like before, unstructured mostly incoherent thoughts while i rewatch. disclaimer for people who don't like nuance: none of this is supposed to read as an excuse for the shitty things all of these women do, just my thoughts on where their mental states are during these moments. obvious spoilers for the s2 finale under the cut
will there be anything more heartbreaking than travis' happy 'natalie!' only for him to understand what happened
a little bit obsessed with the way van walks back to camp. half of liv's face is covered up and you only see their eyes, and it's just so??? everyone else can't look at travis or looks apologetic or even regretful, and van is trying so so hard to keep stoic that she's practically glaring and for a second her eyes cut to travis, and whew liv hewson the actor that you are. now i'm even more upset they're sitting out of the emmy race because i think this is just the start of van's arc
'the wilderness chose' the way i audibly gasped when nat said this. it's the first time she's said anything about the wilderness being any kind of entity with power and it's certainly a way for her to try and assuage her guilt with travis because there's really no other option. to say anything otherwise is to admit that she let javi die in her stead and while she can admit that to ben, she can't admit that to travis
the way lottie just picked up that cup and was ready to throw it back.... homegirl is so ready to die and be free of all this and my heart hurts for her especially because we know so much of this trauma stems for what other people placed on her (and the way van and shauna were the ones to protest the loudest)
something about the way lottie is on her knees, looking up at shauna as shauna tries to stall and buy them time, and then how she goes in for a hug, which is so poignant given how simone said repeatedly that lottie puts physical distance between herself and shauna after the beating, but she's so fucking relieved that someone is (seemingly) believing her. like two things can be true at once: lottie is unraveling and going off the rails, and she's also a woman who has spent her entire life being called crazy and not being believed and that's the tragedy of it all
the way we were all clowning on shauna for being a shitty liar and she somehow manages to pull of the best lie all season, the jokes write themselves
i didn't notice this in my first watch but van's entire face during that scene speaks VOLUMES and lauren ambROSE THE ACTOR YOU ALSO ARE. from the moment that shauna reveals behind lottie's back that she's not actually believing her, and the look she gets on her face when tai 'agrees' and starts playing along. it's not agreement or acquiescence, it's discomfort and uncertainty about this plan. she is the only one who doesn't say anything while the rest of them are like "oh yeah, the hunt, we need masks and weapons and cards"
and after lottie leaves, they're all talking about what to "do" with lottie and start planning on committing her again, and you can see the coin drop for van. "this isn't just about her mental illness" like do you think van is reminiscing about the post-rescue, how they all abandoned lottie to be sent away to a mental institution to hold a majority of the blame for something that they all did? something that lottie didn't even choose to initially participate in?
and that literally spins right into the scene with young misty and lottie, where lottie outright says that she never wanted this. all she said was "if i die, don't waste my body". the others were the ones who decided to take that and turn it into the hunt, and i stand by the fact that's why van can't let this plan go on. the reality is that van was a key factor in all of this happening. she was one of the first to give lottie this kind of deference that she probably didn't deserve. she was the one who came up with the rules for the hunt. everyone else may have been able to convince themselves over the last 20 years that they all "got over it" but the whole show clearly depicts that they have not. that was the entire point of them hashing everything out in the sharing shack. they haven't healed, they haven't gotten over it, and locking up lottie isn't going to do anything for them other than be a bandaid
'why was travis screaming?' ugh she cares so much!! and misty twisting her words to the others, i 100% get it narratively, but god damn it makes me hurt knowing that this is what it spawns. misty understands that the others need lottie's blessing for the hunt because if they don't have it, this carefully-constructed facade they built up comes crashing down. if lottie says, no this is not what the fucking wilderness wanted, then they have to face the fact that the wilderness didn't choose, they did. and i fully believe misty did this to protect natalie, just like she protected natalie in the prior ep. because yes the others would break down, but natalie is already dealing with the guilt that she watched javi drown to save her own life, but then to hear that it's not actually what lottie meant? that would destroy the entire group so i GET it but also... i just hurt for lottie because she never asked for any of this.
"you started this. it's done" idk man, to say that she tried to get people to connect with nature in an attempt to keep people levelheaded in an extreme circumstance and that's what directly led to cannibalism? mm seems like a stretch but... the saddest part is that lottie believes misty when she says that. she believes that she is the cause for everything that's happened and that's so... heartbreaking for me because we as the audience know that's not the whole story. and i have to ask myself, how much of what happens in the adult timeline would be different if lottie had said "no this isn't right?" obviously then we probably wouldn't have much of a show, but to be able to see the different threads that lead to certain actions, it pains me that lottie is always suffering the brunt of it
the dried tear tracks on shauna's face during the butchering scene, god seriously emmy nominee sophie nelisse when?? like she is drowning in postpartum hormones, just suffered through a stillbirth, and now she has to carve up a boy that she had gotten somewhat close with. a boy she's had conversations with, maybe even a boy her son would've gotten along with if he had lived. and she's struggling so much. tai and nat don't really know what to do and it's van, again with both the pragmatic and the childlike, doing a simple act of turning his head away so shauna doesn't have to see. it prompts shauna to pull her headcover over her eyes. with jackie, they were delirious and hallucinating. there's no such comfort for this moment, not for any of them.
and once again, van cannot bring herself to look away. even when shauna tells them to leave, she lingers, watching the blood drain from javi because again, she owes at least that much to him.
"if she is, then so are you" the way van did not pull any punches with that line and the look on tai's face knows it. and i don't think she was manipulating tai here to try and save lottie, and i don't think she was trying to bargain with the wilderness to save her own life. i think she was calling the shots as she saw them. van has shown a resilience to death, but she also is ready to accept if things happen. after the wolf attack, she insists that tai let the others go back. she was fully accepting of her diagnosis when she spoke with tai a few episodes back. the others reveal that they have repressed their memories, enough that they're hazy and dreamlike, but van has always known what they've done. she may have run from it, but she's never forgotten it. and then she's sitting in the middle of the sharing shack, listening to how all of these people VERY CLEARLY still have elements of that darkness in them, how they never "got over it" like natalie claimed, and while denial can work for a time, van is tired of them clinging to that denial especially at lottie's expense
and at the end of that conversation, van calls back their pact, the same one that has linked them for years. shauna even alludes to it earlier. "it's just about us." "we handle this ourselves. we protect each other. didn't we all swear we would?" no one who wasn't there will ever be fully able to understand what they went through, and that is van's point. people can empathize without having to experience the same things, but this is so extreme, and something that has been festering for 25 years. and!! even if they do commit lottie, that literally does nothing re: the adam martin situation as far as they know! there's no way that van would've been able to know how things would play out, and i don't think that she actually wanted to participate in the hunt. i just think she wasn't ready to throw lottie away for the second time and let her take all the blame for something that their shared responsibility. van is making them look at the monster that they all had a hand in creating
something something natalie had the card first and then she brought it to shauna (not that she took it) but maybe that's the other way of 'choosing'?
