judging earthspark s3
contains spoilers!!!
(my own opinion + not that serious :))
not in order bc i sketch-wrote these down while watching first but guys im so im so .head in hands
-15 pts for the character development, relationships, ideas, etc set up in s1 that were thrown out in s2 and s3. war trauma, immigrant experience, ghost aftermath, individuality, healing process, autobot guilt, byebye. so much character assassination still happening
+1 for following through i guess
+1 shockwave 'all are dead' comic cover reference and having him react to it
+5 every appearance of frenzy and laserbeak. theyre professional hecklers i love them
-1 bc of how the art direction was already established having 2d handdrawn effects but obv their animation has been toned down, there are quite a few instances of 3d smoke made to look like 2d shading which is not necessarily bad on its own but doesnt feel like it fits here
+1 rage virus had nice potential for bringing simmering resentments to surface,, wish the show delved deeper into the characters thoughts + fallout
-1 megatron's va sounds like he was given direction to hold back somehow on his delivery ?? idk it just feels like forced gentleness compared to earlier performance like his lines don't fit him
-2 animation lacking feeling of weight, movements are stiff, unnatural esp for huge guys made of metal. how in the world did twitch push megatron over
-2 fight choreo is more generic and plain,, characters tend to fight in similar ways when they wouldnt, considering different sizes, abilities, personalities etc,, everyone is just tossing each other around
-2 teasing us with breakbee and then actually setting it on fire and then killing bumblebee's personality too and while we're here thrash and mo as well
+1 escape room ep overall was kinda fun. i like the idea of leaning into twitchs big sister role but like u dont have to water down the others when highlighting one character?? the maltos are kids, but theyre not like.stupid
+1 optimus pushing megatron down to protect him and megs glancing down where optimus' hand is on him. someone in story room is pushing megop
+1 prowl being a skilled Hater on entrance
+1 "organics" (derogatory)
-1 optimus tells prowl that the war is over in defence of megatron but literally theyre fighting decepticons again two seconds later so make up your mind earthspark
-5 what are the autobots and decepticons even fighting for at this point? let's shoot them into space so we don't have to worry about that conflict anymore except megatron but he's our friend so don't think about that trust us this is earthspark our show was formed on the basis of being the aftermath of the war hasbro im going to kill you
+1 constructicon mention
+3 prowl being huggable and pickuppable (+1 optimus, +1 elita, +1 arcee)
+1 "terran thrash" "terran nightshade" "stygi-terran" "clan malto" can't tell me thats not objectively cute
+5 blaster feature
+2 megop being deeply embarrassing about robby's weird girlfriend
+5 dramatic megop fight. intense music, personal arguments, falling through the ice sinking to the bottom of the lake together, if i'm going down you're coming with me etc i love it
-1 grimmy not having a single speaking line?? am i tripping
+1 thrash throwing the hat perfectly onto prowls antler tip
-2 duller lighting and colours overall </3 my guy was seriously looking grey in ep 6..,.
+1 "romantic entanglements have hobbled many a soldier. ask optimus." thank u es writers
+1 "there are no implications. there are only facts." banger
+1 multiple pronouns used for the shapeshifting quintesson i just thought it was fun
-1 thrash's character being largely reduced to That One Kid
-1 might just be me but the whole plot with the fake girlfriend was just weird as hell ?? what purpose does it have in robby's character development,,,
-1 dot and alex being less compelling as caring responsible parents. like they're still nice,, but the way they've been written just feels less careful
-1 that movie and confession scene sorry i know it was on purpose but i could not handle the secondhand embarrassment
+1 mole-bots tbh i thought they were going to pull scraplets but they were fun
-4 starscream neglect. where is the justice. nothing but a silhouette all season and then finally all he does is go crazy and get pulled back to jail??wtf
+1 quintesson ship entrance
-1 generic character body language/performance
+1 weird al yankovic going so hard
+1 saving civilians
-2 quintus powers being suddenly able to save the day when they need it because plot
-2 how the chaos terrans are not written
-1 environments are sometimes not that fitting for the action taking place there?? like for the final fight i know theyd need a lot of space for the titan but seriously just a green grassy field and blue sky come on?? give us some artistry,..,.
