Hello <3 I have an idea for a request. Linkuei trio (and if you want other characters too) are having an argument with the reader, but suddenly she gives them a kiss to silence them. How would they feel or react? Sorry if this is stupid, I saw it in a novel and I liked it 😔

author note: this is not a stupid request, you idiot(lmao)! It is a scrummy idea that oiled my brain gears, so thank you🫶🏻. One last thing, the reader is already Tomas s/o in his part.

Bi-Han:

-Sektor, your friend, finally has a date with his crush. Honestly you are happy for him. It's already a miracle someone could suffer him for more than 12 hours and still wanting to kiss him dumb. -But between him and his date there is an obstacle: Bi-Han, your boss. -Your work is pretty different from theirs, but Bi-Han saw in you a precious resource, so he decided to keep you after Sektor brang you to him. -Being a precious resource means that you also have to hear him yap and throw a tantrum in your and Sektor shared kitchen, walking left and right like a madman waiting to block the scientist from his romantic date. -"They aren't right for him." "I should be his only thought." "They aren't even Lin Kuei!" -You listen to him, his words entering from an ear and exiting from the other without being elaborated in your brain, your ass sit tight on the chair with no real intention of standing up to calm him down. -It's unbelievable how you got a crush for this man-child. -"Why can't Sektor be happy? Having a distraction is nice, plus his brain can have more stimulus interacting with someone else." Bi-Han opens his mouth and you are sure he tells you something but your brain shut down the moment his lips open, not being ready to hear another chant of "No Lin Kuei" "He cannot-" and blah blah blah. -But you have a mission, one that you accepted after seeing Sektor getting on his knees and begging for your help. "Please distract Bi-Han while I run out from the house." -Clock is ticking, and you know the hour of the date is approaching. You are already tired, the flood of words from the usually silent grandmaster filled your ears for the year to come. -Then you decide to act. -"Plus they can't be good because-" Words hang in the air. You finally lift yourself up from the chair, just to grab the collar of Bi-Han uniform and kiss him, or better kiss his upper lip since his mouth was wide open. -You break the touch, hoping that now his scolding will be directed to you long enough for Sektor to escape. -What you don't expect is to see the kitchen twirl, and to find yourself cornered between the fridge and the kitchen island, back on the cold wall, front against a even colder chest, icy mouth sucking yours, teeth playing with your lower lip. -His fingers grip is hard, leaving indents in the back of your thighs trying to pull them up, around his hips. -You follow his implicit order, like a doll in the owner hands, his crotch now dangerously close to yours, tongue overpowering yours, their dance played in your warm mouth. -Bi-Han end the kiss, his thin lips just an inch away from yours, a heavy breath coming out from his nose. "You are not doing this to distract me from Sektor, right?" You try to look around, then your eyes land again on his face, on his dark and deep eyes. "Totally. Do you wanna stop?" "Absolutely not." His lips are back on yours, devouring you as a delicious meal. -Sektor is able to sneak away, between your shared groans and mewls, a smirk on his face. He is happy that his friend was finally able to get with Bi-Han. -Do you have a crush for Bi-Han? Well, you will be astounished when you'll find out he has been obsessed with you for far longer.

Kuai Liang:

-"Liang listen to me!" "No! I've already decided." -You follow him through the chambers of his mansion as best as you can since he is almost running. -"It is an important package, and I'm the only one free that can deliver it to Lord Liu Kang. Let me-" "For the last time, no." Liang finally turns around, eyes firm and eyebrows furrowed, making you take a step back for how big and imposing he looks right now. -"But why…I know I'm not a strong warrior but-" You feel your voice breaking and you hate it, but as a side effect Liang expression softens up. His hands that were tight on his side now reach for your cheeks. "Don't cry." "I'm not. But the world is at risk Liang! My life has no value compared to-" -You can't finish the phrase, your grandmaster soft lips shutting you up. Liang removes himself immediately, your kiss lasting as long as a blink of an eye, his soft black eyes looking at you. -He even crouches a little, waiting to understand your reaction, his thick fingers drawing circles on the apple of your cheeks, removing some tears that slip your eyes. -Liang decides to be the first to talk, breaking the silence. "There is no world for me if you aren't in it. No world matters if you don't live in it. Don't go 'till I get back." His forehead knocks against yours, eyes now closed, and his feelings for you now clear. -You gasp, no words leave your mouth, no muscle moving. Not until Liang opens his eyes again, and finally, your body works. -And Liang sees it, the same fire that burns him alive every time he looks at you, that turns to ashes any thought that isn't you, monopolising his entire being. -This kiss is way more intense, your hands grip his collar, pushing him close to your body, not a single gap for air. His right hand rests tight on the back of your head while the other slips lower, massaging and groping. -If only he had a bit more of time… -"I have to go now, fireball." Liang whispers to your lips. "Don't go until I'm back. Be good, and we will be able to do this and much more." He smirks, eyes full of mirth. -You nod. This time he won.

