JC!!!
No you did not make a father/son RO choice 💀
I just saw this and ofcourse you did 🤣😭
It's gonna be me in Honor amongst thieves all over again.
Now i have to ask another two parter question:
Sorry, i know I'm annoying 😑
1. How would Namer's son actually feel about him dating an MC around their age?
And 2. Much more importantly.
TOTALLY HYPOTHETICAL!!!!!
Completely
I never do this....
Clearly!!!
But say you struggle to really choose between the ROs. And you kinda romance more than one....🫣
How would the ROs react to that? Are some of them very jealous? And who would have the most rivalry dynamic among the ROs if MC was interested in more than one RO.
Just for shits and giggles... i completely have no problem with this in every other game.........
Also hiiiiiii!!! 😇💕
No you did not make a father/son RO choice 💀 I just saw this and ofcourse you did 🤣😭
Huh? I did?
Oh wait. I did. Oops 😇 Could be father/daughter too 🙃
1. How would Namer's son actually feel about him dating an MC around their age?
Very weirded out. They would be uncomfortable around MC for a long time. I think they would need some years to get used to it. If MC is cool about it, then maybe sooner, but I don't think Ahmose could ever really be friends with that MC, not on a deeper level.
you struggle to really choose between the ROs. And you kinda romance more than one....🫣
I thought about this for a long time, and I came to the conclusion that I will do locked romance routes. Not because I don't like jealousy scenes (I love them), but I think I already have way too many variables in the story to be able to implement a who-dates-who/ break-up/get-together-again thing. It would just be too much to write and I'm already writing A LOT.
So, my current plan is to make a choice in Chapter 4 (up to change), where you choose your final RO and get stuck with it 'til the bitter end. I'm sorry if this disappoints some readers, but I think this is the best solution for me to be able to deliver a quality story.
How would the ROs react to that? Are some of them very jealous? And who would have the most rivalry dynamic among the ROs if MC was interested in more than one RO.
For the aforementioned reasons, this ask is not spoilery then, so here you go 😀
I think Narmer would be the most jealous lol. He would try not to show it, but he really wouldn't like it if MC suddenly starts showing interest in someone else. (ESPECIALLY if that other person is his kid, then he would be pissed off. Unless the MC is a teen. Then he would go YES go choose Ahmose you idiot)
Qenna would take that as an opportunity to push the MC towards the other, clearly better, more emotionally stable, not-a-trainwreck potential love interest. It would hurt them like a bitch, but they would still do it.
Zaia would sulk. They would be conflicted between wanting to prove that they are clearly better than that other nobody, but at the same time, Zaia would realize that MC would probably be better off with a fellow human.
Tabiry would be a bit jealous. But she also knows that the MC is a person with free will and a free heart, so she would try to up her game, but otherwise, wouldn't interfere. She would sulk in private.
Ahmose would be a bit heartbroken. I think they would just go for advice to Qenna, who is actually not the worst person to ask for advice, and Qenna would tell them to have confidence, be themselves, and let the MC choose what they want. (bit hypocritical, but that's Qenna in a nutshell)
Long ass answer lol, but thanks for the messages! ✨ (you are not annoying)

My thoughts on the ending of Danganronpa Despair Time Chapter 2
Man just when I think I can predict what'll happen in Drdt it throws a 180
I'm gonna hide the spoilerly stuff under the read more but first things first of my god... this was great!!! And it also makes me TERRIFIED for chapter 3 because chapter 2 was enough of an emotional rollar coaster, idk if the dev or anyone working on drdt will see this silly post bc a LOT of people have been sharing their thoughts on the ending of chapter 2 but I really enjoyed the ending
And that I don't mind if chapter 3 has a long wait bc my mental health is in shambles after this chapter
Okay now the spoilery stuff!
-First of all, I did find it interesting that the secrets (including David in his joker arc) was a bit of a red herring, the secrets weren't part of the murder/case at all, unless you count the part of Arturo threatening Eden over his secret, but after this trial EVERYONE's laundry has been aired and I wonder if that'll be touched upon in Chapter 3
-I think I've said this before but I love how the dead cast (Xander, Min, Arei, and now Ace) are just constantly mentioned, haunting the narrative, I'm pretty sure they're gonna keep that up
-Teruko having a mental breakdown after this, like homegirl spent ALL of chapter 2 trying to repress her grief over Xander and Min, but now that Arei, Ace, and potentially Levi are dead she ended up cracking, chapter 2 ending with her breaking down in the darkened trial room is heartbreakiiiing
-I read a couple posts before typing this and one of them mentioned that "MonoTV's comment about the most mastermind-y person getting punished" applied to Teruko almost being shot after telling Ace to kill MonoTV (she tried), the foreshadowing of this, like hey guys remember in chapter 1 when Ace was dragged into watching horror movies and he commented they were so scary he could've died from it :))
-Levi's really putting the L in Levi dude cant stop getting injured. but seriously I just wanna know WHY DID HE DO THAT LEVI OH MY GOD. LEVIIII
-MonoTV genuinely scared me, also the implications of who could potentially be running this show is also scaring me. and the implications that they're programmed to run this show until EVERYONE is dead.
-Not Ace's excecution being he gets psychologically tortured until its too much for his heart
-The fact it wasn't related to his talent but it was related to his constant fear of death is just evil.
-Also the way Ace goes out, before the ending I kind of thought his arc was a mirror to Arei's where that while she improved and started to trust some of the others, Ace became more cruel and distrustful, even to those still reaching out to him, he was so scared of dying that he ironically caused his own death by participating in the killing game and killing Arei
-And that he was so scared of dying, yet told MonoTV to go ahead with his execution so that the others could give Levi medical treatment and he even yells at Arturo that he CAN save Levi if he tries, dude in the end did change but sadly like Arei, he died before before being able to fully embrace that change
-also if you want to go more feral over the little details check out the names on the gravestones :))) I know at least ONE of the names is his only friend. And based his line of "I'm gonna have THREE deaths on my hands!" His friend might be deceased and he blames himself for it
-I was thinking "I sure hope the squeamish of the cast aka Charles and Rose shield their eyes during the execution" and then there was Whit's line of telling Charles to cover his eyes when Teruko is about to get shot
-Whit's sprite when the gang realize the elevators are closed is scaring me a little. its also scaring the Whit fans!
-That's all I'm gonna say about the ending, it was emotional and at least Ace was able to have some good moments before his end, I wonder what'll happen with the secrets aftermath including David causing problems on purpose, the cast realizing that the killing game is making them worse, and all the little lore that got dropped.

