up being three reblogs long. completed version here.)
(A note before we set off: I do not think the HSR writers are very good, or more charitably, I think the constraints under which HSR is made pretty much preclude it having a thematically satisfying narrative. Not the least of these constraints is the obvious fear around having anyone playable be "too bad," which is why Blade was introduced as an implacable force of ancient vengeance for crimes unutterable, and now he's your 35-year-old coworker who jokes about killing himself. Everything I'm saying here is just interpretation, and it will certainly not be the game's take, since the game's moral reasoning doesn't seem to extend very far beyond "the Astral Express is good guys :)". Accordingly, please take this in an appropriate spirit, as someone looking for griminess and nuance in a game with a distinct deficit of either and an extreme unwillingness to treat its most interesting concepts as anything more than set dressing or very loosely-implied subtext.)
So to start you gotta ask, what is Sunday so mad about? Why does he demand that you debate him?
I. Sunday's Goals: "A Paradise Exclusive to Us Human Beings"
In his own words, what Sunday is fighting against is the fact that the world runs on predation and violence. Order is the enemy not of Chaos, but of Nature, and natural selection.
For Sunday, the problem is not merely that bad things happen in the world, or that the weak suffer. The problem is that the world is cruel in its design. The logic of survival is cruel. The extent of the problem is not just the dove dying to predators, though that is a huge part of it. It's the average worker, required to work at drudgery or worse, usually for the benefit of another, and always under possible threat of deprivation and death, because the nature of the world is that you must work or hurt or exploit or kill to survive. It's the man who sold his children into slavery for the chance at a better life, but more importantly it's those children, an afterthought in the end even to their father.
It's not just the suffering alone that he is responding to, either. In suffering and deprivation, Sunday sees a loss of control and choice. that necessarily entails a loss of dignity and meaning. Both the Astral Express and Firefly object that people should have the right to choose, but Sunday simply responds that they have no greater ability to choose under the status quo. To Sunday, a man who lives in a literal dream world, a life lived struggling for better things might be noble, but it is unequivocally not as dignified or happy as one lived in bliss.
This is part of why he's so fixated on the idea of weakness. Sunday perceives a distinct difference between people who believe their struggles give their lives meaning, and people who do not feel themselves to be free in the first place and thus find no greater meaning in their struggles. He clearly sees the second group as weak (a term he uses without judgment), and unable to fully express and experience their human dignity as a consequence of their position.
Sunday sees the history of Penacony as essentially recapitulating this struggle over and over. Hanunue frees the prisoners, but can neither secure Penacony's permanent freedom nor give the former prisoners full and dignified lives. Then Hanunue dies, and Sunday's sort of intriguingly ambivalent in how he portrays the Harmony taking over. It's actually kind of inspiring and humanist! This is a guy who's still deeply invested in Harmony's ideals.
But of course, we don't need a direct critique from Sunday to know how the Harmony has failed Penacony. We've seen it with our own eyes over and over. Do we need Sunday to tell it to us again when we've already spent our time with Chadwick, and Cocona, and Tizocic II? We have already seen over and over and over again in Penacony how systemic constraints and problems drive people who could have lived bright lives down dark paths, even in the Dreamscape.
Most intriguing is the third act, ostensibly the future, in which Ena arises and then is cast down because the people reject THEIR paradise in which THEY control and define all things. This could kind of be a jump to the past...except that Ena's previous "death" was due to absorption by Xipe during THEIR ascension, not because the people cast THEM down. The only event it appears to bear any resemblance to is...well, you beating Sunday in a few missions' time, because you reject his paradise since it's all in his control. Weird!
Back to the main matter, Sunday believes that true human dignity and flourishing requires not just freedom from outside control by otherss, but freedom from suffering and privation. He sees the weak (in his thinking, people spiritually unable to rise above suffering) as people unable to fully express themselves, who deserve the dignity of a life free of suffering or bitter choices. He spells this all out quite plainly in his opening lines to you when you arrive at the grand theater:
So we know what Sunday wants. And we know his answer to it: the Sweetdream Paradise (as I will be calling it here because I think it's funny and also because the sweet/bitter dichotomy is a huge part of Penacony thematically). He will use the power of Xipe's Emanator (Dominicus, the Harmonious Choir), and the remains of Ena (unclear if these are like, conceptual or metaphysical or what) to become something new (context implies possibly a new Aeon of Philosophy) that will enable everyone to sleep forever, entering a Penacony-esque dream in which nothing bad can truly happen, sustained by whatever new thing Sunday becomes. Everyone will be experiencing life through dreams while Sunday is the only thing awake in the real world, but that won't matter anyways because the dream will be basically the only thing that exists, without even Aeons interfering. It would be a truly human paradise. (One interesting little note here is that Sunday seems to quite clearly resent the Aeons for standing above humans and for offering no true solace to the suffering. No Aeons No Masters)
(I know I said above I think Sunday may have been becoming the Aeon of Philosophy and he says here his intent is not to become an Aeon. But the enemy description is pretty clear that Order and Harmony are forming the shell of an egg for a new god and the enemy is called "[Embryo of Philosophy] Sunday" I think it's pretty fitting both for his Icarian plan and the narrative role of Aeons that he was on the brink of accidentally becoming one, and probably having his original goal and his humanity subsumed into the nascent Aeon's Path. To me that seems an equally fitting ending for his hubris.)
What's really interesting to me about the Sweetdream Paradise is that the game goes out of its way, before it begins, to make it seem like a viable alternative path.
Such a dream could never be stable! Well, with a Stellaron and an Aeon (and idk, an Aeon's metaphysical corpse), all things are possible, so jot that down. You just want to set up a totalitarian regime under your dead God! No, LOL, I also hate God! Did you miss the whole dungeon before this about how much people hate God, and how much I in particular resent God for allowing suffering and human weakness? People will have no freedom of choice! People are free to make whatever choices they like in the Sweetdream Paradise, they just won't ever face bitter consequences as a result. Sorry I'm removing their freedom to [checks notes] sell their soul to the literal devil (hi Jade!) for short-term gain and guaranteed long-term suffering. I'd hate to lose that! People won't be real! Okay, well, Penacony seems to count as plenty real, and it's literally the same thing. Hell, Black Swan is literally a memetic entity who exists only in your perception! But she counts as real. So clearly we're just haggling along some kind of continuum of real-fake here, there's no hard line like people want to say there is.
The implicit purpose of all this setup is to force a true philosophical debate about the suffering of the "weak," the way the status quo demands and accepts this, and whether it can be justified or redeemed by freedom or choice. The other, more common approach would be to use practical limitations as a narrative eject button, e.g. "well, we've learned your Sweetdream will inevitably collapse anyways due to Stellaron Reasons, so even though your purpose was noble and our stance on it is still ambiguous, we have to stop you." I thought this was neat on HYV's part, because I think that other approach sucks. Call it the Legend of Korra approach, if you like: a plotline comes too close to criticizing the power fantasy underlying this particular type of genre narrative, so it's time to "fix" it by revealing the villain as comically evil and actually totally insincere.
So here's Sunday's position: suffering is not just bad but inimical to the truest possible human dignity, and if we can abolish it by means of totalitarian magic god ritual we ought to. How do our heroes respond?
II. Robin – "Which Aeon Can Make Our Dreams Come True?"
Well, first up is Robin, who responds so poorly I honestly felt like the writing was unsubtly overcorrecting for Sunday's position's inherent unpopularity (no one really likes totalitarian philosopher kings and gamers hate being controlled, Gamers Rise Up). She's like, "I get that people feel like they achieve some essential happiness or dignity here, but the big problem with Penacony is that it's FAKE and it's TOO TEMPORARY" and Sunday gets to just sit there and be like "yeah hmmm sure would be nice if someone could answer those problems easily by making the Dreamscape the literal only thing in the world and therefore the realest thing there is and also permanent."
Then Robin makes a hard left turn into completely wild arguments and is like "and that man suffering from a terrible illness who lost everything should have to be suffering in the real world because idk maybe they could have fixed his disease? I'm not like a doctor or anything but they say doctors are real good these days."
Completely deranged argument. Though honestly I kind of love this version of Robin and wish they'd go all the way with her. She's a girlboss bootstraps libertarian pop star let her live that truth.
Anyways here's where Sunday and Robin have their direct argument.
Humans deserve a chance to fly, says Robin. Okay, says Sunday, well we live here in the real world where vast billions of people never will. It's all great and cool for the anime protagonists and pop stars of the world to talk about self-determination and the human right to make your own meaning, but the rest of us live every day in a world where the powerful determine the future.
That last line of Robin's is so funny to me. "If that were true, then only the powerful would have the right to determine the future." BINGO, QUEEN! YOU GOT IT! That's the world you live in! Not one where everyone flies!