-1 slightly weird voice effects for quintesson characters but that might just be me
+1 sharkticon pit plucked right out of g1 movie i love it
+1 mo being so polite "mr optimus" "ms elita" "mr prowl sir" sweetheart
+5 what the fuck do you mean "i appreciate you, megatron"
+1 hard confirmation prowl is a hugger
+1 epic titan fusion
+1 prowl being nice. dialogue with bee in that scene felt kind of in your face but it was cute
-1 arresting starscream. girlie was probably starving in there
+1 "little bird"
+1 i'm just happy to have an animated prowl having so much relevance to the main story again.tfa prowl i miss u every day
-2 tarantulas never being seen nor heard from ever again. he had an awesome design, fantastic voice acting, super well written just for hasbro to be cowards
-1 again for just dropping pretty big story points from season 1 for unclear reasons. like i said,, current state of earthspark works fine as a kid's show alone but after how mature and well-handled season 1 was it feels like watching the tv spinoff series to the actual thing. sorry but like zero integrity to the shows basis and values and what the original writing had set up for the world and the characters

you know what hate crimes md enjoyers, idk if this has been done before but i wanna start like a little tag game: i wanna know your favorite seasons in order, what you think is the best episode each season, your personal favorite ep from each season, any honorable mentions if you have them, and your least favorite/worst episode in your opinion. i'd also like to have you sort the main characters/fellows from favorite to least favorite, plus tell me your favorite ship (and optionally, a ship you enjoy and think is underrated)! feel free to toss in any explanations for why you chose what you did. (: kinda long, but oh well – feel like it'll be fun.
i'll go first (so you can see the format) – listing seasons from the best imo, to the worst, and the episodes.
Seasons:
1. Season 3
Best episode: one day, one room (?)
Favorite episode: merry little christmas
Honorable mention(s): cane and able, words and deeds, family, needle in a haystack
Least favorite episode: que sera sera (?)
it was hard to pick the best bc i'm biased towards merry little christmas, but i don't know if it would be the best of the season exactly. as for que sera sera, nothing really wrong with it but honestly i had a hard time picking a least favorite too. great season – to me it's like the classic house season.
2. Season 5
Best: birthmarks
Favorite: under my skin
Honorable mention(s): the softer side, last resort, both sides now, painless
Least favorite: big baby (?)
i literally just barely remember big baby compared to the rest, i think, no matter how many times i see it. amazing season though, honestly so up there with s3 for me that it became a tough choice.
3. Season 6
Best: help me
Favorite: wilson
HM(s): the down low, broken (part 1 & 2), baggage, lockdown
Least favorite: epic fail, remorse (?)
help me is such an amazing episode, it always makes me cry. epic fail is extremely annoying tho and idk why, like after i watched it more than once or twice i started having a hard time rewatching it. and honestly every time i watch remorse i get pissed off on thirteen's behalf and it's just not a fun feeling. not a bad episode though. i know a lot of people don't like s6 but i love it.
4. Season 2
Best: euphoria (part 1 & 2)
Favorite: no reason
HM(s): skin deep, distractions, hunting, clueless
Least favorite: sleeping dogs lie
i recently rewatched euphoria and it's so fucking good i legitimately cried. sleeping dogs lie isn't a bad episode, it just is frustrating to watch for many reasons. another classic house season.
5. Season 4
Best: house's head/wilson's heart
Favorite: house's head/wilson's heart, 97 seconds
HM(s): mirror mirror, you don't want to know, frozen, living the dream
Least favorite: the right stuff
nothing really wrong with the least favorite – it was honestly a tough choice. also i couldn't pick a favorite, it was so tough. i honestly really like this season despite how short and different it is.
6. Season 1
Best: detox
Favorite: detox
HM(s): three stories, histories, control, mob rules
Least favorite: heavy, everybody lies (pilot)
the pilot being orange just makes me laugh the whole time so it's hard to watch, and chase's insane fatphobia in heavy is just disturbing, which is the only reason it's a least favorite. for the best i was torn between three stories and detox, but i think detox is better. s1 is ranked so low bc of general weirdness.
7. Season 8
Best: the c-word, everybody dies
Favorite: the c-word
HM(s): dead & buried, twenty vicodin, nobody's fault, post mortem
Least favorite: we need the eggs
we need the eggs isn't bad, the case is just ??? weird and kinda sad tbh idk. i haven't rewatched the c-word yet but i remember it fondly, so i couldn't really choose a best episode. is picking the finale kinda dumb? maybe, idk. i like a lot of episodes from season 8 surprisingly, like most of them, but it's so different from the previous seasons with cuddy absent and the late addition of two new main characters that it can't be any higher for me.