Before I ask my question, I just wanted to say your alien DCA designs are so cool looking; like the amount of detail and obvious passion you put into your art and just the concepts behind the story itself is mind boggling, very impressive😄
On to the question, if it’s not too spoilery, I was wondering what their personalities are like? How they interact with each other and other beings of their species.
Aaaawwww thank you so much!!! That made me so happy to hear, you just made my day with this ask <3333333 I hope your pillow is nice and cool on both sides forever!❤️‍
As for your question, there are some similarities with their canon personalities. Sun is more outgoing, the more extrovert one, but not nearly as hyper and in your face as canon Sun is. Moon is not introvert but he is more shy, doesn't really like to have all the attention on him. A gentle soul.
They've both enjoyed a solid education, as befits their ranking as advisors as well as their status as (to use an earth term that comes closest) princes. Sun also has a particular fondness for technical stuff, he loves to tinker with pieces of scrap and obsolete tech and try to make something new and useful out of it in his free time - he has lots of shiny cool ideas in his noggin that he wants to make a reality - but that also means he has the technical know-how to do more serious repairs when the situation calls for it.
Arts 'n crafts for the advanced lol.
Moon is a great observer and that makes him a great tactician. The more silent type, he prefers to watch from the sidelines and is usually quick to pick up on things others might miss. Very useful to have someone like Moon around in situations that require quick thinking. He usually won't speak up unless he feels he has something important to say, compared to Sun who is much more of a chatterbox.
They're very close, when you see one the other usually isn't far behind.
Their role as advisors to someone I'm not quite gonna talk about just yet, also means they have a more public role with the population because the one they are advising is often too busy to make a lot of public appearances, so Sun and Moon step in to do that for them.
They get along well with other nebuterrans, they don't see themselves as better or anything like that and they're well liked, but they're wary of ori'esires - meaning outsiders, anyone who is not nebuterran. As a species they keep to their own (with the exception of approved trade partners) and Sun and Moon are no different. Outsiders can't be trusted.
Except, right now... they don't have much of a choice but to put their trust in a certain outsider 👀

When would you say Wade started having feelings for Logan? :) ignore this if u want too lol
Ok ok ok
So I should probably not answer cause spoilers for Wade pov - but also who tf am i, marvel? its fanfic and i have no self control
I will however try to learn how tumblr works and put the spoilers below the line in case anyone wants to go into the wade pov blind
So yknow how Logan basically has a crush from the start, but its like a slow gentle build until he realises he's in love with Wade? And hes like huh well fuck, but also is like probably in hindsight I've been in love a little while. Kinda just puts his head in his hands and is like well this is something I now have to deal with
Wade's not quite like that
Wade has a crush from the start as well (in fact had a crush on Wolverine before he got to know Logan) and he's aware of it and wants to see where it goes, but after Vanessa he is initially not trying to rush into anything. So for a while he just kinda enjoys the crush - which is romantic feelings I guess, its not just "wow he's hot", and Wade is intending for it to maybe go somewhere, but he's also pretty detirmined at first not to put pressure on it. For a while he's like "yeah I have a crush and I'd like to see where this goes but I'm not like... gonna die if this doesn't work out"
And then comes the point (the exact moment of which I will keep secret to make more fun when the pov is out) where he falls in love/realises he's in love with Logan. And the idea of "just seeing where this goes" is out the window immediatly, because it hits him *hard* to a point where its almost terrifying, and it really does suddenly feel like he *will* die if he fucks this up and Logan leaves
So yeah sorry this doesnt actually answer the question entirely. To actually answer it somewhat, the love realisation will come around a similar point in the timeline to Logan's, but again, wanna keep the exact moment secret for now hehehehe
thanks for the ask i hope this is the right balance of spoilery vs not ruining it hehehe

Honestly I think you're one of my favourite kdrama bloggers on here and I'm curious: what are the kdramas you consider to be perfect? Like top to bottom not a single flaw seen. What's the best of dramaland for you?
Awww thank you! I love this type of ask too!
Any list of mine is gonna be of course vvv subjective (I am not a romcom lover for example) and I can guarantee you that the moment I hit post, I am gonna lose my mind because I will remember I forgot something.
Also, no flaw by definition excludes some of my faves where there are a few minor flaws but the rest is so amazing it doesn't matter (The Legend First King's Four Gods comes to mind - the first ep ie prologue set 1k years before the main story - is a lil cheesy. But the rest is so good I don't even care and same for My Dearest where I'd perhaps remove the final amnesia bit but it's a perfect drama otherwise with the rest so good I don't even care. So perhaps they should be listed.)
But anyway here are are some dramas where I have not seen a single flaw, perfect dramas.
Mawang (also known as The Devil or Lucifer) - probably the best kdrama dealing with revenge ever made - the damage, the driving need, the destruction of self and yet destruction of self without it. To really explain anything about it would be spoilery so all I am going to say is it revolves around an icy lawyer with a secret, a hot headed cop chasing a string of murders, and a librarian who can read past events by touching objects or people. The way I cried. The way I stared in shock as it ended. The sheer perfection of it all - the acting, the relationships, the writing. I get emotional just thinking of it.
IRIS - yup, an action drama. I am not much of a fan of various sequels/spin-offs (involving different characters, you do not need to watch anything else if you watched IRIS or to watch IRIS to watch the others) but the original is amazing. Sure, it's an actioner. It's also an amazing character study of a person taken apart and trying to put himself together, of past tangling, of people passing or failing tests set by life. It's just - AAAAAAAAA also yet another drama I bawled for hours over.
Train - Yoon Si Yoon is a cop slipping between alternate universes in search of a killer seems like a procedural with a side of scifi but it's more of a meditation on love and loss and what drives us to keep living (or not.)
Someday - hands down the most obscure kdrama on this list, this is a tale of four people whose lives intersect - a mangaka seeking inspiration, a sort of private detective hiding unimaginable trauma under his sunny demeanor, a manipulative yet childlike psychologist and a business minded friend of the last one, the sanest of them all. When people discuss healing dramas, this is the one that comes to mind. My favorite is the detective's arc because it's one of those trauma sunshine things where he's coping, coping, coping and then...stops.
Empress Ki and 6 Flying Dragons - if you watch only two long sageuks, make it these ones. They are smart (esp 6FD), and they are such amazing complex character studies of people being hollowed out by power. The OTPs are amazing and what I love but the character study is even better. And both are epic in all senses of the world.
Speaking of sageuks, Slave Hunters (also known as Chuno) about a former nobleman who's a slave hunter now, an escape slave who used to be a general, and a slave woman masquerading as an aristocrat is my favorite sageuk of all time - a love story, a character story, and a story of the dispossessed, this is smart and grim and hopeful and just - if there was ever a perfect sageuk, this is it.