jeff and callie daddy/daughter bonding over crimes, we love to see it
lisanat and natben parallels: the mentor telling the younger one that they don't have to be these people/they don't have to stay here. nat refusing ben's offer because of her guilt, but also her guilt being what pushes her to warn lisa to leave
that van and travis scene, just more of van being tired of dancing around what everyone already knows and telling it like it is. there is no room for guilt or shame in this moment because they can't afford for there to be. they are trying to survive, and human instinct on that front wins out over the emotional beats. van knows this especially well, just like natalie does. the two of them arguably understood long before this place that the world is cruel and the people who least deserve it are the ones who suffer. is it dark? absolutely, but it's fitting for where van's arc has been heading this entire time. she wants to live. she wants her friends to live. including travis. it's manipulative in many regards, but it's manipulating him to survive. for van right now, she has to believe in that. where she lands on that 20 years later, is another story
walter really was great ngl, i thoroughly enjoyed his scheming
i wonder what the heart was made of
i just have a lot of feelings about van's loyalty, misplaced as it may be. i think she would've done the same for tai, shauna, natalie, misty, any one of them if they were the ones in lottie's position. she has consistently reminded them over and over that this is not just lottie's mental illness, no matter how much they wish it was. they spent years pretending, but look at that, nothing has changed, so why continue throwing someone under the bus, someone you promised to protect? do i agree with her choice to continue on with the ritual and not tell the others about calling off the crisis team? not necessarily, i think that should've come out earlier, but at the same time, i understand why she feels so strongly about this and also natalie got jealous over walter again
but i do think the turning point came for van while they were standing around the fire. ptsd will evoke the same emotions and feelings that those original trauma memories held, and for this crew, that trauma is so complex. it's horrific what they had to go through, but also there was a freedom in it. there was something more grounding about life out there, at least for van who had a shitty home life and nothing she missed about wiskayok, and i think standing around that fire brought back those feelings of freedom for van. freedom from societal expectations, freedom from her diagnosis, freedom from the pain of having to suffer through this stagnant life. it's a heady feeling, and hard to fight against, and like van says in the younger timeline, she's not ashamed of wanting to live. i don't know if she's fully thought through the consequences of what it means to go through with the ritual, but i think she has found a glimmer of hope for the first time in 20 years and she can't bear to let it go. and as much as i hate to say this, i fear a part of her thought that the wilderness would take her because she was already living on borrowed time
the only thing i wish that had happened in this episode was that callie should've shot pornstache
those parallel looks from taivan in the card drawing scene hhhhhh and the little slump of relief that lauren gives, even though van's the one to prompt this. it's the exact. same. thing as 2x08
something about travis and misty both being the ones to pull the ace in the card drawing scenes and how they're left with massive survivor's guilt at the end of it
nat and misty both keeping their hands in their pockets, nat with her knife and misty with her syringe. we love murder gfs
okay but the second go around of the card draws, van is much... more hesitant, whereas tai is the one nodding? is that other tai? van's literally flinching as she draws the card and idk what to make of it
i also didn't notice this last night but during the card draw montage, they show shots of everyone drawing cards multiple times, but not van. like van draws a second time, they go around the circle, and then it skips from lottie to tai and everyone gets at least 1-2 more draws that we see, but we don't get one from van. i wonder if this is the show's way of subtly hinting that van would be safe this round? but who knows, it's just something i noticed
i really do think other tai is here in this moment. shauna draws the card and she goes straight for the masks and the knives, not even sparing a look for her best friend. maybe it was van's conversation earlier with tai that pulled her out? i feel like every time people reference adult tai getting help, an appearance by other tai is not that far off. perhaps this is other tai's way of saving van, but at the expense of real tai's relationships (like she's done with simone and sammy)? idk i'm just intrigued
"there was no it, it was just us." "is there a difference?" THE WAY I YELLED because this has been the ENTIRE POINT all along. it doesn't MATTER if there was something supernatural out there pushing along the way, or mental illness and trauma coming out at seams, or if it was just general teenage girl cruelty in a world that didn't live by society's rules? does it matter which it actually was? the consequences are still there, the actions were still made. people still died. pawning off that responsibility on some otherworldly being might work for a while, but everything since the start of the show has been repeatedly pressing the button that it's all gonna come out eventually. you can't repress these things without consequence
i see a lot of takes about how it was only van and lottie who were into the hunt but that.... is not really true. all of them were into it up until the point callie enters the picture. they were all running and whooping and i think that's critical to this. they all fall back into it, even if they want to say they're "over it"
"she's so powerful" baby daddy lottie matthews 🥰 but also just having heard about callie in the goat conversation, but her only frame of reference is a stillborn baby, but the she sees callie, righteous and indignant and yes, powerful. and she's honestly thrilled that shauna got that
"it's not right. she's like this because of us." THANK YOU VAN like yes lottie is literally going off the rails but they cannot just IGNORE the roles that they played to lead to this exact moment and the way lottie hears the wilderness again, going right into the scene where she crowns natalie as aq because she can't hear the wilderness anymore and everyone else does. it's coming back full circle and the way the narrative does this is so so good. she comes down, beaten and bruised and she doesn't even have to say a fucking word before they're all coming to her in relief and gladness and she's been stewing over this belief that she caused this. and she realized that what misty said in the attic, to some extent is true. the team needs her, or they believe they need her, and i think this is a moment of true lucidity and clarity for lottie, something stronger than the wilderness that has been whispering in her ear this entire time
storyteller van is so important to me. she's always been someone to fall into fictional worlds, to use stories as her coping mechanism. the others ask her to retell the synopsis of a movie and she instead chooses to begin telling the story of the wilderness. and it's just another coping mechanism. if she says 'once upon a time' and 'happily ever after' then that's what it is, right?
but lottie interrupts her because this isn't a story and this isn't a happy ending. and she voices for the first time that she never asked to be crowned the leader, and she's wondering whether she's completely misinterpreted everything. maybe what people say about her is true, and she is just crazy and someone that can't be trusted. and so she passes the torch to natalie. she still believes that the wilderness exists, but she believes that she's the wrong voice for it now. and maybe that's true. maybe she was necessary to get them the first step, but she's no longer the right leader for the job. passing the torch onto natalie is a nice idea, but the others only follow her lead because lottie insists on it. "you were always its favorite."
there is something about the reluctant leader who begrudgingly accepts admiration, and lottie and nat both fill that role. both of them are outsiders in some regards, opposite ends of those spectrum, but still two girls who grew up neglected by the people who should have cared for them the most. why wouldn't they appreciate people listening to them and paying attention to them? but with that comes the guilt that we see in both of them. it recontextualizes the way they talk earlier in the season. before i thought lottie acknowledging her role in the wilderness was just more of a growth thing, but now i think it directly ties into her passing that crown to natalie, as someone who intimately understands the burdens of it. and she finds natalie, 20 years later and ready to kill herself, and she has to save her. because she was part of the reason natalie lives with such guilt in the first place, and lottie is trying to own up to that.
i'm not overly going to get into what happened at the end of the episode as people have their own stances on it. i think that it narratively fit for natalie, especially in the context of the show. my main focus is that this is one of the few times in the series that natalie has agency and uses it for herself. she deliberately chose to step in between misty and lisa, because she's not willing to have another innocent person's death on her hands. natalie is well aware that death is inevitable, and often beyond our control, and i think that her making this deliberate choice is the type of ending the character would've wanted. she wants to believe in herself that she can be a good person, even when the rest of the world isn't, and she's been thwarted at every turn, and if anything, i like to think she found some peace in that final decision being hers.
last thing in this already way too long post: taivan's "we're gonna come check on you" to lottie. the naked terror in lottie's eyes, she knows exactly what she's destined for because it's what happened 20 years ago. and she doesn't know if she can believe them when they say they won't abandon her again. the difference now is that she hears the wilderness again. it's unclear whether it ever comes back to her in the rest of the 96 timeline, but again, talk about full circle.
i've honestly exhausted my last braincell watching this episode again so i know there's a lot more that i haven't fully touched on or parts that i want to dig into a little deeper, but in the meantime have this unnecessarily long post about the episode so i can maybe get some work done today.
friday morning means coffee + a rewatch of the latest ep. thoughts to follow here because somehow this ep was even more contentious than the last
#yj spoilers //#i'm gonna try and work on those starters later between work#this is... absurdly long but i'm a wordy bitch#this is really only for me#long post tw

PERCY JACKSON AND THE BATTLE OF THE LABYRINTH: STARTERS
a collection of quotes, phrases, and sayings from the 2008 Rick Riordan novel, Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth. change & alter as needed.
"I didn't get your full name last December when you tried to kill me."
"You don't know how hard it's been. For years, I thought I was going crazy. I couldn't tell anybody."
"Such a pretty little blade. What a shame it stands between us."
"Poor dear, you don't even know what's happening, do you?"
"You are in so much trouble! And you still owe me an explanation!"
"You're going to call me and explain, okay? You owe me that."
"Usually, she says hello by trying to kill me."
"Well, I had my doubts, but you clean up nicely, [name]. I'll remember that."
"You can blame my ADHD. I tend to just blurt things out."
"You will learn differently as you get older."
"Everyone stay alert, but stay calm. This has happened before."
"It's a good thing she finds cowards attractive."
"Come on. Let's worry about how we're going to stay alive."
"He had a crush on a blueberry bush once."
"Hey, your life's in mortal danger. Sleep tight!"
"Great idea! I'll get the dynamite!"
"Assuming you return to us in one piece, we shall discuss what to do next."
"You have to get better. Please."
"There's no way out, [name]. No way out."
"I'm breaking the rules. But I don't know what else to do."
"Don't worry about it. We've had plenty of problems before, and we solved them."
"He killed the water fountain last night."
"Sometimes, it is better to have someone you mistrust close to you, so that you can keep an eye on him."
"You're in charge now, my dear. All the decisions are on your shoulders. That's what you wanted, isn't it?"
"You will have to make your choice sooner or later. And the choice may kill you."
"One bad choice can ruin your whole life. It can kill you and all your friends. But no pressure, [name]."
"Usually, when gods come looking for you, it's not out of the goodness of their hearts. It's because they want something."
"Didn't you try to kill him, like, a lot of times?"
"Getting something and having the wits to use it... those are two different things."
"I have postponed your day of choice. I have not prevented it. Soon, as [name] said, you will have to make a decision."
"I have nothing to offer. I have lost everything."
"In case you haven't noticed, [name] believes in you. He risked his life for you."
"Get some rest, everybody. We'll keep going in the morning."
"You made a cute guinea pig."
"I'm sorry, [name]. I'm just stressed."
"Put that away, [name]. I ain't gonna have my guests killing each other."
"That man is wearing three shirts."
"You'd be surprised how many people will pay for a flesh-eating horse."
"[Name] likes to disappear when things get difficult."
"Don't do me any favors, [name]! I don't want your help!"
"I know who you are. And I know what you want. And the answer is no."
"Well, that's too bad! But it's not my problem."
"I hope the dead like root beer."
"You have nothing to apologize for, [name]. I made my own choice. I don't regret it."
"You're mad because I died and left you alone. I'm sorry for that, [name]. I truly am."
"You should not fear power, [name]. Use it."
"The world is dying, [name]. Every day it gets worse."
"Pass the test, and you get to advance! Fail, and I get to eat you!"
"Well, then, if I didn't smash you to a pulp the first time we met, I suppose I won't have to do it now."
"There'd better be a good reason you're disturbing me."
"Believe me, [name], you can't trust others. All you can trust is the work of your own hands."
"Try to stay alive, will you?"
"Splitting up is a really, really bad idea."
"Do you really want me to explain the exact details of how I was born?"
"Rest and heal. No harm will come to you here."
"As long as you're up, you can help me plant these."
"My friends need me. I know how to help them now. I have to get back."
"You are the single most annoying person I have ever met!"
"What's going on with you two? Have you been fighting?"
"Aren't your parents going to be worried if you're out late?"
"I could be gone a week and they'd never notice."
"You people are crazy."
"You shouldn't have spared me, [last name]. Mercy has no place in this war."
"[Name]'s not usually like this. I don't know what her problem is."
"Hey, I'm usually about to die. Don't feel bad."