Tomas Vrbada:

-"You are wrong and being stubborn." "I know what I'm talking about. You are being contrarian!" -You both are walking at Madame Bo restaurant, customers long gone, just the two of you arguing. -Why? Who remembers, you just know you want to be right and Tomas is on the same wavelength. -"You know I am right. You are just being childish." He tells you, with that damn finger pointing at you. Of all the habits he could take from his big brother, the finger-pointing one irate you like nothing else. -You look at him, Tomas looks delightful, cheeks slightly red from anger, his eyes magnetic, and he reeks confidence. Maybe you don't mind this side. -"You always want to win. You are such a younger brother." You can't hear it, but you see something snapping in his brain. You struck a nerve, and his mind is ready to throw a reply that will literally devour you. -But your mind is faster, finding a solution that won't make you win, but also won't make Tomas explode. -Your lips push against his ones, and after a second of surprise Tomas reciprocates, much angrier than you, much more forceful. -You soon find your back against one of the wooden tables of the restaurant. Tomas grips an angle of tablecloth and pushes it down, the tableware following, breaking into pieces. He doesn't seem to mind, breaking the kiss just to push you on the table. -Madame Bo will kill both of you. -Tomas starts to kiss down your neck, kisses soon turns into small bites. "T-Tomas." He looks at you, mouth still dangerously close to your neck. "Do you even remember why we started arguing?" His smile wicked, his usual angelic face looking devilish. "Fuck no. For sure, it wasn't as good as this-" You gasp, Tomas teeth sinking into the skin of your throat. "I agree with you." "Then come back here, I haven't finished kissing you." "Yes, ma'am." -Fingers skillfully untie the strings of his uniform, your pants being pulled down as quickly. -You are right at the end. The method of fermentation of Tomas' favourite radish isn't as interesting as this.

Let's just say i'm not that surprised thanks to the datamine, but i'm impressed with Noob Saibot. He looks so fun!

(also, committing to chaos, Ed Boon tweeted the intro 12 hours before releasing the trailer. So many have thought that Noob's trailer would drop next week, but noooo, agent of chaos doesn't follow orders)

Story-wise, i'm so happy when Noob/Bi-Han talks about desiring a different future, the scene shows him and Kuai Liang. Cause despite having the personality of OG Sektor, Bi-Han still cares about Kuai Liang, and he is doing his best to ensure a better future for him and the Lin Kuei.

Now i wonder if Bi-Han had approached Liu Kang with a proposal for the Lin Kuei's expansion, would the Fire God approve his wish or not 😂 Cause it sounds to me that Liu Kang doesn't mind the Lin Kuei to pursue greatness, only if they do it the right way, and not forget their oath.

Still no explanation about him and Sektor, but i guess it's platonic? I'm just glad his trailer isn't as sappy as Sektor's.

I'll be honest (and this is purely my own opinion and may change in the future), i'm not a fan of Sektor x Bi-Han ship, not out of jealousy, but because it's abrupt, just like Kuai Liang x Harumi (and potentially, if the datamine is true, Kuai Liang x Cyrax used to have a past).

"Here, have two strong, smart, prodigy, female Lin Kuei warriors -- oh just fyi we know they're gonna get so much hate, so we pair them with the popular characters to diminish the hate. Hmm? Personality? Character arcs? Not important!"

Hell naah, i want to see Sektor leading the Cyber LK and move forward with the cyberizations. I want to see more conflict that has a huge stake, not just "oh it's fine we can fix that with the timeline thingy". I want Cyrax to embrace her free will instead of joining the Shirai Ryu. I want Harumi (more Harumi please) to show why the Outworld knows her, and why she allows herself to be married to Kuai Liang and lets him lead the clan instead of her being the Grandmaster.

Sektor's trailer

(she's literally so pretty, we're just living in her world)

I'm sick (on the literal sense of the word, like I actually woke up with a stomach ache). And then I saw the trailer was up, I couldn't watch it immediately because I was busy dying. But like now that I feel better... Boy oh boy. I have thoughts™

Starting up with whatever the fuck Johnny's wearing because girlie who made that choice for you 😭 I mean, alright I guess? Ugly ass skin for the future I think. I will still buy it if it's up for sale.

Also Sektor's smugness is really funny to me, she knows she's attractive, smart and talented. Which, queen shit honestly.

Up to her design, she is gorgeous and the gameplay seems fun enough for me. I'm not like a big fan of it, but I think I can grow fond of it. Same with Cyrax honestly. Her fatality was slightly better than Cyrax's, but I think Cyrax looks more fun to play.

Her personality really shines, Idk why. But I'm probably biased. Also, also, also, thing that got me kicking my feet and screaming is that she doesn't call Sub-Zero by his codename or by "Grandmaster", she straight up calls him Bi-Han (I know more characters do that, but with her it's a different vibe) And at first I thought it was more of a concerned alert "Bi-Han!" But she does it more than once and that makes me happy in a stupid way.