8. Season 7
Best: after hours
Favorite: after hours, out of the chute
HM(s): unwritten, bombshells, the dig, moving on, fall from grace
Least Favorite: two stories
god i really can't stand rewatching two stories. idk what it is but the fucking kids that house gets stuck with in the principal's office are so annoying ??? probably my least fave episode in all of house. but despite how s7 is at the bottom, it did have some great episodes. just wasn't my favorite season at all, especially as someone who isn't really into huddy.
Characters:
from favorite to least favorite of the main characters –
1. House (of course)
2. Wilson
3. Thirteen
4. Cuddy
5. Chase
6. Foreman
7. Kutner
8. Cameron
9. Amber
10. Taub
11. Park
12. Adams
13. Masters
favorite ship: hilson (house / wilson)
underrated ship: thirteen / cameron, or chase / foreman
Tags:
anybody that wants to participate! i know it's kind of long so no sweat if you don't want to do it. i'm also indecisive so i had trouble picking episodes lmao

Ranking the DCLA WLW ships
Many people prefer canon, and I get that. But there's one thing that non-canon ships give me and that is the comfort that they are exactly what they are. Especially the WLW ships. I never assume they will be canon, but I can love them all I want either way <3
I will not take every single dcla wlw ship, cause with all the girl characters there's so many combinations you can do. I will only take the ones I've seen, or recognized myself.
1. Franletta
Obviously. How can I not? I've not been crowned the biggest Franletta shipper in the fandom for nothing! They give me the softness no one else does. The way they always depend on each other, the way they care for each other SO MUCH <33 GAH they're adorable
2. Jam
I'm taking my two biggest from each show here. When I started watching SL, everyone expected me to just like the three biggest ships. NO ONE told me about Jim and Yam. HOW COULD YOU NOT tell me about Jim and Yam?! Smh you're sleeping on them (/hj, /lh)
But yeah, I think a part of what drove me with loving them so much was that no one else talked about them. Yes, people agreed they were girlfriends, but no one was as vocal. I am currently also the only one who even has written fics with them tagged romantically - something I did after I discovered after finishing season 1, I was really surprised how no one had written about them? So I took it in my own hands and wrote some.
Jam are my little chaos children, they're jin and yang and they're everything to me.
3. Luty
The year was 2021 and I had been starting to rewatch Violetta after getting D+. With my newly love for Franletta, I also thought about the others. I thought to myself "Hey! Maybe Naty stays with Ludmila, not because she's afraid to say no, but because she actually likes her? Maybe she even has a crush on her?"
Cut to when I rewatched S3, which had not been out until april of 2021 in the Nordic countries. I just. Fell for them. OH how I fell for them.
They make me insane honestly.
4. Natila
In season 3, something I really noticed was that the REAL love triangle was between Naty, Camila and Ludmila. And Naty and Camila DATED. They DATED in s3. OH MY GOD HOW THEY DATED. THEY FUCKING KISSED OFF SCREEN!!!!!!!!!! LIKE I AM STILL MIND BLOWN OVER THAT. WHEN I SAW IT I JUST WENT INSANE.
5. Ambilia
THE GOTH GIRLFRIENDS honestly they're everything. They're insane. It's them against the world. They'll go from the ashes and into the fire. They're a power couple.
6. Lumbar
"But but but but-" I hear you go. Yes, yes, yes, I know. These two gave a fucking crisis in s3. But I fell for them SO HARD in season 1 it was a wound that never got away. Season 1 FED me with them, S2 also fed me a lot, and then in season 3 I just went around with a "🥲". At least, they ended up being very close in one way <3
7. Cadmila
Love the enemies to lovers. I don't feel as strongly about them as the other two in the "unholy trinity", I sometimes feel like Cadmila is the female version of Dieleon (but not with everything). But it's also how Ludmila just plays with Cami's hair, always sits close to her and how Camila is like "get tf away from me" but highkey interested in what Ludmila is doing.
8. Mora/Ana
They moved in together?? This was a whole storyline and tbh I am fully convinced the writers actually wanted them to be a couple, it's not just my imagination.