The Princess' Man and Flower of Evil - ie Moon Chae Won loves a feral mess and goes MINE! TPM is a smart emotional sageuk, one of the best out there and FoE is a study of love and trauma.
Something Happened in Bali, Padam Padam, A Love to Kill, Spring Waltz, Thank You, Snow Queen, That Winter the Wind Blows - old school melodramas (perhaps not TY so much, it's more complicated in genre) that push people to the limits to expose their deepest selves.
My Country the New Age, Hong Gil Dong, Rebel the Thief Who Stole the People, The Crowned Clown, Return of Iljimae - they focus on class in period setting (just as Chuno did) and make me care and think.
Worlds Within - seemingly about lives of studio workers, this is a rare drama where you feel you are peeking at real people.
Gloria and Family Honor - 50 ep drama where I'd remove nothing and that feels so intimate.
W Two Worlds, Extraordinary You, The Moon in the Day, Live Up to Your Name, Queen In Hyun's Man - high concepts that improbably work and make you think and feel.
Secret Garden, City Hunter, Healer, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Faith, Tale of the Nine Tailed, I Hear Your Voice - just a wonderful good time.
Gaksital - take a bad guy, make him your protag, slowly redeem him and put him through hell.
Bad Guys - a bleak take on revenge and truth but also a damn good time at the same time somehow.
Beyond Evil and Cruel City - about cops but not really. About forgiveness, love and limits.
Come and Hug Me - brought me back to kdramas. A love story and trauma story and a bit of a thriller. It's everything.
Beauty Inside, Last Scandal, City Hall, My Girl, Delightful Girl Chunhyang and Hometown Cha Cha Cha - it is very rare for me to love romcoms. These few make the list. They also made me cry so make of it what you will.
Shut Up Flower Boy Band - the only time I liked a teen drama.
Capital Scandal and Chicago Typewriter - masterpieces dealing with the 1930s revolutionaries.
Que Sera Sera - if you love dysfunction and intense shipping, oh boy!
I am sure the moment I hit post, I will remember something else, but this will do for now.
ETA: aaaaaa Damo!!! My very first sageuk and what a way to start!!! Perfection.
ETA2: Arang and the Magistrate! OK Shin Min Ah is in an awful lot of these...

So what’s Argyros’ personality like?? And what’s her backstory, if you don’t mind sharing? I know I’m pretty late to this but man the design is SO cool and I’m invested
Tumblr media
Here's a fresh Argy doodle to go with the answers!
The personality: They're carefree, highly social, sometimes a bit too direct, and quite flirty. She craves human (in a broad sense) connection and she's highly social. Which means Argy is absolutely thriving right now as they're just studying medicine at the moment.
They came with quite a lot of medical knowledge and studying is an attempt to try to know why did they even have that in their database and personality. It's almost a bit of an obsession: She feels the need to study every little bit that makes up flesh-based lifeforms, because she feels they're far too fragile. Argyros is caring to an uncomfortable degree at times, but it comes from their need to ensure everyone is in perfect condition.
They're more than happy to help heal a wound and maybe study you a bit on the way. And their skills as a healer are quite good, even if having a dozen eyes and a giant halo on you can be a bit overwhelming.
Despite his fairly open attitude, he speaks little of his concerns or worries, and does rarely share any detail about his more personal thoughts. There's definitely something wrong with them, but there's just one person they've talked about this. Despite how much Argyros love putting others back together, they keep themselves quite private.
The backstory: I can't really share all that much since it's spoilery for my fellow players (as she's gonna be a NPC in a Pathfinder 2e game), but she basically has not much of an idea about it herself. She was suddenly aware of existing one day, and had some memories and knowledge, but no exact idea of where were they made, and for. Trying to find a place to fit in was hard, and trying to search for answers was even harder: It seems there is something actively trying to not let them do so.
They're not entirely sure where does their divinity come from either. It's not unusual for people to be born with extraplanar influences, but Argyros was either created or infused with that divinity. But she doesn't know who or why, and isn't too willing to admit that they just have no clue. One of the main party members is gonna be a proper celestial, and I'm sure they'll be a bit of at odds about this!

was rereading some of your posts for everyone bleeds red and GOD i am so invested in the potential of tanjirou and nezukos dynamic with ume and gyutaro, especially since gyutaros going to be on the mugan train at the same time as those two which means umes definitely gonna come out to help fight the two different kizuki and god the reaction and potential resentment of nezuko seeing the corps allow a full fledged demon to live even if its as a tool of the corps is gonna HURT. (and potentially lead to more internalized guilt because they werent going to kill her family until she rebeled against the corps. maybe theyd have let them all live if she just laid down and died like a good demon.) and tanjirou seeing a demon who presumably doesn't eat humans which given his reluctance and dislike of killing humans is definitely gonna strike some kind of cord in him beyond just the relating and wanting to help them immediately. also VERY interested in how the various demons will respond to ume, will they respond to her with the same 'filthy traitor' perception that the canon demons responded to nezuko with? i can imagine like all of them being pissed off at how shes muzzled and kept hidden away in a box for her 'protection' by her older sibling, unable to truly make her own decisions. (and won't that strike a cord with tanjirou and his own relationship with nezuko rn) and makomo, kyojurou or nezuko are definitely going to tell tamayo about ume and that begs the question, if tamayo knew about the traitor demon who hasnt eaten a single human, and didn't tell anyone, and how that'll rock the relationships around her. or if she didn't know about ume, what she's going do now that she does know about the full fledged demon girl (who she didn't know about being turned in the first place, so shes definitely one of kagayas demons) being used as a weapon for the corps. also in tanjirous eventual seeking out gyutaro to try and help him potentially revealing that gyutaro is doumas student, and if tamayo or any of the other kizuki caught wind of this and connected the dots, essentially paint a target on gyutaros back as the first lead on kanaes killer they've found in years. (and if douma has the same 'if ume eats someone i'll commit seppuku' rule for bringing her into the corps that giyuu had, which even if he does the likelihood of follow through on enforcing that isnt high but if its at least there for appearances, could lead to shinobu (or one of the other kizuki) trying to get ume to finally eat someone because its working towards finally getting to do something to hurt kanaes killer. and its doing the poor girl a favor, getting her out of the hands of the corps and finally giving her a proper meal after being starved for so long (potential mitsuri kinship) itd be a win win for everyone involved, really) and GODD im obsessed YOUR AU IS SO INTERESTING AND I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT MORE YOU DO WITH ITT. sorry if this ask is rambely or too much or any of the questions are too spoilery for you to answer (which is 100% understandable) your writings are just so INTERESTING they make me shake with excitement
Hehe don't ever apologize for this kinda thing I looooove it!! (Sorry it took me a bit to answer, it's been a busy couple of days). Also, as a general rule of thumb, I'm more than happy to spoil things lol There are very few events in a couple fics that I fully intend to keep entirely hidden until those scenes happen, but for the most part, I'll spoil anything lol I love talking and also I personally enjoy spoilers for things haha So yeah! I'll do my best to answer!!