I like her arguments and national pride sentiment. Which is btw a thing I've been PUSHING FOR MONTHS. To see more of Sektor's and Sub Zero's ideology and plans for the future, why do they act the way they do. Their political agenda and else. I think she represents the popular sentiment amongst the Lin Kuei but with a hint of searching for progress, which makes her interesting to me. She's not fighting for anyone's grace, which I find cool.

But also can we talk about ... How Bi-Han got fucking kidnapped in the most looney tooney way ever. Dude just jumped and- Well, that's the dumbest way a Grandmaster can fucking die 😭 Y'ALL THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A LEADER. Pouring one out for him. And his character assassination

Finishing words, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna go. I think Sektor is the only character that genuinely got me hyped for the DLC (yeah, not even my fictional crush/boyfriend/husband/worst enemy Bi-Han). And I really hope they don't mess her up 😭😭 also I want to see madame no lecturing her. Scolding her. I wanna know what the fuck is that all about, but also, I want some Sektor, Bi Han, Madame Bo interaction.

Ive seen your Lin Kuei Brothers hc about movie reactions and they re hilarious. I watched Mean Girls the other day and thought about their reaction watching it. I bet Bi-han would stan Regina lol. What do you think?

This is short because tbh I don’t really see them liking it😭. I added a little Drabble cause this took so long.

Although the idea of him being a Regina George stan is conical, I don't really see him enjoying movies like Mean Girls 

I'm not sure what movies he'd like or if he's more of a book guy, but Mean Girls is campy fun about highschool drama. I just don't see him being interested 

I'm not sure any of them would really be interested in it honestly. Mean Girls isn't just a girls movie but these are men who are in their 30s-40s and just don't give me Mean Girl stan. Yk?

I just don't see him liking it at all. He's checked out the entire time and when he's told it's a classic, he doesn't understand why 

It's not the worst movie he's ever seen but it's not his favorite. He'll never go out of his way to see it again

“You didn't like it?”

“So?”

“So, it isn't for me”. Your frown deepened and he couldn't understand why. It was just a movie. He could understand why you liked it. It had childhood memories attached to it. He didn't have any memories attached to it, so to him, it was just a movie. 

“You suck ass” you finally said and crossed your arms. “I'm watching it again”. 

“Have fun with that”. 

I don't think he hates the movie but once again, I just don't see any of them truly appreciating it 

Teenage drama to him just isn't exciting. He's older so when problems arise he starts giving logical answers

Because that's the point of the movie Kuai 

He'll watch it maybe a few times with you if it keeps you happy

“I cannot believe you. We're gonna watch it again until you like it”. Kuai Liang was tempted to get up and go do literally anything else, but when you snuggled close to his arm, he figured there was no harm in trying again. As long as he was close to his favorite person. 

I can see him being the brother that understands the message the most 

For some reason people debate on who's actually a mean girl. Whether it's Regina, Cady, Janis, ect. 

Tomas can see that multiple characters are mean asf

Now once again, I don't see this being his cup of tea, but hate is too strong of a word 

Dislike is too strong of a word 

The movie is just eh to him. It's just a movie. He won't suffer if he watches it but he'll never choose to watch it on his own

I can see him lying about how much he enjoyed it so he ends up watching it a lot more than he wants to because you keep putting it on 

Even if this isn't his favorite movie, he definitely thinks the first is better than the sequel

This is a short headcanon.

Characters : Smoke, Kuai Liang, Bi-Han

Smoke's birthday

Wouldn’t notice what day it is

Goes about his day as usual meaning he’d mostly be patrolling around and training. 

He’d be confused for a second when you wished him happy birthday.

Has to look on a calendar to confirm what day it is. 

He’d jokingly complain about being a year older.

If you ask him what he wants to do on his birthday, he would just shrug.

The Lin Kuei never did anything for  birthdays so Tomas doesn’t expect anything.

“Your presence is a gift in and of itself, I don’t need anything else.”

(Y/n) would have none of it. Even if Tomas had affirmed them that he was fine with not having anything on his special day, that didn’t sit right with them. After a hard training, (Y/n) searched for the one person who knew Smoke better than them. 

“You're going to help me bake a cake.” They said to Scorpion once they found him meditating somewhere within the temple.

Surprisingly, the man agreed. 

Hours later, Smoke entered his room only to find the two of them waiting for him. A small cake laid on the table in between. Touched by the gesture, Smoke would smile, thanking whoever was up there for having met you.

Although this man didn’t care about his own birthday, it's the complete opposite with yours.

He remembers the date for a start.

He wouldn’t do something extravagant since again, the Lin Kuei usually didn’t do anything for birthdays.

However, you can expect to find flowers inside your room.

It's not much, but the gesture still makes you smile.