9. Jadangie
Alright, you made me fall for them! Thanks, tumblr! <3 They're very cute.
10. Jackie/Angie
They would never date in canon but GOD are they exes. They're bickering exes, look at them. First episode of s2, you can't deny they've met before and something went down and now they pretend they don't know each other. The ANGST.
11. Celeste/Trish
When watching Bia, I was like "I really feel a straight vibe from every character" and all of you, and I mean ALL OF YOU, went "But what about Celeste?". I was confused because I was at the ep where Celeste told her therapist that she had a crush on a boy so I was like ???????????????????
But then the SECOND I saw s2, I had a 180 spin and went "OH OK SHE'S A LESBIAN" and her obsession with Trish was really like. !!!!!!! WOW. And when she met Trish irl and just scratched her neck I just. Yeah. Yeah I got it.
12. Lunina
Ok, I really do like them as just friends, but if they were more I also wouldn't complain. I just like to joke a little about them, but I am not as serious about it as I am with ships above on the list.
13. Jazmin/Delfi
Every now and then I think to myself "they should kiss" lmao.
14. Francesca/Ana
Most random thing. I got this because I felt like Ana legit tried to seduce Fran for a while. Like that Ser Mejor duet????? What
15. Violetta/Lara
I don't think they have a lot of chemistry, but I get it. Also Violetta totally got a bi awakening from seeing Lara sing like I-
16. Ludletta
I really get it. I really get after I myself fell for Lumbar. Like, you have 2 seasons of freedom. It's hard to just... stop?? After that? Also Si es por amor is the gayest music video in Violetta, it's just how it is. But I've personally never shipped them. I love their canon relationship.
I do get where you're coming from, though.
17. Jim/Luna
This is the one wlw ship where I don't really get it. But I've seen it around. And during my SL rewatch I've tried to see it, but I don't see much. I think it's whenever they're alone together they sort of have a matching vibe and that's what appeals to people? I don't know.
I know for a fact I've probably forgot someone, but that's how it always is. I actually almost forgot some here and had to re-rank my list. There's still plenty of wlw ships <3

Lucifer 5B: Cutting off Touch to Spite Your Fans
Spoiler warning: This post assumes you've watched all of Lucifer, season 5, part B.
CW: There's plenty I like about season 5, but this is a negative post. I know not everyone is up for negativity about the things they love. I also generally avoid it and (try to) keep my mouth shut about things I don’t like in most spaces. It’s good etiquette. But this is my space, and I have thoughts specifically about purity culture and the treatment of sexuality and trauma in fiction. You’ve been warned!
---
I'm a professional writer (not in TV). I've worked with enough bad clients, editors, and other writers to recognize some hallmark behaviors in how both Fox and Netflix gave Lucifer's writers incredibly difficult, unfair, and frankly weird situations to create through.
Fox did them dirty, interfering and ordering too many eps in S3. Netflix did them dirty, ordering 10 eps for S4 when it clearly needed ~13. Then Netflix ordered 10 "final" eps for S5—then, just kidding(!), 6 more after they'd done their writing for the 10. (What the fuck?) And then Netflix ordered 10 more for a "final-final" S6 after the writers had done their best to tell their whole story in S5. (MORE what the fuck.)
Talk about whiplash for creators, and half of those who consume content don't even care to understand such creative pain.
So, there are problems on multiple fronts. There's much I'll forgive writers, accordingly. I go into most shows expecting plotting/pacing issues. I look, instead, for characters and relationships that will triumph over those issues.
Heart is what the show Lucifer has always had in spades, both in its characters and in the immensely committed, wonderful ways the actors have tried to realize the characters' humor, love, trauma, and—most importantly—struggle to find healing. Yet, when given the opportunity to show health alongside another in a relationship, the writers/directors of 5B chose to remove most sexual humor and physical intimacy from their female lead and bi/pan characters to, I feel, sanitize them and troll fans. What happened?