"So you do this every summer? Fight monsters? Save the world? Don't you ever get to do, just, you know, normal stuff?"
"I regret what I did, [name]. I was angry and bitter. But I cannot take it back."
"Jumping out a window five hundred feet aboveground isn't usually my idea of fun."
"I didn't want you to die. I mean, just because, you know, you owe me too many favors. How am I going to collect if you die?"
"They must stop waiting for me to save them. I cannot."
"You have found me. And now you must release me."
"I know what you have seen today. I know your doubts. But I give you this news: when the time comes, you will not be ruled by fear."
"Your time is coming. You will play a great role, though it may not be the role you imagined."
"You are the strongest and the bravest. Your heart is true."
"You have believed in me more than anyone ever has."
"I don't like to talk about my family. I didn't want you to know. I'm sorry."
"See you later, [full name]. Go save the world for me, okay?"
"If we are to survive this, we must trust each other."
"Well, [name] seems to be growing up."
"I was beginning to feel better, so I thought I would talk with you a bit. You always manage to annoy me."
"You did something nice. Why?"
"The people in my village laughed at me. They said I would never amount to anything. Look at me now. Sometimes, small things can become very large indeed."
"When the time comes, I think you'll know."
"Come inside for cake and ice cream. It sounds like we've got a lot to talk about."

after ~23 years, my baby Blastoise and first ever partner from my old Blue cartridge is safe and sound in Bank!! ヾ(*´∀`*)ノ
spent the past two days after work painstakingly cloning my cartridge battery saves with a Joey Jr. device, recreating all of my Blue and Yellow pokemon in a gen3 Emerald rom, and then swapping back and forth between ROMs and official cartridges and DSes to transfer them up into Bank-- it was honestly much easier than I thought it would be and really scratched that kinda brain-itch for a solvable but systematic project, like "if X doesn't work then I'll do Y, and if not then I'll do Z, and if none of that works then we'll start again and try Xa or Xb" hahaha
unfortunately my Gold cartridges' battery died years ago and my copy of Crystal vanished one day long ago so I can't recover any of my gen2 team, but this was a resounding success for a first attempt! in the end I only have 5 pokemon left over that didn't pass through the legality check (three had obsolete characters in their name that I did change in PKXDelta, but I guess there's still something wiggy about them-- the other two were those in-game starter trades from Yellow that I tried something different with, weirdly it let the Charmeleon through fine though?? who knows)... but as ohana means family, I'm gonna spend the rest of today sorting out their issues so they don't get left behind :'D
aaaaand then to shuffle them all down into my living dex on SUMO and make a backup of the cartridge saves, so I have an offline backup in-case Bank magically shuts down before I can bite the bullet and shift them to Home...
UPDATE 1hr later lmao -- they're through!! the gang's all here :)
#haulaupost#I won't rest until they're all together agaaaaaaaain#justice for MR.?NIDO and MRS.?NIDO and PKMN.PKMN. and BULBA and SHELLSHOCK#three of them are various nidoran....... maybe it's just a nidoran thing to be problematic and sussy#actually I just looked into it and they all had tackle which is now not learnable lmao#I was definitely not thorough enough with that one#also a PID mismatch which was the other two's problem (plus fateful encounter ticked for some reason)#but I'm so glad to finally have them safe and backed up for when the batteries die eventually on my cartridges#I hate losing anything if there's a chance I can keep it! they may not be technically legitimate but I don't care#I don't do any online stuff except the occasional wondertrade so as long as they're legit enough to make it into bank#that's enough for me

Chapter 1- Part 1
By the way- since Tumblr has a limit on how many images someone can put on a single post, I’ll need to be splitting these updates into multiple parts. No worries, though- I’ll make sure to keep all posts corresponding to specific chapters linked up with each other.
So now, let’s boot up the game! If you wanna download it yourself and give it a try, you can find the download on the official website.
I gotta say, just looking at this title screen with my own eyes is getting me excited already. Starting a new game always does that for me- a fresh new experience, new adventure!
Also can I just say this title screen music goes so hecking hard, like this is a jam, holy crud-
Okay enough waiting around, let’s actually get this started...
And by that I mean mess around with the control scheme for a moment-
Would it have been easier to just leave the controls at their default? Maybe, but I just prefer using WASD to move around, yell at me in the notes for my setup if it satisfies you.
Ah, and here we are at our character selection! I like the ticket styling here, and from the first look the sprites look good. Though- is that the Gen 3 style of spritework? All tiny like that? I probably shoulda expected that when they said it was “Emerald-styled”, actually-
It also doesn’t look like any of them have a set gender at default, I think? It seems like it’s just split between “black hair, blondie, or white anime hair (affectionate)”- either way, everyone here looks GNC has heck and I love that for all of them.
Still, none of these really match what I really look like, so…I’ll go with the white-haired one at the end, just to see what happens when I pick them-
Ah, you can pick your gender regardless of which avatar you choose! Neat! I’m gonna look edgy and no one can stop me-
Also, as you can see, my character’s name for this playthrough will be “X”- that’s the name I typically choose for myself when naming characters in games like this, and Reborn will be no different.
Also, you guys can’t hear this because it’s just images, but like- I think this ticketmaster is doing all of this on a typewriter?? Because when all that other stuff (ARR, Seat Number, etc.) was being inputted, the audio was typewriter sounds?? I thought the ticket UI was just for the aesthetic, but- is this station actually that old???
Hello??? Sir??? We have technology, you know that, right????
The old fence post that is your workspace apparently-
You know, I’m a little curious about that myself- why are we going to Reborn City? Is the player character gonna have a backstory of some sort? The regular Pokémon protagonists have backstories, even if it’s usually as simple as “you’ve lived in this town your whole life, you turn a certain age, now take this starter and go forth and fight Trainers to become the very best”, but it’s there still.
What’s this character’s motivation? Is that something I’ll have to come up with for myself? Audience surrogate taken to the max? Because I can do that, I can work with that-
Ambition- is that our true motivation? Or is that merely the perception of the ancient ticketmaster? Questions to be answered later, I'm sure.
AW YEAH, TRAIN SOUNDS (and the background is doing a moving effect too, but again you can’t see it through the screenshot, alas)
Oh honey we viewed them quite closely not too long ago, I think we’re good-
Nice animation with the train we got going here, interesting to see that multi-colored emblem from the title screen on it…again, implications to be answered later.
Oh? Those are the other avatar characters we could have picked. Are they going to be NPCs or something? You know, like in Gen III with Brendan/May or Gen IV with Lucas/Dawn or Legends Arceus with Rei/Akari?
Also, this BGM for being on the train here slaps, the music is pretty good so far.
Man, lots of white-haired folk around here, who’s this now?
Ah, a recruiter- so the others are more Trainers, like us. Again- are they going to be NPCs since they aren’t the player character? They must have canon names or something, but there’s definitely a lot of them- eh, we’ll just have to see.

Ok, so, got an opinion here that's probably gonna do numbers in the negative direction quite quickly, but I gotta get it off my chest because I'm tired of it sizzling on the proverbial back burner like it's been for the last... what, several days? Couple weeks? Don't even remember anymore...
Anywho, it'll probably deteriorate in quality over time as I write this because it'll take a bit to do so even remotely coherently and it's already sometime past midnight, so here goes possibly everything.
*inhales*
I don't understand/hold with the whole "Takanuva is trans/ a trans allegory/symbol" thing. Don't get me wrong, the LGBTQ+ community needs as many heroes, icons, symbols, allegories, etc as they can get in this hostile world, especially the trans folks, and I'm all in on supporting the whole thing.
(Hell, I've kinda been trying to take various looks at myself for a while now, trying to figure myself out, and so far I'm pretty sure I'd prefer to be slightly on the more effeminate side of androgynous if I could, but I don't exactly have the time energy, funds, or general environment to go that route rn, or anytime soon.)
And yet, even with all that, drawing a connection between Takanuva and the trans crowd throws me for a loop, because it feels off somehow. The non-binary crowd? Sure, that works, because when you get down to it, the inhabitants of the MU are canonically physically non-gendered (by which I mean, they have no physical genetalia because they don't reproduce) and anything close to "sexual dimorphism" is pretty much cosmetic, aside from some programming bullshit from before Velika turned everyone from drones into people (and maybe a bit of his meddling was added in as well, who knows). Not to mention, Takua/Takanuva already has so much hung on him that it makes no sense to add more. Let me explain...
For starters, back at the very beginning, Takua was barely even a character at all, having instead started as the physical manifestation of YOU, the "Player" as you interacted with some of the original games. I'm not just talking about MNOG here, either, though yes he was vital to that. I'm talking about the GBA game(s) and the one or two PC games that came about before that. No, I don't remember the names of the games in question, mostly because I never got the chance to play them as a kid, and it's currently so late that it's early in the morning, I'm not looking that up rn. Anyway, he was a blank slate, full stop, with no plans for character development beyond those games. This was mostly because Bionicle was only intended to run for a year, at most, before Lego wrapped everything up with the final battle against Makuta, Mata Nui's awakening (which happened in '08/9), and the reuniting of the planets.
Of course, Bionicle itself fucking EXPLODED in popularity, (which no-onw expected back then), and he himself became a popular fan favorite character as time progressed, so amidst the rush to start milking the unexpected cash cow they had on their hands in every way possible, the dev team decided to play on everything previously known about Takua and made MNOG (as well as having him start to show up in other important media, like the books), where he kind of became a vessel for everyone out there who was "the weird kid" in their social group(s), or "the hyper/ADD/ADHD kid", etc. He wandered around everywhere, got into just about everything that could get him into trouble, and all that good stuff. (Of course, we later found out he did this a lot in Metru Nui too, and he got slightly brain-fried by the Vahki because he did it so much, but that didn't exist at that point, so...)