When you say "Birds belong in the sky, even if they can't fly," what you mean is "I see the death and suffering of others as acceptable and even necessary to give my life meaning." You can't have one without the other. This is what Sunday objects to.
What's interesting about this is both Sunday and Robin are actually slipping in their attachment to the Harmony. Robin credits her failure to sing to her own weakening faith in the Harmony, and Sunday later claims it was actually due to him and his attachment to Order (and also the whole Oak family's like psychic hive mind of evil under Gopher Wood). But here, Robin is like "Well, the Harmony says we should care for the weak." She doesn't exactly claim the statement for herself. And she shares Sunday's fears that the Harmony is incapable of creating the kind of paradise they both dream of.
So here we are right at the start of Sunday introducing his beliefs, and Robin's responses not only have been kind of weirdly un-nuanced in a way that makes her side look bad (I just can't get over her saying that dude who lost everything in war should have chosen expensive and painful rehabilitation as a moral matter. Robin what are you talking about), but she clearly is sympathetic to Sunday's concerns and is openly asking him what his conclusions mean they should do.
Of course, HSR 2.2 ignored Robin for no discernible reason, so we will be denied any further development of this discourse between the siblings. But Robin will return in the final battle, and when she does, she will both reveal that she is not thinking in the Harmony's terms, and that she has only practical objections to Sunday's course of action, rather than what he really wants: a different and more compelling logic to replace his own.

I was going through my art folder on my phone and realized how far I've come with how I draw Shay (and her different forms).
Way back in 2021 I drew her for the first time. She effectively came from a dream I had, where I lived her life in one night. But the struggle was I never actually really saw what Shay/I looked like in the dream. I knew what I was, who I was, but not what I looked like, beyond my hands. One of the most spectacular dreams I've ever had, by the way.
So early on when I was streaming, I decided to take a crack at drawing the dragon woman I'd been in the dream. I couldn't even really remember my/her name, although with help from my friends it came to me.
The first sketch was... Rough, at best. I had no clue how to draw an anthro creature, which Shay effectively was. I used multiple references to even sorta rough out what I wanted, and the result was not spectacular. But it was a start.
Then I was memeing with my friends about our D&D characters. I fully intended to RP as Shay when we began a campaign. It led to the version above - the first proper drawing where I was mostly happy with her overall design.
Late 2021 and I tried to push myself a little further, although I still didn't know what I was doing.
Art block hit me like a truck for a few months. When I finally managed to get drawing again, the results were initially really, really bad. But it wasn't too long and I drew what would end up being a far more finalized version of her design, the template for many future works. She was a more agile figure than her design sketch. I adjusted her horns to make more sense anatomically, and to fit better with her hair.
And also I drew abs on her.
Then there were several more drawings. I touched on alternate versions, put her in some fun situations as self indulgence, tried to experiment with difficult poses. There was a lot of struggle, as I still couldn't quite get her head shape consistent.
Then I found some new resources, and on a whim I drew what's becoming my favorite alternate version of her: Shayaa.
(Flat color iteration shown)
Shayaa was born out of two thoughts. I wanted a version of Shay that was a little thicc, and I wanted a version where she hadn't been abandoned. This ended up with her in armor, and was a leap forward in terms of quality and some design cues. The softer snout, more defined mouth, and thicker horns ended up really helping me draw her more consistently.
I was worried that it was one of those cases where I went beyond my actual ability and wouldn't be able to replicate it, but I was mostly wrong.
I decided I wanted to adjust "prime" Shay's design a bit, to improve her visibly aging and to widen the gap between her and Shayaa to emphasize their differences. I thinned her up a bit, made her muscles more lean, and rounded her features to make her appear more youthful - she's in her early 20s at the start of Godbreaker, but I saw her design as more in her late 20s or early 30s. She was always intended to be more lean than I'd drawn her, but skill issue. I also kinda hated parts of her default outfit, they seemed off and weren't the easiest to draw.
And now? I'm pretty satisfied with her design. She looks younger and more lean, and ideally a little less "civilized." Her hair got spikier to make it easier for me to draw - I suck at floofy hair. She's still pretty big, at 6'7" tall, but she doesn't look like a brick house anymore (nothing wrong with that, I love brick houses, she was just not intended to be that).
But yeah. Going through the old art, a lot of which I can't add to this post, it really hit home to me how much in such a relatively short time she's changed since the first real sketch, how much I've changed...
...And how much has stayed the same.
Aaaand to not end on any sort of deep moment, holy shit her old feet were HUGE.

Bruh I'm really late for this DTIYS but I was initially going to do it for fun and instead got so wrapped up in it, like changing styles and designs becuz I haven't done a redesign for Vox but I think this one will push me to a great direction in what I think Vox would look like. Still need to work on the past Vox design, too, but meh, I'm really happy with the results and didn't want to let it sit in my files, so here you go!
This is for @sallufix's disconnecteddtiys. Go check them out, and their content :>
The number of times I had to brighten my screen becuz I'm so used to my phone being dimmed, but I really wanted the colors to pop. So here's ya'lls meal! I really enjoyed myself doing this one, the lineart, the coloring and just messing around with the layering was really fun for me. In the middle of adjusting and doing lineart, I had to start over becuz I wanted to play with different lineart and found this cool pen that was really satisfying and gave the drawing some volume in some areas.
Then came the problem of trying to figure out what time period of my redesigned Alastor I should use for the DTIYS and was stuck on like 3 of them before I just settled for this one. I still have the other versions colored and others deleted becuz I realised how weird the designs looked so it got scrapped. Then there's the past Vox I also got stuck on becuz I feel like he was too plain and also not really thought of much but I think in a future redesign, I'll do him better. At least I really loved how his current form looks so I'm not entirely upset.
The shading part was both frustrating and also a fun experiment to do as I swatched what colors to use and what else to pair with the characters. I had to redo some shadings and overlays becuz it was either not visible or looked horrendous but I settled on this that fills me with so much joy :D
Overall, this was really fun and challenging for me as I continue to change some aspects of my redesigns and doing a first unofficial redesign of Vox! I did some headcanoning on his eyes as usually people would always headcanon an injury on his left eye but I like to headcanon that on his right eye is injured during the fight with Alastor, so rendering that eye powerless and weakening his hypnotism. I haven't made a full story with this one other than style it so hopefully by the time I do a redesign on Vox, I can do more storytelling there.
Here is the process and the two other designs of Alastor that didn't make it in:
And some of the images flipped to better see the other side of the DTIYS:

I LOVE your Kanthony work!!! I love how you sometimes put them in uncomfortable situations and still have them find their way yo love. I was reading a fic by a different writer and had this thought. I have been consuming Kanthony fiction like it’s a drug and I might have read 90% of it already. In everything that I read, I had not read anything that is canon compliant with a satisfying version of how Anthony apologized to and reconciled with Kate, with the right amount of angst. The show was pure gold but I wanted something more. I wanted him to own up to his mistakes and not necessarily grovel, but. acknowledge his mistakes and apologize to her and prove his unwavering devotion and loyalty to her. Wondering if that’s something you’d be interested in exploring?
Thank you so much! Glad you're enjoying Kanthony fic!
I don't read very much regency (I've just never been a period piece girlie - Bridgerton was one of my rare exceptions). But I think quite a lot of authors have tackled Anthony confronting his mistakes and working through things with Kate, probably much better than I would.
Firstly, I'm just generally not invested in the narrative of Anthony apologizing repeatedly. Of course, I think there's a scene offscreen where he has to explain why he initially chose Edwina and his fears around love. But he would apologize and Kate would probably understand better than anyone and they would move forward together. Anthony would prove his loyalty to her simply by doing what he already wants to do: care for her, shower her with love and affection, be a steady and trustworthy presence in her life. Actions, not words.
Secondly, I think it can be hard when we have very specific headcanons. You may not find a fic that matches up to what you imagine, because our headcanons are all very different, often colored by our experiences and our preferences in relationships. This is why people write the fic they want to see - and I certainly encourage that if you feel comfortable!
Thirdly, I just don't enjoy writing canon-compliant fic. I have a few exceptions (mostly drabbles or smut one-shots), but I will always tend toward modern. Plenty of writers create very rich, detailed regency worlds, and I'm happy to live in theirs rather than create my own.

WHY I'M SMARTER THAN YS
01 and. Ruby: Perl is a kludge, and Lisp syntax is scary.1 This was too subtle for me. So let that satisfy your competitiveness. But in a typical American secondary school. The average parents of a 14 year old girl would hate the idea of the corporate ladder had a value analogous to the solution I recommend for pitching your startup: do the right thing and then just tell investors what you're doing. Because remember, the Microsoft monopoly didn't begin with Microsoft.2 Even when the startup launches, there have to be treated as if they were returning to work after a months-long illness. Though they're less well known, the angel investors are probably more circumspect with YC startups than with other companies they talk to, and if you raise more money. But among the many other things I was ignorant of was how much debris there already was in my head. This works well for more parallelizable tasks, like fighting wars. But as of this writing the empirical evidence says it's a net win.