Fun little thing about the roleswap, it was a project I originally started for two reasons. The first being character studies for the Hashira (which was what all their backstory pieces were initially about, and you can definitely still see that influence in a lot of them). The second was to examine the parallels between Tanjiro and Nezuko and Gyutaro and Daki. It just... spiraled horrendously.....
That's to say that I'm also ecstatic for them to start interacting
Their first interactions are actually before the mugen train incident! They initially meet on Mt. Natagumo during that conflict. They're very brief encounters, but that is what makes them aware of each other's existence. Mt. Natagumo is an extremely messy conflict between a group of slayers, a group of demons not truly affiliated with Tamayo, and then Nezuko and co. During that meeting, they don't really process a lot about each other. Rui actually holds most of the Kamados' attention here, but they take note of Gyutaro and Ume
It's during the mugen train when they genuinely start to realize things about each other.
Nezuko still largely ignores them. She's too focused on Akaza and the fact that he is gunning for Makomo's head (and he very, very nearly succeeds). Tanjiro is the one who really zones in on Gyutaro, and starts to process the implications of him having a demonic sister and working for the Corps. It's mostly just.... immediate projection on his part. He comes to all these conclusions about them being forced to work for the Corps like his family was, but there's also those complicated emotions regarding the fact that Ume clearly isn't... eating people. There's a demon out there that isn't eat people. Yes, she's muzzled, the situation can't exactly be good. But... it's possible. And Nezuko has adamantly refused to even consider ceasing the cannibalism.
Once Nezuko does actually process the existence of Ume after the chaos of the mugen train (yk, Akaza almost killing Makomo, Kyojuro almost kill Akaza, Akaza learning she's a demon and freaking the fuck out), like you predicted. She is.... hurt, but mostly enraged. After her partial transformation during the Final Selection, as soon as the Corps finds her struggling through the wisteria, they immediately decided she needed to die. It was never considered that she could still work for them, still deserve to live. Why did she immediately get written off while Ume was allowed this? If it had been allowed, her family would still be alive. Tanjiro never would have had to train to become a slayer. What was so bad about her? Well, unluckily for Nezuko, she had no Hashira to argue for her like Gyutaro and Ume did (because Akaza doesn't count and also didn't know), and she was written off as a lost cause because of how... volatile she was.
As far as her feelings on Ume herself, she mostly just... pities her. Because while Nezuko is angry she was never given a chance and a choice, she is glad it never happened because she's happier with the Kizuki and is reveling in her hatred of the Corps. She pities both Ume and Gyutaro, but in a really... condescending way. The fact that they lowered themselves to groveling to the Corps, Ume starving herself and allowing herself to be muzzled... it's pathetic! (No one ask her if her anger is a front for anything else, why would it be?)
This ultimately leads to Tanjiro projecting heavily on them, desperately trying to "save" them to prevent another family tragedy, while Nezuko resolutely ignores them and the path they represent.
As far as the Kizuki as a whole, it varies. Most of them are disgusted about the muzzling, but don't think too deeply about her. She represents the direction that the Corps is trying to go with tamed demons, but they were already aware that was happening. Nezuko and Zenitsu have already proven that. She's just the first... genuine success. A sobering thought, but not the worst thing the Corps has ever done. It's difficult for most Kizuki to hate them anymore than they already do. But admittedly, the Kizuki who have siblings are a bit more sympathetic to them... Kyojuro, Shinobu, and Sanemi especially have some really complicated feelings, though they keep it to themselves for the most part
As soon as Tamayo is told about Ume, she almost immediately figures out that she must be a demon of Kagaya's. She can't find any proof of Ume's existence within the (frankly massive) hive mind, not even an old broken link. That raises a lot of questions.... because one thing about Kagaya was that he did not want to turn more demons. So why has he suddenly turned one now? Why is she with the Corps? There had to be a point, but what?
It's due to this that Tamayo encourages Tanjiro to try and connect with Gyutaro and Ume. She frames it as being supportive of him and sympathetic to their situation, but really she just wants more information on them, and Tanjiro seems like the person most likely to get through to them
Ultimately if Gyutaro and Ume fled the Corps, they'd be welcomed with open arms. Many Kizuki know the feeling of trying to get out of the Corps and how difficult that can be and all the complicated feelings that go along with it. It's just that, Gyutaro especially, is vehemently against any type of help and distrusts it and hates it and is angry and spiteful and and and—
Which.... causes issues for him and Ume.
But Ume is viewed much more sympathetically by everyone. She seems to have no autonomy, she's starving, she's very young, it's easy for many of the Kizuki to want to help her, especially the members that have big soft spots for kids
As far as Gyutaro technically being Douma's tsuguko, it is eventually found out (via Akaza lol good job for revealing that one buddy). Certain demons want to use that somehow (I'm sure you can imagine who...). But it's also been realized that Gyutaro is like. never with Douma (his saving grace, I can't lie). But that's just another motivator for trying to convince them to turn traitor. Then they'll turn on Douma and potentially reveal information on him, mostly places he can be found
The fact that Douma is currently public enemy number one for the Kizuki is something he is entirely unaware of, btw. But also lucky for him, he's not expected to commit seppuku if Ume snaps. He has no real emotionally attachment to them, this is an experiment for the Corps, if it fails, it fails, and they'll kill Ume and Gyutaro. Douma gets off with no consequences
I hope this answers some of your questions! And ofc I'm always happy to clarify some anything :3 I'm so excited for Gyutaro and Ume to genuinely show up in the fics, it's gonna be sooo much fun

Skeletwins AU Theme Songs
Part 1: The Characters!
(All of them are songs I actually have in my playlist hehe)
Sans - Upside Down by Jack Johnson
Lighthearted, fun, positive and invoking a sense of nostalgia, I thought this song was perfect for Skeletwins!Sans. Curious George was one of my favourite movies growing up, but nowadays this song tends to make me think of what my version of Sans was like before the incident: inquisitive, happy and full of childlike wonder. He still has that childlike wonder inside of him, though it's sometimes overshadowed by more negative stuff that happens in his life. But in his purest, happiest form, this is Sans.
