Kazuma often takes care of Veena (in my head) and often will do things more out of his own accord for her than even her asking him directly. He takes great pride and adores taking care of her. It was a random thought, but she managed to get dirt on her ankles and he sees this as soon as she steps into the house and so he gets a towel and she's? Confused? Because, what is he even doing? And then with a wet towel and a dry one, he just gets her to sit down and cleans her ankles and... she just. Sits there. Noragami Final Chapter Thoughts

You know what? I'm used to it.

I'm used to have exceptionally well-written manga get cut off or deadline-d to finish at certain point of time (usually by the publisher's order) when the authors still have so, so, SO much more left to give, so in the end they have no choice but to rush the final chapter.

Shingeki no Kyojin, Promised Neverland, Nisekoi, other mangas I forgot to name. And this manga. For such a long-running series with deep lore, they all could use a special volume (200+ pages) as an epilogue, not a 45-pages speedrun of everyone's everafter. I wish more series could follow Mob Psycho's example. Some say Mob Pycho Season 3 is too long, it needs to be more compact etc, but I don't think so at all. I think it's perfect the way it is -- it's a fulfilling send-off for all the characters we love so much. I wish more series would get their ending like that, but what can I say about Japanese manga industry.

And there's also Adachitoka's health to consider too. In which case, I'd say they did their best, and I'm really thankful for them for being able to deliver this series safely.

In short, I already expected this chapter to be a speedrun. Because of that, my experience when I read this chapter is better than I expected.

Maybe because I've learned my lessons for not making theory too much, so I don't have certain expectations that'd cloud my judgement.

With no deep thoughts when reading, let's go dive in.

The PUNS it still gets me. Yukine's sister calling Haruki's name while watching a tree that blossoms in spring is 😭😭😭

I guess this is his punishment for wrecking havoc in the human world and disturbing the Heaven? But like, he was clearly under the influence of trashdad?? He's not really at fault?? Is this author's message that we shouldn't justify his action just because we understood his reasons?? But still. That's too cruel for doing it for your own main character.

I know shinkis that were left behind by their master would retain their name after the master's death, but still. To think Izanami's power is still working on Yukine after the Kotonoha is destroyed. This is tragedy.

Wdym "intense cpr," it's more than intense. It's hella long too. Nobody could perform intense cpr for hours nonstop, unless that person is non-human.

Since Yukine is infected by GGS and always in constant nightmare, I'd like to believe Kazuma is experiencing the same thing; in order to separate him from the rest of the clan, now Kazuma sleeps with Bishamon every night. Lucky bastard.

That is so touching of Yato for comforting his sobbing child every night, but I wish we got a glimpse of his reminisce with his now-gone Father.

Oh wooww the dude finally stopped playing around. I thought he didn't have the guts to cut Hiyori's ties, turns out he really cut itt. No wonder Hiyori forgot about him for 10 years.

(Though I don't think she forgot completely either. Yato might not be in her head anymore, but he's still in her heart)

The power of the match-matching ema hunged by Ookuninushi is really strong, huh. Hiyori managed to remember Yato again, despite her already-severed-ties with Yato.

(or maybe not. I guess their fate really IS intertwined, knowing their first meeting)

I kinda wish Hiyori would remember Yato much later, like, in her 40s when she already has kids on her own, but hey, the sooner she remembers him, the longer he'd stay on this Earth so I'd still consider it a win!

Tbh, a part of me don't want her to get involved with far shore like she did in the past, but a part of me also wants her to snuggle between Yato and Yukine's arms after her work hours end. Dilemma.

Now I need Hiyori's journey to become one hell of a rich doctor so she could build a proper shrine for Yato so she and her family could pray together every morning, because she claimed it's Yatogami who saved her life that day. She'd make dinner for Yato and Yukine and eat with them every evening while her family acknowledge it as her night-praying-time. She'd tell her family, her future husband, and her future children about the legend of Yato (she'd exaggerate it a lot) and the next thing she knows, Yato have already has a devoted followers. Oh, and she'd often visited Bisha's shrine, Kofuku's, Ebisu's, all gods associated with Yato.