Finished with training for the day, they walked back to their own room for a well earned shower. Upon entering the dark lit room, (Y/n) was surprised when the light opened by themselves. There in the middle of their room were Smoke and Scorpion. Tomas was holding a plate with sweet bread on it, candles placed on top.

“Sorry, that’s all we could get.” Smoke said sheepishly.

Blowing out the candles, they smiled at the two boys.

“It's perfect.”

Much like smoke, this man doesn’t realise what day it is

Except, some of the other soldiers in the Lin Kuei would wish him a happy birthday.

One of them being you.

Give him a kiss and he’d melt all the snow around.

Saying something along the lines of you being the only gifts he needs.

Sadly, much like Tomas, this man focuses more on his duties for the clan than anything else. Even when it's his special day.

What he doesn’t know is that you and Smoke had made something for him.

“Happy Birthday.” (Y/n) exclaimed in between chuckles. 

Kuai Liang was surprised to see (Y/n) waiting for him by his bedroom door. It was rather late into the night. Wondering why they were there, the pyromancer found himself being lead by the hand somewhere else.

Arriving at one of Scorpion’s favourite places within the temple, (Y/n) smirked. Stepping slightly to the side, they tried their best to look innocent. Suspicious about something, Kuai failed to notice the smoke pooling at his feet. In a blink of an eye, sweet frosting was smeared on his face. Scorpion glared daggers at Smoke, who had finished materialising. 

Scorpion eyed them both before taking some of the frosting with his fingers. Despite the best effort to look menacing, Kuai Liang was smiling.

“You better start running.” 

Your birthday

“I just want to mention, it was their idea.” Tomas said before evaporating into a puff of smoke.

The moment you leave your room, two warm arms wrapped around your waist.

Wishing you a happy birthday, Kuai Liang would sadly have to leave you in order to complete his duty around the temple. 

Just like Smoke, this man would give you flowers.

I mean, the Lin Kuei temple is pretty isolated so there’s not much in terms of gifts.

Bi-han would silently judge his brother for caring about such a thing.

Watch out, Kuai Liang remembers what you’ve done on his birthday.

Finding a note inside their room asking them to meet in one of the Lin Kuei’s gardens, (Y/n) smiled. They haven't seen their partner for the entire day, since the man was always very busy. However, they suspected that Bi-Han, being the grumpy killjoy that he is, was behind this.

They did not think about what this simple note could mean. (Y/n) found out the hard way when, as they entered the garden, a cake was smeared on their face. 

Removing the frost blocking their eyes, (Y/n) stared at the two smirking boys. The cake was sweet, despite having been destroyed on their face. As laughter erupted inside the garden, (Y/n) could not have asked for a better birthday.

Oh boi.

This man would be grumpier than usual.

Would avoid anybody, even you.

He knows what day it is, that’s why he’d be this way.

Asking for the reason to Kuai would result in nothing.

Even his brother didn’t know why Bi-Han became this way on his birthday.

Good luck finding time to talk to him, he's busy being the Grandmaster.

The Lin Kuei did not celebrate birthdays

Watching the cryomancer from afar, (Y/n) sighed. The man was giving everyone the cold shoulder. If Bi-Han wished to stay alone for the day, they would respect his wishes. However, that didn’t mean they couldn’t make something for him. Determined, they left their spot. 

Late into the night, Bi-Han walked through empty halls, his footsteps echoing on the frozen stones. Once inside his room, the grandmaster frowned. Resting on his desk was a box. He could feel heat coming from the inside. Approaching the object carefully, Bi-Han opened it. Dumplings, somehow still warm, laid on a plate inside the box. A little card was placed on the side with two simple words on it.

Baking a cake was out of the question since the cryomancer despised sweets.

An idea eventually popped in their heads. Content with it, (Y/n) marched toward the kitchen. 

“Happy Birthday.”

Your Birthday.

Alone in his room, Bi-Han would eat his gift, the tiniest smile on his face.

If you think this man would act differently on your birthday, you’d be wrong.

You don’t see him for the entire day.

He’s busy being the grandmaster, he doesn’t have time for frivolous thing such as this.

Well his cold attitude is just a front.

Don’t get me wrong, Bi-Han still thinks celebrating birthdays to be beneath him but he can see how it affects your mood when he remains the only one not wishing you happy birthday.

Kuai Liang confronts him about it but Bi-Han keeps his facade up. 

Unknown to both you and his brother, he did have a gift for you.

“Open it.” Bi-Han cold voice was muffled by the mask he still wore.

Fresh out of the shower, (Y/n) laid peacefully on their bed, a book nestled in between their fingers.

Suddenly, someone knocked at their door, breaking their concentration. Opening the door, surprised flashed across their face as Bi-Han came to view. Worldessly, the grandmaster pushed something on their chest. Puzzled, (Y/n) glanced at the object now in their hand. It was wrapped clumsily with brownish paper. 