And Lego used him to tell the story that ANYONE could be the hero, and everyone's special, and the power of friendship etc. etc, all the usual moral stuff they crammed into kids' media back then. Not to mention the fact that the Matoran, while self-sufficient and stuff, were all basically stand-ins for kids, wandering about in large groups under the watchful gaze and protective power of the taller, bigger figure(s) in their lives (parents, teachers, older siblings, other adults, etc) while the Turaga we're wrinkly, wizened old mentor/mystic/grandparent types.
And so it was, through the Bohrok arcs, up until the Mask of Light was found and the Rahkshi showed up to wreck everyone's shit. Cue THAT entire arc that we know and love, and suddenly Takua is now Takanuva, the Legendary Toa of Light, etc, and he defeats Makuta and they discover Metru Nui and blah blah blah. (Btw, I'll start referring to Takua/Takanuva as an overall character as "TK/N" from here out, while also referring to his individual Matoran/Toa stages by their individual names.) And yet, let's back up a bit.
The entire MoL arc turns Takua from the "underdog" story we knew him as before into a literal "growing up" story, where he has to face responsibilities and consequences, having greatness thrust upon him (as per the old saying), and generally acting in tandem with these six people he's only every really seen as near godly-level beings before now, because he's basically one of them now too. Of course, there's obviously some major impostor syndrome going on, because how the hell do you try to match pace with such influential figures, especially when you realize that they're each just as much a fucking weirdo screwball as you, if not moreso, and in ways beyond anything you ever got up to before? A very good metaphor for hitting adulthood, looking back.
Everyone's faking it, tbh. No-one has their life under control, adult or otherwise. Anywho, TK/N then continues to learn to use his new power and work with the rest of "the team" even though he's still very evidently the literal seventh wheel, as evidenced by the Nuva heading off to Voya Nui while he's chosen by the Turaga to stay behind and keep the Matoran from going berserk (which fails). Later he goes off with the soon-to-be Toa Ignika, gets separated from them, has a bunch of adventures where his balls finally drop and he comes into his own, then he shows up in Karda Nui having become a much better person (even if he's still half-drained of light, though that quickly gets fixed).
TL:DR, TK/N becomes a typical coming-of-age story, even if the final parts are sidelined for reasons of greater universal-scale plot events. Now, there's obviously a lot more nuance to it all than just that, as well as a few other things he dealt with (IE, confronting his inner darkness on several occasions), but that sums it up to a degree.
Now, going back to an earlier point, I mentioned that gender was basically pointless in Bionicle, at least for the Matoran and such, because in-universe, unlike humans and other organic beings, it had nothing to do with reproduction or furthering the continuation of an individual's species. If anything, it was more cosmetic than truly functional. Of course, it was added in because there was twofold interference from organic beings. One level was, of course, the Lego story writers, which wanted a bit of diversity to grab as many kids' attention as possible while also not getting shit on by parents and other folks in the industry. However, there was more direct and influential interference in-universe, thanks to the Great Beings themselves (who, in turn, were also influenced by the writers), all of which injected a very human bias into things.
The various beings inside the GSR were designed and manufactured based on the physical setup of the normal inhabitants of Spherus Magna, both in form and possibly in their original programming, as also mentioned earlier. Sure, doing so probably had uses, like the liquid-dwelling Ga-Matoran being physically feminine to allow a more hydrodynamic shape, or almost all the Psionic Matoran/Toa being feminine because that one masculine one they built turned out to be too aggressive, etc.
Meanwhile, Av-Matoran were one of the few (if only) type of Matoran with a truly split gender population (the exact percentages are unknown at this time) because they were prototypes for all the other Matoran types to come. So yeah, sure, there was a possibility that there could have been a female Av-Matoran pottering around instead of TK/N on Mata Nui, and who could have had his place as the (a?) Toa of Light in that timeline, who knows.
Sure, I'm also a believer that at least some form of love canonically exists amongst the beings of the GSR in Bionicle, even if it's not the same as what we humans have, which is driven at its core by the need for biological reproduction. You can't be a sapient functionally-immortal being that lives for literally thousands of years, if not millions/billions, and not have at least some kind of compassion and empathy for your fellow sapients around you. Hell, I've seen plenty of art and stories about two or more of the Toa being an item, or a couple of the Matoran even, and I'm all for that.
I'm all about just about EVERYTHING about Bionicle, as long as it's not gross, horrendous, illegal in any of most of the civilized nations here on earth, or anything like that. There's also apparently a decent number of long-time fans of Bionicle who followed it from a young age that also have figured out (or are still currently figuring out) in more recent times that they're trans, which is also fucking great IMHO! But the whole "TK/N=trans" thing? Well, I've seen no precedent for it in-universe (either from TK/N himself or any other characters), and I have no idea where it came from irl, so, again, it all just feels off, from my perspective. Of course, I could just be blinded by a few of the dumb things I'm dealing with in my own life rn (long story, not going into it), or because life at work dealing with dumbass customers has just left me too jaded to see it, idk. I admit that. I'm human, I have failings and biases and opinions and all that other shit. This isn't me trying to be hateful, or a terf (or whatever they're called,) I'm just confused AF about all this.
For those of you among my pitiful follower count who aren't bots, feel free to comment/reblog, or not. Roast me alive, unfollow, try to explain things so as to swing my POV around, whatever you feel like, not that you need my permission to. You're your own people, and this is the internet, so... whatever. Imma go to bed and hope my Tumblr doesn't explode because I had to try and get something that took from maybe 1am til after 3am to write out of my head and off my chest. Maybe I can stop worrying at it like a missing tooth now.

COLSON BAKER x READER - BUCKET LIST II
SIT TIGHT, HANG ON, & ENJOY THE RIDE
You hadn't slept well in almost two weeks, which was conveniently how long it had been since Colson discovered your bucket list. You didn't like talking about your past, and you were afraid that some of the items on the list would lead to questions you didn't want to answer. But when Colson hadn't even brought the list up, you were relieved. You figured it had gotten lost in the shuffles of his busy life, which was perfectly okay.
You were woken up around 5 am by Colson crawling into your bed. It wasn't abnormal for him to randomly show up at your house in the wee hours of the early morning. Especially not since his recent split from Megan. They had called it quits a little over 4 months ago, and although he'd never admit it, he hated sleeping alone.
"Cols, you okay?" You whispered to the tattooed man under your covers.
He laid on his back, arms folded across his chest, acting as though he had never slept in the same bed as you. Colson was always mindful of your space, not wanting to cross any boundaries or make you uncomfortable in your own bed.
"Mhmm," He responded, clearing his throat. "Go back to sleep."
You didn't say a word, repositioning yourself to find a comfier spot. You made sure that your leg was touching his. He had told you years ago that the slightest amount of physical contact helped him sleep because it was a way for him to confirm that he wasn't alone. You didn't mind it because it was comforting to you too.
"Thank you." He whispered before you both dozed off into a peaceful sleep.
You woke up around 8 am to Colson's face nuzzled into your neck. You were tangled in his limbs. It was hard to tell where he ended, and you began. Colson was a cuddler, another thing he'd never admit, but you two always ended up wrapped up in each other.
You tried moving slowly out from under him, causing him to grumble in his sleep, pulling you closer to him, a contented sigh passing his lips. You chuckled quietly at him. You didn't have it in you to wake the sleeping man. You knew what it was like to struggle with sleep. You never slept past 8 am regardless of the amount of sleep you received. You knew you wouldn't be able to fall back asleep, so you carefully reached for your phone on the nightstand. Scanning the hundreds of emails all interested in booking Colson or scheduling him for an interview.
You hadn't even realized how quickly the time passed until Colson shifted from on top of you. He groaned as he stretched himself across your bed.
"Do you ever stop working?" His voice was sleepy, and his hair was disheveled.
"I just booked you for SNL next month. You're welcome." You articulated. A look of excitement gracing his face.
"Shut the fuck up." He chuckled. "I guess I can cross that off my bucket list!" He screamed before hysterically jumping on top of you, causing a groan to escape your lips.
"Okay, can we get up now?" You grumbled, trying to push his heavy body off of yours.
"What time is it?" He questioned. You looked at the clock on your phone.
"10:58."
"Not yet." He replied, remaining situated on top of you. You sighed loudly. A few minutes later, Colson removed himself from you to speak with you face to face. "So for your bucket list, should we just start at the top and work our way down or randomly pick what we want to do?" He asked, catching you off guard.
"You're really not going to drop this, are you?" You rolled your eyes at him.
"Not a chance," he replied, reaching into his back pocket to remove the folded sheet of paper. "Which do you want to cross off first?" He asked, passing it off to you.
"I don't know, you tell me, boss man." You said, ripping the list from his hands.
"Well, for starters, we can cross off number 23 'cause I made you stay in bed until 11 am this morning." He bragged, drawing a checkmark next to the number.
"Sneaky." You smirked.
"Thank you, thank you," He repeated himself, pretending to bow for an audience. "I'm gonna have you crossing stuff off left and right, baby!" His voice became more theatrical with every word. "Please fasten your seat belt, and keep all hands, feet, arms, and legs inside the ride at all times!" He bantered loudly, pretending to talk into an overhead pager like you were boarding a rollercoaster.
"I can't stand you." You giggled. The silence grew between you as you carefully looked over the list. You had created it so long ago you needed to refresh your memory. "Obviously, we don't have to do all of these." You said after a few moments, gesturing towards the sheet in your hands.
