unfortunately if I want to independently develop a hypothesis about Rohan's economic/subsistence structure I really need to learn things like the requirements of taking care of horses in the winter and the growing seasons/growing lengths of crops like lettuce, radishes, carrots, and kale, and metalworking time and space commitments, and the types of houses that can be erected and torn down quickly, and the required land area of grazing per horse, and the social organization of Iron Age Eurasian horse cultures, and what other animals might naturally live on the Mark, and productivity and caloric value of mare's milk,

Some of my favorite spn episodes are were it's from someone else's prospective.

Like the ghost faces ep or s8 EP4 bitten with those nerdy camera kids!!!

Because not only is the editing fun, like it's some rando docu series from the 2000's made by kids in a basement (super underground, literally), but it is that! Like it's just a bunch of kids/young adults doing stuff and learning about the supernatural for the first time!!

So of course that's very interesting and new because when spn starts off Sam and Dean already know about the world, they grew up in it. Which is good because, well the narrative, but I love seeing fresh meat.

It's like all those other books and TV shows. The nativity of watching them try and figure out a crime? Amazing. 10/10.

But also it's the outside perspective on Sam and Dean that I love. Like duh these guys show up and are all tall and intimidating, weather they're pretending to be FBI agents or just fighting ghosts. Would you trust them?? No.

Like in the episode bitten where a guy gets, well yk, his GF and best friend gotta figure out what to do. The nerdy best friend wants to be all super powered up like the guy which is important for later, but not in the perspective of Sam and dean.

These collage kids, high, get a knock on the door from the FBI agents who were investigating the dead guy that popped up and asked if someone was bitten?? One weird question, two someone WAS bitten, and three the men walk off talking about killing a Mayan god. So obviously the kids keep it to themselves and investigate these 'cops'.

Find out they *aren't* cops and are instead some kinda hunters? Who are after the thing that turned the guy. So obviously they aren't gonna trust em??

Anyways I love those episodes, it's like watching a old YouTube video put online in 2010 by a couple of dweebs who somehow found some shit. Like it reminds me of the lame older brother in 90's movies.

okay sorry to be a faggot but! listener's culture around respecting the bodies of the dead and then some fanon interpretations of the significance of mandalorian armor and what "desecration" looks like to mandos and... there's something here i know it

like obviously they can't really "pass down" carapace in the way mandos can pass down armor, but both groups can be interpreted as/written as having a no-one-but-family deal

but then what happens with the naasade? does their armor just go to a local goran to be melted for foundlings? and the listener equivalent, when there is no next of kin?

Mandos have the Ka'ra and Manda and all that, and "stars-touched" can hear it like other Force-sensitives (and I'm writing literally an entire fic that is mostly just about different Force traditions so . I'll stop there) but the listeners become disillusioned with their own "ancient council of rulers"; somewhere I saw a post that talked about how listeners not disturbing the bodies of the dead was a remnant of the refusal of the old gods' body-takeovers

So! the two cultures reasons for not stripping/disturbing the bodies are super super different, one out of respect for the spiritual ancestors and one out of worry that those ancestors will come and terrorize them again--but the similarities!

Fun idea: What if Logan was lactose intolerant? Because actually most mammalian animals are, due to them not drinking milk except for the breast milk of their mother. And Wade doesn't know that so he wonders why Logan is spending so much time hunched over on the toilet, grabbing his stomach. Until Logan tells him he is lactose intolerant and his healing factor won't help since it's not an illness but something he was born with, but felt too embarrassed to tell him and he likes cheese so much because god forbid somebody ever finding out the greatest weakness of the Wolverine is fucking milk. So Wade takes it upon himself to buy Logan lactose free cheese and milk.

Here's how you stop Atlas from rebelling again while still punishing Kronos: make Kronos or one of his brothers like Crius, Coius or Hyperion hold up the sky. I know Kronos is already cut into a million pieces, but I'm sure there's ways to get around that. Either way, I think Atlas would easily become a turncoat if you promised him freedom from his eternal punishment. Everyone besides Kronos's brothers like Hyperion and Crius could probably be negotiated with. At least I think Atlas and (maybe) Prometheus could be negotiated with in this manner. Because I'd gladly turn traitor if it meant freedom from pain.