Not wanting to make the cryomancer wait, (Y/n) removed the wrapping to reveal a beautiful dagger. The silverish blade simmered under the light. The handle was a deep blue, almost the exact same shade as Bi-Han’s clothes. 

“I love it, thank you.” 

Humming, Bi-Han turned to leave. Peering over his shoulder, he wished them a happy birthday before walking away.

I will be doing that Kenshi character analysis when I have more free time (life's been hectic lately), but until then, please take my headcanons:

Kenshi chews hard candies. This is apparently a genetic trait since Takeda does the same thing.

Frost's real name is Morya (pronounced mori-ya) and she's Russian and Kazakh.

Her hair was also originally black but turned white with age. Which is a common thing for cryomancers, the fact that Kuai Liang has any black hair at his big age is nothing short of a miracle.

Sonya is a kleptomaniac and was a chronic shoplifter in her early teen years (a habit that took months to break). Nothing big just some snack food but she still finds herself pocketing things she's not supposed to.

Liu Kang's favorite song is One Week by Barenaked Ladies. If he's being honest, it kinda reminds him of his relationship with Kung Lao. (I have so many Liu Kang headcanons it's unreal but I'm going to limit myself to one for this ask)

This one's long:

Bi Han, before being kidnapped by the Lin Kuei, wanted to be an opera singer. He wasn't good at singing to start out, but one of his mom's friends worked at an opera house and was happy to give him free lessons. After being initiated into the Lin Kuei he was banned from indulging in hobbies as they were seen as meaningless. But he continued to practice if he had time on solo missions. He saw it as his own act of freedom/rebellion.

Then Hanzo tore his head off. As Noob he didn't even get to try, since the whole mind control business. Sometimes he'd find himself unconsciously falling back into old habits leading to people being unnerved when Noob fucking Saibot started hitting notes high enough to crack glass at them like some kind of horror movie.

Even after getting his humanity restored, his vocal cords were permanently damaged and pushing his voice too hard results in coughing fits, soreness, and losing his voice for days at a time. And when he does sing, it's strained and sometimes hurts. But if Bi Han's anything it's stubborn so he continues to "build up his tolerance" as he calls it.

The first time Sonya sees Kenshi chew a hard candy she walks straight into a wall in horror. Cassie does the same when she catches Takeda doing it.

The only people allowed to call Frost Morya are Kuai Liang and Cassie. Kuai Liang only ever does it when she's ill or injured and though she'll never admit it she finds it very comforting, and Cassie calls her that whenever she wants to kiss her really bad (bc Frost always kisses her when she does)

Kuai Liang still has black hair that oddly shows no sign of greying, but his eyes tend to flicker between their normal brown and a terrifyingly bright blue whenever he has a strong emotion, a trait also common in cryomancers.

Johnny is actually Sonya's biggest supporter in breaking her habit of nicking things and is the only person she's ever met that hasn't judged her for it, which she appreciates

Kung Lao's fav song is all star by smash mouth and he's the one who introduced Liu Kang to most of the music that Liu Kang knows (pls tell me your Liu Kang hc if you get the chance, I Beg)

Bi-Han used to sing lullabies to Kuai Liang and Tomáš in the Lin Kuei and Enenra can still be founding humming the tunes along to himself after a hard battle.

Noob got a bit of a reputation as a siren in the Netherrealm bc if you heard him singing it meant you were already dead.

After they resurrected Bi-Han and he began living at the Lin Kuei temple with Kuai Liang, Hanzo eventually came to apologize for killing him, it didn't go well but Hanzo is trying to atone and Bi-Han is struggling to stay angry about it (especially when Kuai Liang wants them to get along so bad)

Hanzo found out about the damage to his vocal chords and sought out an edenian tea said to be able to aid in the healing of such wounds, gifting it to the shadow wielder as part of his apology.

Bi-Han will never admit it but it actually works and being able to sing without pain again, even if only for as long as the tea is in effect, is the first thing to make him really feel human again

Thank you for sending me this ask. I won't lie, it was a difficult one to answer since Bi-Han is the only character I care about in the entire franchise. (Him being back as Sub-Zero was the only selling point of MK1 for me and his fate in the dlc is the reason why I stopped playing the game by now.) You could say, Bi-Han is MK to me.

I dislike most of the characters on the MK1 roster and I'm indifferent towards the rest of them, so I never bothered coming up with headcanons for any of them or trying to understand and analyse them on a deeper level. However, I still wanted to properly answer this ask, so here are some headcanons I came up with on the spot. I also posted a Kuai Liang headcanon a few days ago that you can read here if you want.

MK1 random headcanons:

Kitana and Mileena:

Being twin sisters, Kitana and Mileena used to often wear matching outfits when they were younger. They even wore the same hairstyle until Mileena entered her rebellious phase and shaved her hair. While Mileena's outfits became bolder, Kitana maintained a more conservative and traditional style. Sometimes it makes her sad that Mileena and her drifted apart so much, but she's still determined to support her sister wherever she can.