"What do you mean?" He questioned, flabbergasted at your suggestion. "I'm helping you cross off every single one of these before your 30th birthday." He declared.
"Colson, have you even read through the entire list?!?" You queried. "Some of those are pretty unreasonable."
"Which ones?"
"Well, number seven for starters." You elaborated. Colson grabbed the list from your hands to see what you were talking about. . . Get married in Las Vegas. . .
"Fuck it, I'm all in." He assured you, casually handing the list back. "You're my assistant. You're basically my wife anyway. Besides, we can just get an annulment afterward or just have a fake wedding." He shrugged before swinging his long legs over the side of your bed.
"Are you serious?" You sputtered.
"As a heart attack," he went on, "it works out great actually because the media won't stop talking about how I'm never going to move on from Megan." He explained, leaning down to slip his sneakers on. "Also, we'll already be in Vegas crossing off number eight." He looked back at you with a devilish grin.
The only thing left for you to do was sit tight, hang on, and enjoy the ride.

12 and 18 for the writer ask meme?
12. Is there a trope you haven’t written yet but really want to?
i suppose there's a couple, but overall i've hit most of my targets! i do want to write sloppy drunk sex, if that counts as a trope? and i'd love to try my hand at a royalty type type that has ladies in it (shoves blood will have blood under the bed) so i can have fun with the devotion of ladies in waiting...
18. What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene.
OKAY SO WE'RE GONNA GO BACK IN TIME FOR THIS ONE BC IT REMAINS ONE OF MY CROWNING ACHIEVEMENTS
(uh. pedestal spoilers ahead. a fic that is 11 years old...)
throughout the ENTIRE fic, there was the warning of the dark-haired monster, and later on, we had nick's famous black hoodie. (separate things, but related in what i pulled off - bear with me!) pedestal was sparse on physical description, but what we did know: that nick wore a black hoodie, that nick had black hair, that the narrator looked like his little brother, and that lola dressed like a goth and had black hair.
this was set up in the 10s-20s of a 160 chapter fic.
fast forward to after nick goes evil - we catch a handful of incriminating glimpses of a figure in a black hoodie. the narrator is repeatedly warned about the dark-haired monster, too. the narrator, and the readers, assume these to be the same person*.
cue the finale.
lola is the figure in the black hoodie; she's one of the big bads. seriously, that reveal - the foreshadowing of a GOTH TRAINER but everyone was sooooo focused on nick, readers and narrator a like - still fills me with golden light. i can't 100% say with certainty that it was planned from the beginning, since pedestal was written so long ago and had zero outline for most of the fic, but i am good at accidental foreshadowing like that. or maybe my subconscious hoards details like that to pop up in my conscious mind later. i don't know how it works, but i love it!
it didn't get as much reader attention, but at the very end, des (pedestal), the narrator's starter, watching the approaching moral event horizon - i'll just put an excerpt here.
"You are going to stop the dark-haired monster?" Des questioned, voice low and even more frightening.
I looked back down at Lola. Pitch black hair, always had that dark of hair. She had been behind this all. She had twisted Nick, put him up on the white thing's pedestal just to help him fall again. He had died because of her. "I am."
"No." Des shook his head and took a step towards me. He reopened his eyes and they were hard. Resigned. "I am."
"...What?" No. I wasn't going to let him do that—but in my surprise, he had taken a couple more steps towards us, until he was so close I could have reached out to touch him.
I started forward, intent on wrestling him back if I had to, but he told me simply, "My color eyesight is not very good."
I paused, set back by his bizarre and random statement.
Des turned on me and physically pushed me out of the way, placing himself between Lola and I. "To me, your hair looks as dark as hers. I will not permit you to do this, Trainer. Not to her, not to anyone. Can't you see what she is trying to do?"
as i said, it didn't get as much reader attention, but given the comparison with nick's brother (and a very lively art community, so there were canon character designs), the narrator could've been the dark-haired monster, too. not black hair, but dark brown - and what does it matter to a starter pokemon?
i'm still very proud of pedestal, and those plot twists are still high up on my heart pedestal of Written Things To Be Proud Of
[ask me more things here!]
#sorry this was late#ask#ask meme answer#anonymous#i know that answer was long but OH GOD am i proud of that twist in pedestal#the lola one was bigger#but des quietly accusing the narrator of being the monster from the future is near and dear to my heart

Kara landed on the balcony and make her way into the facility, searching for her sister.
"I'm here." Kara founded her discussing plans and other mission with J'onn and two other agents.
They turned their attention towards the blonde.
"You two are dismissed, we will talk about the failed mission later." J'onn dismissed the two agents, watching as they leave to do their other work.
"Sorry I'm late, Cat was on my neck about that article and had to finish it before finding time to slip away unoticed." Kara explained, hugging Alex before releasing her as J'onn smiled warmly at the two sisters.
"It's quite alright, don't worry Supergirl." J'onn assured the blonde Kryptonian.
Alex took a seat, waiting for her sister to sit next to her while J'onn sat on a sofa in front of them.
"We found out something about the wolf girl." J'onn began, gaining a curious look from Kara.
"What about her?"
"Winn were snooping around on their computer data system and have manage to find a list of people they've expirimented on, and turns out that she was one of their best expiriments yet. Their favourite weapon until someone betrayed CADMUS and helped her to escape." J'onn explained.
"That's....unbelievable, hate the way they use humans and aliens as test subjects." Kara looked at Alex when she putted a comforting hand on her shoulder, knowing full well that she was thinking about her father and history with CADMUS.
"We need to get this wolf before CADMUS." J'onn went on.
"I agree, we fear what might happen if they find her first." Alex agreed with J'onn.
Kara nodded. "Yeah then let's make sure they don't. I'm tired of all the problems they cause."
"And maybe I can ask Lena Luthor if she knows something of the she wolf." Kara went on.
J'onn thought the idea over while Alex casted her a concerned look.
"Kara I don't think that's a good idea." Alex warned.
"I don't think so either." J'onn looked reluctant."But she might be able to give a few awnsers."
Alex let out a sigh at that, not too happy about the idea.
"Well then, off to Luthor corp." Kara waved them bye before leaving but not before noticing the concerend look Alex wore.
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
"Well good thing she doesn't know I'm Kara." Kara said under her breath, landing on Lena's office balcony.
She reluctantly knocked on the glass doors, trying her best to not look nervous, hoping that she is doing the right thing.
A few moments later Lena opened the door, curiously looking at Kara.
"Supergirl? What are you doing here? I'm not done with the project yet if that's why you are here." Lena smiled at the blonde Kryptonian.
Kara returned the smile. "No it's alright. I'm here for a completely diffrent reason." She assured Lena.
"Oh, okay then. What is it?" Lena asked, staring down at National City below them.
Kara nervously cleared her throat.
"I....I just wanted to find out if you know something of..."
Lena spared her a quick glance.
"Know what Supergirl? Spit it out, I don't bite." Lena urged her.
Kara smiled at that."I wanted to know if you perhaps know something of that wolf all over the news. I've found out that she've escaped CADMUS with the help of someone and since your mother, your brother now I suppose is the leader of CADMUS that you might know something? Maybe who helped her escape?"
Lena gave her a look over her shoulder before looking down at the city again.
"I know that she was my mothers best expiriment and weapon to use against her enemies. And for who helped her escape, I don't know who it was. Maybe it was someone with a death wish." Lena explained, grip tight on the cold rails.
Kara kept quite at this.
"And my mother made her even stronger than she already were. She wanted to use her to defeat you but before that could happen she have escaped." Lena went on, still not looking at the Kryptonian.
Kara looked shocked at this.
"Wait? What? Well good thing she escaped, I just hope I can find out who have helped her escape so I can thank them."
Lena finally looked back at Kara.
"Maybe it's a good thing yeah. All the suffering she had went through, I wouldn't wish that on anyone." Lena tilts her head to the side slightly, swiping some of her dark hair over her shoulder.
"Thanks Lena, I must go now. Duty calls." Kara said as a alarm went off in the distance.
Kara took off once again.
"Farewell Supergirl." Lena said before going back into her office, a tiny smile tugging at her red lips at the person now sitting at her desk.
"Good afternoon, and how may I help you today?"
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
"Ugh these damn CADMUS agents." Kara huffed out, hauling him into the DEO prison cells.
Alex were helping to put another one away too.
"Yeah, they just keep getting even more annoying everyday."
"Agent Danvers, Supergirl." J'onn greeted them.
"Get ready for an outing Supergirl, got a little piece of information that the wolf have been spotted somewhere and I want you to go and have a look." J'onn said to them, waiting for them to follow him. "And Alew will be closeby."
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
"I've got eyes on the wolf." Kara said into her ear piece. "And she's with someone."
"Keep her in sight, and who is the person with her?" J'onn asked through his ear piece.
"I can't make out who the person is. My Xray vision won't work, the person have lead on them somewhere and they are wearing a hood." Kara explained.
"Mhm, what are they doing?"
"The person appears to be not treat...yet, and the wolf seems to be trusting of them." Kara squinted, keeping a close eye on them.
Kara went to step closer to the ledge of the building she have landed on but ended up tripping over a pipe contected to the roof and she end up falling to ground, grabbing the attention of both the person and the wolf that whipped their heads in her direction.
"Ugh why did I had to be clumsy in this moment?" Kara muttered under her breath, slowly pushing herself to a half up right position.
The wolf looked at the hooded person, making a slow jerk position to the side in what Kara suppose means that the person should run.
The mystery person, patted the wolf's side, whispering something in it's ear before spritting away into the darkness.