Essentially, each user should have his own per-word probabilities based on the actual mail he receives. If you stop there, what you're describing is literally a prison, albeit a part-time one.3 It's not so much that you don't have to answer to anyone. Don't reject an acceptable offer in the hope of becoming much richer than anyone else, it will automatically push you away from things you think you're supposed to work on Viaweb.4 Next What happens to publishing if you can't predict whether there's a path out of the initial idea is the meta-fact that these are hard to see. Nor, as far as possible prevent them from killing one another. I explained this as code to show a couple of CS grad students, not the topic.5 And there was no AWS. I was ignorant of was how much debris there already was in my head.6 If you leave a project for a few days. And this turns out to have consequences one might not foresee when one phrases the same idea in terms of the problem.
So if you're doing it wrong. If you drink too much, you can do is get yourself to the point where startups can least afford it. Or better still, go work for a biotech company. While not a sinecure, a position on the corporate ladder is probably gone for good.7 But when you make a conscious effort to insulate the other founder s from the details of the process. Even if the CEO is a programmer and the target user, because then the cycle of generating new versions and testing them on users can happen inside one head. The same thing could happen with the Internet. Large-scale investors care about their portfolio, not any individual company. They try to hide even the existence of these words has a spam probability, in my school at least, exclusively for work.8 As they were used then, these words all seemed to believe implicitly that work was not fun.9
By high school, my friend Rich and I made a map of the school lunch tables according to popularity. We assumed his logo would deter any actual customers, but it was not a coincidence. 14758544 valuable 0.10 But till recently this was an anomalous route that tended to be at the mercy of investors. Apple controls the default path onto the iPod. About a year ago I tried to figure out what you'd need to reproduce Silicon Valley. What sort of company might cause people in the Valley, and on the other is the sea—which because it's cold and foggy and has few harbors, plays surprisingly little role in the lives of people in the Valley.11
Except when they raise money they don't have to read so many spams.12 In those days there was no way anyone could have known this in advance.13 If you're at the leading edge of a field that's changing rapidly, your ideas about what's sexy will be somewhat correlated with what's valuable in practice. It's one of the commonest forms of corruption. Even in college you get little idea what their parents do in their distant offices, and see no connection indeed, there is no better than Don't be hapless is to be actively persecuted. Without hope of gain, they'd have grown up considering themselves as Ys. The kids in this one case if parents were not so unselfish. Investors usually get vetos over certain big decisions, like selling the company, regardless of whether it seems like all the good Web 2.
Notes
This was certainly true in the biggest winners, from which they don't know enough about big companies don't advertise this. Type II startups neither require nor produce startup culture. There is nothing more unconvincing, for example, I have no idea whether this would probably find it was briefly in Britain in the bouillon cube s, cover, and then being unable to raise five million dollars in liquid assets are assumed to be able to spend on trade goods to make software incompatible. Some translators use calm instead of being absorbed by the financial controls of World War II was in principle 100,000 drachmae for the next one will be on the richer end of World War II, must have affected what they are by ways that have it as if a company just to steal a big effect on college admissions process.

Html. A Divorce?
The word regressive as applied to tax rates, which was more because they are themselves typical users. 25 people have told me: Another approach would be. Wufoo was based in Tampa and they have to tell how serious potential investors and instead of using special euphemisms for lies that seem to be doomed.
If you're good you can fix by writing an interpreter for the manager of the problem is poverty, not conquest. Good news: users don't care about may not be to ensure none of them consistently make money, but Google proved them wrong. The best technique I've found for dealing with recent art that does.
I would go farther in saying that because a great deal of competition for the same. 27 with the talking paperclip. A lot of detail.
But iTunes shows that they kill you—when you have to admit there's no other word that means is we hope visited mostly by technological progress to areas where Apple will be out of Viaweb, which is something in this respect.
The best kind of social engineering—. Y Combinator was a strong local component and b success depended so much about unimportant things.
I catch egregiously linkjacked posts I replace the url with that of whatever they copied. Unfortunately these times are a small set of good startups that get killed by overspending might have infected ten percent of them consistently make money for.
Emmett Shear writes: I'd argue that the probabilities of features i. As I was a kid and as we think we're so useless that in Silicon Valley, but rather that if you seem evasive than if you ban other ways. Some of the former, and only incidentally to tell computers how to distinguish between people, but this could be fixed within a niche. And yet if he hadn't we probably would not produce a viable organism.
Trevor Blackwell, who had small children, we're going to give up your anti-dilution, which merchants used to build consumer electronics and to run a mile in under 4 minutes. How many times larger than the long term than one level of links. When I talk about distribution of alms, and so effective that I'm skeptical whether economic inequality is really about poverty. In fact the less powerful language in it.
If they were just getting kids to them about your fundraising prospects. And if you hadn't written about them.
Actually he's no better or worse than the time. Consulting is where the acquirer just wants the employees. Ever since Wario got that package he's been getting tons of ideas for making WarioWare more successful, with his VR game idea as just the start. And at first it's great! They're doing better than ever, and some of the ideas even help him and Waluigi get their finances in order and move into a freaking penthouse! So things are looking up.
Except...
Except some of the ideas don't feel like his own.
Except he's gradually becoming colder and more businesslike.
Except he keeps Conveniently Forgetting to take off his Meta Glove when he's not using it.
Because the arm is programed similarly to SMG4's old demonic keyboard, but it's far more subtle and insidious since it's not dealing with a sleep-deprived perfectionist already in the midst of a complete mental breakdown.
And it's so subtle that even as Wario realizes that something's wrong with him, he doesn't figure out what until it's too late and he's a prisoner in his own mind.
Now it's-a Metario Time, and he activates a similar program in the replica Meta Gloves to forcibly hijack the minds of the WarioWare crew, Waluigi, and new hires Amy and Mira, then leads the resulting Army in an assault on the Showgrounds, which is the big cliffhanger before what I'm calling WAHtfiWare.
Speaking of which, the format is that Tari manages to convince Metario to settle things with a gaming competition, with both of them using their unique abilities to pull their respective Crews into a WarioWare game. The transition screen between challenges is a fighting game-style character select, with the SMG4 Crew's side being blue, Metario's side being purple, and the real Wario trapped in a TV in the middle. The actual challenge skits are much shorter than usual, both because they're supposed to represent Microgames and because there are a lot of characters and if we went with the standard format we wouldn't be able to use them all even if we included some 2v2-or-more-challenges.
To differentiate him from the real Wario, Metario wears the same suit and bowler hat as the TV Adware guy and his Meta Glove, which looks just like Tari's arm but refitted to Wario's proportions, purple glowy bits instead of blue, and Wario's signature blue "W" on the back of the hand instead of Tari's wing emblem thing. The rest of the WarioWare crew also have Meta Gloves fitted to their proportions, and their eyes glow the same purple as the glowy bits when they're under Metario's control.
Just before the climax song starts, the Crew discovers that they can break Metario's control by getting rid of the Meta Arms when they manage to do so to Waluigi, Amy and Mira. Then during the song they gradually manage to free all the WarioWare employees (coincidentally in reverse order of their debuts Because Thematics) while Metario transforms his in-game sprite (because keep in mind that with how his and Tari's special power works their bodies are still in the real world unlike everyone else), and near the end Wario finally breaks free of the TV and gets to lay an extremely satisfying smackdown on the asshole program that stole his body.
In the aftermath, it turns out that Metario's ideas weren't actually as good for the company in the long term as he thought they were, because as good as the program was it was still working with Wario's brain, so a lot of the extra revenue they got has to go into damage control and the Wario Bros can't actually afford their penthouse. But when they think they're going to have to go back to living on the side of the road, the two Crews have a surprise for them.
Apparently the initial WarioWare VR concept, the one idea that was genuinely All Wario before the Meta Arm had any influence, was the one that actually properly worked, and between the sales from that and everybody deciding to pitch in something of their own, they managed to put in a down payment on a house for the brothers. It's not particularly big or fancy, in fact it's just a 3D version of Wario's dinky little run-down shack from the actual WarioWare games, complete with the big dumb "W" sign on the roof.
And as far as the two of them are concerned, it's perfect. Better than the stupid penthouse even. Because for once in their lives they've finally got somewhere that feels like home, given to them by the first people beyond each-other who've ever felt like family.