Li Mei:

Li Mei loves flowers, specifically lilies, but she has a soft spot for all kinds of plants. Her home in Sun Do is filled with potted plants in all shapes and sizes. Caring for them helps her unwind after a stressful day at work and she loves coming home to her own little garden too. She spends a lot of her free time there, tending to her plants or meditating.

Liu Kang:

Liu Kang is very lonely deep down. He misses his old friends, especially Kung Lao, and it pains him that he can no longer be a part of their lives in the same way he used to be before he became a god. Of course, he's happy to see his former companions thrive in the new era he created, but he can't deny that it hurts to no longer fit in. The people he once shared playful banter with look up to him for guidance now. He doesn't speak to anyone about his loneliness, only Geras knows since he became Liu Kang's best friend as well as his closest confidant over time.

Ashrah:

Ashrah adjusted to her new life as an Earthrealmer pretty quickly. She's grateful to have been offered a home and she's determined to prove worthy of it. She knows she still has much to learn, but she enjoys studying Earthrealm customs and traditions. She hopes that Earthrealm can become a home to Sareena as well, but she's also aware of how Sareena's nature as a demon still draws her to the Netherrealm. Her biggest fear is losing her last remaining sister to evil too. Despite her dedication to her search for absolution, Ashrah is unsure if she could ever bring herself to kill Sareena if it came down to it.

Sareena:

Sareena still hasn't fully forgiven Ashrah for the deaths of Kia and Jataaka. A part of her wishes the four of them were still together in the Netherrealm. She doesn't know if she will ever be able to call Earthrealm her home in the way Ashrah does and she's afraid of inevitably disappointing her sister by returning to her old ways.

Johnny:

Johnny still keeps a couple of handwritten letters to Cris that he never had the courage to send buried somewhere in one of his desk drawers. No matter how badly he misses her and how much he regrets that so much was left unsaid between them, for once in his life he doesn't want to be selfish, so he respects her decision to move on. It takes him a while to get over the divorce since he really loved Cris and although he continues to be his usual flirty and playful self, he's not sure if he's ready for a new relationship yet.

Tomas:

As a former hunter, there is a part of Tomas that enjoys the thrill of hunting and killing. To him, it's almost like a game, which is unusual for a Lin Kuei since they only fight for duty and to protect the realm. That side of Tomas is possibly owed to the Enenra and it's also the reason why Bi-Han is wary of him and doesn't consider him a true Lin Kuei.

Kenshi:

While he wouldn't necessarily call himself a sports fan, Kenshi has developed somewhat of a fondness for football since he became friends with Jax. Whenever Jax goes to watch a football game, Kenshi is happy to tag along. He enjoys the stadium atmosphere and finds it interesting to listen to his friend ramble about the teams and their strategies.

I hope you like these! I did my best, but you can tell I'm awful at writing anything non-Bi-Han related. Regardless, this was fun to write.

Has trouble with her hearing, so Shang made a device built especially for her.

Her outer garb can expand and helps her float when she swings from one place to other.

She uses her selendang (green wrap) to make herself as a human-size sling shot, pulling and throwing herself. Her yellow garb helps her floats while she's in the air.

Facial expression is so important for her, regarding her hearing, so seeing Shang Tsung always smiling and his dramatic ways of talking made her feel safe and amused around him.

Talking about facial expression, she DESPISES Bi-han. He never put a single ounce of effort when he talks.

She used to judge an individual's personality based on their facial expression when they talk. Despite the fact that Shang Tsung is not a very good person, he was a number one on her good people list.

She's a very kindhearted gal who only goal is to make everyone around her happy.

Shang Tsung was using her at first, but after seeing her dedication and her potential, and after discovering her disability, he took her in and made her his own adoptive-daughter body guard.

Her outfit is inspired heavily by Javanese traditional attire.

Backstory and Relationship with other characters under the cut

𓆩⚝𓆪 Ratri's Backstory 𓆩⚝𓆪

How she joined Shang Tsung, basically the Island where Shang found the abandoned island with powerful magic used to be Ratri's village. The village got destroyed because of the sudden burst of the magic energy. It poisoned the village's main water source, the animals, the plants, basically the whole ecosystem got fucked.

But Ratri here somehow survived, being creative and adventurous, she managed to found another source of water far away but was too late when she returned back to her village to spread the good news (the people ded). She, the protector of the village, failed her task.

When Shang Tsung came to the village, Ratri confronted him asking what was his purpose coming to the island. When Shang said he wanted to research the magic, Ratri misheard it as he wanted so Save the Village. At the end of his research, Ratri was devastated that Shang didn't cure the village. She confronted him again but now Shang Tsung realized there was something wrong with her hearing. So he built a device to help her with her hearing.