That's it folks. I rarely do my thoughts about Noragami, but I do read it religiously regularly each month. This manga has already become my comfort manga no matter how angsty it is, so it's gonna be hard to part with it, after all this time. Maybe for next month I'm gonna restart from chapter 1, one chapter per month.

I do have to say though, usually when I read a series with unsatisfactory ending, it leaves a bad taste in mouth. Somehow this chapter don't feel like that at all. I don't know why. I still look at this chapter and all the previous ones with fondness.

I wanna dream that 1-2 years from now, Adachitoka would release a 200-pages of Noragami epilogue -- which I know it's impossible, but hey, let the girl dream. I'm also looking forward for the extra komas, if there's any.

The Promises I’m Making (2025)

After the absolute garbage fire that was my life in 2024, I'm kind of just sitting here like... "What do?" What do I even try to focus on for 2025? Will the promises I make right now even be relevant in two months' time, given how many plot twists my life has become prone to?

There's also definitely a correlation between not having money and struggling to come up with resolutions. Why does everything in life cost so much?

Please 2025... let me live in uninteresting times...

2025 Promises

1) Ensure the plumbing repairs in the Utah house are completely finished and the ceiling/floors are restored.

2) Pay back as much of the loan I had to take out as quickly as possible to reduce the monthly payments.

3) Have the AC unit in the Texas house replaced and paint the ceiling where there are water spots from the leaks.

4) Clean up the kitchen area of my Texas house; there is a bunch of kitsch accumulating on the far edge of the counters that I just don't need in a kitchen.

5) Get all the bookshelves/books organized in my Texas house.

6) Clean off my back patio/car port area in the Texas house so I can park my car there again.

7) Call a handyman and have the Texas house bathroom faucets replaced.

8) Clean out the Texas house closets and figure out what to do with all the old boxes like my old computer boxes that I've been cramming in there.

9) Put up a shelf in my room for my figures so that they're not completing clogging up the top of the dresser.

10) Fix the damaged spot on the backyard fence of the Texas house.

11) Clean out all the drawers in my desk/side tables/etc. What is even in there???

12) Take better care of the Texas house lawn, like fighting weeds and trimming the hedge more often.

13) Assemble my new display case and actually successfully organize/display all my plushies. I have... too many plushies...

14) Change the burned-out lightbulbs in the recessed lighting in the Texas house ceiling. It’s like twelve feet high and the lightbulb changer stick I bought didn’t work, so I’m going to have to find someone with a ladder. Save me, handyman. Save me.

15) Help my brother reorganize his furniture in the room he's staying currently; dude has never heard of the concept of maximizing space and it shows.

16) Help my parents tear out the carpet in my old childhood bedroom.

17) Actually use the yoga mat I bought forever and a day ago. This year... for sure...

18) Walk the dog more. Even if the dog herself doesn't like walking when it's hot out lol.

19) Lose at least twenty pounds.

20) Do a complete re-read of Noragami and post some of my closing thoughts on the series.

21) This is super nerdy, but my bro got me the FFXIV cookbook and made me promise to actually use it, so I guess I’d better at least try to make something from it. (Years later, I'm still... trying... lol)

22) Take at least one decent picture of a wild sea turtle.

23) Reach the new level cap with all jobs in FFXIV. I'm late, whoops.

24) Spend less on gacha games and Starbucks. Gotta save money…

25) Close out my old credit union account and call to check in on closing any old credit cards I might still have.

26) Fully deep clean and vacuum/detail my own car at home. No more of the “It doesn’t make sense to clean it out now; the dog is just going to go back in it.” The dog is always going to go back in it. Clean it, Echo.

27) Complete my follow up medical appointments and handle all medical situations in a timely manner.

28) See at least three new species of birds. Doesn’t matter where, just three new ones!

