So are we sure that game Knuckles actually had a name before Sonic showed up to Angel Island for the first time? Because I can totally picture this little red echidna who's been alone his whole life and doesn't even have a name, and then this random speedy blue hedgehog shows up who he's been told by Robotnik want to steal his Master Emerald, and this hedgehog just looks at his big spiked fists and goes, "Yo, Knuckles!" and this poor guy just has an identity crisis on the spot until he decides to go with it because "Guardian of the Master Emerald" is a lot to say every time he wants to talk about himself.

The man on the radio says it's Friday, things are fabulous and that there ain't nobody here but us chickens. Weatherwise we're talking sunshine and lots of it. The traffic lady gives us the latest road related shenanigans before she and the man on the radio talk about Irish curses. "Go n-ithe an cat thu, is go n-ithe an diabhal an cat" ... "May the cat eat you, and may the devil then eat the cat."

Today's groaner: A police officer called the station on his radio. "I have an interesting situation here. An old lady shot her husband for stepping on the floor she just mopped" ... "Have you arrested her?" asked his superior ... "No" replied the police officer "the floor is still wet." ;-D badoom tish ... here all week!!

All is well in Loft Cat land ... blood test results were tickety boo! Her only problem (it would seem) is that she's a wee bit wide. I've been cutting down her food but to no avail thus far. That cat certainly likes to hang onto her calories ... that or she's got her own cat chef up there preparing tasty morsels every hour, on the hour. This would go a long way towards explaining the unlocatable smells that regularly drift through the house. That or I'm just crazy! ;-)

Friday, Friday, Friday and I'm feeling good ... the shiny metropolis is dim and distant for a few days (fingers crossed) ... coffee, calm and critters and hints of the lost postman are all that are drifting through, and long may that continue. Well ... for the next half an hour at least ...

Where do you think jon and arya will reunite in twow? Castle black or winterfell? I personally think arya is the girl in grey so they will reunite at Castle black or eastwatch by the sea.

Well! For starters, I am not entirely positive that Jon and Arya will reunite in TWOW. As much as I would like to see it there's a lot of plot to get through and we might not hit that point until ADOS. That being said, I think either Winterfell or Harrenhal are the likeliest options, since I do believe the Long Night will bleed into the riverland. The girl in grey isn't Arya though, Alys Karstark is and we've already seen that particular plot play out. How she ended up at the Wall won't have any impact on where/when Jon and Arya reunite.

In Collateral the function the usage of homophones assumes is adapted when Max makes out the bloodied windshield from the hit to be the blood of a deer; the original meaning being extracted just before with Vincent – in a similar vein – noting about his quarry, “they’re somebody’s friends…”

In addition, prior to the cops pulling them over, Vincent muses: “Probably married. Maybe that one's got kids. Probably his wife's pregnant…” assessing the potential familial relations of the (“deer”) persons he threatens will be added to the quarry of murdered “deer” ones filling the trunk space.

Crafting update: - the scrap quilt top is done but I've made zero progress on actually quilting it - I did get to the local quilt shop to get some batting this weekend though! - I also got some fabric. Shrinking my fabric stash is going...not great lol (it's super cute fabric though and I am excited) - I made a Large Mothman plushie body! it still needs wings, eyes, antennae, and maybe arms, but it's coming along - I also made chicken and dumplings! with extra veggies because there were veggies in the fridge to use up - I'm working on crocheting some scarves, because my brother learned to crochet and wants to make the whole family matching scarves for christmas but there's a lot of us and it's a short timeline so I'm making some of them too

I need book recs (especially audiobooks). I've listened to like 13 Discworld books and I love them but I need something different to keep me going during my night shifts.

I'll read anything if it's interesting enough, my only hard no is YA. I'm especially interested in genre fiction that actually gets creative with its world (fantasy that isn't medieval Europe with dragons, sci-fi that's more than just spaceships and robots, etc.) Queer stuff is also good, but it's so hard finding anything that isn't YA and/or about two generically pretty twenty-somethings. Actually, bonus points for anything with a protagonist who is 30+, fat, unattractive, trans-masc, or non-human.