Not long, Bi-han came to get Shang Tsung to help him with his experiments and fighting the Shirai Ryu. Ratri now being loyal to Shang Tsung as he literally brought her in, took care of her, and helped her, won't leave him and made an oath to keep him save and protect him from everything that would disturb his safety. So with that, she joined Shang Tsung to the Lin Kuei base in Earthrealm.

She sees Shang Tsung as a kind man and a life safer. In her culture, yellow and green combo is a symbol of a person with good moral value and it was proven when she thought Shang was going to heal the island. Don't worry, she still sees him as a generous man when he made her a hearing device.

Calls him 'Atsung', she loves making nicknames and she feels it suits him.

Their relationship is like a father and daughter.

Believes everything Shang does as a good deed and for a greater good.

Loves to gossip together, especially about Bi-han and his former enemy, Liu Kang.

Absolutely HATES him since he always so stoic.

Watches him 24/7 hence he's so close with Shang Tsung and she knows he has an interest for Shang.

Tries to be nice and kind to him because Shang Tsung told her so. Bi-han is their ally and they're staying at his place, she should show a little bit of hospitality.

When Bi-han and Shang Tsung finally got together, she was so happy for Shang he finally found the one but also devastated because it means she has to protect Bi-han since he officially a part of Shang Tsung.

The Lin Kuei borthers were ROBBED in MK1 😭😭

As an audience, i HATE that Lin Kuei brothers are doomed by the narrative. I just want them to be a happy family, doing their stupid brothers bickering things, not trying to kill each other!

But then, as a writer... I appreciate the angst. Bi-han's character is so complicated, his upbringing, his personality make his betrayal almost justified and natural. I love tragedy of siblings ending up on opposite sides of a war and only thing i would change from canon plotline is to make Kuai the older brother bc imagine the angst if you think that Kuai used to protect his younger brother Bi-han from any harm but could not save him from the darkness that resides in his heart.

I'm very intrigued about how they gonna bring Noob Saibot in as well as Hanzo's rise as Scorpion (on the side now, wtf was ed boon's problem with making Hanzo literal child?? I will just ignore that canon) but yes, i want more of Lin Kuei brothers' drama and see more of Kuai and Smoke's bonding.

He most definitely meant brothers in arms. They wouldn't just go ahead and make these characters actual blood related siblings. For obvious reasons: 🇯🇵🇨🇳

Also, I watched and rewatched the new trailerS and a couple things got my attention!

In the first trailer, Liu Kang said: You can face each other like sworn enemies or united as brothers.

The bit "sworn enemies" that plays a big hint to their old dynamic. The Shirai Ryu and the Lin Kuei were beyond "bitter rivals" they were sworn enemies, with a historical and cultural war going on!

So it's very much clear the characters from different/opposite backgrounds, raised to hate each other, are still there.

Which makes this whole, actual siblings very unlikely. (Breathe people!)

Another important bit from the first trailer is Lui Kang explaining how, in his timeline, they all "chose peace"

So Kitana and Millena are together as sisters. And SubScorp is in some sort of peaceful pact (such as the previous games)

But now there's this trailer and we get to see more of Kitana and Millena's new dynamic and they are not fully at peace, Millena doesn't trust Kitana even Kitana saying she just wants to help!

For me, it felt like this timeline pushes enemies to seek a peaceful pact but that doesn't come with ease, they still have issues to overcome.

So SubScorp are two members of sworn enemy clans, they are bothers in arms, and they have to fight for each other as such, they have to leave hundreds of years of historical and cultural baggage behind and work together to help Lord Liu Kang.

They have to fight like brothers, even though they aren't, they must. That's how they keep peace in this timeline.

Another thing I found in the second trailer:

Noticed the different outfits? The first one brand new matching with Hanzo’s and the second one looking classic-like?

You can argue these are just different outfits, but I'm pretty sure Sub is the only one in the whole trailer who displays a different outfit, Hanzo himself never changes.

So I think you caught my drift already, right?

Kuai is baby, he knows from other lives how to form a bond with Hanzo, how to be his ally, how to stand by him and watch his back!

Bi-Han, on the other hand... what if Bi-Han is part of their challenge to keep the peace between their clans, what if, like Millena, Bi-Han is sceptical and distrustful? What if he puts their dynamic on the edge? What if he can't accept Hanzo as his brother(-in-law) in arms? And that's their personal struggle in this timeline they gotta solve?

I may not be happy with Mk1, but I was SO HAPPY to see Smoke again, MK9 gave me characters I got invested in and then, killed them off in the same game and I'm gonna be angry if NRS decides to fuck him over in MK1's timeline.

I don't know if I worded or expressed this part properly but I'm not a huge fan of how Smoke would get treated like a baby. Like, Tomas is a part of The Lin Kuei, an clan of assassins, who can also be sassy and has previously shown that he's willing to fight to the end, he's not a soft boy who always needs Kuai's protection.