29) Get a new battery in my watch so I can go back to wearing it.

30) Waste less food; I buy things all the time and then don't get to them before they go bad. It's the worst.

31) Make use of the Sam's Club membership my parents bought me for Christmas.

32) Repair the lovely one-of-kind ceramic plate that my dog broke with kintsugi. I want to try it at least once!

33) Block more people. I know this sounds odd but I have a terrible habit of getting into debates when I see bad takes on social media and honestly there's no point in wasting so much time. I gotta block and move on a lot more lol.

34) Put all the small prints, postcards, and stickers I have collected in my new mini-print books. I can even use up washi tape to decorate too. (Finally, a purpose for the washi tape…)

35) Get the situation with the IT systems at work resolved so that all data can be correctly submitted.

36) Apply for online adjunct positions to help make extra money on the side.

37) Make sure my classes are ready to go before each semester, including properly scheduling the announcements and everything.

38) Buy birthday cards in advance for everyone so I have them available to send when birthdays come around.

39) Draw more this year. Maybe I won't have time to fully line and color artworks digitally, but I should at least not let my tiny amount of art ability wither into nothingness...

40) Write and post something... Anything at this rate, please.

41) Build the pretty koi paper lantern my brother got me, or the Korean temple model my coworker gave me after his trip to Korea.

42) Visit the beach more often... Need relaxation...

43) Take better care of my kitty. It's not like I don't take decent care of her, but I definitely put more effort into doing things with the dog than the cat and I think she is big jealous.

44) Go see at least one play. Live theater is good for the soul.

45) See about removing the PMI from at least one of my house loans to try to save money. I’ve been paying on these loans long enough I shouldn’t need PMI anymore.

46) Take a day trip to Santa Cruz Island with Kacchan.

47) Read the book that has been on my "To read" list for the longest time. I don't know which one that is off the top of my head, but I will finally finish one that has been on the list!

48) Try to go to bed earlier more consistently than last year; I really punished myself with terrible sleep over the last few months and its not helping the health situation.

49) Go through my bookshelves to find books to donate, then donate the books to people's little free libraries.

50) I will keep my promises!

OH ALSO MAIKO. I fucking love Mai x Zuko. I love Suki and Sokka but that's a given. They're fucking made for each other. but fucking Maiko?? I still get shivers from "I love Zuko more than I fear you." ughhjhhhh She's grumpy and mean but she loves him so muchhhhh. I don't give a fuck about the ship wars with ATLA except Maiko and Suki and Sokka.

Edwin and Royai from FMA :) Mostly Edwin, I teared up when Winry accidentally ripped his cute proposal apart with "Half? I'll give you all of me?"

(honestly it's funny because I had them for a while but then I got into the Odyssey and I realized they match up with my Odypen so I think poured so many of my thoughts from them into OdyPen as it fits. Water shit, scammers, one keeps having shit thrown at them and wants it to stop, etc. so much alike lol)

Because like, there's some Poly ships where I KNOW that the character has a favorite. Canonically. Some people can know there's a favorite and still ship but not my jealous ass :') I would always feel bad and jealous on that character's behalf because I have lizard brain. Ship what you ship but with Odysseus for example, if he had to choose between Penelope and someone else, he'd choose Penelope. Always. I'm sorry but that's literally canon. He wouldn't even hesitate or feel bad.

Honestly, if folks know of poly ships who are all holding hands, are all mutually obsessed, and not letting go then I'm all ears.🥹

Merry Christmas @yatoholmes !! I was your Noragami Secret Santa! (Although I think you kinda figured it out haha).

I had a great time chatting with you about Noragami and instantly fell in love with the idea of Kazuma & Touma’s sibling like relationship. You made me remember how important she was to Kazuma and how having her as his mentor really shaped him to who he is today. So I decided to write a small story of Kazuma gifting her a scarf and of course the art to go with it!