Well, for one, say hi to showrunner Joe Henderson bragging about how the writers decided to be colossal dicks to the fans who helped secure their jobs:
Tumblr media
From CBR's 'Lucifer Showrunner Joe Henderson Dissects Season 5B's Chaos'
Have we not suffered sidelined/repressed female characters, "bury your gays," and, oh, Chloe fucking a serial killer enough? Must we also say hello to neutered relationships once characters find stable love (whether same or opposite sex)? The result of withdrawing more sexual humor and physical intimacy from paired characters is an uncomfortable suggestion that they're reformed by "pure" love—more chaste and aloof, more acceptable in polite society. This is only done to end-game committed relationships.*
The writers seem to think they're edging the viewers, but the reality is they're taking traumatized minority characters who rejoiced in sexual freedom, but lacked and craved an emotional connection, and showing they can't have both, or, if they find both, it will never last. They've taken hypersexual characters and said, here, even they can have the love and commitment they desire, but some physical intimacy, especially sexual intimacy, is what they must trade for it.
There's always one more case, phone call, or coincidence interrupting intimacy. Traumas or deaths deserving emotional and physical comfort go on to receive none or only one aspect. Done sometimes, it's fine. Done always, it's sick. Dan dies, and there's no hugging? Really?†
Don't craft characters who crave a full range of emotional and physical intimacy, only to rob them of related scenes every chance you get. That's not complexity. That's bad writing. To even achieve this in 5B, they must squash banter and sideline their female lead yet again.
What a gift to purity culture, which tells us to be more palatable by bottling and buttoning up. That sex should be taboo, but violence glorified. That there is no heated desire among "Good Women," that sexual minorities of all genders shouldn't experience it much at all.
5A is so good. At the very least, it's on the right path (clearly, since the plot payoff from 5x01 to 5x16 is great). It shows a couple working through difficulties and trauma, toward each other emotionally and physically. It even pokes fun at people who think an established relationship means the death of romantic and sexual appeal (a tired and hugely sexist trope). And then... And then 5B reverses that, pretending established relationships are barely physical during emotional struggle and that the honeymoon phase doesn't exist. It robs characters of joy and comfort through physical intimacy when they need it to move through or push beyond trauma.
It's telling that so many fan wishes for Deckerstar are about healing touch and existing in each other's spaces: amending Chloe's spicy PDA history with Cain, Chloe caring for Lucifer's wings, soft family scenes a la Monopoly night and shared meals, morning-afters, etc. Reasonable fans aren't asking for porn; they're asking for connection and humanity. They're asking for writers not to forget characters (and, yes, including hypersexual characters) on their way from Point A to Point B.
That 5B lacks these things isn't a "tee-hee frustrating" slow burn or a cockblock. It is, in so many scenes, excising from characters a core part of what nearly every human and fictional monster craves. And it's a slap in the face to the "found family" trope. When you remove or tamp down a casual physical intimacy that was previously there, characters and their relationships fall flat, even if only partially. They become blunt weapons creators wield against watchers or readers begging for scraps of warmth.
Minorities shouldn't be killed off with ease, and they shouldn't be stifled with ease, either.‡ And maybe there shouldn't be deep trauma driving a wedge in a romantic relationship if you're not going to explore it through that relationship, too—physical intimacy included.
I'm still reserving some judgment. I loved the family drama and the end. (Although, again, where was the physical intimacy? No intimacy when Chloe or Lucifer return from the dead? Really?) I see where they could do awesome things, and could have done more if not for network BS.
But I no longer trust Lucifer's writers and directors. They thought S5 was the end. And what they gave us of Deckerstar, of the relationship that symbolizes health and healing in their fictional world, is this: cold distance. And they got a kick out of doing it, apparently.
If this is a "love letter" to me as a fan, I'm burning it. I can only hope S6 course corrects. If not, the writers who made these choices shouldn't write sexual minority and/or traumatized characters again. If you don't understand most of us, you should stop fucking using us.
---
* If you don't believe me about the differences between casual/short-term relationships and end-game relationships in Lucifer, go back and look at how Lucifer and Maze are with strangers in all the other seasons. Look at Chloe's sex dream, her propositioning of Lucifer in a library, her sex with Pierce in the evidence closet. Look at how much physical intimacy there is between Lucifer and Eve, and then between Eve and Maze (if only as a ploy). Across seasons, there are sex/kink jokes and scenes galore.
Compare this to how these same characters are portrayed when with their end-game loves. Notice the gentle pecks on the lips and the huge general drop in sexual humor between 5A and 5B. How boring. Where's the spice these characters had? Also, give me a damn break. Buttoning up in a relationship is contrary to four and a half seasons of emotional character work that's been communicating security in our relationships is personally freeing.