#smg4#warioware#smg4 ocs#wario#waluigi#metario#smg4 tari#tv adware#amy rose#mira#a developer scorned#“hey tari why does the au let you have a key role in BOTH wario bro wotfis?”#tari: “because canon gives me basically nothing most of the time”#the original mega microgame$ crew gets freed in reverse order of their levels#and i'm counting game & wario as 5-volt's debut since she only had a minor cameo before then#for characters that almost exclusively show up as pairs i'd probably just flip a coin

So! I've had longfic on the brain, so I decided to do a roundup of all my long Oxventures fic. Under the cut, you can find links and discussion to all my Oxventure stories and series that are over 10k words. There are so much more of them than I expected, but this is the fandom where I really started writing long stories as a default rather than an exception.
the deep (51076 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah, Barnaby/Lilith)
Barnaby has to get married precipitously, and that's how all the trouble starts. I think this is genuinely the best thing I've ever written? I'm my own worst critic, and I'm really pleased with it.
it's just the ride of your life (44690 words, Corazon/Prudence)
After an accident with a Wish spell, Corazon ends up as a cleric of the Yellow King. I'm hugely pleased with this story; it really gets in the weeds with D&D mechanics, and it was very satisfying. Fun fact: Drash and Malachite are characters my buddy and I played in a one-shot.
my name written next to yours (40061 words, Merilwen/Egbert, Corazon/Prudence)
Merilwen makes an error in judgment, and she and Egbert have to get married. I did not mean for this story to be as long as it is, but it's all for Popular Character Ilranos. I maintain Egbert's summoning is one of the best scenes I ever wrote.
The Alien (32446 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah, Kasimir/Edvard, Kasimir/Barnaby)
If the Hobbyhorses had a coin for every time someone was replaced with a younger version of themselves, they'd have three coin. These weren't originally meant to be connected, but it worked better this way. And of course, the most powerful force in all the realms is lesbian breakup drama.
high road (34273 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah, Barnaby/Lilith, Barnaby/OFC)
Kasimir, Edvard, and Zillah fall backwards into a relationship, and then they go into exile. All of my heart is already on the page with this one, so I will say instead that I do think that Marjorie and Claire became best friends, and Marjorie also calls Claire her sister, just to skeeve people out.
component parts (31429 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah)
Dunno what to say about this story, actually. It's the only story I've written where Kasimir is healed, and also the only one with a collaring scene. They aren't related.
the whole world hinges on your swings (21546 words, Purvis/Margot, Purvis/his DiJi girlfriend)
Margot needs stress relief, and Purvis readily volunteers. This was very cathartic to write.
no subtitle (20079 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah, implied Agent 47/Diana Burnwood)
Agent Z gets handled. A crossover with a fandom I know next to nothing about, but I think it went okay.
try (not) to see it my way (18767 words, Corazon/Prudence)
It has been 0 days since Corazon was last cursed. I really love "I could make him worse" sorts of codependent romantic entanglements in my stories. Delicious.
you're only as big as your battles (18083 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah et al)
Kasimir meets Edvard and Zillah at a dungeon. I rarely write modern AU in this fandom, but this was very satisfying to write. I really liked engaging with Kasimir as an old man (even though he's not old).
unembarrassed (16159 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah, Barnaby/Lilith)
Man idk what to tell you, Edvard's got a huge dick and Barnaby slut shames Lilith. I think initially these were meant to be unrelated, but they work thematically, I feel.
what I believe in I'd rather not say (15968 words, Barnaby/Lilith)
Barnaby doesn't join a sex cult that worships a snake god. I had a blast writing this tbh, and I still want to make Lilith's dress.
Hell For Leather (15574 words, Prudence/Dob/Corazon)
The gang has to go undercover at that kind of party. Sometimes you write a story because you want to wallow in all the sumptuous detail. Also I still think the youtuber clothing shop is fucking hysterically funny.
flawed (19511 words, Barnaby/Lilith, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah)
Lilith is absolutely heartless, until she isn't. I really liked playing around with the expectations of what it takes to be a dom in this one.
Deferred Maintenance (13842 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah)
They come back to Volisport and have to move on with their lives. I will make all of you love Gizmo or die trying.
downtime activities (13587 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah)
Kasimir, Edvard, and Zillah get stranded in a safehouse. I like this one a lot; I think I really captured the paranoia and stuffiness of being trapped inside for months. No idea why I'd be writing about that.
silver bells and shotgun shells (12575 words, Kasimir/Zillah, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah)
Kasimir and Zillah have a big/little relationship, and Edvard joins in. The extent to which Edvard absolutely commits to the bit is so important, and I never see bigs or littles in fanfic that aren't just daddy and baby girl.
pebbles on water (12297 words, Kasimir/Edvard/Zillah)
Kasimir leaves Volisport for Skovlan, or does he? This one is just so damn sad, and I wished dearly to make everyone sad with me.
Eye Opener (11377 words, Dob/Corazon, Everyone/Everyone)
Corazon invents pornography. I really wanted to engage with Dob as an artist, because I think he has this side to him that isn't quite so over the top. Also yes this is the one the Oxbox account reblogged the art of.
they never, ever seem to fit (11366 words, Brad/Killian)
Everybody lives, and Brad decides that Killian is his boyfriend. There is so much of me in this; I love mindfuck and the trousers of time and I am still extremely angry about how Michael Sam was treated. I may have extended this to 10k just to capture this one.
Hell Raiser (11127 words, Prudence/Dob/Corazon)
Cthulhu demands that Prudence give him an heir, Prudence demands that Corazon give her his genetic material, and Dob gets everybody out of it. My first fic in the fandom! Start as you mean to go on.
they all suppose what they want to suppose (10494 words, Prudence/Corazon)
Corazon has to go to pirate court and tells everyone that the crew are his concubines. I don't think fanfic has enough of competence kink Corazon? Corazon is a peacock, but he's also incredibly good at his job. So, pirate stuff.

Came back from the cinema a moment ago, so here are some fresh thoughts on Avatar: The Way of Water (spoilers!)
So first things first, I definitely loved it and plan to watch it more times! Currently not sure if I loved it more than the first one; I'm definitely not as enchanted by it, but I was ~12 years old when the first one came out, so I think that's understandable (oh, what I would give to be a kid again...) Some things I loved/liked in a random order: - All the night/darkness scenes! I love glowing stuff and so many scenes with bioluminescent creatures definitely made me happy! - Quaritch getting his ikran; actually generally I find new Quaritch promising and considering it's a clone with implanted memories, I kinda hope he gets a 'redemption arc' showing it's never too late to change and become a better person. Also his ikran is sooo beautiful, probably my favourite coloring from the ones we've seen. - Of course overall visuals were stunning! - diving ikrans, yes! I know we already knew they can do that (I think the visual guide mentions Tayrangi hunting/fishing this way), but it was awesome to see - The fact that Spider didn't betray the Sully's and they found them for reasons completely unrelated to him. I was worried that he might accidentally slip up or they will trick him somehow, but no <3 - I have to admit that despite my initial aversion to having most of the movie in english when they should be speaking Na'vi, the montage when Jake said something like "it became so familiar it started to sound like english" and only from then the characters speaking in english was satisfying enough. I still wish there was a fully Na'vi version tho with subtitles. And why did they had to use 'bro' all the time? ;_; Things I didn't like: - I feel they reused the original score a bit too much. It wasn't even just motives from the original, it sounded like whole parts of the soundtrack - and I know the original well enough that I knew exactly in which scenes it was playing in the first movie and that threw me out of immersion pretty badly, as I just felt like "hey, that's wrong" and idk... it just didn't fit for me. - the thing they extracted from Tulkuns (Amrita? Ambrita? Can't even remember right now); the idea itself is fine I guess? But it was like this random exposition out of nowhere and it was completely irrelevant to the rest of the movie.
So... yeah. I will probably have more thoughts once I watch it more times and have some time to think over things. But overall I'm happy with the experience.