A Mentor’s Gift

“Which God do you think brings snow?” Touma’s voice was quiet in the fading flare of dusk as snow started to fall into the palm of her hand. She sighed and watched the snow quickly dissolve, the breath escaping her lips with a small cloud of her own.

Kazuma tilted his head at the girl, “where is this coming from I wonder?”

“Oh, well I heard someone once say how the Gods are more than just celestial beings. They’re the mountains, the sea, the skies and so much more,” she shivered and smiled sweetly, “makes you wonder what Lady Bishamon is. Don’t you?”

Kazuma honed in on the tips of reddened fingers as Touma clutched them together, huffing out a heated breath to warm them from the frosted air and the snow she couldn’t help but to collect.

“Kuraokami,” replied Kazuma.

“Huh?”

Had she forgotten what they were talking about?

“The God that brings snow, Kuraokami. Said to be a dragon that flies across the land bringing rain and snow.”

Touma looked a bit dumbfounded as her hands fell to her waist before a small smirk grew on her lips. “Alright mister big-shot, so you know a lot of things now that you're in the master’s top lineup?”

A flush of embarrassment, not from the chilled wind, appeared onto the boy’s cheek. He looked away into the dissipating sun that now hid behind the trees and the mountains. “You hear about a lot of things when you're around other gods and shinkis.”

“Well of course you do but how will I ever know that when I'm stuck being one of the most useless-" the young shinki's remorse was cut short by the wrapping of a scarf around her neck. It was a dark indigo, a color to match her own obi.

"Now, that doesn't sound like something my mentor would say."

Touma looked shocked by his words but knew all too well of his kindness and truthful statements. He was one of the few she felt like she could trust and depend on. Even if he was her underling. She tried to put on her tough face.

"I'm just surprised that Mr. Big-shot had time for me today, to come with me to the village festival and all."

"I'll always have time for you, Touma. Being a part of Bishamon’s outing team will never change that. I promise.”

She laughed brightly, stronger and more cheerful than she had for a long while. It warmed Kazuma's heart to hear the sweet giggle again.

"Kazuma,” she replied as she watched her pupil tie the scarf around her, “when the day comes that you replace that old hag as head shinki, just promise me you'll remember who helped you get there."

His chuckle was light, "I'm glad you have so much faith in me."

"Of course! You'd be much better off leading the way than that old bat!"

Kazuma wasn’t so sure about that but he had to agree about one thing. He didn’t like the elder’s poor attitude and distasteful glares she’d give him for piercing Lady Bishamon’s ear. He surely didn’t like how rude she was to Touma either for her so-called “useless” vessel form.

He did, however, like the kindness of his master towards the small girl as well as her kindness towards him.

"Touma, whatever happens, I promise I'll never forget what you've taught me." Once Kazuma finished tying up the small shinki in her new scarf the fabric quickly escaped from his cold hands. She pranced away down the lantern lit road, her tied up hair flowing along with the snow’s path. She looked back quickly with a guilty look.

“Sorry I didn’t get you anything, Kazuma.”

It only took a couple strides for him to catch up before he ruffled the top of her head as he approached, “It’s okay, having you as my mentor is a gift in itself.”’

“Hey, Hey!” She screeched as she swatted his hand away, “just because you’re taller doesn’t mean you’re older than me.”

“I mean, technically I am-” he stopped as he saw a pout take the place of her smile, he sighed. “Alright, come on, how about I treat you to some takiya.”

She nodded her head as her pout began to fade. She watched as he walked down the path in front of her, his eyes scanning for the booth to buy them both a treat.

With a timid voice she called out, “Thanks, big bro-” she bit her tongue as he looked back at her with a confused look.

She couldn’t possibly let Kazuma’s head grow too big. Not that quickly.

She smiled.

Maybe someday.

“Thanks, Kazuma.”

"You okay?"