† I'm not just talking about sexual intimacy in this post, though that is a big part of it because of the characters. 5B lacked crucial found family scenes, too.
Chloe should have been at God's family dinner, but being so would have prevented more ham-fisted angst. Chloe never even has a one-on-one with God, probably because that would demand a straight answer about her miracle status, which I would guess will be used to drive yet another wedge between her and Lucifer next season, but we'll see.
In multiple before- and after-work scenes, there was no reason for Lucifer and Chloe to be apart more, even, than they were in S1 and S2. Monopoly night was in S3, for crying out loud. Most horrifying of all? No one touches Chloe after Dan's death, but Trixie. Meanwhile, Linda, Amenadiel, Ella, Maze, and Lucifer all receive physical comfort. No wonder Chloe's tired of being strong.
‡ If you don't think it's offensive that they stuffed all their wlw content for two hypersexual characters into a few clunky, irrational, and chaste scenes that rushed I love yous, a marriage-like proposal, and the mention of soulmates, I don't know what to tell you other than get off my lawn.

what’s your favourite klaine moments from each season?
Oooh that's a good question! Thank you! ♡♡
Season 2 - It's such stiff competition bc nearly every single scene of theirs in this season is golden. But I'm gonna go wiiith... their first meeting! I think it's just so crazy to see how, even tho they just met, there's an instant connection. Blaine's face just lights up when he first lays eyes on Kurt. And he's intuitive enough to see right away that something is wrong, and gets his friends to leave so he and Kurt can talk more privately. And Kurt instantly feels comfortable enough to open up about his problems, and Blaine empathizes with him, and does his best to help Kurt. And then later goes to help him confront his bully, even tho I guess that's a different scene. But that whole ep for them is *chef's kiss*
Season 3 - Ugh I still mostly like the Klaine stuff this season but idk. It's part of s3 so it still manages to feel wrong lol. But my favorite would have to be when Kurt congratulates Blaine on getting the part of Tony. He surprises him with flowers, and gives him lots of encouragement and talks about how perfect for the part he is. It shows that even tho Kurt is torn, bc of course he also wanted the part, he's mature enough to not dwell on his loss so much that he can't celebrate Blaine's win. And then Blaine has the adorable line about "you always zig when I think you're about to zag" it's just so sweet and it makes me smile
Season 4 - There's some gems this season but I'll say the phone call in Thanksgiving. It shows that even when things are rough between them, and even when they aren't a romantic couple, they're still close. They're best friends! And Blaine is just so relieved to hear from Kurt. And he tells Kurt he loves him and you think Kurt is gonna be like "I know" but he says he loves him too! It's so great and it's the first step towards their healing and getting back together so it's very important
Season 5 - I know it's redundant bc I think all Klaine scenes are good Klaine scenes but! This season has some great Klaine scenes! I really adore their heart to heart in Tested bc Blaine finally gets to voice his insecurities and Kurt comforts him and reassures him he's always going to love him. But he also has that great line about not being a delicate little flower that needs his boyfriend's protection. I love that. It's an emotional and sometimes difficult scene but it needed to happen so I'm grateful for it
Season 6 - I've said it before but I LOVE the scene in the elevator when they're playing that game. Bc it was all improvised by Darren and Chris and I think that's amazing! Because it's so little but it tells us so much. For Klaine, it tells us that they're still best friends even after more hardships, that they just get one another in ways no one else will, that they have so many little shared personal moments and inside jokes and all kinds of great tidbits like that. And for the actors, it shows us how well they understand their characters, and how much they understand and respect the relationship of Kurt and Blaine. And - contrary to some belief - it shows that they really are friends and have fun working with one another! And that friendship off screen really helped with the romantic relationship on screen and that just means so much to me! A lot of tv couples don't have that added layer of a real life connection, so I'm glad Klaine have that, and that Chris and Darren always treated the relationship with so much love and care and respect. It's what makes Klaine the best!

I just hope Tim follows the tradition of having a Rina fight scene on episode 5 of every season and a big rina moment on episode 6 of every season. He needs to end 3A in a big Rina moment (and I think he knows this too). Maybe that being Rina in present of vía a flashback (but that would be too 2A finale for me).