Papyrus - Almost There from The Princess and the Frog
If Skeletwins!Papyrus was a Disney Princess, he'd be Tiana with a little bit of Rapunzel mixed in. He's very ambitious and driven, and when he sets his heart on something, he will stop at nothing to get it. In his case, he wants to be a Royal Guard, but as we all know, he secretly craves friendship. He can be rather serious, but he's a giant goofball, no doubt. Overall, I just think it's the perfect song for him.
Alphys - Dark Side by Kelly Clarkson
I don't know how, I don't know why... But I think of her every time I listen to this song. I can imagine her singing this to Undyne or Asgore or Sans or anyone she cares about, being unsure if they even want to stay with her with all her flaws and weaknesses... It just suits her.
Undyne - Warriors by Imagine Dragons
I dare you to listen to this song and TELL me this doesn't suit Undyne! I DARE YOU! THIS IS HER! I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS, THIS! IS! HER!
Asgore - It's Quiet Uptown from Hamilton
I can easily imagine Asgore in Alex's place in this song, and Toriel in Eliza's. I don't know, I just feel like this is something Asgore wishes he could do with Toriel... to try and get her back... And of course there's the whole vilomah thing they both got going on...
And the characters who appear later on under the cut! This might be a bit spoilery for my story...
Mettaton - Applause by Lady Gaga
Do I even need to explain?
Napstablook - Sat On The Floor by Caleb Hyles and Illymation
I can just imagine Napstablook and Shyren singing this in a studio together. It's practically perfect for them both, really! Too bad Shyren doesn't appear all that much in my story. But Napstablook does, so that's something!
Toriel - I'm gonna need help with this one. I don't have a song that could accurately describe her! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Flowey - Insane by Black Gryph0n and Everything At Once by Lenka
Flowey gets two songs because they show two sides of him. Insane because it really only makes me think of Flowey when I hear it! I think of it as Flowey's descent into darkness and sadism coming out to play when I hear this song! As for Everything At Once, well... I interpret it as Flowey wanting to try literally everything to try and fill the void left in him, since he's soulless and everything. He wants to do everything, be everything so he could FEEL something again. There will be a chapter covering this at some point once he's introduced.
Chara - Rock In God's Shoe by Sushi Soucy
At first I was debating giving this one to Frisk, but I think it suits Chara's nihilistic mindset even more. My version of Chara isn't necessarily good or necessarily evil. They're more like... Well, they're Chara. Someone who doesn't lean towards one way or the other, and I think this song describes their mindset and their character in this AU at the same time, so that's great!
Frisk - The Main Character by Will Wood
This is my version of Frisk in a nutshell. Imagine if a goofy kid who had little to no control over the bad things that happened in their life suddenly got literal godlike powers. THIS is just the consequence of that. Honestly, thinking about Frisk pains me because I WANT TO WRITE THEM SO BAD, I KNOW THEY'RE GONNA BE SO MUCH FUN TO WRITE BECAUSE OF THE CHARACTERISATION I HAVE FOR THEM, but I CAN'T! Because... They don't appear until the fourth part... Gosh darn it. At least there's this song...
H I M - Everything Stays by Rebecca Sugar
I don't know how to explain this one. I think it's more like everything surrounding him than anything. Or I can imagine him singing this to Sans and Papyrus at some point. Either way...

I just wanted to say I am so enamoured with Binary Insurgence! I eat up everything, every little crumb, you drop about it and the entire idea is so interesting to me! I'm so in love with stories and worlds like this! I'm also curious to know about the relationship between Sun and Moon, if it's alright to ask. How was it before the fire compared to after? Does their relationship begin to mend (because I'm certain over the years it deteriorated) when y/n comes back into the picture? If any of this is too spoilery or you just haven't fleshed it out yet then you don't have to answer! I'm just super curious about the boys and how you see their dynamic/relationship. I just look forward to seeing how their bond has grown and/or broken and how it may be mended over time.
AHH im glad you like it so much!! Im happy to talk about what i've got, but you are right not everything is fully fleshed out. I have points i wanna get to but while im brainstorming and planning i make up a lot of stuff as i go and then go over it again later to see if i like it or can connect stuff in any way. I have 3 chapters for Arc 1 fully summarized as of now! (Which probably doesn't seem like a lot but i like my chapters long, so it's quite a bit actually).
I wanna say, too, that i'm planning for the first story to be more in the perspective of the reader, so most things about Sun and Moon's personal thoughts and feelings are gonna be more implied than said. I might have some switching points of view, i'm not sure, but i haven't found a place i'd do it or think it's relevant. The sequel is gonna be more from their perspective since it'll mostly be about them.
NOW! I see Sun and Moon as brothers, so they really treat each other in a way that's like that. Before the fire they get along pretty well. Most instances of issue would be when Moon blocks out Sun when he fronts, or just mutual panic over the fact Moon lost his shit w/ the virus. They'll have their disagreements about things (i havent planned specifics yet) but generally they're chill. Sun just worries about Moon hurting people, but Moon worries too. With the way the virus functions in this AU it's hard for Sun to fully fault Moon for what he does, especially because he's also affected by it but not nearly as bad. (I'm gonna explain this more in another ask i have).
Plus, even before the virus they were always glitch/bug-ridden because technicians fucked up their programming continuously after removing them from the theater to work in the daycare. So they had to kinda navigate through that together, glitches and errors on both ends (though not deadly). They hate P&S bc of this, obviously. Hardware fixes suck but they fucking HATE software examinations.
Later on though some issues come into play whenever Sun starts getting worse by being further exposed to the virus (it gets worse for him when they eclipse) because it presents itself in Sun differently than it does Moon. He gets snappier and angrier at times (that comic i made that's captioned "well someones snappy") and while they both understand he doesnt mean the shit he does it's still not great. And nobody's gonna just let themselves be talked to like a dog even if the reason it's happening is because of something the other person can't really help. They're still relatively fine at this point, though.
It's at the end when shit goes really bad, because this part of the story does end badly. I won't spoil specifics but after the fire Sun loses his shit. He starts trying to put the blame on Moon for everything (the virus enhancing his already bad habits/fucking with his line of thinking) out of grief and anger. That carries over into the apocalypse and he just gets worse in general. He gets irrational.
It's a long period of time though, so he eventually also manages it, in his own way. But! I did say before in an ask that in the sequel he's "not evil, persay, but he's a fucking nut". He damns Moon to an hourglass to just fucking get rid of him about 100~ years before they meet you again (he fully thinks he's in the right for this (and he also just hates him) and the only reason he really even stayed around after that was to make sure Moon didn't get out again). He's not a bad-intentioned individual, but he's off the fucking wall at many times bc of the virus having made him worse. He's stubborn as all hell to an infuriating degree, he's irrational, hard-headed, reckless, and while a good bit of his old, kinder self is still pretty prevalent he can be downright fucking mean if provoked. Again, worse than before, and it doesn't take much these days! I always imagined him to have more dramatic, snappy, diva aspects to his personality (even before Help Wanted 2 came out) bc hes so theatrical and intense, so basically take a Sun that's like that, crank it up to 100 and put him in a Bad Situation. That's what Round 2 Sun is like at his worst. He's not a complete lost cause though, and he's far from dumb when he does stuff, just clouded by his own judgement. He doesn't think anything's wrong with him (or does he?).