You inhale sharply and glance over to your boyfriend, Peter, seated beside you. He was looking at you with pinched eyebrows, his soft brown orbs dimmed ever so slightly due to worry. "Yeah, yeah I'm okay." You tell him. "Just... thinking." You explain, giving him a reassuring smile. Peter pauses, gives you the usual once over before smilimg back and turning to his work.

By, 'Just thinking' you really meant that your thoughts were racing at impossible speeds and you couldn't focus on anything in front of you. The room felt slightly warmer than it was before. Your vision swam ever so slightly. You felt your heart beating in your chest. Harder and harder as if it were a squirrel on speed, stuck in a small box. Your hands started shaking and you realized how hard it was to breathe. You cursed yourself slightly and dropped your pen, giving up on the damn math equation in order to sit back in your chair and try to breathe.

Your brain had ultimately decided screw you, so now your chest was tight. You tried to breathe in deeply, fill your lungs properly. That didn't happen. You tried again, still hopeful that it would end soon, trying to allow your diaphragm to drop and expand so that you could breathe again and then go back to work. Your diaphragm did it's job but it did it poorly. You knew this was just a small anxiety thing. It wasn't a proper attack. It would just be a massive inconvenience for five or so minutes.

"Y/N, are you sure you're okay? You only do that when-" he cut himself off. "Oh." Peter dropped to his knees beside you and took one of your hands. "Hey, is there anything I can do?" He offers, watching you carefully. You shake your head. "You know there isn't anything you can do Pete." You say, an edge to your voice. Another failed breath.

You tell yourself that as long as you're still breathing you're still fine.

"All we can do is wait." Peter studied you and the surrounding room. You sat back further and continued trying. You had learnt over the years that if you panicked it became worse. So all you needed to do was remain calm and you would be fine.

"Y/N I can't just, stand here idly while you are having trouble breathing." He states firmly. You sigh gently as an idea hits you. "Pete, doesn't May have like, an asthma pump in your first aid box for emergencies or something?" His eyes sparked as you said that.

"Oh my god yes! She does. Maybe her paranoia will come in handy for once." He kissed your hand and fled the room.

The only reason you knew it was there was because a while back Peter had gotten into a fight with Flash at school.

For such an apparently small fight, he had pretty bad injuries: Full blown scratches and cuts as if he was pushed to the ground several times. A black eye, busted lip, fractured knuckles and even a lightly sprained ankle.

Long story short you had to patch him up. It was terrible but a little bit nice since for once you were taking care of him and not the other way rounden again you never saw the fight happen nor did you mention it to Flash. Peter had asked you not to so you didn't.

Part of you always did want to confront Flash but then again your anxiety would problem chew your tongue so you wouldn't be able to get a word out.

Peter ran back into the room with the asthma pump and handed it to you. You placed it in your mouth, pushed the pump and felt the thing dispense as you tried to breathe it in as far as you possibly could. After a few minutes of Peter watching you and holding your hand. You were finally able to breathe again.

"You alright?" You nod in response. "Maybe we should get you one of these." You shrug and try to get back to work, your hands still shaking.

"Y/N."

"Yes Peter."

"Are we gonna go get one?"

"Yeah, after I've finished this." He sighed and took your pen, turning your face to his. "We have all day to finish this. It's ten am on a Saturday. It's due on Monday. You'll be fine." You search his eyes. "But Peter, the sooner we get it done the sooner we can realx." He doesn't let up. "Y\N the pharmacy is literally two blocks away, we'll be back in around ten minutes." Peter gives you this smile. That is what finally makes you cave. "Okay fine Peter we'll go." He grins and takes your hand, leading you out the door.

You two walked to the pharmacy, Peter held your right hand and swung it like a six year old. You smiled gently at that and Peter made a note to continue doing it since he knew it made you smile. You passed the two blocks fairly fast and arrived at the pharmacy. Peter took you inside and you walked towards the counter. You were about to talk but your mouth wouldn't open. You started to ask for an asthma pump but only stuttered like an idiot for about a minute straight until Peter stepped in and purchased it for you. You stood off to the side with your head in your hands, trying to quell your over active mind. When Peter touched your arm you jumped. He rubbed your arm softly as a comforting thing before buying two or three other things.