(Y/N)'s POV:
I stare the blonde Kryptonian down, growling lowly at her when she tried to stop her from running away.
Kara held up her arms in surrender, keeping a safe distance and not make any sudden moves.
"Hi." Kara awkwardly greeted, waving a hand.
I let out a huff, steping towards the blonde. She's still as akward as she was when we were little children back on Krypton. How I miss those days.
You stopped right in front of her, glowing red eyes meeting with her sky blue eyes as she looked at you cautiously as your wolf form towered over her.
With that you turned into your human form again, still towering a tad over her in height.
"We meet again short stack." You smirked down at her, (E/C) glistening with amusement at her now shocked state.
"Wha?Wait?!…(Y/N)?! But how?!" Kara fired out questions, a mix between shock, excitement and also a bit emotional.
"Not that I'm not happy to see you! But how?!" Kara rambled on.
You chuckled at her. "Kara Zor-El calm down. I'm was sent her by my parents before Krypton was destroyed. They wanted me safe and got me here." You explained.
Kara stopped, looking at you while you explained what have happened.
"Okay we'll talk about that later but now I really need to come with me to the DEO."
"Nope, I won't go there, they've been trying to catch me for years. I can't go there." You glared at her.
"Why not, we aren't your enemy. And we need your help against CADMUS." Kara tried to reason but you tensed up at the word CADMUS.
"No way. I won't go anywhere near them."
Kard pursed her lips at this. "Why not? And The DEO can help, why not come with me so I can show you that?"
"Well for starters, I don't really trust The DEO, and secondly, no I prefer to stay away from CADMUS, I don't go towards the people that have expirimented on me for years. Heck I was suppose to be dead a long time ago but that grimey wrinkly coot kept reviving me time and time again. Just got lucky to have had made a...friend there that helped me escape." You explained, a distant look crossing your face before meeting with her blue eyes again.
Kara looked at loss for words. "What? But...The DEO won't do that to you. That's not a reason to distrust us....you can trust me, we've been...childhood besties. Always got in trouble together and bother both our father's durning family dinners."
You chuckle light heartedly at the memories. "Man your father was really scary when he got angry, esspecially that one time we've got lost on a strange planet and almost got killed."
Kara laughed. "Yep his face was priceless when aunt Astra took us to him."
Suddenly you snapped back to reality, keeping a close eye on the blonde Kryptonian.
"Come with me please. It can be just like old times." Kara held out her hand, waiting for you to take it, eyes pleading but briefly lingering over your shoulder.
You stared down at her outstreched hand before slowly looking back at her face.
Suddenly you spun to the side, grabbing the person that have tried to sneak up on you from behind, a starled yelp falling from their lips.
"Do you honestly think I wouldn't sense someone sneaking up on me princessa?" You growled against her ear as you held her in a choke hold from behind, their hands on your arm to attempt escape.
"A-Alex?! (Y/N) Please don't hurt her." Kara begged, a tad of fear in her that you might hurt her.
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾

"In depth" analysis (commentary) on Mcs vs Yaha dialogue (part 1)
Because I'm obsessed and I need something to take my mind off of things!
*Also, these screenshots are taken from two different gameplay videos (cause I don't own the game unfortunately) so if the quality shifts it's because of that. I will provide links to the videos at the end of this entire thing*
Yaha's voice is so damn sweet!!!! He sounds like such an innocent person!
Urick sounds like a mix between a disgruntled ex and a man who just met his arch nemesis
"It's... been a while" ゴゴゴゴ
Apart from the sick rapping skills I gotta point out, why is he warning Manah? It really doesn't look like Yaha's that interested in women (I mean we don't know, but he hasn't shown any interest and he shows interest in most male characters so...)
*I'm skipping Nowe's "What do you mean" as it's not Urick x Yaha plot relevant.*
Now, this line is interesting. As a first time viewer, you hear/read this and think: "What a deep quote!" Urick really does sound hurt when saying this and it gives a very dramatic vibe. Now read that line again with the knowledge that Yaha's pact price was his ABILITY TO FEEL **SEXUAL** PLEASURE. Now for context (to those poor people reading this who have no idea whats happening) the power he gained was to charm anyone (any man??) he wanted when they looked into his eyes. This sentence makes sense especially with this context, but I find it hilarious!
"Or maybe... (Dramatic pause, *probably dramatically leans on wall*) it's the price he had to pay...(dramatic voice)"
*means ability to feel sexual satisfaction*
Like idk maybe someone's ability to feel that is super important and warants the dramatic tone but imo I really don't think it does... Especially when spoken from the dude's friend (ex friend or whatever)
Anyway there are more scenes later made really funny by knowing this, we'll get to them. Next line comes from Yaha and isn't super important either. He just compliments Urick's other friends' (yes that is a reference) abilities, tells him it'll be a shame to kill them, doesn't want to fight but he's apparently "duty bound". I don't have anything to analyse there unless he's saying any of these ironically but I can't tell cause he always sounds what I can describe as "polite" and doesn't seem to change a lot. He just sounds genuine so we'll leave it there
Unlike Yaha, Urick sounds 100% ironic and really aggressive. That's something Urick's dialogue tends to have when he talks about Yaha (When he does during the previous section of the game). He just sounds tired and aggressive.
Next part is the Gnomes being introduced and there the fight begins. From here on we have dialogue within the fight and the audio is pretty disrupted by the slowed down roblox death sound effects the gnomes make when they take damage (? I presume) but I'll try to analyse what I have. (If I owned the game I could see if there is a way to turn off those sounds, but I don't so we'll have to use what we have)
First thing Yaha says during the battle (at least in this one video I'm watching, maybe they are in a different order for each one(??)) One thing to note is that Yaha's dialogue is super weird. He says stuff like these and I don't know how to interpret that. I don't know where it's coming from or if ity meant to be some short of "I'll win" type of thing... Buuuuut, what I will point out is how he seems to share Urick's sick rapping skills!
And now he's taunting us... Ok, good I guess. That's what bosses are meant to do...
Another weird thing Yaha says. I don't know if he's trying to advertise himself to Urick or... Nowe... Or if he's trying to strike his own narcissism. Now this is likely refering to Urick (and later on you'll see what I mean) because of the specific use of the word "body". Technically we (and Nowe) can't tell if his body is perfect because we don't see it very much, but it is possible (likely) that Urick has. On the other hand he does say "is perfect" instead of "was" which would imply reference to a past event (which would have been with Urick) meaning we are supposed to be finding his body perfect now by looking at him for the first time. Which we really aren't... Because he's wearing clothes. Idk might just be a weird, hornier way to say he's pretty...*Bonus, the person recording this is using Urick at the time so that's nice*
This has started to remind me of Aizen's quotes after he got the Hogyoku (you know ehich ones I mean, the were wonky af) This is one of the weirder ones... I don't know what he means by "sin"... I want to believe he implies "lust". I just don't get this one...
Now that's more juicy! Gives is WAY more to work with and dare I say WAY WAY more than we would like to! For starters, this quote sounds so horny!!! SO HORNY! Now apart from that, it implies something that is very weird and that is that Yaha is able to compare Nowe's eyes with his adoptive father's. For Yaha to be able to do that it means he has *intensely* looked into "General Oror's" eyes, couple that with the "excite me so" and his powers and... You have a pretty creepy scenario... All I'm gonna say is RIP "General Oror" and Nowe, you really shouldn't ask Urick about this EVER for your own good... ("General Oror" is like really old looking and idk like... Ew! Just how horny do you have to be to do this, like... Maybe Urick was right to be supper dramatic...)
So I just hit the "10 image limit" and on to part two of this we go!
#drakengard#drakengard 2#urick#yaha#oh boy#people who don't care are gonna love this showing up on their dashboard!!

Favorite starter from each generation and favorite character from each generation? Go!
Just quickly from like Gen 1 through 4 I like all the starters and have used all the starters pretty evenly. These will just be my personal favourites but picking a fav amongst those 4 generations was harder that the others. Also Cyndaquil remains my favourite starter because it was my first ever starter.
Gen 1: Charmander
Gen 2: Cyndaquil - Favourite Starter overall
Gen 3: Treeko
Gen 4: Piplup
Gen 5: Oshawott - Snivy a close second
Gen 6: Fenniken - Honestly this is the only gen that I regularly box my starter after I get the Kanto starter
Gen 7: Popplio - Rowlett a close second
Gen 8: Sobble - So far it's all I've used so this might change
Favourite Character from each gen..... Ok I'm gonna have to like include Fire Red/Leaf Green as Gen 1 same with Heart Gold/Soul Silver and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. So when I say someone for Gen 3 is my fav just assume I'm referring to their remake version.
Gen 1: Blue Oak - This Gen doesn't have much to work with but he is the most famous rival in the series for a reason, they made you WANT to beat this guy.
Gen 2: Silver - I swear my answers won't always be the Rival. One of the best Rival arcs in the series, was the only proper rival for a long time to even have a proper arc.
Gen 3: Steven Stone - I just like him, especially in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.
Gen 4: Cynthia - Still the hardest Champion Battle I've had in any game, her moments with Cyrus in Platinum are good at showing the difference in world views between the two. Plus she's got a fucking Garchomp how can you not love that?
Gen 5: N - Do I even need to explain this one? The emotional conflict in Gen 5 is driven by this poor confused, abused and lonely young man who only is doing what he thinks is right but later realised his entire life has been a lie. It's heartbreaking but the fact he gets back up after it all is inspiring, he even tries to come to the rescue 2 years later when his good for nothing abusive father is trying to wreck shit again.