What did you think of the Ted Lasso finale? It was very emotional but everyone in my dash right now seems to have strong opinions about it, either good or bad, and I was wondering what your opinion since you haven't really said.
it had a lot of issues but i guess i feel mostly positive about it (and the whole season in gerenal). i think the more i rewatch nitpick it the more i'll find those loose treads, and there were definitely choices i didn't like, but overall i never felt the ethos of the show was really compromised???
my main issue with this season was time-management and pacing. back when it was still airing, during the fist half of the season, i kept feeling like they were wasting precious screentime on new, under-developed side characters, but also kept hoping it would all tie itself together in the end. there were also a lot of misleads i didn't really understand. looking back, it’s not that they were wasting time, it’s that a lot should just have been cut. the episodes were very long. i think maybe they were worried about balancing the comedy and the drama, but they excelled at that in the previous seasons in a way that didn’t seem organic in s3… but in terms of the actual main character arcs i’m not that mad, personally. i understand that, considering where s2 left things, a lot of us were expecting a more “confrontational” season (nate and ted, rebecca and rupert, jamie and his dad, even roy and keeley) with more tension filled scenes that would end up driving the narrative forward by way of friction. i’m sure that would have been satisfying in it’s own way, and yet there’s something about their refusal to be antagonist, the softness of coming into yourself and your role and your worth on your own, with just the right push…. i mean that’s the whole ethos of ted lasso right there.
like. it’s the general message of “love people for who they are and forgive them for who they aren’t”, but it’s also “i give you a job, the life part is up to you”. the entire spirit of the Lasso Way is that it’s just the initial domino that sets off the effect. there’s no guidelines, other leading with his heart and creating a support system that harnesses people’s talents. ted doesn’t drag people kicking and screaming into being a better version of themselves, but it’s just that much easier to do when you know you’ve got someone in your corner. which after two years culminates in a final season that, in my opinion, is all about finally having the confidence to shed negative self-thoughts, motivators and coping mechanisms, even if some storylines were certainly clearer and more well-executed than others: roy sheds self-doubt and petty hang-ups and manages to step into his leadership role more confidently. colin breaks free from his fear of not being accepted by his peers by coming out to them. keeley relinquishes some of her internalized shame, inferiority-complex and the stigma of her public image, being able to conciliate it with being a taken seriously as a business woman. rebecca let’s go of her hatred of rupert, jamie of his hatred of his dad, and nate of his self-hatred. and ted finally unshackles from his incapacitating fear of abandonment and of not being a good father to his son.
but, i think when it comes down to it ted himself was almost more cathalist than character for the narrative/message. he comes into these people's lives and he changes it forever, but it's not really his home, "it was never really about him". and i can understand people disliking this, finding it a bit cruel. i think i do as well, a little. but what u gonna do abt it 🤷🏻♀️ i'm choosing to not let it take away from the actual spirit
#i also feel like the people who are really really mad are mad about their ships#honestly valid but i don't really function like that#ted lasso#ted lasso spoilers#answered#anonymous

I think you had already said it but I got lost. Why did you rewrite the whole story for Chalice? He became like your favorite character and that's why the change of prominence? Will it stop being a story focused on brothers? I say because from writer to writer it is really difficult to keep several protagonists at the same time with the same importance, but if there are 3, one ends up overshadowing the rest no matter how hard you try, there are cases where there may be a little exception but for very little. My real question is... Was it a completely necessary change to rewrite everything? Maybe add parts of the importance of Chalice later or intertwine them with a detail that you wrote in previous chapters...
I am sorry for any inconvenience of grammatical type or coherence and cohesion. English is not my main language, much less one that I master.
No worries! So- I'm not rewriting the whole story for specifically Chalice, while she is a protagonist, she will get less "screen time" than the brothers, who are and will remain the main focus.
My reason for a rewrite is simply that I feel that the current version of TSTS is not 100% the story I meant to tell.
I got a little lost along the way, going, I believe, far too in depth into the backstory of Ginette (Don't worry- Gin isn't going away, but I focused on her too much, I think), the plot's pacing began to slow down after chapter 13 and onward, and I just lost track of the story I wanted to tell.
As for Chalice: For me, TSTS is about a family that has been torn apart and how families can survive terrible things, and grow to include more people! Chalice is a vital part of that family, and in the current draft I kind of overlooked Chalice. Now, I don't technically need to have her play a bigger role, but I want to. I want Chalice to play a bigger part because I believe she has an important story to tell - one that I strongly resonate with. (But here's a fun fact- she isn't actually my favorite character at all! That honor goes to Mugman! xD But, I advocate for Chalice because I believe so strongly in the story that I want her to tell.)
Additionally, Chalice has a HUGE role to play in the finale, but I didn't develop her well enough in the initial draft for her role in the finale to feel satisfying. (But you are right- 3 protagonists is EXHAUSTING, but I made a few changes that I think will balance it well!)
Now to clarify, I'm not going to rewrite everything. Chapters 7-12 are what I'm calling my "golden standard", so those and some others (Chp. 15, 20, etc.) will not undergo massive changes. What I want is to reshape TSTS's current writing into something that better matches the dream story that has haunted my brain for the past 5 years or so. Of course the dream has changed and been shaped by the DLC, by the Cuphead Show, and by you guys- all my wonderful readers! - but I still hold onto parts of that original story. Parts I almost lost in trying to finish a story while very burnt out. I want to be able to honor those nearly lost parts of the story.
Was it a completely necessary change to rewrite everything?
Depends on who you ask. And once again, I'm not rewriting everything!
But, was the rewrite necessary? For me it was.
This story means a lot to me and has a lot of roots in my own childhood and experiences. It's my baby in some ways, one that will have its 6 year anniversary this summer. I want it to be as perfect as I can get it, not just for me, but for all the people it represents and all of the readers that my words have somehow managed to touch.
Thank you for your question, and I hope my word vomit of an answer makes sense! Also, don't worry - your English is very easy for me to read!
Thank you so much for your support and I hope you have an amazing day!
- Ink

absolutely ZIPPING through the game this time around. we're already at the tiefling party! despite doing some fights earlier than before we're still only about to be level 5 but between the creche and the underdark we should be level 6 by act 2.
-gale asked me if i wanted to see some magic and i was like sure man yeah :) and then shadowheart went you and gale look cozy ;) and i went oh fuck that was not how i wanted that interaction to be perceived!! and freaked out and reloaded but then i felt bad and went back because i remembered there was a platonic version of the scene. but then in the end i ended up blowing him off to think about lae'zel beating me up sexual style again because i didn't know if that would affect our relationship. i'm sorry gale :( you are still callis' bffsie even if they sometimes need to call you out for wizard classism.
-at first i didn't really get the people on reddit saying they'd never be able to romance another companion that wasn't their original chosen partner because i like all the companions so much but i do kind of get it now because OUGHHHH KARLACHHHHHHH GOD i want to kiss her every time she's on screen. if i manage to get mods (geforce now does not support them though. sad) i need to download the poly one i need a yuri polycule.
-battles continue to be pleasantly beatable...hopefully this continues. i was worried about having two squishy wizards but so far they seem to be holding their own pretty well! so far. still though.
-the first time we fought dror ragzlin and all the other goblins we initiated battle by putting a smokepowder barrel next to his throne and blowing it up so he went flying into the chasm on the other side of the throne. it was awesome and i wanted to do it again but it didn't work this time?? he didn't fly in he just got close...maybe it has to be done while he's standing or something. but we had 4 barrels and the blast ended up killing him anyway so it worked out. shoving goblins into the spider pit is one of the most satisfying ways to kill people in the entire game in my opinion
-gale and wyll are both in some really stupid armor. i didn't take screenshots but i made them purple and red respectively so they were a little more matchy but they still look pretty dumb. sorry guys once we get some better stuff you'll look so cool i promise
something awesome i noticed. idk if it's underlined because oh no another owlbear!!!! or omg a baby owlbear <3333 but i hope it was the second one that's how i feel. cub!
#we spared minthara but stole her armor. #callis might still be dressed in it when they find her at moonrise which would be funny as fuck.#nyx goes questing

Ooooooooooooh I love the idea that no one ever figured out that the "ghost" That was taking down the mob was actually two people and Ingo and Emmet have always been able to play the part. They're the secret backup nobody ever knows about!
aiejgoiajeorjf the bond between Chandelure and the twins is so!!!!! I'd love to see how the three of them heal in the aftermath. I imagine the cracks on Chandelure's glass would never fully go away, but I feel like seeing Chandelure heal would be very... Satisfying? Gratifying? Relieving? One of those. Both as a reader and to the twins. Just proof that things are getting better. Forever changed, but healing
It definitely feels like it fits with this au's version of Nimbasa: Cracked, but not broken and capable of healing
I think I had something to say about the distortion world too but it just flew from my mind
[Adding a Keep reading bc this has gotten longer and longer, lol]
I would so so so love to see in what ways the boys help Nimbusa aside from fighting mobsters. 'Cause that can't be the only thing they're doing to help. Like, are they known by a bunch of little old ladies as the two boys that run around Nimbasa helping people? Would the little old ladies even know the boys are helping people? Is there just a little gossip group that occasionally talks about these boys they see running around Nimbasa and they spend like an hour each time they're brought up speculating on what they do with around the city?