When you exited the store you took the packet from Peter in your left hand and held his hand with your right. Peter went back to swining your arm and your smile was a bit dimmer.

You were two shops away form his apartment building when Peter suddenly let go of your hand and dropped to the ground. You were about to ask what the hell when you saw he had tied both your shoes for you. He stood up, dusted his hands off and tried to take your hand again.

"Why did you just tie my shoe laces for me?" You didn't know whether to be thankful for that or annoyed that he thought you weren't able to look after yourself. Peter rubbed your hand gently and said "Well I know how particular you are about your shoes being tight and I thought it would be eaiser if I just tied them real quick so you didn't stress about stopping people on the street or anything like that. It's not because I believe you aren't able to do it. I just wanted to try and make your life easier if I could." You took a deep breath, your annoyance easing away.

"Thank you Peter."

"Always my gorgeous." He kissed your temple and you two started towards the apartment again. Both of you swinging your arms.

Gonna try to answer these with no spoilers!

❤️: Power is Best Girl! She's very funny and entertaining, and I enjoy just how different she is from your typical supporting female character.

💔: Himeno really squicks me out with her whole coming-onto-teenagers thing. I really wish it was at least handled more seriously in the manga, if not taken out entirely. It ruins her whole character for me, which is a shame because otherwise she's really neat!

💕: Platonic Denji and Power! They're so cute, and I'm so happy that they stayed platonic the entire manga!

📖: The Bomb Girl arc is my favorite arc! I really enjoyed Reze as a character and her relationship with Denji, and Beam and Aki & Angel also had some great moments!

🚫: Not really, since I tend to stay away from the toxic sides of all fandoms.

📺: I really wish we got an actual trailer instead of a pre-animated trailer, as well as a release date, but I'm still really excited! I don't think we have anything to worry about, and I'm sure it'll be a good adaptation!

👺: Bomb Girl was able to do a lot with her powers! From detatching and exploding any part of her body, to forming her limbs into various explosives.

👤: I'd probably be a human with a Devil friend, like Denji and Pochita at the very beginning

🫀: My top favorite scene would probably have to be the dumpster scene with Power and Denji because of how cute yet bittersweet it was.

As for quotes, it's this scene in the Eternity Devil arc:

✏️: It's in my top 3, next to Tokyo Ghoul and Noragami!

🧠: I actually technically read it when it first came out. Chapter 1 came out right after Tokyo Ghoul had ending, and the whole TG fandom was looking for a new manga and tried out Chainsaw Man. I kept up for several weeks and enjoyed the start, but I slowly lost interest during the slow pace of the Bat Devil Arc. Then I didn't read it for a few years until I decided to catch up. With much more story to get to, I ended up liking and appreciating the story a lot more than when I first tried it.

📚: Since CSM, I've read a chapter or two of Fire Punch and intend to finish it one day, and I've read most of his one-shots, like "Yogen no Nayuta" and "Niwa ni wa niwa niwatori ga ita", which is named after a japanese tongue twister.

🌼: To have the level of determination that Denji does, as well as his unique but effective approach to problems

💭: I hope to see Quanxi make some appearances, Reze to show up and go to school with Denji, and lots of cute found family content with single dad Denji, Nayuta, and their cat and dogs.

🖤: I think that other anime female characters are prettier than Makima is. Even in Chainsaw Man, I think Quanxi and Reze are prettier than she is, so I don't quite get the extreme level of simping for her

🤍: ALL OF THEM. Denji and Aki especially, but even Makima herself deserved better than what she became

🤡: The Himeno scenes with Denji and underage Aki were pretty uncomfortable and the comedic framing made it worse

💲: I'm more than content with the two we got. Aki would be fun to complete the family, and Makima's design would be really neat to have a figure of. And matching Reze and Quanxi figures with their respective hybrid forms to match the Denji nendroid would be awesome too!