As far as other theories go, I kinda want to see a fallout between Gina and Ashlyn (that will hopefully help their friendship grow) and S3 gives them the material for it throughout EJ. Ashlyn is protective of EJ and she could potentially side with him in case there’s trouble in paradise, and I think the introduction of Maddox could make Gina confide more about her doubts in the relationship with her than Ashlyn, causing trouble in their friendship. That could be a really nice story line that would make me root for their friendship a bit more because I don’t really believe their friendship. I think Ashlyn doesn’t really see or understand Gina as a person and the fact Ricky continued being the person she gravitated towards about her mom kind of tells me they aren’t as close. As well as Gina kind of just telling Carlos she was unhappy with the role and living with Ashlyn.
And I think someone told you already but without Red in the picture it opens the door for a friendship between Ricky and Jet. I think Ricky needs another friendship too and this could be a really cool one to see. It could help him get to a new perspective and who knows, maybe Jaddox will help Rina in the meantime?
Yes the rina pattern would be nice cause rn it's just a coincidence that that's how the rina eps have worked out. Twice it's a coincidence, 3 times it's on purpose, which I wold love.
Honestly we just need to see the characters interacting with e/o more cause as much as we saw them interacting w/ e/o last season... I feel like nothing really happened. Idk how to explain it, but yeah.
The new characters are still what I'm most excited for. Actively pushing the ginamaddox besties & jetricky besties agendas. Plus it's fun to think about Jetdox & how it could exist to push the rina agenda

I really tried to enjoy the season and look at the bright side of things because this its almost the end, right? i should enjoy it a last time before its over. i still feel really bitter and upset most of the times tho. this is not what i pictured as the final season at all. i'm just sad.
Hello! Sorry for the late reply!! I'm so sorry you feel this way :( Hahah, you know, since S5 my emotions have been as stable as a glass of water in a roller coaster, so I feel you!! There are days where I try to look at the bright day of things and I realize that:
We had lots of beautiful clips with Sobbe in wtFOCKDOWN. All this content was bizarre and funny in a really really good way no other Evak remake had.
With all his lockdown walks and video calls, his S4/S5 clips and his pictures, Sander now has a lot more of screen time/photos than the original Even and maybe even more than other Evens. We're very lucky just for this.
Seeing the way they basically ruined the girl squad's friendship and Zoë, Amber and Luca characters beyond recognition or fixing, I'm just glad Robbe and Sander characters are still awesome, engaging and authentic as ever. They're flawed ofc, but it's still them not some strangers.
Sobbe is one of the most stable, solid relationships in the whole SKAM universe along with Davenzi and Evak, so that's a BIG win because we know wtFOCK takes the drama to a whole new level. We basically dodged a bullet 💀!
But there are other days when I think that:
I really wanted to see more sides of Sander. I was so curious to learn more about his past, his friends and the way he interacts with other people besides Robbe. There's a lot of mysteries around him that we're never going to unveil.
It's been a whole year since wtFOCKDOWN so all our knowledge about Robbe (and most of characters) is pretty much outdated despite the fact the series is still ongoing. What are his plans for the future? Is filming a hobby or something serious? How's it going with his family? His relationship with Sander? Do they have plans together or are they just living minute by minute?
Robbe's one of the most featured characters all the way thru S1-wtFOCKDOWN, and at some degree S4. In the final season he's only been featured twice, so I would expect that after three years we can have a good, satisfying closure to his high school journey.
I really wanted to see Robbe and Yasmina make a really beautiful bond. They had a really good chemistry and both have similar personalities. I really liked what they did with Sana and Martino in SKAM Italy and I wanted to see something similar in wtFOCK.
Since dic 2019 and until april 2021 I had pretty solid, safe expectations about the scenes I was going to see with Sobbe in Yasmina's season. Evak had them, Niccotino had them, Elu had them, Crisana had them... so it's natural we also anticipated Sobbe's scenes, right? That's a whole year and a half of waiting and feeling excited... for nothing!! I thought only Davenzi would be the unlucky couple (kind of, because they had a few nice scenes anyway), but now we're in the same unlucky team (so far) hahah. Some days I'm good, but some other days I still feel upset whenever I think about this. It's hard to let go after so long.