Gen 6: Professor Sycamore - Now I'll admit X and Y did not leave a massive impact on me but Professor Sycamore did, from actually battling the player to being friends with the Bad Guy and feeling guilty about not noticing the red flags sooner I wish we could have seen more of Professor Sycamore in game, I think there's a lot of interesting material there. Sina and Dexio are close seconds just for how memorable their antics are.
Gen 7: Lillie - Similar to N I don't feel like I really need to explain this one. Sun and Moon at its core is a story about Lillie, about how she handles her abusive mother and how slowly she learns to become her own person rather than the one her mother wants her to be but that she doesn't become bitter, she still wants to save her mother even after what she's been through. Lillie is great.
Gen 8 - oh hard one, I'd have to say Piers. Getting to work alongside him in the post game section and during the storming of Rose Tower was great.

(Art AUs) Date AU with Sterek (and I'm very proud I'm limiting myself to one prompt here :P)
Date AU: I’m on a blind date and the guy/gal starts ranting about how “art isn’t a viable form of work, and how it’s not needed in schools” and you just walked up and schooled them while serving us our food order about how important art is in society, and left your number on my plate written in mustard.
You know what, I have a ton of prompts waiting for me but this is just too funny to pass up so here goes (with Derek as the poor blind date) - I changed it a little, I hope you don’t mind ;)
On AO3
The moment Whatshisface rolls his eyes in disgust is the only moment of the evening when Derek can understand why Erica thought they would be a good match.
Yes, eurgh indeed. Derek isn’t sure they are “eurghing” for the same thing, though.
The man is exuding “elitist” and “spoiled” from every pore, and though he could be seen as conventionally attractive, his personnality is quickly turning him into the ugliest of gargoyles in Derek’s eyes.
“Can you believe this?”
With extreme difficulty, if “this” refers to this date. “Hm?”
“This,” Snobby McSnotty says, pointing at the highlighted dish on the menu. “They want us to pay extra for a pizza under the pretext of supporting the neighborhood’s school Arts program.”
“I think it’s a good idea,” Derek says, not only because he knows it will bring this sham of a date to a shorter shelf life, but also because, well, he does believe Arts in school are an important part of the social fabric and the way children grow into adults.
Exhibit A, Mr Douche in front of him who probably stayed in a corner for all of his art classes as a child.
“You’re playing cute,” Dumbass says with a smirk. “But we both know that Arts in schools are about as useful as a degree on a pretty girl, am I right?”
“Most definitely not.”
“Oh, come on, Daryl–”
“Derek.”
“Yes, right. Derek,” the man says, leaning forward as if trying to pull Derek into a confidential mood–as if–, “Art can be fun, sure, but it’s not, like, essential.”
“Ahem.”
Derek looks up and the first smile of the evening blossoms on his face at the sight of his waiter.
For starters, Mr. White Crisp Shirt pushes every button on Derek’s crush control panel.
For seconds, he is glaring daggers at Mr. Douchy Pants and that is almost enough to make him Derek’s best friend.
“We haven’t decided yet.” Jackass says to the waiter without even looking at him.
The waiter, whose name can’t possibly be what is written on his nametag–what kind of name is Stiles anyway–squints even harder.
“It will be just a moment, thank you,” Derek adds, trying to distance himself from his date’s behavior.
This softens Stiles’ demeanor a little, but he still scoffs at Jerkface’s back as he leaves them.
“Some manners won’t kill you, you know,” Derek says, his eyes firmly on the menu.
“I don’t have to, it’s his job.”
“Oh my God.”
“What? Like you’re such a posterchild for manners?”
“As a matter of fact, yes.”
Jerkface snorts. “Right. So under all those muscles and glares, you’re telling me that there is a softie with a heart of gold, who frames children’s drawings and is polite to everybody?”
“I don’t see how one is incompatible with the other.” Derek tries really hard to control his temper. “And as a matter of fact, yes, I frame my nephews’ art to hang around my house.” He pauses to take a sip of his wine. “Not that you’ll get to see it or anything.”
Behind him, Derek swears he hears someone snorting and attempting to hide it under a cough. In front of him, Jerkface Supreme merely smirks. “Playing hard to get, uh?”
“Nope, predicting the end of the evening.”
“See, that’s why Arts are not useful to kids–nay, why it’s a bad influence.”
“Oh wow.”
“By giving a disproportionate place to Art, you developed a sense of superiority over other people.”
“Because that is not condescending at all.”
Derek agrees with that sentence, almost said it himself, but their waiter is back and is glaring at Douche McJerky.
“Who asked for your opinion?”
“No one, but that hasn’t stopped you, now, has it,” Stiles says, putting down a bottle of water and leaning over the table. “Now, whether you want to hear it or not, get ready for some knowledge being dropped into the void between your ears.”
“How dare–”
“Tut-tut,” Stiles cuts him, a finger pressed to his lips.
Derek leans back in his chair, glass of wine in hand as he pulls the mini plate of appetizers toward himself. This gonna be good.
“First of all, asshole, art is important in school because it gives children an outlet, a way of getting rid of their anxiety, their surplus of emotions instead of resorting to violence.”
“B–”
“Second of all, art is important later in education because it allows for creativity, world building, all things useful in all aspects of life. It develops the brain in ways other curriculum cannot, and studies show that students engaged in arts perform better. Wouldn’t you like that, to perform better?”
Behind Stiles’ hand–and Derek does notice that it is a very nice hand indeed–DoucheCanoe glares and frowns, and turns a very unattractive shade of puce.
“Third of all, having regular Art classes help the children to develop their motor skills and their visual-spatial skills. It supports a critical view of the world, and helps them being prepared to tackle different points of view.”
“That’s rubbish,” Annoyance in Human Form says, pushing Stiles away before he can get to point number four, “and I demand to see your manager.”
Stiles pauses, and his lips slowly but surely stretch into a smirk.
A devilish smirk, the kind that sends delicious shivers down Derek’s spine.
“I am the manager.”
Oh this is priceless.
“What-but–you’re a kid.”
Stiles beams at him. “Why, thank you, I moisturize daily, and I have good genes. Now scram.”
Derek’s date opens and closes his mouth a couple of times, before snatching his jacket to storm out.
Stiles brushes his hands like he got rid of some particularly nasty vermin before turning to Derek, his smile turning apologetic and, dare he say it, shy.
“I am sorry I ruined your date, but it didn’t look like a very promising one.”
“You saved my evening,” Derek says with a crooked smile. “Did you have more fine points in favor of the arts?”
“I sure do.”
“Would you care to share them with me?”
Stiles’ cheeks turn a blotchy pink, from the high of his cheekbones to his neck. Derek kind of wants to follow it under Stiles’ crisp white shirt.
He blames the wine.
(It’s not the wine.)
“I–I’d love to.” Stiles waves at someone, another waiter who silently brings a large plate of pasta, covered in a red sauce that smells divine. “I’m Stiles, manager of this restaurant.”
Derek smiles. “I’m Derek, art teacher.”
Stiles’ laughter lasts for a while, enough to give Derek a need to see how this sound would feel against his skin.
(He finds out two weeks later.)

Another prompt done, “you’d better put that knife down” from this prompt list I found https://sunsetcarnation264.tumblr.com/post/177458653992/sad-otp-starters I really need to make happier stuff XD Too much angsty stuff from me at once, both drawing and writing wise even though I don’t post every art I’ve made that’s angst related. I suggest you take caution, though, as this contains stuff relating to self-harm. It doesn’t actually happen, but it’s very close to it happening and thought of doing it has been written. If it doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable in the slightest, go ahead and read it all you want under the cut or on FFN itself.
Title: Can You Pretend I’m Amazing? Summary: Louie sits there, ready to give himself another mark, but he contemplates on doing it once again. Luckily, his brothers and Webby are there for him. (Prompt fanfic. One-shot.) Rating: T Genre: Angst/Hurt/Comfort Series: DuckTales 2017 Pairing: Louie and Webby (Louebby/Loubby), mentions of HueDew (Huey and Dewey) Trigger warnings: Self-harm.
Louie inhaled deeply and exhaled with his mouth.
He opened his eyes and looked down at the pocket knife in his left hand. He set the knife down right next to him. The young triplet took his hoodie off, putting it on the arm of the couch he was sitting on. He then looked at both of his arms.
A rubber band was on his right arm close to his wrist. It was one that Webby gave him a little after he told her about the scars. He had been using it a lot rather than actually cutting himself. It was very helpful for him, but as of lately it wasn't doing much for him. Not as much as it did before, at least, like the first few times around. He took it off of his arm and laid it down on his hoodie.
Louie turned his arms around to see the rest of them. Scars covered the entirety of his arms. All of them were from the little pocket knife he had. Some of them were light and very faint, those being the older ones, while others were deep and noticeable from a first glance, those being newer.
Other scars were in between, ones being not as fresh and deep, but definitely not as light either. Those were still fading away like the first ones he made on his arms. The newer scars, he wasn't sure if those were going to become faint scars. Most likely not, though, and they were something that he had to hide every day from almost everybody.
He looked over onto where he first cut himself. He remembered how scared he was at first having the knife so close to beneath his shoulder. It was supposed to be a one time thing, but little did he knew that it only went onto another one and another, spiraling into something he couldn't easily stop doing.
His fingertips went up to where the first knife wound used to be at. Not a single trace of it could be seen or felt. The scar had completely healed since then, as the cut luckily wasn't so deep. Of course, it was the first cut after all, it didn't always start out deep. He removed his fingers from that part of his arm and looked away from it.