Moon doesn't really hate him like Sun hates Moon, because although he knows that what happened (the ending of the first story) is technically both of their faults he just feels guilt. They do fight a lot, though. Most of it is Moon trying his best to tell Sun that he's basically full of shit and not seeing things right after Sun starts something, but Sun's at the point where he's gotta learn by consequence. Part of the reason he's so bad is bc 1: hes been infected by the virus for so long now and 2: in his grief, anger, and resentment he's learned to live with it rather than fighting it.
But the sequel is gonna be a feel-good story! Falling in love w/ the reader all over again, i want things to get cleared up - or at least some kind of middle ground between Sun and Moon - the whole sha-bang.

My Devil Fruit encyclopedia poster was reposted on Pinterest without credit, which is annoying, but mostly what makes me angry is that the comments section underneath it is full of people saying "did bro even watch One Piece? that one devil fruit-" And I'm trying to stay vague here because I don't want to spoil anyone, but I designed that poster with a specific discrepancy BECAUSE i knew i was gonna sell it at conventions and i didn't want random passersby to get spoiled for something that isn't revealed until THE MILLIONTH EPISODE. And don't get me wrong, people are generally extremely complimentary of the poster, they love it! Other people on pinterest loved it too! But the next condescending ipad kid who thinks I didnt watch One Piece because I MADE A DELIBERATE CHOICE to miscategorize A Certain Spoilery Devil Fruit in my massive devil fruit encyclopedia poster is getting killed with hammers.

I will fully say, I was rooting for Ben for (almost) the entire season, with a brief Sam session during the airport affair. The rest of this post is gonna be mostly ranty and quite spoilery in expressing just some of my thoughts of this season and a lot of these thoughts are very rough draft since I just barely finished the episode so continue at your own peril...
First of all, I will agree with quite a few comments I have seen that there are some moves Sam made that with the power of hindsight, I certainly would have done differently. All that being said, I will argue that I do not think it was inherently a bad move to discard Curse of the Jammed Door before using it solely because I do think even if he used that card instead of prioritizing time bonuses, it would not have won him the game, or bring him close. I think was messed things up for him more was probably not planning out a stronger out from his initial hiding zone, but depending on train schedules and it being 6 days into the game, I don't inherently blame him for taking the first train out, since he had no idea when the other two were going to get there, and them heading in that direction could change his plan of direction out of that zone. Back to the Curse of the Jammed Door situation thought. Even if it took Ben and Adam 2-3 times to get into a train door, they're in the Tokyo area, and near a major train hub. They were able to switch between trains very quickly, and even though I think Sam could have played it for a greater time bonus before he got more cards that would make him more nervous to discard, ultimately this would not have won him the game because of how frequent the trains are. I would also argue that because Ben and Adam have to leave the train station to ask any questions, Curse of the Jammed Door could have been a good play, BUT, that would have given them more opportunity to find strong questions in the area they could ask. If they were delayed from entering a train station for 15-30 minutes, they could have, for example, asked for a strava map and figured out his town while waiting to roll the dice again, and although once again, I do agree that this curse would've given Sam a very strong time bonus, it would not have been the time bonus to push him into the lead, so I do think in that moment, that it might make sense to try to prioritize time bonuses. I certainly think too much and I would probably be like "hey if it worked for Ben, it could be a good strat for me," but obviously I'm not in the mindset of Sam so I can't understand his line of thinking at the time. Regardless, as badly worded as this is, I do not think Curse of the Jammed Door would have been helpful to win. It would have had a good chance of getting past Adam's score, however.
There's also the veto situation, and I do think Sam should have probably played a veto if he wanted to prioritize time bonuses solely because next time Ben and Adam played a tentacles, for example, he could've gotten double and gotten more cards. That being said, I do think it was frustrating not seeing more veto use, but I really do not see them as being super powerful towards the end game unless you are banking on the luck of a really good, low risk curse, or time bonuses. I could be horribly wrong. This is the first time we've seen a complete run with this new deck, so we don't know the full potential of a lot of these different cards. I will say, overall, I don't think Sam inherently threw because the game was, in all likelihood, not his to win. I do think potentially a better path out of his initial zone would have been smart, but I'm not well-versed enough on Tokyo train stations to see how far he could have gotten in 60 minutes. I think not playing the vetoes and the Curse of the Jammed Door were smaller mistakes that did cost him but I would argue didn't throw the game. I say this again too because even if Sam vetoed tallest building and then tentacles, he would then be out of vetoes, and they could've asked strava and another tentacles and it would've made things harder, but not in a way for Ben to lose.
I could be very wrong in a lot of ways since this is purely my reaction after watching the episode, and I do think to fully get a grasp of my opinions on this (which very well might change), will require me to watch the season back to back again knowing what happened. I will almost always root for Ben, but I will minorly defend Sam in some of the moves this episode. At the end of the day, it's a high stakes game that requires a lot of planning and other factors and I have been in situations where I am out of it to a level of traveling and moving around a lot for 6 days, so I can put myself a bit more in the shoes of I would make way more mistakes than Sam in this case so I can admit they're mistakes but I don't think some of the mistakes threw the game, when it wasn't Sam's game to win (in all likelihood). When I saw Sam pull the move last week, in my head I was like "at minimum, this card could save him like 3 hours," and I do think he highlighted the power of that card, and I do think despite his insane luck, it could have been played better. Even if this is a game where sometimes luck can determine so much, I think Ben played the best strategy-wise, and he certainly deserved that win. I think if Sam optimized his strategy with the great cards he got, he could've gotten very far. I am not convinced unless I have a better understanding of the train schedule out of his initial zone, that he could have won the game. If he could have, it's ultimately the planning of exit that potentially made him lose, than the lack of playing the curse and vetoing. That being said, Ben and Adam asked a lot of their good questions and I am mostly typing this rant out of a lot of post-reaction stress, so what do I know?
I think in retrospect, I'll probably rethink a lot of the stuff I said here, but I stand by some of the stuff, and other people can disagree. At the end of the day, depending on how far he could have gotten away, there's a chance Sam could have won, but I wonder if he really could've with the time he had left. There is also the question of when the day ends vs when they caught him and stuff like that.