📈: I'm pretty excited! I generally prefer watching to reading so I'm glad that people who may not like to or be able to easily read manga will get to experience the story, especially since the adaptation seems like it'll be faithful and well-animated. I'm totally going to force my anime-only friends to watch it when it airs! On the flip side, I'm certain the fanbase is going to be terrible, but like always I'll be sticking to the non-toxic sides

🌹: It's not really important to me in a personal way, but I appreciate and really enjoy all the symbolism and depth to the story, and I can't wait to see how much further it goes in Part 2. My favorite symbolism in the story is probably the Country Mouse vs City Mouse symbolism, because it was compared to so many characters as well as mice themselves.

👀: The running joke with Kobeni's car is hilarious, and I'll never get over just how fitting it is for Kobeni's character

hey, i'm thinking of getting into anime and i'm not sure wher to start. what are your top 5?

First things first you should know that anime is a dark and deep hole that you should avoid if at all possible. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Anyway.

Sports animes are good beginner ones because they’re not too plot heavy and are fun. Free! was the first anime I ever saw (sort of) so it’s not a bad place for you to start either. Haikyuu!! is also incredible but I’m very biased as it’s probably my favorite anime ever. Yuri on Ice!!! and Ouran High School Host Club also aren’t bad places to start. Sword Art Online is a very good beginner anime even though it goes from 100 to 0 very quickly. Also I’ve heard that Cowboy Bebop is the best anime of all time but I have yet to see it so if you start here, let me know how it is. I’ll get to it eventually.

If you decide to join the weeaboo club and want to get into more animes, Noragami was a lot of fun/emotional and Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) is great if you want to cry a lot. Mob Psycho 100 was excellent if you’re into weird and a lot of bright colors/trippy animation. Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Mach) is a dark murder mystery slash sci-fi adventure drama that was fucked up but excellent. Kiznaiver is great if you want to feel a lot of things. Parasyte is a great and also pretty fucked up body horror anime if you’re into that. Death Parade is great if you want to think about mortality and the human condition a lot. Show by Rock!! is fun if you like bright colors, catchy music, and Sanrio with little to no actual plot. Oh and Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) is about to make a huge resurgence with S2 happening vaguely soon.

But in terms of my personal favorite animes, I think I’m gonna have to go with…….

Haikyuu, to literally no one’s surprise

Free! holds an important place in my heart 

mmm Bungo Stray Dogs? 

Kiznaiver just because ep 9 is a masterpiece and because ep 2 is called “If You Can Swallow a Bizarre Situation Like This So Easily, Two Buckets of Barium Shouldn’t Be a Problem” which is incredible

mmmmmm and maybe Noragami? 

And also Pokemon Sun/Moon because it is too an anime

And an honorable mention to Fate/Stay Night because Saber is my actual waifu

And another honorable mention to Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic because while I just finished S1 today and have not yet started S2, that is also shaping up to be a v good anime

And a second bonus honorable mention to Haikyuu because please watch it

But these are just my opinions. I’ve only been in the anime hole for about a year so I haven’t even come close to watching everything and there are more good animes out there than I’ll ever have time to see. Also check this out for more sweet anime recs.

Hi, how are you doing? I hope everything's going well with your finals :). There is a second season of blue exorcist asdhjkl how didn't I know this?? And noragami too? I don't really watch a lot of anime so I'm lowkey excited rn that you like the same ones haha. And yes I like chopin a lot in general but the variations are really nice in their own way ^^. Also have you heard of ólafur arnalds? I discovered him like an hour ago and his music is so beautiful and enthralling! [1]