There's got to be someone who's not a mobster that has seen the boys and what they do
Now I can't stop thinking about their reputation among the populace outside of the reputation as subway masters
Did the boys really clean up Nimbasa almost entirely by themselves? Or did they make friends a long way who also helped in small ways? It would be very onbranded for the , Pokemon world that two teenage boys could clean up an entire city, considering prepubescent child can takedown Team Rocket, a mob that's functioning across an entire region, but still
Now that I'm thinking about their reputation among Nimbasa's citizenry, I'm also wondering about their reputation among the local pokemon. Since they were living on the streets for a while, they're more likely to run into pokemon that live around the city, and since most of their anti-mob excapades have been inside the subway (I'm still not entirely clear on whether or not this is mostly taking place in the tunnels, or if this takes place in the actual subway stations as well) I imagine they run into a lot of Pokemon living down there too
Due to their initial ignorance about battling culture, do they treat well pokemon differently? Are there a lot of homeless kids running around the city? Do some Pokemon know them as the weird, small humans that sort of give off a Litwick vibe (Their zappy aura)? Did they meet any of their pokemon on the on the street? Garbodor Would be the obvious one, but they found Litwick without leaving Nimbasa, so I'm curious what else you could think of
Do they perhaps have pokemon friends on the street who help them in their anti-mob escapades from time to time? If you wanted to explore that, you could probably swing it by having the gangs do something that disturb the Pokemon like poaching or something
Haha, I think I'm thinking about their reputation (pre-subway boss) among the general populace so much because I've read a lot of Batman fics that explore life in Crime Alley. Especially from the children's perspective because I like time travel. They've got child gangs who help each other survive, information networks (People might ignore you, but it's really hard to run around completely unnoticed), landlords who don't ask questions because they don't wanna get involved in your shit (They're either more sketchy than you or don't want to get involved in whatever you're involved in; plausible deniability), old ladies who give soup to their neighbors sometimes because the build might be horrible but not everybody in it is, the works!
Okay so this is completely raw train of thought that I refuse to be embarrassed over. It also may jump around because it was written on two different days, since I had more Ideas™ about it.
Also, Emmet in the distortion world is absolutely influenced by @that1nkyone‘s Distortion Guide AU, tho not lifting anything from where they are taking that story. Just that their idea of Emmet being in the distortion world definitely inspired my brain to go this way.
This is in my (god damnit I need a title) anti-mob AU
–
How Ingo Disappears
Ingo and Emmet get overwhelmed by some group. Possibly make it Team Plasma, set during B&W 2 or something. Or just some splinter group trying to rekindle things. (Actually maybe when I think this AU out I could figure out how to make team Plasma the mob group. Hmmmm….) Either way, and for whatever reason, Ingo and Emmet are tied up while the group tries to do their thing.

Best Action Adventure Games
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is an amazing recreation. It is truly a creative, thoughtful rendition of the Marvel property. After playing the game, I'd love even more than anything to plunge into the world that created this group of heroes with a ragtag look. And at this moment, I'm thinking I truly will because I have fallen additionally in love with the world. Regardless of the world truly being inundated with superheroes appearing on the silver screen, it truly is only in the past decade that we've been able to provide gamers with seriously distinctive and relaxing games based on comic book components. With Guardians of the Galaxy, players can play among the most enjoyable comic book games available, which can distinguish themselves on their own from the tremendously well-known MCU brand and which can lovingly alter the abundant, illustrated world that it is based on. The original hurdle Guardians of the Galaxy needed to overcome was distinguishing it from James Gunn's vision. The films "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2" were fantastic, bringing the Guardians to the forefront and adding much-needed character to the individual pre-"Avenger" films. Without a doubt, Eidos-Montreal's job is cut out for them for their upcoming film. On its initial public appearance, Guardians of the Galaxy was mocked as a copy-and-paste-style version that was a copy-paste version of its MCU counterpart. Nonetheless, nothing will be any further from the facts than you already know.
Eidos-Montreal certainly uses Gunn's style selections to create. Star-Lord presents a ripped-far from the world of Earth from the 1980s and is obsessed with the sounds of his time. Characteristics like Rocket Raccoon's aggression and Drax the Destroyer's tendencies to be a literalist are on full display within the action. The acting and direction of those films happened to be superb and functioned to describe the non-comic personalities of these characters. Yet still, after virtually two hours during the contest, I had no idea what to think of Chris Pratt or Bradley Cooper. I believe there may end up being some gamers who are unable to distinguish these two characters from one another because of the way their brains work. However, it's not as big of an issue as it was in the past year's Avengers play, where those titular characters and actors weren't provided with enough product.
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most conversational little games ever made. You will find a good number of RPGs loaded with inane conversations with NPCs that are one-offs, but I am unable to imagine the number of terms and pages that make up this game's script. From page 1 until the very end, Peter "Star-Lord" Quill, Drax, Gamora, Rocket, and Groot are talking nearly nonstop. In a sense, people could consider this to be the "Gilmore Girls" game. The raucous banter between all five characters in the show is unstoppable. And, while that word may have negative connotations, I cannot think of a better word to describe it. Discussions are threaded through quests, fights or idle strolls, dogfights, and life-threatening episodes. Conversations are a constant stream of words, as Groot may discuss his trademark "I am Groot" as Rocket translates, while Gamora and Drax tend to be engaged in their specific dialogue. The characters can speak, but it never feels like they are speaking without purpose. Every word, every stupid joke, or cruel comment is based on a thought-provoking perspective that the writers employed to make the characters more distinct. It never felt like an unnecessary flood of verbose rubbish. This truly is the way the Guardians communicate in their groups and with each other. One thing Guardians of the Galaxy greatly benefits from is the structured gaming experience it provides. Without multiplayer or games-as-a-service game mechanics to satisfy, the overall game seems highly polished as well as curated and, above all, ample in detail. As you progress through the story, you will be able to switch between your home on the Milano, the Guardians spaceship, and the various locations you explore throughout the game. Each place you visit is very different from the other, as it is a place that feels alien to the touch in kaleidoscopic color. In between missions, it's enjoyable exploring the ship to find interesting objects to chat with, talk with the staff, and if you're a worrier like me personally shut the fridge door, which is always open in your kitchen on the ship. If you uncover items hidden in each world, you'll also be able to have another conversation with other Guardians, which will give their characters and background and provide some of the most intimate connections you'll have in the video game. You'll also have a variety of options for dialogue—usually, they ask you to choose with one Guardian or another, make decisions on how to respond to an issue, or determine what the focus of your team should always be. These selections may alter the circulation of the adaptation of the story, as certain possibilities could affect your relationships with different groups of people or your relationship with the team. You can choose to go against Rocket repeatedly, in which case he may start to feel a bit petty, which could limit his truthful willingness to assist your future. These choices don't appear to change the narrative in any way However, you can play them according to "what sounds" significantly more enjoyable at the moment.
The fight is thrilling. You control Quill in almost every moment of every battle, and you legitimately look like the leader of the Guardians. Drax and Co. all provide their strengths, and they'll fight by themselves, but they're influenced by Quill. Each hero presents a unique power in battles, such as crowd control (Groot) or the ability to conduct enormous problems (Gamora). The way you use their strengths can determine the course of the fight. In fighting, gamers go around firing their guns at foes and dodging, making use of Peter's rocket boots. As close Peter is to an opponent, the more harm he can cause. Firing would not last forever, as ultimately the guns will overheat, but can be swiftly recharged when you hit R2 at the appropriate time. Like Peter, the players are expected to battle with a tactical sense in their minds. Through storyline development or abilities points, Peter, along with the remaining Guardians, retains four abilities that aren't locked and are put on the encounter keys. Peter's abilities tend to be turned on by clicking the left stick. It may feel somewhat clumsy from time to time during battle. The team's abilities are activated by holding down the L1 button while aiming at the enemy, hitting an appropriate face button for a specific teammate, and after that, pressing a face button that is assigned to the player's specific ability.
Puzzles play an important part in exploration, but they aren't especially tricky. The variety of worlds and locations is done to perfection. I was fascinated by the places to go off and find some treasures, such as, for example, particular elements to supply to my sexy colleagues to study much more about their valuable past and get a hold of the latest clothes to equip. The assorted locations are breathtaking to look at, and every single one is unique due to its vegetation and monsters. Lady Hellbenders' animal sanctuary planet is truly lush with greenery and strange humanoid sculptures. There's also the chance to explore spaceships and the massive spaceport "Knowhere," which resides inside the skull of a massive celestial being. Hidden crafting elements are scattered all over the world, which lets you upgrade the perks. While at a workbench, Rocket can improve Star-Lord by making him new equipment systems that are represented as benefits. You will discover fifteen in total, ranging from faster shield recharge, greater wellness, and reduced time required to complete a perfect dodge. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is all you can want from a Marvel videogame that is the best of both electric situations and thought-provoking junctures. The images immediately grab your attention with stunning views and vivid shades that range from neon lights and the markets at Knowhere to the sprawling scenery of Lady Hellbenders' Seknarf Nine. To go along with the video game's unbelievable visuals are the facial animations.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart pursues the happenings of 2013's Ratchet & Clank: Inside the Nexus and Expression Franchise legendary characters Ratchet and Clank, in addition to the introduction of a new character playable in Rivet. While Rift Apart actually does technically follow the events of Into the Nexus, it can be played out in its own game without knowing about Into the Nexus. It is the first game created for the next-generation consoles. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is truly intended to highlight all of the distinguishing characteristics which make PlayStation 5 such an appetizing purchase.