On another side note, I do not think Sam threw by not realizing the Google Maps stuff. Sure, you can get a different app. but having to have different apps across different shows to optimize success, plus you're recording and all of that, I'd argue it's best to stick to one and two transit sources that you can use across transportation options (whether this involves walking, flying, trains, etc.) But that's related to a different episode and doesn't really matter.
I have procrastinated way too much on hw on this insanely long rant that I will probably regret. I've also made myself sound like a huge Sam fan which is funny given how stressed I was watching this episode with how much I wanted Ben to win, but those are just a couple small thoughts about the season finale that I think will change within the next couple of days but whatever it's fine.

I was talking to my dad yesterday about fallout new Vegas for around an hour straight, and mentioned I was planning on playing fallout four sometime, cause my copy of fallout sometimes gets a glitch for an hour that just resolves itself later, and he, while playing fallout four, basically BEGGED me not to play fallout four LMAO
it's so funny to me cause he bought me fo3, fnv, and fo4 and I started on nv and I'm apparently making him want to start nv again every time I ramble about it because he, quote, "would not be playing it [fo4] if there weren't mods"
probably still gonna try it eventually, but I doubt I'll love it as much as I love new Vegas (partly just cause I reallllyy love new vegas. also hi to my sister who followed me for some reason. why did you do that? now you just get sick of me talking about fnv in real life and online/lh)
but new vegas's level of detail is insane to me. all the little character interactions. like, a large majority of the groups/types of NPCs who aren't currently hostile have custom dialogue for when you aim your sights on them. I wouldve never thought that there'd be stuff for that. for scientific reasons, y'all should put a gun to y'all's companion's heads LMAOO. but there's seriously so much fucking detail. like, you can just absolutely fucking fail a stat check and still try to say it and you'll just say it like a fuckin loser. there's so much to explore, like the other day I found the mountainy area with the super mutants on accident. I saw there was an area on the map without any places id discovered, and I was like "y'know what? lemme go check that out." and when I saw TREES for the first time, I was absolutely thrilled. the storytelling in the locations is awesome (and occasionally very heartbreaking) too. gonna put this under a read more line cause it's spoilery for some lore, some of it is sad, and also this post is already long
for example, this is like a stupid one, but apparently the entire H & H tool company was FUCKING. if you read through the terminals, you not only get perhaps one of my favorite lines ever, which is
Tumblr media
but you also see multiple people making emails that say something along the lines of "I told X I needed to do something. bring the moon rocks and dino head grabber ;)" (not an actual quote, but the objects are just as ridiculous)
AND THERES LIKE THREE OF EM AND THEY'RE ALL CHEATING ON THEIR WIVES/HUSBANDS WITH AN OFFICE AFFAIR PARTNER WHILE ALSO CHEATING ON THEIR OFFICE AFFAIR PARTNER.
this is probably the saddest/most disturbing one, but there's a vault that was overrun by spores that infected the residents, vault 22. I was finally getting somewhere, and I found a room with a key card in it. yay!
it was a bedroom. there was a baby carriage in the room. there were two spore carriers (essentially plant zombies) which I killed, then kept looking through the stuff in the room. there was a type of spore person I hadn't seen before that jumped out of me. it was called a runt. IT WAS THE FUCKING KID. after I killed it I just spent 7 minutes or so just staring at my screen cause. what the hell.
the empty houses are so haunting to me too. like all the different junk items strewn around tell a story if that makes sense. like, toy boxes, or houses with absolute loads of empty alcohol bottles in them. it's weirdly haunting.
nipton is also such a haunting location, obviously with the crucifixions and all. going into the houses and figuring out the legion bombed the fuckin bodies was so horrifying and interesting. according to my dad, they do stuff like that in real life in wars sometimes.
there's just SO MUCH STUFF idk how to put it all into words
play fallout new vegas guys

ok i just saw this while going thru the tags and i need to yap with someone about it but. opinions on [HEADCANON] different ethnic groups strewn throughout Zhou, but mostly Libei and Bianjun and potentially some of the characters being from different ethnic backgrounds than most people in Qudu might be.
I made a post abt it and I'm only in book 2, I don't mind spoilers related to this topic I just want to talk about this headcanon and its possibilities. canon universe but not related to plot-ish?
Anyways I'd like to hear your thoughts!!
This is such a fun topic! I will say that I am unfortunately unfamiliar with specific ethnic groups to draw one-to-one or inspirational correlations, but I am a fan of the idea that each prefecture/region has different sub cultures. Though I feel it's impossible not to have diversity when you're dealing with an empire as large as Dazhou/Great Zhou.
Much like real life, the land the prefectures and cities reside on greatly affects the society of the people who live there. I love the world building in general. When it's mentioned that some characters hide their dialects after moving to Qudu for official positions, it serves as a reminder for how big the nation really is.
I will try not to be too spoilery, but to make up for my ignorance, I would like to go into some of the silly things I remember from each region of Dazhou/ Great Zhou~
Libei is hands down my favorite. The residents are badass, but on top of that, Libei is known for it's grasslands and mountains. So naturally (light pun intended), the people that grew up/choose to live there are very in tune with nature and care for animals. They do not play when it comes to their horses. They're also know for their skilled craftsmen and they take great pride in their work. I love to see it. I could honestly make an entire brainrot post on Libei and their values, but I really want you to read and experience it for yourself. It's really interesting and sweet in my opinion~
Next is Qudu: I hate these people. I could go on about these weirdos forever, but it is truly so jarring going from three volumes with Qudu as the main setting, to all the other places. Obviously, bad things tend to happen where the elite congregate, but jeez. If you're not rich, it sucks to be in Qudu. Even the well meaning imperial officials are serving cult. It's honestly humorous how much people outside of Qudu could not care less about who the emperor is. To give them a little grace, I suppose Qudu is considered the center of education. Qudu is home the Imperial College, which is a place quite a few side characters mention trying to get into. ...But the students there are INSANE, so I can't take them seriously. Qudu scares me. Moving on.
Juexi is known for it's port , merchants, and it's granaries. Very straight forward. I'm honestly a little sad we didn't get to learn more about it. I feel like if I were to live anywhere in this empire, it would be in Juexi. The Biansha ain't gonna get me, plenty of job opportunities, and life just seems pretty chill. Except when they have natural disasters, but that's okay. The characters we meet from Juexi are pretty normal, which also affects my overall positive opinion of it. Cool place.