He picked up the pocket knife once again. He looked at the blade. It was clean and clear enough for him to see his own reflection in it. The blade wasn't something he wanted to get dirty at any time, since it wouldn't be too good for the wounds. They would probably get infected faster than if he didn't clean them up right away.
Besides, it was better to keep it clean overall. It was kept sharp, too, since he did use it often before he got a rubber band to use. He touched the end of the knife, wanting to see how sharp it was now. He hadn't tested how it was in a few weeks, so now was a good time. He pulled his index finger away and looked at it.
No blood was on the tip of his finger. It seemed like it was still pretty sharp despite that though. Louie closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths like he did before. After those deep breaths, he opened his eyes as he put the knife very close to his arm. He was about to add another scar to the horrible, almost permanent display on his right arm, but he didn't.
He remembered how he promised Webby that he would try his best to stop cutting a while back. She tried what she could to help him, same with Huey and Dewey. He wanted to know if everything was enough, though. Maybe the rubber band just wasn't something that would work for him for too long. Different things worked for different people, after all.
Louie sighed, staring at his pocket knife. He noticed how his hand was shaking holding it. It was best to put the knife down now before he unintentionally cut himself. Though, then again, giving his arm only one more couldn't hurt too badly-
"Alright! I'll see you guys later!" Webby said.
Louie looked up immediately and saw Huey, Dewey, and Webby at the door. He started to breathe faster as his heartbeat pounded hard. He felt like he was frozen, like if he couldn't move at all. His palms and face became sweaty.
Webby was the first one to look at him. Her face went pale from what she saw. He knew for sure that she was looking at the knife in his hand. Huey and Dewey looked at her confused. They then turned around and saw what she was seeing. Huey covered his beak as his eyes widened while Dewey's beak opened slightly.
"Louie...?" Dewey spoke.
"I, uh..." Louie tried his best to speak, but he couldn't get anything out.
"You should probably put that knife down, Louie." Webby told him.
"Yeah, you definitely should. We just don't want you to get hurt in any way, shape, or form, Louie." Huey added.
Out of all three of them, Webby seemed to be the most worried. It was understandable as to why. Tears started forming in the youngest triplet's dark forest green eyes. He bit his lip, trying to hold them back. Sweat fell down to his beak, almost being able to taste it in his mouth.
Louie darted his eyes back and forth between the three of them. He sighed and looked away from them. His arm shook back and forth, making the knife come close to making contact with his body several times. He slowly moved the knife away from his arm despite the shaking. He set it down close to him.
Louie pulled his legs up to his chest, wrapping his arms around them. He laid his head on his knees sideways. His face twitched and quivered as he tried not to cry. Louie didn't want to look at his older brothers or his girlfriend. He didn't want to keep looking at their worried faces. He didn't want them to see how he was ready to cry.
Webby came into his view. Louie looked ahead of him instead. She walked right in front of him and bent down to one knee. She put her hands onto his shoulders, that of which made Louie jump. He almost shoved her hands from his shoulders, but he stopped himself right before he did. He didn't want to do that to her, even if it was out of trained instinct at this point.
Since she wasn't leaving his sight, Louie looked at her. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Dewey take the pocket knife away, but Louie didn't move his head or eyes to look at it fully. She put one of her hands onto his face and the youngest triplet leaned onto it. She caressed his cheek, ultimately soothing him. Louie held her wrist gently as he closed his eyes.
A tear came from his right eye. He took some deep breaths, inhaling with his nose and exhaling with his mouth. After a minute of deep breathing, he extended his legs out. He opened his eyes slightly, seeing Webby fill his vision once again. He silently, but noticeably gulped. Louie only mouthed 'I'm sorry' as he looked away from her.
"It's okay, Louie-"
"No, it's not, Webs. Nothing's okay, nothing at all. I'm not okay..."
Louie went to grab his hoodie to put it back on. When he laid his hand on it, Huey's hand went onto his, and Dewey's hand followed. Louie looked up at his brothers, both of which had reassuring smiles.
"And we're going to help you with that, Louie. You're not gonna do this alone." Dewey said.
Huey put his hand on Louie's shoulder. "Even if it takes years, we'll be here for you. We'll help you with whatever you're going through, no matter what it is."
Louie depressingly smiled at his eldest brother and nodded. While he had doubts on everything getting better for him, he had to remind himself it all took time. They had to remind him it took awhile sometimes. Habits couldn't be dropped with no problem, especially nothing that can be considered an addiction. Certain problems couldn't be magically gone in seconds, either, as much as he would like it at the moment.
His smile vanished as he took the hoodie off of the couch, putting it back on to hide the scars on his arms once again. Louie adjusted his sleeves to make sure none of his cuts were visible, not even the slightest bit. Just remembering there was a rubber band on the hoodie before he put it back on, Louie looked around for it.
Dewey gave him the rubber band back. "Looking for this?"
"Yeah. Thanks." Louie took it out of his hand and looked at it.
"You're welcome, Lou." Dewey gave him a quick hug.
"Oh, and we're keeping the pocket knife, by the way. We don't want you to cut yourself again or anything worse." Huey stated.
Louie looked at him. "Eh, that's fair."
Webby sat down next to Louie. The youngest triplet went to get up, but he was kept down to the couch. He looked down at his stomach to see Dewey's arm then at Dewey himself. Louie opened his mouth to speak.
Before he could, Dewey spoke first. "Don't go anywhere, bro, we're gonna be watching a movie together! C'mon, Hue, let's go get some snacks!"
He grabbed Huey's hand with their fingers intertwining. Dewey ran out of the room, practically dragging Huey out with him. As they went out, Huey closed the door as well as he could while going out of their bedroom. Louie watched them over the couch as the both of them left.
He then looked ahead of himself and put his hands in his hoodie. He laid his right leg upon his left as his left leg began shaking. He decided to pull out the phone that was in his hoodie and turned it on, looking at the screensaver picture.
It was a group picture that was cropped, although Huey's arm could still be seen in the photo. Louie had his hand on Webby's waist, keeping her close in the picture. Both of them were smiling, although what was shown were different kinds of smiles. Webby's smile was wholeheartedly genuine while Louie's was a mix between real and fake.
Nobody knew it was forced but himself.
He pressed onto the button on the bottom of the phone, sending him to the home screen. The wallpaper was different from the screensaver one, instead it was a picture of him and his brothers. It was taken when they used to be living on the houseboat. Even when they started living in the mansion, he hadn't updated the wallpaper. Maybe they should take a new picture sometime. If they even wanted to, anyways.
Webby rested her elbow on his shoulder. "Looking at your wallpaper, huh? Can I have that picture later?"
"Maybe, but get off of my shoulder, Webs." Louie said, playfully shoving her off. "My shoulder is not a place for your elbow to be at!"
They both laughed for a short amount of time.
"But are you doing okay, Lou?" She asked. He only raised an eyebrow. "You look upset, so I just wanna make sure you're fine and all."
His eyebrow dropped back down, and he looked away as he turned the phone off. Louie frowned, not wanting to say a word about it. He averted his vision over onto Webby without moving his head too much. She awaited for his answer, but not a single word wanted to fly out of his beak. No words at all about it.
Louie looked away, avoiding eye contact now. "It's... It's kinda silly, honestly. It's not something I need to worry about really." He forced a nervous laugh for a few seconds.
Webby put her hand on his shoulder. "I don't think it'd be silly, I mean... If you're worried about something, we're right here for you." She grabbed his right hand with both of her hands. "I'm right here for you. We'll reassure you that everything's alright."
"...Do you guys really care about me? Or am I just somebody you don't want in your company half the time?"
She grabbed his face and made him look at her. "Of course we care! You're their brother and you're my boyfriend! Why wouldn't we care about you?"
He only shrugged. "I dunno... Maybe because... I'm not that great?"
Her eyes widened hearing that. Her jaw dropped, seemingly speechless. He didn't know why she was surprised, because he really didn't think that greatly of himself. The next thing he knew, he was pulled right into a hug. It happened so fast he didn't realize it until afterwards.
"Louie, I don't know what you think of yourself entirely, but whatever it is, your thoughts are completely wrong. You're amazing Louie, all three of us think that. No, not think, we know that you're great!"
"But I'm-"
Before Louie could say anything more, she kissed him to essentially say 'not another word'. He closed his eyes and smiled as he kissed her back. They pulled away from one another seconds later. He looked at her then chuckled.
"I didn't realize kissing became a 'something to shut your lover up from going on about whatever' sort of thing. What, did you learn that from Dewey or somethin'?"
"Ha, I didn't. Does he actually do that?"
"He has done it once or twice before when Huey wouldn't shut up. Speaking of, how much you wanna bet that's probably why they're taking so long getting snacks right now?"
"Knowing how they are, it's likely." She chuckled.
The door opened, causing Louie to look over the couch to see who was coming in. Huey and Dewey came in with a few snacks and some soda. Louie snickered seeing them walk in.
"Speak of the devil," he started, "what took you two so long? Were you two lovebirds spending a few minutes kissing one another?" He teased, making a kissy face.
Dewey had a small smirk crawling onto his beak. Huey only rolled his eyes hearing the question.
"We weren't kissing downstairs, Louie. Someone could've came by, and I don't want to risk anybody finding out." Huey said with a tone of annoyance as he walked over to the couch. "We just got caught up in a little conversation, that's all."
Huey put the drinks down. Dewey followed him and sat down on the couch. He handed Louie one of the bags, who opened the chips right after he took it. He gave another bag of chips to Webby. After Huey put a movie in, he sat down next to Dewey.
Webby held Louie's hand as the movie started.