The season/series is nearing its end (we only have left three eps with plotline) so I've also been thinking a lot about the way I experienced the 6 episodes of the season. I really tried to enjoy it like you, and I somewhat enjoyed it thanks to the amazing Yasmina/Younes chemistry, but it's true I felt really upset/disappointed most of the time. Since it's the final season, I felt guilty but I also reminded myself that I have very valid, solid reasons to be upset.
A lot of people all the way thru the season tried to guilt-trip other fans for being negative, looked down at them for wishing Sobbe scenes in a Sana season or called them dramatic/ridiculous because we weren't seeing any signs of the Sobbe subplot (that in the end didn't even happen) 🤣 But we actually had every right to feel upset from the start because the signs were always there, signs that this would be another S4 2.0 (in terms of pacing, characterization, etc. I know Yasmina's journey can't be compared to Kato's... whatever she experienced.)
There's nothing that can be done now tho, and it's time we to give more weight to all the positive reasons why Sobbe's absence in S5 is good. And I'm now preparing to move on from this mess and keep treasuring the wtFOCK pre-S4 that I still love. Thankfully I didn't listen to haters/trolls telling me to shut up, so I was able to vent and express my anger, say everything I wanted to say and talk with a lot of people even if unfortunately I wasn't able to answer every single ask (I'm so sorry about this btw 🥺). I'll finish the season without regrets!!! I experienced it in a very honest way and I didn't force me do to anything, you know? I didn't force me to be positive because in the end I knew that my positivity would make feel more frustrated since I would know it wasn't genuine. I also noticed and appreciated a lot of things in previous seasons I wasn't actually appreciating, so it was good evenif it was bad haha 🙂I think i love S3 and wtFOCKDOWN more than ever and I'm just really happy. I hope you can be happy again or at least feel calm soon too.

I have loved Star trek ever since I was like 7 years old. If you need proof that I'm a "Classic" fan:
seen every episode of TOS, TAS, and TNG
seen every ep of DS9 up to s5 [life stuff :(]
seen swaths of Voyager and Enterprise,
watched Star Trek 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 [that I remember] and all three AOS films [My favourite is seven. I am taking no criticism at this point]
read some novels, have read a handful of the comics
seen every episode of Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, and Prodigy
My favourite TOS episodes are Dagger of the Mind, the Omega Glory, and For the World is Hollow [...]. Do not @ me on this one, I am correct.
IMO Star Trek Discovery Season 2 is absolutely worth sitting through Season 1.
Yeah, it's a little rough around the edges but if you try telling me that TNG season 1 wasn't at all rough around the edges; I will quite literally laugh in your face.
Season 1 is... rough to sit through, especially if you don't really like the main protagonist character all that much. Tilly and Saru usually grow on you fastest of all the characters, at least they did for me and all the people I know. But Gabriel is fun and while the writing trips on its own ambitions at times, it's still okay. The ending is straight up Monty Python but it DOES set you up for S2 which is where THE GOODS are at.
Season 2, in terms of dialogue, 100% better writing. In narrative/framing/thematic terms... EHHHHHHHHHH??? Discovery does better when the stakes are low and super duper personal... and the stakes are like... very cosmically high in S2, so touch and go, depending on how you feel about Power Creep.
Season 3 IMO is where Discovery really comes into its own, everything feels so much smaller but the world has opened up around you. Michael grows SIGNIFICANTLY as a character and is about 75% more likeable when Book is around to balance her out, and when she is actively being called out by people who know her well enough to do so, about her bullshittery. That willful active optimism that is characteristic of star trek overall is VERY present here, and frankly, you can inject Discovery S3 straight into my veins, I am not joking. For the detractors of "nyeh not TREK enough because WOKE and NEW", season 3 is the most 'Star Trek' live action trek in like... a long time. I'm not counting Lower Decks because we all know that is pure unbridled trekkie energy, but nobody is ready for that conversation yet.
Season 4 of DISC... Again, dialogue writing is top tier shit, but the story??... I didn't vibe with the narrative this time, I was really more intent on rooting for the space gays, but uh... It's aight. Probably significantly better to binge-watch than watch upon release like I did...
ANYWAYS. Hope this helps a little bit. I'd recommend Season 1 to understand Season 2, but if you didn't watch Season 3 after 2, you'd be shooting yourself in the metaphorical foot because Season 3 is the best Discovery has gotten, period IMO.
TL;DR: Resounding YES.