The amazing year 2016 PS4 update of the first Ratchet & Clank made for an entertaining retread of its very own, but it was iterative-this walked so Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart could run. It's awe-inspiring, indeed, how the game runs. The Rift away shows the PS5 an intense workout. This provides you with sweeping artwork of characters and models for the characters, along with lighting and effects, that don't appear outside of the spot in a 3D-animated movie, and its particular fluid combat could spotlessly feature tens of opponents and projectiles on the monitor all at once, without any issues. Getting errors out of the way early on, there are only a few errors throughout Ratchet & Clank: Rift Away, but they're small. At one point, I noticed myself jumping onto a ledge only to be caught in some geometry, resulting in a quick demise. But since quicksaves are extremely easily placed and there's no punishment for dying, these little troubles just didn't bother me even somewhat. My brain stayed deadlocked on the artwork, the storyline, and the battle. All of them seamlessly connect and are so incredibly captivating that it is hard to get angry when something goes wrong.
At its heart, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is very much a new platformer meets third-person shooter game and, while it's not an open-world game, the design of the levels makes it appear as if you're part of something larger, which is why the illusion is right there, including quests and subquests that aid you in exploring these new universes. Similar to former gaming titles, you have the mechanic wrench you have been using to smash crates like Thor, which allows you to collect bolts, which are later used to buy new products and improve your existing models. The process of leveling up can help you when you are on your final quest, in particular, the bad guys that you encounter. When you ride on canines, grind like Tony Hawk, float around jumping, smashing, fighting, exploring, and meeting new friends, one exciting new feature is your ability to tether to portals. When you connect to portals, this allows you to be teleported to another location, which is truly useful when fighting against enemies or wishing to solve mysteries. Just keep in mind that you will need to reorient yourself from time to time. Another innovative mechanic is the phantom dash, which allows you to rewind reality to reach another location faster, which again works for double jumps. As well, while Ratchet and Rivet are alike in the way they play, fans of Clank will be delighted to learn that, once again, you get to manage this bot through puzzles and mini-missions, including an alternate galaxy spider named Glitch (Sara Amini) who hacks. Also, there's KT, who happens to be the alternate world's Clank and is also a fun brand-new character from the series.
Buy Cheap Games for PlayStation.
Combat is well-handled via the game title and you have use of a wide great diversity of totally different arms, from common blasters to a couple of absolutely clever suggestions which I'm not going to discuss here, such as power-ups that have been purchased through your bolt collecting. However, the game isn't without its challenges in certain instances, especially if the adversaries start to gather while you try to shoot with aplomb to save your life. Fortunately, the developers have included a few level stages, and if people simply want to relax and take in the story without too much stress, this is certainly an alternative. Nevertheless, on those higher difficulty levels, ammunition is scarce and the boss battles are indeed an obstacle, but not quite on the very same scale as Demon Souls.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
In the form of an action-adventure Kena: Bridge of Spirits lets players explore a vast and varied world to defeat evil spirits and cleanse the land of corruption. Armed with a sword and capable of drawing upon spirit vitality, Kena is truly adaptable in what she will do. The plot is told through fully-voiced cutscenes, some of which use the in-game engine, while some use fully animated CGI All of which look like something definitely from Pixar or Dreamworks. The animation is stunning in the spiritually charged universe that borrows from historic Eastern cultures. When you assist the spirits of one group while other arcs explore the same serious narrative template quality of the screenplay, this is a universe that's not difficult to lose yourself in, and the cast list is truthfully enjoyable because they each traverse a path of love and loss in their unique way.
There are a variety of quests and jobs you can perform, some as simple as finding the Rot and putting a statue back in place, and others that require the next step and trying to test your accuracy using the bow during a shooting challenge that unlocks another Rot. One of the things I completely love is the chests with curses, which are close to a specific combat task to overcome ( across the fast region) that you must accomplish as a way to open them. Nothing can be said to be a challenge in Kena: Bridge of Spirits is more complex than a Fallout quest, but every little thing is fun and corresponds with the things you've done in other games, such as Sly Cooper as well as the aforementioned PS2 classics.
Besides these, you can find many collectibles to be found, and the game even outlines exactly how many you need to locations across the globe. In the meantime, before we jump into the fight of Kena Let's talk about the rot that I talked about in the last paragraph. These tiny black blobs of a creature tend to be certainly delightful, along with the form the game's title makes use of them is incredible. When you gather the blobs, they prove useful in numerous steps. The most charming aspect is that you simply don't need to spend a lot of time with them since they won't die, as most NPCs do in battle scenarios. This is handled via "they truly are terrified tiny beings and you must build up their courage by fighting to increase the meter", which is a great method of explaining the amazing moves they offer. Operating these could result in significant damage, but it is extremely beneficial on occasions when your overall health is compromised. The Rot becomes increasingly useful in lifting objects to search for more Rot, moving statues back to their original positions, and even moving boxes to assist Kena in getting to difficult-to-reach places. You will find an extremely powerful rot capability; offering them the liquid of a bloom them all into a rushing cavalcade of rots that resemble their specific original phase and can take out the corruption along with unlocking and healing distinctive areas. However, they're not completely useless to you, since they can feed the corruption flowers when you've cleaned the opponents' free, purifying the spot you are in.
Here you can buy cheap games, from all categories whether we are talking about action adventure, racing, sports, strategy, or shooters.
Although the action aspect of the entire action-platformer game is very strong, the platforming portion is a bit less luminous in comparison, specifically the bouncing. Invisible structures are generally awkwardly present as players attempt to jump over rooftops or platforms they're not meant to reach. The design decision for it to be essentially vertical was a mistake, not simply because it's uncomfortable, but because it also creates the impression that you can reach specific surfaces, which the invisible wall structure eventually keeps you from. Kena: Bridge Of Spirits might attract some aged influences, but the way this assembles the parts of the mystery makes it appear very contemporary indeed. The video game will charm you with its lovable universe, only to smack you around a little with its ferociousness. While the gameplay is the weakest component, however, overall, Kena is a great time that should not be forgotten.

[TRANS] 190302 ‘IU with Ghana’ Fan Meeting - Important Talk Compilation
IU: It’s been a while since I last greeted all of you right? Did you all miss me? (YESSS) I think the weather has gotten a lot warmer~ I came lightheartedly and dressed prettily in spring outfit with big earrings and applied the trendiest lipstick color to meet y’all today. This venue gives off familiar vibes of the small-theatre concert that we had years ago. I also came with my mint microphone to match with the spring vibes, so I thought it’d be great if Ghana could release mint flavoured chocolate too. I think it’s gonna sell like hotcakes, don’t you think so? Who wants mint Ghana chocolate? (MEEEEE!!!!!!) Well I'm sure some of you don’t fancy the flavour, but if Ghana were to release it, I would do my best to promote it! As one of the loyal consumers, I could say that Ghana’s my soul food, so I hope to keep endorsing this if I’m ever given the chance to. My love for Ghana is quite obvious to be honest, you can definitely tell that I look a bit more excited in Ghana’s CFs as compared to the others. I was so happy upon receiving the offer from Ghana, you can say that i’m a successful fan! So I have a lot of affection for it, and i’m sure some of you feel the same way as I do too. Do you love Ghana? (YESSSS) Now, I’ll perform another song before we proceed to the next session, which is Palette. I bet this will be my last chance to perform ‘Palette’ before I officially turn 26 (internationally).
IU: How did y’all get to attend this event? Uaenas: Lottery-based system! The more you purchase, the higher chances you’d get. IU: But I’m sure there are people who just genuinely like Ghana chocolate and got chosen right? Guy: Yea, that’s me IU: It’s okay, I’ll just turn you into my fan through this event today~ Uaenas: /cheers/
Q&A SESSION
Q1. Unnie, can you please reveal your account number by ‘mistake’…?
IU: You want me to reveal my account number…? What do you want to send me 😂 As much as I want to, I honestly can’t remember my account number, so I’ll just accept your heart today.
Q2. What’s the song that you’re into these days?
IU: Actually, I’ve been working on (composing) lots of songs these days. Nowadays, I’ve been listening to songs by Still Woozy, who’s a foreign artist and umm…. never mind, I don’t think you guys would know them as you can tell by now that I have weird music taste. But my fans have diverse music taste, so I really want to recommend a good song for them.
Uaena: Tell us about your new song!