And to this today, Smoke's MK9 design is will be my favorite design of his, I'm vibing with the idea that his flowy hair (Plus it was honestly nice to see him having some freewill a little more than just a chapter):

You're apart of the Lin Kuei, so he meets you when he's "adopted"

You still fight and all that jazz but you're also being trained in healing

He was adopted after his family was killed so um, yeah, he's a bit shook up and nervous

He doesn't know how he feels. He just stays in his room. He absolutely hates how everyone stares at him. He feels like he's being watched all the time

You're good friends with Bi-Han and Kuai Liang, so you're used to spending time with them at their place

I can see the first interaction being something simple. Like, his new dad (who is the Grandmaster of the clan that murdered his family) (I just CANNOT get over this shit) asks you to get him for dinner

You peek your head in his room to tell him dinner is ready. That's it. That's all.

He doesn't know who you are and honestly he has no intentions on finding out

But then over time he starts actually training, and that comes with injuries. He gets a real fucked up shoulder and is sent to your area

He's quiet the whole time for multiple reasons; he doesn't know you fr, he's still not sure about this clan, and he's watching you work your healer magic

You try to make smalltalk but he's kinda in and out of this world. Keeps zoning out. You can understand why though. Everyone knows what happened to his family

That's how your relationship is for awhile. He comes to get healed, then he leaves without really talking

Things change though when you're sent to get him for dinner again and you walk in on him crying

You're not an asshole, so you close the door behind you and sit by him

Neither of you talk. After some time you leave then come back with two plates of food

"I lied and said you were sick. Also asked if I could give you company" "Why'd you do that?" "I didn't want you to be alone in here" "Oh... thank you. Seriously" "It's all good man. You uh, wanna talk about something?

That's when the friendship truly starts. That act of kindness really sticks with him and now he truly thinks you're a good person to be around

He comes to you when he gets seriously fucked up in training or on actual missions. Sometimes he just chills out in your area and you two chat while you work on healing someone

I could see him take an interest in anatomy and shit after seeing what you do

I just see y'all vibing in your little healing hut a lot

I do think going on missions would be funny though-

"I gotta pop your shoulder back in place!" "You can't magically heal it?!" "Not this time!" "Hurry up then!" *pop* "DAMN!

I think it's just natural that he would be more ambitious than ever before.

The only constant about Bi-Han -- that any mk fan knows -- is his ruthless attitude toward his enemies, arrogant behavior and loyalty to the Lin Kuei. I don't think nrs writers went too far on him. I like leaks because he's not going to be a jobber like, unfortunately, Noob was in most of games.

Like, the guy is the best Lin Kuei in every timelines! Why was he so many times wasted like that?

I'm glad that he will be like an anti-hero. But I'm even more happy for Liu Kang's words and I'm expecting that this means they ain't gonna change him, just bring him smarter next game.

I think he's a neat dude! A man!! I started to like him in MK11 but MK1 made me RLLY respect him!! I think his design is sick af. I think he is a cool dude, he deserves sm after what happened to him and it's geniunely cool to see him be a leader and stand for his people. He's like a cool uncle to me. He is a character I would not salad spin or squeeze bc he's been through enough.

I was hype for him since his reveal!! I thought I'd be way more romantically into him but I'm honestly not romantically attracted to him that much which is why I marked the "not for me" tier. I think he's still SO dope. I think his designs is one of my faves probably. Strangely feels mischaracterized sometimes. My friend mains him so there's that. Again, I would affectionately squeeze/salad spin him. I hope he gets to be happy and not be bullied in the upcoming games LMAO.

LIU KANG

I love this man a LOT he was my 2nd fav in MK11, I felt bad for him in mk9-x, and 4th favorite in MK1. I think about him ironically the most?? While yes New Era is partially responsible I think about the whole being a god thing. I kinda project my feelings of how I would feel if I were a god and having my friends not recognize me and being alone blah blah blah onto him. I just think about a lot of angst for him. Also the way he just wanted a simple life with Kitana?? He HURTS me. That's also a lot of my headcanons and stuff. This proves that the story is written around the fights, not the other way around. And this chapter system still needs to go.

Bi-Han's face has me thinking that he's pissed that he (and Kuai and Tomas, I guess), who is Lin Kuei, who have been Earthrealm's protectors for centuries, are never chosen as champions, while two farm boys, a Yakuza, and an actor, all who know nothing about anything, are getting a shot. So I can see the frustration building already.

Why do I get the feeling Kung Lao won't see Bi-Han again?*

Also, is that dark-skinned Shaolin supposed to be Kai? I'd like that if that was true.

So that was story mode. Lots of stuff got rushed through, but it's not all bad. Baraka, Johnny, Kenshi, Liu Kang, Mileena, Raiden, Reptile, Scorpion, and Shang Tsung got all the best writing. Everyone else is either fine or isn't. The chapter system needs to go.

As a Lin Kuei fan, I am not a fan of the Lin Kuei subplot. It does what it's intended to do, but I personally do not like it.