Qidong is mostly desert...I think? We eventually go to a Qi Clan estate and I was genuinely shocked to realize people actually lived there lmao. A lot like Libei, the people that live there are mostly military families. If you aren't joining the Qidong Garrison Troops, why are you here? I don't remember too too much about Qidong, but from the few things I do, I got the vibe that the men are very macho and really value their legacy. One of the main conflicts surrounding Qi Zhuyin is the fact that she can't get an official title, and the reason that's important is because all of her military achievements won't be recorded in history without one. And while every region values legacy to an extent, the way each one differs in the intensity of that importance makes a huge difference in my opinion. I feel like the people in Qidong are much more individualistic compared to the other prefectures, but the topic is nuance I think.
Finally, we have Zhongbo! Now, Zhongbo is interesting because we get to read the prefecture go through many manifestations. We get to see it after the massacre. We hear what life was like before the tragedy. We see it slowly change for the better and what the characters hope for it to become. Before Juexi took over as the "nations granary" after Zhongbo's fall, Zhongbo provided most of the military provisions to Qidong and Libei. We learn a lot about Zhongbo over the course of the story. And once again, I don't want to spoil much, but I will say the people from there tend to really value their family. Obviously everyone cares about their family in the story...well... most of them... anyhoo. But there's something about the way family and relationships are discussed by those in Zhongbo that really resonates with me. I feel like the reason family is an especially sacred topic in Zhongbo is because so many people lost theirs in the Biansha attack. And that grief over the years transformed into really holding onto those they have left. I don't know how to articulate it, but I think it's very beautiful how a lot of my favorite romantic moments happen in the various cities Zhongbo~ Residents in Zhongbo tend to be really resilient. A lot of terrible stuff happens there, and as a woman, I would never willingly go there. But the people who care about their fam care about them HARD! It's really nice. But seriously, it's still a nightmare there.
And because I can't help myself, mini bonus: The Twelve Tribes of Biansha!!! Okay, I won't actually go into every single tribe, but I adore the detail the author put into them! While, overall, they share some values, each tribe has their own thing going on and intertwined history. I love how they weren't just a "mindless evil enemy", but another group of humans with their own wants and needs. Their reasons for fighting are just as valid as Great Zhous! And both sides have done evil crap to "win" so I'm even less inclined to "pick a side". The world building in this story is just too good man. I'd love to one day read a spin off if the author ever felt like it njsduegfi
I don't know if this quite what you meant, but I sure did yap a lot ToT
Thank you for the ask. I went to read your original post and thought it was really fun! Other readers of this post, you can find it here!!!

Didn't want to add this to the other ask, but you mentioned disliking the feeling you're giving too much away before the story truly took off so i wanted to make sure i wasn't needling you too much if the topic (any topic really, I analyze a lot of stuff so i will run across a few big topics you might want to keep hidden) is spoilery
I'm not trying to make you uncomfortable or give you a dilemma again on how much of the lore is being given away! Please don't hesitate to refuse answering asks that go too much into stuff you want to keep hiding ^^
-🦜, and again, thank you so much for the incredible story you're creating!!
dw!!!! theres stuff i dont mind answering or explaining in detail, esp so bc im scared im too confusing or bad at telling/implying things for ppl to get. and whenever theres things i wanna keep (like azais plans, etcetc) i usually just ignore or say im not gonna answer !
i rlly have to thank you for all your messages so far honestly, seeing you (or ppl in general) theorize about my own story and asking things out of genuine interest makes me incredibly happy and rlly boosts my mood lately, so rlly thank you so much for the asks/interest !!!!! <3

What exactly you didn't like in new da, if you don't mind asking? <3
Oof, where to start? There're quite a lot of things, not gonna lie, but most of them are spoilers so I'm going to stick to the non spoilery ones.
Let me begin by saying that I do like the game despite its clear flaws, and I understand that it must have been a tricky development with covid happening in between and a lot of important people who worked on previous games leaving. As a (somewhat of a) developer myself, I sympathise with that, but as a consumer I have to judge the end result I bought, and after waiting for a decade I just expected something more than what we got.
Putting my opinion under the cut because I get passionate about it. Hope you have time to spare, lol!
For starters, this game gets rid of the Keep and only has three choices to import. While most of the things in the Keep are not really important (especially since the game takes place in the north), that's already a bad start and rises serious concerns, mainly with the returning characters.
It also butchers half of the already existing lore, and contradicts another bunch of events that happened in previous games, like the Well of Sorrows. Harding talks about how the Inquisitor went to the altar of Mythal (which only happens if the Inquisitor drank from the Well), but then, during a conversation between Taash and Emmrich, they talk about how Morrigan turned into a dragon during the events of DAI (which only happens of she drank from the Well)
The pacing of the first half of the game is excruciatingly slow. There are a lot of parts that are there only to lengthen the game unnecessarily, and it can get very boring very fast.
The dialogues are... okay-ish, I guess? It's very obvious that they wanted to be socially correct. Way too much, in fact. They seemed so focused on being inoffensive that there’s little real conflict between characters or in the plot. There's a part where two characters apparently argue? Except that there's no real argument. I only knew because the game told me, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed because again, nothing really happened. And they were completely fine with one another after one conversation two minutes later.
All the companions feel rather dull to me, and some are incredibly annoying. For example, there was a series of quests regarding Solas that I enjoyed at lot, and the companions would get together to comment on it. It was a serious and very interesting subject, but then one of the characters would jump out of the blue to (try to) make some witty remark that only managed to take me out of the story.
Plus, the childish dialogue most of them have (all of them, really) doesn't help at all. Another problem of being socially correct in a game that's supposed to be dark. Most of the time, conversations with them feel more like talking to teenagers than adults.
And don't even get me started on how awful Taash's character is... And no, the problem is not their gender identity, but how it was handled. This ask I got about Albert/Lavina describes perfectly my problem with Taash.
Also, and this only happens with the spanish translation, why the fuck did they translate Harding's name? Why is the text calling her Encaje instead of Lace!? God, that pissed me off so much I ended up changing the text to english, lmao!
Lastly, what they did to some of the returning characters... Poor Isabela, smh. Thank goodness Morrigan doesn't have that big of a role, and that there's zero mention of the Warden and Hawke.
---
It's not as bad as I read in early reviews (thankfully!), and I'm still having fun with it. But I expected to get so invested that I'd end up making several runs like in previous games. Now I'm only playing once and probably forget about it for a long while. Hopefully when (if) I replay it I won't ditch it like I ditched my second run of MEA.
Anyway, TLDR: Mediocre at best. Good individual game, but pretty bad sequel. The only good thing this game does as a sequel is give those Inquisitors who romanced Solas a happy ending. That's pretty much it.
The name "Dragon Age" weights heavily on it. Probably the reason why I'm judging it so harshly.
Thanks for the ask, btw! That was entertaining xD Shame on me for spending more time writing this than a chapter of my story, lol!