IU: My new song is really good. (*cheers*) I think the album will turn out to be really amazing! No doubt my fans are curious about this so I’ll talk a bit about it. I’m working on a new album, well not really new since I’ve mentioned before at my concert that it’s been modified and revised for many times (just like BBIBBI), basically the ‘tone’ itself has changed.
*IU said she initially wanted to write a song to show her gratitude towards Uaenas, but ‘BBIBBI’ eventually digressed quite a bit from that and turned into a warning song instead, a song about what makes a good relationship between people.
IU: I’ve added a few things so I was worried, but it turned out better than I expected. I think the only thing left is for me to do well for my part. I think I'm highly satisfied with the songs and I think the album will turn out to be something I’m satisfied with too. You guys know I don’t really talk about things like this right? I tend to keep it to myself when it comes to stuff like this but I think you guys can really look forward to my new album!
Q3. Your favourite Ghana chocolate?
IU: For me, it’s the milk chocolate. But these days when i’m bored, I chew on some caramel chocolate too, it’s yummy!
Q4. Jieunie noona, I lost my wallet today. Perhaps can you sing a song to cheer me up?
IU: How can you get back home without your wallet? Where’s your house, do you have a transportation card with you?
Uaena: I contacted my mom… (the fan is a middle-schooler)
IU: Oh no.. you must have had you student ID and cash in it…is it?
Uaena: 3000 won
IU: Oh…you would have been able to buy two Ghana chocolates with that 3000 won, but it’s okay I’ll give you two of it instead.
Q5. I’m a fan from Busan, my boyfriend is a Uaena too! What do you think of couple fans?
IU: I think they would be so happy! Though it’s something rare, but I think it’s great to be a ‘couple fans’! They can relate with each other and watch my concert together.
Uaena: We are planning to get married this year!
IU: I can sing a congratulatory song at your wedding then!
Q6. Jieun unnie, which of your many projects will be released first?
IU: Not sure if I can share this here but it’s probably the long awaited short film series ‘Persona’! The release date has finally been scheduled, but I can’t say anything for sure as the production team has their plans. I’ve been told that ‘Persona’ will be available on various great platforms in April. Please look forward to it.
Q7. Unnie, can we replicate the Uaena soundwave ring and wear it?
IU: For your information, I gave 2000 limited soundwave rings to my fans at a fan meeting in celebration of my 10th debut anniversary. I think the fan is referring to that but honestly haven’t you guys been doing that (replicating the ring) for awhile now? 😂 Our staff have seen lots of people wearing it and asked whether they were Uaenas (who attended the FM) but the fans told them it’s the replicated version. But how did you guys replicate it exactly like the original version? Is it possible?
Q8. What’s the movie of your life?
IU: It’s among the recent movies that I’ve watched. Not too recent, but I watched a movie called ‘The World Of Us’ during the end of last year. It’s a story about kids and there was a great line that really hit me at the end of the movie. Can I spoil the movie? A young boy kept getting bullied by the kids and his older sister was like “didn’t I tell you not to play with them? So what did you do next?” and the boy replied that he just continued to play with them. So his sister got so mad and asked him why didn’t he fight back but the boy replied “if we kept fighting back & forth, when will we ever get to play together?” The line hit me so hard because it was that great to me! It’s a healing movie.

(1/3) I adore your analyses of Skam France, I feel like they are spot on. Honestly, I found that Lucas is the first Isak character that I feel extremely attached to and it's the first time I'm glad we're not going to be seeing much (if any) of Eliott in the next episode. It's like I'm sharing Lucas' need for some distance and I really want to see him grow into himself on his own terms (as opposed to having it be motivated by his desire to be with someone, you know?).
That’s so kind of you, thank you!
It’s really interesting that you say that about needing some distance for Lucas. Although I technically feel closer to a different version of his character, I’ve found myself feeling the same thing too! Like I absolutely adore Eliott and in previous episodes, I missed his smile and presence so much, I had withdrawal, but ever since the end of episode 5, I’ve needed a bit of time away from him. Not because I don’t absolutely adore him still or that my heart doesn’t ache for his own secret situation, but what Lucas went through is so heavy. It’s so traumatic. It’s like he went through a full relationship in the space of a week because of Eliott’s openness and thirstiness. And I think we can’t help but take on some of that trauma too even though we are third parties with the benefit of distance (and knowledge of the future, hah).
I think in certain situations, a time out is just so necessary. You need space to figure your own thoughts out and process everything in your own way. Especially when you are going through significant life-changing identity transitions. You said it so well when you say it would be great for Lucas to do that on his own terms. Unfortunately for Lucas, he’s only had the weekend to process things! It’s a little ironic that out of all the Isak characters, the person who would have benefited from a week hiatus the most would be Lucas, as much as I hate the pain of hiatuses…
But as we all know, France plays dirty so of course Lucas was still far too raw to have to see Eliott so ‘soon’… And as you predicted, it changed things. He was angrier, sadder, couldn’t stop his eyes from tearing up…
I was so impressed that Lucas was even able to speak to Eliott (and give him such a great smack down too), considering his past M.O. has been that heartbreaking muteness. If he is this openly upset with Eliott, it would certainly suggest that, psychologically, a drawing isn’t going to cut it. It would have to be one hell of a drawing. Even an ‘I choose you’ drawing wouldn’t cut it because Lucas has already seen Eliott make that claim in the school corridor before completely backflipping and going back to Lucille anyway! Why would a new drawing now prove anything has changed for Eliott? Eliott has broken Lucas’ trust too badly. (I know Eliott at least initiated an ‘I need to take a break’ text before going back to Lucille but how does Lucas know Eliott wasn’t always with her and just playing him?)
This leaves us in such a conundrum.
After their cafeteria encounter, Eliott needs to find another way to communicate with Lucas because face-to-face is just too brutal and confronting for both of them right now. Elliot was trying to write a letter, but as people have pointed out, Eliott is more naturally able to express himself in art. So...he’ll probably communicate in a drawing or the mural? But is that going to be good enough for Lucas? It won’t solve the underlying trust issue.
What could Eliott possibly do to get Lucas to trust him again? Any big display of his feelings could still feel like ‘You’re just trying to manipulate me again to butter me up for your own needs’. I mean, Eliott already did a big display of his affections with the ‘I saw you the first day I came to school’ declaration and was still so hot and cold with Lucas and didn’t leave Lucille. Eliott just…isn’t trustworthy despite his best intentions right now. (And obviously not because he is actually an untrustworthy person but because he is having to hide a big part of his life.)
The only thing that I could see helping Lucas really trust Eliott is seeing his ig diary because it is timestamped. But I don’t think the writers could reveal Eliott’s thoughts to Lucas yet without ruining the effects of the big twist later (ie. if Lucas learns this early that Eliott always liked him for real, he’d be less inclined to believe what Lucille claims later, and that whole week of miscommunication would narratively be a write-off).
So where does this leave me and my thoughts? I feel like no matter what Eliott does this week, it can only feel like a band-aid solution. Something would be better than nothing though. While a drawing won’t fix things (and Lucas would still have to guard his own feelings), it still might ease a small portion of Lucas’ sadness. And maybe because Lucas is in love with Eliott and would be missing the times they did share together, Lucas would still accept a drawing. Just like the way he still ‘forgave’ Eliott for standing him up without proper explanation. Because love makes us do things we wouldn’t normally do and give more leeway to people who have hurt us…
After all, when Eliott left Lucas’ bed for Lucille (or so Lucas probably assumed) and left him that hedgehog drawing, Lucas didn’t even smile looking at it. And yet it secretly meant so much to him because he carried it with him even at school!
My gut instinct is that things will still play out fairly similarly to the og just because there is so little else that Eliott can actually do to try and fix things (without exposing himself in ways he isn’t ready to yet). Lucas might be a little angry at Eliott for reaching out with something like a drawing while he still feels played, but he also might like it despite himself because it is hope and he does love Eliott and it would be nice to know that the person you love is thinking of you and going out of their way to do things for you. That hope might be able to coexist with Lucas’ distrust and heartbreak…
Since the damage is so great though, I think when Eliott does reach out with something arty, it can’t just be an alternate universe comic. It would have to be something with more effort like the clever things Eliott did with the Polaris ig puzzle. Why? Because Lucas already had an alternate universe comic while Eliott was hot and cold... It would just feel like the same old pattern all over again and not worth giving a second thought to. Like ‘You already did this and it changed nothing.’ Eliott needs to channel his Extra-ness and do something a little extra to prove his mindset is different this time. And then maybe I will be personally satisfied. ;)
I have my own trust issues with Skam France though. We will probably just get another goddamn drawing, haha.
#ask#anon#skamfr thoughts#wow this feels long even for me#sorry haha#i am so curious as to what eliott is going to do now!#thank you for sharing your thoughts#i think we are totally on the same page