 Finals are killing me rn and I’m looking forward so much to the semester break, I can’t wait for january to pass already ;_;. I just booked plane tickets to the uk because I’ll finally be able to visit a close friend who moved there a few months ago and I’m soo excited ^^. Also I just talked to my dad and apparently we might visit family in Amsterdam too! Ah I’m so happy rn :)). Also I read all the light we cannot see (I'm starting to feel like a nerd OTL) and unfortunately I didn't enjoy [2]

it at all . Going in I was so sure I was going to love it since it’s being hyped so much and it sounded like something I'd really enjoy, but I’m not sure I’ve ever been so disappointed by a book tbh. (probably very long procrastination fueled rant to follow). Firstly the plot is incredibly thin and the entire story is really predictable and inflated, and tbh sometimes the entire story just felt like a bit of an excuse to showcase as much of the authors [3]

very purple-prosey (is this a word? lol) writing as possible without worrying about any deeper meaning whatsoever. And I heard so much about his style and the way it was described, I was so sure I was going to like it, but unfortunately that wasn't the case either. There are some really beautiful sentences yes, but most of the time it felt like the author was like 'hey let's make this #poetic and just throw in 500 adjectives and half-baked metaphors before literally everything' so quite often[4]

it just felt kinda forced? My main problem was probably the pacing though (and the ending which was… anticlimactic to say the least (and not in a purposefully thought-provoking way but it felt more like he had just written himself in a bit of a corner)). The pacing was soo slow (and I usually really enjoy this!) and it wasn’t in a calm and serene way either but in a let's rush important scenes but sure let's talk about everything else in excruciating detail kind of way [5]

and I never really cared for any of the characters, no matter in how many delicate ways their *uniqueness* (one guy has white hair and it’s mentioned like 400 times) was described. Holy shit this got long! I didn’t know I had so many feelings about this lmao. well anyways I wasn’t really a fan of the book, but tastes differ and I mean almost everyone else seems to love it, so idk maybe you’d like it too. ahah yes - blue exorcist (I almost wrote blue orchids omg) and noragami are also some of my faves, mostly in terms of animation tbh, I can be so exigent with the art of the animation and these two are so well made. (and the characters are amazing as well - after finishing blue exorcist I spent quite a few weeks obsessing over yukio, he was such a fave of mine! and I absolutely adore yato)

YES I LOVE OLAFUR! you’ve probably listened to this one already (I think it’s his most popular) but near light is just so amazing. this one has helped me write a looot. :)

ALSO YOU’RE GOING TO AMSTERDAM *dies* it’s a city that’s definitely on my bucket list, right under tokyo. and even though I already went to london, I missed so many things I found out were there after coming back, so I really want to visit again T_T (besides.. all the merch I could buy LOL when it comes to that kind of stuff spain is really lacking)

also, thank you so much for your review of the light we cannot see, this is very eye opening! hmm, the thing is, I am having a hard time finding books that can help me improve my style. I want to stray away from YA books because I read too much of those when I was younger and they don’t have a style I look up to anymore, especially when it comes to their plots (usually driven by love triangles and werewolves or vampires, and I really want to read something different you know). I was considering the light we cannot see because everyone praises its writing, but now that you mention it, the reviews rarely mention the plot and/or the characters, which probably reflects how overshadowed those are by the author’s focus on the prose, and I really need enthralling plots to get hooked. hmm, I was going to buy it blindly, but now I think I’ll check it online first :)) then again, it could be good practice for me to read it even if the plot is lacking, since I also want to improve my narrative. (not to the point of throwing in 500 adjectives just to make it look pretty ahaha, but maybe I can learn some new vocabulary!)

talking about books, do you have any recommendations? like I said, I really want to read from authors that make me fall in love with both their writing and their story telling. I haven’t found much of that besides murakami. ;;; I am also trying to find books that are space related / futuristic and I found the Unwind series, which is also young adult but it seems to have plenty of good reviews, so I might give it a chance, but I’m still not sure. idk why, but I’m finding it soo hard to find books that I want to read. maybe I am just not looking in the right places ;_; anyway, I’ll probably let you know what I think of ‘all the light we cannot see’ when I give it a chance after my exams :))
